Line o' the day: Tom Elia

Tom Elia, writing at the New Editor (hat tip: Larwyn):

Michelle Obama:

"The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more."

How does someone with two Ivy League degrees not understand that the economy is not a zero-sum game?

To paraphrase economist Don Boudreaux: Trying to learn economics from the media or most politicians is like trying to learn physics by watching Road Runner cartoons...

I like to think of it this way.

Trying to explain economics to a socialist is like teaching quantum mechanics to a bobble-head. You'll get some nodding but not a smidgen of comprehension.
