TED CRUZ: Pelosi Petrified of Trump Speaking Directly to America and Exposing Democrat Duplicity on Border

By Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)

Listen, if you’re Nancy Pelosi it makes a lot of sense to attempt to cancel the State of the Union address.

Nancy Pelosi is terrified, number one, of her extreme left-wing base; she is captive of that; and number two, the position of Congressional Democrats in this shutdown is objectively unreasonable.

In 2013, Chuck Schumer and every Senate Democrat voted in favor of 350 miles of border wall. They have right now shut the government down to stop 234 miles of border wall.

I don’t know how you explain that you voted in favor of 350 miles but you shut the government down to stop 234 miles. That is incoherent. What is the honest answer?

TEXAS DEMOCRAT @BetoOrourke: Attempted to Flee Drunk Driving Crash Scene in Failed Hit-and-Run?

The ultra-right wing New York Magazine relays the latest Beta O'Rourke news. Beta, you may recall, is running for the Senate in Texas against Ted Cruz. Oh, and Beta is the name he prefers, I hear.

...a new story in the Houston Chronicle claims that there’s an important part of the story that the Texas Congressman hasn’t addressed. According to records acquired by the paper, O’Rourke was not only nabbed for driving under the influence; he caused what could have been a catastrophic accident, then tried to flee the scene. Neither detail had previously been made available to the public. The Chronicle reports:

CRUZ LOWERS THE BOOM: FBI Director Comey stammers Demsplaining why Clinton and Abedin weren’t prosecuted

By World Tribune

Sen. Ted Cruz called out FBI Director James Comey for the director’s decision that Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin would walk because there was no intent on their part to break the law by their mishandling of classified information.

During Comey’s May 3 appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Cruz said:

DEBATING CONAN: Ted Cruz Drives Bernie Sanders Before Him and Hears the Lamentation of His Women

So Ted Cruz debated socialist Senator Bernie Sanders on health care the other day.

It was kinda like William Tecumseh Sherman versus Pajama Boy.

Consider this snippet, courtesy of PJmedia:

When Sanders asked Cruz point-blank whether "every American [is] entitled to healthcare as a right," Cruz took him back to the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

Mark Levin fires back at Ted Cruz detractors: How is he a sellout?

By Phil Shiver

Many in the conservative media have trashed Ted Cruz (A, 97%) since he announced his decision to support Donald Trump for president last Friday. Tonight on his radio show, CR Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin shot back in defense of Cruz.

“Now, the decision to vote for Trump is not a decision to embrace him, it’s to stop her (Hillary Clinton),” argued Levin.

“I guess Alexander Hamilton, when he eventually threw in with Jefferson to defeat Aaron Burr, was unprincipled,” Levin said sarcastically. “Hamilton hated Jefferson … but he thought he’d be better for the country.”

CRUZ AND TRUMP: Standing Up to a Bully

To paraphrase Kurt Schlichter, "I am not an official passenger on the Trump train. To the extent I am riding along it's as a hobo."

I'm not #NeverTrump, I'm #NeverHillary.

With that said, the great Stuart Schneiderman has an excellent bit today at his blog regarding the Cruz RNC kerfuffle. The key graphs:

TED CRUZ: Our Nation is at War

By Sen. Ted Cruz

Madam President, our Nation is at war. Five days ago, we saw a horrific terror attack in Orlando, FL. From September 11 to the Boston Marathon, from Fort Hood to Chattanooga, from San Bernardino to this attack in Orlando, radical Islamic terrorism has declared jihad on America. As the facts have unfolded, they now indicate that the Orlando terrorist had pledged his allegiance to ISIS in the process of murdering 49 and wounding more than 50 at a nightclub.

All of our hearts go out to those who were murdered. To the families of those who were victims and who are grieving, we stand in solidarity, we lift them up in prayer at this horrific act of terrorism. But it is also a time for action. We need a Commander in Chief who will speak the truth, who will address the enemy we face, who will unleash the full force and fury of the American military on defeating ISIS and defeating radical Islamic terrorists.

MARK LEVIN: If International Trade is So Bad, Why Has Mr. Trump Spent His Career Engaging In It?

By Mark R. Levin

Attorney, author, and radio host Mark R. Levin
One of the major planks in Donald Trump’s campaign platform, if not the top priority, has been a stalwart insistence that voluntary commerce and trade with other countries weakens America’s economy and costs American jobs.  Moreover, he insists that he knows best how to manage it all in the best interests of America.

Indeed, Trump has not only proposed slapping a 45 percent tariff on all goods made in China, and massive tariffs on other countries like Japan and Mexico, but he repeatedly declares that he will personally impose punitive taxes on Ford Motor Company if it follows through with plans to build a manufacturing plant in Mexico.  He has also threatened punitive penalties against Apple Inc. if it continues making iPhones in China.  It would seem, like Barack Obama, Trump has his own autocratic pen and phone.

Some cheer at these proposals, believing that Trump will, as he puts it, “Make America Great Again” (a campaign slogan lifted directly from the Reagan campaign over thirty years ago).  Of course, these populist/nationalist/protectionist proclamations and policies are nothing new.  The Progressive Republicans a century ago, including Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft and Herbert Hoover, all embraced them.  Even earlier, they were central to the short-lived People's Party, which was eventually swallowed by the Democrat Party’s progressive movement.  However, the times of greatest economic growth and progress in America, resulting in the creation of the vast American middle class, grew not from government control and management of the economy by politicians and bureaucrats, but market capitalism.  Perhaps I will delve further into this another day, but back to Donald Trump.

RAMIREZ CARTOON: If You Can’t Beat ‘Em, Join ‘Em

The brilliant Michael Ramirez of Investors Business Daily illustrates the stark contrast between Constitutionalism and Populism.

And, with a sigh, this post's author intoned for the 828,000th time: "And for you hardcore Trump-supporting readers, I would vote for Trump in the general over a Democrat because I would vote for a used Kleenex over a Democrat. But, to be perfectly honest, I have no idea what Mr. Trump's real positions are and neither do you."

SORRY, FOLKS: Donald Trump Is the Washington Establishment

For the 840,000th time I must remind the hardcore Trump supporters that I am not, nor will ever be, a #NeverTrump drone. I would support Mr. Trump over Hillary Clinton, because I would support a four day-old tuna sandwich over Hillary Clinton.

There's an important opinion piece by former U.S. prosecutor and staunch Constitutionalist Andrew C. McCarthy that every GOP primary voter should read. You say you want the key graphs? Boom.

Donald Trump is the Washington establishment. The fact that he has not previously held public office does not make him an “outsider.” Hell, Reince Priebus — the head of the Republican National Committee — has never held public office. If the ruling class were just the officeholders, it would be short-lived. The Donald Trumps who pay the freight are the Washington establishment’s lifeblood. They are joined to the officeholders at the hip . . . or hadn’t you noticed Governor Christie shadowing The Donald?

The new Trump bumper-stickers are here! The new Trump bumper-stickers are here!

Given the latest revelations from (an almost certainly plastered) John Boehner that he despises Ted Cruz and adores Donald Trump -- who he says is his golfing and texting buddy -- our summer intern Biff Spackle suggests the following bumper sticker for the real estate magnate.

Add this to the pile of evidence -- such as the Trump campaign's admission that it is scheming with Mitch McConnell -- that far from being anti-establishment, Mr. Trump is the establishment.

There is only one real anti-establishment candidate in this race and his name is Ted "Lucifer" Cruz.

President Hillary Clinton

By Daniel Greenfield

Only Republicans can make President Hillary Clinton a reality.

On January, 20, 2017, President Hillary Clinton might just become a reality. With her face set in the tight unpleasant grimace that is the closest she can come to smiling, she will take the oath of office on a bible, her  Alinsky thesis or an Eleanor Roosevelt Ouija board vowing to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

If the bible doesn’t burst into flames on the spot, she will take office with one more lie on her stained conscience after a long career of them.

TRUMP CAMPAIGN CHIEF/LOBBYIST MANAFORT: Yeah, We're Secretly Working with Mitch McConnell

Paul Manafort is the new head of Donald Trump's campaign. A longtime Washington insider and heavy duty lobbyist for third world dictators, Manafort appeared this morning on Fox News Sunday and inadvertently let slip some revealing truths.
MANAFORT: ...What we're trying to do right now is work with the Mitch McConnells who we didn't depose in Kentucky even though he won the election and we worked with him to put a unity slate together. We're trying to bring the party together. That’s what --

WALLACE: Wait, because I think this is interesting. You're saying that you're working with the Senate majority leader, who to a lot of the grassroots is a symbol of the problem?

BREAKING, EXCLUSIVE: Donald Trump poised to win GOP primary in most liberal state in in the Union

By Cliff Kincaid

Donald J. Trump’s admission that two of his adult kids didn’t even bother to register as Republicans, in order to vote for him in the New York primary, says all you need to know about his attempted takeover of the GOP. Trump isn’t a real Republican and his kids aren’t committed to the party. They work for their Daddy.

The evidence is clear: the candidate who had no knowledge of the nuclear triad, which protects America from a Russian nuclear first-strike, and who flip-flops on every major issue, is still a Democrat.

At this late stage in the campaign, it is simply amazing that conservative media personalities and websites (such as the Drudge Report) are ignoring the evidence of Trump’s involvement with the Democratic Party and close relationship with the Clintons, and treating the businessman as an authentic Republican.

HILLARY IN A SUIT: Top 17 Left-Wing Moments of John Kasich’s Endless Political Career

By Daniel Horowitz

As the race between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz becomes more acrimonious, many people are naturally attracted to a fresh alternative. John Kasich has the benefit of being so irrelevant he can’t even win a congressional district, much less a full state.  And precisely because he’s been so irrelevant, few have bothered to expose his true record.

As we are learning throughout this primary season, the Republican Party is divided and diverse.  But the common denominator between all Republicans is that they want to move in a new direction, far away from the Obama agenda.  What is clear about John Kasich is that far from being a fresh alternative, he is the embodiment of what is fueling everyone’s anger.

Here are the top 17 times Gov. Kasich’s left-wing tendencies on the most critical issues of our time have been on display:

RUSH: Cruz Isn't Cheating Trump, He's Outwitting and Outworking Trump

By Rush Limbaugh

There's something else about these delegate fights that have taken place over the weekend where Cruz has just skunked Trump. It isn't even a contest. It is fascinating to watch. And, of course, the Trump people think that games are being played and that tricks are being pulled. But that's not happening. This is just somebody who understands the system using it. You know, we could go into a little discussion if you want about insider versus outsider, and I've tried to tell people: "These insiders are not just gonna let this stuff go, folks. They're not just gonna sit idly by and let you take it away from 'em."

The Coming Drama in Cleveland

By Richard Larsen

This could be the first year in a long time that a major political party convention actually serves the function of producing a nominee, rather than simply being a coronation of a nominee. For many who are emotionally invested in a certain outcome from the conventions this year, the angst and outright anger is nearly palpable. But it’s unwarranted, as borne out by history, and an understanding of the function of conventions.

Until 1972, major party presidential candidates were all chosen by the respective party conventions. The chaotic 1968 Democrat convention in Chicago provided the incentive to move more to a presidential primary system to generate delegates to party conventions. Hubert H. Humphrey became the Democrat nominee even though he had not run in a single presidential primary.

LIFE UNDER THE FASCISTS: Senior Adviser Threatens GOP Delegates Who "Steal" Election From Trump

Well, this seems rather, eh, brown-shirty:

Roger Stone, a veteran Republican strategist and ally to Donald Trump, urged Trump supporters on Tuesday to hunt down any delegates who might try to deny him the nomination at the party's convention in July.

"We will disclose the hotels and the room numbers of those delegates who are directly involved in the steal," Stone said, referring to any attempts by rival campaigns to sway delegate votes away from Trump. "We'll tell you who the culprits are. We urge you to visit their hotel and find them."

Stone also called for any and all Trump supporters, who are not delegates, to gather at the convention in Cleveland where "we're going to have protests, demonstrations."

GOPe BIGWIG CASTELLANOS: Paul Ryan 'What Delegates Really Want'

Yes, it appears they really will try to steal the nomination from Trump or Cruz.

And by they, I refer of course to the GOPe.

The following are the highlights of an essay sent by long-time GOP consultant Alex Castellanos to his NewRepublican.org mailing list (via Breitbart News):

THE OBJECTIVE STANDARD: Ted Cruz for President

By Craig Biddle

I haven’t said much about the 2016 U.S. presidential race, and I probably won’t say much more about it after this article, as I want to focus on more fundamental philosophic issues. But I’d like to say a few words about why I unequivocally support Ted Cruz for president and why I think all liberty loving Americans should as well.

Although not all of Cruz’s ideas are grounded in reality, and although some of them are dangerously false, Cruz regards ideas as important, and he has a body of principles that guide his thinking on political matters. Chief among these is his recognition of the fact that the U.S. Constitution is, as he puts it, “the supreme law of the land” and that the job of the president is to uphold and enforce it. “I will defend the Constitution—all of it,” promises Cruz.

Of course, I and other lovers of liberty take issue with Cruz about what the Constitution means in certain areas and about how best to enforce it. But many of Cruz’s ideas in this regard are substantially if not entirely good. Here are some representative instances (all quotations are Cruz’s own words unless otherwise noted):
