THE TIGHTENING: Trump Lead Over Cruz in California Shrinks to a Single Point Among Likely Voters

By Juliegrace Brufke

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump holds a narrow lead over Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in California, according to a USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times statewide poll released Sunday.

The results show Trump polling at 37 percent, with Cruz following at 30 percent and Ohio Gov. John Kasich in third at 12 percent with all voters in the state.

The race was closer among likely voters:

OMG!1! THE ULTIMATE #CruzSexScandal WRAPUP THREAD!!1@1!!!!

I think Dan McLaughlin put it best, and I paraphrase, when he asked how bizarre a campaign this has turned out to be when Trump's campaign is pushing a rumor about its spokesperson which she denies?

RUSH: Why They All Fear Ted Cruz

By Rush Limbaugh

It really is striking to see the massive, coordinated, almost panic-filled reaction to Ted Cruz suggesting that a program previously implemented be used again. Everybody involved in the program is denying it or acting like it was a big failure. "Don't associate us with it." And what it was, it was discovered by the AP back on August 11, 2011. It's a 2011 report in August, and the AP find out that the CIA was assisting the NYPD in monitoring New York City Muslim neighborhoods. It was a program started under George W. Bush, continued under... none other than Barack Obama.

Has the GOPe "Hail Mary" Pass to @JohnKasich Failed?

The Beltway Establishment's original plan to hand Jeb Bush the GOP nomination (also known as the "GOPe Splitter Strategy") hinged on flooding the zone with establishment candidates to clear a path for "the Smart Bush™".

That plan failed as it became clear that voter anger was at an all-time high, levitating anti-establishment candidates like Donald Trump and Ted Cruz to the top two positions. As recently as last week, the proxy for the establishment -- Mitt Romney -- was still pinning his hopes on the likes of John Kasich, the lone establishment buffoon remaining.

Today, however, Romney and the GOPe appear to have succumbed to reality:

DRUNK ON POWER: GOPe senior official says that the insiders choose the nominee, not the voters

Someone really out to be handling public relations for these nutjobs

Interviewed on CNBC, Curly Haugland -- an unbound GOP delegate from North Carolina -- uttered some of the most outlandish and nefarious comments ever heard on national television regarding the GOP nomination.

Unless Someone Gets To 1,237 Delegates, The Republican Convention Is Going To Be A Giant Mess

By Michael Snyder

2016 is turning out to be the strangest election season that we have seen in decades, and it may soon get far stranger. At this point, most people assume that Donald Trump is going to be the Republican nominee, and without a doubt he has had a tremendous amount of success. But because most of the states so far have apportioned delegates proportionally, Trump only has 44.8 percent of the delegates that have been awarded up to this point. So Trump is going to have to do significantly better through the rest of the process in order to get to the magic number of 1,237 delegates, especially since not all of the delegates are awarded through the primaries and caucuses. As Real Clear Politics has detailed, every state “is awarded so-called ‘RNC delegates,’ who are party officials with automatic credentials to the convention“.

A Time For Choosing

By Cliff Kincaid

Donald J. Trump has a strange and unhealthy fascination with the “strength” of those who pummel, terrorize, and kill people. At the Miami Republican debate, he stood by comments in support of the Communist Chinese dictatorship for killing protesters during a “riot,” and he praised the leading killer in the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, for being “strong.” Despite these shocking assertions, Trump was seen by some in the media as turning in a respectable or even “presidential” performance. At least he didn’t talk about his body parts or use obscenities.

Once again, according to Trump’s leading media cheerleader, the Drudge Report, the New York businessman won the debate. Drudge said he got 63 percent in an online survey, versus 24 percent for Senator Ted Cruz.

It seemed bizarre to me. But in a matter-of-fact manner, moderator Jake Tapper noted that Trump has been criticized for “praising authoritarian dictators.” He quoted Trump as saying about China’s massacre of pro-democracy protesters at Tiananmen Square, “When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it, then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength.”

DEAR GOPe: Unite Behind Ted Cruz --- Or Die.

That's the message David French has for the GOP establishment:

Here’s what the math says: John Kasich and Marco Rubio, you have no hope of becoming the GOP nominee. Even if you win your home states, the only thing that will do is maintain the four-person dynamic under which Trump thrives. Even if you are fortunate enough to work cooperatively to deny Trump an absolute majority of delegates, do either of you — in your right mind — believe that a convention dominated by Trump and Cruz delegates is going to unite behind you? They’d sooner riot (and I’m only partially joking).

We’ve given the multi-candidate “blind ambition tour” exactly 23 states and one territory to work, and here’s the score: Trump 15, Cruz 7, Rubio 2, and Kasich . . . zero. I think that’s a sufficient sample size. Let’s try something else...

No, Donald Trump Isn't Going to Build a Wall

'Build the Wall' is the new 'Hope and Change'

Let me say from the outset that I am not a member of the crypto-Democrats masquerading as Republicans or conservatives under the banner of #NeverTrump.

While I often agree with the likes of Erick Erickson and Jim Geraghty, their rationale for withholding support for a potential Trump nominee defies all logic and reason.

In effect, abstaining from a presidential election provides tacit assistance to the ultra-radicalized Democrat Party. Their inaction might help move a pantsuited crime boss or a Marxist kook to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The cries of the Crypto-Democrats revolve around several dubious claims:

Marco Rubio Has a Second Amendment Problem

By Tim Macy

When Marco Rubio was a local commissioner in Florida in 1999, he voted to ban guns from local parks.

Now, politicians make mistakes. And honest politicians “fess up” and move on.

Rubio's problem is that, when Senator Ted Cruz called attention to Rubio's anti-gun vote, Marco’s response was to call Cruz a “liar.” This was part of a larger narrative in which Donald Trump and Rubio were hurling “pants on fire” insults at Cruz.

But when Rubio disavowed his 1999 anti-gun vote -- falsely accusing Ted Cruz of Rubio's own sins -- he made a serious mistake.

LETTER FROM A READER: A Cruz-Rubio Ticket

Dear Influential Conservative Blogger [Ed.: Heh.],

Perhaps the best chance we have for the Presidential election 2016 is not Donald Trump, but rather a ticket with Ted Cruz for President and Marco Rubio for Vice President. I believe their combined poll ratings are higher than those of Trump.

Ted Cruz for President can be contacted at https://www.tedcruz.org/contact/.

The campaign's phone number is 713-353-4330.

If Ted Cruz is still in the race after Super Tuesday, but has not yet made Rubio his running mate, his campaign can be reached by snail mail at:

MARK LEVIN: It's Time for Marco Rubio to Stop Lying

By Mark R. Levin

A little while back, I argued that Marco Rubio's tactics in attacking Ted Cruz's Senate record on immigration and national defense, among other things, were Alinskyite.  They were and still are simply and demonstrably dishonest.  Yet he persists, knowing full well that by the time the truth catches up with him, if ever, the damage will have been done.  More recently, Rubio and his campaign team have intensified and broadened their Alinskyite tactics, now focusing on the ultimate personal smear -- that Ted Cruz is a serial liar.  Even in this, Rubio is not original.  Of course, Donald Trump has been calling his opponents liars as an almost Tourette's-like response against anyone who reminds him of his past but recent support for leftists and leftist causes, some of whom and which he still embraces.

But Rubio's smears are part of a more deliberative and unrelenting propaganda campaign. They are now at the core of his campaign effort to dislodge Cruz and clear the field against Trump.

AN OPEN LETTER TO TED CRUZ: It's Obama, Stupid

By Dan Friedman

Dear Senator Cruz:

Whatever your strategy has been up until now, your problem is conventional political wisdom, which is always conventional but too often unwise. The reflexive response advocated by your "campaign professionals" to tilt at every canard that's aimed at you is worse than a waste of time, it's falling into the trap they have set for you. Unfortunately, the way things work nowadays, every public riposte only sells your competitors' product. Frankly, that’s a hack PR approach to politics.

Just look at the results of yesterday's South Carolina primary. The "establishment" has found their stalking horse - destroyer of hopes and ambitions - and Rubio is going to be breathing down your neck until the nominating convention.

Senator, this is the moment to turn your ship around and head to calmer waters and more productive fishing grounds.

Our nation and our world has suffered under almost 8 years of Obama's oppressive regime. If there's anything approaching a common denominator among Americans, it's that Obama has been a catastrophic failure - and anyone who doesn’t agree will never vote for you under any circumstances.

It's time you built your campaign around the simple idea that you are the only candidate in the race with the principles, political skills and intellectual depth to retrace Obama's steps, roll back his damage, put the genie back in the bottle and get America back on track again.

Senator, you need to reposition yourself. The hour is late, but not too late to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Please start today.

Sincerely,

Dan Friedman

OH, MY: Ted Cruz Takes Lead in Major National Poll

Please: no one tell Mr. Trump. He'll freak out, turn orange, and accuse the pollsters of lying.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has surpassed Donald Trump for the top spot in a new national survey of the Republican presidential race from NBC News/Wall Street Journal.

Cruz leads the poll with the support of 28 percent of those surveyed, followed by Trump at 26 percent, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio at 17 percent, Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 11 percent, and Ben Carson at 10 percent.

Trump dropped seven percentage points since last month, and hit his lowest point in the NBC/WSJ poll since October 2015 when Carson took the top spot. Cruz and Kasich each gained eight percentage points since January, the largest improvement of any candidate, and received their highest level of support ever in the poll.

"When you see a number this different, it means you might be right on top of a shift in the campaign," said Bill McInturff, who conducted the survey with a Democratic pollster on behalf of Hart Research Associates, to NBC.

This is just a single poll, to be sure. But one can only hope and pray that a man grounded in the Constitution since his youth can attain the presidency.

Say your prayers, my friends.

MARK LEVIN: Trump Sounds Like a "Radical Kook", Cuts Military Families to the Core with his "9/11 Truther Crap"

From The Mark Levin Show, 15 February 2016:

I watched that debate Saturday night. It was a disgrace. It was a disgrace. First of all, because that bum who is the chairman of the RNC -- I've been calling for his resignation since whenever -- packed that audience with his fat-cat donors and hangers-on and consultants and all the rest. There were times I couldn't even hear Ted Cruz's answer or Donald Trump's answer because they were being booed. Have you ever heard or seen that before? That's your 'Rinse' Priebus. That's your 'Rinse' Priebus...

Could I have a Trump sandwich with a side of Soros, please?

Donald Trump has attacked Ted Cruz roughly a billion times over the last week for having taken out loans from Citibank and Goldman Sachs. Like most everything Trump says, his attacks are short on facts and even shorter on sense. He claims somehow that Cruz attempted to hide the loans, even though he openly disclosed them on public filings (just not the right ones).

On the other hand, Trump definitely can be bought and he most certainly does owe large amounts of money to some rather suspicious and nefarious people.
