Party of Hope, Change and Beatdowns

So it begins. President Obama's paid thugs are now routinely assaulting taxpayers as directed by their leader. Remember?

Obama to ACORN: "They Bring a Knife...We Bring a Gun"

Obama to his organizers: "Get in Their Faces!"

Obama's Alabama-area OFA organizer: "We're not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army."

Obama discussing ACORN support: "I don't want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I'm angry!"

Obama to his paid ACORN mercenaries (on the taxpayer dime, no less): "Hit Back Twice As Hard"

In Tucson, over 1,000 anti-socialized medicine protesters peacefully assembled, quietly listening to speakers until an anti-free speech thug disrupted the meeting.

The man entered the meeting shouting, screaming and shaking a sign.

The crowd was shocked.

When a man asked him to stop shouting and leave, the thug elbowed him in the face.

It looks like a clear-cut case of assault and battery to me.

A police officer removed the man from the meeting.

In Georgia, another pro-ObamaCare thug had to be threatened with a taser by police before he was arrested for threatening senior citizens peacefully protesting against socialized medicine.

Consider: this is happening now, a little more than a year before the midterm elections and three years from the Presidential election.

And the precedent for tolerating voter intimidation at the polls has been set.

Folks, I'll be frank.

I don't have a good feeling about this.

Death Knell for CarbonCare™

The Bad writes:

Folks, I'm here to say that we no longer have to worry about the liberal healthcare debacle. All is lost for them:

Al Gore says the country has a 'moral duty' to pass HC reform

As we all know, Gore has the opposite of the Midas touch on issues. When he shows up to speak on Global Warming Hoax, record snow storms follow him. He's now out backing healthcare "reform".

Allow me to be the first to say, "Thanks Al, we might not have defeated it without you!"

Jarrett Skorup adds:

Whoa, Al! Not only is it a moral duty, but it's moral duty to be done now!

Now, I'm not a theologian, but I don't recall Jesus ever saying it was the government's responsibility to take care of the least of us, but rather the individual. When I'm judged before God, I assure you that one of the knocks against me won't be that I didn't vote for higher taxes.

Anyways, I'm not real convinced that Al looks to the Bible for his spiritual guidance. Which means (gasp!), that he's playing politics with religion!

...[but] it's not because of Jesus that the bill needs to be saved, but rather for President Obama. I understand the confusion; sometimes Democrats have the tendency to mix those two up.

Cue the rimshot.

New Democrat Town Hall Strategy: Have Constituents Arrested

Rep. Carol Shea-Porter of New Hampshire's District 1 appears to be implementing the new Democrat Town Hall strategy: have constituents arrested by police.

Writing at Hot Air, Ed Morrissey observes that this "is a curious re-election strategy, especially for a Representative who made her name by bird-dogging her former Congressman at his town-hall forums. Consistency isn’t Carol Shea-Porter’s strong suit, apparently, as she demonstrates in this clip from the meeting she finally held with constituents after dodging them for most of the month. When one of her constituents challenges the presence of union enforcers in the crowd, Shea-Porter asks for police intervention..."

Today's Democrats use the instrumentalities of government to suppress free speech (consider the "Fairness Doctrine", the "Local Diversity Rule" and other mechanisms to silence conservative opinion).

Residents of New Hampshire: watch the video, impress it in your memory, and then throw this Statist hack out of office in 2010.

Update: Robert Moon:

Liberals simply cannot compete on a level playing field, so they try to control the flow of information in this country at every turn, as they have done with academia, Hollywood, and are now even starting to do with the Internet.

Chicagoland readers: Jan Schakowsky holding a town hall on Monday

The execrable Chicago-area pol Rep. Jan Schakowsky is hosting a health care town hall meeting in Skokie on Monday.

Date: Monday, August 31, 2009
Time: 5:00pm - 8:30pm
Location: Niles West High School - Auditorium
Street: 5701 Oakton
City/Town: Skokie, IL

Description: Health Care Reform Town Hall with Congresswoman Schakowsky
Parking Lot Open to the Public at 5 PM

Congresswoman Schakowsky will be holding a town hall meeting to discuss President Obama's Health Care Reform plan, and we want to hear from you.

Jan's top priority in Congress is to help President Obama pass real health care reform, but corporate lobbyists and right-wing extremists will stop at nothing to derail the President's reform agenda, by disrupting town hall meetings and attempting to squelch debate.

We need to hear from you on Monday, August 31st about how you would like to see the health care system fixed, and to show your support for health care reform. This event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM, but we expect a large turnout, so please plan on arriving between 5:00 and 5:30. Please note, school will be in session at Niles West that day, and the public will not be allowed on campus BEFORE 5:00 PM.

Yes, because the federal government's done such a good job running the post office, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the VA, the Indian Health Services and Cash for Clunkers, we need it to take over an additional 20% of the economy.

Join me at Rep. Schakowsky's Town Hall: be polite, be civil, but ask the tough questions that need to be asked of the National Socialist Democrats.

The ObamaCare ad that terrifies ABC and NBC

This is the ad that ABC and NBC are so terrified of that they refuse to run it. Narrated by a neurosurgeon, its logic is irrefutable, its message simple and its impact indelible.

The League of American Voters needs your support in running this ad on other channels. Click to watch and, if possible, help.

As an aside, isn't it tragic that the mainstream media has dedicated itself to suppressing free speech? Here's my suggestion: don't watch ABC or NBC. Ever.

British patients sue over 33% failure rate for operations

Today's London Daily Mail reports:

Patients suing hospital botched ops horror

A hospital which flew in Scandinavian surgeons to reduce waiting times is being sued after it was alleged that one third of the operations carried out were botched.

Surgeons from Sweden, Denmark and Finland were flown into Britain between 2003 and 2006 as part of a £3million scheme to speed up hip and knee replacements... But concerns were raised about the quality of the work carried out and many patients fear the surgeons were insufficiently trained or skilled...

Gee, grandpa -- I can't wait for government-run health care, can you?

Look on the bright side: it was only one in three!

Update: Government health care is not moral.

The new bumperstickers are here! The new bumperstickers are here!

Who is the most detestable, menacing and pathetic politician in America?

Well, there are a lot to choose from, but one in particular is the sleaziest of the lot. That would be none other than Chuckie "Welfare Queen" Schumer, senior dirtbag from New York.

He's called "Welfare Queen" seeing as how he never held a real job in his life. So "Welfare Queen" it is. And I do hear that's the nickname he prefers.

And, according to Beltway insiders, the most dangerous place in the district is between Schumer and a camera. So... given the publicity surrounding the health care debate, Schumer's willingly acted as one of the most visible proxies for the National Socialist Democrat agenda.

[Schumer's] moves in the health-care game have been carefully strategized with the Obama White House, particularly Schumer's close ally from the 2006 electoral wars, Rahm Emanuel. So Schumer's tough talk last week about Democrats being prepared to pass a health-care bill without any Republican support was seen as delivering a message from Obama... [and] ...he's on record unequivocally promising to deliver a Senate health-care package that includes a public option

You see, Schumer doesn't believe in the Constitution. The First Amendment (talk radio)... the Second Amendment (the right to bear arms)... he doesn't believe in due process, when it comes to conservatives (only for terrorists)... he doesn't believe in property rights... or the Tenth Amendment...

So why would anyone listen to a man who rejects the majority of the Bill of Rights?

To show you what a sleazebag Schumer is, he said Sunday he is fleshing out plans to use a backdoor process to ram socialized medicine down the throats of the American people.

In the last week, Democrats have begun to talk openly of using a procedure known as budget reconciliation to pass a health bill in the Senate with a simple majority, assuming no Republican support. To do that, under Senate rules, they would probably need to show that the public plan changed federal spending or revenues and that the effects were not “merely incidental” to the changes in health policy...

Now the reconciliation process is supposed to be a procedural process to work out differences between a Senate bill and a House bill. And he wants to abuse that process in order to get around the 60-vote filibuster rule in the Senate.

He wants to use that process to pass through massive, substantive legislation to transform 20% of our entire economy and turn it into an authoritarian, Soviet-style bureaucracy controlled by... Democrats. So Schumer wants to use a sleight-of-hand procedure so it isn't stopped by the normal legislative process.

Now consider: Schumer led the effort -- for the first time in American history -- to use the filibuster to thwart GOP judicial nominees! Such a sleazy move, it had never been attempted in American history! And over and over and over again, Schumer used the 60-vote requirement against the GOP majority. He used Senate rules to trump the Constitution.

Now, where Senate rules can legitimately be applied to the legislative process -- as opposed to the nomination and confirmation process --

You need 60 votes -- those are the rules that have been in place for decades!

Schumer says, "let's get around the filibuster for legislation using the reconciliation process", so all we need is 51 votes.

And when it comes to judges, he promoted and used the filibuster, an unconstitutional and unprecedented maneuver, time and time again.

But when it comes to legislation, he wants to bypass the rules of the Senate and slam massive bills through the reconciliation process.

So you want to see the face of tyranny in the Senate? Where it doesn't matter who wins office, a man who will use any means -- constitutional or not -- to drive a tryannical agenda? Whether a representative government matters or not? With a complete disrespect for the legislative process and the American people?

You want to see the face of tyranny? In the United States Senate, it's the despicable and loathsome Chuckie "Welfare Queen" Schumer.

Go ahead and forward this to his offices and I'll see you in the reeducation camps.

To The Congress

Thanks to GM Roper for forwarding an email that inspired this post:

To the Congress:

The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775 - you have had 234 years to get it right; it is broke.

Social Security was established in 1935 - you have had 74 years to get it right; it is broke.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938 - you have had 71 years to get it right; it is broke.

The "War on Poverty" started in 1964 - you have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor"; it hasn't worked and our entire country is broke.

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965 - you've had 44 years to get it right; they are broke.

Freddie Mac was established in 1970 - you have had 39 years to get it right; it is broke.

Trillions of dollars were spent in the massive political payoffs called TARP, the "Stimulus", the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009... none show any signs of working, although ACORN appears to have found a new b***h: the American taxpayer.

And finally, to set a new record:

"Cash for Clunkers" was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009! It took good dependable cars (that were the best some people could afford) and replaced them with high-priced and less-affordable cars, mostly Japanese. A good percentage of the profits went out of the country. And the American taxpayers take the hit for Congress' generosity in burning three billion more of our dollars on failed experiments.

So with a perfect 100% failure rate and a record that proves that "services" you shove down our throats are failing faster and faster, you want Americans to believe you can be trusted with a government-run health care system?

20% of our entire economy?

With all due respect,

Are you f***ing crazy?

Remember: Cash for Codgers Expires Tomorrow!

If you're going to take advantage of the government's generous offer to exchange cold, hard cash for any seniors in your family (must be aged 65 and over to qualify), you've got until tomorrow to do so. That's when the acclaimed Cash for Codgers program expires.

The site explains the basic appeal of the program.

Each senior in your household (aged 65 or above) may be turned for a $4,500 instant cash reward at a conveniently located Senior Turn-In Center near you (seniors suffering from incontinence and other maladies may yield less, read the program details for complete offer information).

Any senior you exchange will be disposed of humanely, using an intravenous drip consisting of a saline, morphine, short-acting barbiturate and chemical paralytic solution. This saves the Social Security Administration and Medicare from spending between $40,000 to $80,000 for each, average end-of-life treatment.

In these tough economic times, what's better than solving the entitlement crisis and addressing senior health care issues simultaneously?

Health Care Trap

Doesn't this:

...have an eerie resemblance to this:

Just food for thought.

Hurry Up and Die, Already!

Little wonder so many folks are showing up at health care protests, expressing anxiety over socialized medicine, health care rationing and "death panels". Writing in The Wall Street Journal, Jim Towey describes the Obama administration's ham-handed attempts to cut costs at the Veterans' Administration.

Last year, bureaucrats at the VA's National Center for Ethics in Health Care advocated a 52-page end-of-life planning document, "Your Life, Your Choices." It was first published in 1997 and later promoted as the VA's preferred living will throughout its vast network of hospitals and nursing homes. After the Bush White House took a look at how this document was treating complex health and moral issues, the VA suspended its use. Unfortunately, under President Obama, the VA has now resuscitated "Your Life, Your Choices."

Who is the primary author of this workbook? Dr. Robert Pearlman, chief of ethics evaluation for the center, a man who in 1996 advocated for physician-assisted suicide in Vacco v. Quill before the U.S. Supreme Court and is known for his support of health-care rationing.

"Your Life, Your Choices" presents end-of-life choices in a way aimed at steering users toward predetermined conclusions, much like a political "push poll." For example, a worksheet on page 21 lists various scenarios and asks users to then decide whether their own life would be "not worth living."

The circumstances listed include ones common among the elderly and disabled: living in a nursing home, being in a wheelchair and not being able to "shake the blues." There is a section which provocatively asks, "Have you ever heard anyone say, 'If I'm a vegetable, pull the plug'?" There also are guilt-inducing scenarios such as "I can no longer contribute to my family's well being," "I am a severe financial burden on my family" and that the vet's situation "causes severe emotional burden for my family."

When the government can steer vulnerable individuals to conclude for themselves that life is not worth living, who needs a death panel?

...This hurry-up-and-die message is clear and unconscionable. Worse, a July 2009 VA directive instructs its primary care physicians to raise advance care planning with all VA patients and to refer them to "Your Life, Your Choices." Not just those of advanced age and debilitated condition—all patients. America's 24 million veterans deserve better.

As do the intended victims of Democrats' rabid plans for socialized medicine. Consider the framing in "Your Life, Your Choices":

On the other hand, Jim Towey is the author of "Five Wishes", the most widely used living will in America, with more than 12 million copies in circulation. Unlike the VA's document, it contains no bias either for or against end-of-life medical care. Consumer Reports describes Five Wishes as a "well conceived" document and an NCI-NIH study praised its use as a living will.

Those who ridicule the notion of "death panels" need ask themselves only one question: if I am in that situation, which document would I prefer? Follow-up question: which document should be used by our veterans?

Health Care Trading Cards: Collect 'em all!

Wondering who gets what out of the Democrat Party's push for single-payer, socialized medicine? Keep tabs on all the cash changing hands with this exclusive collection of Health Care Trading Cards™!

The AARP gets some serious coin: millions in taxpayer funds to help build their various businesses, which have little to do with looking out for seniors: "What Obama didn’t say is that AARP receives millions in federal funds, and hopes to get even more by becoming a vendor under his plan. In January 2007, NLPC published Special Report documenting taxpayer support for AARP. The study found that federal funding accounted for $83 million, or about 10 percent, of AARP’s then-annual revenue of $878 million."

Trial Lawyer Tycoons look to get about a $1.6 billion payoff and an unlimited amount of rope to pursue malpractice lawsuits. That is to say, ObamaCare takes tort reform completely off the table.

ACORN and other community agitators (whom, in part, are responsible for the entire mortgage meltdown) are slated to receive billions in Stimulus funds and billions from Obamacare. Consider it a quid pro quo for their, eh, energetic support of the Obama campaign.

Union Bosses aim to get a direct $10 billion payoff from Obamacare, millions injected into their pension funds and, best of all, millions of new, dues-paying members as public-sector unions replace the evil insurance companies. And try getting one of those bureaucrats fired, I dare you!

Unaccountable politicians -- who have come out and said they don't give a crap what their constituents think -- will amass more power, further breakdown the firewalls in the Constitution and then walk away. And where will Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid be in ten years, when the rest of us are struggling with a massive, out-of-control, federalized medical system that doesn't give a damn about individuals and is busy rationing care and denying care to the elderly? They will be retired as very wealthy individuals -- with their very own private health care -- having imposed their Marxist ideology upon this society and then walked away from it.

Leaving the massive deficits for our children and grandchildren to worry about.

You? You get bupkis, which is to say: nuttin'. Oh, you will get called Nazis, thugs, racists, mobsters, and terrorists for having opposed socialized medicine.

But, as a bonus, you'll also lose your liberty -- you'll lose control of your very physical well-being -- to a useless, faceless board of unaccountable, numbskull bureaucrats who couldn't even run a cash-for-clunkers program.

But look on the bright side: you won't have that pesky Constitution and Declaration of Independence to worry about any more!
