More SmartPower™ From Obama: Hey Iran, Can We Get Our Drone Back?

No, seriously. I'm not making this up.

Even ABC News is chortling as the Organizer-In-Chief tries to push the Reset button... all the way back to the Carter administration.

President Barack Obama said today the U.S. has requested that Iran return the highly sensitive stealth drone that crash landed there two weeks ago, but an Iranian general already said that's not going to happen.

"We've asked for it back. We'll see how the Iranians respond," Obama said at a news conference... A senior Iranian military commander, however, said on Iranian television Sunday that not only would Iran not turn over the drone, but warned of a "bigger response" to the "hostile act" of crossing into Iranian airspace.

"No one returns the symbol of aggression to the party that sought secret and vital intelligence related to the national security of a country," Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps [IRGC] Lt. Commander Gen. Hossein Salami said, according to Iran's Fars News Agency.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said told reporters today that "given Iran's behavior to date, we do not expect them to comply" with Obama's request. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta also said he didn't expect Iran to hand over the drone...

Impressive. What's next? A Presidential request to pretty-please-stop-building-nukes-with-a-cherry-on-top?

Obama Making The World Safe For Political Islam [Dan from New York]

Dan from New York:

Hillary Clinton gave a major foreign policy address on Monday articulating the Obama Administration’s updated policy toward the Arab uprisings, and it didn’t get the news coverage it deserved. That was probably to be expected, since her speech revealed a pronounced tilt toward the Islamists vying for political power after the “Arab Spring”, a tilt that will discomfit many Americans. Luckily, some people were paying attention. Here are two reactions from solid Middle East analysts with disparate viewpoints and approaches who both reacted to Hillary’s remarks with similar raised eyebrows.

This is actually very important, especially if you are concerned about where Obama is leading our country.

More Questions Than Answers in Secretary Clinton’s Remarks on the Arab Uprisings

One of the consequences of Secretary of State Clinton’s speech will be for people in the Middle East to conclude that the United States now endorses Islamist parties.

-- Robert M. Danin, Council on Foreign Relations, November 8, 2011

It’s Official: Obama Administration Promotes Islamist Regimes; Insists They are Moderate

But now there can be no doubt that Obama’s Middle East policy is engaged in what might be the biggest blunder in the history of U.S. foreign policy.

New Gang of Bloodthirsty Throwbacks Screws Up the State Department Style Guide [Dan from New York]

Dan from New York:

Just when we were getting comfortable with Hamas, out of nowhere comes another Gaza terror organization, Islamic Jihad, who wants to share the spotlight.

Hey, cool uniforms guys!

Truce with Israel will not last: Islamic Jihad

GAZA — The Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad, which traded deadly fire with Israel over the weekend in Gaza, does not expect a subsequent truce to last long and has at least 8,000 fighters ready for war, a spokesman said...

...While Hamas has recently spent much of its energy on the business of government, Islamic Jihad has kept its focus firmly on the conflict, gaining in prominence and enjoying significant backing from Muslim supporters, including Iran...

###

The emergence of this group is going to pose a double semantic problem for Obama & Co. How will they be able to describe “Islamic Jihad” without mentioning its name and breaking the rules in the new State Dept. style book?

Now that's what I call SmartPower™!

Look. The cat's out of the bag. Knowledge of Operation Fast and Furious was limited to the ATF only!

6 August 2011
Would you believe that it was limited to the ATF and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona?

7 September 2011
Seriously, dude: no reports -- NONE! -- concerning Operation Fast and Furious ever reached the upper levels of the Justice Department!

Because they so deserve a state.

Clinton: Don't Even Symbolically Recognize Jerusalem as Capital of Israel

New York Sun, 28 September 2011

...Secretary of State Clinton ... is warning that any American action, even symbolically, toward recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel must be avoided for the reason that it would jeopardize the peace process.

Her warnings were issued in a brief she has just filed with the Supreme Court — in which she is arguing that a law she voted for when she was Senator is unconstitutional because it could require the U.S. government to give to an American citizen born at Jerusalem papers showing the birthplace as Israel...

NY Senate candidate Hillary Clinton supports Jerusalem as capital of Israel

CNN, 9 July 1999

...Hillary Rodham Clinton says she considers Jerusalem to be the eternal and indivisible capital of Israel and will be an active advocate if elected to New Yorks Senate seat to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.

In a letter that became public Thursday, Mrs. Clinton wrote If I am chosen by New Yorkers to be their senator, or in whatever position I find myself in the years to come, you can be sure that I will be an active, committed advocate for a strong and secure Israel, able to live in peace with its neighbors, with the United States Embassy located in its capital, Jerusalem.

If you hadn't figured it out yet, here's a quick refresher course:

Because most Americans have conservative leanings, Democrats have to lie to get into office.

Could the President be brought down by a single poll?

Larwyn points us to a James Taranto Best of the Web snippet which reads:

...an intriguing observation from reader Tim Magee: "Could the President be brought down by a single poll? How about Obama vs. Hillary Clinton among Democrats? I think she could win that poll, and I don't think Obama could recover, regardless of whether Mrs. Clinton ran."

Let's find out. Somebody please commission that poll.

Oh, my.

I shudder to think what that might do to the fragile ego of our Narcissist-in-Chief.

Libya's New Regime: Daniel Pipes Fears the Worst

Emphases mine:

Many are ready to party about the political demise of the hated, eccentric, and foul Mu'ammar al-Qaddafi as rebel troops move into Tripoli. I am not partying. Here's why not.

The NATO intervention in March 2011 was done without due diligence as to who it is in Benghazi that it was helping. To this day, their identity is a mystery. Chances are good that Islamist forces are hiding behind more benign elements, waiting for the right moment to pounce, as roughly happened in Iran in 1978-79, when Islamists did not make clear their strength nor their program until the shah was well disposed of. Should that be the case in Libya today, then the miserable Qaddafi will prove to be better than his successors for both the Libyan subjects of tyranny and the West.

I hope I am wrong and the rebels are modern and liberal. But I fear that a dead-end despotism will be replaced by the agents of a worldwide ideological movement. I fear that Western forces will have brought civilization's worst enemies to power.

There have been a series of credible reports that NATO -- in its quest to dislodge Gaddafi -- was actually assisting the rise of Al Qaeda in Libya. Nothing I've read thus far leads me to believe otherwise.

Of course, as Hillary Clinton once promised us during her magnificent efforts to bring peace to the Middle East, perhaps they're like "the moderate Taliban" -- and open to reason.

Awesome: Former federal officials believe cartels may attempt to overthrow Mexican government next year... using U.S. weapons

Nothing instills confidence in truth, justice and the American way like Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama:

Former DEA and CIA Operatives: Los Zetas May Attempt to Overthrow Mexican Government in 2012 (Using U.S. Government Weapons)

By Carmen Álvarez (Translated by Mario Andrade from excelsior.com.mx)

Los Zetas use the border crossings of El Paso-Ciudad Juarez and Palomas-Columbus (both locations along the Texas-Chihuahua border) to supply and stockpile military type weapons, which would give them ability to disrupt the 2012 elections, according to the El Paso Times.

“Many of the weapons have been stored in safe houses. I think Los Zetas are storing them for the upcoming elections of 2012,” said Robert Plumlee, a former CIA pilot who has testified before Congress on drugs and weapons trafficking research.

The report is corroborated with an interview with Phil Jordan, former director of the DEA in El Paso, who stated that the stockpiles, which include anti-aircraft missiles, are transported from a Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. The consultant added that the criminals set up (phony) companies to buy weapons directly through a State Department program.

...The Border Patrol personnel and U.S. intelligence services have recently learned that Los Zetas have been purchasing properties on both sides of the border to store thousands of high-power weapons that were discovered to be part of five or six shipments that left the same airport where the DEA has its air operations center... ...[Los Zeta wants to] reinforce their troops for battling other cartels and possibly disrupt the 2012 elections in Mexico, El Paso Times reported yesterday.

“I believe Los Zetas are storing weapons for the election season (2012). They probably want to be included as part of the (new) government, “said Plumlee... [they are stockpiling] grenades, grenade launchers, antiaircraft missiles, body armor, radios, GPS devices, and night vision binoculars, among other items.

...the stockpiles of weapons are not only held at real estate properties that Los Zetas have purchased on both sides of the border, but in other locations throughout Mexico because it was found that a private company is taking advantage of the Direct Commercial Sales program under the U.S. State Department, which allows businesses to purchase high-power weapons which the U.S. exports worldwide... The global arms report, Small Arms Survey of 2011, from the Institute for International and Development Studies in Switzerland, said that Mexico was the number one importer in the world of RPG’s, and “under-barrel” grenade launchers, with 1,429 units being imported, followed in second place by Latvia with 250.

Speaking of government programs to route weapons to the Mexican drug cartels, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the latest from Sen. Chuck Grassley. He continues to doggedly pursue "Project Gunrunner" (or, as I like to call it, "KillGate").

Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, says the Obama administration may have launched a failed gun-tracking operation along the Mexican border because “they don’t like the Second Amendment” and want to “restrict guns.”

Grassley is leading the Senate’s investigation into Operation Fast and Furious, in which the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) knowingly allowed semi-automatic guns such as AK-47s to be straw-purchased in the U.S., then sent to Mexican drug trafficking organizations.

Operation Fast and Furious began in September 2009 but was halted after two of the weapons were found at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in December 2010... The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will hold a second hearing on the matter next week, on Tuesday...

Here's another theory: what if Obama, Clinton and Holder really did want to foment a civil war in Mexico? Their rationale: such a war would spark a "humanitarian crisis" and cause a mass exodus of civilians out of Mexico and into the U.S. The majority of this influx, Obama could legitimately assume, would vote Democrat.

Because when it comes to cynical, diabolical plots to weaken America, this administration appears to take a backseat to no one.

Goldilocks Clinton: Saddam Hussein was too mean, Assad isn't mean enough, but Gaddafi was just right!

If anyone can make sense of the gibberish emanating from the Obama foreign policy team, please let me know.

U.S. Won't Intervene in Syria as Assad Differs From Qaddafi, Clinton Says

Bloomberg - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the U.S. won’t enter into the internal conflict in Syria the way it has in Libya... Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad’s security forces clashed with protesters in several cities yesterday after his promises of freedoms and pay increases failed to prevent dissent from spreading across the country.

Clinton said the elements that led to intervention in Libya -- international condemnation, an Arab League call for action, a United Nations Security Council resolution -- are “not going to happen” with Syria, in part because members of the U.S. Congress from both parties say they believe Assad is “a reformer.”

“What’s been happening there the last few weeks is deeply concerning, but there’s a difference between calling out aircraft and indiscriminately strafing and bombing your own cities,” Clinton said, referring to Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi’s attacks on the Libyan people, “than police actions which, frankly, have exceeded the use of force that any of us would want to see.”

“Each of these situations is unique,” Clinton said, referring to the Middle Eastern countries dealing with change and unrest, a list that now includes Yemen, Jordan, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Syria and Bahrain.

Let's try to deconstruct the Democrats' foreign policy philosophy:

• Attacking Saddam Hussein's despotic regime in Iraq: Yes, then no (also: accuse Bush and/or the world's intelligence communities of lying).

• Supporting U.S. ally Hosni Mubarak in Egypt against the vicious Muslim Brotherhood: No.

• Attacking Muamar Gaddafi in Libya for slaughtering his own people: Yes.

• Attacking Iranian puppet Bashar Assad and his Hezbollah apparatus for slaughtering his own people: No.

• Attacking Iran and its pre-nuclear terror regime for slaughtering its own people: No.

"We need better judgment when we decide to send our young men and women into war, that we are making absolutely certain that it is because there is an imminent threat, that American interests are going to be protected, that we have a plan to succeed and to exit, that we are going to train our troops properly and equip them properly and put them on proper rotations and treat them properly when they come home. That is an argument we are going to have an easier time making if they can’t turn around and say: But hold on a second; you supported this. That’s part of the reason why I would be the strongest nominee on this argument of national security." --Candidate Barack Obama, Democratic Debate, 31 January 2008

I would pay good money to see this man polygraphed.

Officials in Egypt: SmartPower™ administration is issuing contradictory edicts and we don't know what to do

I think you'll agree that this story in the Washington Post represents the Obama administration in microcosm.

An Egyptian official says his government believes that White House demands for President Hosni Mubarak to step down immediately are in "clear contradiction" with Obama administration calls for an orderly transition to a new government.

...The official spoke on condition of anonymity, saying his government would not allow him to associate his name with the statement... [he] said in the statement: "There is a clear contradiction between an orderly process of transition and the insistence that this process be rushed."

There's only one word for an administration this competent: SmartPower™!

This Week With Christiane Amanpour in 90 Seconds [Biff Spackle]

Biff Spackle transcribed the digest version of ABC's rollicking Sunday talk show after waxing the lobby floors this morning at our world headquarters building.

AMANPOUR: This morning, a special "This Week." Egypt, a possible home to the Lost Ark of the Covenant and land of the pyramids, is now swept up in a political uprising with uncertain consequences. Uncertain that is, to everyone except Barack Obama, whose intellectual capacity is unparalleled, as we all know.

OBAMA: The United States will continue to talk about the rights of the Egyptian people while doing nothing. Let's sort it out after the dust settles.

AMANPOUR: We get the very latest from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who is following events closely from her den in Chappaqua. But first, a television appearance by Egypt's President Mubarak.

MUBARAK (through translator): The journey will be difficult. But someday we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal...

AMANPOUR: Perhaps the only one watching this situation as closely as ABC is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who joins us from her bunker in Chappaqua New York. Hillary, what steps you have taken to either assist President Mubarak or to promote Democrat freedoms in Egypt?

CLINTON: Absolutely nothing. We're carefully monitoring what's going on -- by the way, could your news broadcasts lighten up on the the E.D. commercials? And why are the people in these ads always in bathtubs outside --

AMANPOUR: Madam Secretary, do you believe that what Mubarak has done constitutes sufficient reform? Naming a VP, firing his cabinet?

CLINTON: We don't know. We just want to convey a very clear message of weakness. That we will do nothing either way. We'll talk out of both sides of our mouth and really won't encourage anyone, because we could take the wrong side.

AMANPOUR: A lot of the people here on the streets are telling us that they're angry, they think the U.S. is hedging its bets.

CLINTON: Damn straight. When President Obama visited Cairo early in his presidency, he alluded to the fact that he is going to vote 'present' on any issue of substance. We really don't want to be a superpower anymore. That's China's job now.

So, no -- we won't stand up to Iran, or Hezbollah's takeover of Lebanon, or the Muslim Brotherhood in Tunisia and Egypt, Hamas in Gaza, the terror-supporting nuts in Syria, or anyone else for that matter. Except Israel. They're easy to push around.

AMANPOUR: Thank you, Madame Secretary. And I'll email our producer about the E.D. ads.

Now -- you all know him. He used to be head of the feckless U.N. nuclear watchdog agency and an ally of the Muslim Brotherhood. His combination of skills got us a nuclearized Iran, so please put your hands together for... Mohamed ElBaradei!

[Applause]

AMANPOUR: Mr. ElBaradei, are the latest moves by President Mubarak sufficient, appointing a vice president, a prime minister?

ELBARADEI: Christiane, it doesn't even begin to address people's concerns. We need a new Constitution so we can move toward what I like to call an Islamic democracy. So we can get the hard-line Islamic government that all Democrat societies need and demand.

AMANPOUR: How do you assess the reaction of the U.S. administration?

ELBARADEI: What reaction?

AMANPOUR: But President Obama is saying that the rights of the people need to be protected and reforms need to happen.

ELBARADEI: But he's also saying that the government should remain in control. C'mon Christiane, here's a dollar -- buy a freaking clue. The guy wouldn't take a stand in the Illinois Senate over dollar slots at the racetrack. You think he's going to make a call on [BEEP]ing Egypt?

AMANPOUR: As you know, the world is concerned that if Mubarak falls that the Muslim Brotherhood, an organization that once sided with the Nazis in World War II, would take control.

ELBARADEI: That's bogus, dude! The Brotherhood is religious, but very, very peaceful. It's true that they've spawned and funded terror groups all over the world and been linked to Al Qaeda, but I can assure you that all they would like is a worldwide Caliphate and peace. But mostly a worldwide Caliphate.

AMANPOUR: Are the Islamists behind this uprising?

ELBARADEI: Uhm, no. No. Why not at all. Of course not. Why would you ask?

AMANPOUR: How do you think this is going to end?

ELBARADEI: Geez, Christiane. It's not exactly difficult to puzzle it out. We've got a revolution like Iran's, a Carter-like President who won't lift a finger to help a Shah-like figure, and lots of Islamic patriots flowing in from all over the world to help out. What do you think is going to happen?

AMANPOUR: Mr. ElBaradei, I wish I knew. Thank you for joining us.

ELBARADEI: Thank you very much, Christiane, for having me. Allah Akbar!

AMANPOUR: Well that's all the time we have. Please join us next week when we lob more softballs at incompetents and dupes both in the Democrat Party and abroad.

President Present Weighs in on Egyptian Crisis: U.S. Will 'Review Mideast Policy After ... Protests' End

The always enlightening Richard Fernandez points us to this delightful news report from the San Francisco Chronicle: 'Obama to Review Mideast Policy After Egyptian Protests'.

...the U.S. faces an urgent challenge as popular uprisings sweep the region: how to defend U.S. economic and security interests while supporting democratic values... While the U.S. president was careful not to side with the demonstrators over the Egyptian government, the White House also announced it would review assistance to Egypt, the fourth- largest recipient of U.S. aid in 2011...

...Farah Pandith, Obama's special representative to Muslim communities, said the administration has tried to reach out to the street as well as the rulers in the Middle East... [but some] democracy advocates in the region say Obama has recognized the movement too little, too late.

...The Obama administration's calls for reform in Egypt now are hopelessly behind the curve and may be interpreted in the region as "implicit American endorsement" of the regime, said Steven Cook, fellow for Middle Eastern Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington...

President Obama's response to the crisis was exactly what we've come to expect: he grabs a pair of teleprompters, makes a few speeches without saying anything of substance, and then sits around eating popcorn while watching events unfold.

Obama, Hillary, and the 796

The 2012 Democrat presidential nomination could be contentious this year. After the historic midterm beatdown suffered by the Party of Soros, things could get decidedly nerve-wracking for the Obama camp. In fact, the nomination process could come down to the votes of 796 "superdelegates" -- party insiders that retain a huge amount of influence (double that of the entire state of California). And after the 2010 thrashing, rumors are circulating that credible challengers -- perhaps including one Hillary Rodham Clinton -- could emerge to challenge Obama from the center. Heaven knows, there's a big freaking opening.

Which leads us to this trailer, courtesy of Biff Spackle's production company.

(Wind and thunder echoes in the background) 796

King Leonobama... riders from the Clinton camp are approaching...

Ickes... McCauliffe... and... Bill Clinton himself!?! W.T.F.??

You should have accepted the VP slot in 2008, my friend. Look where you've gotten us.

Where I've gotten us? I've accomplished more of Lenin's agenda in two years than you and Her Royal Thighness got done in eight! Socialized medicine... a takeover of two auto companies, the student loan business and the banks... the EPA shutting down energy supplies left and ri--

What you speak of is madness! This election debacle was historic all right... Hillary has aligned 80% of the big Democrat donors against you. You can step down gracefully -- say, for "health reasons" -- or you can face defeat on the field of the primaries.

I... am... Obama!!!

First... black... president... MY ASS!

Hillary's forces approach. Gather our soldiers and hide the women and children.

Sir! They have unleashed their legacy media archers! Their arrows blot out the sky!

Raise shields!

All is not lost. We still have our Axelrods! Obamans, attack!

Destroy them all -- but capture Chelsea if she's among them!

Aiiieeeeghghgh!! Barney Frank is watching!

Sir, we have vanquished the first wave of attackers!

Do not rest, my little sycophant. Look yonder... there approaches Hillary's elite phalanx of warriors!

No! Not them! The warriors of Mena, Whitewater and Roselaw... their very darkest forces gather... the most dangerous that the Clintons possess!

It can't be!! Not Begala and Carville! The most powerful enemies of all! Clinton backers disguised as "independent", mainstream media...

This is truly the end. We have no way to compete! Tonight... we dine... in hell!

Go tell George Soros, stranger passing by: that here, obedient to his will, we lie.

796. Resistance is futile.

Israel Braces for the Obama Administration's "Peace Dividend"

Dan from New York:

IDF Launches First NBC Defense Battalion

Tevet 6, 5771, 13 December 10 By Gil Ronen

The IDF has officially launched its first battalion specifically trained for dealing with the aftermath of nuclear/biological/chemical (NBC) attacks, named Yanshuf ('Owl'). An NBC unit by the same name has existed for a long time, according to the IDF website, but it has not been recognized as a full-fledged battalion until now.

...The new battalion was officially launched last week with Yanshuf's first battalion-level exercise. Yanshuf's companies drilled scenarios in which chemical warheads hit open spaces and and urban environments. They also rehearsed cooperation with a team from the Engineering Unit for Special Operations (Yahalom)...

...IDF Ground Forces Commander, Major General Sami Turjeman congratulated the new battalion's soldiers and hinted at the reason for the unit's upgraded status: concern over a possible confrontation with Syria.

..."We are here in the southern Golan Heights," he told the soldiers. "Not far away from us, the Syrians are preparing various capabilities that we need to prepare for. Our job is not to prepare for the conventional events but for the extreme scenarios, and Yanshuf Battalion is the spearhead of the [NBC] defense element..."

"... in the unlikely event Obama, Mitchell and Clinton don't bring us peace," he added.

Howard Dean Admits the Truth About Progressives: Overthrow of the U.S. Government Is Our Aim

It doesn't get any more plain than this interview with Howard Dean, former presidential candidate and chairman of the Democrat National Committee.

We almost came back in New Hampshire, Karen Hicks, who ran Hillary’s campaign, she’s a disciple of Marshall Ganz who’s a disciple of Saul Alinksy, Marshall Ganz is probably the best theoretical organizer today, he influenced Obama’s campaign very heavily...

Whether you know who Saul Alinsky is -- and what he stands for -- or not, Andrew McCarthy's description of his movement and its impact upon Obama bears repeating.

...the president is an Alinskyite, so steeped in the ideology of the seminal community organizer that he became a top instructor in Alinskyite tactics for other up-and-coming radicals...

...Alinksyites are fifth-column radicals. They have, in substance, the same goals as open revolutionaries: overthrowing the existing free-market republic and replacing it with a radical’s utopia. That’s why Obama could befriend such unrepentant former terrorists as Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, and take inspiration from Jeremiah Wright, a black-liberation theologist...

...But Alinskyites are more sophisticated, patient, and practical. They bore in, hollowing out the system from within, appropriating the appearance and argot of mainstream society. Their single, animating ambition is to overthrow the capitalist social order, which they claim to see as racist, corrupt, exploitative, imperialist, etc...

...Apart from that goal, everything else — from the public option to Afghanistan — is negotiable: They reserve the right to take any position on any matter, to say anything at any time, based on the ebb and flow of popular opinion. That keeps them politically viable while they radically transform society. Transform it into what, they haven’t worked out in great detail — except that it will be perfect, communal, equal, and just.

Alinsky proposed a variety of methods that radicals could use to tear American society apart. Violence was part of his equation.

Society has good reason to fear the Radical. Every shaking advance of mankind toward equality and justice has come from the Radical. He hits, he hurts, he is dangerous. Conservative interests know that while Liberals are most adept at breaking their own necks with their tongues, Radicals are most adept at breaking the necks of Conservatives...

...Radicals precipitate the social crisis by action - by using power... The Radical recognizes that constant dissension and conflict is and has been the fire under the boiler of democracy. He firmly believes in that brave saying of a brave people, "Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees!" ...

The Radical may resort to the sword but when he does he is not filled with hatred against those individuals whom he attacks. He hates these individuals not as persons but as symbols representing ideas or interests which he believes to be inimical to the welfare of the people... That is the reason why Radicals, although frequently embarking upon revolutions, have rarely resorted to personal terrorism"...

In short, Alinsky supported violence and terror to achieve the overthrow of American society.

And any person who runs under the banner of Alinsky should be disqualified from holding public office. They should be called precisely what they are: Communists.

There is no possible way that an adherent of Alinsky can sincerely take a pledge to uphold the Constitution.

Let me say that again, slowly, for the liberals: there is no valid method -- none whatsoever! -- for an Alinskyite to take a solemn oath to uphold the nation's highest law.

The Constitution is not a suicide pact. Allowing Alinskyites into positions of power is akin to permitting Nikita Khrushchev to name members of the cabinet during the height of the Cold War.

We need to call them what they are: Reds.

Wikileaks Upends U.S. Arabists (and Obama Too)

Dan from New York:

The Arabist argument goes something like this: Israel's "occupation" of the West Bank inflames the Muslim world and drives it away from America. Iran's nuclear program and its intention is surrounded in uncertainty and can't be known for sure. Attacking it now is not what Middle East countries want anyway. In fact, it would only make them angrier at us and even more livid about Israel. Ergo, keep the heat where it belongs - on the Jews.

Now see if you can square the Arabist party line with this: Saudi Arabia urges US attack on Iran to stop nuclear programme

It's reported the State Dept. called a number of countries to prepare them for the embarrassing revelations contained in the latest Wikileaks. I hope they had the decency to give a heads up to Walt, Mearsheimer, Chas Freeman, and their ilk too.

And Mere Rhetoric has some strong words for the Middle East 'experts' advising the White House.

It didn’t get nearly as much play as it should have, but Obama’s June 2009 meeting with Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah ended with the monarch flying into a tirade and more or less telling the President to get a grip. This was the Riyadh meeting that Obama took on his way to his insulting and failed Cairo Speech, the better to prepare himself by visiting “the place where Islam began.” The sit-down was such a disaster that Dennis Ross was hurriedly brought into the White House and given a broader role, yielding the impression that the President wanted a Middle East adviser who kind of understood something about the Middle East – and didn’t think he had one.

King Hamad pointed to Iran as the source of much of the trouble in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He argued forcefully for taking action to terminate their nuclear program, by whatever means necessary. “That program must be stopped,” he said. “The danger of letting it go on is greater than the danger of stopping it.”

Perhaps someone could loan Mearsheimer and Walt a few bucks so they can buy a clue.
