BLAST FROM THE PAST: Donald Trump and the Counterjihad

By Baron Bodissey

The photo above shows Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, Donald Trump, and Frank Gaffney at the launch of The United West in Miami, Florida on March 6, 2011.

Although he wasn’t mentioned in any of our reports on the event, I remembered that Mr. Trump had attended, and I asked Elisabeth to look for the photo. She couldn’t find the digital original, so the above image was made by scanning a printout of the photo — hence the inferior quality.

SHOCKER: Militant Quakers Busted in "Biggest Ever Food Stamp Fraud"

By Tyler Durden

While Wall Street has had its generous Federal Reserve sponsor for the past 8 years, literally printing money out of thin air, showering banks with risk-free profits and making the rich richer beyond their wildest dreams (although ever since the end of QE the pump has run dry), the rest of the US population was largely left to fend for itself. In the process, just as Wall Street demonstrated unprecedented creativity to come up with fraud that will make one's head spin (if never lead to an actual prison sentence), so did the "99%", the only difference being, of course, that for the mere mortals jail time is an all too certain outcome as are dramatic police raids.

This is the story of one such extremely creative if abhorrent crime, and raid, involving what may have been the biggest food-stamp crime ring bust in history.

As CSP reports, in Operation Stampede, what is being called the largest food-stamp trafficking takedown in history in terms of financial loss, law enforcement agencies filed federal charges last week against 22 Florida store owners or operators, including one convenience-store owner, in connection with schemes to illegally redeem food-stamp benefits for cash. Allegedly, the defendants fraudulently obtained more than $13 million dollars in EBT deposits for transactions in which the stores did not provide food.

Trump and the Road to Progressivism

By Robert Eno

Today, the New York Times reports that long-time Donald Trump advisor Roger Stone expects Trump to campaign to the “left of Hillary Clinton” on a variety of issues.  This of course is not a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin.  Levin has been warning about the progressive roots of populism for months now on his radio and television programs. The Trump camp has gone so far as to say every position Trump has taken up until now is just a “suggestion.”

DEAR DEMOCRATS: America Ain't Denmark

By Richard Larsen

At a recent Democrat presidential debate, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders said we “should look to countries like Denmark…and learn from what they have accomplished for their working people.” The good senator should either rephrase his statement, or look more closely at the data. Democratic-socialism may work in some places in Europe, but was never intended, nor can it work, in the United States of America.

Another of Sanders’ erroneous statements regarding Denmark was when he claimed that Denmark’s economic model “provides extraordinary security and opportunity.” It does provide security, but little opportunity, economic or otherwise.

The 10 Most Dangerous Lies About Criminal Justice "Reform"

By Daniel Horowitz

The cool kids in public policy circles these days are all about “criminal justice reform.” Their most immediate cause célèbre is the passage of the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act of 2015 (S.2123) [my analysis on the old version can be viewed here]. While we’ve covered this issue from many angles in the past, I felt a need to summarize the basic problems with its entire premise, as well as the specific legislation that, barring an outcry from the public, will come to the House and Senate floors this spring.

Astoundingly, some Republicans are trying to make the case that this is really part of a conservative agenda. Here is a list of talking points from their playbook to allure conservatives into supporting this bill and the broader effort in regards to criminal justice “reform.”

DAVID PETRAEUS GOES NUTS: Warns Americans Not to Succumb to "Islamophobia"

By Lawrence Sellin

Retired U.S. Army general and former CIA director David Petraeus recently wrote an article entitled "David Petraeus: Anti-Muslim bigotry aids Islamist terrorists."

Thank you, sir, for the clarification. Up until now, I had believed Barack Obama; that Islamic terrorism was caused by climate change.

Petraeus' premise is that "inflammatory political discourse...against Muslims and Islam...including proposals from various quarters for blanket discrimination against people on the basis of their religion... will compound the already grave terrorist danger to our citizens... directly undermine our ability to defeat Islamist extremists by alienating and undermining the allies whose help we most need to win this fight: namely, Muslims."

OH, NOES: More Clinton Emails!

By Judicial Watch

This week we received Department of State emails showing that, during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as

secretary of state, Laura Pena, a top aide to Clinton, helped push through the political appointment of Bryan Pagliano, a former Hillary for President IT director, to a political position in the IT group at the State Department.

Yes, that’s a bit odd.

HILARIOUS: DOJ that donated tens of thousands to Hillary certain to treat her crimes with the utmost of objectivity

By Matthew Vadum

Employees of the U.S. Department of Justice have given so much money to Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign this time around that critics justifiably doubt the agency can handle her private email server case fairly and impartially.

In what appears to be a super-sized potential conflict of interest, Clinton, a pathological, self-serving liar who doesn't mind if Americans die to further her political ambitions, has accepted almost $75,000 in campaign contributions in the current election cycle from employees at the Justice Department, the cabinet bureau that will eventually decide whether to prosecute the Benghazi bungler for her use of a hacker-friendly home-brew email server while top U.S. diplomat.

The server is at the heart of the scandal over Clinton's mishandling of an Islamic terrorist attack in militant-infested Benghazi, Libya on the 11th anniversary of 9/11 that left four Americans, including U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens, dead. Even now, almost four years after the assault, the Obama administration has failed to provide an autopsy report about Stevens who was initially reported to have been ritualistically sodomized before being murdered by Muslim terrorists.

FORMER OBAMA DEFENSE SEC: Yeah, Barry was never serious about stopping Iran from getting nukes

By The Tower

Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta would “probably not” believe that President Barack Obama was serious about his promise to take action to stop Iran from building a nuclear bomb if Panetta could make his assessments over again, he conceded in a New York Times Magazine article published on Thursday.

Panetta, who was the director of the CIA from 2009-2011 and then served as defense secretary until 2013, told reporter David Samuels that one of his most important jobs in the Pentagon was preventing Israel from launching a preemptive strike against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then-Defense Minister Ehud Barak wanted to know if the president was serious about his commitment to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

GRASSROOTS: Clinton Super PAC attacking Hillary Online Critics

Evan Halper at The Los Angeles Times describes the ongoing trainwreck that is the Hillary Clinton campaign. Vast right wing conspiracy, indeed.
Hillary Clinton's well-heeled backers have opened a new frontier in digital campaigning, one that seems to have been inspired by some of the Internet's worst instincts. Correct the Record, a super PAC coordinating with Clinton's campaign, is spending some $1 million to find and confront social media users who post unflattering messages about the Democratic front-runner.

In effect, the effort aims to spend a large sum of money to increase the amount of trolling that already exists online.

BOOM: 12 Versions of Hillary Clinton's Whitewater Indictments Emerge

By Judicial Watch

New details continue to emerge from Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information Act fight with the National Archives over the release of draft indictments of Hillary Clinton in the Whitewater case. According to the Archives, release of the indictments—drafted by an independent counsel examining the Clintons’ relationship to a corrupt Arkansas S&L and an alleged cover-up—would violate grand jury secrecy and Mrs. Clinton’s personal privacy. FOIA request denied.

Judicial Watch declined to take “no” for an answer, and so off to court we went. The case is now in the hands of a federal judge.

President Death

By Bill Whittle

Well, President Obama has just returned from an overseas visit, trying to convince Britain and Germany to sign his trade deal and generally butting into European politics in a way many had not expected when President Peace Prize descended from heaven to give the world the new, improved, “Smart Diplomacy.”

The latest international disaster occurred in Great Britain, when the President gave a speech urging the UK to remain in the European Union. Despite warnings from many quarters that such intrusion in the idea of the Brexit – the British Exit – would be less than appreciated, President Stupid went and did it anyway, prompting this reporter to ask the following:

BUMMER: Hillary to Face FBI Interrogators Within Weeks

By Tyler Durden

As we reported yesterday, just when Hillary thought the email scandal was behind her, and she could shift her focus to the newly minted GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, an order by Judge Emmet Sullivan of the U.S. District Court decided to lay out ground rules for interviewing multiple State Department officials, and ordered at least six current and former State Department employees to answer questions, all in an effort to finish the depositions in the weeks before the party nominating conventions.

OH, MY: More Hillary Emails That Were Hidden From State Department Probe Uncovered

By Judicial Watch

Judicial Watch today released new State Department emails (one batch of 103 pages, the second of 138 pages) that again appear to contradict statements by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that, “as far as she knew,” all of her government emails were turned over to the State Department and that she did not use her clintonemail.com system until March 18, 2009.

Judicial Watch recently released Clinton State Department emails dating from February 2009 that also call into question her statements about her emails.

ON TRUMP: Quotes of the Day

The Z Man:

We have two primaries going on in which immigration is the defining issue. On the one side, the guy promising to build a wall and bar Muslims from entry crushed the field, despite being outspent a million-to-one. On the other side, the old-time socialist, who preaches worker’s rights and obliquely opposes the immigration lobbies, is making life hell for the party candidate...

OUR FEDERAL HOUSING VOUCHER PROGRAM: The Poverty Creator

By Kathryn Watson

Federal officials spend more tax dollars on Section 8 housing vouchers than they do on cash welfare, and the program often perpetuates poverty rather than alleviating it, according to an urban housing expert.

“Its incentives are completely skewed,” Howard Husock, vice president for policy research and director of the Social Entrepreneurship Initiative at the Manhattan Institute, told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

“You’ve ‘hit the lottery’ and you’re set for life,” said Husock, referring to those who receive housing assistance for decades, a lifetime or even generations, while others wait for years on a waiting list. “Not only do you hit the lottery and you can sit back and have a housing unit for life, but remember, your deal is you pay 30 percent of your income in rent, but what it means is for every additional dollar you earn, you pay an additional 30 cents in rent,” he said.

RAMIREZ CARTOON: If You Can’t Beat ‘Em, Join ‘Em

The brilliant Michael Ramirez of Investors Business Daily illustrates the stark contrast between Constitutionalism and Populism.

And, with a sigh, this post's author intoned for the 828,000th time: "And for you hardcore Trump-supporting readers, I would vote for Trump in the general over a Democrat because I would vote for a used Kleenex over a Democrat. But, to be perfectly honest, I have no idea what Mr. Trump's real positions are and neither do you."
