Good news: Gunrunner weapons discovered on scene of Phoenix crimes

The Obama administration's, eh, unique strategy of selling weapons to Mexican drug cartels appears to have, uhm, backfired.

Weapons linked to a questionable government strategy are turning up in crimes in Valley neighborhoods... For months the ABC15 Investigators have been searching through police reports and official government documents. We’ve discovered assault weapons linked to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ controversial "Fast and Furious" case strategy have turned up at crime scenes in Glendale and Phoenix communities.

...Phoenix ATF agents recently testified during a Congressional hearing that they knowingly allowed weapons to slip into the hands of straw buyers who would then distribute the weapons to known criminals... [Agents] estimated the number could be as many as 1,800 weapons.

...“I believe that these firearms will continue to turn up at crime scenes on both sides of the border for years to come,” testified Phoenix Special Agent Peter Forcelli... Weapons linked to the strategy have been turning up at dangerous and deadly crime scenes near both sides of the border, including the murder scene of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, who was killed last December.

The ABC15 Investigators uncovered documents showing guns connected to at least two Glendale criminal cases and at least two Phoenix criminal cases also appear in the ATF’s Suspect Gun Database, a sort-of watch list for suspicious gun sales.

This is impeachment-level criminality. Perhaps legacy media could look into this when they finish their investigations of Michele Bachmann.

ICE agents warn Americans "to brace themselves for what's coming" as catch-and-release of illegals -- caught committing other crimes -- begins

You may have read that President Obama is now quietly offering a quasi-amnesty for illegal immigrants in a cynical attempt to rebuild his voting base.

Under his direction, new prosecution rules* put ICE agents in a bureaucratic box if they choose to prosecute illegals, with dozens of new, subjective guidelines. In essence, Obama is forcing ICE agents to release illegals even if they are caught committing crimes.

Just yesterday in Pennsylvania, ICE advised police to release three illegals who had been charged with speeding, driving without a license, without insurance, without registration, and providing police with false identification.

In response, the head of the ICE Agents' Union, which represents nearly 8,000 immigration enforcement personnel, has leveled withering criticism at the Obama administration for wantonly endangering American citizens.

"Any American concerned about immigration needs to brace themselves for what's coming," said Chris Crane, President of the National ICE Council which represents approximately 7,000 ICE agents, officers and employees, "this is just one of many new ICE policies in queue aimed at stopping the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws in the United States. Unable to pass its immigration agenda through legislation, the Administration is now implementing it through agency policy ... ICE worked hand-in-hand with immigrants rights groups, but excluded its own officers."

Agents say the policy is a "law enforcement nightmare" developed by the Administration to win votes at the expense of sound and responsible law enforcement policy. "The desires of foreign nationals illegally in the United States were the framework from which these policies were developed," Crane said, "the result is a means for every person here illegally to avoid arrest or detention, as officers we will never know who we can or cannot arrest."

..."Our officers are already under orders not to make arrests or even talk to foreign nationals in most cases unless another agency has already arrested them; you won't find that written in any public ICE policy."

..."I think the writing is on the wall for every person concerned about good government and effective immigration reforms - the things happening at ICE represent neither, said Crane, we are asking everyone to please email or call your Congressman and Senators immediately and ask them to help stop what's happening at ICE, we desperately need your help."

President Obama's new rules for U.S. immigration agents -- which can be legitimately described as a stealth amnesty -- are recklessly endangering American citizens.

Write your Congressman now and demand an investigation of ICE. Be polite, but firm. The lives of your family members may depend on it.

I'm no lawyer, but it would seem that this program and others like it -- Operation Gunrunner, for example -- could very well rise to impeachment level.

Good News: White House Bypasses Congress, Implements Amnesty For Illegal Aliens On Its Own

Runner-up headline: 'It is not a crime to be be here illegally'

Curious: I didn't read this in legacy media, but it seems that the Obama administration just bypassed Congress to implement its own amnesty program for illegal aliens. Never mind that our own elected representatives have rejected this sort of DREAM Act-style amnesty on eight (8) separate occasions.

President Barack Obama’s administration is quietly offering a quasi-amnesty for hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants, while aiming to win reelection by mobilizing a wave of new Hispanic voters... The new rules were quietly announced Friday with a new memo from top officials at the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. The “prosecutorial discretion” memo says officials need not enforce immigration laws if illegal immigrants are enrolled in an education center or if their relatives have volunteered for the US military...

...The Hispanic vote could be crucial in the 2012 election, because the Obama campaign hopes to offset its declining poll ratings by registering new Hispanic voters in crucial swing states... and [it] has maintained close ties to Hispanic advocacy groups, including La Raza. For example, La Raza’s former senior vice president and lobbyist, Cecilia Munoz, was hired by the Obama administration as director of intergovernmental affairs in 2009.

...When weighing whether an exercise of prosecutorial discretion may be warranted for a given alien, ICE officials, agents and attorneys should consider all relevant factors, including, but not limited to – the circumstances of the person’s arrival in the United States … particularly if the alien came to the United States as a young child; the Person’s pursuit of education… .. whether the person, or the person’s immediate relative, has served in the U.S. military,” said the memo.

The factors are extremely broad and very troubling … [it] look like a stealth DREAM Act enforcement through non-enforcement"... The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act has been repeatedly rejected by Congress from 2001 to 2010... In practice, the new memo won’t make much of a difference because “ICE isn’t deporting people now,” said Jessica Vaughan, an analyst at the Center for Immigration Studies...

...On Friday, officials also announced a new advisory panel intended “to implement policies stopping the [deportation and] removal of individuals charged with, but not convicted of, minor traffic offenses who have no other criminal history or egregious immigration violations.”

“It is not a crime to be be here illegally,” claimed B. Loewe, a spokesman for the National Day Laborers Organizing Network...

Let me repeat: in the formulation of the hard-left Democrats, for whom the ends always justify the means, "it is not a crime to be here illegally."

Doesn't that just say it all?

This cynical administration is both reckless and lawless. And it's more than past time to say the I-word. Rep. Issa, are you listening?

An Open Letter to Janet Napolitano [Papa B]

Papa B:

Dear Janet,

Would it be too much to ask that you hire someone smarter than a lemur to run TSA at the airports?

Because if the objective is to provide air safety, you are instead helping to destroy the airline industry, you are creating massive amounts of stress, and you are wasting billions of our tax dollars. But if the objective is to destroy the airline business, create stress and angst for travelers, and provide employment to thousands of marginally competent people, you are doing a superb job!

I am 75 years old, I have a defibrillator implant, and some of my more vital statistics include: (a) an American Express card holder since 1960; (b) a Delta Medallion member for over 20 years; and (c) have owned my home (my primary residence) for 15 years.

These facts are easily available from any of the credit reporting agencies. Let me also assert that it is extremely unlikely that any would-be terrorist would possess these attributes or metrics.

Nevertheless, since I cannot go through a scanner, I am routinely subjected to a 25-minute fondling at LaGuardia airport. Behind me and "stacked up" during this time are severely handicapped individuals in wheelchairs, elderly people with canes or walkers and, of course, the ever-dangerous group of small children.

At the very least, could you not locate a few smart people to do some basic studies of travelers that would separate, say, non-terrorists from possible terrorists by dint of measurable and meaningful characteristics? And please note: there's not a hint of racial profiling in what I suggest.

Nothing would do more to encourage air travel; nothing would do more to reduce stress; and nothing would save more money at TSA.

I feel certain that for all of these reasons, you will ignore this and other logical suggestions because of your bizarre ideological bent, the fact that you are a political hack, that you are a radical leftist, and that you are a Democrat.

But I repeat myself.

Sincerely, Papa B.

Operation Gunrunner explodes into legacy media: ATF agents rip gun sting effort on Mexico border

I'll make a prediction here and now: Eric Holder will not survive this.

...U.S. firearms agents told lawmakers on Wednesday they were instructed to only watch as hundreds of guns were bought, illegally resold and sent to Mexico where drug-related violence has raged for years ... they were told not to arrest the so-called straw buyers and instead see where the guns went.

Republicans and Democrats on the panel expressed outrage about the ATF program -- "Operation Fast and Furious" -- and demanded answers from the Obama administration about why arrests were secondary to tracking the firearms.

"We monitored as they purchased handguns, AK-47 variants and .50 caliber rifles, almost daily at times," John Dodson, an ATF special agent in Phoenix, told the committee... An ATF supervisor in Phoenix, Peter Forcelli, said some tried to raise concerns with supervisors but were rebuffed...

...Republicans and Democrats expressed outrage at the ATF program, particularly about two weapons being found at the scene where a U.S. Border Patrol agent, Brian Terry, was killed in a shootout with illegal immigrants... Republicans on the panel have demanded documents and information about the program from the Justice Department, which includes the ATF, but the Obama administration has resisted...

The most partisan Attorney General since John Mitchell appears to be unlawfully stonewalling Congress.

We, the American people, demand to know what Eric Holder knew and when he knew it.

Great news from the border: cartels kidnapping bus passengers for gladiatorlike fights to the death

As Mexico descends into all all-out civil war between drug cartels, the level of barbarism almost defies belief.

The elderly are killed. Young women are raped. And able-bodied men are given hammers, machetes and sticks and forced to fight to the death.

In one of the most chilling revelations yet about the violence in Mexico, a drug cartel-connected trafficker claims fellow gangsters have kidnapped highway bus passengers and forced them into gladiatorlike fights to groom fresh assassins.

...If what he says is true, gangsters who make commonplace beheadings, hangings and quartering bodies have managed an even crueler twist to their barbarity... Members of the Zetas cartel, he says, have pushed passengers into an ancient Rome-like blood sport with a modern Mexico twist that they call, "Who is going to be the next hit man?"

"They cut guys to pieces," he said... The victims are likely among the hundreds of people found in mass graves in recent months, he said... In the vicinity of the Mexican city of San Fernando, nearly 200 bodies were unearthed from pits, and authorities said most appeared to have died of blunt force head trauma.

Many are believed to have been dragged off buses traveling through Mexico, but little has been said about the circumstances of their deaths... The trafficker said those who survive are taken captive and eventually given suicide missions, such as riding into a town controlled by rivals and shooting up the place.

40,000 people have died in Mexico's ongoing civil war over the past several years.

Just Thursday, authorities in Mexico said they arrested members of the Zetas and seized 201 automatic weapons, 600 camouflage uniforms and 30,000 rounds of ammunition... With the recent killing of the ICE agent and perhaps other attacks, the Zetas also are breaking the golden rule for Mexican traffickers: Don't kill Americans, he said. It brings too much heat.

...the [drug] checkpoints Mexican officials operate along the highways between Central Mexico and the border do not pose much of a problem, Juan said... The trick, he confided, is to send someone in advance to bribe a commander so a drug load won't be bothered.

These incidents, of course, highlight the egregious failure of the federal government to secure the border.

The Tucson Citizen reports that many Arizonans believe illegal aliens are to blame for the massive wildfires now engulfing the state.

The two largest wildfires burning in Southern Arizona originated in rugged, mountainous corridors frequently used by cross-border people and drug smugglers... And the U.S. Forest Service has determined that both fires were human-caused.

So even though the investigations remain open, speculation is ablaze that illegal immigrants or smugglers are responsible for the Horseshoe 2 Fire northeast of Douglas and the Murphy Complex Fire northwest of Nogales.

“It’s definitely not caused by somebody on a picnic whose wiener overcooked,” resident Brad Titcomb said about the Murphy Fire, which came within a mile of his house in the Aliso Springs neighborhood west of Tubac. “This is illegal traffic one way or another.”

Which makes the failure of the Obama administration to secure the border all the more outrageous.

Authorities "do not yet have a motive" of suspect who tried to break into American Airlines cockpit while shouting "Allahu Akbar!"

I, for one, suspect that Militant Quakers are behind this, the third major airline disturbance in 24 hours.

The passengers sat stunned as they watched a man walk quickly toward the front of American Airlines Flight 1561 as it was descending toward San Francisco. He was screaming and then began pounding on the cockpit door...

Within moments Sunday, a flight attendant tackled Rageh Almurisi. Authorities do not yet have a motive.

While authorities said that Almurisi, 28, of Vallejo, Calif., has no clear or known ties to terrorism, the incident underscored fears that extremists may try to mount attacks to retaliate for the death of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden last week.

Federal agents are investigating Almurisi's background. He was carrying a Yemeni passport and a California identification card, authorities said...

...passengers on the plane were stunned when they saw Almurisi walking down the aisle. She said a woman in a row across from her who speaks Arabic translated that Almurisi said "God is Great!" in Arabic... Andrew Wai, another passenger, told KGO-TV on Monday that the wife of one of the men who took Almurisi down later said Almurisi was yelling "Allahu Akbar."

"There was no question in everybody's mind that he was going to do something," Marty said...

Worry not, dear citizens. We have crack investigative minds like Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano on the case; they will certainly be able to deduce the true motive of Mr. Almurisi given enough taxpayer dough, time, resources and race-baiting.

Good News: Radical Muslim Separatist Groups Now Actively Trying to Undermine Border Security Between Canada and Michigan

What do you get when you cross CAIR with Eric Holder's Justice Department and Janet Napolitano's DHS?

Long-term, I'd wager on needlessly dead Americans.

The U.S. government has launched an investigation into allegations that federal agents at several U.S.-Canada border crossings in Michigan repeatedly harassed, jailed and body searched Muslims because of their background or appearance... The investigation comes in response to complaints filed in March by the Council on American-Islamic Relations with the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security.

...every time Wissam Charafeddine of Dearborn has crossed the border into the U.S. from Canada in the last three years, he says he has been detained, fingerprinted and body searched... One time, he said, he was separated from his family and jailed in a cold cell for five hours as his 1-year-old daughter cried for milk.

...One of the 10 complaints by local Muslims involves Imam Ali Suleiman Ali, head of the Canton Mosque, one of the larger Islamic centers in metro Detroit... He described a recent border crossing in which he says agents handcuffed and detained him while asking him, "Where's your mosque?" and "What Islamic organizations do you belong to?" Ali described several other similar situations at borders or airports in the past five years.

... "Why do I have to be treated like a terrorist?"

The theme of undermining border security measures is a consistent one for this particular Imam.

Saying that body scanners violate Islamic law, Muslim-American groups are supporting a fatwa — a religious ruling — that forbids Muslims from going through the scanners at airports. The Fiqh Council of North America ... issued a fatwa last week that says going through the airport scanners would violate Islamic rules on modesty...

...Two members of the Fiqh Council are from Michigan, Imam Hassan Qazwini of the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn, and Imam Ali Suleiman Ali of the Canton Mosque. “Fiqh” means Islamic jurisprudence...

...The Council on American-Islamic Relations, which has a chapter in Michigan, says it endorses the fatwa. “We support the Fiqh Council’s statement on full-body scanners and believe that the religious and privacy rights of passengers can be respected while maintaining safety and security,” said Nihad Awad, national executive director of CAIR.

Their actions make it clear that CAIR and "the Fiqh Council" are dedicated to weakening America's security posture.

And it doesn't have a bit to do with religion. It has to do with promoting a political system -- Sharia law -- that just happens to be conveniently wrapped in the protective coating of a religion.

It seems perfectly obvious that Sharia is what CAIR and the other radical Muslim separatist groups are after. And with terror defenders and apologists like Eric Holder in charge of the DOJ, they're likely to get much of what they want.

The price of border insecurity: Hezbollah operating across the border from San Diego, infiltrating U.S. communities

ABC-10 in San Diego offers another ominous report from the border.

[Hezbollah] has established another home base across the border in Mexico [and] is far more advanced [than Al Qaeda].

"Their operators are far more skilled … they are the equals of Russians, Chinese or Cubans," he said. "I consider Hezbollah much more dangerous in that sense because of strategic thinking; they think more long-term... "They have had clandestine training in how to live in foreign hostile territories," the agent said... [and] Hezbollah is partnering with drug organizations... He told 10News the group receives cartel cash and protection in exchange for Hezbollah expertise.

"From money laundering to firearms training and explosives training," the agent said.

For example, he tracked, along with Mexican intelligence, two Hezbollah operatives in safe houses in Tijuana and Durango... Why have Americans not heard more about Hezbollah's activities happening so close to the border?

...According to the agent, the organization sees the U.S. as their "cash cow," with illegal drug and immigration operations. Many senior Hezbollah leaders are wealthy businessmen, the agent said.

"The money they are sending back to Lebanon is too important right now to jeopardize those operations," he said... The agent said the real concern is the group's long-term goal of radicalizing Muslim communities.

"They're focusing on developing … infiltrating communities within North America," the agent told 10News.

Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) reinforces the necessity for a U.S.-Mexico border fence.

We have evidence that Hezbollah is active in Mexico... Recently, there was an explosion that killed several people in Mexico. The bomb used was an improvised explosive device like those seen in the Middle East. Hezbollah and the Mexican drug cartels are working in tandem. This is not good news for Americans.

Given Eric Holder's tacit support of terrorism -- from his pathetic law firm to his insistence that terrorists be tried in civilian courts -- perhaps we know why Operation Gunrunner was funneling weapons to points south.

Because he wanted them there.

It's time to build a damn fence already. It's downright criminal that the one thing the federal government is supposed to do -- protect American sovereignty -- it won't do.

Great News: Mass Graves Discovered in Failed Narco-Terror State on Our Unprotected Southern Border

Curious: I didn't read this in legacy media.

The body count from two areas of mass graves in Mexico had grown to 279, the government announced. In Tamaulipas, forensics had pulled 183 bodies from the mass graves. In Durango state to the west, the government had found 96 bodies to date. Both states are disputed territories but little is known of the motives for the killings...

...In Tamaulipas, the Zetas are battling the Gulf Cartel for control of this lucrative corridor. Numerous victims were pulled from buses as they traveled north and bludgeoned with sledge hammers, authorities reported. In Durango, as InSight has pointed out, the battle may be internal between members of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Good thing that President Obama's Justice Department is suing Arizona so we can import more of this Hamas-style violence.

DHS Insider: White House Silencing Reports That Border Patrol Has Caught Iranians, Syrians and Yemenese on Mexico-Arizona Border

"Vinnie", a caller from Long Beach, California on last night's Mark Levin radio program, told a brief, chilling tale of border insecurity.

You need to get this out to the people. I became aware about OTMs [Other Than Mexicans] coming over the border.

I work for Homeland [Security] and in our prisons right now, we have, Iranians, Afghanis, Pakistanis, Yemenese, Syrians... and our Border Patrol has found... the drug cartels are going to smuggle terrorists and terrorist weapons across our porous borders... especially in Arizona [Ed: would that be the same Arizona that the Obama administration's Justice Department has sued for enforcing immigration law? Why, yes, it would be]...

...So, we need to secure the borders -- and I don't know why this administration has not done anything... previous administrations have not done anything... this is a major issue. We are going to be hit from within. It's not going to come from outside, it's going to come from within...

...The [American] people are in the dark. They don't know what's going on. We apprehended more than a quarter-of-a-million illegals last year. Hundreds -- hundreds -- of those were OTMs. So this is a big concern and we need to get this [news] out in the open.

Just over the border in the failed narco-terror state of Mexico, we've seen the following ominous developments:

Hezbollah-style car-bombs
Al-Qaeda-style beheadings
A mass grave with nearly 300 bodies in it, including children -- bludgeoned to death

And, lest we forget, Arizona is now the kidnapping capital of the U.S.

But rather than protect the border, the cynical Obama administration and its Democrat sycophants are suing states like Arizona for enforcing the nation's immigration laws.

Remember in 2012.

Officials now finding IEDs on bridges in 'safe as it's ever been' border area

If I were to pick who is the biggest disaster in the Obama administration, starting with Geithner, Holder, Napolitano and including Obama himself, it would resemble one of those electronic horse racing games. They're all neck and neck, back and forth, until someone wins. And the winner varies randomly, depending upon the time of day.

Consider, if you will, this delightful news story published by KRGV (Rio Grande Valley, TX), headlined "Improvised Explosive Device Discovered On An Overpass In Brownsville".

Police say a passerby on the southbound side of Highway 77 noticed what looked like a grenade near the FM 1732 overpass and alerted authorities around 5 p.m. Sunday.

The improvised explosive device or I-E-D was disarmed by a bomb squad using a robot...

No one was hurt...

...Parts of Highway 77 were closed for several hours.

Police are continuing to investigate.

It wasn't too long ago that Stratfor reported that IEDs and car bombs are becoming commonplace in Mexico as the failed narco-terror state collapses from within.

Last July, "a car bomb ... was detonated with the same kind of sophistication that is used by terrorist groups like Hezbollah."

In fact, Hezbollah has been operating in Mexico for a number of years, thanks to funding from Iran.

And our border remains wide open with states that dare to enforce existing immigration law targeted by the Obama administration.

I don't know who said it, but it rings true: "Lawlessness begets lawlessness."

Good news: Photos capture TSA repelling toddler terrorist threat with intrusive grope-downs of 6-year olds

Cartels Threaten to Kill Texas Rangers and ICE Agents as GAO Finds That Less Than 7% of Southern Border Is Secure

There's incompetence and then there's Janet Incompetano.

Richard M. Stana, director of homeland security and justice issues at the Government Accountability Office (which is responsible for “auditing agency operations to determine whether federal funds are being spent efficiently and effectively”), told the Senate Homeland Security Committee yesterday that the federal government can actually prevent or stop illegal entries into the United States along only 129 miles of the 1,954-mile-long U.S.-Mexico border.

That leaves 1,825 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border where the Border Patrol cannot prevent or stop an illegal entry.

To add to the good news, the Mexican drug cartels -- now more powerful than the armed forces of some African countries -- are threatening to kill Texas Rangers and ICE agents.

A new law enforcement bulletin warns that members of drug cartels have been overheard plotting to kill federal agents and Texas Rangers who guard the border, officials in Washington reported Thursday.

The bulletin, which was issued in March, said cartel members planned to use AK-47 assault rifles to shoot agents and Rangers from across the border.

But whatever you do, Barry and Janet, don't -- do not -- build a security fence.

I mean, what's a few thousand violent crimes a year versus many times that number of fraudulent Democrat votes?

These news stories go hand-in-hand with those exposing "Project Gunrunner", the biggest White House scandal in modern history, yet one that has been curiously underplayed by legacy media. Only excellent original reporting by CBS News has broken through the censorship of state-run media.

"Project Gunrunner" was a bizarre ATF project -- run by the likes of Janet Napolitano and Eric Holder -- that allowed weapons to flow to the Mexican drug cartels. Straw buyers for the cartels purchased nearly 600 AK-47s from Arizona gun shops, over the objections of the owners.

Sources tell CBS News several gun shops wanted to stop the questionable sales, but ATF encouraged them to continue...

Jaime Avila was one of the suspicious buyers. ATF put him in its suspect database in January of 2010. For the next year, ATF watched as Avila and other suspects bought huge quantities of weapons supposedly for "personal use." They included 575 AK-47 type semi-automatic rifles.

ATF managers allegedly made a controversial decision: allow most of the weapons on the streets. The idea, they said, was to gather intelligence and see where the guns ended up. Insiders say it's a dangerous tactic called letting the guns, "walk."

One agent called the strategy "insane." Another said: "We were fully aware the guns would probably be moved across the border to drug cartels where they could be used to kill."

On the phone, one Project Gunrunner source (who didn't want to be identified) told us just how many guns flooded the black market under ATF's watchful eye. "The numbers are over 2,500 on that case by the way. That's how many guns were sold - including some 50-calibers they let walk."

50-caliber weapons are fearsome. For months, ATF agents followed 50-caliber Barrett rifles and other guns believed headed for the Mexican border, but were ordered to let them go. One distraught agent was often overheard on ATF radios begging and pleading to be allowed to intercept transports. The answer: "Negative. Stand down."

CBS News has been told at least 11 ATF agents and senior managers voiced fierce opposition to the strategy. "It got ugly..." said one. There was "screaming and yelling" says another. A third warned: "this is crazy, somebody is gonna to get killed."

Indeed, it would appear that at least two federal agents may have been killed by guns supplied by Napolitano and Holder.

If there has been a more feckless, dangerous and ill-intentioned administration in American history, I have yet to read about it.

It would appear that only one demographic group meets the demanding Napolitano standard for terrorists: white conservatives

News flash: the most dangerous domestic terror threats these days aren't Islamists, MS-13 gang members, or even ex-SEIU revolutionaries.

No, the most diabolical terrorists are Constitutional conservatives who have asked that the federal government enforce its own immigration laws.

...In a document dated March 21, 2011, the Pottawattamie County [Iowa] Emergency Management Agency in conjunction with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), Pottawattamie county officials outlined their emergency response plan for a mock school shooting/terrorism exercise scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Treynor Community Schools.

The plan, Operation Closed Campus, is described as a full scale plan and exercise used to educate players in the proper response of a domestic terrorism or school shooting.

Troublesome to parents and community members is the proposed scenario to be acted out by the students, staff, faculty members, and emergency response teams.

The scenario details two white males, ages 17 and 18, with ties to anti-immigration groups and gun enthusiasts, opening fire on a group of minority students, hitting a Hispanic student.

The scenario then develops into “full-scale chaos” with both white male suspects shooting indiscriminately.

Makes sense.

Because all of the other man-caused disasters in the last 20 years have involved anti-immigration gun enthusiasts.

Don't worry about the National Guard leaving the border in June--84% of all illegals caught last year were never prosecuted anyway

Tell me the first thing that pops into your head when I say the words "Janet... Napolitano."

On second thought, don't bother. This is a family blog.

Allow me to present "84% of Illegals Caught in 2010 Never Prosecuted":

An illegal alien apprehended by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency during the last fiscal year had an estimated 84 percent chance of never being prosecuted... Of 447,731 illegal aliens apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol during fiscal year 2010 (which ended last September), only 73,263 (16.4 percent) were prosecuted, according to the submitted data. That means that 374,468 illegal aliens that were taken into custody (83.6 percent) were never prosecuted...

...CBP divides the almost 2,000-mile-long U.S.-Mexico border into nine sectors. Running from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf Coast they are, in order, San Diego, El Centro, Yuma, Tucson, El Paso, Marfa, Del Rio, Laredo, and Rio Grande... of the 212,202 apprehensions along Arizona’s Tucson sector – which is where most of the apprehensions took place in FY2010 – only 30,748 (14.5 percent) led to prosecutions.

Testifying before the House Homeland Security Committee on Feb. 9, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano told lawmakers that her “top priority in terms of effective control is the Tucson sector of the southwest border.”

Napolitano's statement, as you might expect, is at complete odds with what's really happening. Please consider "National Guard troops off the US-Mexico border June 30."

Nine months after President Obama agreed to pay for emergency deployment of 1,200 National Guard troops along the southwest border, plans are in place to withdraw the reinforcements — including 285 National Guard troops in Texas.

Isn't it interesting? The one thing the federal government is supposed to do -- protect the citizenry from invaders -- it won't do.

And the things it is expressly prohibited from doing by the Constitution -- interfering in your health care choices, telling you what kind of light bulbs you can buy, what kind of toilets you can use, managing every aspect of your lives -- it can't stop meddling with.

Which is why this administration must be flushed from office in 2012 -- in fact, flushing twice would be better to ensure the hangers-on are removed from the bowl.

Slaughtering the Innocents that Americans Won't Slaughter: MS-13 Gang Members Wreak Bloody Havoc Thanks to Open Borders Policy

Another day, another senseless crime committed by a violent illegal alien gang member who simply strolled across our unprotected southern border.

MS-13 gang member yelled 'the beast has eaten!' after murder of man he mistook for a Blood

An MS-13 gang member whooped it up, shouting "The beast has eaten!" after murdering a Queens man he mistook for a rival Blood, a government witness testified Thursday.

Julio Chavez is charged with emptying his revolver into Maurice Parker on May 18, 2007, in Flushing... Chavez then hopped into a SUV, flashed gang signs and yelled in Spanish, former MS-13 gang member Jose Molina said in Brooklyn Federal Court.

" 'Yeah, homie, that's how you're supposed to do it,'" Chavez said, according to Molina. "'You see the blood coming out of his head? ... The beast has eaten! ' "

Parker, 21, was not a Blood and was mistakenly targeted because he had on red sweatshirt... Chavez and other members of a Long Island-based MS-13 crew allegedly went hunting for a Blood to retaliate for an earlier stabbing.

Lest you think this is just an isolated incident, in the New York area alone the following headlines describe the wave of crimes precipitated by gang members in this country illegally.
No country can long survive with a combination of open borders, lax immigration enforcement and limitless benefits for illegal aliens.

Misunderstanderer of Islam accused of attempting to use chemical weapons and IEDs in Lubbock, Texas

I, for one, blame the militant Quakers.

Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari, 20, a citizen of Saudi Arabia and resident of Lubbock, Texas, was arrested late yesterday by FBI agents in Texas on a federal charge of attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction in connection with his alleged purchase of chemicals and equipment necessary to make an improvised explosive device (IED) and his research of potential U.S. targets...

...The affidavit alleges that on Feb. 1, 2011, a chemical supplier reported to the FBI a suspicious attempted purchase of concentrated phenol by a man identifying himself as Khalid Aldawsari ... Frustrated by questions being asked over his phenol order, Aldawsari cancelled his order and later e-mailed himself instructions for producing phenol. The affidavit alleges that in December 2010, he successfully purchased concentrated nitric and sulfuric acids.

...Aldawsari used various e-mail accounts in researching explosives and targets, and often sent emails to himself as part of this process. On Feb. 11, 2011, for instance, he allegedly e-mailed himself a recipe for picric acid, which the e-mail describes as a "military explosive." He also allegedly sent himself an e-mail on Oct. 19, 2010 that contained information on the material required for Nitro Urea, how to prepare it, and the advantages of using it.

The affidavit alleges that Aldawsari also e-mailed himself instructions on how to convert a cellular phone into a remote detonator and how to prepare a booby-trapped vehicle using items available in every home. One e-mail allegedly contained a message stating that "one operation in the land of the infidels is equal to ten operations against occupying forces in the land of the Muslims..."

...Two legally authorized searches of Aldawsari's apartment conducted by the FBI in February 2011 indicated that the concentrated sulfuric and nitric acids; the beakers and flasks; wiring; Hazmat suit; and clocks were present in Aldawsari's residence.

FBI agents also found a notebook at Aldawsari's residence that appeared to be a diary or journal. According to the affidavit, excerpts from the journal indicate that Aldawsari had been planning to commit a terrorist attack in the United States for years. One entry describes how Aldawsari sought and obtained a particular scholarship because it allowed him to come directly to the United State and helped him financially, which he said "will help tremendously in providing me with the support I need for Jihad ... And now, after mastering the English language, learning how to build explosives and continuous planning to target the infidel Americans, it is time for Jihad."

In another entry, Aldawsari allegedly wrote that he was near to reaching his goal and near to getting weapons to use against infidels and their helpers. He also listed a "synopsis of important steps" that included obtaining a forged U.S. birth certificate; renting a car; using different driver's licenses for each car rented; putting bombs in cars and taking them to different places during rush hour; and leaving the city for a safe place.

...Aldawsari conducted research on various targets and e-mailed himself information on these locations and people. One of the documents he sent himself, with the subject line listed as "Targets," allegedly contained the names and home addresses of three American citizens who had previously served in the U.S. military and had been stationed for a time at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

In another e-mail titled "NICE TARGETS 01," Aldawsari allegedly sent himself the names of 12 reservoir dams in Colorado and California. In another e-mail to himself, titled "NICE TARGETS," he listed two categories of targets: hydroelectric dams and nuclear power plants. On Feb. 6, 2011, the affidavit alleges, Aldawsari sent himself an e-mail titled "Tyrant's House," in which he listed the Dallas address for former President George W. Bush. The affidavit also alleges that Aldawsari conducted research that could indicate his consideration of the use of infant dolls to conceal explosives and possible targeting of a nightclub with an explosive concealed in a backpack.

Let me venture a guess: this slimeball entered the U.S., enrolled in a chemistry curriculum, and learned how to wage Jihad thanks to one of President Obama's "outreach to the Muslim world" programs.

Which just about sums up this feckless administration in a sentence.

The letter to Boehner and Reid you never heard about in legacy media

David Freddoso does his usual fine work, highlighting this letter to the titular heads of both chambers of Congress (note to Chuck Schumer: chambers, not branches). The authors urge Congress to pass legislation halting implementation until such time as the constitutionality of Obamacare can be resolved.

Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Reid,

On Monday Florida judge Robert Vinson issued a ruling on the 26-state lawsuit against the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and found the law and its individual mandate to buy health insurance unconstitutional. Following after Virginia Judge Henry Hudson’s decision, the Florida ruling becomes the second significant case to deem the law unconstitutional, throwing into serious question whether it will survive judicial scrutiny. While we wait for the Supreme Court’s final ruling, expected to come down in late 2012 to 2013, taxpayers are presently being forced to pay for billions of dollars to implement a law that may soon be void.

At a time when our country faces an unsustainable $14 trillion debt, we hope there can be bi-partisan agreement that it would be fiscally imprudent to unnecessarily waste taxpayer dollars. Therefore, today we are writing to respectfully urge you to pass legislation halting implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act until the Supreme Court issues a final verdict.

Sincerely,

Meanwhile the administration says the unconstitutional law will continue to be implemented -- directly contravening the federal court.

Congress must drag Kathleen Sebelius and Eric Holder into a hearing and demand answers as to whether they are complying with the court. And the state attorneys general must petition the judge to hold the administration in contempt.

And that's just for starters.

Memo to Each HHS Employee Working on Implementing Obamacare: How Would '10 Years in Federal Prison for Violating 18 USC 641' Look On Your Resume?

Now that a federal judge has obliterated Obamacare by ruling it unconstitutional, Alaska's governor is asking the obvious question: would continuing to spend money implementing an unconstitutional law represent fraud against the U.S. taxpayer?

Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell is asking his attorney general to advise him on whether implementing the federal health care overhaul would put Parnell in violation of his oath of office.

A federal judge in Florida this week struck down the law as unconstitutional in a case joined by 26 states, including Alaska. A major point of contention is a provision requiring citizens to buy health insurance... Parnell says he took an oath to support and defend the constitutions of the United States and Alaska. While the Republican governor concedes the issue is expected to be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court, he says he has a duty to uphold the law and wants the attorney general to advise him on what the duty is after the Florida ruling.

Parnell is doing the right thing, according to Mark Levin, president of Landmark Legal Foundation. Levin points to 18 USC 641, which reads as follows:

Whoever embezzles, steals, purloins, or knowingly converts to his use or the use of another, or without authority, sells, conveys or disposes of any record, voucher, money, or thing of value of the United States or of any department or agency thereof, or any property made or being made under contract for the United States or any department or agency thereof...

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; but if the value of such property in the aggregate, combining amounts from all the counts for which the defendant is convicted in a single case, does not exceed the sum of $1,000, he shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.

In other words, anyone caught frittering away the taxpayers' money working on a nonexistent law is guilty of fraud.

Those who excuse the government's behavior by pointing to the fact that Judge Vinson did not issue an injunction would do well to read the actual decision.

Although concluding that PPACA was "void," Judge Vinson did not issue an injunction against enforcement of the act. The Court said that its declaratory judgment was the "functional equivalent of an injunction" because of the presumption that officials of the Executive Branch will adhere to the law as declared by the courts. "Thus, the award of declaratory relief is adequate and separate injunctive relief is not necessary." Id., page 75.

There was no need for an injunction: the entire law is dust. Kaput. Bupkis. Nada. Dead.

And, wonder of wonders, even The New York Times published an erudite letter-to-the-editor describing the malfeasance necessary for the government to claim penultimate power over the individual by ladling non-existent federal powers into the Commerce Clause.

To the Editor:

“Judicial Activism on Health Reform” (editorial, Feb. 2) calls Judge Roger Vinson’s ruling that the law is unconstitutional an example of overreach.

True overreach would be to find that within the power to regulate commerce among states is the power to force people to spend their money for a product favored by the federal government. What next, a law forcing people to buy G.M. cars in order to support the economy and protect the employment of federally subsidized workers? If the government can do the former it can surely do the latter.

If the commerce clause is interpreted that broadly, then there are no limits. If the government wants to nationalize the health system and be honest about the costs, present and future, then it should tax and borrow to support it. But please do not applaud the sophistry that forcing people to spend their private resources for a particular product, however attractive, can have anything whatever to do with regulating commerce among the states.

Ron Holdaway
Draper, Utah, Feb. 2, 2011

Well done, Mr. Holdaway. Well done.

Now, Republicans in the House: isn't it time you dragged Kathleen Sebelius and Eric Holder in to testify as to whether they are complying with the court? As for you state Attorneys General, isn't it time you petitioned Judge Vinson to hold the federal government in contempt for continuing to implement a law that doesn't exist?

These Leftists are playing hard-ball. And I'm sick of the McCains and Grahams who pretend that this country isn't at a crossroads. It is. Hell, even Robert Rubin -- Bill Clinton's economic genius -- is warning of an economic collapse. It's time to stop screwing around, Republicans. Get to stepping!
