Stunning photos: Janet Napolitano heralds border drug bust as proof that US-Mexico security is 'as secure now as it has ever been'

This delightful missive appears to have circulated on the inter-tubes for a few weeks and I was struck by two things. First, the fact that Janet Napoli-Reno believes that our border is as secure as it has ever been.

The second thought -- after the intermission.

And here you have an industrious Mexican national, just simply on her way to visit friends and relatives across the international border in Arizona, all the while passing through the port of entry at Nogales, Arizona probably daily.

After all, she's only 94 years old, so what harm could this Mexican do. Well, I'll be dipped. What's all that padded stuff affixed to her body, underneath her dress. Well, after the dress was removed, loooookeeee here at what we have. Why it's only 10.45 pounds of marijuana strapped to her body.

Can we blame her? After all, she's probably just supplementing her Social Security check she gets monthly at her P.O. box on the American side. And one can't help but wonder how many of these such trips has she already made across the border, toting 10.75 pounds of marijuana daily.

Hang it up lady, as it's time for you to retire permanently in Mexico.

Okay, the second thought struck me like a lightning bolt.

Imagine the desperation and/or viciousness that inspires nonagenarian drug smugglers. In either case, sealing the border is the one damn thing the federal government is supposed to do -- and yet, our Democrat leaders can't be bothered with that. They're too busy putting up Stimulus road signs and nationalizing health care.

Oh, and lastly, if these are the kinds of folks our dramatically understaffed and overworked Border Patrol is catching, just who in the hell is getting through? On the other hand, I'm not sure we want to know.

Two Photos That Illustrate the Unfettered Lunacy of the Democrat Party

Welcome to the logic of the left.

The TSA under Janet NapoliReno is busy spending hundreds of millions of the taxpayers' dollars on sophisticated full-body scanners capable of detecting weapons and explosives almost at the molecular level. Every airline passenger -- flying internationally or domestically -- will soon be subject to even more intrusive scans than the current regimen requires. No fluids. Take your shoes off. No jackets. Scan all of your bags.

And this is all hunky-dory with the left.

Yet somehow, it's controversial to demand security on our southern border as website after website documents the unchecked flow of armed illegals smuggling drugs and thousands of humans into the country each month.

Somehow that's controversial.

Hezbollah-style Car Bomb Kills Four Near Texas Border

Via Drudge, it would appear that Hezbollah's influence continues to creep northward from Mexico City.

People in Juarez are recovering from a car bomb that killed four Thursday night...

The victims include two federal agents, an ambulance worker and a doctor who was in the area when the bomb went off.

Tonight, we have learned that it was a car bomb that was detonated with the same kind of sophistication that is used by terrorist groups like Hezbollah.

A number of people were injured during the attack. Today we know that seven federal police agents were severely injured. A news photographer from channel 5 in Juarez remains in critical condition.

Hezbollah has been operating in Mexico for a number of years, thanks to funding from Iran.

So... would it be worth the $5 billion and change it would cost to construct a secure double fence on the southern border?

Shock, Dismay as Dana Milbank Proves His Cranium Somehow Detached Itself from the Rest of His Body

I feel sympathy for the Washington Post's Dana Milbank. He has a truly difficult job. On the one hand, he has to pretend to be a real journalist. On the other, he has to recycle David Axelrod's press releases and position them as factual.

In his most recent public relations project for the DNC, Milbank pilloried Arizona Governor Jan Brewer for her references to drug gang beheadings on the border with Mexico.

Jan Brewer has lost her head.

The Arizona governor, seemingly determined to repel every last tourist dollar from her pariah state, has sounded a new alarm about border violence. 'Our law enforcement agencies have found bodies in the desert either buried or just lying out there that have been beheaded,' she announced on local television.

Ay, caramba! Those dark-skinned foreigners are now severing the heads of fair-haired Americans? Maybe they're also scalping them or shrinking them or putting them on a spike...

But those in fear of losing parts north of the neckline can relax. There's not a follicle of evidence to support Brewer's claim.

Of course, in the tiny land of reality -- which we like to call "outside the Beltway" -- the Mexican crime gangs running wild in Arizona are well-known for beheading and hanging victims just to make their point.

A friend on the Hill read Milbank's piece and pronounced it "utter BS," then produced a copy of a July 8, 2010, letter to Brewer from Arizona rancher J. David Lowell describing a recent incident involving one of his ranch hands:

"In January 2010, Congressman Rob Bishop visited our ranch here in Santa Cruz County, Arizona. During that visit, I related to him an incident that occurred on June 27, 2008, in one of our pastures west of the ranch house... On that day, one of our ranch hands was working horseback and discovered a human head near a trail believed to be used by drug and alien smugglers.

"Although the head was missing the lower jaw, it was immediately apparent that much of the mass and flesh of the head was still present. The cowboy searched the area in hopes of finding the remainder of the body to no avail.

"The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office was notified and they took possession of the head on that same date. We suspect that the head may have been placed along side the trail as a warning to other drug and alien traffickers using the trail."

Famed blogger Fausta Wertz regularly reads the Spanish-language news sites published in central America and adds:

If you, dear readers, can read Spanish, read the Narcotráfico section of Mexican newspaper El Universal. The reports of beheadings are not tall tales at all. Beheadings are a form of execution by the drug cartels operating across Mexico and in the US-Mexico border area. It behooves the governor of a state bordering with a drug war zone to ensure the safety of her state’s citizens by enforcing the law.

How many decapitated heads found would Milbank consider acceptable in order for the Arizona governor to justify enforcing the law? One? Fifty? Ten thousand?

In fact, photographs of beheaded drug gang members were published by The Westerner [Caution: extremely graphic!] to help Milbank come to grips with his cranial detachment syndrome.

It's really a shame that Dana Milbank -- who, at one time was a respected journalist -- has transformed himself into an out-and-out laughingstock. All of this embarrassment could have been avoided had he only bothered to use the complex research tool called "Google". Perhaps in the future David Axelrod will require the use of this revolutionary new application in his instruction-sheet for Mr. Milbank.

Shhh... no one tell Holder or Napolitano: massive arms cache -- including rocket launchers, grenades, and M-16s -- discovered near Texas border

Two months ago, north of Monterrey, the Mexican military discovered a huge weapons cache that should send a shiver down the spine of any U.S. law enforcement official. The arms cache was located roughly 50 miles away from the Texas border.

The Google translation, while imperfect, gives you the flavor for what was captured.

In recent months, clashes between the army and armed groups have shown the operational and survival of the latter in the rural areas.

The most recent dispute between drug cartels and the military operations that have popped safe houses and training centers have forced the gunmen not to settle for long in one spot, and improvise camps in neighboring municipalities with Tamaulipas.

According to federal sources, and as evidenced by yesterday's operation of the Army, members of armed groups moving in convoys down for a few days gap in wooded areas or suburbs, after supplies of fuel and food, mostly canned and non-perishable.

The authorities have also reported that the gunmen roam the northern fringe and sleep in motels different way, they leave in a couple of days.

[The military] found 124 rifles, grenade launchers, rocket launcher, machine guns, grenades and a box with 55 000 rounds, plus trimmings, helmets and boards of torture.

Jackets, caps, shirts and black berets, with a logo embroidered in three divisions-one with the map of Tamaulipas, the other with that of Mexico and one more with the letter zeta-, were also secured.

Listings with key numbers to identify procedures and other municipalities that grant, places and names of planets ejidos, countries and continents, were also seized.

But don't worry. Just because heavily armed Mexican drug- and human-smugglers have made large swaths of Arizona off-limits to American citizens, there's really no reason for concern.

President Obama has dispatched a crack team of attorneys -- skilled in defending terrorists -- to ensure that Mexican gangs have free rein to operate in the U.S..

Perfect -- Eric Holder's DOJ crony leading SB1070 challenge is member of the "Gitmo 9", who represented terrorists in court

The White House is so laser-focused on the environmental tragedy in the Gulf* that the Obama Justice Department today filed suit against Arizona. Its offense: daring to protect Arizonans from the tidal wave of illegal aliens washing in on a daily basis.

Helping to lead the charge against the citizens of the southwestern state is a man named Tony West.

West is notorious for his de facto membership in the "Gitmo-9".

As an attorney in the San Francisco law firm of Morrison & Foerster, West reportedly represented terrorists with direct and/or indirect involvement in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In fact, West joined the firm less than three months after 9/11, presumably to begin defending those who sought to kill American innocents.

The firm's aptly named website -- Mofo.com -- takes great pride in its work defending terrorists, listing several awards from known leftist and anti-American groups for its "work in representing inmates at Guantanamo Bay."

Earlier in his career, West also served under the Mistress of FAIL -- Jamie Gorelick -- as well as the impressive Janet Reno.

* * * * * * * * *

Heavily armed Mexican drug- and human-smugglers have made large swaths of Arizona off-limits to American citizens.

A study released earlier today calculates that illegal immigration costs U.S. taxpayers $113 billion annually.

And rather than defending America's citizens, which is his primary duty under the Constitution, President Obama instead has unleashed a professional defender of terrorists to expand his practice -- protecting the Mexican crime gangs who now terrorize the southwest.

* Oh, and jobs. Every waking moment, jobs.

Feds Look the other Way As Drugs and Illegals Stream in from Mexico While Warning Hikers That Crossing Canadian Border Will Get Them Jailed

Do you think Janet NapoliReno ever looked up the word irony?

Consider the hilarious AP story entitled "Feds warn Pacific Crest Trail hikers about crossing border."

The U.S. Border Patrol is warning hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail they could face arrest, jail and a $5,000 fine if they cross the U.S.-Canadian border improperly.

The Wenatchee World reports that the agency sent a letter last month urging the Pacific Crest Trail Association to warn hikers to only enter the U.S. at designated border crossings... ...Mike Dawson, trail operations director for the Pacific Crest Trail Association, said he hopes exceptions can be made for hikers...

So Mexican gangs' drug- and human-smuggling operations are permitted to operate with total impunity on our southern border -- but a few hikers who accidentally cross the U.S./Canada border are thrown in jail and fined?

And all this time I thought Democrats believed in open borders.

Not to put too fine a point on its schizophrenia, but once this administration gets booted out of office, its members definitely have a future as writers for SNL.

The Invasion Continues as Drug-, Arms- and Human-Smuggling Gangs Operate in Arizona with Complete Impunity

The magnificent BorderInvasionPics.com website just posted its latest hidden-camera videos from the corridors controlled by Mexican drug- and human-smuggling gangs.

Day after day, BIP documents the unchecked flow of smugglers, armed criminals, the ill, the poor and others of unknown origin into the U.S.

Local law enforcement in Arizona says that "Mexican drug cartels now control parts of Arizona.

And the President and Democrats in Congress don't give a damn, no matter how many Americans are hurt, no matter how many cops are killed, no matter how much damage is done to our society.

The Shameless Duplicity of the Obama Administration: Napolitano Directly Contradicts Solis on Immigration Enforcement; Media Strangely Silent.

Example 8,118 of the blatant, in-your-face contradictions -- I'm too polite to call them lies -- excreted by the Obama administration's apparatchiks:

DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, 6/24/2010
: "Instead of doing workplace raids the way they were being done before, we don't do those. What we do is, build cases against employers who consistently, knowingly and potentially violate our nation's immigration laws, going to the illegal labor market, exploit workers..."

Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, 6/20/2010
: "You work hard, and you have the right to be paid fairly. I’m U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis and it is a serious problem in this country when workers are not being paid every cent they have earned. Remember, every worker in America has a right to be paid fairly, whether documented or not. So call us, it is free and confidential..."
So which is it, Nappie? Which is it, Hildie? Are you going to prosecute businesses for employing illegals -- or just make sure they pay them fair wages? You know, for the jobs Americans won't do.

You people are pathetic. And that goes double for the legacy media.

Four Border Stories Guaranteed to Make Your Blood Boil

For your consideration:

All-Out War: Arizona police officers receive death threats from Mexican cartel: "A Mexican drug cartel has threatened Nogales police officers, saying they will be targeted for retribution if they conduct off-duty busts... Nogales Police Chief Jeffrey Kirkham told the Nogales International late last week that the threats stemmed from an incident approximately two weeks ago, when off-duty officers surprised marijuana smugglers while riding horseback in an unincorporated border area east of town. The officers seized part of the drug load, and the smugglers were able to flee back into Mexico with the other part."

With 20% underemployment, the Obama Labor Department helpfully informs illegal aliens they have a right to good wages: A public service announcement shows Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis stating, "You work hard, and you have the right to be paid fairly. I’m U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis and it is a serious problem in this country when

workers are not being paid every cent they have earned. Remember, every worker in America has a right to be paid fairly, whether documented or not. So call us, it is free and confidential..."

Mexican Gangs Maintain Permanent Lookout Bases in Hills of Arizona: "Mexican drug cartels have set up shop on American soil, maintaining lookout bases in strategic locations in the hills of southern Arizona from which their scouts can monitor every move made by law enforcement officials, federal agents tell Fox News... The scouts are supplied by drivers who bring them food, water, batteries for radios -- all the items they need to stay in the wilderness for a long time... “To say that this area is out of control is an understatement," said an agent who patrols the area and asked not to be named. "We (federal border agents), as well as the Pima County Sheriff Office and the Bureau of Land Management, can attest to that.”

Senators Challenge Pres. Obama on Rumors of Executive Order Amnesty: "Several Senators have learned of a possible plan by the Obama Administration that would provide a mass Amnesty for the nation's 11-18 million illegal aliens. Led by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), eight Senators addressed a letter to the President asking for answers to questions about a plan that would allow DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano to provide an amnesty if they can't secure enough votes for a bill in the Senate... The letter that was sent to Pres. Obama earlier today asks the President for clarification on the use of deferred action or parole for illegal aliens. The executive actions are typically used in special cases and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, but if 60 votes can't be secured in the Senate to pass a mass Amnesty, the Administration may use the discretionary actions as an alternative..."

This administration is completely out-of-control. An environmental catastrophe continues to unfold in the gulf and less than one percent of the nation's clean-up resources have been deployed after two months. Drugs and humans are smuggled into Arizona through corridors controlled by elements of the Mexican government, who are in bed with the drug cartels. Police officers are killed and threatened by illegals.

How does the President react? He threatens to sign an executive order to legalize millions of new voters -- most of whom will align with the Democrat Party -- and he unleashes a public service campaign assuring illegals that their jobs are safe and their wages should be fair.

Meanwhile, the real citizens of this country suffer through a relentless economic disaster, with 20% underemployment and the country's next generation trillions in hock.

But don't worry, folks: he's historic.

The Impeachment Chronicles

In increasingly respectable circles -- i.e., not this blog -- and on a more frequent basis, politicos and pundits are bandying about the I-word. No, not the I-word that President Obama won't use (Islam), but impeachment itself. Consider:

• At the invaluable American Thinker, attorney Raymond Richman asks, "Is Obama's BP shakedown an impeachable offense?" Richman is incredulous that Obama "insist[ed] that his own personal organization take over the job of paying claims" and that such an organization will operate "without any law, legal controls, or binding rules to guide it on how and how much those injured materially by the oil spill (and whom among them) will be paid"

Richman argues that the President has, through explicit ("ass-kicking") and implicit threats, forced BP to agree to the slush, I mean, escrow fund and that such an action is "beyond the powers of his office." He terms these actions fascist, Chavez-like, and that ultimately they represent an impeachable offense.

• Rep. Darrell Issa of California believes that the White House job offer to Joe Sestak is clearly illegal and "could lead to the impeachment of President Obama". Issa called upon the Justice Department to name a special prosecutor but, as expected, Attorney General Eric Holder has refused.

• Rep. John Kyl of Arizona has stated that President Obama told him privately that he will not secure the border, because Republicans would then have no reason to support "comprehensive immigration reform" (amnesty for illegals). Were this allegation proven true, the President would be violating one of his clearest requirements under the Constitution. Would a "dereliction of duty" charge or even an "accessory" status for crimes committed by illegals be possible?

• Few of President Obama's appointees are as controversial as Eric Holder. Holder appears to be the most unvarnished political operative to occupy the Attorney General's office since John N. Mitchell under Richard Nixon (the first A.G. to be convicted of illegal activities). Among Holder's outrageous decisions, none is as blatantly partisan as his decision to drop charges against the New Black Panther members caught on videotape harrassing voters at a Philadelphia polling station. Furthermore, the aftermath of these activities are also clouded in controversy as those officials charged with preserving the rights of voters are stonewalled at every turn. Could Holder and/or Obama be held accountable for a clear failure to discharge their duties?

Should the President be impeached? If so, on what grounds?

There are, after all, so many offenses and affronts against the American people that it seems difficult to choose.

Obama Administration Unveils Dramatic New Plan to Seal Massive Gulf Leak: Suing Arizona for Arresting Drug- and Human-Smugglers

"...my job right now is just to make sure that everybody in the Gulf understands this is what I wake up to in the morning and this is what I go to bed at night thinking about." -- President Barack Obama, 27 May 2010

It's official. Senior Obama administration officials confirm that the Department of Justice will sue Arizona over its enforcement of immigration laws.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a television interview in Ecuador this month that the Obama Justice Department 'will be bringing a lawsuit' against the controversial Arizona immigration measure signed into law earlier this year.

The comment was striking because both President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder had said only that the administration was considering a suit. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer called Clinton’s comments stunning and added that 'to learn of this lawsuit through an Ecuadorean interview with the secretary of state is just outrageous...'

...a senior administration official tells CBS News that the federal government will indeed formally challenge the law when Justice Department lawyers are finished building the case. The official said Justice is still working on building the case.

Meanwhile, heavily armed Mexican drug runners and human smugglers are reportedly "in control" of large sections of Arizona.

Yes, the President is laser-focused on the Gulf. Laser.

Oh, and jobs, too. Green jobs. Lots of 'em. Maybe in Brazil.

What could go wrong? 17 Afghan pilots AWOL from Texas Air Force base

Fox News has an exclusive report that should send some shivers down your spine:

A nationwide alert has been issued for 17 members of the Afghan military who have gone AWOL from a Texas Air Force base where foreign military officers who are training to become pilots are taught English... The Afghan officers and enlisted men have security badges that give them access to secure U.S. defense installations, according to the lookout bulletin, "Afghan Military Deserters in CONUS [Continental U.S.]," issued by Naval Criminal Investigative Service in Dallas...

The Afghans were attending the Defense Language Institute at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. The DLI program teaches English to military pilot candidates and other air force prospects from foreign countries allied with the U.S.

...Each Afghan was issued a Department of Defense Common Access Card, an identification card used to gain access to secure military installations, with which they "could attempt to enter DOD installations," according to the bulletin. Base security officers were encouraged to disseminate the bulletin to their personnel.

....The bulletin requests, "If any Afghan pictured herein is encountered, detain the subject and contact your local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office, the FBI or NCIS."

I'm not sure what the big deal is.

Thousands of heavily armed drug- and human-smugglers from Mexico are streaming into Arizona every month, to the point where local sheriffs say the areas are no longer under the control of the U.S. government.

In reaction, Attorney Generic Eric Holder is preparing to sue... Arizona.

As for a measly 17 Afghan pilots? Has anyone looked in Janet Napolitano's basement?

Anyone know what you call it when heavily armed intruders cross the border into the U.S. unmolested by authorities? Oh, that's right: Arizona.

Say, is it a problem that heavily armed Mexicans are crossing into Arizona? Or that, according to Arizona law enforcement authorities, Mexican drug cartels are "in control" of large parts of the state?

Apparently not, according to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano who says the border is: "as secure now as it has ever been."

Thanks to the patriots at SecureBorderIntel.org and BorderInvasionPics.com, we have a true picture of the situation on the border. SBI has placed a series of hidden videocameras at known chokepoints where illegals, many of them human- and drug-smugglers, are entering the U.S. completely unaccosted by the traditional border niceties of, oh, I don't know -- maybe a freaking fence?

The videos are simply stunning.

In this video, taped several months ago, heavily armed point-men clear a path for drug runners.

Among their firearms: a full-auto AK-47...

...and a full-auto MAC-10.

The guards ensure that the "mules" will proceed deep into Arizona unmolested.

A series of mules follow close behind...

Each carrying as much as 75 lbs. of cocaine, heroin or pot.

But the illicit drugs don't represent the only cargo simply walking into the U.S.

Human-smuggling is rampant, with videos capturing hundreds upon hundreds of individuals -- many violent criminals and gang-members -- making the trip.

Consider that the entire federal government, with agency upon agency, can't seem to detect what a few patriotic individuals did with $500 worth of supplies were able to.

And these are the same dweebs who tell us they can run the health care system.

And another thing (I'm on a roll): remember how Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that the Mexicans were getting their weapons from the U.S.? In March, during a trip to Mexico City, she stated that, "Our inability to prevent weapons from being illegally smuggled across the border to arm these criminals causes the death of police officers, soldiers and civilians."

Of course, this statement had all the integrity of a typical Clinton statement, because the last time I checked, full-auto weapons aren't available anywhere in the U.S. without a Class III license (which is almost impossible to get).

But let's not let the truth get in the way of the Democrats' anti-gun agenda! They've got amnesty to grant and new voters to register: and if they're felons, so much the better. They'll be doubly in the Democrats' camp, as the Party of Treason has been lobbying for the felon vote for years.

The people of Arizona deserve better than the political hacks who seem to violate their oath of office on a daily basis. The one task they're supposed to do -- protecting the citizens of this country against all enemies, foreign and domestic, seems to be too much of a bother for them. But nationalizing industries... well, that's job one!
