Democrats: More Wedded to Their Ideology Than to the Rule of Law

Exhibit A: Eric Holder, whose acts of perjury and stonewalling -- in a true Constitutional system -- would be opposed by all members of Congress. After all, each branch of government was designed by the Framers to check the corrupting ambitions of the other branches.

But Democrats -- including their self-described Marxist leader, Senator Patrick Leahy -- are more wedded to a failed ideology of collectivism than to the rule of law. And if it means sacrificing the Senate's power to protect the worst attorney general in history, then they're up to the challenge.

Sen. John Cornyn called on Eric Holder to resign Tuesday as Republicans raised the pressure on the attorney general to avoid a contempt vote by providing documents about the Fast and Furious gun-tracking operation... [He] told Holder it’s time for new leadership at the Department of Justice (DOJ)...

...“It is more with sorrow than anger that I would say that you leave me no alternative but to join those who call upon you to resign your office,” Cornyn said at a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee... “The American people deserve better; they deserve an attorney general who is accountable and independent; they deserve an attorney general who puts justice before politics,” he said. “And it’s my sincere hope that President Obama will replace you with someone who’s up to that challenge.”

Cornyn’s remarks came the day after House Republicans scheduled a vote for June 20 on whether to place Holder in contempt of Congress. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has battled Holder for months over a subpoena he issued last October as part of his 15-month investigation of Fast and Furious.

Issa and other top Republicans argue the attorney general is withholding documents and impeding a congressional investigation... Pressure on Holder has been building in the House, where Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) has garnered the support of 114 House Republicans for a resolution expressing no confidence in Holder’s ability to carry out his responsibilities as a result of the DOJ’s authorization of “gun walking” tactics in Fast and Furious.

Several quotes best summarize the outrage that is Eric Holder:

• Rep. Anne Marie Buerkle to Eric Holder (2/1/12):

"What more could have possibly gone wrong before you'd have been held accountable [for Operation Fast and Furious]? I would suggest that the President has been eerily quiet about coming to your defense. So let me ask it this way: How many more Border Patrol agents would have had to die as part of Operation Fast and Furious for you to take responsibility?"

• Rep. Patrick Henry to Eric Holder on the delays in the DOJ's "investigation", which, in Febuary, had already longer than the Warren Commission Report on the assassination of JFK:

"Thirteen months later, we have a possibility of somebody actually being punished for an agent getting killed. This is absolutely absurd."

Now, 17 months later, virtually none of the critical documents requested by Congress have been released by Holder. No one has been held accountable for the hundreds killed by Holder's operation. And the results of Holder's "investigation" have yet to be released to Congress.

Read the details of the case and judge for yourself.

Gov. Rick Scott: Florida Sues DHS to Release Its List of Ineligible Voters

The way I read this story, either the Department of Homeland Security believes its database is wildly inaccurate or it's trying to encourage vote fraud. And I think we all know which is really the case.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) said he will sue the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to move forward with his controversial attempt to purge the voter rolls in his state of ineligible voters.

“I have a job to do to defend the right of legitimate voters,” Scott told Fox News on Monday. “We’ve been asking for the Department of Homeland Security’s database, SAVE, for months, and they haven’t given it to us. So this afternoon, we will be filing a lawsuit, the secretary of State of Florida, against the Department of Homeland Security to give us that database. We want to have fair, honest elections in our state and we have been put in a position that we have to sue the federal government to get this information.”

Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner produced the lawsuit, filed in Washington, D.C. district court on Monday, shortly after, along with a statement.

“For nearly a year, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has failed to meet its legal obligation to provide us the information necessary to identify and remove ineligible voters from Florida’s voter rolls,” Detzner said. “We can’t let the federal government delay our efforts to uphold the integrity of Florida elections any longer. We’ve filed a lawsuit to ensure the law is carried out and we are able to meet our obligation to keep the voter rolls accurate and current.”

Given the latest Zogby data -- which shows that disillusioned young voters are dropping out of the political process -- it's clear that President Axelrod will manufacture votes any which way he can.

And if that means counting the votes of illegal aliens, felons and the deceased, well, then so be it. Because that's the way the Chicago Machine rolls.

Great News: Mexican Drug Cartels Operating in Over 1,200 U.S. Cities, Up More Than Five Times Since 2008

Well, this CNN report certainly comes as a surprise, given the combination of: (a) a Homeland Security head who encourages open borders and illegal immigration; and (b) an Attorney General who ships thousands of military-grade weapons to the Mexican cartels.

Wilmington, North Carolina (CNN) -- Less than a mile off a county road in Ivanhoe near the Black River, federal drug agents and local authorities found exactly what their informant had promised... "We saw what looked like, as far as you could see, marijuana plants," said Drug Enforcement Administration agent Michael Franklin.

There were about 2,400 in all, surrounded by a makeshift camp where the growers had illegally squatted on private property, setting up a generator and pump to tap the river for irrigation. The camp, which had been recently inhabited, contained a tarp shelter, canned fuel, drinking water, toiletries and old clothing, some of it camouflage...

...[The growers], according to the DEA's source, were members of La Familia Michoacana, a Mexican drug cartel that the Justice Department says focuses primarily on moving heroin, cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamine into the southeastern and southwestern United States.

...The Justice Department's National Drug Intelligence Center estimates Mexican cartels control distribution of most of the methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana coming into the country, and they're increasingly producing the drugs themselves.

In 2009 and 2010, the center reported, cartels operated in 1,286 U.S. cities, more than five times the number reported in 2008. The center named only 50 cities in 2006.

In the America I grew up in, citizens were free to go anywhere they chose to visit throughout the 57 states.

In the new, improved Obamerica, the federal government actively encourages illegal immigration and, to try and avoid bloodshed, simply posts signs along interstates that read, and I quote, "Danger Warning, Travel Not Recommended, Drug Smuggling, Active and Armed Gunmen."

Perfect: 49 headless bodies found near U.S. border may have been U.S.-bound illegals attracted by lawless Obama administration policies

The inviting open-borders policies of the Obama Democrats may have contributed to the gruesome slaughter of nearly 50 people, whose decapitated bodies were found close to the U.S border.

Police found 49 mutilated bodies scattered in a pool of blood near the border with the U.S., a region where Mexico's two dominant drug cartels are trying to outdo each other in bloodshed while warring over smuggling routes... The bodies of 43 men and six women with their heads, hands and feet chopped off were dumped at the entrance to the town of San Juan, on a highway that connects the industrial city of Monterrey with Reynosa, across from McAllen, Texas.

At the spot where authorities discovered the bodies before dawn Sunday, a white stone arch that normally welcomes visitors to the town was spray-painted with "100% Zeta" in black letters — an apparent reference to the fearsome Zetas drug cartel that was founded by deserters from the Mexican army's special forces.

...Domene said the dead would be hard to identify because of the lack of heads, hands and feet...

De la Garza said he did not rule out the possibility that the victims were U.S.-bound migrants.

...In less than a month, the mutilated bodies of 14 men were left in a van in downtown Nuevo Laredo, 23 people were found hanged or decapitated in the same border city and 18 dismembered bodied were left near Mexico's second-largest city, Guadalajara. Nuevo Laredo, like Monterrey, is considered Zeta territory, while Guadalajara has long been controlled by gangs loyal to Sinaloa...

...A drug gang allied with Sinaloa left 35 bodies on a main boulevard in the city of Veracruz in September, and police found 32 other bodies, apparently killed by the same gang, a few days after that. The goal apparently was to take over territory that had been dominated by the Zetas... Twenty-six bodies were found in November in Guadalajara, another territory being disputed by the Zetas and Sinaloa... Drug violence has killed more than 47,500 people since Calderon launched a stepped-up offensive when he took office in December 2006.

Let us recall that the Obama administration has sued state after state after state for enforcing immigration laws while systematically endorsing sanctuary cities.

Let us also recall that the Obama administration halted all construction of the border fence, which is supported by a stunning 81 percent of Americans, according to USA Today.

In other words, nearly 50 human beings -- likely lured to the border by the lawless policies of the Obama administration -- lost their lives as part of a turf war spurred in part by -- yes -- the open borders policies of the Obama administration that tacitly permits drug- and human-smuggling.

I guess we can just add 'em to the total of Operation Fast and Furious (300 dead and counting).

Awesome: Two Illegal Aliens Protected by Democrat "Sanctuary City" Policies Murdered Family and High-School Football Star

Strange: I wonder why I never read any of this in my local newspaper?

In unrelated cases that illustrate the high price communities pay for sanctuary policies, two illegal immigrants—both with extensive criminal records—were convicted of first-degree murder this week in different parts of a border state that has longed protected the undocumented.

In San Francisco a jury found Edwin Ramos, a renowned gang banger, guilty of three first-degree murder counts for the 2008 killings of a 48-year-old man and his two sons. Ramos had a lengthy criminal record when he murdered the family, but San Francisco sanctuary laws shielded him from deportation.

Judicial Watch obtained public records that show police knew Ramos was an active member of the notoriously violent MS-13 street gang and that he had numerous run ins with the law, including arrests for weapons and gang-related charges. Furthermore, police knew Ramos was in the U.S. illegally yet released him after every encounter. In short, the records obtained by JW prove that don’t-ask-don’t tell sanctuary policies protect illegal alien gang bangers and put American citizens at risk.

Regardless, the famously liberal northern California city has long protected illegal immigrants and offered them costly public services that should be reserved for legal residents and citizens. In fact, illegal aliens are assured through costly, Spanish-language advertisement campaigns that they will never be reported to federal officials. In 2007 San Francisco became the nation’s first large municipality to offer illegal aliens official government identification cards.

A few hundred miles south in Los Angeles, another illegal immigrant gang banger (Pedro Espinoza) was also convicted of first-degree murder this week for gunning down a standout high school football player in 2008. Jurors deliberated for about four hours before reaching a verdict, according to a local news report, that says Espinoza proudly sports a tattoo with the initials “B.K,” which police says stands for “Blood Killer.”

Espinoza had just completed a jail sentence for a previous felony when he murdered the 17-year-old star running back, Jamiel Shaw, as he walked home. Like San Francisco Los Angeles has strict policies banning law enforcement officers from inquiring about suspects’ immigration status. In this case it allowed a violent gang banger to gun down a talented young athlete who was being recruited by top colleges.

How much more lawlessness by this administration will the American people take?

The Obama-Holder Justice Department has sued state after state after state for enforcing federal immigration law. Curiously, however, the Democrats don't have a problem with "Sanctuary Cities".

My sense is that patience is wearing thin. And November is coming.

Excellent news: 23 bodies discovered either hanging from bridges or decapitated in "secure as it's ever been" border area

Remember how Janet Napolitano, our beloved baritone DHS secretary, claimed that the border area was "as secure as it's ever been", even though the Obama administration halted construction of a security fence?

Well, citizens, don't worry when you read about the complete breakdown of society right on the border, as our ultra-secure, but non-existent, border fence will protect us. Somehow. Because Nappy's on the case.

The bodies of 23 people were found hanging from a bridge or decapitated and dumped near city hall Friday in the border city of Nuevo Laredo, where drug cartels are fighting a bloody and escalating turf war.

Authorities found nine of the victims, including four women, hanging from an overpass leading to a main highway, said a Tamaulipas state official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to provide information on the case.

Hours later, police found 14 human heads inside coolers outside city hall along with a threatening note. The 14 bodies were found in black plastic bags inside a car abandoned near an international bridge, the official said.

...Local media published photos of the nine bloodied bodies, some with duct tape wrapped around their faces, hanging from the overpass along with a message threatening the Gulf cartel...

...[In 2003, k]illings and police corruption became so brazen that then President Vicente Fox was forced to send in hundreds of troops and federal agents, and the only man brave enough to take the job of police chief was gunned down hours after he was sworn in... The Zetas won that fight and have since ruled the city with fear, threatening police, reporters and city officials and extorting money from businesses. They broke off their alliance with the Gulf cartel in 2010, worsening the violence across northeast Mexico.

But last month, 14 mutilated bodies were found in a vehicle left in the city center. Some media outlets reported that the Sinaloa cartel took responsibility for those bodies and in a message allegedly signed by its leader, Guzman, said the group was now back in Nuevo Laredo "to clean" the city.

The Democrat Party's quest to buy votes among illegal aliens trumps any concern over the security of American citizens.

And that, my friends, is why the border area is wide open, despite the ongoing, narco-fueled civil war occurring just a few dozen yards south of our border.

Beautiful: Obama IRS Refunding Billions to Illegals Who Are Claiming Kids... In Mexico

Just when you thought your outrage-meter had pegged the needle, you come across a brand new atrocity courtesy of a government that is completely out-of-control.

...Investigative television reporter Bob Segall of Indianapolis NBC affiliate WTHR TV Channel 13, was contacted by a long-time central Indiana tax preparer, who blew the whistle on a multi-billion dollar tax fraud about which the IRS has done nothing, according to the TV news show video segment that aired on Monday.

“There is not a doubt in my mind there’s huge fraud taking place here,” he said, slowly flipping through the pages of a [heavily redacted] tax return... “We’re talking about a multi-billion dollar fraud scheme here that’s taking place and no one is talking about it,” he said.

The scheme involves illegal immigrants that are filing tax returns, claiming child credits for multiple dependents under their support in “their” U.S. household, and collecting enormous cash refunds–such as one persons tax return that showed income of over $14,000, who collected a cash refund of over $10,300.

In 1996 during the Clinton Administration, the Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) was created in order for both resident and non-resident aliens, regardless of immigration status, to fulfill their tax filing and payment obligations under IRS regulations–even though an ITIN does not confer the right to work and receive income in the United States.

This year tax preparation offices across the country were flooded by an estimated 2 million illegal immigrants, who in growing numbers have been taking advantage of a tax loophole called the Additional Child Tax Credit–a fully-refundable credit of up to $1000 per child–meant to ease the income tax burden on working families who have children living at home.

However, Segall’s investigation and reporting found many illegal immigrants who were claiming these tax credits, but for kids who live in Mexico–even listing nieces and nephews.

“We’ve seen sometimes 10 or 12 dependents, most times nieces and nephews, on these tax forms,” the whistleblower told Eyewitness News. “The more you put on there, the more you get back.”

After Segall reviewed many of the heavily redacted tax returns, it was still clear that the tax filers had received large tax refunds after claiming child tax credits for many dependents... “Here’s a return right here: we’ve got a $10,3000 refund for nine nieces and nephews,” he said, pointing to the words “niece” and “nephew” listed on the tax forms nine separate times.

“We’re getting an $11,000 refund on this tax return. There’s seven nieces and nephews,” he said, pointing to another set of documents. “I can bring out stacks and stacks. It’s just so easy it’s ridiculous.”

Segall of WTHR was able to speak with several of the illegal immigrants who, using Segall’s translator–confirmed it is easy.

...Segall then met with Russell George, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Inspector General for Tax Administration, who stated … “The magnitude of the problem has grown exponentially,” but that the IRS has known about the problem for years...

...Mr. George said his department has repeatedly warned the IRS that additional child tax credits are being abused by undocumented workers–in 2009 alone, their annual audit report showed that ITIN tax filers received about $1 billion in additional child tax credits... The same audit report from 2010 showed it cost the American tax payers more than $4.2 billion...

One worker interviewed by Segall at his home admitted that four other illegals used his address to file tax returns, even though they don't live there. Between them, they claimed 20 children and a total of 30 people living in the residence. These individuals received tax refunds totaling $29,608.

The man admitted that none of the "20 children" live in the U.S., nor have they ever even visited!

And what does the IRS have to say about this? Yes, they're defending the practice:

The agency sent WTHR a statement, defending its policy of paying tax credits to illegal immigrants.

"The law has been clear for over a decade that eligibility for these credits does not depend on work authorization status or the type of taxpayer identification number used. Any suggestion that the IRS shouldn't be paying out these credits under current law to ITIN holders is simply incorrect. The IRS administers the law impartially and applies it as it is written," the statement said.

...Over the past month, WTHR has tried to ask the IRS more questions about its efforts to prevent abuse involving additional child tax credits... Despite repeated phone calls, e-mails and a visit to IRS headquarters in Washington, the agency said none of its 100,000 employees had time to meet with 13 Investigates for an interview. An IRS spokeswoman said all staff were too busy because of the tax filing deadline in mid-April.

Apparently, the IRS doesn't have time to respond to some tax preparers, either... Last year, our whistleblower noticed dozens of undocumented workers had used phony documents and false income to claim tax credits. He reported all of it to the IRS.

"These were fraudulent, 100% fraudulent tax returns, but I got no response; absolutely none. We never heard a thing," he said. "To me, it's clear the IRS is letting this happen."

The IRS tells WTHR it can do nothing to change the current system unless it gets permission from Congress. In other words, according to the IRS, closing the loophole would require lawmakers to pass a new law specifically excluding illegal immigrants from claiming additional child tax credits.

Folks: this is a huge story.

I urge you to pass it on to your mailing lists.

This kind of travesty must end in November. Or this country really will be "fundamentally transformed", as Barack Obama promised.

Good news: rocket launcher, grenades and guns found in Sacramento, California home

But I'm certain this has nothing to do with open borders and terrorism.

More than a dozen guns, ammunition and a rocket launcher were taken from a Sacramento home, including some found hidden behind a fake wall.

Sacramento police officers said they made the discovery on Wednesday.

The weapons included an assault rifle, assault pistol, 12-gauge shotgun, 16-gauge shotgun, Tommy gun, handguns, hand grenades, ammunition and a rocket launcher.

Sacramento’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit responded to the home to ensure the scene was safe.

The investigation is ongoing, so investigators are not releasing the names of the suspects at this time.

Say, I've got an idea! Let's keep the border wide open, sue states that try to enforce immigration laws, and promote general lawlessness! Oh, wait. You say the president's already doing all that? Forget I mentioned it.

You Lying Sack of Schumer

If there's a more malevolent, anti-American force in the U.S. Senate than Chuck "Schmucky" Schumer, I have yet to read of him or her. I firmly believe that had Schumer been around during the founding of the United States, he would have been a Tory, collaborating with the Crown.

Case in point: the Soviet-style show trial Schumer held to "review" Arizona's immigration bill, which -- as everyone knows -- simply upholds federal law and explicitly prohibits profiling.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), convening his Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security, vowed to have a legislative response of his own should the justices uphold the state law that allows police to require proof of residency with probable cause... “It is simply too damaging to our economy and too dangerous to our democracy to have 50 different states be permitted to take their own direction when it comes to immigration policy,” Schumer said. “The Supreme Court should find the Arizona law unconstitutional, but if it doesn’t, Congress will be ready.”

Our founding fathers gave Congress plenary power over immigration law,” Schumer said. “The Supreme Court has consistently interpreted the naturalization language in Article I to mean that the establishment of the immigration laws and the manner of their execution are committed solely to the federal government.”

...[Former Arizona legislator] Pearce countered that “illegal is a crime, not a race,” and that the majority of illegal immigrants just happen to come across the southern border... “It’s simply the rule of law,” he said. “Laws without consequences are not laws at all,” and SB 1070 forbids racial profiling, he added.

Plenary power, eh? Which means all of those Democrat-run "sanctuary cities" and "sanctuary states" will be punished for violating federal immigration law? Of course not, because Schmucky is a lawless hack who is more interested in drumming up the votes of illegals than protecting lawful citizens and legal immigrants.

Earlier today, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments concerning the constitutionality of Arizona's law. Some observers thought Schumer's hot-dogging was intended -- like Obama's pontificating about Obamacare -- to intimidate the Supreme Court.

But what the lawless Obama administration and Schmucky heard from the Justices must have been disturbing.

Supreme Court justices took a dim view of the Obama administration’s claim that it can stop Arizona from enforcing immigration laws, telling government lawyers during oral argument Wednesday that the state appears to want to push federal officials, not conflict with them...

...“It seems to me the federal government just doesn’t want to know who’s here illegally,” Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. said at one point [and] even Democratic-appointed justices were uncertain of [the Obama administration's argument].

“I’m terribly confused by your answer,” said Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who went on to say that the federal government can always decline to pick up illegal immigrants when Arizona officials call.

When the history of this Republic is written, Schmucky Schumer will go down in history as one of the most nefarious, vicious, and reckless political thugs ever to slither on the floor of the Senate.

Most Awesomest Public Service Evah: Outing Gangs on Social Media

Great idea from the guys and gals at Charleston Thug Life, who launched their public service website on March 31st and have seen traffic take off ever since.

What is CTL? It would appear that a few law-abiding Charlestonians are scanning social media sites for the local criminal class, meaning Facebook users who display weapons, drugs, drug money, and/or gang affiliations.

People across the country, and even in the socialist welfare state known as the United Kingdom, have repeatedly referred to these blog writers as "cracka asshole", "dude's a cracka...", and endless other variations. Racist and sexist all. The female members of the team are demanding equality and might bring the ACLU in to remedy the discrimination problem. We have been trying to talk them down, but you know the old saying about a woman scorned. Other members of the team really don't give a damn as long as the work is appreciated and the reader continues to see a value in it.

When screaming "racist" didn't work, those who seek to protect the criminals profiled here resorted to calling in the street lawyers. "You are violating Facebook policy....." Ha! We are constantly on the alert for those Facebook police skulking around. Right. Folks, let us lay it out very simply.

Charleston Thug Life is basically a non-government subsidized welfare agency that specializes in assisting drug dealers, jackboys, and gang-bangers publicize their businesses. They obviously want to advertise their activities and increase their customer base, much like a normal small business. Unfortunately, they are limited to the several hundred, maybe a thousand friends on their lists. CTL steps in and provides our own special advertising assistance and our clients are now getting worldwide exposure for their ventures.

Oh. And here's a good one.

Casualty Report and a Response to Rhonda Green

"Bigg Freedro Juicee" has deleted his incriminating profile.

Mrs. Green,

We are not sure which of the featured subjects you are referring to in your comments at the Post and Courier. In spite of this lack of information we will try to address your concerns.

We can sympathize with the plight of trying to raise a teenager in these troubling times. Some of us are struggling with the same dilemma. Keep plugging away at it.

That being said, if we found one of those children holding forth on the web about 'trappin' (drug dealing), flashing thousands of dollars, using drugs, displaying weapons, and threatening bodily harm to other 'trappas' (drug dealers), the last thing he or she would have to worry about would be embarrassment or the trauma of deleting his or her profile. An extensive non-DSS approved ass whipping would be followed by a thorough search of the home to ensure none of those illicit items were stashed anywhere in or around the residence.

Possession of certain firearms by minors is forbidden by law. Minors can't buy weapons, so the logical conclusion is those weapons in the photos are stolen. A consult with a criminal lawyer might be a prudent course of action. Or you could just call your local law enforcement agency and have them come out to explain the law to your son. I'm sure our public servants would be happy to play a part in his return to the straight and narrow.

If being featured here has "served as a wakeup call" for your son, then our goal has been achieved. Pointing out which blog star you are talking about would help us better address your issues.

Your comment leads the reader to assume you are speaking of the person whose photo was featured in the article. If you are referring to "Bigg Freedro Juicee" we would suggest you read the comments attached to the photos we captured. The evidence in that profile indicates something much more sinister than a kid trying to fit in.

We are pleased we could assist you in your child rearing endeavors.

The Charleston Thug Life Team

Keep up the great work, ladies and gents.

Trayvon Martin? Perhaps Obama Could Explain Kesler Dufrene

The Washington Free Beacon calls Kevin Dufrene "Obama's Willie Horton." That's because Obama blocked the deportation of this illegal alien and convicted burglar. Said non-deportation then resulted in the utterly predictable murder of a 15-year old girl.

President Obama commented on the controversial killing of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin in a widely noticed Mar. 23 press availability.

The president has yet to comment, however, on another shooting victim whose death is connected to an administration immigration policy and may pose problems for his reelection campaign.

On Jan. 2, 2011, Kesler Dufrene is alleged by local police to have shot and killed 15-year-old Ashley Chow in Miami... Dufrene, a 23-year-old illegal immigrant from Haiti, was convicted on burglary charges in 2006.

Already on probation for stealing a car, he pled guilty and was sentenced to five years in prison... The Miami Herald reported that in August 2007 a U.S. immigration judge ordered Dufrene to be deported to Haiti when his sentence was up.

However, the Obama administration halted deportations to Haiti following that nation’s devastating 2010 earthquake...

Dufrene was released in October of that year, three months prior to the January 2011 shooting that killed Chow and two others... Immigration authorities did not have to release Dufrene, despite the administration’s order to stop deportations to Haiti. In 2001, and again in 2005, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that illegal immigrants unable to be deported could still be detained for up to six months.

Hey, Romney advisers (notice that I was polite and didn't say, "Hey, schmucks!"): maybe you could make an ad out of this all-too-typical result of Obama's disastrous open borders policy.

Good News! Eight Decapitated Bodies Turn Up In "Safe As It's Ever Been" Texas-Mexico Border Region

Thankfully the border -- true to the promise of our beloved, baritone DHS secretary Janet Napolitano -- is "as safe as it's ever been".

Eight decapitated bodies were found in the Mexican border state of Tamaulipas, according to multiple Mexican news media outlets.

Details are still coming, but the bodies were found today by the Army on the highway that connects Matamoros with Ciudad Victoria, according to El Universal, the Mexico City based media company.

Authorities have not shared any insight into the killings, but the region has been marked recently by intense fighting between two factions of the Gulf Cartel drug-trafficking organization.

Because this is a family blog, I've refrained from posting pictures of the decapitated heads found on the border and here in the United States.

The Reparations Administration [Updated]

Author's Note: I originally wrote this article nearly two years ago, on July 8, 2010, to address what I perceived to be the unspoken agenda of the Obama White House.

In light of the recent revelations that Obama was a personal advocate for the racial eliminationist Dr. Derrick Bell, I thought it fitting and proper to re-post it.

Observers have characterized President Obama's many efforts to nationalize industries a systematic form of "wealth redistribution." But the activities instigated by the White House go beyond redistribution and devolve straight into reparations. Consider:

Race Gender Quotas in "Financial Reform"

Section 342, which declares that race and gender employment ratios, if not quotas, must be observed by private financial institutions that do business with the government. In a major power grab, the new law inserts race and gender quotas into America's financial industry... ...Section 342 sets up at least 20 Offices of Minority and Women Inclusion.

Racial Preferences in Obamacare

Transfer of wealth and “crucial decisions” aside, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act contains provisions that provide incentives for racial discrimination...

One provision states that programs with “a record of training individuals who are from underrepresented minority groups or from a rural or disadvantaged background” will be given priority for government money. This is only one of several such provisions. Programs and medical institutions that practice racial preferences will be moved further up the money queue than programs and medical institutions that disregard race... The one who disregards skin color is penalized... The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights called the provisions racially discriminatory and sent President Barack Obama and Congress letters warning them about the provisions. The politicians ignored the warning, naturally.

DOJ encourages illegal immigration by Mexican crime gangs

A study released earlier today calculates that illegal immigration costs U.S. taxpayers $113 billion annually... And rather than defending America's citizens, which is his primary duty under the Constitution, President Obama instead has unleashed a professional defender of terrorists to expand his practice -- protecting the Mexican crime gangs who now terrorize the southwest.

Another voter fraud scandal involving the Justice Department.

J. Christian Adams,, a former career Justice Department lawyer who resigned recently to protest political interference in cases he worked on, made some news yesterday in testimony before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights... As expected, he claimed that Associate Attorney General Thomas Perrelli, an Obama appointee, overruled a unanimous recommendation by six career Justice attorneys for continued prosecution of members of the New Black Panther Party on charges of voter intimidation in an incident I detailed here yesterday...

...But Mr. Adams leveled an even more explosive charge beyond the Panther case. He testified that last year Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes made a jaw-dropping announcement to attorneys in Justice's Voting Rights section. She said she would not support any enforcement of a key section of the federal "Motor Voter" law -- Section 8, which requires states to periodically purge their voter rolls of dead people, felons, illegal voters and those who have moved out of state.

This Administration is Lawless

The Civil Rights Act prohibits racial discrimination and preferences. But the White House has chosen to ignore applicable law -- and the Constitution itself -- to promote a racially divisive and potentially explosive agenda.

This morning, a Wall Street Journal op-ed asked, "Who Will Investigate the Investigators?".

I would phrase it differently: "What recourse is there when the White House and the Justice Department are operating lawlessly?"

Obama has spurned wealth redistribution for something even more extreme: a political form of reparations.

We know from a series of painful examples -- throughout history -- that wealth redistribution does not work. In fact, one need only point to the wealth redistribution approach advocated by Carter, Clinton, Reno and Cuomo -- the Community Reinvestment Act and its ilk -- which led directly to the implosion of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

The reparations model that Obama is pursuing could tear apart the very fabric that led to the creation of the most inclusive society in the world. It is destroying the integrity of the ballot box; corrupting health care; destroying financial services; and eradicating American sovereignty.

The reparations model advocated by the White House represents lawlessness. Ergo, this administration is lawless.

It's November or never. And citizens of every race, creed, religion, color and culture should reject the systematic destruction of America, before it's too late.

So soon? House moves a step closer to finding Holder in contempt of Congress

It's about freaking time.

On Tuesday Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House committee on Oversight and Government Reform, took a major step toward holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for his failure to provide subpoenaed documents and other information about Operation Fast and Furious.

In a Jan. 31 letter, Issa had threatened Holder with such a move if he failed to provide all the subpoenaed documents relating to the Fast and Furious gunwalking scandal by Feb. 9. That deadline has come and gone, and Holder’s Department of Justice still hasn’t provided most of those documents. Issa’s subpoena dates back to Oct. 12, 2011.

...“We cannot wait any longer for the Department’s cooperation,” Issa continued. “As such, please specify a date by which you expect the Department to produce all documents responsive to the subpoena. In addition, please specify a Department representative who will interface with the Committee for production purposes.”

Issa added that whoever Holder designates as the go-to DOJ official for delivering subpoenaed documents “should also serve as the conduit for dealing with the contempt proceedings, should the Department continue to ignore the Committee’s subpoena.”

The California Republican slammed Holder, too, for claiming the congressional investigation into Fast and Furious was a political game for Republicans... “It is ironic that while the Department’s delay tactics have extended this investigation into a presidential election year, you have had the audacity to characterize it as an attempt at ‘headline-grabbing Washington ‘gotcha’ games and cynical political point scoring,’” Issa wrote to Holder on Tuesday.

Issa also attacked Holder for Justice’s failure to comply with Congressional subpoenas. “Had the Department demonstrated willingness to cooperate with this investigation from the outset — instead of attempting to cover up its own internal mismanagement — this investigation likely would have concluded well before the end of 2011. In reality, it is the Department that is playing political gotcha games, instead of allowing a co-equal branch of government to perform its constitutional duty to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch.”

Issa’s letter concluded by warning that Congress will continue to investigate Operation Fast and Furious until responsible parties are held accountable. He pointed to bipartisan support behind efforts to assign responsibility for Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s murder, for the murders of at least 300 Mexican civilians and, likely, for the murder of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jaime Zapata.

“This is not an ‘election year political ‘gotcha’ game,’ but rather a bipartisan sentiment,” Issa wrote. “As Ranking Member [Democratic Rep. Elijah] Cummings promised the family of slain Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, ‘we will not rest until every single person responsible for all of this, no matter where they are, are brought to justice.’

The House Oversight Committee offers the following summary of their latest request.

The letter outlines lingering unanswered questions about Operation Fast and Furious including:

• Exactly how and when did senior Department officials learn the truth of what happened?

• Did Department officials retaliate against whistleblowers?

• Why did Department officials decide to move forward with prosecuting old cases involving highly objectionable tactics when line prosecutors had refused to do so?

• Why did senior Department officials fail to see the clear connection between Fast and Furious and prior flawed operations they have admitted they knew about?

• When did the Department first learn about Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer's February 2011 suggestion of gunwalking, and why did the Department wait so long before telling Congress about it?

• A year later, will the responsible senior Department officials be held accountable?

So soon? State Department warns travelers that the entire country of Mexico is, basically, a freaking war-zone

Although you wouldn't know it by the Obama administration's open-borders policy:

It’s amazing that only now do we get this serious travel warning when more people have been murdered every year in Mexico than in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s absolutely shameful that we’ve been propping up that government (remember that $2 billion we sent over last year?) and sending guns in while tens of thousands get murdered. Horrible.

Yep, no reason to build that wall. None at all.

Travel warning: Violence spreading in Mexico

Americans should avoid all but essential travel to all or parts of 14 Mexican states, the U.S. State Department warns as violence has spread. Shootouts, kidnappings and carjackings have climbed, as have cartels, also known as transnational criminal organizations (TCO), the State Department said this week in a broadened travel warning.

While millions of U.S. citizens safely visit Mexico every year, the country’s ongoing violence and security concerns pose risks for U.S. citizens, and travelers should take precautions, the State Department advises... More than 47,500 people were killed in drug-related violence in Mexico between December 2006 and September 2011, according to the State Department. While most of those murdered were involved in criminal activity, innocent people were also caught in the crossfire, the State Department said. Mexican President Felipe Calderon declared a crackdown on cartels in late 2006.

Say, I've got an idea! Let's have the ATF deliver thousands of weapons to the Mexican drug cartels. Maybe that will help!

Photos: Massive Food Shortage Unfolding in Mexico -- Is a Refugee Crisis Imminent?

I predict an influx of undocumented Democrats.

The Rarámuri indigenous community in northern Mexico faces severe food and water shortages after the region's worst drought in more than 70 years...

The people are getting angry:

Thousands Demand Food, Jobs in Mexico City - The shortage of basic foods and the spike in prices are devastating the urban dwellers who consume these goods daily,” National Peasants Confederation, or CNC, president Gerardo Sanchez said.

Even Mexico’s Drug Cartels Are Affected By Worst Drought In Years - Mexico is currently experiencing its most intense drought in 71 years... More than 2 million people in the country have been affected by the water shortage... Government officials warn that the drought could last for at least another five months, with freezing temperature in some states now threatening to endanger lives and crops... Nearly 7 percent of the country’s agricultural land, mostly in the north and centre, has suffered complete losses

Drought Threatens Food Supply of 2.5 Million Mexicans - Some 2.5 million people are at risk of going hungry due to the severe drought plaguing more than half of Mexico’s 32 states, a leading expert said Thursday... The shortage of rain has already led to the loss of 3.2 million tons of maize, 600,000 tons of beans and 60,000 head of cattle, he noted. ...Without measures to counteract the agricultural losses, “this population runs the risk of suffering hunger,” Romero said, calling it “paradoxical” that the government delayed so long in tapping some of Mexico’s $147 billion in international reserves to address the problems caused by the drought.

Success story #4,035 for Obama open border policies: beheadings in U.S. "look like work of drug cartels"

But remember, folks: the border "is as safe as it's ever been" (in the words of DHS Chief Janet Napolitano). Except for those pesky beheadings here in the U.S.:

Who: Carina Saunders, 19, born in Oklahoma City and grew up in Mustang, Oklahoma.

What: Torture, beheading and dismemberment.

When: Went missing (per friends) Wednesday, 28 September 2011; Killed, late Sunday, 9 October 2011/early Monday, 10 October 2011; Body found Thursday, 13 October 2011; Identified via tattoos and dental records, Monday, 17 October 2011.

Where: Found in a duffle bag behind a Homeland grocery store at 7101 NW. 23rd and Rockwell in Bethany, Oklahoma.

Why: Used as an example to terrify a group of women who were victims of a human trafficking (prostitution) ring and an associated drug trafficking ring. Note— some of the individuals involved were members of both rings.

Tactical Analysis: A 20 year old woman (name withheld by the police to protect her identity) was kidnapped, blindfolded and transported to an unknown location (some type of room) by Jimmy Lee Massey, age 33, late Sunday 9 October/early Monday 10 October 2011. She was then forced to watch the torture killing of Carina Saunders by a small group of individuals.

Three beheadings in two different states and they happened here in the United States, not Mexico. Former DEA supervisor Phil Jordan says all three beheadings have cartel written all over them. They happened in Arizona and Oklahoma in the past year.

A murder mystery is now unraveling on a stretch of North Reservation Road in Tucson, Ariz. County workers found a headless man lying on the side of the road Jan. 6. The man's hands and feet were reportedly missing, too.

"It would lead me to believe the message wanted to be sent. This is one of the ways they do it in Mexico, Colombia and other places," says Jordan... Jordan says the cartels are getting bolder in carrying out their beheadings across the border. He says we only used to see these crimes in Mexico.

...More than 600 miles from the border, a 19-year-old human trafficking victim was found beheaded in Oklahoma. Carina Saunders was stuffed into a bag and left in a grocery store parking lot.

...Investigators in Chandler, Ariz., say cartel operatives came from Mexico to kill 38-year-old Martin Alejandro Cota Monroy. His beheaded body was found in his apartment.

"One is too many; two is too many. Three should send an alarm," says Jordan.

You know what I would do if I were Attorney General Eric Holder?

That's right -- I'd sue states for enforcing federal immigration law. No matter how many murders, kidnappings, rapes, drug- and human smuggling operations, and related violence that American citizens must suffer.

Because Democrats need the votes, man. They need the votes!

Awesome: White House forcing approval of immigration requests, even those with 'fraud, eligibility or security' concerns

And I had such high hopes for the Obama administration:

Higher-ups within U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services are pressuring rank-and-file officers to rubber-stamp immigrants’ visa applications, sometimes against the officers’ will, according to a Homeland Security report and internal documents exclusively obtained by The Daily.

A 40-page report, drafted by the Office of Inspector General in September but not publicly released, details the immense pressure immigration service officers are under to approve visa applications quickly, sometimes while overlooking concerns about fraud, eligibility or security.

...high-ranking USCIS officials said the pressure has heightened after the Obama administration appointed Alejandro Mayorkas as director in August 2009 during an effort to pass comprehensive immigration reform, bringing with him a mantra of “get to yes.”

...At least five agency veterans seen as being too tough on applicants were either demoted, or given the choice between a demotion or a relocation from Southern California — where their families were — to San Francisco and Nebraska, according to sources and letters of reassignment provided to The Daily.

Those kind of threats have caused lower-level employees to fall in line, sources said.

Dammit! Every time I think I've finished The Complete List of Barack Obama's Historic Firsts, they roll out a new one.

E-Z to follow instructions: how to escape any traffic stop without a ticket!

Stopped for a traffic violation and don't want to get hit with an expensive ticket? Just follow these simple instructions:

1. When the police officer asks for your driver's license and registration, state: "No habla ingles."

2. As the police officer figures out how to react, recite the following sentence (preferably using a exaggerated accent): "I am an illegal alien to the United States."

3. Before the police officer can react to your second statement, close the deal with: "You are not allowed to ask for my papers. Eric Holder said so."

4. After the police officer shrugs, closes his traffic investigation pad and sends you on your way, put the car in D (not R, heh) and slowly drive away from the scene. Try not to unleash an evil cackle.

Note: If you are hassled at all, contact La Raza or some other separatist front group for the government of Mexico and figure out how to sue the city, town or county in question.

After all, according to the Obama administration and the Holder DOJ, no one has a right to ask you for your papers. And anyone who does so must be profiling.

By the way: if I had any entrepreneurial skills whatsoever, I'd turn this into a 30-minute infomercial and charge four installments of $19.95 for all of this valuable information.

Thank an open-borders Democrat today: Hezbollah operating in Mexico, likely preparing terror attacks in U.S.

Remember this?

This was the Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, the site of a massive truck-bombing that killed 241 U.S. servicemen in 1983.

The attack was orchestrated by Hezbollah, the fanatical Islamic terrorist group funded, trained and inspired by Iran's deadly regime.

Hezbollah is a particularly vicious, well-organized, and well-funded organization whose tentacles are extending ever closer to the U.S. homeland. And, thanks to the feckless policies of George W. Bush and -- especially -- Barack Obama, America's porous borders offer ample opportunity for professional terrorist groups to wreak havoc.

And havoc they will wreak, just as surely as night follows day.

In October, a Texas-car salesman was arrested in connection with an Iranian plot to kill Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Washington. Prosecutors say officials in Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps believed they were dealing with a "large and sophisticated" Mexican drug cartel to carry out the hit. A $100,000 down payment on the hit shows the Iranians were comfortable dealing with the cartel representative, who in fact was a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) informant.

Earlier this month, prosecutors in Virginia unsealed an indictment charging a Lebanese man, Ayman Joumaa, with smuggling more than 100 tons of Colombian cocaine with the Los Zetas Mexican drug cartel. Hizballah, an Iranian proxy in Lebanon, "derived financial support from the criminal activities of Joumaa's network," the U.S. Treasury Department claimed earlier this year.

...The law enforcement actions come amid a recent report citing Israeli intelligence saying Hizballah's funding from traditional state sponsors such as Iran and Syria has declined sharply. That financial crunch may be leading the Shiite group to build alliances with Mexican drug syndicates and increasingly fund its terrorist operations through profits from the lucrative South American cocaine trade.

...The growing nexus between Hizballah and Mexican drug cartels allows the Iran-backed extremist group to make use of drug cartel transit routes to gain entry into the United States through its porous border with Mexico. Hizballah, in turn, offers Mexican syndicates expertise on smuggling and explosives as well as access to its drug trafficking networks in the Middle East and South Asia.

Braun also alleged that members of Iran's Quds Force are "commanding and controlling" Hizballah's criminal operations in Latin America...

Thanks to the policies of President Obama and A.G. Eric Holder -- who are suing states for enforcing federal immigration law -- Hezbollah's entry routes into the U.S. will remain wide open.

The Obama administration appears to be actively encouraging illegal immigration in a cynical attempt to regain Hispanic voters. In fact, its tolerance of illegal immigration is so brazen that ICE agents have publicly warned Americans to "brace themselves for what's coming."

Indeed. Unless we toss this lawless group out of of office in 2012, the combination of open borders, Hezbollah, and a narcotics-fueled civil war will prove quite deadly for American citizens. Of that, there is no doubt.
