Sarah Alinsky

Rule #5, Rules for Radicals, by Saul Alinsky:

5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. It also infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.

Considering that Sarah Palin needs utter only a single statement -- and political hacks, the mainstream media, Hollywood celebrities and lefty blogs react with foaming-at-the-mouth fury -- I'd say she's learned much from Alinsky.

Andrew Breitbart's Stake in the Heart

This morning, members of the mainstream media woke up all over the country fixated on a single question: What is Andrew Breitbart up to?

Before he unleashed the ACORN blockbuster, the new media superstar issued a thinly veiled warning to the denizens of the fourth estate who had ignored the Van Jones story until the point of no return.

For most people in this country, the resignation was the first they had heard of Van Jones. For this sin of journalistic omission, there's institutional media blame. Bias is too tame a word for the utter shamelessness on display: Only Republican scandals - real and imagined - matter...

...the American mainstream media - ABC, NBC, CBS, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time, Newsweek, et al - must be held to account for sitting on the sidelines as this major story kept building without them, went viral on YouTube, and then became so large that a key appointee of President Obama was forced to step down...

...Much of America has started to realize that not only was Mr. Obama not vetted before he became president, he and his fellow unvetted cohorts continue to be given a pass...

This morning, writing in The Washington Times, Breitbart offered another intriguing glimpse into his approach.

...launching [the] compelling and stylized [ACORN] videos, we needed to offer the full transcripts and audio to the public in the name of transparency, and to offer Fox News the full footage of each video before each was released. We had to devise a plan that would force the media to see the evidence before they had enough time to destroy these two idealistic 20-something truth seekers. Mr. O'Keefe agreed to post the full audio and full transcript of his video experiences at BigGovernment.com... Thus was born a multimedia, multiplatform strategy designed to force the reluctant hands of ABC, CBS, NBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post.

...Jonathan Klein, CNN's president, is emerging as symbol of the mainstream media's last depressing days.

In an interview with Megyn Kelly on Fox News, Breitbart explained his rationale.

There is something desperately wrong with the mainstream media. And that's why we did the rollout the way that we did, because we wanted to not just expose ACORN for being corrupt, we wanted to expose that the mainstream media would treat this exactly like they treated the Van Jones story. And that's ignored until the consequences got too great for them to ignore.

Accuracy in Media's K. Daniel Glover asserts that Breitbart's plan is "to force the mainstream media to report the news."

I disagree. I believe Breitbart aims to put a stake the heart of the mainstream media's bellwether: The New York Times.

Lorie Byrd at Wizbang has an eerily similar take:

If you follow all the links above and track the story as it has evolved, you will see that there was plenty of "there" there and there has been plenty of time for the national media to pick up on it. Yet most in the mainstream media ignored it.

Consider Breitbart's careful staging of the ACORN story. He unpeeled the onion, layer by layer.

Each layer revealed more festering rot, more intellectual bankruptcy undergirding the mainstream media. Or, as some call it, the state-run media.

Let's walk through the thought process of a typical Times reader exposed to the second or third major story days or weeks after other outlets broke it.

1) "Despite plenty of opportunities, my newspaper refused to investigate this outrageous waste of my tax money."

2) "After someone else investigated the story and broke a major scandal, my newspaper refused to report on the story."

3) "Ergo, my newspaper is completely irrelevant."

Party affiliations and political views notwithstanding, few intelligent readers want to miss out on a series of major news stories. Yet Times' subscribers have been kept in the dark day after day, week after week, month after month.

Therefore, don't be surprised to see second half 2009 financial results for The New York Times Company described as "catastrophic."

And Andrew Breitbart's burgeoning new media empire is poised to benefit greatly. Perhaps he's the Hearst of our age.

Insane Progressive Headline o' the Day

I'm morally opposed to providing a direct link, but suffice it to say that you can easily find anti-human diatribes typical of the hard left enviro-statist media. A Reuters article ("Contraceptives vital to climate fight") characterizes their aims:

Contraception advice is crucial to poor countries' battle with climate change, and policy makers are failing their people if they continue to shy away from the issue, a leading family planning expert said on Friday.

Leo Bryant, a lead researcher on a World Health Organisation study on population growth and climate change, said the stigma attached to birth control in both developing and developed countries was hindering vital progress.

"We are certainly not advocating that governments should start telling people how many children they can have," said Bryant, an advocacy manager at the family planning group Marie Stopes International, who wrote a commentary in the Lancet medical journal on Friday.

"The ability to choose your family size...is a fundamental human right. But lack of access to family planning means millions of people in developing countries don't have that right," he told Reuters...

Repeat: the "stigma attached to birth control" is "hindering vital progress" in combating global warming or... climate change or... whatever they're calling it these days, now that the Earth is demonstrably cooler than ever.

Keith Olbermann's Psyche

Finally: Junior Cub Reporter Biff Spackle finds the authoritative diagram of Olbermann's brain:

If, like me, you feel on the onset of nausea every time "Strap-on Keith" appears during NBC's football broadcasts, I recommend one soothing tonic. OlbermannWatch is the definitive resource for incessant mockery of the world's most bizarre propagandist.

A shockingly racist screed from... NPR?

MoneyRunner points his spotlight at a bizarre diatribe authored by none other than NPR's Frank James (emphases mine).

[The] NPR commentator... has chosen to excuse the the ACORN personnel who are willing to help an assumed pimp and prostitute to set up a brothel, import under-age Central American children to become sex slaves, avoid taxes and scam the banks. [James] attributes this to the culture of the black underclass.

It's also important to keep in mind that ACORN's workers are coming from the same low-income neighborhoods the organization serves, with all that entails -- poor schools, high crime and the sorts of social problems that have been documented for decades.

So the flaws conservatives are pointing out about ACORN are not so much problems associated with that organization per se but more about the problems of being poor and minority in urban America.

NPR has been accused of racism by liberals (see comments on the NPR website) and conservatives alike who deny that this is what black culture is all about. Yet look at the videos. The ACORN personnel don’t bat an eye...

Selling children into sex slavery? No problem.

Illegal immigration? Can do!

Tax evasion? Elementary, my dear.

Democrats revel in keeping minorities under their thumbs. They oppose charter schools and school choice for inner city kids; welfare reform and a concomitant reduction in single-parent families; and the free-market, a system which truly knows no racism.

Some genuine introspection on the part of real progressives would raise serious questions about their support of Democrat Party bigwigs.

Update: State public relations officer Errol Lewis calls the ACORN tapes a "witch hunt".

What do Jimmy Carter, Maureen Dowd and Mike Lupica have in common?

You're stumped, aren't you? Think about it: what do Jimmy Carter, Maureen Dowd and Mike Lupica have in common?

FDR Care -- In November 1934, President Franklin D. Roosevelt stated, "Whether we come to this form of insurance soon or later on, I am confident that we can devise a system which will enhance and not hinder the remarkable progress which has been made and is being made in practice of the professions of medicine and surgery in the United States."

After years of false starts, Democrat Congressmen Wagner, Murray and Dingell (don't ask) introduced a national health insurance bill in 1943 -- and every year afterward for 14 consecutive years. The bill instituted a national health insurance package for all citizens, which was paid for with a mandatory payroll tax. Its backers included organized labor, progressive farmers, and liberal physicians who lobbied fiercely for socialized medicine. But Republicans and everyday citizens rallied to oppose the bill. Eventually, this coalition was able to defeat the Democrat effort.

Truman Care -- In November 1945, President Harry Truman addressed Congress regarding the urgent need to nationalize health care. He stated, "[In September, Democrats proposed an] Economic Bill of Rights[, which elaborated upon] certain rights which ought to be assured to every American citizen... One of them was: 'The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health... [and the] ...right to adequate protection from the economic fears of . .. sickness ....'".

Republicans banded together behind powerful Republican Senator Robert Taft to marshal public support against socialized medicine. Democrats lost control of the Congress until 1948, at which point they tried and failed again.

HillaryCare -- Upon taking office, President Bill Clinton assigned his wife Hillary to create a program that would nationalize the American health care system. Working for months, she orchestrated an immense health care bill that was intended to completely transform the entire delivery of medical care in the United States.

Her bill, The Clinton Health Care Plan of 1993, otherwise known as HillaryCare™, was defeated as a coalition consisting of "conservatives, libertarians and the health insurance industry" representatives united to rally public support against socialized medicine.

By September 1994, Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell declared the bill dead.

ObamaCare -- Unlike previous Democrat efforts to implement socialized medicine, if you oppose Barack Obama's form of National Socialized Democrat health care, you're a Nazi racist bastard. That is, according to:

Jimmy Carter
Maureen Dowd
Mike Lupica
• and numerous other liberal crackpots.

Even though Republicans, Libertarians and those who support the United States Constitution have been fighting socialized medicine for 75 years, your opposition represents: RACISM. You're all f***ing racists, get it?

Screw the Constitution! Screw the Bill of Rights! Screw the Declaration of Independence! You've got a President with a slightly different skin color: you're not allowed to express dissent! You're all racists! So shut the hell up, you wingnuts!

Update: MSNBC, thy name is racist!

Pat Buchanan, Truther

I've despised Patrick J. Buchanan for years.

His thinly veiled calls for racial divisiveness.

His underhanded attempts to market holocaust denial on his website.

His ludicrous claim that Hitler was really a misunderstood pacifist.

Buchanan should have been persona non grata at any respectable outlet years ago, but I'm hopeful his latest outrageous decision will put a stake in the heart of his pathetic mainstream media career once and for all.*

Buchanan's site is now pitching 9/11 Trutherism -- the disgusting, hard left religion that asserts George W. Bush secretly planned the 9/11 attacks.

...Another problem that the 9/11 Truth Movement faces is that few people have the education to follow the technical and scientific aspects...

For example, consider the case of the Lockerbie bomber. One piece of “evidence” that was used to convict Magrahi was a piece of circuit board from a device that allegedly contained the Semtex that exploded the airliner. None of the people, who have very firm beliefs in Magrahi’s and Libya’s guilt and in the offense of the Scottish authorities in releasing Magrahi on allegedly humanitarian grounds, know that circuit boards of those days have very low combustion temperatures and go up in flames easily. Semtex produces very high temperatures. There would be nothing whatsoever left of a device that contained Semtex. It is obvious to an expert that the piece of circuit board was planted after the event...

So not only is this idiot -- hosted by Buchanan -- selling the rancid excretion known as Trutherism... he's also asserting that the Pan Am 103 terrorist attack, the subsequent investigation, the military operations that followed... all were somehow orchestrated by mysterious forces.

Pat Buchanan is no conservative.

He's a freaking disgrace and a crackpot... the ideological equivalent of Jimmy Carter or Bill Maher.

Come to think of it, Maher's is the one show that should warmly welcome Putz Buchanan. All six viewers should have a ball.

* Except for MSNBC, which no longer qualifies as a media outlet due to viewership lower than airport radar.

Two million... or 306?

Jim Hoft says that ABC and CNN have reported that more than two million protesters attended the protest in Washington today.

Other estimates:

Up to 2 million: London's Daily Mail
1.5 million: Tea Party Patriots organizer Debbie Dooley
Tens of thousands: Associated De-Press-ed
Tens of thousands: Washington Com-Post
Thousands: New York Tass
306: Keith 'Strap-On' Olbermann

This follows yesterday's protest, ignored by the mainstream media, that saw hundreds of physicians gather to protest ObamaCare.

New York Times reports Census Bureau fired ACORN; fails to say why

With word that the Census Bureau cuts its ties to ACORN, The New York Times was finally forced to report on events resulting from a stunning expose involving illegal immigration, child prostitution, smuggling rings and tax fraud. But, with its typical disdain for readers, the Times failed to report why the Census Bureau had fired ACORN.

The Census Bureau on Friday severed its ties with Acorn, a community organization that Republicans have accused of voter-registration fraud...

Stephen Buckner, a bureau spokesman, confirmed the letter, but declined to comment further... Scott Levenson, an Acorn spokesman, did not immediately respond to a request for comment... Republicans had become increasingly critical of the bureau’s ties with Acorn.

Some members of the group, which conducted an extensive voter registration effort last year, were accused of submitting false registration forms with names like Mickey Mouse.

Citizen-journalist James O'Keefe described how he set about exposing ACORN's thoroughly rotten innards:

The scenario we posed the ACORN Housing employees in Baltimore is due to the application of similar power tactics. We gave ACORN a taste of its own medicine. ACORN was alleged to be thug-like, criminal, and nefarious. This criminal behavior was evidenced by a video of Baltimore ACORN community organizers breaking the locks on foreclosed homes. Instead of railing against their radicalism, it is best to bring out this type of radicalism. Hannah Giles and I took advantage of ACORN’s regard for thug criminality by posing the most ridiculous criminal scenario we could think of and seeing if they would comply–which they did without hesitation.

Additionally, instead of focusing on foreclosure itself, which has become seemingly as politicized as abortion, we focused on crimes more difficult for the left to defend: trafficking of young helpless girls and tax evasion. The first group represents the severely disadvantaged, the second a threat to the distribution of wealth.

...These tactics allow the viewer to see ACORN’s soul; their playing field and their morality, out in the open. Their system is based on conflict and change for its own sake. This system is based on totalitarian principles and class war techniques. These people understand pressure, power and self-interest. When the Baltimore employees saw we were shady dealers, their instincts clicked in, as we were prime recruits.

If you were a typical Times reader, however, you would have no clue what had led to ACORN's ouster. If you were a Times reader, you might have wondered 'what happened'?

Might a citizen-journalist have exposed the vile corruption endemic in a rancid organization that undermines fair elections? Might that citizen-journalist have videotaped ACORN workers helping to facilitate a child prostitution ring using illegal immigrants as pawns?

Which leads to some very sobering questions:

How much crime has ACORN helped facilitate? How many lives has it already destroyed? How many cases of child prostitution has it already organized? How much illegal immigration has it already facilitated? How much tax fraud has it orchestrated?

If you're a Times reader, you'd have missed every one of these points because of Bill Keller's willful deception.

Boycott The New York Times. Completely. I don't care if you get it for the Sports section or just the Sunday Edition. You'll make do without. And you'll also get the real news, whether you choose another paper or simply use the Internet.

Cancel your subscription now: call 1-800-NYTIMES (1-800-698-4637) and tell them to stop billing you. Remember not to cancel your friends and neighbors' subscriptions, because that would be deceptive.

Yobie Benjamin: Idiot With a Word Processor

When the Smithsonian opens its "Last Vestiges of the Newspaper Business" exhibit, Yobie Benjamin's masterpiece of propaganda will hold a hallowed position.

47% of America voted for John McCain so it is fair to say that Fox cable news and the right wing's agent provocateur Glenn Beck has a lot of fans... [he] claims Obama's "civilian national security force" is "what Hitler did with the SS," "what Saddam Hussein" did. Beck also says Obama wants us all to work for ACORN or Americorps...

From what I read from Media Matters and thorough scan of all of the President's speeches, he was talking about expanding AmeriCorps, the Peace Corps and the foreign service not some uniformed version of East Germany's Stasi.

Benjamin's use of Media Matters as a source is somewhat akin to relying upon a Magic Eight Ball for major life decisions.

Of course, Benjamin neglects to actually describe Obama's speeches referencing a "civilian national security force". The reasons he omits the transcripts are obvious:

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded." -- Barack Obama, July 2008

President Obama asserts that the U.S. military cannot achieve national security objectives and that the country therefore requires a civilian national security force. His words, not mine.

Yobie Benjamin's Goebbels-like attempts to obfuscate Obama's statements are more than mere spin: they are patent lies. Although, to be fair, this sort of public fabrication isn't entirely unexpected from the dying newspaper business, which is defending its last spit of turf like Custer at Little Big Horn.

Harry Reid's Bullying Tactics Called Out By Nevada's Largest Newspaper

The publisher of Nevada's largest newspaper, Sherman Frederick, unleashed a scathing account of an incident involving Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

On Wednesday, before he addressed a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Reid joined the chamber's board members for a meet-'n'-greet and a photo. One of the last in line was the Review-Journal's director of advertising, Bob Brown, a hard-working Nevadan who toils every day on behalf of advertisers. He has nothing to do with news coverage or the opinion pages of the Review-Journal.

Yet, as Bob shook hands with our senior U.S. senator in what should have been nothing but a gracious business setting, Reid said: "I hope you go out of business."

Later, during his public speech, Reid again referenced the Las Vegas Review-Journal and his hopes that it suffers an economic calamity.

The paper's perceived crimes? It published public opinion polls that show Reid trailing GOP challenger Danny Tarkanian by double digits.

Frederick refuses to be bullied by Reid:

Such behavior cannot go unchallenged.

You could call Reid's remark ugly and be right. It certainly was boorish. Asinine? That goes without saying.

But to fully capture the magnitude of Reid's remark (and to stop him from doing the same thing to others) it must be called what it was -- a full-on threat perpetrated by a bully who has forgotten that he was elected to office to protect Nevadans, not sound like he's shaking them down.

No citizen should expect this kind of behavior from a U.S. senator. It is certainly not becoming of a man who is the majority leader in the U.S. Senate. And it absolutely is not what anyone would expect from a man who now asks Nevadans to send him back to the Senate for a fifth term.

If he thinks he can push the state's largest newspaper around by exacting some kind of economic punishment in retaliation for not seeing eye to eye with him on matters of politics, I can only imagine how he pressures businesses and individuals who don't have the wherewithal of the Review-Journal.

It goes without saying that the unaccountable, "ethically challenged" leadership of the Democrat Party is capable of anything when it comes to getting their way. This, remember, is the party of ACORN, dead voters, and paying for votes with crack cocaine.

To his credit, Frederick is having none of it.

For the sake of all who live and work in Nevada, we can't let this bully behavior pass without calling out Sen. Reid. If he'll try it with the Review-Journal, you can bet that he's tried it with others. So today, we serve notice on Sen. Reid that this creepy tactic will not be tolerated.

We won't allow you to bully us. And if you try it with anyone else, count on going through us first.

That's a promise, not a threat.

And it's a promise to our readers, not to you, Sen. Reid.

People of Nevada, Harry "Land Deal" Reid no more represents your interests than he does the life forms on Betelgeuse. You need to kick his butt out of office in 2010 and find someone who actually cares about Nevada... and the citizens of the United States.

Media Matters' Karl Frisch: Josef Goebbels Would Be Proud

Karl Frisch is one of Media Matters' (i.e., George Soros') professional liars -- I'm pretty sure that the job title even appears on his business card. In his weekly wrapup, Frisch can't keep himself from spewing the most virulent of lies and -- true to form -- he gets mired in his own written excrement.

In "Storming Camelot: Sen. Kennedy's Death Brings Out Worst from the Right", Frisch observes that:

When they weren't busy attacking Kennedy's legacy, media conservatives -- like Fox News' Laura Ingraham -- were attacking Democrats for purportedly attempting to use his passing to stifle debate and enact health care reform legislation, repeatedly calling this supposed tactic the "death card."

'Purportedly attempting'?

Purportedly attempting?

It took all of seventeen seconds to find Democrats not only lobbying for ObamaCare at Ted Kennedy's funeral...they were praying for it! AllahPundit asks:

I’ve been informed by liberal amateur theologians that it’s perfectly kosher to pray for universal health care — on TV, in the middle of a national debate, at a funeral service ostensibly devoted to grieving over someone, by exploiting an innocent child — because, um, Jesus would have supported it. I’m happy to discover that the left’s decades of righteous outrage at Christian conservatives for mixing religion with politics was, as so much else is, simple partisan posturing, but I’m unfamiliar with the sermon where Jesus called for Caesar to create a public fund to heal the sick. Can any Bible aficionados help?

Frisch's entire piece is something even Josef Goebbels might admire. His claim that the egregiously partisan Paul Wellstone memorial service wasn't, er, partisan is simply a "Big Lie" in capital letters.

The left-leaning Slate Magazine writer in attendance described the event as a political "pep rally":

Most of the event feels like a rally. The touching recollections are followed by sharply political speeches urging Wellstone's supporters to channel their grief into electoral victory. The crowd repeatedly stands, stomps, and whoops. The roars escalate each time Walter Mondale, the former vice president who will replace Wellstone on the ballot, appears on the giant screens suspended above the stage. "Fritz! Fritz!" the assembly chants.

...as the evening's speakers proceed, it becomes clear that to them, honoring Wellstone's legacy is all about winning the election. Repeating the words of Wellstone's son, the assembly shouts, "We will win! We will win!" Rick Kahn, a friend of Wellstone's, urges everyone to "set aside the partisan bickering," but in the next breath he challenges several Republican senators in attendance to "honor your friend" by helping to "win this election for Paul Wellstone." What can he be thinking?

Mr. Frisch: here's a word of advice: lay off the nachos and start exercising, because you're beginning to look like James Wolcott.

Another benefit of cutting that cheese from your diet: you could clear up that decade-long case of constipation you've been suffering from.

Which would actually benefit your listening and writing skills.

Conor Friedersdorf can't see the Statists for the Forest

Writing at The Atlantic, journalist Conor Friedersdorf reviews Mark Levin's bestselling Liberty & Tyranny. I'll give him credit; at least Friedersdorf has dared to tread where virtually every mainstream media outlet has not: in a direct exchange of fire with a towering intellect.

Friedersdorf (or 'Dorf' as I like to call him, mainly because I get tired of typing his full name) argues that Levin's argument is flawed at its core. Dorf says that the "Statist" is a straw-man -- a mirage created out of whole cloth by Levin for the purpose of advancing his argument. By the way, I just saved you from having to read the entire review.

Dorf's assertion is that, "Hey, the Democrats can't be Statists, because most of the people who vote for them are independents or just left of center!"

Now, consider, Dorf: had Obama actually described his agenda -- that he would escalate partisanship to an exquisite form of art; that he would nationalize the auto companies; that he would employ dozens of lobbyists in his administration; that he would destroy the full faith and credit of the U.S. currency; that he would quadruple the national debt in six months' time; that he would send billions to criminal front groups like ACORN; that he would send his SecTreas, hat in hand, to beg the Chinese to continue purchasing our debt...

Well, Dorf, had Obama told the truth, we'd be hearing weekly radio addresses from President John McCain and watching his Secretary of State, Lindsay 'Goober' Graham, deplane in Geneva.

Amazing: Dorf can't see the Statists while Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Waters, Feinstein, Rangel and the like -- the most corrupt federal government since the Clinton era -- nationalize industry after industry.

Dorf can't find any Statists while the Democrat leadership positions themselves to take over the coal, gas and oil companies with Cap-and-Trade.

Dorf can't find any Statists while the Democrat leadership proposes to ram socialized medicine down the unwilling throats of the American people even though it has been exposed as a transparent payoff to the trial lawyers and the public sector unions.

Why did so many everyday Americans support Obama? Because the Democrat lies, incessantly and masterfully, throughout each of his campaigns.

But that's too difficult a concept for Dorf to understand. So there is no joy at The Atlantic, because pathetic Friedersdorf has struck out.

Update: Reader CJ emails, "I posted the following comment at Balloon Juice, the whack-a-doodle National Socialist Democrat site who couldn't squeeze out even a thimble's worth of intellectual honesty in reviewing (no, not Levin's book), the Friedersdorf review of the book. Now there's one thing I most respect about your site... everyone is allowed to comment! So check out my Balloon Juice comment that was so offensive, so radical, so outrageous, that the authors refused to even allow to appear."

Interesting thread.

Mark Levin's book, should any of you actually bother to read it, describes the philosophers who influenced the founders of this country. Why?

Because starting with Cicero, Montescue (sp?), Burke, Locke, Smith and others, the framers (Madison, Jay and many others) carefully constructed a constitution that would balance the powers not only between the three branches but also between the states and the federal government.

It is easy to forget that the states created the federal government... not the other way around. And the founders had just revolted against (and defeated) an unchecked, authoritarian, unaccountable centralized government.

The framers' central task was simple: protect the God-given rights of the individual to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness... from a government similar to the one they had warred against.

Consider what James Madison might say today, having observed the liberals' casual attempts to control virtually every aspect of our lives at the federal level: your health care; your toilet's water tank; your car; your home heating bill; your light bulbs; ...

The framers and today's conservatives are ideologically aligned.

The framers and today's liberals are ideologically opposed.

And it takes a great deal of hubris to discard Levin's argument without a whit of analysis. But that's what passes for intellectual honesty around these parts, I suppose.

Ballon Juice, eh? That's the same crew that couldn't add straight.

Update: Stacy McCain says Friedersdork's attack on Levin isn't worth the seventeen minutes of my time: "It's as if a gnat [Friedersdork] were attempting to rape an elephant. Why bother defending the elephant against an assailant whose ill-considered attack the intended victim probably won't even notice?" Uhm, because it's there? Further update: Dan Riehl and Jimmie open a can of you-know-what on poor Conor, who won't be revisiting these parts anytime soon.

The ObamaCare ad that terrifies ABC and NBC

This is the ad that ABC and NBC are so terrified of that they refuse to run it. Narrated by a neurosurgeon, its logic is irrefutable, its message simple and its impact indelible.

The League of American Voters needs your support in running this ad on other channels. Click to watch and, if possible, help.

As an aside, isn't it tragic that the mainstream media has dedicated itself to suppressing free speech? Here's my suggestion: don't watch ABC or NBC. Ever.

Eric Holder's Spicy Tuna Roll

What do we got, today, George?

Uhm, first file: those terrorists from Los Macheteros who petitioned for release?

Refresh my memory. What'd they do?

You know, the ones who bombed 130 different locations, robbed a couple of banks, killed six people and injured a couple of hundred others.

Oh, that's right. Stamp that one: PARDON.

Okey doke. Next file: that financier friend of the big-wigs... he's a fugitive living in Switzerland who committed tax evasion, racketeering and trading with the enemy. But his wife looks like she'll pony up a million for various "good causes".

Okay, that's a PARDON.

#3: those Black Panthers who stood at a polling place, dressed in paramilitary garb, swinging billy clubs and screaming racial threats?

Mmmm, that's a tough one. Eenie, meenie, miney, moe, catch a tiger by the toe, if he... just kidding: PARDON.

Finally, we've got the CIA agents who were interrogating the USS Cole and 9/11 terrorists.

What'd they do, again?

Brace yourself, this is some shocking stuff. First, they blew cigar smoke in the USS Cole bomber's face...

Cigar smoke? What the...?

It gets worse. They revved up a power drill to scare the guy. They made lots of scary noises like that.

I've heard enough! Those sons of b***hes! That is just un-f***ing-acceptable! Throw the book at 'em, Georgie! Throw the book at 'em. Let 'em know: We. Mean. Business.

Oh, and George, could you call up my personal physician at Bethesda and book an appointment for me this afternoon? Those spicy tuna rolls gave me a real tummy ache.

Sure thing, boss. Whoa! Criminey... ...uhm, before I take these files over to Barry, I'll have Anne Marie get you some Gas-X.

Dumb ass tweet o' the day

9/11? Good heavens, man, get a grip.

For those unfamiliar with Cooper: he is your run-of-the-mill National Socialist Democrat who just happens to be employed by the state-run media.

SEIU-linked Familes USA issues health care "study" pushing single-payer, MSM gratefully reprints nationwide

Families USA, a group that supports socialist causes, is working with public sector unions to fund $12 million in television ads supporting single-payer, government-run health care.

And when Families USA issued another of its curiously biased press release "studies" today, the mainstream media hungrily threw the stories into their content management systems, eager to reprint the press release in support of a big government takeover of health care.

A sampling of headlines, customized by region:

• Florida: Study: Fla. health insurance costs grow at triple the rate of income
• Maine: Health Insurance Premiums in Maine Skyrocketing, Study Indicates
• Connecticut: Study: Health care costs grow 7x faster than pay
• New Hampshire: NE health costs rise faster than pay
• Nevada: Report: Health care costs rising faster than wages
• Pennsylvania: Report: Health care costs rising faster than wages

There are certainly ones I missed. Put simply, the MSM just donated hundreds of thousands of dollars in free advertising in order to help market the leftist agenda.

Note that this is the second time the decripit, dying mainstream media has conspired with Families USA to push socialized medicine on a resistant American public.

How come these groups never complain about government costs growing? After all, at least private insurers have to compete with one another. Who does the federal government compete with?

Oh, that's right. These groups despise America's laws, our traditions, our Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, which strictly forbid the federal government's interference in these affairs.

No matter, the progressives say that the Constitution is "living and breathing" (unlike the mainstream media), so they can morph it into any illegal direction they prefer.

The death of old media can't come quick enough.
