The Border Protest You Never Heard About

President Obama visited El Paso, TX on May, 10th and mocked those concerned about border security with tales of "moats and alligators". Upon hearing this rhetoric, a group of citizens directly impacted by Democrats' open-borders policy decided to take action, not that you'd ever hear about it from legacy media.

The residents of the Chiricahua-Peloncillo drug and human smuggling corridor that runs from the Mexican border north through eastern Arizona and western New Mexico are circulating a petition to send to the White House in response to President Obama's recent immigration speech.

"It is with great wonderment and sadness that we listened to your May 10 speech on immigration issues. All of the joking about moats and alligators cut residents of Portal, AZ, to the core as we sheltered with friends or at a Red Cross evacuation site, to survive a terrible fire that still threatens our lives and property, as well as our ecotourism-based economy," the letter reads.

On Sunday, a massive fire broke out in Horseshoe Canyon, about 50 miles north of the Mexican border, which residents and law enforcement say they believe was started by criminal illegal aliens. Last year, a fire in the same location caused more than $10 million in damages.

"During its first 24-hrs, the fire consumed a greater area than did last year's fire over a 6-week period. Local residents were roused after midnight, and some slept fitfully in cars after fleeing with family photos and any valuables that could be quickly assembled. Elderly retirees left with medical supplies, including oxygen tanks on which some depend," the letter reads.

...Jeff Gee, one of the organizers behind the petition and a firefighter battling the still-burning fire in Horseshoe Canyon, says he was insulted by Obama's speech... "We’re doing everything we can to get the word out that this is serious problem, it’s not just a border issue, the drugs and crime are moving through the corridor and they keep going to major cities. I don’t know if this letter will help, but nothing else is."

Cochise County, Ariz., Sheriff Larry Dever, who penned an op-ed in The New York Times Friday describing the plight of border residents, [said] that the petition is a plea for the administration to take a closer look at the hardships they are suffering... "These people are not overreacting. What they suggest in letter is very deep part of their belief system based on their experience and their experience has been horrific -- they see human smuggling and drug trafficking, they sit on their porch and watch people walk through, they've had their homes burglarized," Dever said.

...In the letter, petitioners say that despite the president's protestations, "neither the border nor daily life" is secure... "Seizure of record quantities of drugs may pad the statistics of Homeland Security, but it does nothing to ease the burdens we have been forced to bear. Over the years, as our homes have been burgled or invaded, our fences, water lines and windows repeatedly broken, our businesses driven toward bankruptcy, our natural surroundings desecrated by trash and fire, and our lives even obliterated (neighbor Rob Krentz, murdered by a drug scout), it has amazed us how little note is taken of these tragedies by our government and the press," the letter reads.

Unfortunately, these pleas are certain to fall on deaf ears, because the Democrats need the votes, man!

And I don't mean the votes of legal immigrants, Hispanic or otherwise. I mean undocumented Democrats.

Demonizing Conservatives. Literally! [Photo]

Dan from New York:

The Joker?

This is a picture by Reuters of Rep. Paul Ryan, Chairman of the U.S. House Budget Committee, at a dinner hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama in the White House on May 2, 2011. It appears as a photo illustration accompanying an online Reuters story today about budget negotiations. Anybody who has ever worked in the news media knows that dozens of photographs (or scores) are taken from many angles and then evaluated before one is approved for publication.

Hurry and click the links before Reuters’ twits realize what twits they are and pull the shot down.

Hint for legacy media: this continual demonization of Republicans is getting old and tired. Like legacy media itself.

WTF at WTC? Obama Has American Flag Removed From Ground Zero Site Moments Before Photo Shoot! [Updated: or Perhaps Tapper Just Confused All of Us]

ABC's Jake Tapper was on the scene. He disbelievingly tweeted:

Here's his photo of the take-down.

This administration and, by extension, the Democrat Party are now so thoroughly divorced from the history, traditions and morals of America that we might as well admit the Marxist left has executed a successful coup d'état on this Republic.

Update: The timing of Tapper's tweet is the subject of some discussion now on Twitter. @AllahPundit offers this photo of the wreath-laying, which depicts the flag in the background. So exactly what Tapper was talking about is a mystery to me.

Update II: Michelle Malkin gets to the bottom of it (hat tip: Tabitha Hale):

Earlier this morning, I tweeted a link to Doug Ross’s post highlighting a seemingly outrageous photo from ABC News White House reporter Jake Tapper showing the American flag being removed from Ground Zero.

Tapper wrote: “One minute to air and they decided to take the flag down from the live shot!”

Many, including me, jumped to the conclusion that the stage managers at the White House had the flag removed.

It’s not true... As Allahpundit points out, Tapper tweeted the photo at the end of the day yesterday after the Ground Zero event and the flag was visible during the ceremony.

As do I. But I'm sticking by my "Marxist coup d'état" comment.

Update III: Why the Leftists commenting here are idiots: (a) the next retraction one of the Left-leaning media sources makes will be their first (e.g., "Terror Wiretaps plus Invasion of Iraq plus Rendition plus Waterboarding Led to Bin Laden"); (b) Obama's on-again/off-again flag-pin patriotism; (c) and his well-documented failures to show respect to the flag -- all make it clear that Tapper's tweet would be utterly believable in the original context.

Don't let the blog's door hit you on the ass on the way out, drones.

Update IV: Flashback: 'Obama White House ordered coverup of religious symbols for Georgetown speech'

Pass the Popcorn, Nahanni: Left Wing San Francisco Chronicle In All-Out P.R. War With Most Transparent Administration Ever

For an administration that likes to talk about "transparency", the Obama White House has earned the worst reputation for ostracizing media in modern American history.

Remember, in October of 2009, Obama's minions unsuccessfully attempted to ban cable news leader Fox News from the White House press pool.

Now, the most thin-skinned president ever (he's 'historic') is engaging in an all-out P.R. war with the ultra-left wing rag The San Francisco Chronicle.

Let's recap:

First, the Chronicle reported that the 'Administration exercise[d] its control freak streak' by threatening the paper after it reported unfavorable news:

It seems that Team Obama was none too pleased that veteran Chronicle political reporter Carla Marinucci posted a 40-second video of a group of supporters-turned-protesters serenading the president a cappella - "We paid our dues ... where's our change" - at a recent fundraising breakfast at San Francisco's St. Regis Hotel. The protesters' objection: the treatment of Wikileaks source Pfc. Bradley Manning.

The White House threatened that Marinucci would no longer be allowed to serve as a pool reporter during future Obama swings west. Marinucci's apparent offense was shooting video during an event that was closed to broadcast journalism...

...An administration truly dedicated to transparency would not require journalists to be "in the tank" as a condition of being in the pool.

Second, using its online public relations arm (the so-called "Politico", aka last refuge of downsized WaPo hacks), the White House denied it threatened the left-wing San Francisco newspaper.

The White House is denying that it threatened to exclude the San Francisco Chronicle from presidential events in its coverage area after one of its reporters recorded a video of singing protesters at a fundraiser last week that was restricted to print reporters...

...White House spokesman Josh Earnest told POLTICO on Friday that the Chronicle’s claims are “not true,” and that no such threat was ever made, but he wouldn’t provide further details...

Finally, the Chronicle today called the White House liars.

In a pants-on-fire moment, the White House press office today denied anyone there had issued threats to remove Carla Marinucci and possibly other Hearst reporters from the press pool covering the President in the Bay Area.

Chronicle editor Ward Bushee called the press office on its fib:

Sadly, we expected the White House to respond in this manner based on our experiences yesterday. It is not a truthful response. It follows a day of off-the-record exchanges with key people in the White House communications office who told us they would remove our reporter, then threatened retaliation to Chronicle and Hearst reporters if we reported on the ban, and then recanted to say our reporter might not be removed after all.

The Chronicle's report is accurate.

If the White House has indeed decided not to ban our reporter, we would like an on-the-record notice that she will remain the San Francisco print pool reporter.

I was on some of those calls and can confirm Ward's statement... Messy ball now firmly in White House court.

Mr. Producer, please cue the Joe Wilson "You lied!" soundtrack.

Oh and, hey, Nahanni -- where's the buttered popcorn, dear?

Actual Yahoo! News Headline: 'Right Wingers Continue to Mean-Spiritedly Nitpick at President Obama'

Tipster JTT writes:

This is a real headline on Yahoo! News:

Who's writing this s***? Michelle Obama?

The author of the original article, some crackpot named Roy Barnes, vilifies criticism of President Obama. He writes: "Being against a president over his policies is one thing, but being petty over everything Obama says and does reflects the mean-spiritedness of many in the conservative movement."

Because Barnes and the rest of the rabid Left never, ever mocked Emperor Chimpy McBushitlerburton in a mean-spirited way, right?

Diagnosing CBS News with Bipolar Disorder

Dammit, Jim, I'm a blogger, not a doctor -- but I've diagnosed CBS News with all the symptoms of Bipolar disorder. On the one hand, CBS scooped the entire media establishment with its aggressive and groundbreaking reportage of "Project Gunrunner".

Damning, newly-obtained emails show that a key gun shop owner made explicit concerns in writing last year in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms’ “gunwalking” scandal.

Starting in late 2009, ATF allegedly directed an undetermined number of Phoenix-area gun shop owners to go ahead with sales of thousands of assault rifles and other weapons to suspicious buyers...

... Insiders claim ATF knew the buyers were connected to Mexico’s drug cartels, but let the guns “walk” onto the street anyway in a misguided attempt to obtain intelligence... Investigators from Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) obtained the emails this week.

The ATF's stonewalling on Gunrunner has become so obvious that Rep. Darrell Issa today threatened to initiate contempt of Congress proceedings, which could result in fines and jail time for officials.

So while CBS has done yeoman's work on Gunrunner, it simultaneously appears to be censoring a recording of President Obama that could further damage his reelection hopes.

Last weekend, His Presidency Barack Obama was captured making potentially offensive comments to a group of big money donors who had paid large sums of money for special access to His Presidency.

We observed that CBS only released “selectively edited” moments from the raw tape. We know how much the mainstream media values complete and full disclosure of recordings of this nature, so we found it curious, to say the least, that there was not one drop of intellectual curiosity from these guardians of media purity regarding the content of the full recording.

Maybe CBS’s motive has nothing to do with protecting His Presidency from potential embarrassment. Perhaps, like Nixon before them, CBS accidentally erased the portions of the recording that they have not released. Anything is possible, right?

Alas, no. John Romano, Publisher of the blog “Yes, But, However!” has confirmed with CBS’s Mark Knoller (via Twitter) that CBS has decided that they are not going to release the complete recording.

@yesbuthowever Why haven’t you released all of the audio of President Obama’s “donor meeting”? If you have please link?

@markknoller This is my third request. Why will you not release the full audio of Obama’s donor conversation?

@markknoller My editors decided against it.

People can speculate as to what their motive is, but we suspect that they do not want to jeopardize their White House access leading into campaign season by being the ones to release the audio of His Presidency referring to Americans as "slugs."

I tweeted Knoller to ask if he'd heard the entire tape and whether he could summarize the president's remarks.

My jaw will drop to the floor if I get a response.

Paul Krugman: How Dare Those Idiots at S&P Downgrade Their Outlook on U.S. Debt -- Don't They Know I Won a Nobel Prize?

For a guy who purports to be an economist, Paul Krugman seems far better suited to the role of propagandist. After markets were roiled today when Standard & Poor's shifted its outlook on U.S. debt to "Negative", Krugman reacted with haste and his usual attention to, uhm, detail.

You see, Krugman's a proponent of even more deficit spending and unchecked, centralized government. As such, he treats the very rational reactions to U.S. deficit spending by rating agencies as personal affronts.

OK, so Standard and Poors [sic] has warned that it might downgrade the US one of these days. At first read, what it says doesn’t seem too silly: it lays stress, rightly, on political gridlock. The point should be that the US is perfectly capable both of running large deficits now and getting its fiscal house in order over time; but not if the parties cannot agree on any kind of solution. What we do to spending this year or next is irrelevant.

That said, it’s worth remembering that S&P downgraded Japan in 2002 — and here’s what happened:

Japanese bonds became known as the “trade of death”, because people kept betting on an interest rate rise, and it kept not happening.

So, no big deal.

No big deal.

Dimwit (or propagandist) that he is, Olberkrugmann omits four salient details as context:

• Japan has a huge domestic market for its bonds as its citizens routinely convert savings into government bonds for patriotic reasons, not necessarily because they're sound investments.

• The Obama deficit spending is far worse than we've generally been led to believe: "The bottom line, and probably the main reason for the implicit S&P downgrade of the US, is that comparison [of] the President's budget to the CBO baseline indicates that deficits are expected to rise by 41% over the next 10 years: the CBO projects a deficit of $6.7 trillion while the President's number is $9.5 trillion, a 41% increase or $2.7 trillion." Oops.

• There's a sovereign debt crisis unfolding as we speak with the Greek 2-year bond yield passing 20 freaking percent today.

• And true inflation -- not the bogus "CPI" number -- is running wild with oil, gold, silver, and many food commodities all spiking.

This kind of note from Krugman reminds us why he omits his most important experience from his bio: serving as economic adviser to Enron.

Chart: the Power of Drudge to Move Stock Prices?

If there's any site that personifies the power of the 'new media' it's The Drudge Report:

The Power Of A Link: How Mere Mention By Drudge Can Send A Stock Price Tumbling

Coincidence? Maybe. But there’s no denying the stories Matt Drudge puts on his Drudge Report get plenty of attention. For bloggers and media types, a Drudge link feels like winning the lottery–suddenly the world’s at your door, eagerly consuming your content. But what if the content in that Drudge link is bad news about your business? Well, that’s a lot of eyeballs reading something you’d rather see buried. Instead, the Drudge link can grab hold of your stock price and sink it six feet under.

Take, for instance, General Motors... Every time Drudge links to a lousy story–like the April 10 story in The Wall Street Journal about a Chevy that lost its steering wheel–the carmaker’s stock falls faster down the edge of the mountain:

So the lesson’s clear–at least for auto makers–make sure your steering wheels stay on tight, and try to get ignored by The Drudge Report.

Uhm, dude. A better approach: try making cars that people want to buy and you won't have to fear publicity.

Quick! Read This Before Reuters "Corrects" It! [Dan from New York]

Dan from New York:

This story is notable only because Reuters and most other Western media set such a low standard for honesty in their reporting of news about Israel and the Middle East. One sentence in particular stands out:

Hamas, whose diehard hostility to Israel has deepened the isolation and poverty of Gaza, home to 1.5 million Palestinians.

Strange, but that is where they normally slug in the boilerplate:

Israeli hostility has deepened the isolation and poverty of Gaza, home to 1.5 million Palestinians.

The story also hints at the disquieting possibility of an even more radical group than Hamas gaining strength in Gaza. Left to our imagination, though, is how that development means yet another nail in the coffin of the "peace process."

Anyhow, I suggest you read this story now, before Reuter’s London editors realize their mistakes and get back on message.

Al Qaeda Sympathizers Kill Abducted Italian Activist

GAZA (Reuters) – Hamas found the body on Friday of a pro-Palestinian Italian activist who was killed by al Qaeda sympathizers in the Gaza Strip, raising questions about the Islamist group's control over the beleaguered enclave.

...A Jihadist Salafi group in Gaza aligned with al Qaeda had threatened on Thursday to execute Arrigoni unless their leader, detained by Hamas last month, was freed... It was an unprecedented challenge for Hamas, whose diehard hostility to Israel has deepened the isolation and poverty of Gaza, home to 1.5 million Palestinians.

..."Gaza is safe and I want to assure all visitors to Gaza that they are safe and secure," Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas prime minister, told a French journalist... But the Salafi group has already threatened more violence.

...[Some] fear that radicals who want Gaza to be an Islamic theocracy are bold enough to challenge Hamas over what they consider its lack of religious fervour.

... "The forces moved quickly and wisely to the place but found that the abducted man was killed hours earlier in an ugly manner," Ghssain said. [Ed: “ugly manner” = they cut his head off in the usual way.]

I presume the Al Qaeda-slash-Hamas-slash-Fatah-slash-Islamic Jihad terrorists were only angry because of the Italian occupation of Palestine.

You say that it's not an Italian occupation of Palestine?

Never mind.

Style Note to A.P.: It's Not 'Tea Party Purists' -- It's 'Constitutional Conservatives'

See if you can detect the spin.

Talks are intensifying on Capitol Hill on reaching a deal on long-overdue legislation to finance the government through the end of September -- and avoid a government shutdown...

..."There's no reason why we should not get an agreement," Obama said. "We have now matched the number that the speaker originally sought. The only question is whether politics or ideology are going to get in the way of preventing a government shutdown."...

This time, it's Obama who is exuding confidence as Boehner seems hemmed in by his hard-charging class of 87 freshmen, many of whom won office with backing from tea party purists.

"Tea party purists"?

Really? So you're a purist if you demand the government stays solvent for our children and grandchildren? That it pares back the trillions in debt rung up over the last three years, which every expert -- including Obama's own deficit commission -- calls 'unsustainable' and 'catastrophic'?

Folks, this is why the AP's "news reporting" is useful only as comic relief.

Write Your Own Laurence Tribe Op-Ed -- How the Constitution Empowers the Federal Government To Do Anything It Wants!

It's fun for the whole family! Simply choose the right words to build your own, bonafide Laurence Tribe op-ed -- just like the famous, left-wing Harvard Law Professor. Within moments you'll be well on your way to an op-ed in The New York Times or even a coveted slot in the DNC's other newsletter, The Washington Post!

THE lawsuits challenging the individual mandate in the HEALTH CARE LAW MANDATORY HOUSING FOR ALL LAW HEALTHY FOOD LAW CLOTHING LAW, including one in which a federal district judge last week called the law unconstitutional, will ultimately be resolved by the Supreme Court.

Since the New Deal, the court has consistently held that Congress has broad constitutional power to regulate interstate commerce. By that standard, this law’s constitutionality is open and shut. Does anyone doubt that the immense HEALTH CARE HOUSING FOOD CLOTHING industry is an interstate market that Congress has the power to regulate?

Many new provisions in the law, like FORCING INSURERS TO COVER PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS FORCING BUILDERS TO PROVIDE HOUSING FOR ALL FORCING GROCERY STORES TO PROVIDE FREE FOOD FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT FORCING WAL-MART TO COVER BASIC CLOTHING NEEDS FOR ALL AMERICANS are also undeniably permissible.

After all, no one can really choose to opt out of the HEALTH CARE HOUSING FOOD CLOTHING market. All must participate, sooner or later. For the system to work, all individuals must participate to the extent of their economic ability.

In this regard, the new law is little different from Social Security. The court unanimously recognized in 1982 that it would be “difficult, if not impossible” to maintain the financial soundness of a Social Security system from which people could opt out. The same analysis holds here: by restricting certain economic choices of individuals, we ensure the vitality of a regulatory regime clearly within Congress’s power to establish.

The decision about how to pay for HEALTH CARE HOUSING FOOD CLOTHING is a quintessentially commercial choice in itself, not merely a decision that might have economic consequences.

There is every reason to believe that a strong, nonpartisan majority of justices will do their constitutional duty, set aside how they might have voted had they been members of Congress and treat this constitutional challenge for what it is — a political objection in legal garb.

For it is clear that the founders intended the federal government to do whatever it wishes with the lives of its citizens.

Laurence H. Tribe, a professor at Harvard Law School, is the author of "It's Living and Breathing, Bitches" and "Barack Obama, President of the World!"

Vanity Fair's Joseph Stiglitz: Schmuck With a Pen

Joseph Stiglitz, writing at the execrable Vanity Fair (I read it so you don't have to!), regurgitates the old, tired Marxist script in his latest piece of agitprop entitled "Of the 1%, by the 1%, for the 1%."

The corporate executives who helped bring on the recession of the past three years—whose contribution to our society, and to their own companies, has been massively negative—went on to receive large bonuses...

And what of the corrupt politicians and judges, Stiglitz, who violated their oaths of office to create and then rob HUD, Social Security, Fannie Mae, Medicare, Freddie Mac and Medicaid?

Who took sweetheart loans from Countrywide?

Who paid themselves immense bonuses while concealing their own accounting skulduggery?

And, all the while, facilitated the financial crisis through unlawful, unconstitutional governmental policies that had the force of law?

...Some people look at income inequality and shrug their shoulders. So what if this person gains and that person loses? What matters, they argue, is not how the pie is divided but the size of the pie. That argument is fundamentally wrong.

Oh, bullcrap, you fraudulent old Trotsky-ite. Sure, we need less folks like Larry Page and Bill Gates. Hell, Page and Sergey Brin were sitting in a damn dorm room 12 years ago trying to figure out a better way to search the Internet. Now they're worth tens of billions apiece! But in your formulation, that sucks!

Directly and indirectly, they've created hundreds of thousands of jobs, a whole new ecosphere for Silicon Valley, funded dozens of new startups, created massive amounts of wealth around the globe, but in the Stiglitz formula -- they're too rich!

...growing inequality is the flip side of something else: shrinking opportunity.

Yes - more billionaires like Gates, more massive job creators like Page and Brin, more investments, more startups, more innovation... means less opportunity.

What I want to know, Stiglitz, is this: how do you have a freaking job?

...perhaps most important, a modern economy requires “collective action”—it needs government to invest in infrastructure, education, and technology.

Oh, you mean like a "Stimulus" program? How's that working out for ya', Sparky? Or the Department of Education? Working out swimmingly for low-income students? And that solar technology in which Jimmy Carter sunk billions of taxpayer dollars... that revolutionized our energy infrastructure, right?

What a kook.

We've bankrupted the Treasury with this collectivist excrement -- and it's failed like it's failed every other time in history. Central planning works -- if you're a delusional Marxist with a penchant for magic mushrooms. If you're not, the Politburo-style, command-and-control strategy has a perfect track record. Zero-for-Eternity.

Stop with the failed Marxist class warfare rhetoric already. You sound like a freaking idiot.

To paraphrase Milton Friedman: who are these angels on Earth that can redistribute everyone's wealth? Barack Obama? Nancy Pelosi? Barney Freaking Frank?

There isn't a corporation on Earth that can force you to pay it whether you want to or not.

There isn't a corporation on the planet that can throw you in jail for failure to adhere to its hundreds of thousands of pages of laws, regulations and dictates.

There isn't a corporation anywhere that can make you buy a one-size-fits-all health care plan, or a certain kind of light bulb, or low-flow toilet, or a certain size of car, and on and on.

There isn't a corporation anywhere that can command you -- the citizen -- to participate in multi-trillion dollar Ponzi schemes.

Only a giant, enormous, leviathan of a bankrupt federal government can do all of these things. And, then, only because a certain group of power-hungry, easily corrupted politicians, lawyers and judges have ignored our highest law: the Constitution.

Because they wantonly disregard thousands of years of human experience, facts, logic, and reason.

Our Framers created the Constitution to prevent the rise of an all-powerful, autocratic, authoritarian central government. Instead, the modern Statist -- like Stiglitz -- justifies his actions by claiming it will be different this time. If only he can have more of your money. If only he can have more power. If only.

But it wasn't the corporations that ruined the economy: it's the politicians who violate their oaths of office every day of the week. That's what the Tea Party is all about, dunce. And that's why every one concerned with the future of America should support Constitutional conservatism.

It's the only hope we have left.

Schmuck.

Oops! New Black Panther Reveals Barack Obama dined with Louis Farrakhan and received counsel from the Nation of Islam leader

Race-baiter Malik Zulu Shabazz had some harsh words for Barack Obama last week. And while conservatives have focused mainly on the New Black Panther's hateful rhetoric, I focused instead on one particular snippet of his delightful soliloquy.

Malik Zulu Shabazz, National Chairman of the New Black Panther, personal friend and admirer of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, unleashed his vitriol toward Obama, whom he lashes out at for representing “the ideology of the white man... policies of the white man..."

..."represents the CIA set-up sabotage lie on an African leader and bomb [sic] that man like he’s George Bush ... And his wife should leave the n***er tonight. She should walk out, and his beautiful daughters should walk out on this bamboozling, buck-dancing Tom...

...Oh yeah, I said it. We’ve held back on this Negro for a long time... he caved in like a punk... You should have listened to Louis Farrakhan a long time ago when you were at his table.

...But you wanted to follow the white man and the white man's time is up! ...We pray that our Gaddafi survives... we see the same thing with the white man comin' after us all the time... [Obama] wanted to be the white man's n***er...

We didn't know that Obama and Farrakhan were close enough to dine together -- perhaps more than once. And that the Nation of Islam's chief racist counseled Obama.

So Farrakhan joins the collection of skeletons in Barack's closet, a veritable Star Wars cantina of freaks, Communists and anti-American kooks. From Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Jeremiah Wright, "Father" Pfleger, Van Jones, Imam Hassan Qazwini, Susan Power, Anita Dunn and a host of other crackpots we'll likely never know about.

Now we discover that Obama received advice from the hateful nut Louis Farrakhan. Let me guess: legacy media will hush this story up too.

The Rise of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, Right on Cue [Dan from New York]

Dan from New York:

In post-revolutionary Egypt, where hope and confusion collide in the daily struggle to build a new nation, religion has emerged as a powerful political force, following an uprising that was based on secular ideals. The Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist group once banned by the state, is at the forefront, transformed into a tacit partner with the military government that many fear will thwart fundamental changes.

It is also clear that the young, educated secular activists who initially propelled the nonideological revolution are no longer the driving political force...

It’s hard to believe, but that’s a direct quote from a New York Times story, Muslim Brotherhood a Rising Force in a New Egypt. We will forgive the writer for treating this as news. After all, he only reads the New York Times.

"Media watchers said it was a 'news article' -- Reuters' term for its regular excretion of Leftist propaganda."

President Obama prefers to use the term Kinetic Military Action for War. And Man-Caused Disaster for Terrorist Attack. And, like Big Brother, certain media outlets have embraced the Statists' doublespeak. Exhibit A: Reuters, attempting to cover yesterday's horrific terror bombing in Jerusalem that killed one woman and wounded 30.

A bomb planted in a bag exploded near a bus stop in a Jewish district of Jerusalem on Wednesday, killing a woman and injuring at least 30 people, in an attack police blamed on Palestinian militants.

...Police said it was a "terrorist attack" -- Israel's term for a Palestinian strike. It was the first time Jerusalem had been hit by such a bomb since 2004.

...Over 500 Israeli civilians died in 140 Palestinian suicide bomb attacks from 2000 to 2007. More than 4,500 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in the same period. [Ed: Moral equivalence alert.]

...On Tuesday, Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip killed four Palestinian civilians, including three children playing football, and five militants, medical officials said.

...Israel launched a three-week war on the impoverished coastal enclave in 2009, killing about 1,400 Palestinians and drawing heavy international censure. Hamas, which seized control of Gaza in a 2007 coup, had mostly held fire since then.

Gaza is impoverished because it is an armed military camp at war with both Egypt and Israel. The West Bank is an armed military camp at war with both Jordan and Israel.

The barbaric assaults on Israeli civilians have been going on for decades, not because of any "peace movement", but because Hamas wants to exterminate infidels. Hell, it's in their damn charter.

A more despicable propaganda piece you'd be hard-pressed to find, which is why Reuters deserves its handle of Al Reutzeera.
