The Day Old Media Died

I'd be hard-pressed to pick an exact date, but suffice it to say that shortly after the inauguration of Barack Obama, vintage media committed suicide.

Thanks to Tom Blumer, who spotted the seminal admission in The New York Times, we have confirmation that journalism is as dead as Francisco Franco.

Put simply, the administration refuses to allow old media to report on any White House discussions without quote approval. And these former journalists go along to get along, compromising their principles and ethics to stay in good graces with this ludicrous regime.

• "[T]he (Obama campaign’s) press office has veto power over what statements can be quoted and attributed by name.”

• “Quote approval is standard practice for the Obama campaign, used by many top strategists and almost all midlevel aides in Chicago and at the White House.”

• “From Capitol Hill to the Treasury Department, interviews granted only with quote approval have become the default position.”

• “It was difficult to find a news outlet that had not agreed to quote approval, albeit reluctantly.” Ratner believes that the Associated Press and McClatchy are exceptions; I’m less than convinced.

• “Many journalists spoke about the editing only if granted anonymity, an irony that did not escape them.”

Blumer predicts, however, that vintage media could make a comeback someday.

If the Times, with what remaining power and influence it has, began to document and report every instance where a sycophantic administration flunky demanded quote approval and it firmly refused, I’ll bet things would change — and quickly. But either [they don't] have the stones to try, or for the time being would prefer not to.

Perhaps the day [those] in this sadly compromised calling will find the nerve to be journalists again will arrive on about January 21, 2013 — but only if someone other than Barack Obama begins to occupy the White House.

It's worth repeating early and often. This administration is as lawless as any in U.S. history. From shipping assault weapons to Mexican drug cartels; to declaring the Senate in recess when it clearly was not; to bribing Senators to pass Obamacare; to failing to prosecute a single Wall Street executive related to the financial crash, co-mingling of client funds or outright fraud; to publishing "enemies lists" of those who dare to contribute to their opponents' campaigns; to actively promoting vote fraud; to ordering the "DREAM Act" by executive fiat, when it couldn't pass Congress; to disabling credit-card security in order to accept illegal campaign contributions; and the list goes on and on and on.

There's not much in the Constitution this administration likes, and the First Amendment -- whether through its attack on the Catholic Church or its virulent hatred of free speech -- is a primary target.

The Top 150 Conservative Websites - July 2012 [Updated]

Update: A prior version of this table had some incorrect traffic values and has since been updated.

Here are the latest rankings of conservative news and opinion sites, which are ranked based upon Alexa traffic rankings. Yes, some of these are middle-of-the-road or moderate sites, but they are included because they do publish conservative opinion pieces on a regular basis.

The Geniuses Who Think They Can Ban Evil

No sooner had word of the diabolically evil massacre in Aurora reached the airwaves than liberals began to exploit it politically. Waiting not even a day for the families to grieve, the likes of The Chicago Sun-Times, The New York Daily News, The New York Times, mayor Michael Bloomberg and the philandering race-baiter Jesse Jackson leapt into action.

Their mission: to politicize the debate and gain some purchase for their long-discredited argument that preventing the law-abiding from defending themselves with firearms would prevent gun violence.

But consider the irony of residents of New York City and Chicago issuing screeds for more gun control. Both cities enforce draconian (and unconstitutional) bans on the right to keep and bear arms. And both cities are awash in gun violence, despite their myriad gun control measures:

Every week in Chicago, criminals kill, maim and wound the guilty and innocent alike. Last month, over a single weekend, 8 were shot to death and more than 40 wounded.

New York City is likewise awash in "illegal" guns as criminals have no problem acquiring them; this July has seen a 28% rise in city shootings since last year.

And for those liberals who believe that it is only the fact that neighboring areas -- with more lax gun control policies -- are responsible, consider the following attacks:

In Norway, a neo-Nazi slaughtered 92 innocents; Norway is a country that effectively bans guns (as do its neighbors);

• One victim of the Aurora attack, Jessica Ghawi, had narrowly survived a mass shooting in a Canadian mall in which two died and seven others were wounded. Canada greatly restricts access to firearms and, to the best of my knowledge, Eric Holder has not yet attempted to smuggle heavy weapons into that country.

Can you ban guns? Of course not: firearms and gunpowder have been manufactured for centuries and any half-decent machine shop could manufacture semi- or fully-automatic weapons.

Can you ban mass-murder? Of course not: the Aurora murderer -- who I refuse to name -- could have detonated a gasoline bomb in the crowded theater. Islamist terrorists manufacture suicide belts and recommend driving cars into crowds.

Can you ban evil? Of course not.

Cinemark Theaters, in fact, bans guns -- which is one reason why no member of the audience could open fire on the mass murderer.

But in the liberal's Utopian worldview, evil can somehow be stopped. If only society's elite -- the master-planners -- can be given enough control over human activity, they could construct a perfect government and prevent all violence. Notice, however, that society's elite are always protected by arms.

To prevent all violence requires, of course, complete control by the elites over the masses. Which is why North Korea is completely free of gun violence (at least, among the citizenry).

In the book More Guns, Less Crime, economist John Lott conducted the largest statistical analysis of the impact of firearms on safety ever performed in the United States.

He found that the gun control advocates -- who had always predicted that concealed carry permits would result in the streets running red with blood, shootouts in parking lots, and the like -- were completely and utterly wrong. To his great surprise, he found that the more weapons possessed by the law-abiding, the safer society becomes as a whole.

In fact, history has proven that the reverse is true: disarming a population is frequently the precursor to genocide. It occurred in the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany and Cambodia under the Maoist Pol Pot. Millions paid the ultimate price for giving up their firearms -- and their God-given right to protect themselves.

As usual, the idiots in the press -- as well as their Statist sycophants like Bloomberg and Jackson -- must ignore all of history. They must ignore facts, logic and reason to claim that they can ban evil and order society to suppress evildoers -- if only they can be granted total control over you and your God-given right to defend yourself.

Spotted at The Big Picture:

I have no idea what to make of this chart, other than the appearance that electronic commerce is powered -- in large part -- by conservatives.

My Sincere and Heartfelt Apology to ABC's Brian Ross

An earlier Doug Ross @ Journal article referred to ABC News correspondent Brian Ross as the Westonville man by the same name arrested today and accused of: operation of a rolling methamphetamine lab; lighting kittens on fire; trafficking in child pornography; using a rusty axe to amputate the pinkies of debtors; performing necrophilia with roadkill; pushing a nun in front of the E train; arranging and betting on dog fights; gross abuse of squirrels; decapitation of baby seals during devil worship; and placement of non-recyclable material in the recycle-only container.

My bad.

Great news: Google targeting gangs, jihadists, militants and... wait for it... "right-wing extremists"

Because the Tea Party is so violent compared to, say, the Occupy movement, right?

Violent illicit networks represent a trillion-dollar problem that affects every society in the world and claims hundreds of thousands of lives each year. For example, more than 50,000 people have died in the past five years as a result of the ongoing war in Mexico between rival drug cartels...

We think Google can help [combat these networks]. Eighteen months ago we launched Google Ideas with the belief that Google is in the unique position to explore the role that technology can play in tackling some of the toughest human challenges in the world. Our first area of focus was counter-radicalization; last year we convened the Summit Against Violent Extremism with former gang members, right-wing extremists, jihadists and militants as well as survivors of violent extremism. Among the many outcomes of the summit was a platform that we established as a one-stop shop for tackling violent extremism through formers and survivors.

Curious how the term Left-Wing Extremists couldn't make Google's short list, eh? At last check, the far left Occupy movement has been responsible for:

• 6,800 arrests

• $12 million in property damage

• 500 thefts and/or robberies

• more than a dozen rapes

• and three murders and a dozen deaths

I wonder how many crimes the Tea Party and other Constitutional Conservatives -- people who believe in America's founding principles -- have been responsible for?

USA Today disgraces itself again: praises China's "green cities" in the midst of an environmental nightmare

The praise for the People's Republic of China isn't just coming from the likes of Barack Obama and Thomas Friedman, both of whom pine for a simpler, more -- eh -- totalitarian form of government.

The PRC party line is also gleefully recited by the hacks at USA Today, who claim that "China builds [the] most ecologically friendly cities."

Designed to be low-carbon and energy-saving, China is building more eco-cities, as they are known, than any other country, according to a survey by the University of Westminster in London. The United States ranked second.

One of the biggest will be Tianjin Eco-City, a joint development between the Chinese and Singaporean governments that will cover almost 11 square miles of wasteland and salt pans near Tianjin, a major port city east of Beijing. More than 1,000 people will move in this year, joining 100 residents. The target is 350,000 residents by 2025, says Liu Wenchuang, a senior construction official.

China's buyers don't appear motivated by environmentalism, real estate professionals say. Saving money and preserving their health look to be the big selling points.

Pity USA Today is only in the business of reformatting PRC press releases and can't concentrate on the real environmental issues in Red China. As CBS News reports, 16 of the 20 most polluted cities on the planet are in China.

Here's a taste, if you can stomach it.

Hebei Province Shexian Tianjin Iron and steel plant (河北省涉县天津钢铁厂) is a heavily polluting company. Company scale is still growing, seriously affecting the lives of local residents.

Guiyu, Guangdong province, (广东省贵屿镇) rivers and reservoirs have been contaminated, the villager is washing in a seriously polluted pond.

In the Yellow Sea coastline, countless sewage pipes buried in the beach and even extending into the deep sea.

In Inner Mongolia there were 2 “black dragons” from the Lasengmiao Power Plant (内蒙古拉僧庙发电厂) covering the nearby villages.

Large amount of the industrial wastewater flowed to Yellow River from Inner Mongolia Lasengmiao Industrial District (内蒙古拉僧庙工业园区) every day.

Longmen town in Hanchen city, Shaanxi Province (陕西省韩城市龙门镇) has large-scaled industrial development. Environment is very seriously polluted there.

There are over 100 chemical plants in Jiangsu province coastal industry district. (江苏滨海头罾沿海化工园区) Some of them discharge wastewater into the ocean; some heavily contaminated sewage is stored in 5 “Sewage Temporary Pools”. During the 2 high tides in every month, the sewage then gets discharged into the ocean with the tides...

The remainder of the photos are quite graphic. Only click through if you have a strong stomach.

The only newsworthy stories about China and the environment are the humanitarian catastrophes unfolding as we speak. Which USA Today banefully ignores.

Bain: Has Milhaus Hit The Bottom of the Barrel Already?

Dan from New York:

Obama’s pitiful Bain gambit reeks of desperation, and it’s only July. Is it possible the Attack Dog-in-Chief can sink even lower in the slime, or has he already reached bottom and left it in the gym? In due course, I’m sure we’re going to find out. Hey, and whatever happened to Hope and Change?

CNN: OBAMA'S BAIN PUSH 'DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE TRUE'

Yesterday, based on proven falsehoods, the Obama campaign floated the idea that Mitt Romney might be a "felon."

That is appalling behavior coming from a sitting United States President and, had Romney done the same to Obama, the media would've created a perfect storm demanding he either back it up or walk it back -- and rightfully so.

Obama's entire Bain spree has been nothing but lies and irresponsible, outrageous charges. Negative campaigning is one thing; lying and hurling words like "felony" is something completely different. That the media will not hold Obama accountable for this reprehensible behavior is as much a black mark on them as it is on Obama.

Dude. The media is dead.

And speaking of organized crime: The Top Ten Felons, Fugitives and Miscreants in Obama's Life.

Headline o' the Month

Navin alerts us to this hilarious headline:

And he adds:

So let me see if I understand the liberal logic.

If you are a white candidate for president and don't show up at the NAACP meeting, it is because you are a racist.

If you show up at the NAACP meeting and get booed for some reason, you are a racist.

So, the only way for a white candidate for president not to be a racist is to show up at an NAACP meeting, refuse to speak, and hand out $100 bills, otherwise risk being booed and therefore a de facto finding that you are a racist.

Why doesn't the liberal media just stipulate that all white Republicans are racist? Or would that be racist?

Don't worry, Navin: vintage media is today operating under the same business model that door-to-door encyclopedia salesmen employed in 1995.

Update: Ricochet:

So, to recap: Mitt Romney wanted to get booed by the NAACP so that he could prove himself to a bunch of racists, so he flew in his own black people to show their support by heckling him, which both proved that he was both loved and unloved by African Americans and yet, somehow, this was designed to prove that he hates minorities.

OUTRAGE: Eric Holder disarmed Brian Terry while arming his killers

Just when you thought Operation Fast and Furious -- and its cover-up -- couldn't get any worse, another layer of the onion gets unpeeled.

US Border Agent Brian Terry was shooting beanbags at cartel members before they shot him dead with assault rifles. (Truth about Guns)

For the first time the Obama Administration today admitted that Brian Terry and fellow border agents were firing beanbags and not bullets during their shootout with armed cartel members... FOX News reported, via Free Republic:

For the first time, federal officials revealed Monday that murdered Border Patrol agent Brian Terry and an elite squad of federal agents first fired bean bags — not bullets — at a heavily armed drug cartel crew in the mountains south of Tucson in December 2011.

The announcement came as the Department of Justice unsealed an indictment charging five individuals allegedly involved in Terry’s death. A sixth suspect has also been charged in a related incident.

The U.S. is also offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the arrest of four outstanding suspects believed to hiding out in Mexico. The names of the four suspects were revealed, and their pictures released, to the public. Police in the US and in Mexico are cooperating and under intense pressure to find them.

[Commenter] Roark added: "Disarmed by the very bureaucrats that armed their killers."
This is the biggest political scandal in the last century. And vintage media, for the most part, refuses to report on it.

The mass murders facilitated by Eric Holder -- and the subsequent cover-up by the Obama administration and Holder -- make Watergate look like a parking violation.

Every Republican in Congress needs to demand Eric Holder's immediate resignation. Contact your Representative now and ask them whether they have done so. If not, why the hell not?

Payback's a b***h: Debbie Wasserman Schultz Called On To Release All of Her Tax Returns, Just as She Demands of Mitt

Dee Wasserman Snider is infamous for her piercing, monotone, whiny, nasal, yenta voice. Which makes her a perfect spokesman-woman-person for the Democrat National Committee. Hillary Clinton sounds like Sade in comparison.

Of late, Dee's had to memorize and repeat her latest bullet points from the Axelrod White House: namely, that Mitt Romney has to release details of his tax returns from, like, 1948 or something.

Turns out Dee hasn't exactly been one to talk: she's never released even a single one of her tax returns.

Democratic National Committee chief Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been called on to release her personal income tax returns. The request was made by her congressional opponent, Republican Karen Harrington of Florida.

“This week millions of taxpaying Americans will fulfill their requirement of filing their tax returns by paying any and all taxes due to the federal government,” Harrington’s campaign writes. “Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been asking Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney to release his 2011 tax return even after Governor Romney released his 2010 tax return.”

...There are no records of Wasserman Schultz having ever released her personal income tax returns, though, as the Harrington campaign states, members of Congress are required to disclose assets, holdings, and various other financial information.

Since we know that certain pathological behaviors are inherited -- and Debbie's parents have been involved in all sorts of legal skulduggery -- it's only fair for constituents to know what Wasserman Snider's been up to.

It's for the children, don't ya know?

It's Official: The Associated Press is a Laughingstock

The following timeline proves -- beyond a shadow of a doubt -- that the Associated Press is working hand-in-hand with the White House and serving as a full-fledged, free marketing arm of the Obama reelection campaign.

Consider the following timeline. On 3 July, Obama Svengali (which is the title he prefers, I hear) David Axelrod tweeted the first of several messages regarding Mitt Romney's (entirely legal) offshore investments.

While one would expect other Democrat mouthpieces -- such as Dee Wasserman Snider -- to parrot Axelrod, less expected is the complete sellout by an ostensibly independent press agency.

Democrats want Romney to explain offshore accounts

Mitt Romney privately raised millions of dollars from New York's elite on Sunday, as Democrats launched coordinated attacks against the likely Republican presidential nominee, intensifying calls for him to explain offshore bank accounts and release several years of tax returns...

... "He's the first and only candidate for the president of the United States with a Swiss bank account, with tax shelters, with tax avoidance schemes that involve so many foreign countries," Sen. [Little] Dick Durbin, D-Ill., said on CBS' "Face the Nation." He's one of several high-profile Democrats who spoke out on the Sunday morning news shows.

Of vastly more import for the American people are the following questions the Republicans have been asking since 2008, around which the Associated Press has been curiously silent:

Why did the Obama 2008 website accept electronic donations from foreign countries? No other campaign -- including Hillary Clinton's and John McCain's -- has ever accepted foreign donations without written evidence that the contributor is a U.S. citizen. It is virtually certain that this practice allowed Obama to launder millions in illegal foreign donations through his website.

Why did the Obama 2008 and 2012 websites both turn off all credit card security? No other campaign in history has ever disabled rudimentary credit card security checks, because such practices would permit illegal foreign contributions, over-the-limit (structured) contributions, and other criminal practices. Yes, it is virtually assured that the Obama campaigns have laundered millions in illegal contributions through these methods.

• And speaking of offshore, why did Barack Obama list his birthplace as Kenya to market his books? Was it simply to appear more exotic for prospective publishers?

• And as for foreign investments, why was the Obama campaign raising money in France last week? Are all of those contributions being vetted for legality?

And is Obama hiding his college transcripts because he used foreign-student status to gain admission to prestigious Ivy League schools even though he confessed to being a drugged-out stoner in high school?

See, Associated Democrat Press, those five offshore questions are of considerably more import than Mitt Romney's investing strategies. Romney made that money through his own hard work (as opposed to the Community Organizer-In-Chief, who has been on the public dole virtually his entire working life).

Say, ADP, I wonder why the 'Mitt Romney's Mysterious Swiss Bank Account' meme isn't getting any traction?

The Associated Press is a laughingstock. And the sooner vintage media outlets boycott it, the better chance they have of surviving the next 12 months.

Oh, my: by a mere 21 point margin, Americans of all political persuasions believe Obamacare's Individual Mandate is a... tax

Curious: I didn't read this in the local birdcage liner this morning:

For real: Keith Olbermann's High School Yearbook Page

Accompanied by the perfect quote for the failed faux journalist:

"Journalists say a thing they know isn’t true, in the hope that if they say it long enough it will be true."

That clapping sound you heard in the distance is fellow disgraced hack Dan Rather.

Funniest dis ever: Wayne Brady says Bill Maher's unwittingly bonking a woman who used to be a man, man

Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. If you've been following the BadBlue news service on Twitter, you may have noticed the following headline:

Entertainer Wayne Brady is none-too-pleased with failed comedian and talk show host Bill Maher for his various racial epithets, some of which use Brady as a foil:

In 2010, Bill Maher said he wished President Barack Obama was less like Brady and more like Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight... In response, Brady said that just because Maher likes black prostitutes, doesn’t mean he understands the black experience, adding that he wouldn’t appear on Maher’s show...

"If he once said I want to know how black Wayne Brady is — that chip on my shoulder says that rarely do you threaten a man and you should not fear anyone,” Brady said. “Now, I’m not saying I’m Billy Badass, but if Bill Maher has his perception of what’s black wrapped up, I would gladly slap the s*** out of Bill Maher in the middle of the street, and then I want to see what Bill Maher would do.”

"Now, Bill Maher would call the cops and he would have his lawyer — I’d get sued and lose my house and it’s not worth it for me,” he continued. “But the black man part of me would be so satisfied to slap the s*** out of him in front of Cocoa and Ebony and Fox, the three ladies of the night that he has hired . . . and Fancy, who also happened to be named Tyrique at one point.”

You guessed it: Tyrique, according to Nameapedia, is a boy's name. Which means Brady has stated unequivocally that Maher's unwittingly been bonking a man, man.

Fancy that, Tyrique.

And I think we've got a new nickname for our favorite hateful troll: Bill "Fancy" Maher.

Ezra Klein: victim of congenital thyroid deficiency... or poisonous, left-wing propagandist? You make the call!

A cretin is a person of limited cognitive abilities often "due to a congenital thyroid deficiency." Based upon Ezra Klein's latest embarrassing screed (doing further damage to the reputation of the already-mortally wounded Washington Post), it's apparent that Klein is either a cretin or a demented left-wing ideologue.

The reason I bring this up is because of the following headline o' the day, spotted over at Ricochet via the invaluable BadBlue.com.

Just Imagine The Mess Obama Will Inherit If He's Reelected!

When the June jobs report came out, showing 80,000 net new jobs and the unemployment rate stuck at 8.2%, Washington Post wunderkind Ezra Klein sarcastically responded:

It's times like this when I'm glad we're not employing hundreds of thousands of workers to rebuild the nation's infrastructure.

And super glad that we fired those 600,000 state and local workers. Our economy has more than enough jobs/demand as is!

Completely leaving aside the fact that Democratic legislators passed and President Obama signed a massive $800 billion spending bill meant to create those "shovel-ready jobs" (ha ha!) is the left's argument for bad numbers really  that we need a larger government? How out of touch with reality can one be?

[Another tweet] I have to share. From Frank J. Fleming:Has Obama considering solving unemployment through a not having a job tax?

You read that correctly: Ezra Klein is still yearning for even more deficit spending to fund make-work "infrastructure" jobs as our nation teeters on the edge of a fiscal abyss. Hell, everyone from former Obama adviser Peter Orszag to more sensible economists have warned we have just a couple of years left to save the country from economic disaster.

So what does Klein pine for? Borrowing trillions more from generations yet unborn -- an act of unbridled child abuse, mind you -- to spend on union-only jobs that launder money into Democrat campaign coffers.

Now, even a fifth-grade analysis of the economy would tell you that stealing money from the private -- productive -- sector and laundering it through countless layers of wasteful bureaucracy and known fraud, cronyism and payoffs -- detracts from the real economy. You know, Ezra, stealing from the country's producers, who create wealth, not steal it. Who employ people, who invest in capital equipment, who create new products and services. Who are, in effect, the opposite of government.

Year after year, Obama and his drone-like, nincompoop sycophants offer the same failed programs: spend now, pay later. These tactics will work no better in your private life than they do for government. In fact, when the government's involved, the outcome is considerably worse, because it's not their money. They spend your money like drunken GSA accountants on a taxpayer-subsidized jaunt to Vegas.

In Ezra Klein's world, full employment would be defined as half the population digging potholes in roads and the other half following close behind, filling them in. It's just embarrassing for everyone involved with this nut.

No wonder The Washington Post is headed for the dustbin of newspaper history. When cretins like Klein get a forum at your paper, you know you're toast.

Media schmucks raise specter of Romney's offshore assets, curiously miss Obama's offshore fundraisers and money-laundering website

You can see the meme bubbling up, plain as day. It starts with the likes of the ludicrous hack Taegan Goddard at the ill-named Political Wire, a more apt name for which would be DNC Wire. Goddard's article, entitled "Undisclosed Romney Investments Hint at Larger Wealth", suggests that the GOP candidate's investments may not wholly reside... in the U.S. Shocking news, to be sure.

And the propaganda continues with the useful idiots at the Associated Press, offering fealty to the Axelrod campaign with laughable work like "Assets offshore raise Romney wealth questions."

And, like the good little stooges they are, the crackpots at The Washington Post chip in with their contribution, creatively titled "Mystery Bermuda-based company and other undisclosed Romney assets hint at larger wealth."

[Romney's reports are] permitted by state and federal authorities overseeing Romney’s ethics filings, and he has never been cited for failing to disclose information about his money. But Romney’s limited disclosures deprive the public of an accurate depiction of his wealth and a clear understanding of how his assets are handled and taxed, according to experts in private equity, tax and campaign finance law.

Gee, you mean like a president who fails to reveal his Occidental, Columbia, or Harvard college transcripts; his thesis papers; his medical records; his law practice client list; his Illinois state senate schedule; etc. Gee, vintage media hacks, I would think those would be a lot bigger deal than Mitt Romney's legal investing strategies, no?

Other big stories that have -- coincidentally gone unnoticed by the DNC press release re-publishers -- include truly monumental scams, ripoffs and outright criminality on the part of the Axelrod administration:

• Speaking of offshore, anyone care to question why the Obama campaign is fundraising in Europe? I wonder how it's ensuring contributions are all from domestic sources?
• Or how about the curious case of the Obama campaign website, which has disabled all credit-card security checks? In what I'm sure is simply another coincidence, that permits above-the-limit contributions, structured contributions, foreign contributions and other plainly illegal donations.
• Or the huge money-laundering operation that allowed tens of billions of taxpayer dollars to flow to Obama campaign bundlers under the rubric of "green energy" (see: Solyndra, SunPower, Vehicle Production Group, SolarReserve, Fisker, Tesla Motors, Abound Solar, Ener1, Solar Trust, Solar One, Beacon Power, etc.)
• Or the fact that the UAW-controlled General Motors, which sends quite a lot of money into Democrat campaign coffers, is still on the hook for $35 billion to the American taxpayers

See, there is real vetting -- of the sort new media has to do -- and there's legacy media vetting, which insinuates wrongdoing for no reason other than to skew an election to a radical Leftist intent on bankrupting the country.

Fascinating Chart: Unemployment Trends, State-by-State

Courtesy of Tyler Durden, this chart from Tableau Software illustrates the history of unemployment by state since 1976...

...and specifically the difference from historical averages. What the chart shows is that as more and more people have migrated to populated coastal areas, or those areas hit hardest from the recent deleveraging mean reversion depression, it is the flyover states, typically considered the least interesting, that are actually performing by far the best, with some places like North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Vermont paradoxically having better relative employment right now than during any time in the past 40 years

Gee. I'm flabbergasted that red states are thriving while Democrat-controlled Utopias are collapsing under the weight of public sector union control, endlessly ratcheted taxes, and ever-increasing regulations.

I'll alert the media.

Oh, wait. They don't give a crap.
