RUSH: Benghazi Just Blew Up in Bob Schieffer's Face

Not that you've ever watched the show, but an octogenarian named Bob Schieffer reportedly hosts CBS News' Deface the Nation. It was on that show, and several others, that Obama apparatchik Susan Rice was trotted out to market absolute falsehoods in the immediate aftermath of the Benghazi attack.

Earlier today, Rush Limbaugh used everything but brass knuckles and two-by-fours on Schieffer and the fascist media that used Benghazi as a platform to attack Mitt Romney and protect Barack Obama.

...[An important aspect of this] particular story ... is that Greg Hicks says that he knew Susan Rice was lying when she appeared on those five talk shows, and he was not happy about it.

He knew she was lying when she said that all this happened because of this video. And the fourth point that's made, according to Greg Hicks, is that Susan Rice directly contradicted the president of the Libya who said Benghazi was a terrorist attack right before she came on, and this led Libya to delay the FBI's access to Benghazi. Do you remember we were all wondering, "Where's the FBI? Why aren't they there?" Well, the reason is the president of Libya had been embarrassed on TV. He was on CBS and he said it was a terrorist attack...

...He finishes, and Susan Rice comes out and says, "No, no, no, it wasn't a terrorist attack. It was this video guy!" The president of Libya said, "You're gonna call me out like that?" So he kept the FBI at bay and delayed their access to Benghazi, which hurt their investigation tremendously...

...For weeks after the administration continued to try to blame the video, some video that nobody had seen. The filmmaker, by the way, of that video is still in jail somewhere in California. Hillary and Obama cut public service announcement type commercials that ran on Pakistan TV, apologizing for the United States and that video, claiming that all of this protest activity had nothing to do with anything other than that video.

None of that was true. Bob Schieffer, ABC, NBC, Washington Post, New York Times, MSNBC, CNN, you name it, all ran with the video story for weeks. And now the number two man is coming forth and saying none of that is true. That's what this is all about. Bob Schieffer's got an exclusive here 'cause Hicks' testimony was leaked to them first, his upcoming testimony. So all of this that is being reported yesterday and today in the Drive-By Media was known before the election, folks, all of it was. So Obama gets reelected under false pretenses under a timeline story that's made up.

...Who was the person most attacked in the days after the Benghazi attack? Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney was the person most attacked in the media after Benghazi because he dared issue a statement after the protests in Cairo. He dared act presidential during the campaign, and the media launched into him as creating problems for America. It's not his role to speak out. It's not his responsibility. He shouldn't be doing it. He should shut up. Mitt Romney was portrayed as an absolute irresponsible idiot for jumping to conclusions...

[The key question is:] "How can we trust them to deal with anything?" This is my point. I practically beg people to understand: When looking at what the Democrat Party does, and everything they control -- the State Department this case -- everything is political. Everything is tied to an agenda. It's their agenda and their party first, and you have to look at them that way. It's not a question of trusting the State Department. How do you trust them to deal with anything? You have to learn to interpret the Democrat Party as moving their political agenda forward with every instance that happens in life.

That's a great point. If given the choice between doing what's best for the American people and advancing the progressive agenda, the typical Democrat will pretend the first option doesn't even exist.

Lee Cary emails:

Special ops halted from responding to Benghazi attacks, U.S. diplomat says

By Ernesto Londoño, Updated: Monday, May 6, 5:39 PM

...If Republicans in Congress succeed in portraying the administration’s response as feckless, the episode could dog any future political aspirations of Hillary Rodham Clinton, who was secretary of state when the attacks happened...

###

Gee, ya think maybe the WaPo cares more about protecting Hillary’s political career than the four dead guys?

These leftist media types are scum. And that means you, Londoño -- if that is your real name. You and your editor and anyone else who had a hand in crafting this "news story".

We have a dead American ambassador, three other dead security personnel, a series of lies -- including perjurious testimony to Congress by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton -- promulgated by the Obama administration, intimidation of witnesses, and a massive cover-up.

And instead of seeking to find the truth and report upon it, the fascist media is more interested in preserving Hillary's tattered legacy and advancing their progressive, Leftist agenda.

Which reminds me of this story: "Washington Post Earnings Fall 85%, Circulation Drops 7.2%."

Keep on doing what you're doing, scum. Keep on doing what you're doing.

Occupy vs. Tea Party, Round II

Just in time for the run-up to the 2014 midterms: it's Occupy vs. Tea Party, Round II.

In 2014, Americans will have felt the full effects of Obamacare. They will have seen their gun rights eroded. They will have seen Democrats leave American borders wide open, even as terrorists kill and main U.S. citizens.

2014 is coming and G-4 Productions can use your help with as little as a $1 donation to their Kickstarter project. It's designed to highlight the differences between the Hard Left Democrat Occupiers and the Constitutional Tea Party Conservatives. Please consider helping out: even a single dollar is cool!

RUH ROH: This ain't good for Senator Rubio

When you've lost the RINO establishment...

CNN observes that NRO photoshopped out some inconvenient background characters like Grover Norquist.

As for existing immigration law?

A federal law enforcement official says one of the students from Kazakhstan arrested Wednesday in the Boston Marathon bombings was allowed to return to the United States this year despite not having a valid student visa. Authorities say that after the explosions he helped remove a laptop and backpack from the bombing suspect's dormitory room before the FBI searched it.

But let's pass more laws that no one can be bothered to read!

THE MORNING MOE: MSNBC's Joe Scarborough Lectures Senator Ted Cruz About "Manners" and "Civility"

When I think 'conservative thought leader', the first name that pops into my head is the Morning Moe. Wait a second, I misspoke. That's the first name I think of when I'm constipated. You know, when I'm "leaning forward".

On Tuesday morning, Scarborough chastised Cruz for, “mocking members of his own party” surrounding the gun control debate in Congress. Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski, who are no strangers to verbally attacking Cruz, described his actions as inappropriate:

The Texas freshman broke tradition on Friday by publicly discussing what went on behind closed doors when fellow Republicans criticized him for giving Democrats ammunition to portray the GOP as obstructionists.

As the segment continued, Scarborough accused Cruz of lying about discussions between Republican Senators during closed door meetings. Cruz claimed that:

We've had probably five or six lunches with a bunch of Republican Senators standing up and looking at rand and Mike and me and yelling at us at the top of their lungs. I mean really upset… They said, listen, before you did this, the politics of it were great. The Dems were the bad guys, the Republicans were the good guys, now we all look like a bunch of squishes. Well, there is an alternative. You could just not be a bunch of squishes.

...No one on the panel seems to understand that Senator Cruz campaigned on being an anti-establishment member of the Senate, someone who asks questions and challenges the mainstream in Washington.

In other words, he's doing precisely what he said he'd do on the campaign trail. Instead of realizing that Cruz is simply voicing concerns that he promised he would focus on prior to getting elected, Scarborough and the rest of the Morning Joe crew would rather demean and mock the senator, trying to shame him into silence and badger him into being a meeker, milder freshman legislator.

Unfortunately, this will likely not be the last time Cruz is verbally abused on an MSNBC set. Over the last few months MSNBC has trashed Cruz on a number of occasions, including MSNBC's chief blowhard Chris Matthews calling him the new Joe McCarthy as well as Scarborough saying Cruz acts, “like a carnival barker” and “ignorant” on gun control legislation.

Could someone drag Chris Matthews out of the bar, wake him up, wipe the spittle off his face, and remind him that Cruz is as accomplished a Constitutional litigator as there is in the U.S.?

As for the Morning Moe: you're a low-rent pipsqueak operating on the lowest-rent cable news network in operation. Your ratings hover somewhere between weather radar and sonograms. And you deign to insult Ted Cruz?

Hey, Moe: why don't you: (a) carefully read the resume of Ted Cruz; and (b) once you've accomplished one percent as much as he has in his career, then get back to us with advice?

Now here, take some government cheese and run into the corner and stop bothering us, you pathetic, inconsequential travesty of a "man".

Take action: Support a true Constitutional Conservative - Ted Cruz.

WATCH THE LEFTIST NARRATIVE UNFOLD: Boston Marathon Bombers are the Victims, the Victims are the Perpetrators [Marcus]

Guest Post by Lloyd Marcus

Talk about Yogi Berra's famous line, “It's deja vu all over again”: have you noticed the similarity in the mainstream media's portrayal of suspected Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and that of Trayvon Martin? In both cases, the media blasted a much younger angelic photo of each young man, in essence, misrepresenting who they were at the times of their suspected crimes.

Dzhokhar received his Miranda warning and lawyered up with appointed federal public defenders. Liberals are all over the airways and the internet working to soften Dzhokhar's image, calling him a kid and a confused victim of his older brother and an unfriendly America. At the earliest, Dzhokhar's trial will be a year from now.

My concern is that by the time Dzhokhar goes on trial, the mainstream media and the left will have made his trial all about America's Islamophobia, racism and policies which have caused the world to hate us – forgetting about justice for those who lost life and limb because of the bombing.

Remember what happened in the O.J. Simpson trial? O.J.'s attorneys, praised by the left, masterfully changed the subject of his trial from being about a man almost beheading his wife and the mother of his children to being about America's history of racism against blacks. Remarkably, sympathy and justice for Nicole Brown Simpson somehow got lost in the shuffle of left-wing political narrative.

I foresee a strong possibility of a similar outrageous and tragic scenario unfolding for the victims of suspected terrorist Dzhokhar; murdered were eight-year old Martin Richards, Krystle Marie Campbell – 29, Lu Lingzi – 23, and 27 year old Officer Sean Collier who was shot in the head execution-style while sitting in his patrol car. Fourteen people lost all or part of a limb. Two hundred and fifty people were injured.

It would appear that the mainstream media are well on their way instilling the narrative that we must understand and sympathize with the 19-year-old suspected terrorist. We must not allow the victims of the Boston bombing to be relegated to background players, cast as mere collateral damage of the Left's golden opportunity to sell their narrative that America is always the “bad guy” at fault – the greatest source of evil in the world.

NO ONE TELL PAUL KRUGMAN OR HENRY BLODGET: "Spain Is Beyond Doomed"

The Keystone Keynesian Klowns are going to have a delightful time explaining the meltdown of Europe, which has only just begun.

Five years after its housing boom turned to bust, Spanish unemployment hit a record high of 27.2 percent in the first quarter of 2013. It's almost too horrible to comprehend, but 19.5 percent of the total workforce has not had a job in the past six months; 15.3 percent have not in the past year; and 9.2 percent have not in the past two years. You can see this 1930s-style catastrophe in the chart below from the National Statistics Institute.

...the real story of the Spanish depression has been the story of the indignados: the mostly young, long-term unemployed. It's a bit hard to see just how dramatic it's been in the chart above, so I converted it to a line chart below. Almost all of the increase in unemployment since 2010 has been due to the increase in long-term unemployment of two years or more...

In other words, unemployment is a trap people fall into, but can't fall out of... That is what a permanent underclass looks like.

This debt-fueled madness will, of course, end in war and misery -- as it has throughout human history.

And Paul Krugman was, you may recall, an early champion of the Euro experiment. Combined with his stint at Enron, championing the housing bubble, and endorsing Fannie Mae's subprime extravaganza, the midget propaganconomist has a track record only Jamie Gorelick could love.

STEALTH REPARATIONS: New York Times confirms Obama administration behind billions in fraudulent payments

It's not often that I'll write approvingly of an article in The New York Times, but for Sharon LaFraniere's masterful deconstruction of the Pigford Scandal, I'll make an exception.

Pigford, you may recall, was first exposed by Andrew Breitbart and because of it he was sued, dismissed and lampooned by the Democrat-Media Complex. The term vindication was invented for situations like this.

In the winter of 2010, after a decade of defending the government against bias claims by Hispanic and female farmers, Justice Department lawyers seemed to have victory within their grasp.

Ever since the Clinton administration agreed in 1999 to make $50,000 payments to thousands of black farmers, the Hispanics and women had been clamoring in courtrooms and in Congress for the same deal. They argued, as the African-Americans had, that biased federal loan officers had systematically thwarted their attempts to borrow money to farm.

But a succession of courts — and finally the Supreme Court — had rebuffed their pleas. Instead of an army of potential claimants, the government faced just 91 plaintiffs. Those cases, the government lawyers figured, could be dispatched at limited cost.

They were wrong.

On the heels of the Supreme Court’s ruling, interviews and records show, the Obama administration’s political appointees at the Justice and Agriculture Departments engineered a stunning turnabout: they committed $1.33 billion to compensate not just the 91 plaintiffs but thousands of Hispanic and female farmers who had never claimed bias in court.

The deal, several current and former government officials said, was fashioned in White House meetings despite the vehement objections — until now undisclosed — of career lawyers and agency officials who had argued that there was no credible evidence of widespread discrimination. What is more, some protested, the template for the deal — the $50,000 payouts to black farmers — had proved a magnet for fraud...

The compensation effort sprang from a desire to redress what the government and a federal judge agreed was a painful legacy of bias against African-Americans by the Agriculture Department. But an examination by The New York Times shows that it became a runaway train, driven by racial politics, pressure from influential members of Congress and law firms that stand to gain more than $130 million in fees. In the past five years, it has grown to encompass a second group of African-Americans as well as Hispanic, female and Native American farmers. In all, more than 90,000 people have filed claims. The total cost could top $4.4 billion...

...From the start, the claims process prompted allegations of widespread fraud and criticism that its very design encouraged people to lie: because relatively few records remained to verify accusations, claimants were not required to present documentary evidence that they had been unfairly treated or had even tried to farm. Agriculture Department reviewers found reams of suspicious claims, from nursery-school-age children and pockets of urban dwellers, sometimes in the same handwriting with nearly identical accounts of discrimination...

...But critics, including some of the original black plaintiffs, say that is precisely what the government did when it first agreed to compensate not only those who had proof of bias, but those who had none...

...[For example, in] 16 ZIP codes in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and North Carolina, the number of successful claimants exceeded the total number of farms operated by people of any race in 1997, the year the lawsuit was filed. Those applicants received nearly $100 million...

...Acting Associate Attorney General Tony West, who supervised the civil division and oversaw the handling of the cases, canceled an interview. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. also declined to comment...

Like Operation Fast and Furious and Benghazi, the Pigford Scandal is a hundred times worse than Watergate. It represents institutionalized corruption and theft orchestrated by the President of the United States.

It is, in effect, a form of stealth reparations executed unlawfully on the part of this administration.

Heads should roll and impeachment should be on the table. Knowing the cowardly, feckless House Republican leadership, however, it's likely all of this will be ignored because John Boner and Eric Cantor are more interested in retaining their white-knuckled grip on power than doing the right thing.

Kudos to The New York Times for covering this blatant, open ripoff of the American taxpayer.

Remember hearing that 90% of Americans want gun control? Well, those claims were pig excrement.

Economist John Lott eviscerates the propagantician known as "Lies, Damn Lies and" Nate Silver (which is the nickname he prefers, I hear):

Despite assurances by the likes of Nate Silver that these are solid polls showing "Overwhelming majorities of 80 to 90 percent of the public say they favor background checks,"

I have previously noted my skepticism of claims.  To me, it wasn't too surprising that the Senate voted down the gun control bill about 10 days ago.  My concern is that people were really just being asked about whether they wanted to keep criminals from getting guns, not about the particular legislation being voted on by the Senate.  Well, now there is another poll by the PEW Research Center that I think is much more accurate.  It asks people whether they are happy that the Senate gun control bill was stopped.  Apparently, both Republicans and Independents are generally happy that it was stopped.  My guess is that Republicans should pay a lot more attention to what Independents and Republicans wanted than Democrats who wouldn't never have voted for the Republicans anyway.  It looks to me that Republicans voted the way that there constituents wanted.  So Republicans shouldn't really care that among all voters the poll showed support of 47 to 39 percent.  They should look at the results by political affiliation.

Many, such as the New York Times, paint a picture of Senators [like Max Baucus] who both simultaneously opposed the will of 90 percent of their voters and at the same time quake in fear of the NRA... Note in Baucus' case, he is retiring and yet he still voted against the so-called "universal background check" bill.  Might [the Times'] Mr. Nocera re-examine his piece?

By the way, the Nate Silver analysis of how Senators would vote on the Manchin-Toomey bill has sone major problem, he uses a very unreliable measure of gun ownership from Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.  If you use a bad survey, you get a lot of noise and it makes it more likely that you won't get a statistically significant result.  I also like the way he runs a regression after the fact rather than predicting how people were going to vote before the Senate vote.  Letting him play around with different factors (we have no idea how many regressions that he ran before he decided to report the one that he did) makes the predictive power of that regression pretty useless.

It's back to the propaganda drawing board for you, Mr. Silver!

A single graph that depicts a society spiraling into the dustbin of history

Why work when you can just collect disability? After all, last month a record 8.9 million took advantage of impossible-to-verify "ailments" like back pain and mood disorders.

...Today, 6.5 workers are on disability for every 100 who have a job. That's double the ratio from two decades ago. The number of people on disability has climbed almost sixfold since 1970.

That influx has caused SSDI costs to climb faster than its dedicated payroll tax revenues. The program has been running a deficit since 2009, and will be insolvent by 2016, according to the program's administrators...

...Last year, the federal government paid $135 billion in disability benefits, which is more money than it devoted to food stamps and welfare combined.

And because those on disability are eligible for Medicare benefits after two years, the sharp rise in SSDI enrollment has put a huge strain on Medicare's budget, costing the program $80 billion in 2012, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

In other words, one-sixth of Medicare's budget now goes to pay benefits for working-age disabled.

Record numbers on disability, a large percentage of which are fraudulent. Record numbers on food stamps, many of those fraudulent. Record welfare payments, many of those also fraudulent. Record income tax credit fraud. In fact, government officials have documented hundreds of billions of fraudulent payments each year laced throughout the federal government's massive, unsustainable wealth redistribution programs.

One might call this the Obama-Krugman-Blodget recipe for national suicide.

But I'll be charitable and simply ask: what is this, the fourth annual "Summer of Recovery"?

Media Quiz: Possible Motives for Boston Marathon Bombing

In spite of a plethora of evidence, the kooks in media and the Obama administration -- but I repeat myself -- appear thoroughly stumped in ascertaining the motives of the Boston bombers.

For that reason, I offer the following helpful quiz for the administration and its public relations officials in antique media.

Question: What was the motive for the terror attack at the Boston Marathon?

Please select only one answer from the following choices:

Nicki Minaj not returning tweets, which indicts all of American society

Tsarnaev brothers are Yankees fans; took the term "Bronx Bombers" a little too seriously

Sick of TBS, which keeps showing the same "Master of my domain" Seinfeld rerun

Revenge for food poisoning incident at Boylston Street's Mr. Sushi

Bitterly clinging to holy book and pressure cookers

Hope to inspire Matt Damon and Ben Affleck to make the movie of the Tsarnaev Brothers' lives

Six-month trip to Russia centered around study of Rasputin's love-making techniques

That idiot Elvis impersonator stole my Ricin idea

Even Cialis ain't working

Kill infidels in the name of Jihad

LIBERALS SHOCKED, CONFUSED: Heavily-Armed Boston Bombers Didn't Have Gun Permits

Or explosives permits, for that matter.

A perplexed Associated Depress reluctantly reports:

Massachusetts police official say the brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon before having shootouts with authorities didn't have gun permits.

Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas tells The Associated Press in an interview Sunday that neither Tamerlan Tsarnaev (tsahr-NEYE'-ehv) nor his brother Dzhokhar had permission to carry firearms.

...he [also] says the 19-year-old Dzhokhar (joh-KHAR') would have been denied a permit because of his age. Only people 21 or older are allowed gun licenses in Massachusetts.

The suspects were also accused of hijacking a Mercedes on Thursday night.

Haas says the pair didn't release the driver, but he escaped when he was left alone while the two men entered a convenience store.

So let's pass some more gun control laws, right, progressive nitwits?

BREAKING: MSNBC still guardedly optimistic that bitter clingers responsible for Boston Marathon bombings

Dan Riehl catches the following interplay on MSNBC (he watches it so we don't have to):

I suppose this is all in how one looks at it, now isn’t it? One would think MSNBC would have the capability to have sifted through what are a growing number of facts pointing out the suspects’ links to Islam – and even certain radical elements.

Maybe they need to hire more bloggers, not that we’re perfect, by any means? But at least we are looking at it, as opposed to perhaps turning a blind eye.

“Let me stop you there,” Todd said. “We don’t know for sure this is one of his Amazon wish lists?”

“I want to stress, we don’t know for sure, but it is certainly hist name….” Kohlmann said, before being interrupted by Todd.

“I’ve got to stop you there,” Todd said. “Our folks — we don’t necessarily want to put this on air yet until we verify it.”

Kohlmann said he understood, then started speculating on possible links between the suspects and Al Qaeda or other organized terror networks on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, which, he said, have been known to use Chechens or individuals who look like Chechens.

One of those groups is known as the Islamic Jihad Union,” Kohlmann said.

In the studio, off camera, a voice could be heard saying, “Oh my god.”

Todd finally cut in again: “I didn’t mean to cut you off, but we don’t want to draw so many conclusions,” he said. “But your point is that this is the type of string that the intelligence community is going to start pulling at — is that right.”

The new MSNBC logo, above, was contributed by The Looking Spoon, "in response to their eagerness to blame 'right-wing terrorists' in Boston and hesitance to talk about the (suspected) bombers Islamist beliefs."

Historian Tim Stanley: President Obama a petulant, lame duck whiner

At London's Telegraph, historian Tim Stanley puts #44 in perspective.

Barack Obama is a lame duck president. Nobody listens to what he says anymore, nobody is interested in winning his approval and nobody much cares if he thinks they have “let the country down”.

This is typical for a second-term president who has lost all their leverage because they’re no longer running for office and everybody is patiently waiting for the day when he quits the White House.

But Obama's difficult personality has doubled the size of the challenge. Gloating in victory, adolescent in defeat – the Prez doesn’t make it easy to work with him. Why should conservative senators give him a legislative victory after he has spent four years painting them as knuckle-dragging rednecks who hate women and the poor?

Whatever your position on gun control, yesterday’s events are a damning indictment of Obama’s presidency – a flash of style, lots of soaring rhetoric and, when the votes are actually counted, little show for any of it. America has four more years of this lame-duck president telling them that it has let him down. If only he could tear up the Constitution and rule by diktat he might save himself a little disappointment. Alas, American democracy is a stickler for rules.

The demagoguery has reached such a crescendo that even The Stuffington Roast offered a take on the speech "the deranged sorority emailer" would write for Obama on gun control.

Nostradumbass: Paul Krugman on the Euro

But first, a little context-setting: Walter Russell Mead describes the current reality in Europe as the dream of a single currency unravels at an ever-increasing pace:

...For the eurozone to survive as it now stands, house prices, wages, the cost of meals in restaurants, groceries, and so on would all have to fall by as much as 50 percent in the periphery. That can’t happen without massive losses to banks, which have lent money based on current price levels. These loans cannot be repaid if prices fall that far. And this kind of price adjustment also means massive unemployment, probably dragging on for many years...

...this situation means that Europe’s single currency has in effect already failed. €300,000 in Germany is not the same as €300,000 in Italy or Spain, and there is no way to equalize values without years of wretched and ruinous pain.

There are lots of consequences, but the one that may cause the most trouble fastest has to do with banking. If a Spanish euro is really worth much less than a German euro, sooner or later bank deposits in Spain are going to be worth less than bank deposits in Germany. Intelligent people will realize this and start moving their bank deposits out of Spanish banks and into German or even non-eurozone banks; those who fail to do this stand to lose a lot of money when the system finally snaps...

And now is the time when we juxtapose! Mr. Peabody, set the Wayback Machine to January 7, 2002 and turn the channel to The Nightly Business Report, where The New York Times' Paul F. Krugman offered the following commentary:

So now Europe has a single currency. Should Americans care? At first, the euro won't make much of a difference to you and me. Vacations in Europe will be a bit easier to arrange, but they will also be a bit more expensive because the arrival of euro notes will give the currency a boost.

It will take years, maybe decades, before the impact of the euro really hits home. But then it will rock your world. The euro, you see, isn't mainly about economics...

For Europe's economy is as big as America's; Europe's technological sophistication is a match for our own; Europe's population is by and large better-educated. What that means is that soon, for the first time since World War II, we will face a political and economic equal - not an enemy, but another power that offers an alternative model of how a modern society can and should be run.

Europe shares many of our values, including a deep commitment to democracy. But it also disagrees with us about some things, including the appropriate level of taxes and social benefits. Until now, we haven't had to take those differences seriously; we were a superpower and they weren't. Now that may change, and I think that's all to the good. I love big, multicultural democracies; I love them so much I want to see two of them, so we can learn from each other. Viva la difference! I'm Paul Krugman.

But not to worry, gentle readers. Despite his train-wreck of a record -- including Enron and the "Housing Bubble", to name but a few -- Krugman can predict with absolute certainty the inconsequential ramifications of massive sovereign deficits as well as the dire environmental catastrophe that awaits us because of... Carbon Dioxide.

At least that's what passes for the intelligentsia on the Left would have you believe.

BOSTON TERROR AFTERMATH: CBS News joins New York Post in reporting that a "Saudi National" is in Custody

Via Dan Riehl, CBS Boston relays word that:

CBS News senior correspondent John Miller said there is “an individual in custody,” a Saudi national who was near the scene of the blast.

Miller said a civilian claims the person was acting suspiciously and chased him down and tackled him after the explosions.

The man is said to be cooperating with investigators and denies any involvement.

While unconfirmed by authorities, this jibes with an earlier report by The New York Post:

Investigators have a suspect — a Saudi Arabian national — in the horrific Boston Marathon bombings, The Post has learned.

Law enforcement sources said the 20-year-old suspect was under guard at an undisclosed Boston hospital.

Fox News reported that the suspect suffered severe burns.

It was not immediately clear why the man was hospitalized and whether he was injured in the attack or in his apprehension.

The man was caught less than two hours after the 2:50 p.m. bombing on the finish line of the race, in the heart of Boston...

In addition, Boston police have surveillance video of someone bringing multiple backpacks to the blast site, according to CBS News.

To be clear, this is preliminary information. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by this terrorist attack.

E.J. DIONNE: Apologist for Criminals, Propagandist for Statism

E.J. Dionne, the least well-known (and reportedly, the least well-liked) of the Washington Post's bevy of Statist writers, is both a big government propagandist and an enabler of criminals. Both assertions can be conclusively proven by analyzing his most recent editorial ("The end of majority rule?"), which seeks to twist the language to promote his radicalized positions.

The language the Statist uses is critical. And when it is employed dishonestly and when it is perverted, as Dionne does more often than Michael Moore super-sizes his order, we must deconstruct it and reject it like an Olajuwon blocked shot.

Such is the case here, where Dionne seeks to portray law-abiding citizens as criminals and extremists.

Universal background checks are supported by 91 percent of Americans. Yet there is enormous resistance in Congress to passing a strong bill to keep arms out of the wrong hands. What does “rule of the people” mean if a 9-to-1 issue is having so much trouble gaining traction?

Here, Dionne's intentionally shallow analysis overlooks the question asked of Americans. There is a big difference between "Do you favor closing the 'gun-show loophole'? versus "Do you favor universal gun registration, which historically has led to gun confiscation?"

The former, of course, is a straw-man. The latter is what Democrats intend, as seen this month in New York.

That said, it's irrelevant. Dionne is arguing for Congressional criminality, because the Second Amendment isn't up for a vote.

Further, Dionne uses the same bogus poll question approach to claim Americans don't care about the crushing debt this government is incurring.

...consider the Morning Joe/Marist poll last week showing 64 percent of Americans saying that job creation should be the top priority for elected officials. Only 33 percent said their focus should be on reducing the deficit.

Had the poll question been posed honestly, something along the lines of "Do you favor the collapse of Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid as their Trustees and Actuaries have warned, or do you prefer that the massive federal government bureaucracies instead tighten their belts?", what do you think the results would have been?

But the political far right is, among other things, a big business. The NRA’s chief concern is not sane public policy. Its imperative is to maintain market share within a segment of our country that views the federal government as a conspiracy against its liberties... Within this market niche, background checks are but a first step toward gun confiscation.

As I mentioned earlier, gun confiscation is precisely what is already happening in New York.

Further, the public statements of powerful Democrats like Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Rep. Jan Schakowsky (and many others) make it clear that Dionne is either ill-informed or a bald-faced liar. Given his role at the Post, one can only assume the latter.

Dionne goes on to criticize the Constitution, claiming that it gives smaller states too much power.

...our Constitution combines with the way we draw congressional districts to overrepresent conservatives in both houses. The 100-member Senate is based on two senators per state regardless of size. This gives rural states far more power than population-based representation would. The filibuster makes matters worse. It’s theoretically possible for 41 senators representing less than 11 percent of the population to block pretty much anything.

Because Dionne and the rest of the temporary, power-hungry Beltway elites are impatient. They want "fundamental transformation" and they want it now. And the inconvenient barriers, the speed-bumps that our Framers put in place, all of these things are truly maddening for the greedy, the corrupt and their enablers like Dionne.

There is no immediate solution to the obstruction of the democratic will. But we need to acknowledge that our system is giving extremists far more influence than the voters would.

"Extremists". An "increasingly radicalized right".

Consider the hubris required to market naked agitprop in the form of these descriptions of Constitutional and Tea Party conservatives.

Those who want the federal government to live within its means, to abide by the nation's highest law, for politicians to honor the very oaths they took upon assuming office -- according to Dionne -- those citizens are the "extremists".

What would Dionne call Madison, Jefferson and Adams? What would he call Abraham Lincoln?

We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.

So far removed from Constitutional government has this federal leviathan become that Dionne can't see the very collapse he cheerleads.

The federal government is involved in every aspect of daily life -- from lightbulbs, to shower-heads, to ponds in your backyard, to gas mileage -- all of it unlawfully, according to the 10th Amendment.

The federal government is also financially imploding, printing millions of dollars an hour to sustain deficits never before seen in the history of the world.

Using standard accounting practices, the federal government is actually incurring over $6 trillion annually in new debt. This must be tacked on to the $80 trillion in existing debt and unfunded liability. Yet the entire size of the American economy, the worth of all goods and services produced, is only about $16 trillion.

The entire system, perverted by Cloward-Piven Democrats, useful idiots, and their sycophants like Dionne, is sliding into the abyss. And the people arguing for sanity are, in his estimation, "extremists".

No, Mr. Dionne: you and your Marxist ilk are the anti-Americans, the traitors and the criminals, you who are intentionally deconstructing this society.
