Who is the vile, left wing, anti-Ted Cruz smear merchant named "Patricia Murphy"?

If that is her real name, of course.

Senator Ted Cruz, one of the most popular Constitutional conservatives to appear on the scene in recent years, is the latest target of the government-media complex. The ruling class is decidedly unhappy that one of their own is -- like Reagan and Coolidge -- talking about restoring the fabric of American society and reinvigorating interest in limited government.

And therefore, just like clockwork, the enormously talented and accomplished litigator from Texas is now the target of a smear campaign not based upon facts, history or resume, but instead upon a character assassination by a single college acquaintance from his freshman year.

Leading the campaign is the usual state-run propaganda outlet -- the failed periodical once known as Newsweek and -- now operating under the alias Daily Beast. Its author, Patricia Murphy, relies upon a single character assassin (freshman roommate Craig Mazin) and a variety of anonymous sources to descend to "a new low for the genre and for modern political journalism."

And just who is the author, Patricia Murphy?

She's a denizen of the Beltway establishment, a product of the incestuous Democrat-media-federal government complex that exists to amass power and to perpetuate itself.

Patricia Murphy's resume is a disaster, befitting a failed career that leaves someone working at Newsweek. Put next to the C.V. of a man like Ted Cruz, Murphy's background is a pathetic joke.

Cruz graduated cum laude from Princeton and magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. He was the first Hispanic ever to clerk for a Chief Justice of the United States and he devised legal strategy against Al Gore's failed attacks on George Bush's 2000 election win. He served as solicitor general of Texas until 2008, and won seminal cases in front of the U.S. Supreme Court including the landmark Heller decision on the Second Amendment.

Murphy, on the other hand, works for Newsweek. She is also the founder of the esteemed Citizen Jane Politics -- a self-described "non-partisan website for women" -- that is so successful it hasn't been updated in more than eight months.

Prior to working in "journalism", she was a staffer for Sen. Max Cleland. Cleland was the very forgettable, left wing enviro-kook who in 2002 -- thankfully -- was the last Democrat Senator from Georgia after getting obliterated by Saxby Chambliss.

In other words, Murphy is one of the political cockroaches who flits from left-wing government to left-wing media.

Her latest secretion, a thinly veiled political attack on Ted Cruz, appears designed solely to secure her next position as a staffer for another far left Democrat hack.

Feel free to retweet the message: we're on to you, Patty. We know this article is just another audition for a gig back in the cushy confines of the massive, bloated federal government.

I've had it with these people. Let this be a warning to you left wing hacks: I'm going on offense. When you attack patriots like Ted Cruz, I'm coming after you, rhetorically speaking. I've had it. I'm exposing you as the failed apologists for Statism that you really are.

Combating the Left’s Information Warfare Campaign

Guest post by Abernathy Crum

This article describes an Information Warfare Operation being orchestrated by the Left.  It is characterized by well-designed themes and memes, effective delivery, and advanced with MSM propagation.

Not too confrontational, it uses fundamental American emotional buttons: family, kindness, and compassionate justice. It worms its way into the national psyche, one snippet at a time. The operation is funded, organized, and supported by the usual suspects; it’s coordinated with press organizations to carry the themes forward and propagate the message for as long as possible.

It starts with a question like this: “What are you going to do to stop the separation of families, for those of us that live in fear everyday due to unjust deportations?”

It’s a well-crafted question – a clever riposte for which we have not an effective parry.

We are at war. Our efforts just do not match the opposition. We should have had a response packet put together before the meetings took place. To know what the Left is going to do, just visit their sites and blogs. They tell us their plans, and we’re still unprepared.  We need to plan for their campaigns, collect intelligence, and anticipate the obvious.

Planning would enable this sort of exchange:

Valeria Ruiz, 17, of Racine, Wisconsin, prodded her congressman on deportations that divide families. According to the Facebook page of Voces de la Frontera, a Wisconsin anti-deportation group, she asked Paul Ryan, “What are you going to do to stop the separation of families for those of us that live in fear everyday due to unjust deportations.”

Ryan responded: “Welcome Valeria, I was looking forward to you coming this evening.  Did Voces de la Fontera or La Raza drive you? I hope your folks are well. I have one question for you.  Your parents are citizens. Your father Miguel was naturalized in 2004 and you mom has always been a citizen.  Who are you specifically referring to?  Can you define what an ‘unjust deportation’ is?”

The rank-and-file Left does not understand Operational Security.  Their leaders do, but their leaks and chest thumping on Facebook and blogs give us enormous insight. There we can learn what they plan to do before they do it.  That is called Predictive Battle-Space Awareness.  We should have been using it for a long time.

If the socialists win the next presidential election, this will no longer be a war of words.  It will be a war of survival, a war in all its manifestations. Why do you think they are building a domestic army? In a few years it will be formidable.

Robert Louis Stevenson said, "Sooner or later in life, we all sit down to a banquet of consequences." The debacle of the city of Detroit is the glaring reality of Leftist polices and the emerging consequences are writ large for the nation.
We fight or we perish, becoming a Detroit nation; lawless, corrupt and hopeless. We become helpless before tyrants who once were smiling politicians full of good will and earnest concern.  We are already a good distance down the troubled road to that outcome.

Within the Leftists’ ridicule and posturing, and behind their histrionic stage dramas and concocted causes, can be heard the rattle of chains.

Abernathy Crum is, by decades of training, experience and teaching, an expert in the strategy and tactics of information warfare deployed by tyrannical regimes throughout history.   Special thanks to Lee.

David Gregory, Organ of the State

And I do mean "organ":

NBC's David Gregory dreams of a third Obama term on Meet the Press

NBC's leftist hack David Gregory, who hosts Meet the Press over the weekend, asked his ‘panel’ with a big smile on his face ‘do American voters want to see a third Obama term or would they like to see the restoration of the Bill Clinton era?’ Gregory was smiling from ear to ear that it makes it obvious what he wants. Another term of Obama, even though Obama isn’t eligible for the third term.

"Do Americans, specifically Democratic voters, do they want to see a third Obama term or would they like to see the restoration of the Bill Clinton era?"

Gee, last time I checked, putz, Obama can't run for a third term.

What is it with this Democrat-Media Complex? Whether it's Tom Friedman pining for Red China's government, or Barack Obama's serial abrogation of the Constitution, they have a hankering for dictators.

And David Gregory -- the same jerk who should have been prosecuted for waving around an illegal 30-round magazine in the District of Columbia -- is the very worst of a very bad lot.

CNN: During Bin Laden Attack, Obama Abandoned Situation Room to Play Hours of Cards With Reggie Love

While the famous photo op depicts President Obama hunkered down in the Situation Room while SEAL Team 6 pulled off its dazzling assault on Bin Laden's Abbottabad compound, the reality was far more galling.

Via CNN, we discover that a bored President Obama and his "body man" Reggie Love were deeply engaged in hours of card-playing during the attack.

A famous photo shows President Barack Obama hunkered down in the Situation Room in May 2011 with his national security team as U.S. Navy SEALS carried out the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

But his former body man Reggie Love said in an interview posted online Wednesday that Obama also played cards to distract himself during the day-long ordeal...

...In the July 18 interview, which took place during a lunch hosted by UCLA's Luskin School of Public Affairs, Love talked about life with the president, including the historic moment more than two years ago when bin Laden was killed.

Describing it as a "very long day," Love said most people were in the Situation Room but Obama came to the private dining room to play cards with Love, White House photographer Pete Souza and staffer Marvin Nicholson.

"[President Obama] was like, 'I'm not, I'm not going to be down there, I can't watch this entire thing'," Love said. "We must have played 15 hands-15 games of Spades."

The revealing video appears to have been sufficiently damning that it has since been removed by the user who uploaded it.

Which begs the question: since the media still will not ask what the president was doing for eight hours while the Benghazi attack raged, perhaps we could ask Reggie Love.

And: what the hell is a "body man"?

CLASS ACT: This is who @BuzzFeedAndrew is

Several years ago, Daily Caller writer Jim Treacher was involved in a devastating auto accident in Washington, D.C. that left him hospitalized and in rehabilitation for years.

And several years ago, Andrew Kaczynski became a left-wing hack, writing for BuzzFeed, the terrifically mindless aggregator of hard news and funny cat videos. When called out on Twitter by Treacher for his various, laughably false defenses of Democrat politicians, Kaczynski demonstrated all of the class you've come to expect from a left-wing hack:

NEW COMIC STRIP: The Press Conference

Based on real events!

Wouldn't you love to see a real press conference? One in which all questions were asked by, say, Mark Levin? And which had a "no filibuster" rule, preventing the president's usual Castro-like responses?

Friday, August 09, 2013

President Filibuster finally holds a press conference: magnanimously entertains a grand total of 9 questions

From the official transcript:

Julie Pace of AP: Has relationship worsened with Russia because of Snowden?

Obama: 7 paragraph response.

Julie Pace of AP: Will there be punitive measures against Russia?

2 paragraph response.

Chuck Todd of NBC: Given your reforms of intelligence-gathering, is Snowden a whistle-blower? A patriot? Does he affect the Putin relationship?

12 paragraph response.

Major Garrett, who knows what network: Female Federal Reserve Chairman to break non-existent glass ceiling?

6 paragraph response.

Garrett follow-up: whatever.

1 paragraph snide response.

Carol Lee, who knows: Why should the public trust you on surveillance now that you've announced reforms?

8 paragraph response.

Carol Lee: re-asks question because of blathering non-answer.

4 paragraph response.

Jonathan Karl, ABC: If Al Qaeda is on the run, why is it kicking our asses all over the world?

6 paragraph response.

Ed Henry, Fox: Why'd you delay a key part of Obamacare unilaterally? And why haven't the Benghazi killers been apprehended, even though they've been interviewed on CNN?

Obama response: I got Bin Laden.

13 paragraph response.

Jessica Yellen, who knows: If the GOP gives you the choice of de-funding Obamacare or shutting down the government, what will you do?

Obama response: I won't discuss hypotheticals.

Scott Horseley: Why are white Republicans racists?

8 paragraph response.

### End of Press Conference ###

Gee. And no one bothered to ask what the president was doing for eight and a half hours as the Benghazi attack raged. Shocked. Shocked, I say.

BUSINESS MODEL FAIL: Crackpot newspaper that published map of law-abiding gun owners lays off 17 including moonbat editor

Guest post by Rob Morse

I’ve nothing to add except this is wonderful news. A newspaper accessed the names and addresses of registered New York gun owners through a public records request. The paper then published a map of registered gun owners who live just north of New York City.

The editors and staff were shocked by the unfavorable public response. They received angry phone calls and even face to face criticism at their office. The home addresses of the newspaper employees were published online by another group. The managers of the paper hired armed guards for physical security. The newspaper staff were openly mocked in online videos. Advertisers in the newspaper received many critical comments and the paper’s advertising revenue fell. All this happened in a suburb within commuting distance of New York. I guess you don’t have to get far from Manhattan to loose the luster of liberalism.

Now 17 newspaper employees have been laid off. Among them was the editor who published the gun owner’s information. This is the first time I’ve seen online media clearly punish a bricks and mortar media firm. This is a good start, but don’t stop. I hope the paper is driven out of business.

Can we do the same to some other papers as well?

Detroit-like Collapse Closing in on Chicago due to Math and a Shortage of Pink Ponies, But Mostly Math

"Math always trumps politics."

I can't remember who said it, but we see evidence of the ironclad truth of that statement as we review the history of humankind on Earth. Unsustainable borrowing is, of course, a doomed proposition. And whether we examine current examples like Detroit, the last century's models, or even hundreds of years of experience (PDF), we find no example -- not one -- that monstrous levels of sovereign debt can lead to anything but economic collapse.

But enough about Paul Krugman. Let's review The New York Times' latest stunned prose regarding a Democrat-controlled government's imminent collapse ("unexpectedly", of course).

Chicago Sees Pension Crisis Drawing Near

...a crushing problem lurks beneath the signs of economic recovery in Chicago: one of the most poorly funded pension systems among the nation’s major cities. Its plight threatens to upend the finances of President Obama’s hometown, now run by his former chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel...

...The pension fund for retired Chicago teachers stands at risk of collapse. The city’s four funds for other retired city workers are short by $19.5 billion. At least one of the funds is in peril of running out of money in less than a decade. And starting in 2015, the city will be required by the state to make far larger contributions to the funds, which could leave it hundreds of millions of dollars in the red — as much as it would cost to pay 4,300 police officers to patrol the streets for a year...

...And last month, Moody’s Investors Service downgraded Chicago’s rating by an unexpected three notches as part of a broad reassessment of how pensions are affecting the financial strength of cities. That “super downgrade,” in the parlance of the bond market, left Chicago, the nation’s third-largest city, with a lower rating than 90 percent of Moody’s public finance ratings...

...Illinois, which has the most underfunded state pension system in the nation, controls Chicago’s benefit and funding levels [and in] Springfield, which, like Chicago, is controlled by Democrats, leaders have clashed over how best to cut costs of the plans — a notion that pits the lawmakers against labor unions, which have traditionally been allies...

...The city’s general budget fund faces a potential shortfall of $339 million in 2014, but city officials say that gap is lower than initially expected and manageable ... Circumstances grow far more complicated a year later, when state law will require Chicago to pay significantly more — $1 billion a year — into the city’s pension funds, to make up for years of underpayments. Even sooner, the Chicago Public Schools, which draws from the same tax base, is required to find an extra $338 million for its pension fund, and more every year after that.

In other words, fasten your seat belt, we're in for a bumpy ride.

Ironically, the twisted troll known as Paul "Enron" Krugman has a featured article linked nearby headed "Republicans Against Reality". In it, he blames GOP budget hawks for their unwillingness to compromise with the greatest creators of government debt in world history -- the Democrats and, specifically, the 110th Congress. Remember, because of Democrats' failure to pass a budget since Obama took office, the original $840 billion one-time, emergency "Stimulus" has been built into the baseline budget every year since.

And as we watch Krugman's collectivist Utopias of Greece, Spain, Portugal, and Italy fall; as we watch the poisonous alliance of Democrats and public sector unions literally destroy cities like Detroit and Chicago; and as we wait for entire blue states like California and Illinois to follow; meanwhile, the real enemies of reality like Paul Krugman will be blaming Bush, Reagan, or James Monroe for the inevitable, miserable results of their deranged philosophy.

Politico's Julius Streicher whitewashes epic failure of OFA brown-shirts' pro-Obamacare rallies

Mark this story as reason #4,602 that John Boehner is a complete sellout. There is no support for Obamacare. None. Not in government. Not among unions. Not among anyone with more than two neurons to rub together. And not among the OFA brown-shirts that organized hysterically failed pro-Obamacare rallies nationwide yesterday.

At the invaluable NewsBusters site, Noel Sheppard documents the modern-day Leni Riefenstahls at work:

Sheppard attributes the change to some editor at Politico. But my guess is Valerie Jarrett or one of her henchmen threatened the WaPo for Wash-Outs with any number of punishments.

The media is running so scared now that they won't even report on their own scoops (e.g., the latest shocking Benghazi revelations which were somehow ignored at today's press conference).

As Mediaite's Noah Rothman reports, "Journalists Worry Covering The [Benghazi] Attack Threatens White House Access."

In other words: fascism, just like every other Banana Republic.

THE KRUGMAN EFFECT: Value of Boston Globe Plummets From $1 Billion to $75 Million

Liberalism isn't just a mental disorder: it's also a horrible business model.

...After purchasing the Boston Globe in 1993 for a then-record $1.1 billion, the financially troubled New York Times just announced it sold the 141 year-old paper to Boston Red Sox owner John Henry for a mere $70 million. That’s a straight 93% loss. Figuring in two decades of inflation would only make it worse — as does the fact the Times retains the Globe’s pension liabilities, estimated at over $100 million...

...In 2011, the Times turned down a $300 million offer from Aaron Kushner, CEO of Freedom Communications, Inc., publisher of the Orange County Register and other newspapers in California. This offer even included the assumption of pension liabilities, which are currently estimated at $110 million.

The Times itself reports that today’s sale to Henry does not include pension liabilities. Apparently, those remain a Times’ responsibility and expense
...

Think about this for a second.

The New York Times turned down an offer 4 times as large that included the pension costs in order to avoid selling this paper to the owners of the Orange County Register...

• Imagine a Movie section where the liberal themes of a picture were noted and tweaked while the conservative themes were highlighted and celebrated...
• Imagine a culture section where events of a conservative nature were celebrated while liberals pressed to get the press...
• Imagine reviews of plays with conservative themes getting web space and print space and liberal themes hoping for a line or two...
• Imagine stories in the Sunday section celebrating historic places, people and sites that highlight America’s conservative History or people who are conservative doing great things for the community...
• Imagine a whole slew of conservative Journalists cutting their teeth of straight news instead of news with a liberal spin, imagine the farm team it would create...
• Imagine an editorial page giving conservative opinion day after day after day...

What’s $230 million dollars and pension costs to the shareholders when it’s held up against keeping those dirty conservatives out of the neighborhood? Particularly with a tough election coming up in 2014...

Was the management of The New York Times really willing to screw its shareholders out of hundreds of millions of dollars in order to keep its ideological propaganda machine pure?

If true, shareholders should be exploring retaliatory measures.

TRAVESTY: Former Sanford police chief eviscerates the race-baiters in government and the media

PoliceOne's Karen L. Bune has an exclusive interview with former Sanford, Florida Police Chief Bill Lee and Captain Robert O’Connor. Lee describes the utter madness of the Zimmerman charges, orchestrated by the DNC-Holder-Obama-Sharpton Racial Division Complex:

Following the incident, O’Connor was placed in charge of the Zimmerman investigation. Three canvasses of the neighborhood were done the night of the shooting. A video re-enactment was done, and George Zimmerman was cooperative...

...After 48 hours of investigation, the local State’s Attorney was given a run-down of the findings. Lee and O’Connor were told by the State’s Attorney’s Office that there was no criminal case, and there was no way to prosecute. It appeared to be a clear case of self-defense.

...[But when] the dissemination of sensational information began in national media outlets, the department’s Public Information Officer (PIO) was on leave for a family medical situation... By this point, it had become a national story, with both information and misinformation about how the encounter occurred and how Trayvon died.

“The biggest travesty by the media was showing Trayvon when he was 12-13 years old,” O’Connor said. “He was a six foot, 160-pound, 17-year-old young man. Those images of young Trayvon Martin did more to incite this case than anything they would have done, and they did it masterfully.”

Politicians — both near and far — entered into the situation...

After 15 days the investigation was pulled from the Sanford Police Department. The Governor of Florida assigned the case to Angela Corey, the State’s Attorney in the 4th Judicial District in Jacksonville, Florida.

Chief Lee was relieved of his duties and was informed the community no longer had trust in him.

The co-conspirators behind this travesty include Barack Obama, NBC and its deceptive audio-tape edits, Eric Holder, Al Sharpton and the rest of the usual suspects. In a sane world, these people would be laughed off the public stage.

DREW JOHNSON: "Take your jobs plan and shove it, Mr. President"

Guest post by Drew Johnson

Chattanooga Times Free Press opinion page editor Drew Johnson was apparently fired for writing a scathing article to Barack Obama, telling him to “Take your jobs plan and shove it...” It was reportedly the paper’s most-read article ever. In honor of Johnson's willingness to Speak Truth To Power (once considered a valued trait in the days when we had a free press), we reproduce his op-ed here.

President Obama,

Welcome to Chattanooga, one of hundreds of cities throughout this great nation struggling to succeed in spite of your foolish policies that limit job creation, stifle economic growth and suffocate the entrepreneurial spirit.

Forgive us if you are not greeted with the same level of Southern hospitality that our area usually bestows on its distinguished guests. You see, we understand you are in town to share your umpteenth different job creation plan during your time in office. If it works as well as your other job creation programs, then thanks, but no thanks. We’d prefer you keep it to yourself.

That’s because your jobs creation plans so far have included a ridiculous government spending spree and punitive tax increase on job creators that were passed, as well as a minimum wage increase that, thankfully, was not. Economists — and regular folks with a basic understanding of math — understand that these are three of the most damaging policies imaginable when a country is mired in unemployment and starving for job growth.

Even though 64 percent of Chattanooga respondents said they would rather you hadn’t chosen to visit our fair city, according to a survey on the Times Free Press website, it’s probably good that you’re here. It will give you an opportunity to see the failure of your most comprehensive jobs plan to date, the disastrous stimulus scheme, up close and personal.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 helped fund the Gig to Nowhere project, a $552 million socialist-style experiment in government-owned Internet, cable and phone services orchestrated by EPB — Chattanooga’s government-owned electric monopoly.

The High Price of Ignorance

Guest post by Daniel Greenfield

It's an iron law of nature as certain as the one about an angel getting its wings every time a bell rings or a snowstorm blanketing the area every time Al Gore comes to town to remind the carbon puffing infidels about Global Warming; every time Obama gives a speech, a thousand businesses go out of business.

On July 24th, to celebrate Venezuela's Simon Bolivar Day, Obama delivered yet another economic speech in which he castigated Republicans in Congress for the sequester that he proposed, promised big economic benefits for the entire country from Green Energy and Illegal Immigration and promised to spend every one of his remaining days trying to help working people; at least those days when he isn't on the golf course, on vacation at Martha’s Vineyard or delivering useless speeches.

An Obama speech is a familiar quality that even the scribblers whose limbs once tingled at the touch of the teleprompter have developed a callous contempt for its reflexively dishonest "Let me be clears" and the infinite "I's" that roll off its assembly line speechmakers.

An economics speech, a creature that Barack Obama has been unleashing from his political zoo on the taxpayers, lawmakers and layabouts since his post-election days in 2008 of pretending to be president complete with an imaginary seal with the motto "Vero Possumus” (which can be translated very loosely as "God Help Us All"), is an entirely familiar breed.

It's an FDR-on-crack assemblage of crackpot social plans masquerading as economic plans and homey testaments to American exceptionalism wrapped around bankrupt Euro ideas about how to run a country into the ground. And in the year 2013, the whole thing smells like last year's leftovers.
