RUSH GOES BALLISTIC: Attacks on Cruz, North, West and Palin are Attacks on Me

Rush has officially drawn a line in the sand and we Constitutional conservatives, Tea Party activists, and Reagan Democrats all need to join up to support him.

...over [my] 25 years, when anybody, any conservative, Ollie North, I don't care who it is, when they've come under assault, Clarence Thomas, I don't care, whether I knew 'em or not, I ran in there and I defended 'em to the hilt because of the cause, because I knew exactly why they were being targeted. Sarah Palin. I went in there and defended these people because I know that it's an effort to undermine everything I believe. They attacked Palin, they attacked Ollie, they attacked Clarence Thomas, they're attacking us, me.

Well, it's not enough just to come here and tell you, "Oh, look what they're saying about Palin. See ya, folks, have a great day." Then tomorrow, "Oh, look what they said about Newt. See ya, folks, have a great day." Why am I doing this? And the reason I wrote this [children's] book is to try to counter what's going on. Why would you write a book on how the left has corrupted education if you didn't have some desire to fight it? And this is what has frankly stunned me ever since Barack Obama's election. I understand there's a fear of the media, and I understand there's a fear of Obama's race, but it's time to get past that. The guy's president. He's destroying the foundations of this country, as founded. He's literally setting his sights on transforming this country into something it was never founded to be.

I don't think that should happen, and I've been under the impression that everybody else that's not part of the Democrat Party has been of the same mind-set, and that's where I've been wrong. So those of us who fight back upset the applecart, are those who just want to sit there and accept it and try to manage their lives and careers in the midst of this mess because we're upsetting the applecart. So we have to then be attacked as whatever.

That's why they're going after Cruz. What are they going after Ted Cruz for? What's he done to anybody? It's Obama they ought to be going after! Why are they going after Mike Lee? That's why we defend these guys. They're out there actually trying to beat this stuff back, and they're doing it because they love the country. They're doing it because they're shocked and saddened by what they're seeing happening here, and they don't think it's time to give up.

Look how rare that is! Sarah Palin, the same thing. Look at what happens to people that do that. I mean, even Republicans go after 'em. They went after Reagan, too. It's the same thing, but Reagan was able to overcome it. It's a sad thing that there's only been one of him, but that's because they've done everything they can to revise history from that era and make people think it was the exact opposite of what it was. But, folks, the whole point of this latest book has been to join people, 'cause I know there are a lot of you.

This is the thing I know. A lot of you are fighting back, the Tea Party is. A lot of you do want to arrest this stuff and stop it and reverse it. A lot of you do want get rid of the current liberal power structure that's destroying the fabric of the country, cultural, politically, societally, economically, you name it. It's a wrecking ball that's been unleashed each and every day, and I know all of you in the Tea Party and most of you in this audience are trying to stop it.

Rush has written a children's book -- "Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans" -- that makes a great gift for the holidays. It can be used to start fighting the insane collectivist rhetoric of the Far Left Democrat Party at a very young age.

Which, all things considered, could be one of the most important things we can do.

Fundamental Transformation or... a Coup d'état?

Writing at Accuracy In Media, historian James Simpson describes what could well be the precursors for the obliteration of the American economic system.

America is being fundamentally transformed, as Obama promised. This is one promise that he clearly intends to keep, no matter how many people lose their health insurance policies, their jobs, or their productive futures.

Even the liberal media have been forced to acknowledge President Obama’s lies regarding the Affordable Care Act, especially the whopper about being able to keep your own health insurance policy.
Consider what we have learned so far as the lies are being exposed:
  • Despite repeatedly being told we could keep our healthcare plans and doctors, the White House estimated three years ago that 93 million people would lose their plans. Obama knew this and has been lying about it all along.
  • Rather than provide healthcare, the Obamacare website is being used to boost low-income Democrat voter registration. Election integrity activists have called it “The biggest voter registration fraud scheme in history.” The Soros-funded Demos has bragged that Obamacare exchanges will register “68 million people to vote.”
...For modern-day progressives, lying is not merely something one does to avoid getting caught, lying is tradecraft. Thus our President lies. But these are no ordinary lies; they are grand, sweeping, all-encompassing lies. He says exactly the opposite of truth, consistently, to confuse people, and tops it off by accusing his opponents of doing what he does...

...Prior to the latest debt limit agreement, Obama threatened to default on the federal debt—sending jitters through financial markets. It would have been the first default in history. Obama’s Treasury Department also issued a report titled, The Potential Macroeconomic Effect of Debt Ceiling Brinkmanship. But President Obama was the one engaged in “brinkmanship,” even while accusing Republicans of doing so.

To avoid default, the government needs only to pay interest, about $35 billion per month. The Treasury collects about $250 billion per month, more than enough. But Obama claimed he didn’t have the authority.
To call him on it, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 807, the Full Faith and Credit Act, making the authority explicit, but Obama promised to veto it—implicitly admitting he could avoid default if he wanted. But Obama was willing to threaten a major financial collapse to achieve short-term political objectives.
However, all we heard from the media was a non-stop barrage of angry “news” reports accusing Republicans of trying to destroy the economy...

[...Likewise, b]efore the Obamacare website rollout, the media mindlessly fawned over it. CNN’s new Crossfire co-host, former “Green Jobs Czar” Van Jones, heralded it “a huge breakthrough” for the uninsured. MSNBC’s Ed Schultz enthused that it was easy to navigate. Bloomberg’s Peter Gosselin equated it to shopping on Amazon. CBS’s Jill Schlesinger thought it was like Travelocity. ABC’s Rebecca Jarvis compared it to mall shopping.

...Considering the debacle it has become, the media should not only expose the glaring problems that continue to unfold, but also examine whether this is the result of incompetence or design.
Following the shutdown/showdown debacle, Obama gratuitously accused Republicans of a “manufactured crisis.” It is interesting that Obama accused Republicans of such a plan, given the title of a viral 2008 article, “Barack Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis.” There is such a strategy; Obama has known about it for decades and is using it now.

It was developed in the 1960s by Columbia University professors Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven, who published an article in Nation magazine titled “The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty.” By packing welfare rolls with new beneficiaries, they hoped to bankrupt local governments and foment a blazing revolution when benefits dried up. It came to be known as the “Cloward Piven Strategy,” or simply “Crisis Strategy.”

The strategy helped explode welfare rolls in the 1960s and 1970s, and precipitated New York City’s near bankruptcy in 1975. Speaking of that crisis, New York Mayor Rudolf Giuliani accused the pair of economic sabotage.

Cloward and Piven created the organizations tasked with executing this strategy, most notably ACORN. Subsequently, the strategy was applied to: 1) Housing, where the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and similar groups colluded with the Clinton White House to foment the subprime mortgage crisis that led to the 2008 crash; 2) Voting, through enactment of the 1993 National Voter Registration Act, (aka Motor Voter), again with Clinton complicity; and 3) Illegal immigration.
Cloward and Piven were the authors of Motor Voter, which turns motor vehicle and other state offices into defacto low income voter registration drives. This law allowed the nationwide explosion of voter registration fraud conducted by ACORN, and is largely responsible for today’s 24 million bad registrations nationwide. Motor Voter also made Obamacare’s online voter registration possible.

Obama has connections to Cloward and Piven, ACORN and its voter registration arm, Project Vote, going back to the early 1990s. The Holder Justice Department has been caught colluding with Project Vote in Motor Voter lawsuits. Matthew Vadum, author of the ACORN exposé, Subversion Inc, reports that former ACORN leaders are still working with Obama.

One has to consider the distinct possibility that Obamacare is part of a deliberate strategy to overwhelm the American people with crisis upon crisis until they throw up their arms in despair and give up.

...In 1932, FDR used this same kind of strategy to deliver Democrat majorities in Congress for the next 60 years. Cloward and Piven explained
Although these [New Deal] measures were a response to the imperative of economic crisis, the types of measures enacted were designed to secure [a] new Democratic coalition.
Today, close to 50 percent of Americans pay no taxes, and lower income groups can obtain government benefits that provide the equivalent of up to $50,000 per year, strongly encouraging welfare dependency.
Democrats don’t care. It was Cloward and Piven’s explicit goal to create misery and strife sufficient to trigger a blazing revolution. As they reported in their “Weight of the Poor” article:
“Moreover, this kind of mass influence is cumulative because benefits are continuous. Once eligibility for basic food and rent grants is established, the drain on local resources persists indefinitely…”
The consequences of welfare state policies are evident everywhere. Consider the following statistics:
  • More people collect means-tested benefits today (108.6 million) than there are full-time workers (101.7 million)
  • 46.5 million Americans live in poverty. This is the first time the poverty rate has remained at or above 15% three years running since 1965.
Witness the burned out, abandoned buildings staining our cities, especially Detroit. Think of the entrenched crime, drugs, prostitution, and abandoned children that are the face of inner city ghettos, and reflect on Cloward and Piven’s enthusiasm that “the drain on local resources persists indefinitely…” In Detroit, the response of the Obama administration has been to pour more federal money, an estimated $300 million, into the city, in part to demolish public housing originally constructed with federal funds, and then to construct more.

Incredibly, Bill de Blasio, poised to become New York City’s new Democratic mayor on November 5, says, “The federal government must get back in the affordable housing business, and the federal government must get back in the mass transit business and infrastructure business.”

...On top of failure after failure, this Obama-backed Democrat wants more of the same. He might as well be a spokesman for the Democratic Party as a whole. Perhaps that will be his role in the years ahead.

Obama and the Democrats are now feverishly working to inflate this roster of the needy by pushing through amnesty for illegal aliens, officially numbering 11 million, but probably more like 30 million people. Congress is currently debating this plan, with some Republicans, such as John McCain, willing to accommodate Obama’s scheme, in the name of “comprehensive immigration reform.”

...Government spending will continue to increase substantially in the coming years. This is a deliberate effort by Obama, who learned from Cloward and Piven how to collapse an economy. The strategy has moved from the local to the national. It will have global repercussions.
As they say on the real blogs, read the whole thing.

Helpful ABC News Report Depicts Simulation of LAX Shooting, Complete With Non-Existent Grenade Launcher

Well, it was "Good Morning America" we're talking about, which explains this particular story that seems aimed at folks with an IQ somewhere south of a ball-peen hammer:

ABC’s Good Morning America took a great deal of liberty with reality this morning, creating a computer animation that equipped Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) shooting suspect Paul Ciancia not with the Smith & Wesson M&P15 modern sporting rifle that he actually used, but instead with a military M16 selective-fire assault rifle and m-203 40mm grenade laucher.

It’s nice to know that a major network still retains such great creative license as part of their news programming.

I suppose we should be thankful they didn't copy the shoulder-launched Stinger Anti-Aircraft missile from Call of Duty.

NEW BOOK ON ROMNEY CAMPAIGN AND RUNNING MATE SELECTION: Chris Christie's Checkered Past "Littered With Land Mines"

A new book on the 2012 presidential campaign by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann will be released on Tuesday. In an excerpt published in Time, Romney strongly considered Chris Christie as a potential running mate. That is until the Romney team unearthed the New Jersey governor's questionable background.

In the nine months since Christie’s endorsement of Romney in October 2011, Boston had formed a mixed view of the governor who George W. Bush had once nicknamed Big Boy. Christopher James Christie, 51, was less than two years into his first term as governor of New Jersey, suave as sandpaper and morbidly obese. He was also one of the most intriguing figures in American politics. His voice was like an air horn, cutting through the clutter. There was no one better at making the referendum case against Obama, at nailing the President to the wall with ferocity and caustic humor. Christie’s temperament was ideally suited to the unfolding tenor of the race. “We’re in a street fight, and he’s a street fighter,” Romney’s chief strategist Stuart Stevens told Romney. “He’s the best street fighter—and he’s comfortable saying things that you’re not comfortable saying.”

He was also a fundraising dynamo, but he and his staff were overbearing and hard to work with, demanding in ways that would have been unthinkable from any other surrogate. Months earlier, Christie had banned Romney from raising money in New Jersey until Christie had given the O.K. to do so—a move Romney found galling, like something out of The Sopranos. Are you kidding me, Mitt thought. He’s going to do that? There were plenty of New Jersey donors who’d given money to Mitt in 2008; now Christie was trying to impose a gag order on talking to them? “He sounds like the biggest asshole in the world,” Stevens griped to his partner, Russ Shriefer. More recently, Trenton insisted on private jets, lavish spreads of food, space for a massive entourage. Romney ally Wayne Berman looked at the bubble around Christie and thought, He’s not the President of the United States, you know.

Chronically behind schedule, Christie made a habit of showing up late to Romney fundraising events. In May he was so tardy to a donor reception at the Grand Hyatt New York that Mitt wound up taking the stage to speak before Christie arrived. When the Jersey governor finally made his grand entrance, it was as if Mitt had been his warm-up act...

...The list of questions Myers and her team had for Christie was extensive and troubling. More than once, Myers reported back that Trenton’s response was, in effect, Why do we need to give you that piece of information? Myers told her team, We have to assume if they’re not answering, it’s because the answer is bad.

The vetters were stunned by the garish controversies lurking in the shadows of his record. There was a 2010 Department of Justice inspector general’s investigation of Christie’s spending patterns in his job prior to the governorship, which criticized him for being “the U.S. attorney who most often exceeded the government [travel expense] rate without adequate justification” and for offering “insufficient, inaccurate, or no justification” for stays at swank hotels like the Four Seasons. There was the fact that Christie worked as a lobbyist on behalf of the Securities Industry Association at a time when Bernie Madoff was a senior SIA official—and sought an exemption from New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act...

A Culture of Ignorance, Part One

Guest post by Jim Quinn

“Five percent of the people think;
ten percent of the people think they think;
and the other eighty-five percent would rather die than think.”

- Thomas Edison

The kabuki theater that passes for governance in Washington D.C. reveals the profound level of ignorance shrouding this Empire of Debt in its prolonged death throes. Ignorance of facts; ignorance of math; ignorance of history; ignorance of reality; and ignorance of how ignorant we’ve become as a nation, have set us up for an epic fall. It’s almost as if we relish wallowing in our ignorance like a fat lazy sow in a mud hole. The lords of the manor are able to retain their power, control and huge ill-gotten riches because the government educated serfs are too ignorant to recognize the self-evident contradictions in the propaganda they are inundated with by state controlled media on a daily basis.

“Any formal attack on ignorance is bound to fail because the masses are always ready to defend their most precious possession – their ignorance.” - Hendrik Willem van Loon

The levels of ignorance are multi-dimensional and diverse, crossing all educational, income, and professional ranks. The stench of ignorance has settled like Chinese toxic smog over our country, as various constituents have chosen comforting ignorance over disconcerting knowledge. The highly educated members, who constitute the ruling class in this country, purposefully ignore facts and truth because the retention and enhancement of their wealth and power are dependent upon them not understanding what they clearly have the knowledge to understand. The underclass wallow in their ignorance as their life choices, absence of concern for marriage or parenting, lack of interest in educating themselves, and hiding behind the cross of victimhood and blaming others for their own failings. Everyone is born ignorant and the path to awareness and knowledge is found in reading books. Rich and poor alike are free to read and educate themselves. The government, union teachers, and a village are not necessary to attain knowledge. It requires hard work and clinging to your willful ignorance to remain stupid.

The youth of the country consume themselves in techno-narcissistic triviality, barely looking up from their iGadgets long enough to make eye contact with other human beings. The toxic combination of government delivered public education, dumbed down socially engineered curriculum, taught by uninspired intellectually average union controlled teachers, to distracted, unmotivated, latchkey kids, has produced a generation of young people ignorant about history, basic mathematical concepts, and the ability or interest to read and write. They have been taught to feel rather than think critically. They have been programmed to believe rather than question and explore. Slogans and memes have replaced knowledge and understanding. They have been lured into inescapable student loan debt serfdom by the very same government that is handing them a $200 trillion entitlement bill and an economy built upon low paying service jobs that don’t require a college education, because the most highly educated members of society realized that outsourcing the higher paying production jobs to slave labor factories in Asia was great for the bottom line, their stock options and bonus pools.

Instead of being outraged and lashing out against this injustice, the medicated, daycare reared youth passively lose themselves in the inconsequentiality and shallowness of social media, reality TV, and the internet, while living in their parents’ basement. They have chosen the ignorance inflicted upon their brains by thousands of hours spent twittering, texting, facebooking, seeking out adorable cat videos on the internet, viewing racist rap singer imbeciles rent out sports stadiums to propose to vacuous big breasted sluts on reality cable TV shows, and sitting zombie-like for days with a controller in hand blowing up cities, killing whores, and murdering policemen using their new PS4 on their 65 inch HDTV, rather than gaining a true understanding of the world by reading Steinbeck, Huxley, and Orwell. Technology has reduced our ability to think and increased our ignorance.

“During my eighty-seven years, I have witnessed a whole succession of technological revolutions. But none of them has done away with the need for character in the individual or the ability to think.” - Bernard M. Baruch

The youth have one thing going for them. They are still young and can awaken from their self-imposed stupor of ignorance. There are over 80 million millenials between the ages of 8 and 30 years old who need to start questioning the paradigm they are inheriting and critically examining the mendacious actions of their elders. The future of the country is in their hands, so I hope they put down those iGadgets and open their eyes before it is too late. We need many more patriots like Edward Snowden and far fewer twerking sluts like Miley Cyrus if we are to overcome the smog of apathy and ignorance blanketing our once sentient nation.

OH, MY: The Associated Press demands editors stop printing Obama’s staged "propaganda” photos

Anyone in the White House ever heard of Leni Riefenstahl?

I thought not.

The Associated Press continues to express its utter disgust with the Obama White House. Which happens to be the first administration in American history to run its own news operation. Because **** you.

Editors of The Associated Press condemned the White House’s refusal to give photojournalists real access to President Obama, who prefers to circulate press release-style pictures taken by his own paid photographers.

These official photographs are little more than propaganda, according to AP director of photography Santiago Lyon.

The AP has only been permitted to photograph the president alone in the Oval Office on two occasions–both in his first term–and has never been allowed to photograph the president with his staff in the office...

...Previous administrations were less strict about photos, undermining Obama’s frequent claim that he strives to run “the most transparent administration” in history.

Lyon made his remarks at the AP Media Editors national conference in Indianapolis on Wednesday.

AP executive editor Kathleen Carroll echoed Lyon’s concerns.

...Carroll advised newspaper editors who were present to stop using the White House’s preferred photos in their own stories, according to Lail and other attendees.

I commend the AP, and CNN, and CBS News -- to name but a few -- that have finally decided to begin speaking truth to power.

6 MIND-BLOWING REVELATIONS: How Eric Holder and Barack Obama Perverted the 2012 Election Using the DOJ

Yet again, we have ironclad proof that the Obama administration has committed high crimes and misdemeanors that would, in a lawful society, have already resulted in impeachment. Author Peter Schweizer describes some of the more outrageous revelations in his new book Extortion:

6. THERE ARE COMPANIES BEING TOLD THEY'RE SUBJECT TO DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE INVESTIGATION, CRIMINAL AND CIVIL AND LITERALLY THOSE COMPANIES ARE SOLICITED TO DONATIONS TO THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN AND NOW TO OBAMA POLITICAL COMMITTEES AND THERE IS STATISTICAL EVIDENCE IN THE BOOK THAT LITERALLY YOU CUT YOUR CHANCES OF GOING TO JAIL IN HALF IF YOU MAKE A CONTRIBUTION.

5. AFTER THE 2010 MID-TERM ELECTIONS WHERE THEY HAD THAT STUNNING DEFEAT IN CONGRESS, [the Obama Department of Justice] TARGETED THE INDUSTRIES THAT FINANCED THE TEA PARTY CANDIDATES THAT GOT ELECTED...

4. LITERALLY DAYS AFTER PRESIDENT OBAMA MADE THAT FAMOUS STATEMENT "WE'RE GOING TO PUNISH OUR POLITICAL OPPONENTS," [the Holder DOJ] SENT OUT AN INDUSTRY SWEEP LETTER [to companies in the oil and gas sector] WHICH SAID YOU ARE SUBJECT TO CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION AND YOU BETTER SHARE AND COOPERATE... IT WAS A CLEAR INTIMIDATION TACTIC USED.

3. THE TOP [Republican] FINANCIERS IN 2012 WERE ALL SUBJECT TO DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE CRIMINAL CHARGES.

2. THE TOP FIVE POSITIONS AT DOJ BEGINNING WITH ERIC HOLDER WERE ALL CAMPAIGN BUNDLERS FOR THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN.

1. [Obama] FUND-RAISERS [were] RAISING MONEY TO PUT [Obama] INTO POWER WHO [are] NOW MAKING DECISIONS ABOUT WHO THEY'RE GOING TO PROSECUTE AND WHO THEY'RE NOT GOING TO PROSECUTE... THIS [is a] MELDING OF THE DOJ AND THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN.

You know, it's getting harder and harder to keep President Barack Obama's Complete List of Historic Firsts current. These guys seem to invent a new Executive Branch crime each and every day.

Tell you what's scarier: this is only the stuff we know about.

4 Interesting Snippets o' Wisdom Heard on Last Night's Mark Levin Show

Four minutes of Mark Levin is akin to an hour of anyone else. Some random items from last night's show, paraphrased:

1. Even the Karl Rove consultant class could have led Republicans to victory in 2012 had Obamacare's individual mandate kicked in October 1st of last year. The rollout has been such an unmitigated disaster that even Humpty Dumpty could have beaten the incumbent.

2. Yet another member of the media -- a Washington Post reporter named Laura Blumenfeld -- has joined the Obama administration. That makes "16 journalists who have officially become absorbed into the Obama administration. Countless others, such as CNN’s Candy Crowley and everyone at MSNBC, have been unofficial members."

In short, journalists now use their ostensibly unbiased, independent news reporting as auditions for a gig in Democrat politics. So much for the Fourth Estate.

3. The infernal cross-pollination of "journalists" and administration officials may explain why no one in vintage media has bothered to total up the number of Americans who have lost coverage thanks to Obamacare. In Florida alone, a single insurer is terminating 300,000 policies -- or 80 percent of its individual block of business. That's just one insurer in a single state. The total of those who have lost their health care plans must number in the tens of millions, but you wouldn't know it by reading The New York Birdcage Liner.

4. Speaking of unreported, the total number of Americans not in the labor force "has increased by 10,102,000 during Obama's presidency." While CNS News is reporting that figure, where is the rest of the media?

WHOA: Dick Durbin Calls Barack Obama a Liar

Rumor on the Hill has it that Senator "Little" Dick Durbin (D-IL) is the single most despised member of the U.S. Senate of either party. He is said to have lied repeatedly to other Senators during a variety of critical negotiations. Now he is embroiled in a tête-à-tête with the White House. It began when he alleged that an unnamed Republican insulted President Obama to his face.

Allegation:

A top Senate Democrat said that a leading House Republican told President Obama that they could not ‘even stand to look at you’ during negotiations over the government shutdown...

Denial:

...Spokesmen for both Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor say neither official said or remembers anyone else saying they couldn’t stand to look at President Obama at a White House summit during the government shutdown, as Democratic senator Dick Durbin of Illinois alleged...

Annnnd here’s the confirmation of the denial from… the White House:

JACKIE CALMES, NEW YORK TIMES: Just to follow up on that. In terms of the president talking to Republicans, can you rule out — there was the number two Senate Democrat, Dick Durbin, said on his Facebook page that someone in recent exchange with the president said he can’t even stand, this member of Congress, that he can’t even stand to look at the president. Can you say whether that happened?

JAY CARNEY: I will say this, I spoke with somebody who was in that meeting and it did not happen.

MSNBC's Chuck Todd Offers Advice to Obama Over Disastrous Healthcare.gov Rollout: FIND A SCAPEGOAT!

Last time I checked, MSNBC was getting lower ratings than the spin cycle at the local laundromat. Here's Chuck Todd, longtime apologist for the disastrous track record of Detroitocrats, offering free advice to the president.

Sunday on NBC Meet the Press, White House correspondent Chuck Todd offered his best advice for the Obama administration’s self-imposed-disaster relief team: find a fall guy.

When host David Gregory asked how the president needed to reframe the national narrative, Todd provided the tried and true “fire somebody” stratagem:

Well, there's a couple things. I think one, if all else fails, they're going to have to find a fall person, somebody, and say, "You know what? This design work.

Fire somebody. Maybe high profile."

Kathleen Sebelius is very nervous about her standing with the president. Who knows what happens? But that would be the ultimate sort of, "If all else fails, bring in somebody to quote unquote, 'Fix this.'"

Hey, Chuckie! I just thought of a potential scapegoat: It's all the fault of Ted Cruz, rogue Javascript programmer!

10 Epic Quotes About the Colossal Failure of Obamacare's Rollout

Guest post by Travis Perry and Dustin Hurst

What is Obamacare?

We already know what politicians think it could be. Republicans believe the health law will soon bring about the apocalypse. Democrats, on the other hand, think the law will bring peace to the earth and begin a utopian state of peace and tranquility for all.

For right now, though, the law — represented by the online marketplaces set up by governments across the land — is pretty terrible. Well, at least that’s what a whole bunch of pundits and news outlets are saying.

Sure, the exchanges, powered by a central operated by the federal government, might make purchasing health insurance easier someday, but first they have to, you know, work. But they don’t. One buyer in Delaware, for example, tried purchasing coverage for 11 days straight before finally succeeding.

The project cost a mere $400 million, or just another drop in the bucket for the federal government.

Here are 10 epic quotes that reveal just how bad the Obamacare rollout has been:

1. Nick Gillespie, The Daily Beast:

2. Robert Gibbs, former Obama administration spokesman:

Newsweek's David Freedlander (Who? Exactly) Has Never Heard of Mark Levin, Best-selling Author, Famed Litigator, and Top Radio Host

I daresay that anyone reading the old, failed Newsweek Magazine -- now renamed The Daily Beast -- is well aware of Mark Levin. Levin, the author of five New York Times bestsellers and the president of Landmark Legal Foundation, is heard by roughly 10 million people each week.

Yet someone named "David Freedlander" -- if that is his real name -- begins a lengthy article with the bizarre assertion that a wide swath of Democrats, liberals and other miscreants are unfamiliar with Levin. I assure you that's not the case. Entitled "Radio’s Mark Levin Might Be the Most Powerful Conservative You Never Heard Of", his amateurish "exposé" is riddled with typos, grammatical gaffes, and problematic diction:

• "...understand the issues form a different perspective..."

"Form"? Is that a new turn of phrase? Or just the hastily typed missive of a hack?

• "...He has no problem rewriting statues..."

"Statues"? Someone's rewriting statues?

• "I don’t why when..."

Eh?

• "...but are rally just leaders of their own movement..."

Rally? Really?

• "... have you ever heard of a party attacking its base."

Is that a question?

The article is flatly embarrassing, but -- frankly -- not unexpected for a magazine that was recently sold for a tidy, shiny silver dollar.

I suspect if Levin had known how pathetic Freedlander's writing skills were, he'd never have agreed to spending time discussing economics, philosophy, law and history with him.

Here's a heads up, David. The reason Levin and other conservatives have mobilized millions is because we are losing our country.

Democrats are openly calling for the arrest of their political opponents.

The administration has tripled warrantless wiretaps of U.S. citizens (according to the ACLU) and is data-mining all of the phone records of 300 million Americans.

The president lied -- repeatedly -- to the American people about the murder of a U.S. ambassador and has never revealed what actions he took when first informed of the terror attack.

The Obama White House also unquestionably used the IRS to target its political opponents prior to the 2012 reelection campaign; this was one of the proposed articles of impeachment against President Richard M. Nixon.

The president ignored the Senate's advice and consent role, becoming the first to unilaterally declare the upper chamber in recess over a long weekend to name radical leftists to the National Labor Relations Board. This lawless act was completely rejected by two separate U.S. Courts of Appeal.

The administration also was held in contempt of Congress for unlawfully hiding documents on its "gun-walking" program in which Eric Holder's Justice Department knowingly sent thousands of firearms and grenades to Mexican drug cartels. This effort was clearly intended to demonize American gun-owners and set the stage for further erosion of the Second Amendment.

The administration has become increasingly hostile to the press, targeting wide numbers of journalists at the Associated Press and even wiretapping the parents of Fox reporter James Rosen.

The White House even "developed its own network of websites, social media and even created an online newscast to dispense favorable information and images," an act unprecedented in American history and consistent with the actions of a dictatorship.

And that's just the short list. The complete list is here.

So, Davey -- can I call you, Davey? No? Too bad -- we regular Americans see that we're in the process of losing our country to fanatical, hard left progressives that are doing their level best to install what can only be called a fascist government in the United States.

This isn't the Democrat Party of JFK, a tax-cutting advocate for strong national security. The Democrat Party is now controlled by radical sixties retreads who continue expanding the welfare state even as the country runs up massive deficits. These tactics are called "Cloward-Piven Government" and are naked attempts to destroy capitalism.

The facts are unassailable.

Because he is cognizant of history, facts, logic and reason -- and Freedlander clearly is not -- Levin has attracted millions of like-minded Americans who worry about massive deficits, lawless presidents, and a Beltway elite that is more concerned with the needs of illegal aliens than their own constituents.

David Freedlander's writing appears to be consistent with the level of his intellect, which is to say: he's a drone.

THE LYING GOP ESTABLISHMENT: Gee, why do they pretend to be conservative when they're running for office?

So the meme circulating today in old media is that a small bunch of Conservative/Tea Party Republicans are disgusted with the Establishment GOP and are ready to splinter away like the fringe group of extremists they are. Yet what is never mentioned is that these old bulls -- these barnacles on the ship of state -- always pretend to be the tiny, fringe group of extremist conservatives when they're running for office.

Let's first visit with Molly Ball at The Atlantic, which is the leftist journal for leftists who love leftism:

The Conservative War on the GOP

What was once an uneasy alliance between Tea Partiers and Republican loyalists is increasingly marked by hostility—and many on the right now want a divorce.

...The recent government shutdown, and the infighting it laid bare between Republican factions, convinced many conservatives that the institutional GOP would rather sell them out than stick up for them. “There are two views on the right. One says more Republicans is better; the other says better Republicans is better,” said Dean Clancy, vice president of public policy for the Tea Party group FreedomWorks. “One view focuses on the number of Republicans in the Senate, the other on the amount of fight in the senators.”

...It will not be possible, Deace predicted, for the two factions to coexist. “This is going to end in divorce,” he said. “One side is going to win control, one side is going to lose, and the losing side will go do something else. There will not be a reunification.”

Perhaps. Perhaps not. What Ball neglects to mention is that this war has been going on since the 1970s, when Ronald Reagan was pilloried for challenging a sitting Republican President in 1976 (Gerald Ford). The GOP establishment despised Reagan and fought him tooth and nail.

What about the loony corporatists at The Wall Street Journal, who never met a big government program they didn't like? Here's Laura Meckler:

Business Voices Frustration With GOP

The budget stalemate that had the U.S. flirting with default has left business and the Republican Party, longtime political allies, at a crossroads.

...Many business executives say they were dismayed that some Republicans didn't heed their warnings that closing the government and risking default would hurt the U.S. economy...

...the conversation among businesses is "characterized by tremendous frustration and angst," said Dirk Van Dongen, president of the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors, a trade group. "Because at the end of the day, the system is supposed to produce results, and the failure to produce results has consequences." ...

...The episode has prompted top business lobby groups, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, to consider taking sides in Republican primaries next year in hopes of replacing tea-party conservatives with more business-friendly pragmatists...

Businesses are frustrated with the GOP? Hell, we're frustrated with the crony capitalists!

And just what the hell is a "Dirk van Dongen"? Oh and hey, Dirk, listen up: when the economy collapses as the country enters a fatal debt spiral, guess what: I don't think it's gonna be good for business.

...Even before the partial shutdown two weeks ago, Republican executives pressing for an immigration overhaul were venting frustration that the full House has been unwilling to consider any immigration legislation, including a bipartisan Senate bill, in the face of opposition from one wing of the party.

Norman Braman, a Miami businessman and GOP donor, said he is asking candidates who solicit campaign contributions for their position on immigration and will be reluctant to support those who don't back a revamp...

"Those of us who have been active and supportive of the party have a duty to express our feelings," he said...

Oh, and I guess we get to express our feelings, too, at least for the moment. Until Dear Leader does away with blogs, talk radio, and Fox News.

And say, Norman: if you're such a big GOP donor, perhaps you can tell me which way millions of low-skilled, largely illiterate workers from third-world countries -- who will be net drains on the taxpayer -- will vote? Here's a clue: it ain't gonna be for the Republicans.

Here's my message for the corporatist, crony capitalist backers of the GOP establishment-types: BRING IT.

These fakers, these losers like John McCain, Kelly Ayotte, and Jeff Flake -- to name but a few -- had to pretend to be conservative to get elected.

See, dummies, we're the real Republicans. We're not pretending to be that which we are not.

You're the charlatans, the fakers, the sellouts, the phonies. Join the damn Democrat Party if you want unbridled centralized government. Because we're having none of it.

President Obama helpfully warns Americans to stop listening to talk radio and reading blogs

Guest post by Tyler Durden

Fast forward to 5'40" in Obama's speech delivered earlier today.

It is here that he makes the following statement:

"Now that the government has reopened and this threat to our economy is removed, all of us need to stop focusing on the lobbyists, and the bloggers, and the talking heads on radio and the professional activists who profit from conflict, and focus on what the majority of Americans sent us here to do, and that’s grow this economy, create good jobs, strengthen the middle class, educate our kids, lay the foundation for broad-based prosperity and get our fiscal house in order for the long haul."

We will ignore the irony of a president talking about "profiting from conflict" when less than two months ago the world was on the verge of World War III over a fabricated, false flag-driven invasion "confirmed" by YouTube clips, and designed entirely by this administration to further (and profit) its Saudi and Qatari interests, and which was halted in the last minute thanks to none other than the Russian president, and ask: instead of stopping to "focus on bloggers" who merely do the math in a world in which math is long forgotten, let's for one month, week or day, simply halt the Federal Reserve's circular monetary authority which now purchases virtually all issued US Treasurys that carry any duration risk.

We wonder what that would do to interest rates, to the US debt-issuance and deficit-funding machinery, to the already crippled reserve status of the dollar, to the real default threat of a country that has long passed its Minsky Ponzi point, and to the same once great nation that cemented its world-dominance not thanks to a central bank funding a government which has spent in the past 5 years almost as much as in all of its prior history, but due to the encouragement of the entrepreneurial spirit, to minimal government meddling in (and illegal supervision of) all affairs of man and commerce, to allowing not only the reward of success but the risk of failure, and most importantly to allowing capitalism to reign free once again, if only for a brief period of time.

We will not even engage the question of just how much "wealth effect" has been left on the table with the Fed not actively monetizing all US debt in 95 years of its 100 years of existence, and certainly not engage in trite religious sermonizing written by a recently graduated drama major-cum-teleprompter operator.

WaPo Dimwit Ezra Klein Stunned to Find out That Soviet-Style Bureaucracies Like Obamacare Are Colossal Failures

How many countries have to collapse under the weight of collectivism and unchecked centralized government until hacks like Ezra Klein embrace limited government? That's a rhetorical question, because for schmucks like Klein big government is a religious ideology, not a fact-based examination of facts, history, logic and reason.

Stephen Kruiser reads the loathsome little punk so that you don't have to.

Full time Obamacare cheerleader Ezra Klein has been all over the place lamenting the utter failure of ACA's first couple of weeks.

We're now negative 14 days until the Affordable Care Act [sic] and most people still can't purchase insurance. The magnitude of this failure is stunning. Yes, the federal health-care law is a complicated project, government IT rules are a mess, and the scrutiny has been overwhelming. But the Obama administration knew all that going in. They should've been able to build an online portal that works.

Early on, President Obama like [sic] to compare the launch of the Affordable Care Act to Apple launching a new product. Can you imagine how many people Steve Jobs would've fired by now if he'd launched a new product like this?

So is anybody going to be held accountable? Is anybody going to be fired? Will anyone new be brought in to run the cleanup effort? Does the Obama administration know what went wrong, and are therr [sic] real plans to find out?

What's abundantly clear to anyone who reported on the run-up to the federal health-care law's launch is that the White House had no idea how badly the Web site [sic] would perform. They expected problems. But the full extent of the disaster was either obscured or ignored. Heads should roll for that. Changes should be made because of that.

(Quick aside: two typos in four paragraphs there. Doesn't WaPo have editors or spell-check?)

It's beyond adorable seeing Klein lament government rules as an obstacle to implementing more...government rules. But hey, at least he noticed!

I can hear some of you asking, "Oh, Doug - why are you so harsh on misguided hacks like Ezra Klein?"

Because he and his ilk are destroying my country, that's why. Every family in America is now in hock to creditors to the tune of, oh, about $600,000 in direct debt and unfunded liabilities.

They talk about conservatives being religious zealots? No, SOBs like Klein are the religious extremists, bent on bankrupting the country and destroying it in pursuit of some Utopian fantasy that has never existed in human history and can't ever be achieved.

Thousands of years of human experience with failed, despotic governments isn't enough for Klein; the Constitution, which radically changed the relationship between the individual and government isn't enough for Klein; the brilliance of the Framers, who provably created the greatest system of government ever seen on Earth isn't enough for Klein.

No, instead Klein thinks a back-bencher state Senator from Chicago's Daley Machine, who has never run a single business in his life, or created a single job, or accomplished anything of substance, can plan the entire auto industry, energy industry, health care industry and banking industry.

Folks, that is religious extremism.

Klein is a malevolent propagandist and he deserves every bit of mockery and criticism he gets.

OBAMA PRIORITIES: Veterans Greeted With Barricades and Riot Police; Illegal Immigrants Welcomed with Open Arms

Javier Manjarres relays photos of riot police engaging veterans at the #1MVetMarch:

Riot cops even showed up at the Lincoln Memorial to fend off dangerous interlopers like Sarah Palin:

Oh. And they needed armored vehicles to make their point.

Now I ask you to step back and consider the priorities of President Obama:

Immigration rally allowed on Mall despite shutdown

A week after World War II veterans struggled to gain access to a memorial on the National Mall due to the government's partial shutdown, thousands of people pushing for a new immigration law have been cleared by the government to proceed with a concert and rally Tuesday on the Mall.

The march, dubbed the "Camino Americano", or "American Road," is hosted by groups including the Service Employees International Union and Casa de Maryland...

..."It's bad enough watching these marches when we watch illegal aliens breaking our laws. Now they're being given free range on these public parks while we've seen the greatest generation military vets being turned away from their sacred memorials," said Bob Dane, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a group that opposes proposals in Congress to legalize the nation's undocumented immigrants. "It's offensive and it shows where their loyalties lie."

This administration appears to be something unique in American history. It continually flouts Constitutional limits, rewrites individual laws, defies American traditions, and undermines Judeo-Christian morals.

We have never seen its likes before and it could well take a miracle for the civil society to survive it.

AWESOME: Vets Dismantle Fences Around War Memorials, Then Barricade the White House

Guest post by Tyler Durden

The "Million Vet March" in Washington D.C. appears to be escalating as reports of barricades being torn down, police in riot gear and snipers being deployed, and a growing crowd at The White House chanting for its shut-down suggest the people are growing restless.

Via Epoch Times,

Protesters have gathered in front of the White House in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, according to reports.

Park police in riot gear were deployed in front of the building.

“US Park Police have arrived in front of WH. Some in riot gear! Tea party/veteran protesters start booing,” wrote CNN’s Jim Acosta on Twitter.

A rally took place at the World War II memorial and headed to the White House, reported NBC Washington. Several thousand demonstrators came out, it said.

NBC reported that people were carrying barricades that were likely from the WWII memorial to the White House area.

The DC Police Department said its officers are on the scene.

“MPD is on the scene at White House with USSS & USPP concerning protest – marchers using sidewalk,” it wrote on Twitter.

Commentator Sarah Palin and Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) were on the scene and spoke to demonstrators.

The organizers of the protest described themselves as the “Million Vet March.”

It said that veterans and military members are “being used a political pawns in the ongoing government shutdown and budget crisis,” its website reads.

Jeff Tompkins, a protester, told NBC that  “it should be open to everyone to come down here and see this … this is not just and not fair,” referring to the WWII memorial.

Snipers at the ready atop the White House as the crowds gather...

Via Twitchy,

Amazing.

Now, the protest continues outside of the White House.

OH, MY: New York Times and Chicago Tribune Roast Obamacare

Or, as I prefer to call it, ObamaCouldn'tCareLess. Both articles are must-reads (as well as the comments, which are hysterical - accusing, for instance, the Times of acting at the behest of Fox News or Rush Limbaugh).

[Link]: “These are not glitches,” said an insurance executive who has participated in many conference calls on the federal exchange. Like many people interviewed for this article, the executive spoke on the condition of anonymity, saying he did not wish to alienate the federal officials with whom he works. “The extent of the problems is pretty enormous. At the end of our calls, people say, ‘It’s awful, just awful.' ” ...

...Administration officials dug in their heels, repeatedly insisting that the project was on track despite evidence to the contrary...

Dr. Donald M. Berwick, the administrator of the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in 2010 and 2011, said the time and budgetary pressures were a constant worry. “The staff was heroic and dedicated, but we did not have enough money, and we all knew that,” he said in an interview on Friday.

Not enough money? Apparently, borrowing 40 cents of every dollar it spends isn't enough for this government. There's never enough money to get a doddering, incompetent, bloated, obese, monopoly of a federal government to work as efficiently as the free market.

[Link]: Adam Weldzius, a nurse practitioner, considers himself better informed than most when it comes to the inner workings of health insurance. But even he wasn't prepared for the pocketbook hit he'll face next year under President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.

If the 33-year-old single father wants the same level of coverage next year as what he has now with the same insurer and the same network of doctors and hospitals, his monthly premium of $233 will more than double. If he wants to keep his monthly payments in check, the Carpentersville resident is looking at an annual deductible for himself and his 7-year-old daughter of $12,700, a more than threefold increase from $3,500 today.

Gee, who could have predicted that a 2,200-page bill that no one read before voting on would have resulted in an unworkable disaster?

CONGRATS TO RAHM EMANUEL AND THE ENTIRE DEMOCRAT PARTY: Chicago Now More Violent Than During Capone Era

If Democrats weren't in power, they'd be useful only as comic relief. But the tragic fact is, when they are in power, their cities end up like Detroit and Chiraq (which is what the beleaguered taxpayers of Chicago call the Democrat haven for criminals):

Since Rahm Emanuel entered the political scene years ago, he’s been a master at manipulating the press to his benefit. A pliant media has largely gone along with whatever talking point Emanuel desired. Lately, some of the media has begun to put the spotlight on violent Chicago with its rather high murder rate. Banning or restricting handguns has not been very successful in combatting violence in Chicago. The website Big Government reports the bloody details:

After Chicago recorded a terrible homicide total of 53 in August, September wasn't much better for Rahm's "world class" city. The city suffered 41 homicides, 30 of which resulted from 184 total shootings

September brings more bad news for Chicago residents. While Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy, and the Chicago media have continued to hammer the point that the "crime rate is down," and "murder is down," as of September 22, the homicide total for 2013 now exceeds the rate up to the same date in 2011 by two percent at 350, according to the Chicago Police Crime Data Portal.

How does today’s Chicago hold up at the violent memory of Al Capone’s Chicago of the 1920s? Not very well. WLS-TV investigated the data and the evidence is rather stunning report in February:

Let's compare two months: January 1929, leading up to the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, and last month, January 2013. Forty-two people were killed in Chicago last month, the most in January since 2002, and far worse than the city's most notorious crime era at the end of the Roaring Twenties...

Even though the image of Chicago, perpetuated by Hollywood over the years, was that mobsters routinely mowed down people on the streets, the crime stats tell a different story. The figures from January 2013 are significantly higher than the January of Al Capone's most famous year.

It’s not just the Capone era violence that doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. Constantly we hear from the media and advocates of gun control that we don’t want things to become “the Wild West”. In the last several years, historians have begun to look at this long time legend that was promoted by Hollywood movies...

The old West with its minimal government and armed populace has never been too popular with progressives. But, the reality is it was never really violent according to Terry Anderson and Peter Hill. So, the murder rate of the Capone era and Dodge city of 1878 would be a major improvement for Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Perhaps the Tribune or some of the other media dinosaurs in the Second City can use the phrase GRIM MILESTONE as a prefix to their headline. That is, if they decide to even cover this story.

WOW - THE ASSOCIATED PRESS OPENS UP A CAN: Calls Out the Obama Administration for Acting Like Fascists

It's not often I quote bits of an AP article without highlighting the fabrications, omissions and spin, but in this case, I'll make an exception:

REPORT: OBAMA BRINGS CHILLING EFFECT ON JOURNALISM

The U.S. government's aggressive prosecution of leaks and efforts to control information are having a chilling effect on journalists and government whistle-blowers, according to a report released Thursday on U.S. press freedoms under the Obama administration.

The Committee to Protect Journalists conducted its first examination of U.S. press freedoms amid the Obama administration's unprecedented number of prosecutions of government sources and seizures of journalists' records. Usually the group focuses on advocating for press freedoms abroad. [Ed: Banana Republic, anyone?]

Leonard Downie Jr., a former executive editor of The Washington Post, wrote the 30-page analysis entitled "The Obama Administration and the Press" ... Downie interviewed numerous reporters and editors, including a top editor at The Associated Press, following revelations this year that the government secretly seized records for telephone lines and switchboards used by more than 100 AP journalists. Downie also interviewed journalists whose sources have been prosecuted on felony charges...

...To bypass journalists, the White House developed its own network of websites, social media and even created an online newscast to dispense favorable information and images...

...Kathleen Carroll, AP's executive editor, said the report highlights the growing threats to independent journalism in a country that has upheld press freedom as a measure of democratic society for two centuries.

It would appear even the AP has had enough of this administration's behavior, which resembles something in which a tinpot dictator would engage.

I commend Brett Zongker, Julie Pace, and the entire AP for their work.

And, guys, it's more than past time this administration's unprecedented series of scandals are revealed to America's pajama people, who are sleepwalking through the destruction of this country.
