Cool Facts About Dick Cheney

Happened upon one of the classic threads -- circa 2005 -- at Ace of Spades.

• When it snows in Washington, Dick Cheney doesn't put chains on his tires, but instead uses hippies.

• Dick Cheney's favorite snack? Souls.

• Ants have the proportional strength of Dick Cheney.

• For the past 32 years during his family's Christmas dinner Dick Cheney has carved and served the turkey pardoned by the President at Thanksgiving.

• In most places where West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil is pumped and sold, it is actually referred to by its more common name, "light, sweet Cheney."

• Dick Cheney was bitten by a radioactive spider in high school, imparting to the spider Cheney-like powers.

• When a new senator places his hand on the book to be sworn in, very few realize it is actually the Necronomicon until Cheney laughs and tells them "you're mine now".

• The only thing hard enough to cut Dick Cheney is Dick Cheney.

• While on a sex-spree in a Tijuana [brothel], Dick Cheney used a live cougar as a condom... The bodycount was fourteen Mexican [hookers] and one cougar... In Tijuana, they refer to this as "The Night of the Sodomizing Cougar-Man." Dick Cheney refers to it as "last Thursday."

• Bathes every night in the warm, viscous plasma of freshly killed Iraqi insurgents to keep his skin soft.

• After turning down an offer from Mafia Don, Cheney woke up with a horse head in his bed one morning. He grabbed it, held it like a teddy bear, and went back to sleep.

• It is widely believed that free-range chickens are far superior to captive ones, as they result in a more tender, juicy, healthful meal. Dick Cheney believes this too, but about homeless people.

• Dick Cheney refuses to obey the First Law of Thermodynamics on principle.

• Cheney's birth weight was 12 pounds 7 ounces, but had to be revised to 6 pounds 11 ounces after circumcision.

• Dick Cheney carries a leather bag filled with one tooth from the mouth of every man he's murdered in cold blood. The bag is forty feet in diameter and weighs approximately six tons. When Harry Reid pisses him off, he just points to his Big Bag O' Teeth and mouths out the words, "There's still room."

• Dick Cheney blocked the filming of The Lord of the Rings for forty years, because he deemed Elves "too f***ing faggy." Production could only begin once he was busy running for the Vice Presidency.

• Dich Cheney's measured, elegant speaking style belies the fact that he opens all Senate sessions with "Listen up, motherf***ers.", and then throws a gavel at Barbara Boxer.

• As CEO of Halliburton, executives from rival megacorporations would attempt to kill or capture Cheney to ransom him for Halliburton stocks. Cheney survived all 273 such attacks, his Wyoming ranch uses their skulls to mark his territory.

• His snarl was formed at an early age. While breastfeeding, he'd tell his dad to "Back the f*** off."

• In a bow to conservationsists, Dick Cheney converted his SUV. It now runs on orphans. And puppies. And orphan puppies. Also, it gets 1 mpg city, 3 freeway. And he never leaves the city.

• Doctors turn their head when Dick Cheney coughs.

• Most people don't know Cheney has a soft side. One time he executed a waiter at a resturant with a steak knife (the waiter was late coming with Dick's steak sauce). Saddened by what he had done, Cheney wept openly for a full minute. Then he cut out the waiter's heart and ate it, tears running down his cheeks.

• In quatrain X 75, Nostradamus wrote: A horse-like man, the king he'll rule - to take black gold in eastern soil - A name of chayne, fooler of fools - Anti-Christ to hats of foyle

• To this day, John Edwards often wakes up screaming in the middle of the night, terrified that the last thing he's going to hear before he dies is the words "Let me simply thank the senator for the kind words he said about my family and our daughter. I appreciate that very much."

• Toughest part of George Bush's job - convincing Cheney to give better justification in meetings with foreign dignitaries than "Because that's just the f***in' way I want it."

• As a youth, angrily denounced Pol Pot for "just phoning it in, sometimes."

• When Dick Cheney shaves in the morning he has to hold a loaded .44 to his head to keep from cutting his own throat.

• Dick Cheney is so hard, he has a vestigal immune system.

• Dick Cheney made the President and CEO of Lockheed Martin piss his pants at a demonstration flight of the F-22 by saying "this better rock, bitch".

• Dick Cheney used to write childrens' stories under the pen name "H.P. Lovecraft."

• During a 1962 fraternity road trip Cheney attended a donkey show in a Tijuana nightclub. Today, as the "Shrine of the Weeping Burro," it attracts over 3 million pilgrims annually.

• Dick Cheney invented the sport of kitten-stapling, including both the height and span categories.

• Cheney is in a secure bunker in an undisclosed location. Not for his protection, but for ours.

Update: The Bad: "Dick Cheney shot a man in the face while hunting. That man apologized to Cheney from the hospital."

Mark Levin Goes Off

If you've never heard a Mark Levin rant before, let me be the first to welcome you to the jungle.

This one here's a classic (MP3 format).

Listen and distribute -- far and wide.

Update: Levin's quick reaction to the SOTU.

James O'Keefe Abdulmutallab

Anyone else wondering how the Obama Justice Department could so badly flub the detainment of underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab (hereafter referred to as Yabba Dabba Doo)? After a few minutes of confession, someone apparently read Miranda Rights to the would-be mass murderer after which Yabba clammed and lawyered up.

Yet let investigative journalist James O'Keefe meander into Mary Landrieu's office and sit down in a guest chair, and he's instantly arrested by up-armored federal authorities and charged with a felony?

I wonder whether this sort of thing is related to the type of 'selective justice' that our beloved Attorney General is so famous for?

Send John McCain into retirement: Support J. D. Hayworth for United States Senate

John McCain was a terrible -- terrible -- candidate for president in 2008. He advocated cap-and-trade to deal with the non-existent warmal colding scam; he tried to shove amnesty for illegal immigrants down our throats; he tried to destroy freedom of speech with McCain-Feingold; he was one of the "Gang of 14" that let Democrats illegally filibuster conservative judicial nominees; and he couldn't articulate a coherent sentence during the campaign ("Heh, heh... my friends"). And he certainly doesn't understand the Constitution and the principles of our founding.

And if all of those factors don't gall you, his disgusting dirty tricks campaign against GOP primary contender J. D. Hayworth will.

One year after seeing his presidential ambitions extinguished in an overwhelming defeat, Arizona Sen. John McCain is launching a scorched-earth campaign aimed at incinerating a reelection challenge from J.D. Hayworth, the conservative former Arizona congressman and radio talk show host.

McCain is attempting, with a series of hardball tactics, to cut Hayworth down before his campaign even gets off the ground...

...He’s mounted a concerted effort during the past month to push Hayworth off the airwaves, run an ad targeting Hayworth on his own radio station and warned him through emissaries that going through with a bid to unseat McCain would be a serious mistake.

...Hayworth spokesman Jason Rose said Hayworth’s announcement Friday that he was canceling his show — which came just hours before he declared that he was launching a campaign — was owed in no small part to the pressure the McCain forces brought to bear on the station.

“John McCain is a powerful and influential figure and served on the Commerce Committee,” said Rose, who went on to argue that radio executives feared the Arizona senator’s “wrath.”

...One source familiar with the McCain campaign said the offensive was only a preview of things to come, adding, “I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of this.”

[McCain's surrogates] filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission... and [the] effort to shoot down Hayworth has also taken place behind the scenes, according to several sources, with McCain allies warning Hayworth against a campaign...

McCain has reconvened his team of seasoned operatives from his 2008 White House run to meet the Hayworth challenge. Heading up the effort are Rick Davis, McCain’s 2008 campaign manager; Charlie Black, a senior adviser on the campaign; Christian Ferry, McCain’s deputy campaign manager; and Fred Davis, the veteran longtime GOP media consultant who oversaw McCain’s ad effort...

These are the same operatives and the same candidate who wouldn't even mention Barack Obama's Marxist, anti-American preacher of 20 years during the campaign! Who wouldn't raise Obama's dozens of other radical connections, any one of which would have disqualified him from the office of the presidency in the eyes of most Americans.

To put it bluntly: he played patty-cake with Obama while acting like Donald Segretti against fellow Republicans.

If you've had enough of mush-mouthed Republicans who don't read or can't understand the Constitution, I urge you to support J. D. Hayworth for United States Senate.

Earthquake Preparedness

Papa B writes:

For folks who live in the Midwest and have seen the effects of the earthquake in Haiti, it's worth acquainting yourself with the New Madrid Fault.

Charleston, SC had one of the worst earthquakes in 1888, which I think was related to New Madrid.

I always carry a "to go" bag in my trunk.

Knowing Papa B as I do, I would guess this is a duffel bag packed with -- at minimum -- a Beretta 92FS, a carbine, twenty or more loaded mags, some gold and silver bullion, a week's worth of MREs and a Katadyn water filter.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Navy Pledges 'Green Strike Force' by 2012; No Word on Zero-Carbon Emission Bunker-Busters

Please, someone -- anyone -- tell me that this is an early April Fool's Day joke.

If there's any group on Earth that shouldn't have to worry about carbon emissions -- especially now that warmal colding has been exposed as another in a series of U.N.-orchestrated bunko scams (remember "Oil for Food"?) -- it's our brave men and women serving in the military.

What's next? Zero-emission Tomahawks? Earth-friendly F-16s? I've got an idea: let's save the environment by taking out Iran's nuclear weapons facility before they get a chance to use their nukes on us. We'll call it a wash.

The Financial Regulation Lie

Politicians in Washington keep telling us that it is the financial system that needs regulation.

What Washington won't tell you is that the greatest risk to our economic system lies not with Wall Street. It lies with the federal government's catastrophic debt -- and the wounded U.S. dollar -- inflicted upon us by the very same politicians scapegoating the financial services industry.

About half of the federal budget must be paid for by borrowing money from foreigners, primarily from China. This behavior has frightened global investors and severely weakened the dollar.

Last June, the Congressional Budget Office warned that the "federal budget is on an unsustainable path -- meaning that federal debt will continue to grow much faster than the economy... [and] Rising costs for health care and the aging of the U.S. population will cause federal spending to increase rapidly..."

"... Large budget deficits [will lead] to more borrowing from abroad and less domestic investment, which in turn would depress income growth... The accumulation of debt would seriously harm the economy. [Or] if spending grew as projected and taxes were raised in tandem, tax rates would have to reach levels never seen in the United States [95%]."

Yet the same federal bureaucrats who decry the financial system are themselves addicted to spending far beyond their means. But why would they care? They will be long gone by the time their bills will come due.

Dichotomy: outside the U.S., the "biggest story in the world economy is the continuing fall of the U.S. dollar" (Wall Street Journal); while inside the U.S., the mainstream media gleefully markets the proposition that that Congress' "Baucus Bill" is cost-neutral.

Even before the health care bill becomes law, $9.3 trillion of new deficit spending was added to the national debt. The Baucus Bill supposedly gets its cost neutrality by slashing Medicare ($400 billion) and raising taxes on health care insurance premiums (another $400 billion).

But the mainstream media forgot to tell you that even the CBO doesn't trust its own numbers! The head of the CBO wrote Baucus, telling him that -- if Congress failed to cut Medicare (highly likely, given seniors' voting habits) -- the new entitlement would add catastrophic new debt to the federal budget.

But even if the numbers were real, the illogical thinking is shocking. President Obama told us that passing health care reform was central to a healthy economy. The Democrats proclaim victory with supposed deficit neutrality while our current "unsustainable" deficit grows like a devastating form of cancer.

Instead of just starting with cuts to Medicare and adding insurance taxes -- thereby cutting the 10-year deficit by $1 trillion (including interest) -- the Democrats are attempting to nationalize 20% of the economy as a payoff to the SEIU bosses who contributed $27 million to Obama's 2008 campaign.

Helping a few million uninsured people get access to health insurance is a noble goal, but not at the expense of permanently destroying the United States economy. Adding entitlement programs while we can barely crawl out of the current deficit hole is suicidal behavior.

Washington must:

• Slash federal spending on needless programs
• Begin to raise the eligibility age for Medicare and Social Security
• Starting offering optional, private savings accounts to young people to eventually replace the dying Medicare and Social Security programs

The Soros- and union-funded Democrats are so far out of touch with the principles of our founding that they represent a completely anti-American movement. John F. Kennedy -- he of the tax cuts and strong national defense -- would be as reviled in the modern Democrat Party as Joe Lieberman. It's up to Republicans to lead the way.

American Prospect's Paul Waldman Engages in D-Bagging: Hilarity Ensues

Oh, criminy. I think I just wee-weed myself. Couldn't control the belly laughing and... accidentally let go. I couldn't help it! I was reading The American Prospect and...

The startlingly brilliant Paul Waldman -- writing at the ominously named TAPPED blog -- blames the loss in Massachusetts on Democrats not being socialist enough.

No, seriously.

While I go change, check this out:

Republicans have been working very hard to convince them that the teabaggers screaming about socialism represent more than a small minority of the country (they don't), and that the current voter discontentment doesn't really have much to do with the economy – which would mean that your average independent voter will still be determined to throw the bums out even after the economy recovers.

But that's not the wave Democrats should be worried about right now. The most important political event of this week wasn't Scott Brown's victory in the special election, it was the reaction of Democrats. They were caught totally unprepared, and as a consequence had no coordinated message to deliver about what it meant. Instead, one Democrat after another came to the cameras and acted as though the Republicans had just won not one, but 20 seats in the Senate, and were now in control. It was a parade of pathetic, cowardly losers, reinforcing every argument their opponents made and going out of their way to proclaim their surrender.

What the Democrats in Congress and the White House need to understand is that there is a wave of disgust spreading through their supporters that is so powerful, if they don't stop it soon, it will doom them.

...[These] people who had – and still have! – historic majorities in Congress, yet act as though they're powerless. If Democrats can't show their supporters that they have some spine, those supporters won't be supporters anymore. This fall, they will decline to vote in huge numbers, and a bad midterm election will become a catastrophe. This is a moment of real crisis for Democrats when it comes to their base of support. And I've seen precious little evidence that they realize it.

Democratic cowardice is an old story – not long ago, I wrote a whole book about how they might get past it. And for a while, it looked like they would. Congressional Democrats stood up for themselves, and won back control in 2006. Then the Democratic presidential candidate in 2008 ran a brilliant campaign. They seemed to grasp that it's not enough to have the right policies - you also need to demonstrate to the public that you are strong and principled. But now it's as if we've turned back the clock, and they've forgotten everything they seemed to learn in those years.

Full speed ahead, Democrats! The great and mighty Paul Waldman -- who apparently wrote a book once -- has spoken!

Stick to your principles, Democrats: ignore the taxpayers, demolish the Constitution, crush free enterprise and nationalize more industries! Tax, spend and tax some more!

Elections be damned! Republicans be damned! Paul Waldman knows best. And you, not being a book author-slash-Prospect blogger-slash-political genius -- are powerless to resist.

Bumper Sticker o' the Day

Idea: ReliaPundit.

America Today: an Address

Decades of time ago, under a vale of fairness, compassion, protection, and in following years, political correctness and environmental concern, a new culture was brought forth to this nation. Conceived in Godlessness, immorality, corruption and governmental tyranny, and dedicated to the proposition that sloth, greed, dishonesty, stupidity and dependence would drive men to lose their integrity and souls, forfeit their liberties, and grovel at the feet of a self-interested, almighty government and its liberty-fearing leaders.

We now engage in a great moral and social war testing whether those who abhor this damnable ideology will fight to regain the strength and soul of this once great country or allow it to finally fall completely into the ash heap of history. To rebound from the moral and social blight created by those who have degraded the freedoms and strengths of our once great nation and its people to increase their own power and wealth. We are met on a great battlefield of that war at a crucial time and have come to take back this great nation for those who have died defending it, the children that are its future, and those who still take pride in loving it, savoring its freedom and calling it home. It is vital that we should do this for the benefit of the future of this country and mankind. For that last great bastion of freedom and prosperity is fast becoming what it was and not what it is.

We cannot waste, we cannot hand over, we cannot just give away this hallowed ground millions have died to protect. To those heartless and soulless titans of self-interest and character assassination who have desecrated and reduced this society far below our power to rebuild it today or tomorrow, but in the many years it will take to reverse an ideology that reduces God to an enemy of the state, diminishes individual liberty, disrespects private property, limits free speech, negates the uniqueness of human life, promotes the destruction of the family, abuses the most innocent and defenseless, and develops a culture of wickedness and lawlessness to release upon this society, which they then attempt to disarm while hiding behind their taxpayer-funded fortresses.

Unlike the crisis they have dreamed up, if we do not act here in true and real urgency, the world will not long remember the greatness of this land and what it has stood for. It will instead be taught to forget the appreciation of those who it has freed and fed in the name of humanity and liberty and who have craved a chance to bask in its freedom.

On our city streets we are reminded with great remorse of the empty lives and dreamless futures of those whose lives have been used and destroyed by others who use government dependence as a tool for political survival.

It is for us the living and still freedom-loving to be dedicated to reversing the selfish and sinful work which they who have used humanity here have so despicably advanced. To guarantee this nation founded under God, shall have a reemergence of freedom of the people, by the people and for the people. Under God and so help us God.

Victor the Contractor: The Democrat Party Has Just Been Raided!

By Victor the Contractor

Can you hear the earth rumbling underfoot? A change is coming, and it will do away with 'Change you can believe in,' and leave more than change in your pocket. A lot of people in this country are fed up with the course the Democrat-controlled Legislature was plotting and the past few elections have sent a shot across the bow of Liberals and their 'Progressive Agenda.'

The victory of Scott Brown in Massachusetts last night was the latest warning of the coming Republican tsunami that will wash out the Marxists for the next generation in both Houses of Congress. I'm calling for a change of leadership in the House and Senate and the immediate realization that President Obama is a one-termer, a sort of Carter Presidency redux. Before you rain on my parade and say that the Democrat agenda is still in the works -- and some of it can be forced through in the next ten days -- be advised that above even their Communist plans for this country the Democrats love power. And to keep any kind of power they need to be reelected periodically.

Having failed to set up the National Health Care Consortium that would serve as a revolving door through which failed politicians would recycle back onto bureaucratic payrolls (and control about a sixth of the economy), the Democrats are forced to stay in power the old fashioned way; by running for reelection. Their plans for a 'United Socialist American Republic' have once again been thwarted by an electorate that refused to sustain the momentum of the government's rush toward a totalitarian state. It seem that most Americans are not sweet on the idea of paying for illegal aliens to go to American schools and doctors. One need only examine the de facto bankruptcy of California to realize the inevitable results of government-run health care and overly generous welfare programs.

We have a country that is solidly center-right in its political bent. The Obama election was an understandable aberration in that it was based upon a suddenly ailing economy and a vitriolic press exacerbating the problems. With a bad recession, the party in power always gets tossed out. Simple as that. The lessons some took from the election were that the country had swung permanently left and that a European style of socialism was now possible because most people had realized that they were responsible for their fellow citizens' needs. From there it was a short hop to health care being a Constitutional right. And then to a proposed wealth transfer -- using Cap-and-Trade -- to countries with failed economies over guilt for our success as an industrialized nation. To me it makes little sense but then I'm not a rabidly liberal member of the normally socialist press, am I?

Well, the voters have spoken a third time and it resonates on a national level. With a Scott Brown Senate win in Massachusetts, Chris Christie and Bob McDonnell in the Governor's races in New Jersey and Virginia respectively, the country is forewarned of an unmistakable shift from a silent tolerance of the liberalism in Washington to repudiation of all things socialist and maybe even an overcompensation to the right in the coming November elections.

There is an epidemic of Democrat cold sweat breaking out nationwide and it can only mean a shift to the right politically if there is even a hope of reelection for some of these characters. And while the White House downplays a growing list of election losses and the press decries the electorate as superstitious and stupid for 'clinging the their guns and bibles', the mainstream Democrats are quietly retooling their platform to focus on jobs and the economy. Health care, Cap-and-Trade and the 'Card Check' travesty are crosses to be now carried only by liberals who intend to fall on their swords in November.

I am also noting a curious behavior only engaged in by Democrats and the commentators who subsist on the party swill: they destroy their losers. It started last week with a report that Barney Frank blamed the Senate loss on Ms. Coakely; this being at a campaign rally days before the election. Commentators are also falling back on the tired, lame explanation that the Democrats didn't get their message out effectively enough and didn't frame the issues. This couldn't be further from the truth: the Democrats and liberal press have not only framed the debate but declared it "settled" on numerous subjects when it served their purposes. Others blame 'angry voters' or fear-mongering as reasons the Democrats lost. Suffice it to say that we'll never hear from the losing contestants again. No one blacklists like the Democrats. Maybe they will become commentators who resurface during election cycles, but not any in the foreseeable future.

I am interested to see who will press harder to further the liberal agenda before all the air is let out of the balloon, so to speak. I think its over for all but a vestigial health care bill that tinkers with the existing system in some trivial way so the administration can declare a Pyrrhic victory. Even that will require major negotiations with Republicans and the Democrats are currently loathe to stoop to that level.

The Democrats' influence is going to go into decline and a new conservative mood will permeate government. A couple of things will force Washington's hand. First, we are all aware that the borrowing engaged in by the Obama Administration has nearly bankrupted the country and that our lender nations are already making noises about the wisdom of our expenditures. Let China pass on one bond auction and we'll see how 'prosperous' we are. It will cause a depression in about five minutes. That's because all credit is extended on the assumption of eventual payback with interest and China refusing to buy our notes will signal a loss of confidence in our credit-worthiness. A collapse of the markets would soon follow. Think 1929; then 1931.

Second, even if we are able to make payments indefinitely, of which I'm not entirely convinced, the interest alone will consuming so much of the budget that spending growth is out of the question. We simply have to cut back on spending, and in some cases it will be rather draconian.

Whether it be by Republican or Democrat leadership, we were due to lower spending as a condition of economic survival. And I know that the Democrats wanted to destroy the economy so they could remake it in Stalin's own image but we would probably go into a kind of 'economic receivership' before that happened. Even if it did, the Government of China is not a bottomless source of funding. Spending cuts were on the horizon by necessity. And simply raising taxes to fund projects results in less revenue as people and companies progressively shield income from scrutiny.

I want to see how Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid react in the coming weeks to the election results and change in mood of the elected officials across the country. No longer can they ignore public opinion or turn a blind eye to the coming elections. But I really want to know if they will continue to ram through some type of nationalization of the health care system (and probably fail in the process) or back off and suddenly change their focus to the economy. The wise thing to do would be to regroup and wait out a few election cycles; but I feel the temptation is too great not to try to get the assorted bills to the White House and sacrifice both House majorities to do so. After all, this is what the Leftists in Congress have salivating over for a generation. If they can't pass health care, Cap-and-Trade and Card Check now, they will die before the Democrats again have the needed majorities to do so. So they have ten days: lets see what they do.

Alternately, we have to live now with the fallout of letting a spendthrift government control our collective destiny. Somebody's got to pay down this debt. And that falls to us. For all revenue derived by the government comes from the American people. Even if we could stop the growth of Government, and we are not even close to doing that yet, we have to pay interest on some 12.3 trillion dollars and somehow pay that down. We pay it down by borrowing less. I'm not advocating for a total cessation of borrowing because that would cause a governmental shutdown as we ran out of money to pay our bills -- but we need to cut spending drastically. And again, that's where the Democrats come in.

There will be a fight for the heart and soul of the Democrat party during the coming months. Moderate Democrats, who know all too well the mood of the country, will try to 'mainstream' the platform of the party to the center and stress the economy and jobs. They know that the old maxim, 'its the economy, stupid,' dominates politics during periods of high unemployment. Trying to avoid the problem would result in their bodies getting thrown under the bus at election time. Alternately, the far left liberals, who should be known as Communists were the truth-in-advertising laws enforced, know this is the last gasp for another generation. It really is the last time the sixties radical washouts will have almost total control of the levers of power, and it looks like they have about ten days left. After that they know they will have diminishing influence on policy and have to engage in public discourse to change attitudes. And they are never good at that sort of thing when serious issues dominate the discussion. Who cares about global warming, climate Change or whatever they are calling the climactic disaster du jour -- when funding college tuition or unemployment is the major topic of conversation at the dinner table?

Liberals who spout off about the poor in Africa miss the point when our children may not get to go to college. They sound like whining children to an under- or unemployed steel worker. Who really cares about the coming climate disaster when your company is downsizing because they couldn't sell enough product to justify their payroll? Some moderate Democrats understand the lessons the Republicans learned when they took a good flogging last year in the election: a voter's family comes first. It comes first over the political aims of either party; all politics are local and the issue becomes personal during a recession.

The Democrats have to sort out what manner of party they are, now that their agenda has been completely rejected by the voters. And this is only a prelude to November. True socialist believers will continue to demand a Euro-American model, knowing they are doomed to failure. Moderate Democrats will have to distance themselves from the party in the short term while they battle behind the scenes for control. Republicans will gradually meander more to the right as they seek to differentiate themselves from Democrats who have just 'found religion.' This will be enjoyable to watch, especially as the Communist News Network and the Liberal Mass media grow more dour as the election approaches. Their Party is over, at least as they know it.

But we have to do something to rescue our economy from a possible disaster: this hyper-spending must stop. We must return to a work ethic that stresses enthusiastic effort and not manipulation of some other person's productivity. A re-adoption of self-reliance and can-do spirit in the vein of Ronald Reagan is in order. And I know just the ticket to stir up some good ole' American controversy: Sarah Palin and Scott Brown. Who more to humble the 'Entitlement Party' then two self-made successes?

Let the Democrats dwell on that for a while.

Yo, Tanenhaus! How's that 'Conservatism is Dead' Meme Workin' Out?

Remember this numbskull?

Well, lookee here:

In an epic upset in liberal Massachusetts, Republican Scott Brown rode a wave of voter anger to defeat Democrat Martha Coakley in a U.S. Senate election Tuesday that left President Barack Obama's health care overhaul in doubt and marred the end of his first year in office.

The loss by the once-favored Coakley for the seat that the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy held for nearly half a century signaled big political problems for the president's party this fall when House, Senate and gubernatorial candidates are on the ballot nationwide.

More immediately, Brown will become the 41st Republican in the 100-member Senate, which could allow the GOP to block the president's health care legislation and the rest of Obama's agenda. Democrats needed Coakley to win for a 60th vote to thwart Republican filibusters.

To my brothers and sisters in Massachusetts: thank you! You have fired another historic "shot heard 'round the world."

Hear me, Democrats: a powerful storm nears. Read feverishly through the Constitution if you wish to save your jobs. The time between thunderclaps is narrowing.

• Best line of the day I heard: "Scott Brown win is Mary Jo's revenge" ?Go Scott Go Baby!?? <--Don't forget Martha Moxley

• How can any democrat tweet me in my face saying "Scott Brown is a joke." When they elected Al Franken.

• Since it pisses off teabagging turds: Remember, Mass voters: vote for Scott Brown like spitting on Ted Kennedy's grave

Actually, that last one might motivate a few conservatives to vote for Brown.

Obama rates Coakley campaign 'a solid B+'

Privately, of course, White House insiders appear to have written off the thoroughly inept and unprepared Coakley.

On Monday, perhaps playing an expectations game that insulates the president, the White House signaled some pessimism about her chances of winning.

There may also be 'real genuine fear' in the White House that the election may not be close: i.e., Coakley would lose by double-digits.

MyFox Boston has Brown a 15-point winner.

ARG has Brown up by 7 and Insider Advantage puts the lead at 9.

Lefty blogger Nate Silver of 538.com, using his tippity-top secret projection model, has Brown a 3:1 favorite.

Meanwhile, John Kerry warned his party's SEIU thugs to beware of dangerous seniors, veterans and other concerned citizens who "mistakenly believe that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land".

Obama: I don't know Scott Brown's record, but I'll attack it anyway -- Unnamed 'White House advisers' throw Coakley under bus

This afternoon, President Obama visited Massachusetts in a last-ditch effort to save Martha Coakley's disastrous campaign for . Doesn't he look ecstatic to be there?

"He's drivin' his truck around the Commonwealth... I don't know him, he may be a perfectly nice guy... I don't know whether he's been fighting for you up until now..."

Oops. Since Scott Brown is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard, it should be quite apparent he's been fighting for them.

The Times of London puts it plainly, headlining today's article on the race "Voters desert President Barack Obama in Ted Kennedy seat":

“People who I never in a million years thought would have voted Republican are going to him,” said Rhonda Serre, a mother of two who has lost her job but still supports the Democrats. On Friday Brown was joined by Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York. “This election will send a signal and a very dramatic one,” Giuliani said. “Believe me, the Democrats are frightened.”

Most analysts still believe the Democrats can win. But even a narrow defeat will be portrayed as a victory by the Republicans. Brown’s Senate campaign is already being studied by party strategists as a model. “He’s making healthcare a front-and-centre issue in the most liberal state in the country and it’s working for him,” said Whit Ayres, co-founder of Resurgent Republic, a group of conservative strategists.

“It’s the albatross around the Democrats’ necks.”

Obama advisers are quietly spreading word that Coakley's campaign is doomed.

Multiple advisers to President Obama have privately told party officials that they believe Democrat Martha Coakley is going to lose Tuesday’s special election to fill the Massachusetts Senate seat held by the late Ted Kennedy for more than 40 years, several Democratic sources told CNN Sunday.

The sources added that the advisers are still hopeful that Obama's visit to Massachusetts on Sunday - coupled with a late push by Democratic activists - could help Coakley pull out a narrow victory in an increasingly tight race against Republican state Sen. Scott Brown.

However, the presidential advisers have grown increasingly pessimistic in the last three days about Coakley's chances after a series of missteps by the candidate, sources said.

InTrade now has Brown trading at 65, a five-point lift over the last 90 minutes alone.

Update via Twitter: "Overheard in Coakley camp 'I wanted Whitey Bulger not Obama to stop by'". Heh.

To my brothers and sisters in Massachusetts

To my brothers and sisters in Massachusetts,

Few people ever get a chance to tell their children that they helped save their country. On Tuesday, you have that chance.

By casting a vote for Scott Brown, you can provide the 41st vote in the United States Senate that will block President Obama's agenda.

In casting a vote for Scott Brown, you can stop the 2200-page health care bill that rewards unionized workers, citizens of Nebraska, and medical malpractice lawyers.

In casting a vote for Scott Brown, you can stop "Cap-and-Trade" bills that claim carbon dioxide -- which plants need to produce oxygen -- is a taxable pollutant.

In casting a vote for Scott Brown, you can halt the kind of open borders policy that has destroyed California's economy and which threatens our nation as a whole.

In casting a vote for Scott Brown, you can reject the massive deficit spending, the class warfare, the wealth redistribution schemes, the targeting and nationalization of entire industries.

In casting a vote for Scott Brown, you can quietly state your belief in the founding principles of the United States. That is: limited government, a respect for individual liberty, free enterprise and private property.

Those who oppose your vote reject America's founding principles: the very tenets that led to the creation of the greatest country the world has ever seen.

In little more than two hundred years, Americans defeated slavery, Nazism, military Shintoism and Communism; refined mass production; invented human flight; created 75% of all medical innovations on the planet; put a man on the moon; invented the telephone, the Internet and the search engine; and advanced humankind in millions of other ways, in every field and endeavor.

Those who oppose your vote oppose our Constitution and our Declaration of Independence.

Those who oppose your vote refute the notion of God-given rights of man and carefully constructed limits on an all-powerful, centralized, authoritarian government.

Those who oppose your vote see the world as rigid classes of people that must be manipulated to advance a political agenda; whereas we revel in the notion that America has no static class structure; that every day the rich become poor and the poor rich.

Those who oppose your vote oppose free markets and the power of any individual -- no matter the race, creed, religion or color -- to achieve greatness through hard work, study, inspiration and innovation.

On Tuesday, I humbly ask that you cast a vote for Scott Brown for United States Senate. I ask that you cast a vote for liberty. That you cast a vote for mankind.

Few people ever get this chance. The history books are waiting.
