The Tragic Idiocy of Political Correctness

Glenn Reynolds relays a note from a reader who'd rather remain anonymous.

...My wife and I are the guardians of a girl who came from a home where we believe she may have been sexually abused or witnessed sexual abuse of her mother. Her father had abandoned their family and the mother had struggled to survive and eventually turned to prostitution with the child in the house. This all happened when she was a preschooler. She did the most disturbing things when she was taken from her mother and placed in our custody. For example, she had the habit of walking up to any random male who paid any fleeting attention to her, such as a pizza deliveryman, hug him, and say “I love you.” We, along with child therapists have worked with her since we’ve had her, and now, 5 years later, she is a very normal middle grade schooler. She is successful in school, has close friends, and is good at sports and music We are protective. We keep an eye on her, especially the adults she interacts with.

At this point I will not take her to an airport. How could I? I am unable to justify the risk of exposing her to a situation where not only would she would be forced to submit to a stranger fondling her genitals, but my wife and I would be forced, under threat of a multi-thousand dollar fine, to “force” our child to comply. I can’t imagine anything more threatening to her mental well being, and the fine we would have to pay to refuse might cost us our house. This means that until the situation changes, she will not travel by air. Fortunately, we have no plans to travel by air anytime in the near future. We did earlier in the summer, ,and so it was only by sheer luck that we did not have to eat three plane tickets.

So when I read Guy Winch suggest that airports have “a mental health professional on staff or available as a referral ” for the poor TSA agents who have to grope people day in and day out, all I can think of is that if anything, the airports should have a mental health professional on staff to handle the inevitable situation where a prior victim of sexual abuse is singled out, groped, and melts down right there in the airport security area. The TSA agents are not the people most endangered by this outrageous policy, and when I see videos of TSA agents strip searching children, it is obvious that the TSA has never considered the potential of what they might be doing or have already done to both child and adult victims of sexual abuse, some of whom may not be known to their parents or guardians.

Here's a really tough question: what prevents the TSA from simply pre-screening the vast majority of American airline passengers who represent no threat whatsoever?

• The family of four traveling to Orlando for their sixth vacation in six years?
• The frequent flier who has 100 segments piled up over the last 18 months?
• The DOD contractor with a Top Secret security clearance?
• The grandparents who fly to Florida each fall and back to Michigan every spring?
• The 18 cheerleaders flying to San Antonio for a competition?

The list goes on and on. These are the same big government addicts who want to control your physical well-being and ration health care using a vast database of electronic health records and a panel of advisers who recommend treatments.

Yet they can't figure out that Joe Fubar is a cleared defense contractor working on the F-22 Raptor. Or that Mrs. Beasley is headed to Phoenix for the 12th year in a row to visit her best friend.

So they end up giving each air traveler the colonoscopy they will routinely deny to seniors because of the "Complete Lives" formula. These Democrats are a freaking joke. A sad joke, to be sure, but a joke all the same.

Sweet Fancy Moses: The Electronic Tomahawk Known as Stuxnet May Have Taken Out Thousands of Iranian Centrifuges!

The Associated Press has an exclusive report, relayed through diplomatic channels, that thousands of Iranian centrifuges have been shut down. The centrifuges are used to enrich uranium and could easily be employed to build nuclear weapons.

The diplomats told The Associated Press on Monday they had no specifics of the problem that led Iran in recent months to briefly power down the machines... But suspicions focused on the Stuxnet worm, the computer virus thought to be aimed at Iran's nuclear program. Experts last week identified the worm as calibrated to destroy centrifuges by sending them spinning out of control.

Iran is under U.N. sanctions for refusing to freeze enrichment, which it says it needs to make reactor fuel. The process can be used to produce the fissile core of nuclar warheads.

If this report is accurate -- and the attack can truly be attributed to Stuxnet -- it probably represents the most insanely sophisticated use of information warfare in history. That we know of.

The 5 Most Amazing Details of the Stuxnet Cyberbomb

The security firm Symantec continues to reverse-engineer the Stuxnet cyberworm and has confirmed that it is probably the most sophisticated infoweapon ever developed.

...there is now strong evidence linking the Stuxnet virus, which modifies code on SCADA and PLC control systems, to a state-sponsored attack on Iran’s nuclear enrichment programme...

The virus was found to attack only frequency converter drives – power supply units that can change the frequency of the output and control the speed of a motor – from two specific vendors, one based in Finland and the other in Tehran.

Stuxnet also requires the converter drives to be operating at very high speeds, between 807 Hz and 1210 Hz, which are used only in a limited number of applications. Interfering with the speed of the motors sabotages the normal operation of the industrial control process...

Efficient low-harmonic frequency converter drives that output over 600Hz are regulated for export in the US by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as they can be used for uranium enrichment.

Symantec's analysis revealed the critical details of Stuxnet.

However, we can now confirm that Stuxnet requires the industrial control system to have frequency converter drives from at least one of two specific vendors, one headquartered in Finland and the other in Tehran, Iran. This is in addition to the previous requirements we discussed of a S7-300 CPU and a CP-342-5 Profibus communications module... The target system would potentially look something like the diagram below...

A frequency converter drive is a power supply that can change the frequency of the output, which controls the speed of a motor. The higher the frequency, the higher the speed of the motor...

[1] We are now able to describe the purpose of all of Stuxnet’s code.
[2] Stuxnet requires particular frequency converter drives from specific vendors, some of which may not be procurable in certain countries.
[3] Stuxnet requires the frequency converter drives to be operating at very high speeds, between 807 Hz and 1210 Hz. While frequency converter drives are used in many industrial control applications, these speeds are used only in a limited number of applications.
[4] Stuxnet changes the output frequencies and thus the speed of the motors for short intervals over periods of months. Interfering with the speed of the motors sabotages the normal operation of the industrial control process.
[5] Stuxnet’s requirement for particular frequency converter drives and operating characteristics focuses the number of possible speculated targets to a limited set of possibilities.

Stuxnet monitors the current operating frequency of these motors, which must be between 807 Hz and 1210 Hz, before Stuxnet modifies their behavior. Relative to the typical uses of frequency converter drives, these frequencies are considered very high-speed and now limit the potential speculated targets of Stuxnet... efficient low-harmonic frequency converter drives that output over 600Hz are regulated for export in the United States by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as they can be used for uranium enrichment...

Once operation at those frequencies occurs for a period of time, Stuxnet then hijacks the PLC code and begins modifying the behavior of the frequency converter drives. In addition to other parameters, over a period of months, Stuxnet changes the output frequency for short periods of time to 1410Hz and then to 2Hz and then to 1064Hz. Modification of the output frequency essentially sabotages the automation system from operating properly. Other parameter changes may also cause unexpected effects.

Awesome.

Like 'the arrival of an F-35 fighter jet on a World War I battlefield'

German cyber security expert Ralph Langner reported Friday that the infamous Stuxnet computer worm was specifically designed to target two Iranian nuclear capabilities.

Langner said Stuxnet contained two distinct "digital warheads," specifically designed to attack military targets: Uranium enrichment plants and the Bushehr nuclear power plant.

Langner said that the portion of the worm that targeted Uranium enrichment plants manipulated the speeds of mechanical parts in the enrichment process, which would ultimately "result in cracking the rotor, thereby destroying the centrifuge."

He said the strategic importance of such an attack is that it was able to "attack and destroy centrifuge facilities that are unknown to IAEA inspectors and the world," saying that this was likely the main goal of the worm's first "warhead."

The second "warhead" targeted the Bushehr nuclear plant [by attacking] the external turbine controller of the Bushehr plant, a 150 foot "chunk of metal," that could "destroy the turbine as effectively as an air strike."

Praising the sophistication of the attack code, Langner said, "it is obvious that several years of preparation went into the design of this attack." Describing the technological advancement it represents, he compared it to "the arrival of an F-35 fighter jet on a World War I battlefield." He called the technology, "much superior to anything ever seen before, and to what was assumed possible."

Faster, please.

Great News: After Number of Federal Workers Earning $150K a Year Rose 1,300%, White House Panel Proposes 3-Year Wage Freeze... For Military

The growth in salaries for federal workers during the Great Dempression is something that must be seen to be believed.

The number of federal bureaucrats earning over $150K annually grew 1,300% -- that's more than an order of magnitude -- while those making $180K or more rocketed by 2,100%.

But those Americans who serve and those in harm's way are in for quite a different salary treatment.

A presidential commission on reducing the deficit has recommended freezing basic military pay and housing allowances for three years starting in 2011, according to a draft report of the commission’s recommendations posted online Wednesday.

“A three-year freeze at 2011 levels for these compensation categories would save the federal government $7.6 billion in compensation and tax expenditures, as well as another $1.6 billion in less retirement accrual, or $9.2 billion total discretionary savings in 2015,” it said.

Consider: the White House had no problem whatsoever in jamming through about $100 billion in payouts to the UAW auto companies.

And $860 billion in "Stimulus", tens of billions more in "Cash-for-Clunkers", "Weatherization" programs, "Green Jobs" and every other sort of boondoggle imaginable.

But when it comes to $9.2 billion -- total -- from 2011 to 2015 to pay for wage and housing increases for our men and women who serve, well that's just too damn much.

The Democrats can't afford it, you see. They've got other, higher priorities. Like amnesty and chain migration to bring in millions of new voters, the impact of which could reach the trillions of dollars.

But that's the modern Democrat Party in action. Trillions for illegals; nothing for the U.S. military.

Best Idea Ever: Bomb-Sniffing Pigs in Airports

An anonymous commenter offers one of the best ideas since the invention of the spork.

If U.S. bomb sniffing dogs were good enough to provide recon, prior to Obama's trip to India they should be used in Airports.

If there is a shortage of trained dogs to sniff bombs or bomb-making material, pigs are intelligent and very fast learners and should also be employed.

Mark Levin: "A Society Has To Be Insane..."

This is Cub Reporter Biff Spackle's transcription of the opening segment of The Mark Levin Show, 12 November 2010, click for MP3 download):

Something is happened in the last few days that's gone largely unnoticed. It's right in front of us, and everyone is talking around it, but no one is talking about it in a direct way.

Every single commentator, left, right and in between, is saying that our government does not work. I haven't heard anyone say that government is efficient; that government is doing what it's supposed to do; that government is terrific; no one.

Now this government, in so many ways, is not the government of our Constitution, is it? It is a massive, centralized vacuum that is sucking up pieces of our liberty, large and small, in a thousand different ways.

Unlimited Power

There's little this government does not do, and cannot do, if those in power want to do it. Given that the government is many times larger and more powerful than the Framers ever imagined... given that the Statists, with a short respite here and there, have had their way for the last 75 years... isn't it clear that the government they've created is defective?

The Statists themselves complain that despite the New Deal, the Square Deal, the Fair Deal, the Great Society and Obama Marxism... despite trillions and trillions of dollars... despite massive bureaucratic agencies... despite telephone books full of regulations... it doesn't work.

Despite Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid... despite government schools, government houses, government meals... despite the progressive income tax, the death tax, business taxes... it's not working.

And yet they demand more of the same. More government. More programs. More spending. More taxes. More debt.

75 Years

Even though the Statist model has failed over the course of three-fourths of a century in this country -- by their own admission! -- they insist that we ignore the evidence, reason, experience, and history... and continue on their path. Except, rather than moving gradually, that we continue on this path at breakneck speed.

Now, it is the Statist that has bankrupted the nation. It is the Statist who has destroyed the very entitlements they created, just as Ponzi and Madoff created "investments" and destroyed them too. It is the Statist that controls government-run education and has driven down the quality of education.

Even the Decifit Commission's report is at least a recognition that Statism has failed, although the report largely leaves the Statists in charge and their bureaucratic monuments in place.

The Statist argues against cuts... and for more of the same... while admitting that they failed.

A society has to be insane to continue to follow them and their course. Where does the Statist approach ultimately take us? When we will know that this Utopia they promise us exists? When will we know that it has been realized?

What Constrains Them?

What are the limits on the power that this government -- that we're creating every single day -- has over us? Since the Constitution, we're told, really doesn't apply any more. Pretty scary, isn't it?

You see, we conservatives seek to work within a Constitutional system that they abuse, and even reject. So it's not really a fair fight, is it? No, it's not. They use unconstitutional and extra-Constitutional methods against us. And we continue to abide by the Constitution to defend ourselves.

Now, what is a "moderate" or a "centrist" under these circumstances? That is, politicians or professors or writers or even political activists who choose not to take sides, but claim to be "moderates" or "centrists". What are they, really? Well, they're appeasers.

When you face a soft tyranny that uses extra-Constitutional and unconstitutional means to continue to drive a stake through the heart of this country, and you claim to be a "moderate" or a "centrist", then you're an appeaser. You're a quisling.

They reject the Constitution or evade it. They seek to institutionalize their models, their viewpoints, in lieu of the Constitution. And that's the difference.

Now you can hear today, Nancy Pelosi saying no deal on taxes, no deal on cutting. Why is that she, and they, are never required to lay out exactly what they stand for? Now, we know what they stand for, but shouldn't they be required to tell us their beliefs... the extent to which our private property will be taken from us, the extent to which our liberty will be taken from us, and what this new government -- that they are pushing for relentlessly -- is going to look like?

Why aren't they required to lay out their pledge and their plan, rather than go out each day and try to undermine this society as they do? And the answer is really quite simple: they can't.

They are driving this society over the cliff, some of them because they really want to drive it over the cliff, some because are rote, some of them because they put politics ahead of country, but they're driving us in the same direction nonetheless. Over the cliff.

The House Is Not Nearly Enough

This is why all their talk about "oh, we'll push off the age increase on Social Security to 2075", while they mean to pocket all of the resources now, is disastrous. If we do not change the unconstitutional and extra-Constitutional aspects of this society, how is anything going to change? They're not going to change. I'm also practical enough to realize that -- hopefully -- we conservatives control the House, but we do not control the Senate, the White House, and we do not control the fourth branch of government.

The White House controls the administrative state, the fourth branch of government, entities like the EPA or the other monstrosities. And they can use them against us. And they will.

The House, hopefully, will pass legislation that advances the cause of Constitutionalism and liberty. So what do we need to do, you and me? We're not elected officials. Well, in addition to keeping the pressure on, we need to continue our role -- informing our fellow citizens -- because there are future elections and we must win them... with conservatives in primaries.

We must continue to spread the word about where we stand. We are for a society that nurtures the individual, we are for a society that accepts the limits on government, we are for a society that promotes and rewards success, we are for a society that creates opportunities for everybody.

Versus a bleak, iron-fisted, defective, bloated, centralized model that fails everywhere's it's tried. We must continue to spread the word. It is our only hope.

Our Mission Must Continue, Relentlessly and Tirelessly

Liberty is never safe from tyranny. Let me repeat that. Liberty is never safe from tyranny. We have masterminds all over our government, who pay others outside in government-like organizations, to promote Utopian schemes that have -- at their core -- having control over you.

I don't care what sort of Utopian societies you've read about or heard about, they all have a similar thread. That common thread is: control over the individual. We hear these phrases like "shared sacrifice" -- the individual is required to surrender his heart and his mind and his soul for "the greater good". One way or another. That's what they preach, one way or another.

So we have no choice, if we want to live as free people. And if we want our children and grandchildren to live as free people. We continue to spread the word. And people who want to negotiate with this Statist forces or ignoring 75 years of American history. Negotiatie for what? With what? Listen to them: they just got their asses kicked in a historic election -- and they're trying to control the agenda!

We Must Defeat Them

Then we must defeat them. We have only one part of an elected branch of government. And we're going to hold their feet to the fire. But we need more. We need to take over the entire government. And, unlike the Left, we'll do so in a Constitutional and legal way. Not by dumbing down the voting system, not by changing citizenship in order to import liberal Democrats, no. We'll do it the right way.

But ladies and gentlemen, make no mistake about it: this is a battle between liberty and tyranny. All the phony moderates and centrists who tell you to just relax, to pace yourselves, I say -- be more resolute than ever before.

Oh, This is Rich: HuffPo Nut Can't Remember When Members of Congress Ever Met With Foreign Leaders Against the Will of the White House

Some crackpot named Amanda Terkel, writing at the execrable Stuffington Roast, is shocked -- shocked! -- that a member of the the House majority met with the Israeli P.M.

Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday during a meeting in New York that the new GOP majority in the House will "serve as a check" on the Obama administration, a statement unusual for its blunt disagreement with U.S. policy delivered directly to a foreign leader...

...Ron Kampeas from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency news agency found Cantor's comments extremely surprising, writing, "I can't remember an opposition leader telling a foreign leader, in a personal meeting, that he would side, as a policy, with that leader against the president. Certainly, in statements on one specific issue or another -- building in Jerusalem, or somesuch -- lawmakers have taken the sides of other nations. But to have-a-face to face and say, in general, we will take your side against the White House -- that sounds to me extraordinary."

What a tool.

It's certainly easy to forget this meeting of Democrat Chris Dodd (D-CT) with Syrian dictator-slash-Iranian-terror puppet Bashar Assad against the wishes of the Bush White House.

Or this meeting between the pathetic John Kerry (D-MA) and Assad.

Or the time that the disgraceful Bill Nelson (D-FL) met with Assad.

And who could forget this meeting between Stretch Pelosi and Assad?

Not only did Democrat leaders meet with the head of the terror-state; not only did they fly across the globe to meet; but they also did so in the midst of the Iraqi conflict in which:

Syria was secretly building its own nuclear facility (later destroyed by the Israelis, thankfully)...

• Credible military reports stated that Assad was (and is still) holding Saddam Hussein's WMDs...

• And, worst of all, Syria was actively exporting weapons to Iraq's insurgents during the war that were used to kill American troops.

In a late update to the article, however, Terkel happens to remember one of many visits by Democrat leaders to express support for Syria's terror-state, but only to attempt to point out GOP "hypocrisy".

Yes, dimwit, because Syria -- a puppet of Iran -- was and is a known terror-state and avowed enemy of the U.S. Its support for Hezbollah, for instance, was also instrumental in the bombing that killed 241 U.S. Marines.

Not that you'd remember any of that, "Terkel" -- if that is your name.

High School Yearbook, 1942 -- When Everyone Was a Teabagger

Happened to spot a 1942 high school yearbook on an acquaintance's bookshelf and was fascinated by what I discovered therein. In short, patriotism -- Tea Party style patriotism -- was highlighted throughout, due in no small part to the attack on Pearl Harbor and the full-throated, national effort to save civilization.

Self-reliance, America's founding, and our country's exceptionalism were top of mind. Of course, this was before the teachers' unions and the federal government took hold, with an iron-fisted grip, of the educational system.

Today's Tea Party members are indistinguishable from the mainstream Americans of 1942.

And our challenges -- the destruction of the dollar, the acolytes of Alinsky in control of the Democrat Party, and the rise of Red China -- are no less daunting, only this time they come from without and from within.

How the sheer idiocy of the NRSC, John Cornyn, Whimsy Graham and Karl Rove cost the GOP as many as five Senate seats

The National Republican Senatorial Committee spent $3 million in the week before the election on the ill-fated campaign of Carly Fiorina, despite polling that showed her trailing by 9 points to the tiny Marxist Barbara Boxer (Fiorina ended up losing by... 9.8%).

In the mean time, Ken Buck lost by a tiny margin in Colorado; Nevada's Sharron Angle lost by a similar narrow vote total, Dino Rossi was edged by Patty Murray in Washington, 27,000 votes swung the election against Christine O'Donnell in Delaware and and Joe Miller is hanging by a thread in Alaska.

In Alaska, the final results may not be known for some time, but the NRSC's final ads actually ended up helping Lisa Murkowski in her write-in campaign against GOP nominee Joe Miller. Instead of attacking Murkowski -- the candidate who most threatened the party's nominee -- the NRSC instead took aim at Democrat Scott McAdams, who had no chance of winning. Any support they drove from McAdams was far more likely to go to Murkowski than to Miller -- meaning the NRSC effort probably did more harm than good for Miller's campaign.

In other words, the NRSC's idiocy -- combined with outrageous remarks by Karl Rove on national television -- likely doomed four or five true conservative candidates to extinction.

In the post-election debrief, the Nixonian RINO contingent of Whimsy Graham, John Cornyn and the rest of the NRSC's ludicrous cadre of losers blamed... staunch conservative Jim DeMint, who had funded a handful of Tea Party-backed Senatorial winners like Pat Toomey (PA), Marco Rubio (FL), Rand Paul (KY), Mike Lee (UT) and Ron Johnson (WI).

Oh, but that $8 million spent on Fiorina's campaign didn't hurt at all -- right, boys?

I know one thing: that $3 million spent in the final weeks on those five campaigns could have swung four or five seats to the GOP. But the idiots at the NRSC are selfish, insular Beltway Republicans who are wedded to the status quo.

News flash, boys: we just stamped expiration dates on your foreheads.

Lessons learned

Give directly to conservative candidates -- and don't send even a dime to the NRSC or any of Karl Rove's pathetic groups (e.g., "American Crossroads" -- or, as I like to call it, "American Double-Crossers").

You can and should support the PACs of true conservatives like Jim DeMint, such as The Senate Conservatives Fund.

As for you, Whimsy Graham -- I can't wait until 2014. I will come to South Carolina, I will do whatever it takes to help defeat you in the primary.

Is Karl Rove Worth 27,000 votes?

Check out the final vote totals from Delaware.

A swing of only 27,000 votes would have tilted the race towards Tea Party favorite Christine O'Donnell.

And recall that O'Donnell -- from the moment she won the GOP primary -- was immediately kneecapped by the Republican establishment.

I just finished watching Karl Rove trashing GOP Senate primary winner Christine O’Donnell. It was on Sean Hannity’s FNC show. Might as well have been Olbermann on MSNBC. The establishment Beltway strategist couldn’t even bother with an obligatory word of congratulations for O’Donnell. He criticized her “character” and “rectitude” and claimed she hadn’t answered questions about her financial woes. She did so here. Rove mocked her security concerns as “nutty.” Yet, her concerns have been more than justified. See here (second video clip).

Rove came across as an effete sore loser instead of the supposedly brilliant and grounded GOP strategist that he’s supposed to be. Expect more Washington Republicans to start sounding like Tea Party-bashing libs as their entrenched incumbent friends go down.

How many voters were influenced by Rove's crazed attacks?

More than 27,000?

The GOP establishment is a disgrace. As we shall see in the weeks and months ahead, they represent nothing less than an anachronism. They're antiques. And, if they can't get with the program, they're going to be crushed like eggshells in future elections.

InTrade's odds for Angle are dropping as we speak, which means the union bosses are pulling an Al Franken -- and ripping off the electorate once again.

Sharron Angle needs your help now.

Nevadans: if you haven't voted, run -- don't walk -- to the polls. If you have friends in the N.V., call 'em all and make sure they've voted. Haven't you -- or they -- had enough of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid economy?

Every Vote Counts: Latest Intrade Data Has GOP Picking Up 8 Senate Seats, With 12 Still In Reach

The prediction market InTrade has an impressive -- but not perfect -- record at forecasting elections.

The latest numbers for the Senate show eight pickups for the GOP with three or four more possible.

California's 18 is misleading: the number has swung wildly throughout the campaign season and promises to do so leading up til Tuesday given the breaking reports that Boxer used her position to airdrop $8 million to her son.

The numbers represent, essentially, the percentage of probability and range from 0 to 100, with the latter number indicating a virtual lock.

52 -- Democrats to control the Senate after 2010 Congressional Elections
41 -- AK Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Miller) to win
98 -- AR Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Boozman) to win +1
18 -- CA Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Fiorina) to win
65 -- CO Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Buck) to win +1
98 -- CT Senate -- Democrat Party candidate (Blumenthal) to win
91 -- DE Senate -- Democrat Party candidate (Coons) to win
90 -- FL Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Rubio) to win
67 -- IL Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Kirk) to win +1
95 -- IN Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Coats) to win +1
95 -- KY Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Paul) to win
94 -- MO Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Blunt) to win
74 -- NV Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Angle) to win +1
97 -- ND Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Kirk) to win +1
91 -- PA Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Toomey) to win +1
69 -- WA Senate -- Democrat Party candidate (Murray) to win
73 -- WV Senate -- Democrat Party candidate (Manchin) to win
90 -- WI Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Johnson) to win +1

All this means is that every... vote... counts. The stakes for this country could not be higher. Don't take anything for granted.

We must send wave after wave after wave of patriots to the polls early Tuesday morning.

You don't have to storm a beach or drop into the Stan.

You just have to vote. Wake up at 4:00am if you have to. Be the first in line and cast your vote for liberty.

Cognitive Dissonance Comment o' the Day [Rally to Restore Sharia]

Reacting to the post entitled "15 Most Bizarre Photos From Jon Stewart's Rally You'll Never See in Legacy Media"...

...the ubiquitous and courageous commenter named "Anonymous" contributed this gem to the thread:

Looks like some one skipped the day that sarcasm was taught in school.

[***Forehead slap***] I'm so glad the liberals progressives cleared this up.

Death threats and Hitler regalia are signs of sarcasm, not hatred. So this sort of thing is A-okay.

It's sarcasm, rubes.

Update: Dan from New York calls yesterday's hate sarcasm fest the Rally to Restore Sharia:

Did you notice who Stewart and Colbert chose for their show's grand finale? Yusuf Islam, the Artist Previously Known as Cat Stevens. Quite a few good commentators noticed too, starting with Ed Driscoll who has video and links to the others.  In case you forgot, the American convert to Islam endorsed the Ayatollah's fatwah against Salman Rushdie and has been barred from Israel for "transferring donations and funds to Islamic elements which are hostile to Israel," according to Israeli authorities.  All in good fun though - unless you're one of those dumb rightwing racists who can't take a joke.

Update II: The brave, still anonymous commenter offers another clarification.

Since it was my comment that spawned your latest screed ... I'll play a little longer... I posted my comment as "Anonymous" because a few years back, I wrote an OP-ED regarding the Bush administration's unnecessary war in Iraq.

It received lots of angry right wing comment. But, it also led to a right wing nut calling my home and threatening me and my family.

I can tell you are too dense to get it, but many of the people at the rally the other day were MOCKING you ... mocking folks who think that Communism, Fascism, and Socialism are all the same thing.

They were mocking people who babble incoherently that Mao, Stalin, and Hitler were the same as Obama... They were mocking people who bring guns to political rallies to suggest that if they don;t get the political outcomes they want, they may react with "2nd amendment remedies"... They were mocking those who would think that a large man stomping on the head of a small women was justified [Ed: you can see stop-action photos of what really occurred here]

In the end, they were mocking YOU, and you aren't bright enough to recognize it.

I'll say it slowly; do try to follow along. Hitler himself wrote that Nazism was an effort to improve Marxism. Put simply, the philosophies of Marxism, Socialism, Communism and Fascism share many qualities, most importantly their assignation of unlimited power of the state over the individual, ending finally in totalitarianism.

Modern conservatism aligns itself with limiting power granted to the state, which is the framework established by the Constitution. It is the only known antidote to the decline of corrupted governments into tyrannies.

But don't believe me--Hitler himself wrote of Nazism:

"I have learned a great deal from Marxism, as I do not hesitate to admit. The difference between them and myself is that I have really put into practice what these peddlers and penpushers have timidly begun...I had only to develop logically what Social Democracy repeatedly failed in because of its attempt to realize its evolution within the framework of democracy. National Socialism is what Marxism might have been if it could have broken its absurd and artificial ties with the democratic order." -- Hitler to Rauschning, The Voice of Destruction, pg. 186
.
The Nazi Party, is of course, The National Socialist German Workers' Party (German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei abbreviated NSDAP). Now, your course of reading for today is Whom Despots Fear, helpfully illustrated for imbecilic tools who require remedial, comic-book-level education on history, philosophy, law and economics.

Democrat 'Skidmarks in the Skivvies' Watch: Internal Polling Shows Meg Whitman Ahead of Moonbeam

The Snow Report posts the results of the latest internal polling performed in California regarding the gubernatorial race. And the results have likely set off shock waves not only in the Brown camp, but also that of the tiny Marxist, Barbara "Don't call me Ma'am" Boxer.

With 5-days remaining before election-day, the race for governor of California has tightened to a dead heat between Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown. Two separate polls confirm that the race is too close to call. In a survey conducted by Hill Research Consultants among 604 likely voters on October 26th and 27th, the race for governor is tied 43% Whitman to 43% Brown with 4% voting for another candidate and 10% being undecided or refused to respond...

...In a separate McLaughlin & Associates survey conducted among 900 likely voters on October 25th, 26th and 27th (300 each night), Meg Whitman has a slight lead over Jerry Brown 44% to 43% with 6% voting for another candidate and 7% remaining undecided or refused to respond. This neck and neck race represents a marked improvement for Meg Whitman who trailed Jerry Brown from October 17th to 25th in Hill Research Consultant polling, by as much as 7 percentage points at one point.

Early Voting: In McLaughlin & Associates survey of 900 likely voters, the early voting is helping Meg Whitman. As of last night, 25% of the voters say that they have already voted by absentee mail in and among these voters Meg Whitman leads 43% to 40%. There are another 27% who tell us they will vote by early absentee mail between now and Saturday and Meg Whitman wins among those voters 48% to 43%. Among the 43% who tell us that they will vote in person on election day, it’s a virtual tie with Meg Whitman 43% and Jerry Brown 45%.

Californians: do you want the same crackpot who got you into this mess as Governor twice before? Or do you want someone who actually knows how businesses work and what they need to thrive and grow?

The choice is clear, California: save your state. Vote for Meg Whitman and reject the twice-failed Brown who has already proven himself a miserable failure and an economic train-wreck.

Democrat Shart Watch: Internal Polling May Show O'Donnell Ahead

Runner-up headline: Couldn't happen to a nicer bearded Marxist

A Democrat insider reports that the party muckety-mucks are "terrified of her winning." Her being the extremist witch who also happens to be an articulate, attractive, Constitutional conservative who scares the squirtage out of certain bearded Marxists.

HillBuzz via Weasel Zippers reports that internal polling shows that many registered Democrats are voting Republican while registered GOP types aren't returning the favor.

Yesterday, a poll went around showing Christine O’Donnell just five points behind Commie Coons in Delaware’s Senate race. This SORT OF explains the weird amount of time the White House has been spending in a slam dunk blue state.

But, Democrats are ferociously attacking CoD as hard as they attacked Scott Brown in Massachusetts. If she is so far behind, what is the point in beating up on this woman?

This is anecdotal, but I think I know why they are doing this... there are internals showing O’Donnell ahead.

Today I talked to a friend from Team Hillary who is a big Dem fundraiser. He told me that for the last week or so the DNC has been at DEFCON 1 leaning HARD on the rainmakers because they are terrified of a CoD win in Delaware.

The problem is some internal poll that apparently shows that a high percentage of Democrats early voting are voting straight ticket Republican instead…they are Democrats voting against Democrats.

I am still [a] registered Democrat here in Chicago and I voted straight ticket Republican except for Tom Dart for Sheriff because I know and like him. Other than that, it was all Republican. But, in terms of early voting stats, I was a Democrat early vote on paper.

The media is not factoring people like me into the equation... So someone at the DNC came up with a formula that takes all of this into account…and when THAT formula is applied to the Delaware race, CoD is ahead.

And that terrified the DNC enough to send the SOS to the big money guys like my friend for a Hail Mary pass.

Blue on blue carnage. Hate when that happens.
