Now THIS is speaking truth to power: Rep. Trey Gowdy calls Nancy Pelosi "mind-numbingly stupid"

I don't know this Trey Gowdy fellow, but I like the cut of his jib.

On Thursday, Nancy Pelosi had this to say about the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee's move to vote Eric Holder in contempt of Congress:

They’re going after Eric Holder because he is supporting measures to overturn these voter suppression initiatives in the states...

...Suffice it to say, at least one member of the House strongly disagreed, and offered this epic response.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) yesterday called House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi “mind-numbingly stupid” and said that there is something medically wrong with her brain because she believes Republicans are unfairly targeting Attorney General Eric Holder... "I don’t know what was wrong with her yesterday or today or whenever she said that, but I would schedule an appointment with my doctor if she thinks that we are doing this to suppress votes this fall. That is mind-numbingly stupid."

No, Trey. She just sounds mind-numbingly stupid. She keeps repeating these falsehoods because that's what evil people do. It's called "The Big Lie." She's both dishonest and evil.

The day before, she'd also claimed that, as Speaker, she had the power to arrest and imprison Karl Rove. This kind of inanity is so outrageous that even her hometown newspaper, The San Francisco Chronicle, all but called her an unhinged kook "living on the far-left fringe" of American politics.

Gowdy, on the other hand, is a man who truly speaks truth to power.

His questioning of Eric Holder is one for the ages.

Allen West Commemorates Flag Day: "This We'll Defend"

Earlier today, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) commemorated Flag Day.

Today marks the 237th birthday of the United States Army as well as the celebration of our Stars and Stripes, Flag Day.

The Army is the largest and oldest established branch of the United States military, with a primary mission 'to fight and win our Nation’s wars by providing prompt, sustained land dominance across the full range of military operations and spectrum of conflict in support of combatant commanders.'

I can still remember the details of the day that I was sworn in as an Army Second Lieutenant in 1982. I remember the pride I felt wearing our nation's uniform and the feeling that I was a part of something larger than myself. I knew it was an honor, a privilege, and a responsibility...and I was committed to it wholeheartedly, just as thousands of men and women volunteer to commit themselves today, not because they are forced to, but beacuse they truly want to serve their nation.

It is fitting that the Army's birthday also falls on Flag Day, as the Army's motto is 'This We'll Defend.' If it weren't for our brave soldiers defending our nation for the past 237 years, there would be no freedom to fly our flag. In fact, there would be no flag at all.

'This We'll Defend' represents the spirit of our Army, in that there is no 'I' or 'Me', but 'We'. As soldiers, we are unified to further a mission. On the 237th birthday of the Army and on the celebration of Flag Day, let us as Americans recommit ourselves to the spirit of the Army, that 'We' are stronger united than divided, and working together, 'We' as Americans will always prevail."

Amen, brother.

"Represent or be gone"

Ripped from BS Footprint:

All my life I've heard about our leaders. About failures of leadership. About the need for electing leaders.

Bulls***.

This is a representative republic with democratically elected representatives.

Children need to be led. Cattle need to be led. Pack animals need to be led.

Free people don't need or want to be led.

So Represent. Or Be Gone.

I can't add anything to that.

All the President's Leaks [Updated]

Update on 6/9/2012: To avoid a special prosecutor, the Department of Justice has assigned two U.S. attorneys to investigate the leaks.

It is increasingly likely that President Obama is responsible for the most catastrophic leaks of national security secrets since Bill Clinton sold classified missile technologies to the Chinese in exchange for campaign cash. Please consider the following stories, all of which are from the last few months alone:

Obama leaked national security secrets to speed production of a movie about the Bin Laden hit

"These documents, which took nine months and a federal lawsuit to disgorge from the Obama administration, show that politically-connected film makers were giving extraordinary and secret access to bin Laden raid information, including the identity of a Seal Team Six leader ... It is both ironic and hypocritical that the Obama administration stonewalled [the] pursuit of the bin Laden death photos, citing national security concerns, yet seemed willing to share intimate details regarding the raid to help Hollywood filmmakers release a movie ‘perfectly timed to give a home-stretch boost’ to the Obama campaign."

Even CNN concerned that Obama leaked details of Stuxnet cyber attack

"The level of detail spilling out through media reports about crucial national security operations is raising the question of whether President Barack Obama’s administration can keep a secret – or in some cases even wants to... In just the past week, two tell-all articles about Obama’s leadership as commander-in-chief have been published, dripping with insider details about his sleeves-rolled-up involvement in choosing terrorist targets for drone strikes and revelations about his amped-up cyber war on Iran... 'This is unbelievable … absolutely stunning,' a former senior intelligence official said about the level of detail contained in the cyberattack story... The article 'talks about President Obama giving direction for a cyberweapons attack during a time of peace against a United Nations member state.'"

Obama officials disclosed identity of jailed Pakistani doctor who helped locate Bin Laden

"Dr. Shakil Afridi ran a vaccination program for the CIA to collect DNA and verify bin Laden's presence at the compound in the town of Abbottabad where U.S. commandos killed the Al Qaeda chief in a May 2011 raid... The operation outraged Pakistani officials, who portrayed it as an act of treachery by a supposed ally. [Rep. Peter] King, R-N.Y., said administration officials talked about the doctor and his DNA sampling... The doctor was sentenced to 33 years in prison on Wednesday for conspiring against the state -- a verdict officials said is likely to further strain the country's relationship with Washington... The first reference to Dr. Afridi appears to be in a July 2011 story in the Guardian newspaper."

Former Marine Strike Planner Slams Obama's Azerbaijan Leak

"Four senior American diplomats -- most likely in the State Department -- as well as senior intelligence officers appear to have leaked a key military relationship between Azerbaijan and Israel... This leak destroyed any capability of a surprise attack by Israel using these bases. And it came from Obama administration officials...

You have to ask for the motivation behind the leak. I mean, if the Israelis can do this operation, it's to our benefit! From a diplomatic standpoint, if you wanted to tell the Iranians that the Israelis did this, it's without our permission. And then try to butter up the Iranians after the strike, so they don't close the Strait of Hormuz, that's one thing.

But giving away all of the secrets of an ally? When you're doing that, you have to ask whether we still have Israel as an ally. We are not acting like an ally. In fact, if you ask me, based on the amount of time I expect the Israelis put in this relationship with Azerbaijan, I would start viewing this administration as an existential threat to Israel.
"

Hillary Clinton brags about hacking Al Qaeda websites to counter propaganda

"In a rare public admission of the covert cyber war against extremists, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says cyber experts based at the State Department hacked Yemeni tribal websites, replacing Al Qaeda propaganda that bragged about killing Americans...

...Highlighting the government’s use of “smart power” to fight extremists, Clinton said that military and civilian specialists around the world are focused on pre-empting, discrediting, and outmaneuvering extremist propaganda. Calling them “a digital outreach team,” Clinton said the specialists are fluent in Urdu, Arabic, and Somali. The group is “already patrolling the web and using social media and other tools to expose al Qaeda’s contradictions and abuses, including its continuing brutal attacks on Muslim civilians."

Great work, Hill. Thanks for exposing all of the classified work.

And where is the cacophony of idiots at Vanity Fair and The New York Times-Democrat, which devoted hundreds upon hundreds of column-inches to Valerie Plame?

Oh, that's right. Old media is bleeding out as we speak.

Do Republicans still control the House of Representatives?

Where are the f***ing subpoenas? Lives hang in the balance! Our warriors and intelligence operators are at risk! A Pakistani doctor who helped track down Bin Laden will spend 33 years in prison -- if he survives at all! Top Secret information is being leaked to dimwits in Hollywood in order to speed production of a movie that will lionize Barack Obama... just before the election!

I urge you to call Buck McKeon, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee at (202) 225-4151. Demand an explanation. Where are the freaking subpoenas for all of these leaks? These are high crimes. Treasonous crimes. And people need to go to prison.

Two speeches on D-Day

On 6 June 1984, on the cliffs of Normandy, President Ronald Reagan honored the sacrifice of the hundreds of thousands of Allied soldiers, sailors and airmen who participated in D-Day. Many veterans of that day attended the speech, while thousands of other heroes never left France, having paid the ultimate price to defend liberty. During his career in politics, Reagan gave many great speeches, but none perhaps as moving as that which he delivered on the 40th anniversary of D-Day.

...The men of Normandy had faith that what they were doing was right, faith that they fought for all humanity, faith that a just God would grant them mercy on this beachhead or on the next. It was the deep knowledge -- and pray God we have not lost it -- that there is a profound, moral difference between the use of force for liberation and the use of force for conquest. You were here to liberate, not to conquer, and so you and those others did not doubt your cause. And you were right not to doubt.

You all knew that some things are worth dying for. One's country is worth dying for, and democracy is worth dying for, because it's the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man. All of you loved liberty. All of you were willing to fight tyranny, and you knew the people of your countries were behind you.

On 6 June 2012, President Barack Obama did not bother to commemorate D-Day. He did, however, fly to Hollywood to attend six separate fundraisers, including one that featured Cher in the front row of the audience.

President Obama had one of the biggest star-studded fundraising nights of his re-election campaign last night, less than a month after he attended a celebrity fundraiser hosted by George Clooney in May... Obama attended two LGBT (Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender) events - one in San Francisco and one in Los Angeles - that featured Hollywood stars Ellen DeGeneres, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon and Glee actors Jane Lynch and Darrin Criss.

According to The Los Angeles Times, Obama has now held 150 fundraisers, more than the five previous presidents combined.

Obviously the president had more important things to do than commemorate the invasion of D-Day and those who fought, bled and died to defeat the scourge of Nazism. Those heroes didn't even merit a mention by the president.

Why are businesses not investing in new jobs? Ohio Governor John Kasich explains why the Obamaconomy is devastating to business

Wisconsin's Scott Walker is not the only Republican Governor doing a bang-up job in the so-called "Rust Belt". Ohio's John Kasich has also revitalized the Buckeye State in spite of the ongoing Obama depression. When asked recently why businesses aren't investing in new jobs, Kasich's answer was both accurate and poignant.

There's so much uncertainty.

This national debt is growing and they can't seem to get anything done whatsoever in Washington, which tells business people to look out for a big fat tax increase.

They're talking about raising the taxes on capital gains and then you have Obamacare. And if you're a small businessperson, you have no clue how you're going to deal with the unfunded costs of Obamacare. Then you have Dodd-Frank financial reform legislation and no one knows what the rules are you going to be.

Let's just take you and I. If you and I are going to invest in a business, but we don't know what the rules are going to be, we're likely to just wait. And that's what's happening right now.

It's extremely frustrating to me. At the end of the day, and this is a totally unrealistic thing, but wouldn't it be great if the Congress and the President got together and sat down and said, "We've got a crisis here." I mean, Rome is on fire. And it's singeing places like Ohio. I'm very concerned about it. We've been making great progress... but the headwinds, they're kicking up again.

We [in Ohio] finally got out of an $8 billion hole, and we build up a rainy day fund, and we have people in the legislature saying, 'let's just go spend it.' I mean, are you kidding me? ...It's very disappointing to see [the president unable to act]... as someone who was there when we got something done there, I just look at this and just shake my head. [It's] just dysfunctional.

Ohio erased an $8 billion budget deficit, the largest in history. It cut taxes -- including killing the death tax (get it?) -- by $800 million. It brought sunlight and transparency to the budgeting process. And in response, S&P and Moody's both upgraded Ohio's credit rating while while downgrading the United States under Obamanomics.

Methinks we need more straight-shooters like Kasich and Walker in Washington.

Civility: Progressive kook pushes World War II vet while screeching "f*** you" to him at Allen West town-hall

The word disgusting doesn't begin to describe the actions of these progressive loons -- especially seeing as how we're just hours after Memorial Day.

The scene: a town-hall event for Rep. Allen West. At the behest of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz or her ilk, progressives make a make a habit of targeting West because they hate the Constitution and they despise America*. They know that West stands for both -- and, unlike these punks, he's put his life on the line protecting their right to protest him.

In what appears to be the aftermath of a town-hall, several World War II vets stand up for West as a couple of the moonbats try to insult him.

Instead of honoring their service, the liberals go after these heroes, to the point of putting hands on one while dropping the f-bomb on him.

Because that's the way liberals roll, don't ya know?

These progressives disgust me. They ought to hang their heads in shame, but that would require the capability of actually feeling shame.

Take heart, patriots, because November is coming.

* Sorry, drones, but you can't love America and support a presidential candidate who repeatedly promises to 'fundamentally transform' it, as Barack Obama did.

Ruh Roh: Obama up by 7... in Arkansas Democrat PRIMARY

Apparently, Arkansas Democrats couldn't find a convicted felon to run against Obama like they did in West Virginia. But they found the next best thing: a lawyer:

A new poll of Arkansas Democrats shows Barack Obama receiving support from only 45 percent of Democratic primary voters in Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District, while 38 percent support his underfunded and relatively unknown primary challenger, Tennessee lawyer John Wolfe, Jr. Seventeen percent are undecided in the district poll.

...Wolfe predicted that the voters would move his way in the final days before the May 22 primary, despite his shoestring campaign budget. “There’s not been a single TV ad. There’s not been a single radio ad,” he said.

...Wolfe has criticized Obama for being too close to Wall Street and its interests (for example, Obama’s latest fundraiser with private equity lenders last night in New York City) and seeks to be a more principled Democrat than the 44th president.

Wolfe also said he supports repealing the president's signature legislation, Obamacare, which he says doesn’t lower health care costs even if the White House claims otherwise.

As Mike Flynn reports, one word describes the current state of the Obama campaign: Panic.

We've been treated to a mythical GOP "war on women", a "debate" on birth control, a "road to Damascus" moment on gay marriage, an "expose" of Romney "bullying" in high school, and the burning question of who is a better pet owner. Unfortunately for Obama and his allies in the media, none of it is working...

...All that said, it's what the Obama campaign tried to do proactively yesterday that convinces me they are in full panic... Yesterday, the Obama campaign tried to attack Romney's business experience with an ad focusing on steelworkers who lost their job when their company, GST Steel, went bankrupt. GST Steel was controlled by Romney's former firm, Bain Capital. The story of GST Steel has already been told at least twice; by Ted Kennedy in 1994 and Newt Gingrich in this year's primary. Every time, it has been pointed out that the bankruptcy occurred two years after Romney left Bain Capital. So, as hits go, its pretty weak stuff.

It was the opening salvo in what is expected to be a sustained attack on Romney's experience in private equity. So, what did Obama do after he launched this attack on private equity? He, of course, jetted to New York for a fundraiser with private equity traders... Even the palace guards at Business Insider noticed the bad optics

...Remember that at the end of last week, when the news was supposed to be about gay marriage and Romney "bullying" a possibly gay student in high school, Rasmussen showed Romney handily beating Obama in a general election match-up. Romney had not only withstood the full barrage of the Democrat-Media complex, he improved his standing with likely voters. That's when the panic set in.

...Yesterday's Bain hit was a rushed retread of an already discredited attack. The Obama campaign tried to push it with a hastily arranged media conference call scheduled for 10:45 am EDT, late into the news cycle. If this were a well-planned hit, the call would have been much earlier or one or two media outlets would have been fed information for corroborating stories... Yes, it is only May and polls are just polls. It will be a long campaign through the Fall, with many twist and turns. But, the events of the past 24 hours suggest that Obama is already losing control of the campaign narrative.

Let's not get cocky. We have miles to go.

November is coming. And America is not going down without a fight.

Arthur Brooks: the Proper Role of Government in a Single Chart

The brilliant Arthur Brooks offers us the following flowchart that should be taught in every one of America's schools and colleges.

There are instances when markets fail and do not correct themselves. At that point, some government action might be warranted. But how do we make that call?

In The Road to Freedom, I provide the chart below to answer that very question

Simple. Elegant. Straightforward. Just like the United States Constitution, which embraces similar principles to constrain the rise of an authoritarian, centralized, all-powerful government.

Which is why Democrats will hate it.

Shockingly, grassroots support for RINOs evaporates, leaving Dick Lugar grasping at straws (and Leftists)

Four days before the GOP primary, six-term incumbent Dick Lugar (R-IN) is in serious trouble, trailing Tea Party favorite Richard Mourdock by 10 points. Lugar, in his desperation to cling to power, has now turned to insulting Republicans and begging Democrats for support.

But, if he loses the primary, perhaps Lugar can run in the general as a Democrat:

The leftward drift of Democrats in the past couple of decades makes compromise increasingly untenable. Whatever basis there remained for genuine bipartisanship in Congress died during the second Bush term. The 2006 election brought into office a crowd of Democrats beholden to the far left, demanding radical measures on every issue from gay rights to global warming to health care. This was bad news for the Arlen Specter/Mike Castle type of “centrist” Republicans, just as it was for the Rick Boucher/Barron Hill type of “Blue Dog” Democrats, who were all but wiped out in 2010.

Liberal media types, always sympathetic to GOP moderates, like to portray the primary defeats of guys like Lugar as indicative of right-wing extremism among the Republican electorate, but the exact opposite it true: The problem is that the Democratic Party’s agenda is now so extreme that any Republican who tries to compromise with the opposition ends up embracing policies rejected by common-sense GOP primary voters.

Worse still, the establishment GOP -- the pretend conservatives like Eric Cantor -- have spent significant dollars trying to shore up Lugar's support. Why? Because they appear to be so out-of-touch with mainstream America and so addicted to power, that they have become infected with the same disease that has poisoned so many politicians.

They are in love with power, not serving the will of the people.

The questions Cantor and Boehner have to ask themselves are obvious:

• Is there some mystical grassroots support for RINOism that I've somehow missed all of these years?

• Has RINOism worked to stop the insane deficit spending of the radical Left?

• Is RINOism going to attract the base that helped orchestrate the 2010 wipeout of the Statist Left?

• Does RINOism address America's most crippling problems, from entitlement reform to a mandatory overhaul of the tax code?

No. No. No. And. No.

Compromise with people who want to "fundamentally transform" America -- i.e., destroy it -- is impossible if we are to honor our highest law, our institutions and traditions.

We must be resolute. We must continue to overthrow the RINOs in the Republican Party and to return the GOP -- and the country -- to its lawful roots. We must force this government to revere the Constitution, above their own petty whims. We must force this government to serve the people, not the other way around.

In November, Messrs. Cantor, Boehner, McConnell and the rest of the RINO panty-waists must be relegated to the back-bencher status they so richly deserve. Their foolhardy maneuvers, cowardice in the face of radical Leftists, and attacks on conservatives are all worthy of utter disdain by Republican voters.

Illustration: The President Honors SEAL Team 6's Need for Anonymity

Our winner: AfterMath, courtesy Laughing Conservative:

Interesting.

Obama taking credit for the Bin Laden hit is like Nixon taking credit for the moon landing

Read, rinse, repeat and forward:

Imagine if President Nixon had decided to base his 1972 re-election campaign on the boast that he landed on the moon. His predecessors tried and failed for eight years. It wasn't an easy decision--what if something went wrong? But that's why you hire a president, to make those gutsy calls. Which path would George McGovern have taken?

That's analogous to President Obama's effort to campaign on the killing of Osama bin Laden. His absurd braggadocio is turning one of the few successes to occur under his leadership into a political liability.

I know this much. The SEALs have had enough.

Navy SEALs blasted Barack Obama for taking credit for the killing of Osama Bin Ladent. One SEAL went as far as to say Obama did not even make the call.

‘In years to come there is going to be information that will come out that Obama was not the man who made the call. “

This was devastating. Leave it to the British press to get to the facts of the matter.

Mitt Romney had a good line when he stated that "even Jimmy Carter" would have ordered the UBL hit. Not only that, even Moonbeam Kucinich would have as well.

And then there's this:

Remember when Obama threatened to prosecute the CIA interrogators whose work led to the Bin Laden killing?

Remember when Obama put three (3) Navy SEALs on trial on the word of a murderous, scumbag al-Qaeda terrorist?

Remember when Obama installed a man who had defended Al Qaeda terrorists as #3 in the Justice Department, in charge of Gitmo terrorist trials?

And remember when Obama denounced the same enhanced interrogation techniques that led trackers to Bin Laden?

There's hypocrisy. There's Democrat hypocrisy. And then there's Obama.

But there's no GOP Establishment: Ludicrous "Young Guns" Back Dick Lugar Over Tea Party Conservative

If you needed additional proof that our current House "leadership" -- including John Boehner and Eric Cantor -- needs to go, I refer you to Exhibit Z:

...Politico’s Maggie Haberman is reporting that the leadership-affiliated Young Guns Network has sent out mailers asking Democrats to vote for Dick Lugar (not exactly a young gun) in the Indiana Republican primary against Richard Mourdock on May 8. But that’s not all. They are stirring up Democrats by referring to Mourdock as extreme. In what way is he extreme? He wants to eliminate the Department of Education!

Do you want to know what is really extreme? The creation of the Department of Education, after surviving almost 200 years without it. Since the DOE was created, the cost of college tuition has increased over 439% adjusted for inflation! The rate of increase is almost exactly commensurate with the rate of growth of DOE subsidization. As you can see from this chart, the government-induced housing bubble pales in comparison to the government-induced Big Education bubble.

Remember that the Department of Education began operating on May 16, 1980. Imagine how extreme the inflation in education costs would have been had the extremists thwarted the creation of the DOE back in 1980? Come to think of it, what would we have done had Dick Lugar failed to vote to create the Department of Green Energy in 1977? I guess that part was left off the mailer.

This is all economics 101 for Republicans, but I guess they feel they can say anything to an audience of Democrats, as long as they serve the purpose of reelecting an 80-year old liberal. The real irony here, as Bill Kristol points out, is that Young Guns was created to “chart a new course for the center-right movement and the House majority.” Lugar is neither new, center-right, or in the House!

The Department of Education has contributed mightily to the explosion in tuition costs. Just as the government's tampering with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac helped cause the housing crash, literally every unconstitutional endeavor in which this federal gaggle of bureaucrats has engaged has ended up in failure. Economist Richard Vedder explains:

When someone else is paying the bills, people want to buy more of the good or service in question at prevailing prices than when the customer pays the bills. This means a higher demand for higher education, and other things being equal, higher tuition costs. … Each one dollar in grant aid leads to tuition fees somewhere around 35 cents higher than would otherwise be the case. Just as third-party payments in medicine have led to escalating health care costs, so increased student financial payments have contributed to soaring tuition costs...

So getting rid of the Department of Education is not only rational, it's what I would call "a good start".

Daniel Horowitz accurately calls this madness from Eric Cantor's "Young Guns" treachery. And he's right.

I urge you to support Richard Mourdock for U.S. Senate. It's time someone put their foot down on the GOP establishment. And that foot is us.

To paraphrase Animal House.

Allen West Locates Real WMDs

I would follow Allen West into battle anytime, anywhere.

Freshman Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) on Wednesday evening likened President Obama's preference for higher tax rates to "tax weapons of mass destruction" that Obama is aiming straight at Middle Americans.

"Although he has never served our country in uniform, or risked his life to defend its freedoms and liberties on distant shores, it seems President Obama understands a thing or two about weaponry," West said on the House floor. "But in the president's case … the current weapon of choice is tax policy, and the enemies are small businesses, investors, entrepreneurs and corporations, who seemingly are deemed undesirable.

"President Obama seems determined to punish and wipe out economic success in this country, leveling tax weapons of mass destruction on all taxpayers."

West said Obama favors the expiration of tax cuts on marginal rates, as well as reducing estate tax exemptions and increasing taxes on capital gains and dividends.

"Next year, unless changes are made to the tax code, America will be bombarded with the heavy artillery of the largest tax increase in the nation's history, causing massive economic injury and destruction," West said.

West also criticized Obama's understanding of tax policy, arguing that increased taxes would do little to reduce the deficit, which he said is caused by overspending. He also said people facing higher taxes would react to these taxes, leading to less new revenue than the Obama administration anticipates.

"The American people … want a constitutional republic, not a socialist, egalitarian welfare nanny state," he concluded. "The American people want an economic future so bright that they will have to wear sunglasses."

Da-yam. I love this man.

In a completely platonic way.

The 7 Reasons You Will Never Be As Cool As John Hawkins #BlogConCLT

The proprietor of Right Wing News and Linkiest is a man named John Hawkins. Hawkins is famous for his catchy headlines, which often come in the form of lists. Like "The 25 Best Quotes From Thomas Sowell". Or "15 Questions The Mainstream Media Would Ask Barack Obama If He Were A Republican."

In that vein, I present the 7 reasons that you (and I) will never be as cool as John Hawkins:

• John Hawkins will walk up to any woman or group of women -- including the stunning Dana Loesch and Katie Pavlich -- and begin chatting them up for photos. I have a vision of Hawkins' foyer that is lined with hundreds of photos of him hugging every woman on the center-right scene.

• John Hawkins knows everyone. He is an uber-networker and can connect you with the full spectrum of conservative thought, from National Review to Breitbart.com.

• John Hawkins is a prolific reader and he takes copious notes. His collections -- like "The 50 Best Ann Coulter Quotes Of All-Time" -- are outstanding.

• John Hawkins is an entrepreneur. He's leveraged his websites as launching points for a writing career, with his columns appearing at Townhall and PJ Media. I wouldn't be shocked to discover that he has a book and syndicated column in the works.

So don't bother trying to be John Hawkins. You can't possibly succeed. It's his world -- and we're just living in it.

The One Graphic You Need to See for 2012

Spotted at Reaganite Republican, via BadBlue, is the ultimate 2012 graphic:

This president has set the country on a course for fiscal apocalypse -- and that is no joke.
