NOW, MORE THAN EVER: "Our Police", by Jack Levin

Given the situation that many -- if not most -- children are being educated in the home, it's imperative that regular Americans use this rare opportunity.

I have a variety of recommendations for kids of all ages, but especially important during these times of Democrat-funded anarchy and terrorism is a basic respect for the institutions of our civil society. Our police, our firefighters and our first responders have enormously difficult jobs to do, even in the best of times.

These are not the best of times. To fight the insane demands and instructions of the teacher's unions (not all members, mind you, but certainly the leadership of Communist front groups like the NEA and AFT), I would suggest reinforcing that sort of respect in our kids.

Our Police, first published in 2018, is intended for ages 4 to 8, preschool to 4th grade, and should be required reading for all kids in this age group. Bestselling author Jack E. Levin, father of multimedia pundit and superstar Mark Levin, both wrote and illustrated this invaluable contribution to the civics education of our youth.

It's inexpensive and compelling. Some kids will want to read it 30 or 40 times with you. If you don't have kids of that age, buy it for grandkids, nieces and nephews, or simply donate it to the local police station or library.

More to come on the education front shortly.

If you ever want to see how insane modern civics education has become, I refer you to a 2018 blog post entitled "TRAVESTY AT MCGRAW-HILL: Third-Grade Civics Textbook Butchers American History. This is the cockamamie crap they're teaching your kids in union-controlled schools.

JAW-DROPPING NEW ENGLAND JOURNAL OF MEDICINE REPORT: School Closures Based on Politics, Not Science

Adapted from a Twitter thread by Newman Nahas

The most important evidence regarding pediatric transmission of COVID-19 comes from Iceland, and their study published in The New England Journal of Medicine.

Be suspicious of any expert ignoring this paper and discussing anecdotes instead.

The data for the study come from Iceland’s systematic screening of its population.

It was based on a population-representative sample (identified without respect to symptomatic status), and a sample based on presence of symptoms.

The study isolated SARS-CoV-2 samples from every positive case, sequenced genome of virus, and tracked the mutation patterns.

This analysis, along with contact tracing, allowed the authors to identify definitively who passed the virus to whom.

TRAVESTY AT MCGRAW-HILL: Third-Grade Civics Textbook Butchers American History

Wondering whether elementary school students are truly indoctrinated in the left wing agenda? Well, wonder no more. They are; and it's worse -- far worse -- than you can possibly imagine.

Consider, if you will, McGraw-Hill's Our Democratic Heritage, a textbook designed for third-graders and published in 2010. If you'd assume that it was intended to teach kids about America's founding and its institutions of government, you'd assume wrong.

THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED: Where Democrats Rule, Citizens Flee

By Timothy H. Lee

"People Moving from New York Outnumber Arrivals by Nearly Two-to-One, Report Says."

That was a recent Albany Times Union headline highlighting the ongoing mass exodus from deep-blue New York:

United Van Lines reported Tuesday that nearly two-thirds of the moves involving New York households were outbound, a higher proportion than any other state except New Jersey and Illinois.  The 2016 National Movers Study by Fenton, Missouri-based United also found that almost 59 percent of the moves within the eastern United States were outbound.  Where were people moving?  Mostly to western states and the Carolinas...  South Dakota had the highest share of inbound moves, at 68 percent.

That exodus pattern isn't limited to the listed states, either.  It's broadly endemic to states where liberals govern.

GEE: I wonder what political party controls the worst states to raise your family?

The big government fanatics at Business Insider have an interesting video purporting to show the "best and worst states to raise your family."

You'll never guess which political party controls the very worst of the very worst states.

Shhh... no one tell the midget economedian Paul Krugman.

DEATH SPIRAL: Are you living in a state poised for economic collapse?

By Mac Slavo

Being on the hook is not going to be pretty when interest rates are raised back up, and debts come due. At a personal level, it will mean more stress and juggling to make ends meet. For the larger economy, it will mean cities and states unable to meet obligations or balance their budgets – ending in bankruptcy, and bailouts. Meanwhile, millions of people are relying on that money to keep coming in order to survive. Something is going to go very wrong.

Relying upon government to function and send you money is not a secure plan.

The mathematics are terrifying and dismal, and so is being caught up in these collapsing states.

FISCAL SUICIDE: Is Obama Opening Up the Federal Spending Floodgates to Get Hillary Elected?

By Jim Quinn

During the last year of his reign of error, our beloved Nobel Peace Prize winner, Obama ran out of government accounting gimmicks to falsely proclaim Federal deficits have been falling. His legacy of debt accumulation will go down in history as the last dying gasps of a crumbling empire built upon Keynesian delusions, political corruption, and a Deep State establishment hellbent upon retaining power at the cost of global war and financial collapse.

The entirely fabricated government propaganda data point known as the Federal deficit skyrocketed by 34% in fiscal 2016 (Federal year is Oct. 1 to Sept. 30). The reported deficit in FY15 was a mere $438 billion. Obama and his brain dead minions had boasted about such a small deficit. The country has been in existence for 227 years and Obama had the balls to boast about “achieving” the 8th highest deficit in our history. Just for some context, the savior also led the country to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th highest deficits in the country’s history. Bumbling Bush achieved the 7th highest in the glorious year of 2008.

Woman of the People Against People's Right to Work

By William Teach

Here’s a question Donald Trump should try and work in to the debate: why is Hillary Clinton against the right to work?

Democrats love to talk about rights. They say people have the “right to affordable health care,” the “right to a debt free college education,” the “right to choose,” and so on.

But there’s one right they apparently want to erase: The right to work.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: Record Number of Tent Cities Springing Up Around the Country

By Michael Snyder

Just like during the last economic crisis, homeless encampments are popping up all over the nation as poverty grows at a very alarming rate. According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, more than half a million people are homeless in America right now, but that figure is increasing by the day. And it isn’t just adults that we are talking about. It has been reported that that the number of homeless children in this country has risen by 60 percent since the last recession, and Poverty USA says that a total of 1.6 million children slept either in a homeless shelter or in some other form of emergency housing at some point last year. Yes, the stock market may have been experiencing a temporary boom for the last couple of years, but for those on the low end of the economic scale things have just continued to deteriorate.

The One Trillion Dollar Consumer Auto Loan Bubble is Perilously Close to Bursting

By Michael Snyder

Do you remember the subprime mortgage meltdown from the last financial crisis? Well, this time around we are facing a subprime auto loan meltdown. In recent years, auto lenders have become more and more aggressive, and they have been increasingly willing to lend money to people that should not be borrowing money to buy a new vehicle under any circumstances. Just like with subprime mortgages, this strategy seemed to pay off at first, but now economic reality is beginning to be felt in a major way. Delinquency rates are up by double digit percentages, and major auto lenders are bracing for hundreds of millions of dollars of losses. We are a nation that is absolutely drowning in debt, and we are most definitely going to reap what we have sown.

The Anti-Cinderella Man (Part I)

By Jim Quinn

There are several movies I will watch every time they are aired on one of my generally useless 600 cable channels. They all have the same thing in common – a compelling character portrayal which keeps you riveted and mesmerized by how the protagonist deals with adversity and circumstances beyond their control. The movies I can’t resist include: The Godfather I & II, The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Apocalypse Now, and Patton. Another captivating movie, which didn’t do well at the box office, is Cinderella Man. The portrayal of Depression era heavyweight boxing champion James J. Braddock by Russell Crowe is inspirational, with a rousing and improbable victory by the champion of the common man. While watching this great movie a few weeks ago I found myself equating the themes to the current presidential campaign.

SHOCKED FACE: Under Obama, National Deficit Skyrockets to Ludicrous Levels, Again

By Timothy H. Lee

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) just revealed that this year's federal budget deficit will rise to $590 billion, a depressing 35% increase over last year's already-high $438 billion:

CBO now estimates that the 2016 deficit will total $590 billion, or 3.2 percent of GDP, exceeding last year's deficit by $152 billion...  The deficit is growing in 2016 because revenues are up only slightly, by less than 1 percent ($26 billion), whereas outlays are projected to rise by 5 percent ($178 billion).

As Barack Obama staggers toward the end of his failed presidency, that marks just the latest milestone in what is perhaps his worst legacy, one that remains grotesquely underreported by the "watchdog" mainstream media.

GEE: I wonder why Hillary won't talk about the economy?

By William Teach

At the end of the day, in virtually every poll, the top issues are the economy, jobs, and wages. This is what Americans truly care about. Bread and butter issues. All the social justice worker stuff is low hanging fruit. Man-induced climate change is typically last or next to last. Most of the things Hillary talks about are low ranking issues.

Why? Because it’s rather hard to make the case to keep doing the same things that have left the economy crippled.

30 Blocks of Hillary and Her Watermelons

By Jim Quinn

I haven’t provided a 30 Blocks of Squalor update in a while, but to my delight none other than Hillary Clinton made an appearance on the 30 Blocks this past week, spurring me to ponder her level of commitment to the black families of West Philly. She gave a stirring anti-capitalism speech at West Philadelphia High School. The purported reason for the rally was a get out the vote event. In the corrupt cesspool of Philadelphia that means having black voters casting more votes for their Democrat candidate than there are registered voters. Obama won 102% of the vote in 2008 and 2012 in West Philly. Hillary should hire the Black Panthers who did such a bang up job encouraging white voter turnout in 2008.

Due to an accident on the Schuylkill Expressway, I happened to drive by West Philly High on the morning of her speech. I had to dodge gaping potholes, ignorant double parked squalorites and SEPTA buses on Chestnut Street while driving my five year old Honda Civic on the 30 Blocks of Squalor to my job. Hillary flew into Philly on a private jet, stepped into a stretch limousine driven by a chauffeur, surrounded herself with dozens of armed Secret Service agents and campaign apparatchiks in black SUVs, and proceeded to create gridlock as traffic laws don’t apply to the ruling elite.

DEMOCRAT PARTY GOES FULL RADICAL NUTJOB: "Most Progressive Platform Our Party Has Ever Seen"

By AR Squared

“Most ambitious and progressive platform our party has ever seen.”

Those are words spoken by Hillary Clinton’s senior policy advisor about the draft of the Democratic Party platform and they should frighten every American that supports free enterprise and a restrained federal government. The platform draft approved by the Democratic drafting committee consisting of both Clinton and Sanders allies includes proposals that will make it more difficult for individuals to break free from government constraints and achieve the American Dream.

There are many dangerous proposals in the Democratic Party’s platform that should raise concern:

30 Blocks of Dog Sh** and Democrats

By Jim Quinn

Earlier this week I left for work on a cool crisp sunny morning at 6:30 am. Traffic seemed lighter than usual. Even the Schuylkill Expressway was moving smoothly. I just knew it was going to be one of those rare 45 minute uneventful commutes. Boy was I mistaken. Half way down the Schuylkill traffic came to a grinding halt. I flipped on the traffic report and found out there was a bad bus accident near Girard Avenue blocking two lanes. My delightful commute had turned into a house of horrors. We inched along at 5 mph for the next five miles.

My Plan B was in effect. I’d get off at Belmont Avenue and take that to Girard Avenue (Route 30) and then down to 34th Street where I usually end up in the morning. Of course, hundreds of other drivers chose the same Plan B. The ramp to get off the Schuylkill and onto Belmont was jammed. I eventually got onto Belmont and proceeded past City Line Avenue and into the jungles of West Philly. My day got even better when there was an accident on Belmont in the right lane that delayed my commute further. But I eventually made it to the intersection of Belmont and Girard, making my left turn into... squalor.

GRIM MILESTONE: More than 100 million working-age Americans do not have jobs

By Michael Snyder

This is exactly what we have been expecting to happen. On Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that the U.S. economy only added 38,000 jobs in May. This was way below the 158,000 jobs that analysts were projecting, and it is also way below what is needed just to keep up with population growth. In addition, the number of jobs created in April was revised down by 37,000 and the number of jobs created in March was revised down by 22,000. This was the worst jobs report in almost six years, and the consensus on Wall Street is that it was an unmitigated disaster.

The New York Times Fails Logic Class, Chapter 46,080

By Karl Denninger

There's an old saying that goes something like this:

"One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results."

That would fit the NY Times editorial board.

Funniest Labor Report Ever

By Jim Quinn

Only a captured government drone could put out a report showing only 38,000 new jobs created, with the working age population rising by 205,000, and have the balls to report the unemployment rate plunged from 5.0% to 4.7%, the lowest since August 2007. If you ever needed proof these worthless bureaucrats are nothing more than propaganda peddlers for the establishment, this report is it. The two previous months were revised significantly downward in the fine print of the press release.

It is absolutely mind boggling that these government pond scum hacks can get away with reporting that 484,000 people who WERE unemployed last month are no longer unemployed this month. Life is so f***ing good in this country, they all just decided to kick back and leave the labor force. Maybe they all won the Powerball lottery. How many people do you know who can afford to just leave the workforce and live off their vast savings?
