Illustration: The President Honors SEAL Team 6's Need for Anonymity

Our winner: AfterMath, courtesy Laughing Conservative:

Interesting.

Obama taking credit for the Bin Laden hit is like Nixon taking credit for the moon landing

Read, rinse, repeat and forward:

Imagine if President Nixon had decided to base his 1972 re-election campaign on the boast that he landed on the moon. His predecessors tried and failed for eight years. It wasn't an easy decision--what if something went wrong? But that's why you hire a president, to make those gutsy calls. Which path would George McGovern have taken?

That's analogous to President Obama's effort to campaign on the killing of Osama bin Laden. His absurd braggadocio is turning one of the few successes to occur under his leadership into a political liability.

I know this much. The SEALs have had enough.

Navy SEALs blasted Barack Obama for taking credit for the killing of Osama Bin Ladent. One SEAL went as far as to say Obama did not even make the call.

‘In years to come there is going to be information that will come out that Obama was not the man who made the call. “

This was devastating. Leave it to the British press to get to the facts of the matter.

Mitt Romney had a good line when he stated that "even Jimmy Carter" would have ordered the UBL hit. Not only that, even Moonbeam Kucinich would have as well.

And then there's this:

Remember when Obama threatened to prosecute the CIA interrogators whose work led to the Bin Laden killing?

Remember when Obama put three (3) Navy SEALs on trial on the word of a murderous, scumbag al-Qaeda terrorist?

Remember when Obama installed a man who had defended Al Qaeda terrorists as #3 in the Justice Department, in charge of Gitmo terrorist trials?

And remember when Obama denounced the same enhanced interrogation techniques that led trackers to Bin Laden?

There's hypocrisy. There's Democrat hypocrisy. And then there's Obama.

Obama Works His Way Down the Wikipedia Definition of Totalitarianism

Funny how liberals try to tar conservatives, Tea Partiers and others who believe in the tenets of America's founding as some sort of nascent fascists.

Because if you go down the official totalitarian checklist, it's the progressive movement that is ticking off the requisite agenda items, one by one.

Totalitarianism (or totalitarian rule) is a political system where the state recognizes no limits to its authority and strives to regulate every aspect of public and private life wherever feasible.[2] Totalitarian regimes stay in political power through an all-encompassing propaganda campaign, which is disseminated through the state-controlled mass media, a single party that is often marked by political repression, personality cultism, control over the economy, regulation and restriction of speech, mass surveillance, and widespread use of terror.

Let's go down the list, shall we? Yes, we can.

• "...where the state recognizes no limits to its authority..." - as I have copiously documented ("President Barack Obama's Complete List of Historic Firsts"), the president recognizes no Constitutional limits on his power. Just a few examples:

In an maneuver unprecedented in American history, Obama declared the Senate in recess over a long weekend to make recess appointments that could never have passed Senatorial scrutiny.

He became the first president to violate the War Powers Act by bombing Libya and claiming NATO was in charge, not him.

In four years, he doubled the debt issued by the United States for all previous presidents combined, which resulted in a first-ever downgrade for America's debt.

His administration lied to a court regarding the Gulf oil drilling moratorium and was found in contempt of court.

When a federal judge ruled Obamacare unconstitutional and issued an ordered HHS to cease implementation of the law, his administration ignored the judge and feigned ignorance of the order.

When Congress refused to pass the wildly unpopular "DREAM Act", which would offer a form of amnesty to illegal aliens, he ordered Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to cease deportations and issue work permits for illegals instead.

He ordered his Justice Department to sue states for requiring valid identification to vote, despite the fact that the Supreme Court had earlier ruled such laws were valid.

His Labor Department banned Boeing from opening its $1 billion facility in a Right-To-Work state, an unprecedented act in all of American history and a tacit payoff to the unions that have funded his campaigns.

Oh, that's just the tip of the iceberg. You can review the complete list here. Suffice it to say that Obama recognizes no Constitutional limits on his power. And, furthermore, can you imagine what this man will do if there's no reelection hanging over his head?

• "...strives to regulate every aspect of public and private life..." - the Obama regulatory regime controls all forms of energy production (and wants to regulate the air we exhale, carbon dioxide); the cars we drive; the size of toilet tanks we can install; the kind of light bulbs we can buy; the maximum legal water flow permitted in our shower heads; the kind of health insurance policies we can buy; how much money a bank can charge to issue a credit card; what kind of medical innovations may be introduced by private companies into the health care market; the water in your backyard (it may be a "wetland"); and the list goes on and on and on. In fact, no one knows how many millions of pages of laws and regulations we are expected to know under penalty of fines and imprisonment.

• "...stay in ... power through an all-encompassing propaganda campaign, ... disseminated through the state-controlled mass media..." - from NPR to The New York Times, mass media never attempts to vet Obama, his background, upbringing, or core beliefs. In "The Secret Scrapbook of Barry Soetero", I offer a tongue-in-cheek review of his rise to the presidency. But suffice it to say that no one in media delved into his relationship with Jeremiah Wright or Bill Ayers; how he paid for Columbia and Harvard; what his grades were; why his medical records were never disclosed; etc. Old media is state-controlled and the constant flow of reporters to politics and vice versa is proof that they are in lock-step, something never envisioned by this country's founders.

• "...often marked by political repression..." - when was the last time a presidential campaign named private citizens as "enemies" because of their political donations? For that is precisely what the Obama campaign has repeatedly done, demonizing those who dare offer support to his opponents:

[There has been] a multi-year effort by the ongoing Obama campaign to vilify specific donors to competing philosophical causes... In each of these instances, President Obama has relied on a vast grassroots network to coerce, bully, boycott and vilify individuals lawfully taking part in the political process, just as his own donors and supporters are freely allowed to engage.

...There is no current evidence the President has manipulated the federal machinery punitively. But the message remains clear, if you support a philosophical adversary, you will face some retribution. The media has so far given this White House tactic a pass... What name will elicit a defense of Constitutional freedoms? Must it be one of their own, as was the case under Nixon?

Shouldn’t every American be protected against the heavy hand of governmental intimidation? The President must explain his intimidation of people who have lawfully participated in the political system and have borne no electoral injustice to our nation other than participating in lawful industries the President finds objectionable and supporting organizations and campaigns the President opposes.

• "...personality cultism..." - Do we really need to review this?

I couldn't help but notice....

• "...control over the economy..." - again, I don't think we need to review nationalizing two auto companies, crushing the private student loan industry (enjoying those interest rates, kids?), effectively nationalizing much of the banking industry through onerous and prescriptive legislation, effectively nationalizing health care through the disastrous PPACA (Obamacare), and "fixing" housing while avoiding the tough problems that include Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, otherwise known as the job shops for connected Democrats. Need we review all of that?

• "...regulation and restriction of speech..." - they started with the "Fairness Doctrine", moved on to "community standards", and are now trying to eradicate conservatives' social media accounts -- in many cases, successfully. In short, the totalitarian left despises free speech and critics of the First Amendment include President Obama, who has repeatedly hectored the Supreme Court for honoring the Bill of Rights, as in the case of Citizens United.

• "...mass surveillance..." - they've not quite gotten there yet, but the Obama administration gave the go-ahead to the "CISPA Internet surveillance bill". Suffice it to say that we really don't know what kind of surveillance is occurring and it will, should this man be reelected, get much worse.

The final tenet of the totalitarian agenda is terrorism. The progressive-Communist Left can't quite pull that off yet, though I would remind you of Obama's multiple exhortations to create a "civilian national security force". Remember this golden oldie?

We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.

You starting to get the picture, Sparky? Why they're constantly attacking the Second Amendment?

It's the last domino on the road to totalitarianism.

But don't believe me. Read the definition again and do the math.

I shudder to think what this country will become if this man gets reelected.

Exclusive First Look: the Obama Movie Poster Celebrating His Critical Involvement in the Bin Laden Raid

Yes, there really is a feature film on the way regarding the raid that killed Bin Laden. And even Politico has picked up on the crass efforts by the Obama campaign to capitalize on the raid with articles like this one: "Year after bin Laden raid, Obama launches PR blitz.

His campaign’s focus on the raid could fuel criticism that disclosing so many details about the operation will jeopardize the ability of Navy SEALs to carry out future raids... House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Peter King (R-N.Y.) complained last year that the administration was leaking details for political gain, including by cooperating with a Hollywood film originally set to hit theaters just before the election.

Carney dismissed the complaints, saying he hoped congressional critics “would have more important topics to discuss than a movie.” ... However, in December, the Pentagon’s office of inspector general announced it was launching an investigation into allegations that the filmmakers received access to classified information.

Fortunately, Biff Spackle was on the case and has pilfered borrowed an advance copy of the film's movie poster.

I know Joe Biden is spewing out the Ploufflerod-authored campaign slogan of "GM is alive... and Osama's dead."

But what the American people know is that "He killed Osama... and the Economy".

Good News: Urban Outfitters Introduces Its Much-Anticipated 'Auschwitz' Line of Apparel

Because nothing says chic like those pencil-thin models in a Nazi death camp:

The norming of evil. As the depraved left tightens its chokehold on the culture, the media, arts, and popular culture in general reveal to us their true face -- monsters. This is how Hitler and his lovers overtook a country...... incrementally, step by step, mainstreaming hate, dehumanization and genocide via the culture. This is the MBO of the left/Islamic coalition in America. The banality of evil.

American clothing company Urban Outfitters is selling a holocaust T-shirt bearing the Jewish star that Jews were forced to wear by the Nazis in death camps. This Urban Outfitters T-shirt is labeled "Auschwitz chic" and retails for $100. The “patchwork Star of David on the left breast pocket goes back to 1930s and 40s Europe.” The “vintage yellow color” of the shirt is Nazi yellow -- obvious to students of Nazi Germany. This is just another in a long line from the antisemitic Urban Outfitters of Jew-hating clothing pieces using monstrous iconography. The latest Jew-hatred fashion follows on the heels of Arafat's war scarf (the keffiyeh) is this Auschwitz tee shirt. The store also generated anger in 2004 with a shirt bearing the words “Everybody Loves a Jewish Girl,” surrounded by dollar signs and shopping bags.

Atlas has the contact info for Urban Outfitters as well as a recounting of the company's bizarre history of hateful clothing choices.

Egypt Takes First Step to Shred Peace Treaty With Israel

Dan from New York:

The Muslim Brotherhood has just tipped its hand. And it’s looking more and more like the $1.3 billion Americans fork over yearly to bolster Egypt’s military will someday be used against Israel. It’s time to turn off the spigot, but there’s little chance of that while an Islamophile occupies the White House.

Egypt Unilaterally Breaks Off Gas Deal

Cairo breaks agreement that is part of the peace treaty between the countries, damaging Israeli firms.

By Gil Ronen

Egypt informed Israel Sunday afternoon that it is unilaterally cancelling the agreement of supply of gas to Israel. The announcement was made to EMG, the firm that receives the gas from Egypt, and reported on Channel 2 news.

The peace treaty with Egypt includes a financial appendix, in which Egypt agrees to supply Israel with oil. Several years ago the appendix was changed so that the oil was replaced by gas. The treaty commits Egypt to supply Israel with the amount of gas it requires for a specified period, in exchange for payment.

Egypt's unilateral abrogation of the treaty causes "tremendous financial damage" to Israel, and to the Amgas and Ampal companies, according to Channel 2. However, the primary damage is diplomatic, reporter Amnon Abramovich said.

The pipeline carrying gas from Egypt to Israel was blown up 14 times since the Mubarak regime was toppled in February 2011.

Say, how's that "New Beginning in the Middle East" that President Obama promised in 2009 working out?

For you drones: that's a rhetorical question. Hashtag: #epicfail.

Breaking: New Letterhead Unveiled for the Department of Justice

In light of reports that the Department of Justice now refers reporters to Media Matters -- the George Soros-funded propaganda arm of the hard Left -- I felt it imperative to introduce brand new letterhead for the DOJ.

The Department of Justice is using the liberal “watchdog” group Media Matters for America to deflect questions about the Fast and Furious scandal, including those regarding a gun that might have been used in the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

A new book raises questions as to whether the FBI hid the existence of a weapon recovered at the scene of murdered U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. Conservative commentator and author Katie Pavlich lays out evidence she says points to a FBI cover-up to protect a confidential informant in her recently released book, Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal and Its Shameless Cover-up...
Here's the full back-story:

Katie Dixon, a 'confidential assistant' in the Office of Public Affairs at the Department of Justice, reportedly sent an email to Washington Free Beacon writer C.J. Ciaramella saying that she had been directed to send him a link to Media Matters for America, which holds weekly "strategy calls" with the White House, in response to an inquiry  regarding the Operation Fast and Furious scandal...

...In a tweet Friday evening, @CJCiaramella said:

Requested comment from DOJ re: @KatiePavlich's #fastandfurious book. DOJ sent me a link to a Media Matters article...

The message then linked to a story titled Fast And Fallacious: Pavlich's Book On ATF Operation Filled With Falsehoods. At the time of this writing, Dixon has not responded to Breitbart News to confirm that she sent the email shown in the tweet.

Pavlich's book, which is currently a top seller on Amazon.com, is described as telling readers "in chilling detail, just what this operation conducted by the ATF, under the supervision of the Justice Department, entailed" and saying that "equally appalling is the blatant cover-up of wrongdoing by the Obama administration."

In other words, the Holder Department of Justice is openly collaborating with an ultra-left wing propaganda outlet to continue its long-running cover-up of Operation Fast and Furious.

I spoke with author Katie Pavlich on Saturday and she confirmed that additional disclosures related to her bestselling book -- little gems, as I like to call them -- are on the way.

I can't wait.

Photo o' the Day: Jihad-Promoting Communist Assaults IDF Soldier With His Face, Loses

Here's a comforting word for this kook, who's protesting Israel for... allowing Arabs to vote and serve in Parliament, I guess.

Hey, tool: if you'd tried this little "protest" in Egypt, Iran, Libya, or Syria, odds are you'd have been double-tapped on the spot.

So give thanks!

An officer in the IDF had a belly full of taunts from a bunch of pro-Palestinian activists and gave one guy a taste of his rifle magazine.

Naturally the commies are crying brutality and the Israeli government is falling for the propaganda by calling the incident disturbing and starting an investigation...

One thing to note in this video. As soon as the commie gets knocked on his ass and the troops advance on the protestors the crowd quickly melts away in fear. Maybe there’s a lesson to be learned here at home when the Occupy rabble tries to bully the police.

I love how these useful idiots always protest where they can't get in any real trouble.

Crappy Career Choice o' the Day: North Korean Rocket Scientist

Two words to describe North Korea's vaunted multi-stage rocket launch, which lasted all of about 90 seconds. Epic. Fail.

North Korea's attempt Friday to launch a long-range rocket has failed, according to U.S. officials. A senior U.S. official who is receiving updates from U.S. military launch observers tells Fox News the rocket broke apart between 90 seconds and 2 minutes after launching.

In Pyongyang, there was no word about a launch, and state television was broadcasting video for popular folk tunes. North Korean officials said they would make an announcement about the launch "soon."

North Korea had earlier announced it would send a three-stage rocket mounted with a satellite as part of celebrations honoring national founder Kim Il Sung, whose 100th birthday is being celebrated Sunday.

For those DPRK scientists who survive the purge, I predict a long and painful stint in a "re-education" camp.

You know, the kind that Barack Obama and his pal Bill Ayers would like to throw regular Americans in, if they had the power.

Photo Quiz: Which Administration Official Did the Beautiful Russian Spy 'Honey-Trap'?

The Daily Mail:

Sexpot spy Anna Chapman came close to snaring a member of President Obama's inner circle in a honey trap, a top U.S. intelligence official has claimed... In a documentary broadcast last night, FBI counter-intelligence chief Frank Figliuzzi claimed the glamorous Russian agent got close enough to 'disturb' U.S. spy catchers.

He said the fear that Miss Chapman was close to seducing a sitting member of the Obama administration spurred agents to swoop on the 10-strong spy ring of which she was a part... Mr Figliuzzi told the Channel 4 documentary the auburn-haired spy got 'closer and closer to higher and higher ranking leadership... she got close enough to disturb us.

Which of the following administration officials did Chapman entrap?

Or was it someone else? Write your entry in the comments. And, please, be kind. These fine, upstanding officials deserve your respect.

RED ALERT: Former Marine Strike Planner on Obama's Azerbaijan Leak: "Start viewing this administration as an existential threat to Israel"

Four senior American diplomats -- most likely in the State Department -- as well as senior intelligence officers appear to have leaked a key military relationship between Azerbaijan and Israel.

A highly knowledgeable Democratic friend emails Ron Ben-Yishai’s YnetNews report “US thwarting Israeli strike on Iran.” The report asserts that the Obama administration is leaking information to the media in order to avert an Israeli strike in Iran. Ben-Yishai observes that in recent weeks the administration has “shifted from persuasion efforts vis-à-vis decision-makers and Israel’s public opinion to a practical, targeted assassination of potential Israeli operations in Iran.” My friend comments succinctly on the report: “Wow. Ron Ben-Yishai is considered to be one of the most serious Israeli defense correspondents.”

Ben-Yishai gives few examples of the Obama administration’s efforts to thwart an Israeli strike on Iran, but the news this week provides what seems to be a case study supporting his thesis. Foreign Policy reports that, according to “four senior diplomats and military intelligence officers,” Azerbaijan has granted the Israelis access to airbases in that country. Such access would dramatically mitigate the difficulty of an Israeli strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

This leak destroyed any capability of a surprise attack by Israel using these bases. And it came from Obama administration officials.

"Bill", a former Marine Corps strike planner, weighed in on the implications of this leak Friday on The Mark Levin Show. Read every word.

I just want to comment on this revelation by the State Department regarding this Israel-Azerbaijan connection. A few years ago, I was writing an article and studying how Israel might go about attacking Iran with the assets we knew they had...

I've got experience as a Marine F-4 Phantom Radar Interceptor Officer. I've planned strike missions. I've got a thousand hours in the Phantom. So I'm familiar with the problems strike planners have in attacking a target or multiple targets like Iran. And as I looked at the map, I thought: 'Boy, oh, boy, if the Israelis had an alliance with Azerbaijan, that would be the perfect place to launch a strike.

They've got this beautiful, 10,000-foot concrete runway in Baku. You take off, you come right out over the Caspian Sea. The pilots flip on their radar altimeters, drop down 25-feet off the deck, and they just race in a straight line.

They pop up over some hills, and they're in Tehran before the Iranians even know what hit them. They could then go hit the other targets. It reduces the distance for this strike by, oh, six, seven hundred miles. It might alleviate the need for tankers. Or, if they do need tanker support, you could put them over the Caspian Sea...

...The beauty of Baku is that the Caspian Sea is right at the end of the runway. It's a straight shot, maybe 300 miles, from that base to Tehran. A good radar altimeter will get an F-4, F-16, F-15 strike fighter maybe 25 feet off the water. Going in at that altitude, you're not going to be picked up by radar.

But there's something even more important here. The Iranians are not expecting an attack from the north. Now, with the revelation of this relationship, they are. And that has a lot of implications beyond the tactical.

Think of it this way. Prior to this revelation, the Iranians -- although they noticed some connections between Israel and Azerbaijan -- didn't know how deep that connection was.

Now the Iranians can start bullying the Azerbaijanis. They can send a diplomat up to Baku and say, basically, 'if any Israeli plane hits us from the north, when we get our nuke, we are going to test it on Baku. Of course that will all happen behind the scenes, but the threat will be made.

Now, I want you to consider this: there are many ways to attack Iran. You can go for the nuke sites. Or you can go for a decapitation strike. A decapitation strike is a much easier operation if you're coming from Azerbaijan.

Think of it this way: every once in a while, the Iranians have a little get-together. They bring all of the Mullahs together in one place... Why not? They'd be doing us and the world a tremendous favor if they did that.

And it's not going to happen now.

I can guarantee that all of those new Soviet anti-aircraft missiles that the Iranians bought are all going up north now, pointed and waiting for something there. In fact, they'll probably put radars on the Caspian from the mountaintops there, just to see if there's anything come up off the water.

Strategic, tactical surprise: gone.

You have to ask for the motivation behind the leak. I mean, if the Israelis can do this operation, it's to our benefit! From a diplomatic standpoint, if you wanted to tell the Iranians that the Israelis did this, it's without our permission. And then try to butter up the Iranians after the strike, so they don't close the Strait of Hormuz, that's one thing.

But giving away all of the secrets of an ally? When you're doing that, you have to ask whether we still have Israel as an ally. We are not acting like an ally. In fact, if you ask me, based on the amount of time I expect the Israelis put in this relationship with Azerbaijan, I would start viewing this administration as an existential threat to Israel.

This administration is not going to do anything to stop the Iranian terror state from acquiring nuclear weapons. They are actively working against America's closest allies to prevent a strike against Iran. They are, under Obama's orders, leaking highly classified information to America's enemies through the media.

Who leaked this information? And when are we going to prosecute them?

Where is the House Foreign Affairs Committee? Do we still have one?

I urge you to contact Chairman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen at (202) 225-5021 and ask the committee what it is doing to find the sources of these leaks.

Israel Smells a Rat [Dan from NY]

Dan from NY:

All day I was toying with the idea of sending around one or more of the stories about Israel’s supposed deal with Azerbaijan to use their airfields as a staging area for an attack on Iran. But I kept asking myself who really benefits from the story – and never pressed “send.” Now I have an answer to my question, and as I suspected the beneficiary (and source) of the story was Israel’s “best friend,” Barack Obama.

Israelis Suspect Obama Media Leaks to Prevent Strike on Iran

ABC News – 3/29/2012

JERUSALEM - Two reports today about Iran's nuclear program and the possibility of an Israeli military strike have analysts in Israel accusing the Obama administration of leaking information to pressure Israel not to bomb Iran and for Iran to reach a compromise in upcoming nuclear talks.

The first report in Foreign Policy quotes anonymous American officials saying that Israel has been given access to airbases by Iran's northern neighbor Azerbaijan from which Israel could launch air strikes or at least drones and search and rescue aircraft.

The second report from Bloomberg, based on a leaked congressional report, said that Iran's nuclear facilities are so dispersed that it is "unclear what the ultimate effect of a strike would be…" A strike could delay Iran as little as six months, a former official told the researchers.

"It seems like a big campaign to prevent Israel from attacking," analyst Yoel Guzansky at the Institute for National Security Studies told ABC News. "I think the [Obama] administration is really worried Jerusalem will attack and attack soon. They're trying hard to prevent it in so many ways."

...Thursday's reports come a week after the results of a classified war game was leaked to the New York Times which predicted that an Israeli strike could lead to a wider regional war and result in hundreds of American deaths. In a column this afternoon titled "Obama Betraying Israel?" longtime defense commentator Ron Ben-Yishai at Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper angrily denounced the leaks as a "targeted assassination campaign ... of potential Israeli operations in Iran," Ben-Yishai writes. "The campaign's aims are fully operational: To make it more difficult for Israeli decision-makers to order the IDF [Israeli Defense Forces] to carry out a strike, and what's even graver, to erode the IDF's capacity to launch such strike with minimal casualties."

And the question remains: why do the Russians know more about Obama's agenda than America's citizens?

Monday, March 26, 2012

Why do the Russians know more about Obama's agenda than America's citizens?

The administration can't be too fond of ABC News' Jake Tapper. Tapper reported early today that President Obama was caught on an open microphone telling Russian President Medvedev that once he's reelected, he won't have to bother with those pesky Americans who are worried about sharing missile defense secrets.

President Obama: On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space.

President Medvedev: Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…

President Obama: This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.

President Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.

Senior GOP officials are rightfully concerned, given that missile defense is a critical element of U.S. national security.

“If there was any doubt how dangerous Barack Obama would be for America’s security in a second term, the president put all uncertainty to rest today,” said the source, who closely tracks foreign policy matters. “The president just told us that he is itching to hand over America’s most secret missile defense data to a country that is arming Syria and fueling Iran’s Bushehr reactor—and he would do it today but for his re-election concerns. With no political constraints in a second term, who knows what Obama will do.”

The adviser also said Obama’s remarks should cause concern among pro-Israel forces in America.

If this is what the president’s promising the Russians on missile defense, God only knows what he’s promising Arab leaders about Israel,” noted the souce. “If you think Barack Obama was bad for Israel in term one, put your seatbelt on and get ready for term two.”

Rep. Michael Turner, Chairman of a House Armed Services Subcommittee, is seriously ticked off and he said as much in a letter to the president that has undertones of a threat laced within it.

As you know, in the FY12 National Defense Authorization Act, Congress enacted, and you signed into law, a provision constraining your ability to share classified U.S. missile defense information with the Russian Federation. Congress took this step because it was clear based on official testimony and Administration comments in the press that classified information about U.S. missile defenses, including hit-to-kill technology and velocity at burnout information, may be on the table as negotiating leverage for your reset with Russia. Despite signing the FY12 defense authorization legislation into law, you then issued a signing statement signaling that you may treat that provision protecting U.S. missile defense information as non-binding. This morning’s comments, on top of that action, suggests that you and your administration have plans for U.S. missile defenses that you believe will not stand up to electoral scrutiny.

Congress has made exquisitely clear to your Administration and to other nations that it will block all attempts to weaken U.S. missile defenses. As the Chairman of the Strategic Forces Subcommittee, which authorizes U.S. missile defense and nuclear weapons policy, I want to make perfectly clear that my colleagues and I will not allow any attempts to trade missile defense of the United States to Russia or any other country.

Once again, I've been forced to update President Barack Obama's Complete List of Historic Firsts to include this missive:

"First President to Openly Defy a Congressional Order Not To Share Sensitive Nuclear Defense Secrets With the Russian Government.."

Turns Out Bluto Really Did End Up In Congress: Keith Ellison Asserts That the Nazis Bombed Pearl Harbor

Yes, this is what passes for informed commentary among the intelligentsia of the Democrat Party. And these are the idiots who want to rule our health care, our access to energy, our automobiles, our light bulbs, our toilet paper, our factories, and every other aspect of our lives they can think of.

Bluto: Hey! What's this lying around s***?

Stork: Well, what the hell we s'posed to do, you moron?

D-Day: War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.

Bluto: Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Otter: Germans?

Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.

Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough... [pauses to remember the rest of the phrase] ...the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go! [runs out, alone; then returns]

Bluto: What the f*** happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst! "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well, just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this! Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer—

Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons, but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

Bluto: And we're just the guys to do it.

D-Day: Let's do it.

So it turns out that Bluto really did end up in Congress!

Congressman Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) made some astonishingly ignorant statements during a discussion about the Iranian nuclear issue on Fox News's The O'Reilly Factor Tuesday... The pièce de résistance was him telling host Bill O'Reilly that the Nazis bombed Pearl Harbor...

CONGRESSMAN KEITH ELLISON (D-MINNESOTA): No, they [Iran] don’t have a weapon. They have not made a decision to do one. The inspections…

BILL O’REILLY, HOST: How would you know they have not made a decision to do one? How would you know that?

ELLISON: Because. I’m glad you asked. Because we have satellite technology. We have technology that can detect.

O’REILLY: They’re underground. The satellites can’t penetrate the earth. They’re underground.

ELLISON: We have inspections that have gone on.

O’REILLY: They won’t let the inspectors in as I’ve said three times.

ELLISON: Yes they have. There have been a number of inspections.

O’REILLY. No there haven’t. They went two weeks ago and they wouldn’t let them go in.

ELLISON: Well, Bill, I’m sorry, but I’m not going to back a war based on a maybe. 4,409 Americans are dead because somebody—

O’REILLY: Congressman, the reason we like you as a guest is because you’re an honest man, But I will point to history. I will point to history. The same mindset was taken when dealing with Nazi Germany. We’re not going to go in aggressive action. We don’t believe they’re going to do this. We don’t believe they’re going to do that. And they absolutely did everything. So I think you’ve got to learn from history.

ELLISON: Let me tell you in World War II, in World War II they attacked Pearl Harbor. That would be enough.

O’REILLY: No, this is the German theater not the Japanese.

I suggest that we start a Twitter meme -- hashtag #EllisonHistory -- to memorialize Bluto Ellison's brilliance.

Postscript: I haven't been over to Ace's place yet today, but I have the sinking feeling that he beat me to this precise post -- only about 75 times funnier.

Magazine Cover o' the Day: Semper Fi!

Surely it can come as no surprise to the anti-American Left -- i.e., the Democrat Party -- that the U.S. military despises Barack Obama. After all, this is the president who promised to "fundamentally transform" America, and started by gutting NASA, all branches of the service, and our nuclear deterrent force.

Sgt. Gary Stein might be saying things about President Obama that a lot of Marines think, but some are saying he took it too far.

Stein has come under fire for stating on Facebook that he wouldn’t follow certain orders given by his commander in chief. And Marines say Stein’s not alone in his disapproval. More anti-Obama talk is being heard in the workplace and new Military Times poll data shows declining approval among military service members for the president’s job as commander in chief.

The Marine Corps depends its chain of command structure, especially in a time of war. Some Marines say Stein and other vocal Marines like him are undermining that system.

The full article requires a subscription, but suffice it to say this behavior is simply quid pro quo.

A president who has defied multiple court orders, operated outside the bounds of the Constitution on numerous occasions, and runs arguably the most lawless administration in history should know: what goes around comes around.

Great news: Iran allied with Obama 'spiritual mentor' Jeremiah Wright to foment violence at radical Anti-Israel protest

Isn't it time legacy media vetted Obama -- or do they just want to wither and die, leaving real journalism up to the Army of Breitbarts? I'm wagering on the latter.

The Iranian regime is behind a global, anti-Israel protest movement that has attracted endorsements from former government officials and allies of President Barack Obama—including his longtime pastor and mentor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Billed as a purely peaceful protest movement, the Global March to Jerusalem (GMJ) is an amalgam of anti-Israel activists from across the world. On March 30, the group plans to storm Israel’s borders, likely provoking a bloody conflict.

The Global March adheres to a radical left-wing ideology that denies Jewish historical connections to Jerusalem. Organizers have vowed to “end the Apartheid, ethnic cleansing and Judaisation policies affecting the people, land, and sanctity of Jerusalem.”

At the center of the movement lies Iran, which has provided moral and logistical support to various anti-Israel proxy groups participating in the march, according to an Israeli intelligence group and other experts.

Iran’s ultimate goal, they say, is to foment global disdain for Israel, thus diverting attention away from its disputed nuclear program.

True to form, the usual cadre of Islamofascists, useful idiots, and progressive Democrat Marxists -- like Barack Obama's longtime friend and mentor, Jeremiah Wright -- will find a way to demonstrate their open hatred of America and Israel.

Russia Hits Reset on the Arab Spring: Sends Troops Into Syria -- ABC

Dan from NY:

This is starting to get interesting. The way Obama is playing his hand, all the bad actors – Russia, Syria, Iran, the Islamists and Turkey - stand to gain influence in the region at America’s expense. Let’s hope our people (and the Republican candidates) come to realize before the election that it’s more than just the economy, stupid, it’s our deteriorating position in the world.

Russian Anti-Terror Troops Arrive in Syria

MOSCOW, Russia - A Russian military unit has arrived in Syria, according to Russian news reports, a development that a United Nations Security Council source told ABC News was "a bomb" certain to have serious repercussions.

Russia, one of President Bashar al-Assad's strongest allies despite international condemnation of the government's violent crackdown on the country's uprising, has repeatedly blocked the United Nations Security Council's attempts to halt the violence, accusing the U.S. and its allies of trying to start another war.

Now the Russian Black Sea fleet's Iman tanker has arrived in the Syrian port of Tartus on the Mediterranean Sea with an anti-terror squad from the Russian Marines aboard according to the Interfax news agency. The Assad government has insisted it is fighting a terrorist insurgency... The presence of Russian troops in Syria could be a "pretty obvious" show of support to the regime, according to Russian security expert Mark Galeotti.

...Moscow has long enjoyed a cozy relationship with the Assad regime, to which it sells billions of dollars of weapons. In return Russia has maintained a Navy base at Tartus, which gives it access to the Mediterranean.

...Russia's Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov denied reports that Russian special forces were operating inside Syria. He did say, however, that there are Russian military and technical advisors in the country.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland said the U.S. government had not heard of the reports of Russian troops in Syria and declined to comment.

Everything the Obama administration touches turns to crap. From the "Stimulus", to health care, energy, the Middle East, you name it. As Mark Levin aptly puts it, "Obama is a human wrecking-ball." And I see no evidence to the contrary.

Here's what would happen if Washington, DC got nuked...

Gizomodo points us to a DHS and FEMA analysis (PDF) of the after-effects of a nuclear detonation in the heart of the District of Columbia. Everything from blast effects, fallout, evacuation procedures, casualties and first-responder preparations are described in great detail.

Unfortunately, our instincts can be our own worst enemy. The bright flash of detonation would be seen instantaneously throughout the region and may cause people to approach windows to see what is happening just as a blast wave breaks the window. For a 10-kT detonation, glass can be broken with enough force to cause injury out to 3 miles and can take more than 10 seconds to reach this range.

Another urge to overcome is the desire to flee the area (or worse, run into fallout areas to reunite with family members), which can place people outdoors in the first few minutes and hours when fallout exposures are the greatest. Those outside or in vehicles will have little protection from the penetrating radiation coming off fallout particles as they accumulate on roofs and the ground.

...Unless a given shelter location is considered unsafe due to fire or structural damage, the length of time individuals should remain sheltered depends on instructions from regional emergency management agencies. For those in good shelters, such as a large concrete, brick, or underground structure, optimal shelter times will likely be in terms of days. In the absence of specific guidance from authorities and adequate supplies of food and water, or for those who are in smaller 2- to 3-story structures or shallow basements, evacuation should be considered after 12 hours. Upon leaving shelter, the best course is to follow routes that take advantage of sheltered passages (subways, underground connectors, or through building lobbies) that lead away from damage and heavy fallout areas. Once clear of potential fallout areas, evacuees should seek a change of clothes (including shoes) and wipe or wash exposed skin surfaces...

...The Severe Damage Zone (SDZ) is the area that immediately surrounds a detonation site and extends to ~0.5 mile radius for a 10-kT explosion, as shown in Figure 10. In the SDZ, few, if any, above-ground buildings are expected to remain structurally sound or even standing, and few people would survive; however, some people protected within stable structures (e.g., subterranean parking garages or subway tunnels) at the time of the explosion could survive the initial blast...

...Very high radiation levels and other hazards are expected to persist in the SDZ making the zone gravely dangerous to survivors and responders. The SDZ should be considered a no-go zone during the early days following an explosion...

...Emergency response and access to the MDZ will be greatly affected by the substantial rubble as well as crashed or overturned vehicles that will completely block streets and require heavy equipment to clear. Broken water and utility lines are expected, and fires will be encountered. However, many casualties in the MDZ will survive and will benefit most (compared to casualties in other prompt effect damage zones) from urgent medical care (AMA, 2011). Responders approaching from the blast-area periphery should be cognizant that when they begin observing that most buildings are either severely damaged or have collapsed, they are entering the SDZ...

...In addition to prompt effects that radiate outward from a detonation site, a nuclear blast can produce nuclear fallout, which is generated when dust and debris excavated by the explosion are combined with radioactive fission products produced in the nuclear explosion and drawn upward by the heat produced...

...The cloud rapidly climbs through the atmosphere, potentially up to 5 miles (8 km) high for a 10-kT explosion, forming a mushroom cloud (under ideal weather conditions) from which highly radioactive particles drop back down to earth as the cloud cools...

...Hiroshima and Nagasaki did not experience substantive fallout because the detonations occurred well above ground at altitudes of 1,900 ft (579.12 m) and 1,500 ft (457.2 m), respectively. At such altitudes, fission products do not have the opportunity to mix with excavated earth...

Net net: this is why the nation's capital is reportedly ringed by extremely sensitive detectors for radioactivity.

And -- sorry, Paulbots -- this is also why we need to continue to invest in missile defense.

How Long Until Obama Bans Troops From Wearing This Awesome "Pork-Eating Crusader" Gear?

In ...three... two...

Exhausted from how they feel they're being perceived, troops have taken to wearing patches and carrying items that label themselves infidels and offer translation in local dialect.

In the Muslim world an infidel means literally "one without faith" who rejects the central teachings of Islam.

Military.com tracked down Clayton Montgomery at Mil-Spec Monkey, a large online seller of infidel gear, who says his most popular item by far is the "Pork Eating Crusader Patch."

The patch includes an image of a knight in a Crusade's tunic, eating what appears to be a large ham hock, and lest there be any confusion — a translation in Arabic.

They haven't gone unnoticed. The website Muslim Awakening, posts a picture of what appears to be a German soldier with the patch adhered to his combat uniform.

Other items are more subtle.

There is the Infidel Zippo advertised as: "This one is small enough to hold some personal meaning and not be in-your-face to everyone you meet. It’s perfect for pulling out at just the right moment to get the full effect."

Well, we wouldn't want to offend the extremists who routinely stone women, hang homosexuals, and let children burn to death because they're not wearing burkas, can we?
