So here's the story, best I can figure it.
Egyptian television has a show that's roughly equivalent to MTV's Punk'd. But the running gag is always the same: the Islamist actors are informed, midway through the interview, that they're actually on Israeli television. At which point things get a little rough.
The first actor came close to pulling a gun on the set.
Now, that's what I call an Arab Spring, folks!

Did Eric Holder Help Spring the Suicide Bomber Mehdi Ghezali From Guantanamo Bay?
Eric Holder, prior to assuming the position of attorney general, was a partner at the law firm of Covington and Burling. The firm is infamous for its pro bono defense of Al Qaeda terrorists caught on the battlefield:
And, as expected, it would appear that Israeli civilians have paid the ultimate price for this kind of treasonous madness.
Guantanamo Bay DetaineesIn fact, no less than nine attorneys in the Holder Justice Department have been involved with defending Islamist terrorists from prosecution.
- ...we are challenging the legality of our clients’ detentions in habeas proceedings in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Of the seven cases that have gone to merits hearings thus far, Covington has won four, lost two, and is awaiting a decision in one other. Two prior clients were released without a hearing.
- The firm has been involved in the Guantánamo related litigation for the last six years. In addition to the on-going habeas corpus proceedings, our efforts have included: bringing cases for review of enemy combatant classification decisions...; ... filing amicus briefs and coordinating the amicus effort in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld...; filing amicus briefs in support of Supreme Court review in Moussaoui v. United States..., cert denied...; challenging the government’s practice of redacting information from documents given to security-cleared habeas counsel; and challenging the abusive medical and living conditions that the detainees experience at Guantánamo.
And, as expected, it would appear that Israeli civilians have paid the ultimate price for this kind of treasonous madness.
According to a report by The Times of Israel, Bulgarian media named Mehdi Ghezali, a Swedish citizen and former detainee at Guantanamo Bay from 2002 to 2004, as the suicide bomber responsible for an attack in Burgas, Bulgaria, on Wednesday... On Wednesday, eight people were killed when a suicide bomber attacked a bus carrying Israeli tourists in Bulgaria. According to The Long War Journal, Mehdi Ghezali was arrested in Pakistan in December 2001. His lawyers claim he was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, The Weekly Standard reports.Attorneys at Covington and Burley (and other firms at which current DOJ attorneys worked) are reported to have counseled prisoners at Gitmo to allege mental and/or physical abuse:
With a black baseball cap pulled tight over a mop of stringy long hair and a patchy, close-cropped beard, Mehdi-Muhammed Ghezali looked more like a Metallica roadie than a disciple of Ayman al-Zawahiri. He addressed the scrum of reporters in a clipped, heavily accented Swedish and accused the American government of wrongly detaining him for three years and "physically and mentally" torturing him. A book about his experiences was in the works; a documentary crew, cobbling together a film about American human rights abuses, had requested an audience; and his legal team was plotting a lawsuit against Donald Rumsfeld. It was 2004, and Ghezali was a free man. Sweden's The Local reports that documents released by WikiLeaks show Ghezali was held at Guantanamo to "give general and specific information of the cultural, religious and ethnic recruitment of foreign nationals participating in the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia."According to documents released by Wikileaks, Mehdi was considered an extremely dangerous character and "posed a threat to the United States, its interests, and its allies." Consider this New York Post article from 26 February 2009:
ATTORNEY General Eric Holder toured Guantanamo Bay this week, a “fact finding” visit prompted by President Obama’s “close Gitmo” order... Holder’s previous job, after all, was as a senior partner with Covington and Burling – a white-shoe DC law firm that devotes considerable pro bono time to defending the Gitmo detainees. The job paid $2 million a year, and he expects to collect a like amount this year as part of his separation package. As a senior partner, he undoubtedly had significant input on what kind of charity cases his firm picked up. He surely knew that dozens of lawyers from from his firm were among the 500-plus civilian lawyers representing the 244 or so remaining detainees (on top of military-court-appointed defenders). Even now, his Covington colleagues continue to allege rampant torture at Gitmo. They’re fighting hard to have detainees tried through the US court system – essentially given the same rights as US citizens. And their arguments and plans hinge largely on having Holder issue a bad report card.In part, thanks to the efforts of U.S. attorneys -- very likely including Eric Holder himself, his law firm, and/or other DOJ radicals hired by Holder -- Ghezali was released from Guantanamo and arrived in Sweden in 2004. My only question: how much more skulduggery will Eric Holder have to commit before the House leadership gathers the courage to impeach this disgraceful human being?

Allen West Ties Today's Terror Attack to Another Iranian-Sponsored Attack in Buenos Aires, 18 Years Ago to the Day
Regarding yet another Iranian-sponsored terror attack targeting innocents, Rep. Allen West writes:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated:
Israel's ambassador to the U.S., Dan Oren, spoke in no uncertain terms:
Of course, the Obama administration's outrageous leaks regarding Israel have made the job considerably more difficult.
Godspeed, IDF. Godspeed.
Blood has been spilled today once again in the senseless death of Israeli citizens killed in a terrorist attack on a tour bus in a Bulgarian resort town.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the Israelis who lost their lives and those who were injured.
It is no coincidence this attack comes on the 18th Anniversary of the attack on a Jewish community center in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires. On this date two decades ago, 85 people lost their lives.
The terrorists behind today’s suicide bombing, and others in the past, have one goal in mind; to invoke terror and fear in the hearts and minds of the Israeli people. This enemy, the same enemy that seeks to destroy the United States, will stop at nothing to destroy Israel and to kill its sons and daughters.
America must stand behind our strongest and most steadfast ally in the Middle East, Israel, to find the perpetrators behind today’s attack and ensure the protection of the nation and people of Israel.
It is essential freedom-loving people do not allow these acts of terrorism to prevent them from defending the principles of liberty, freedom and democracy.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated:
All signs point towards Iran. Over the last few months we have seen Iran’s attempts to attack Israelis in Thailand, India, Georgia, Kenya, Cyprus and other countries. Exactly 18 years to the day after the horrendous attack on the Jewish Community Center in Argentina, deadly Iranian terrorism continues to strike at innocent people. This is a global Iranian terror onslaught and Israel will react firmly to it.
Israel's ambassador to the U.S., Dan Oren, spoke in no uncertain terms:
Well, we will surely choose the time and place and we will react firmly. The Israeli people, the state, the army of Israel will defend itself. And Iranians will know that they cannot shed Israeli blood with impunity.
Of course, the Obama administration's outrageous leaks regarding Israel have made the job considerably more difficult.
Godspeed, IDF. Godspeed.

Great news: Google targeting gangs, jihadists, militants and... wait for it... "right-wing extremists"
Because the Tea Party is so violent compared to, say, the Occupy movement, right?
Curious how the term Left-Wing Extremists couldn't make Google's short list, eh? At last check, the far left Occupy movement has been responsible for:
• 6,800 arrests
• $12 million in property damage
• 500 thefts and/or robberies
• more than a dozen rapes
• and three murders and a dozen deaths
I wonder how many crimes the Tea Party and other Constitutional Conservatives -- people who believe in America's founding principles -- have been responsible for?
Violent illicit networks represent a trillion-dollar problem that affects every society in the world and claims hundreds of thousands of lives each year. For example, more than 50,000 people have died in the past five years as a result of the ongoing war in Mexico between rival drug cartels...
We think Google can help [combat these networks]. Eighteen months ago we launched Google Ideas with the belief that Google is in the unique position to explore the role that technology can play in tackling some of the toughest human challenges in the world. Our first area of focus was counter-radicalization; last year we convened the Summit Against Violent Extremism with former gang members, right-wing extremists, jihadists and militants as well as survivors of violent extremism. Among the many outcomes of the summit was a platform that we established as a one-stop shop for tackling violent extremism through formers and survivors.

If Brian Terry had been black, would the Congressional Black Caucus have walked out on the Holder contempt vote?
In a sickening display of partisanship, the Congressional Black Caucus and other Democrats walked out of last week's House vote that found A.G. Eric Holder in Contempt of Congress.
That same day, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee Darrell Issa released secret wiretap applications that prove -- beyond a shadow of a doubt -- that Holder and other DOJ officials committed perjury and executed a cover-up. It is now apparent that the highest levels of Main Justice knew precisely what tactics Fast and Furious employed long before the operation resulted in the murder of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.
So here is my thought experiment of the day: What if Brian Terry had been black? Would the CBC have walked out on the contempt vote?
It's apparent that the Congressional Black Caucus could care less about the hundreds of Mexicans slaughtered courtesy of Eric Holder's "Fast and Furious".
So how pathetic is it that the CBC -- contrary to the counsel of Martin Luther King, Jr. -- rejects the content of a man's character and focuses only on skin pigmentation?
It's sick, that's what it is.

Our Irregular Body Language Segment: Putin and Obama
Spotted the following letter to the editor in today's Wall Street Journal.
Vince, this is easily explainable. The president can't bow while he's sitting down, for heaven's sake!
I have always known that a picture is worth a thousand words. It has never been more true than in observing the picture that accompanies Hillary Clinton's "Trade With Russia Is a Win-Win" (op-ed, June 20). Presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama are shown shaking hands, and Mr. Putin has clearly taken the power position.
The Russian president has his hand on top, pointing down, while Mr. Obama's is on the bottom, pointing up. There is a nonverbal message being conveyed here, and I for one don't like the implication.

Just another Eric Holder scandal: withholding the same documents from Congress he gave to terrorists
It's so hard to keep all of Holder's scandals straight.
You read that right: Eric Holder and his radicalized appointees at the Department of Justice won't disclose to Congress what they shared with terrorists.
Funny, I didn't hear about that on NBC Nightly News.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is in the spotlight after the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee voted to hold him in contempt because he is refusing to provide documents related to the Fast and the Furious scandal. But there’s another scandal you should know about. For over one year, he has refused to hand over documents about the Muslim Brotherhood network in the U.S.
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), vice chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, confronted Holder about the matter on Thursday, June 21. Rep. Gohmert wants Congress to have access to documents from the trial of the Holy Land Foundation, the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. history. Five Foundation officials were found guilty of funding Hamas and evidence introduced by the federal government shows it was set up by the Muslim Brotherhood’s secret “Palestine Committee” in the U.S.
Three prominent Muslim-American organizations were labeled by the federal government as “unindicted co-conspirators” in the trial-the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT). The documents requested by Rep. Gohmert for the past year were provided to the Holy Land Foundation’s defense team, yet are being denied to Congress.
“They are terrorists, and we wanted the documents you gave to the terrorists. We are a year later, and we still don’t have them,” complained Rep. Gohmert. Holder replied that he’d only provide what is already available publicly.
You read that right: Eric Holder and his radicalized appointees at the Department of Justice won't disclose to Congress what they shared with terrorists.

Egypt's New President Reaches Out To ... Iran
Dan from New York:
As I wrote more than four years -- in May of 2008, to be precise -- "Barack Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like Patton."
The scene: President George W. Bush, then in the midst of a visit to Israel, warned against a policy of appeasement with Iran.
I hate to say I told you so, but here we are four years later. Barack Obama has accomplished absolutely nothing in the Middle East -- other than make it infinitely more dangerous.
That didn’t take long. Only a day went by before Egypt's President-elect Mohamed Morsi said he intends to restore "normal relations" with Iran to achieve "strategic regional balance."
Now the race is in on.
Who’ll be first to reach that goal, Mohamed Morsi or Barack Hussein Obama?
As I wrote more than four years -- in May of 2008, to be precise -- "Barack Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like Patton."
The scene: President George W. Bush, then in the midst of a visit to Israel, warned against a policy of appeasement with Iran.
Bud Simmons reminds us of the old saying: "When a stone is thrown into a pack of wolves, the one that yelps is the one that is hit."
Barack Obama immediately yelped with a faux anger that smacked of political calculation.
George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the President's extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel."
In a speech this week, Obama reiterated his position: "I have never said I would negotiate with terrorists.”
Unfortunately for Sen. Obama, his own official campaign web site contradicts his assertions.
Diplomacy: Obama is the only major candidate who supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions. Now is the time to pressure Iran directly to change their troubling behavior.
I hate to say I told you so, but here we are four years later. Barack Obama has accomplished absolutely nothing in the Middle East -- other than make it infinitely more dangerous.

How the "Flame" cyber-attack targeted Windows Update
The recently discovered malware called "Flame" has been termed "one of the most complex threats ever discovered". It targeted Windows Update -- a feature of Windows that continually updates Windows-based PCs as new security problems are discovered -- to deliver a malicious software package of amazing complexity.
For tech junkies interested in how the attackers co-opted Windows Update, this presentation by Alex Sotirov dissects the attack in exquisite detail.

Which in no way excuses the outrageous national security leaks by the Obama administration decried by Democrat and Republican alike.

Mullahs: "Obama's Time Is Running Out, Not Iran's"
Dan from New York:
Via MEMRI, reading and translating what the legacy media doesn’t want you to know.
Iranian Regime Offers Obama a 'Win-Win' Deal: Recognize Our Nuclear Rights – And You Will Be Reelected
In its June 11, 2012 editorial, the Sobh-e Sadeq weekly, which is the organ of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), attempts to persuade U.S. President Barack Obama that recognizing Iran's nuclear rights at the upcoming nuclear talks in Moscow, June 18-19, will get him reelected. The editorial, headlined "The Importance of the Moscow Conference for Iran and Obama," states that Obama has an opportunity to turn the Moscow talks into a springboard to victory in November. Warning that it is Obama's time that is running out, not Iran's, it adds that if he does not promote recognition of Iran's nuclear rights at the Moscow talks – what the paper calls "a win-win" for both sides – Tehran will simply bide its time and wait for his successor.

Make it viral: the Fast and Furious ad you've been waiting for
To paraphrase our friends at The Right Scoop, make this one go viral. Here's the stop-action, story-board version:

December 2010.

U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry is gunned down along the Arizona-Mexico border.

Left at the murder scene, two assault rifles linked to Operation Fast and Furious.

Under Fast and Furious, President Obama's Justice Department puts thousands of weapons in the hands of dangerous drug cartels.

More than 1,700 guns are lost.

Many are linked to violent crimes and killings in the U.S.

And Mexico.

Including Agent Terry's murder.

Obama denies any knowledge or accountability.

And, under oath, Attorney General Eric Holder says, "I probably learned about Fast and Furious over the last few weeks."

But official memos to Holder prove that's not true.

Holder knew about Fast and Furious nearly a year before.

Under oath, Holder lied to Congress.

And whistleblowers were punished by Holder.

Obama's response? "I have complete confidence in Attorney General Holder."

But after cover-ups and denials, can Americans have confidence in Holder... or the President?

Call Congress Now: We want answers. And accountability.

All the President's Leaks [Updated]
Update on 6/9/2012: To avoid a special prosecutor, the Department of Justice has assigned two U.S. attorneys to investigate the leaks.
It is increasingly likely that President Obama is responsible for the most catastrophic leaks of national security secrets since Bill Clinton sold classified missile technologies to the Chinese in exchange for campaign cash. Please consider the following stories, all of which are from the last few months alone:
You have to ask for the motivation behind the leak. I mean, if the Israelis can do this operation, it's to our benefit! From a diplomatic standpoint, if you wanted to tell the Iranians that the Israelis did this, it's without our permission. And then try to butter up the Iranians after the strike, so they don't close the Strait of Hormuz, that's one thing.
But giving away all of the secrets of an ally? When you're doing that, you have to ask whether we still have Israel as an ally. We are not acting like an ally. In fact, if you ask me, based on the amount of time I expect the Israelis put in this relationship with Azerbaijan, I would start viewing this administration as an existential threat to Israel."
...Highlighting the government’s use of “smart power” to fight extremists, Clinton said that military and civilian specialists around the world are focused on pre-empting, discrediting, and outmaneuvering extremist propaganda. Calling them “a digital outreach team,” Clinton said the specialists are fluent in Urdu, Arabic, and Somali. The group is “already patrolling the web and using social media and other tools to expose al Qaeda’s contradictions and abuses, including its continuing brutal attacks on Muslim civilians."
Great work, Hill. Thanks for exposing all of the classified work.
And where is the cacophony of idiots at Vanity Fair and The New York Times-Democrat, which devoted hundreds upon hundreds of column-inches to Valerie Plame?
Oh, that's right. Old media is bleeding out as we speak.
Do Republicans still control the House of Representatives?
Where are the f***ing subpoenas? Lives hang in the balance! Our warriors and intelligence operators are at risk! A Pakistani doctor who helped track down Bin Laden will spend 33 years in prison -- if he survives at all! Top Secret information is being leaked to dimwits in Hollywood in order to speed production of a movie that will lionize Barack Obama... just before the election!
I urge you to call Buck McKeon, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee at (202) 225-4151. Demand an explanation. Where are the freaking subpoenas for all of these leaks? These are high crimes. Treasonous crimes. And people need to go to prison.

Please consider the following stories, all of which are from the last few months alone:
Obama leaked national security secrets to speed production of a movie about the Bin Laden hit
"These documents, which took nine months and a federal lawsuit to disgorge from the Obama administration, show that politically-connected film makers were giving extraordinary and secret access to bin Laden raid information, including the identity of a Seal Team Six leader ... It is both ironic and hypocritical that the Obama administration stonewalled [the] pursuit of the bin Laden death photos, citing national security concerns, yet seemed willing to share intimate details regarding the raid to help Hollywood filmmakers release a movie ‘perfectly timed to give a home-stretch boost’ to the Obama campaign."Even CNN concerned that Obama leaked details of Stuxnet cyber attack
"The level of detail spilling out through media reports about crucial national security operations is raising the question of whether President Barack Obama’s administration can keep a secret – or in some cases even wants to... In just the past week, two tell-all articles about Obama’s leadership as commander-in-chief have been published, dripping with insider details about his sleeves-rolled-up involvement in choosing terrorist targets for drone strikes and revelations about his amped-up cyber war on Iran... 'This is unbelievable … absolutely stunning,' a former senior intelligence official said about the level of detail contained in the cyberattack story... The article 'talks about President Obama giving direction for a cyberweapons attack during a time of peace against a United Nations member state.'"Obama officials disclosed identity of jailed Pakistani doctor who helped locate Bin Laden
"Dr. Shakil Afridi ran a vaccination program for the CIA to collect DNA and verify bin Laden's presence at the compound in the town of Abbottabad where U.S. commandos killed the Al Qaeda chief in a May 2011 raid... The operation outraged Pakistani officials, who portrayed it as an act of treachery by a supposed ally. [Rep. Peter] King, R-N.Y., said administration officials talked about the doctor and his DNA sampling... The doctor was sentenced to 33 years in prison on Wednesday for conspiring against the state -- a verdict officials said is likely to further strain the country's relationship with Washington... The first reference to Dr. Afridi appears to be in a July 2011 story in the Guardian newspaper."Former Marine Strike Planner Slams Obama's Azerbaijan Leak
"Four senior American diplomats -- most likely in the State Department -- as well as senior intelligence officers appear to have leaked a key military relationship between Azerbaijan and Israel... This leak destroyed any capability of a surprise attack by Israel using these bases. And it came from Obama administration officials...You have to ask for the motivation behind the leak.

Hillary Clinton brags about hacking Al Qaeda websites to counter propaganda
"In a rare public admission of the covert cyber war against extremists, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says cyber experts based at the State Department hacked Yemeni tribal websites, replacing Al Qaeda propaganda that bragged about killing Americans......Highlighting the government’s use of “smart power” to fight extremists, Clinton said that military and civilian specialists around the world are focused on pre-empting, discrediting, and outmaneuvering extremist propaganda. Two speeches on D-Day
On 6 June 1984, on the cliffs of Normandy, President Ronald Reagan honored the sacrifice of the hundreds of thousands of Allied soldiers, sailors and airmen who participated in D-Day. Many veterans of that day attended the speech, while thousands of other heroes never left France, having paid the ultimate price to defend liberty. During his career in politics, Reagan gave many great speeches, but none perhaps as moving as that which he delivered on the 40th anniversary of D-Day.
On 6 June 2012, President Barack Obama did not bother to commemorate D-Day. He did, however, fly to Hollywood to attend six separate fundraisers, including one that featured Cher in the front row of the audience.
According to The Los Angeles Times, Obama has now held 150 fundraisers, more than the five previous presidents combined.
Obviously the president had more important things to do than commemorate the invasion of D-Day and those who fought, bled and died to defeat the scourge of Nazism. Those heroes didn't even merit a mention by the president.
Hat tip: Mark Levin.
...The men of Normandy had faith that what they were doing was right, faith that they fought for all humanity, faith that a just God would grant them mercy on this beachhead or on the next. It was the deep knowledge -- and pray God we have not lost it -- that there is a profound, moral difference between the use of force for liberation and the use of force for conquest. You were here to liberate, not to conquer, and so you and those others did not doubt your cause. And you were right not to doubt.
You all knew that some things are worth dying for. One's country is worth dying for, and democracy is worth dying for, because it's the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man. All of you loved liberty. All of you were willing to fight tyranny, and you knew the people of your countries were behind you.
On 6 June 2012, President Barack Obama did not bother to commemorate D-Day. He did, however, fly to Hollywood to attend six separate fundraisers, including one that featured Cher in the front row of the audience.
President Obama had one of the biggest star-studded fundraising nights of his re-election campaign last night, less than a month after he attended a celebrity fundraiser hosted by George Clooney in May... Obama attended two LGBT (Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender) events - one in San Francisco and one in Los Angeles - that featured Hollywood stars Ellen DeGeneres, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon and Glee actors Jane Lynch and Darrin Criss.

Obama: Lord High Executioner
Dan from New York (who now has a well-deserved gig at PJMedia's Tatler) sends this one along:
And if you're a conservative talk-radio host or a conservative blogger, I wouldn't worry (much) about reports that the administration will now deploy flying drones over the United States.
Finally, Obama finds a job that suits him: playing god.
Barack Obama: Drone warrior
Dead terrorists can’t talk.
By CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER
A very strange story, a 6,000-word front-page New York Times piece on how, every Tuesday, Barack Obama shuffles “baseball cards” with the pictures and bios of suspected terrorists from around the world and chooses who shall die by drone strike. He even reserves for himself the decision of whether to proceed when the probability of killing family members or bystanders is significant.
The article could have been titled “Barack Obama: Drone Warrior.” Great detail on how Obama personally runs the assassination campaign. On-the-record quotes from the highest officials. This was no leak. This was a White House press release.
...The Osama-slayer card having been vastly overplayed, what to do? A new card: Obama, drone warrior, steely and solitary, delivering death with cool dispatch to the rest of the al-Qaida depth chart.
So the peacemaker, Nobel laureate, nuclear disarmer, apologizer to the world for America having lost its moral way when it harshly interrogated the very people Obama now kills, has become – just in time for the 2012 campaign – Zeus the Avenger, smiting by lightning strike.
A rather strange ethics. You go around the world preening about how America has turned a new moral page by electing a president profoundly offended by George W...
...You festoon your prisoners with rights – but you take no prisoners. The morality is perverse. Which is why the results are so mixed. We do kill terror operatives, an important part of the war on terror, but we gratuitously forfeit potentially life-saving intelligence.
But that will cost us later. For now, we are to bask in the moral seriousness and cool purpose of our drone warrior president.
And if you're a conservative talk-radio host or a conservative blogger, I wouldn't worry (much) about reports that the administration will now deploy flying drones over the United States.
The View's Barbara Walters: Swapping Favors With a Genocidal Maniac for an Exclusive Interview
Craven and disgusting doesn't begin to describe it.
In short, Walters appeared to violate every journalistic canon just to secure an interview with a mass-murdering dictator.
Although CNN does seem to be an appropriate destination for Assad's pals, given its history with Eason Jordan and the like.

Barbara Walters acted as a 'adoptive mother' and 'careers adviser' to a glamorous former aide of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
...In a string of leaked emails between Sheherazad Jafaari and the celebrated broadcaster, Ms Walters, 82, promised to... help the 22-year-old secure a job on Piers Morgan's CNN show and win a place at Columbia University... Mrs Walters first began dealing with Ms Jaafari when ABC News was in talks to arrange the first and only televised interview for an American network with the Syrian leader.
...Ms Jafaari['s] father is Syria's U.S. ambassador... Ms Walters emailed Columbia Journalism School professor Richard Wald, former president of NBC News and vice president of ABC News, to sing Ms Jaafari's praises... 'She is brilliant, beautiful, speaks five languages. Anything you can do to help?' Ms Walters wrote at the end of January.

Another day, another leak of highly classified information designed to benefit Obama 2012: Details of the Stuxnet cyber-attack on Iran revealed
The Sophos Naked Security Blog summarizes another leak of highly classified information published by The New York Times, which -- coincidentally, I'm sure -- is spun to benefit President Obama's reelection campaign.
As usual, the Times tries to overly emphasize President Obama's involvement when, in fact, Bush 43 initiated the effort and reportedly had to beg his successor to continue the project.
To this day, Stuxnet remains the most amazing virtual ordnance in history.

The report comes from David E. Sanger, the Chief Washington correspondent at The New York Times and author of the upcoming book "Confront and Conceal: Obama’s Secret Wars and Surprising Use of American Power"... Here is a quick summary of the claims made in the report:
Feeling threatened by the possibility that Iran would enrich uranium at a nuclear facility at Natanz that could be used to create weapons of mass destruction, US President George W Bush initiated a plan to seize control of computer systems at the plant.
The first part of the plan (dubbed "Olympic Games") was to embed spying code that would send back information about the computer systems' operations and draw up a blueprint of how the computers controlled centrifuges at the plant. After months of waiting for the information to be relayed, the National Security (NSA) and Israeli computer experts created a worm (Stuxnet) that would allow them to attack from within the plant.
According to the report, the USA felt compelled to involve Israel in the plan to prevent the country launching a pre-emptive military strike of their own against the nuclear facility... The USA secretly built a replica of Natanz's computer systems, including centrifuges handed over by Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi in 2003, to test their malware...
Tests were successful, and the worm's orders to slow down and speed up the centrifuge's delicate parts caused them to suffer damage. At one point, it's said that debris from a damaged centrifuge was laid across the conference table at the White House's Situation Room to demonstrate the malware's potential power.
With the malware deemed ready, it was introduced into the Natanz plant via infected USB memory sticks by spies and unwitting workers with physical access to computer systems... As centrifuges failed, Iranian workers would close down the systems looking for signs of sabotage - not realising that their computer systems were compromised.
Days before Barack Obama was inaugurated as US President, George Bush successfully urged him to continue the classified "Olympic Games" program...
The attacks on the nuclear plant's systems continued, but potential disaster struck in mid-2010, when it became clear that "an error in the code" had allowed Stuxnet to spread beyond Natanz's systems and infect computers in the outside world...
As usual, the Times tries to overly emphasize President Obama's involvement when, in fact, Bush 43 initiated the effort and reportedly had to beg his successor to continue the project.
To this day, Stuxnet remains the most amazing virtual ordnance in history.

Obama: Some of my best friends are Jews!
Oh, my.
In 2008, Gateway Pundit's Jim Hoft penned the best summary of Obama's extremist ties I've yet read:
The complete roster of Obama's friends and supporters, first published in 2008, is truly eye-opening.

From Haaretz:
Earlier Tuesday afternoon, Obama and White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew met about 20 Conservative Jewish community leaders. ...
"I not going to tell you again how I even feel about Israel, but why [are] we still talking about it," Obama said, reminding his guests that all his friends in Chicago were Jewish - and at the beginning of his political career he was accused of being a puppet of the Israel lobby. ...
Obama also stressed he probably knows about Judaism more than any other president, because he read about it - and wondered how come no one asks Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner or Senate minority leader Mitch McConnel [sic] about their support to Israel."
... 1. The reason no one asks John Boehner or Mitch McConnell about their support for Israel is ... because they really do support Israel. The reason people ask Barack Obama about his support for Israel is because his support for Israel has been equivocal. [Ed: at best.]
2. It's truly pathetic that Obama has to reach for the tired (to say the least) trope that some of his best friends were Jewish. Actually, one wishes more of his best friends were pro-Israel Christians. They might have had more luck convincing him, a fellow Christian, that he should be pro-Israel.
3. And the claim that Obama knows more about Judaism than any president? His vanity boggles the mind. One could begin by citing Adams and Madison, who knew Hebrew, or Harry Truman, who knew Jewish history ... but it's silly to dignify this claim with a rebuttal. In thinking about the presidents since Truman, though, I'd guess the president who knew the most about Judaism was Jimmy Carter, who taught Sunday school and had a deep interest in religion. So let's stipulate that of the modern presidents, Carter and Obama "know" the most about Judaism. But what is it they know? In Obama's case, one could ask whether what he “knows” is what he learned from Rashid Khalidi and Jeremiah Wright.
In 2008, Gateway Pundit's Jim Hoft penned the best summary of Obama's extremist ties I've yet read:
Anyone who believes that Barack Obama, who spent 20 years in a Jew-hating church, with a Jew-hating pastor, and hung around Jew haters, is going to be a friend of Israel is a fool.
The complete roster of Obama's friends and supporters, first published in 2008, is truly eye-opening.
