I BELIEVE IRAN HAS A CLANDESTINE AGENT-OF-INFLUENCE BURROWED IN ACADEMIA: And His Name is Alan Dershowitz

Oh, now he tells us, just weeks after a pivotal election in which he backed the most virulently anti-Israel president in U.S. history.

President's Nomination of Hagel May Encourage Iran's Nuclear Ambitions

by Alan M. Dershowitz - January 7, 2013 at 1:30 pm

President Obama's nomination of Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense risks increasing the likelihood that Iran will develop nuclear weapons. It poses that risk because Hagel is well known for his opposition both to sanctions against Iran and to employing the military option if necessary.

These views are inconsistent with the very different views expressed by President Obama. The President has emphasized on numerous occasions that he will never allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons and will use military force if necessary to prevent that "game changer."

The nomination of Hagel thus sends a mixed message to the mullahs in Tehran, who will likely interpret it as a change from a red light to a yellow or green one when it comes to their desire to develop nuclear weapons... This is the wrong time to send mixed messages by nominating a man who has, at best, a mixed record with regard to sanctions and the military option against Iran and with regard to having Israel's back.

I can come to no other conclusion that Dershowitz is a clandestine agent for Iran, with op-eds like these serving as cover.

Well, it's either that or he's a delusional, progressive hack.

UK TEXTBOOK FINALLY ACHIEVES AHMEDINEJAD'S DREAM: Wipes Israel Off the Map

Consider this Exhibit 7,038 demonstrating that England is headed down the crapper -- and fast.

Ahmadinejad promised it. Now British textbooks are doing it. Israel has been wiped off the map by Garnet Education, an English-language teaching company in Britain, whose educational textbook 'Skills in English Writing Level 1', aimed at foreign students and immigrants to the UK, contains a map with "Occupied Palestine" in place of the Jewish State.

Speaking to the Algemeiner, the prominent American Jewish newspaper which broke the story, school teacher Liz Wiseman noted that the book is "one of the more popular and mainstream English language teaching (ELT) textbooks published by Garnet, which is quite popular and mainstream itself."

...Using textbooks as propaganda, however, is not a new story. In 2007, it emerged that the King Fahd Academy school in London was using textbooks encouraged by the Saudi Ministry for Education, which described Jews as "apes" and Christians as "pigs". According to the Evening Standard, pupils were allegedly heard saying they want to "kill Americans", praise 9/11 and idolise Osama bin Laden as their "hero".

In the same year, an investigation by The Times uncovered that Mahmood Chandia, a senior lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire, was teaching that music is a way in which Jews spread "the Satanic web" to corrupt young Muslims.

In 2010, it was revealed that the leading geography textbook for British school students encouraged students to ask questions such as "Why did the Jews seize land that is now Israel?" The textbook also sought to excuse terrorism, informing school students that "Palestinians feel powerless. They have no country, no government, no army and few resources - so they resort to bombing to make their point".

Sadly, these are but a few examples from many...

With "friends" like these characters and Egypt's leaders, keep Israel in your prayers.

Arab Money and the Purchase of a President

Guest post by John A. Shaw

In the run-up to the 2012 election, a story surfaced about an Iraqi billionaire who managed to buy access to Washington policy makers while funding a Chicago Pay-to-Play scheme that helped produce a Governor, a U.S. Senator, and, ultimately, a President of the United States.

The story was eight years in the making, yet despite the extent of his political influence, this Iraqi’s name remains largely unknown. He wants it that way. In fact, he has spent a significant sum attempting to hinder the reporting of his activities by the news media. The lack of attention paid to him, however, is inversely proportional to his level of importance.

His name is Nadhmi Auchi.

Auchi is now a British citizen. He bought respectability in Britain and in Europe through both donations to charities and self-serving gifts to politicians.

He was once Saddam Hussein’s arms merchant. He morphed into Saddam’s main financial operative in Europe. Today, he is one of the richest men in the world, and has, over the last few decades, been a player in nearly every noteworthy, corrupt, international deal involving Europe and the Middle East.

He was convicted of fraud in a $504 million corruption scandal -- the Elf Aquitaine case – the largest corruption trial in French history.

He was a central figure in one of the largest corruption cases during the Iraqi reconstruction, involving $3 billion dollars.

His U.S. visa was revoked for his alleged facilitation of $30 million in bribes to American and British officials in Iraq.

Auchi was a primary beneficiary of the widely abused and notoriously corrupt U.N. "Oil for Food" program while he was the single, largest stockholder in the merged French megabank BNP Parisbas. The bank was a major conduit for the funds flowing through the U.N. program.

He also reportedly gained access to the White House over the course of four separate administrations, beginning with George H. W. Bush, through the Clinton era and that of Bush 43. And it goes without saying that he was intimately involved with the political career of one Barack H. Obama.

Auchi's Chicago proxy was a man named Tony Rezko, best known for his curious land deal with Obama. At the same time, Auchi staged his worldwide operations out of London. But Chicago was the Alpha and Omega of his empire.

Rezko reportedly used Auchi money to grease political skids and buy access into the shadowy world of the Chicago political machine.

REMEMBER HOW DIANNE FEINSTEIN USED TO CARRY A SEMI-AUTOMATIC AROUND TO PROTECT HERSELF? Yeah, that was fun. Good times.

There's hypocrisy. There's weapons-grade hypocrisy. And then there's Feinstein-level hypocrisy.

On April 27, 1995, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) spoke at the US Senate hearing on terrorism shortly after the Oklahoma City bombing.

During the hearing, she referenced her concealed carry permit and how she carried a gun with her in the 1970's, citing the urge to arm yourself for protection- in her case from threats...

"I know the sense of helplessness that people feel. I know the urge to arm yourself because that's what I did. I was trained in firearms. I walked to the hospital when my husband was sick. I carried a concealed weapon and I made the determination if somebody was going to try and take me out, I was going to take them with me."

In 1994, Sen. Feinstein championed the federal assault weapons ban which expired in 2004 due to sunset provisions in the law.

Now, after recent shooting tragedies, Feinstein is making another push for tighter gun control.

In order to advance its ideological agenda, Mark Levin notes that the Left always twists the language:

• A "military-style weapon" is a semi-automatic rifle that resembles a military weapon, but operates precisely like a traditional hunting rifle;

• An "assault weapon", likewise, is a hunting rifle that looks scary;

• And a "high-capacity magazine" is a clip that holds more cartridges than some arbitrary threshold your betters arrived at.

As for the British CNN host Piers Morgan -- who invites actual experts on his show only to shout apoplectic epithets at them -- perhaps a brief history lesson in in order:

It's called Democide. And, if history is any guide, free people have much more to fear from their governments than each other.

MEET YOUR PROSPECTIVE NEW SECRETARY OF DEFENSE: Chuck Hagel's Greatest Hits

So long, Israel: it was nice knowing you.
• "The Jewish lobby intimidates a lot of people up here."

• "I'm a United States Senator, not an Israeli Senator."

• In 2002, a year in which 457 Israelis were killed in terrorist attacks (a figure proportionately equivalent to more than 20,000 fatalities in the U.S., or seven 9/11s), Mr. Hagel weighed in with the advice that "Israel must take steps to show its commitment to peace." This was two years after Yasser Arafat had been offered a state by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak at Camp David.

• In 2006, Mr. Hagel described Israel's war against Hezbollah as "the systematic destruction of an American friend, the country and people of Lebanon."

• In 2007, he voted against designating Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps as a terrorist organization.

• In 2009, Mr. Hagel urged the Obama administration to open direct talks with Hamas.

• In 2008, Mr. Hagel and John Kerry co-authored an op-ed in this newspaper titled "It's Time to Talk to Syria."

• "The United States and Israel must understand that it is not in their long-term interests to allow themselves to become isolated in the Middle East and the world," he said in a 2006 Senate speech. It's a political Deep Thought worthy of Saturday Night Live's Jack Handey. Does Mr. Hagel reckon any other nation to be quite so blind to its own supposed self-interest as Israel?

I don't think we've ever had a SECDEF with such a, eh, predilection for terrorists before. But, then again, this administration is historic.

TABLET: Why Israel Has No Newtowns

Although it is awash in guns, Israel suffered only 58 gun deaths last year, compared with 10,728 Americans.

For anyone truly interested in policy prescriptions grounded in real world experience, please consider "Why Israel Has No Newtowns":

[In Israel, a]nyone can come up with an excuse to legally own a gun. I have personally witnessed more than one friend apply under false premises, claiming that their work required that they travel to settlements and other high-risk areas, and walk out, a short while later, with pistols much like the ones used in Aurora or Columbine. Assault rifles, admittedly, are harder to come by in Israel...

...It doesn’t take much of an expert to realize that these restrictions, in and of themselves, do not constitute much by way of gun control. And even though there have been no Newtown-style mass shootings in Israel, the Israeli government has tightened the reins over the past decade, passing a series of additional restrictions and placing further emphasis on enforcement. The result was clear: In 2000, there were approximately 400,000 legally owned firearms in Israel, the majority of them handguns, and the number of illegal weapons stood at about 150,000...

Ten years later, thanks largely to the new strictures, the ratio was reversed: 180,000 firearms were legally licensed, and more than 400,000 were illegally obtained, most of them assault rifles like the M-16 and the Galil, stolen from the Israel Defense Forces. Naturally, this led to an increase in the number of casualties, as it placed far mightier tools in the hands of criminals who were previously content to handle their affairs using the perfectly legal and readily available guns at their disposal...

How, then, to explain Israel’s relatively low rate of gun-related deaths? For Lior Nedivi, an independent firearms examiner in Jerusalem and the co-author of a comprehensive report comparing Israel’s gun laws and culture to that of the United States, the answer lies far from the law books. “An armed society,” Nedivi wrote, quoting the science fiction writer Robert A. Heinlein, “is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.” It may be a bit odd to think of Israeli society as polite, but when it comes to guns it is, and for just the reason articulated by Heinlein: When everyone has a gun, guns are no longer seen as talismans by weak, frightened, and unstable men seeking a sense of self-validation, but as killing machines that are to be handled with the utmost caution and care.

...If the United States, itself awash with weapons, wishes to benefit from Israel’s experience, it must make sure it learns the right lessons. The first and most universal one is that ever more stringent gun control is bad policy: As is the case with drugs, as was the case with liquor during Prohibition, the strict banning of anything does little but push the market underground into the hands of criminals and thugs. Rather than spend fortunes and ruin lives in a futile attempt to eradicate every last trigger in America, we would do well to follow Israel’s example and educate gun owners about their rights and responsibilities, so as to foster a culture of sensible and mindful gun ownership...

...Finally, there’s one more crucial, and tragically ignored, point to consider. In the aftermath of Friday’s shooting, a mother named Liza Long wrote a powerful essay in which she recounted the difficulties of raising her mentally ill son. A brilliant child, he is nonetheless prone to occasional fits of rage and violence. When she looked at the shooter this past Friday, Long felt a chilling sense of recognition...

...Rather than pretend that it was the objects in their hands rather than the afflictions in their minds that led Lanza and Holmes and Cho and the others to perpetrate their monstrosities, we should offer help to those young men and their families. We have no more compassionate route, and no greater hope for peace.

Read the whole thing. Then pass it on.

QOTD: Selective Amnesia Syndrome

Proving that the White House remains concerned about the Benghazi scandal, President Obama announced today that Amb. Susan Rice has withdrawn her name from consideration as a potential Secretary of State.

As for Quote o' the Day, Jon Gabriel wins in a landslide:

As for the reason for Rice's withdrawal?

The reason can only be fear. Next week, Hillary Clinton is supposed to testify before Congress about Libya. There are some indications Clinton may now back out, or resort to insisting on a closed session hidden from the public. Whatever the result, President Obama clearly does not want to give Congress any more high-profile chances to ask someone under oath what happened in the hours and days after Stevens was killed. Rice was at ground zero of the real scandal: not in Benghazi, where the attack occurred; but in Washington, where the cover-up was planned and executed.

Furthermore, Obama probably thought that sacrificing Rice, who still keeps her job as UN ambassador, would assuage some congressional critics and distract from a pending report on what happened in Benghazi. Most importantly, it eliminates the troubling possibility of a Rice confirmation hearing. That likely still would have led to a confirmation victory for Obama—but a pyrrhic one given the ability of most Americans to sniff out a liar.

A HORRIFYING PREVIEW OF OBAMACARE: 6 in 10 Veterans Administration claim denials are in error

So reports Army Times in a sobering report on the state of a typical, government-run health care system:

A new report on an old problem contains some sad statistics about veterans’ benefits claims:

• Thirty-one percent of claims filed with the Veterans Affairs Department are likely to be denied — and 60 percent of those denials will be erroneous.

• Sixty percent of claims will take longer than 125 days to be processed, more than 7 percent of claims will be misplaced, and 4 percent will be completely lost.

• A veteran calling VA’s benefits hotline has just a 49 percent chance of being connected to someone and receiving a correct answer.

...Based on a review of the 870,000 benefits claims pending before VA in 2011 — a number that has climbed to about 900,000 pending claims today... Even faster claims processing might be possible by contracting out administrative services or transferring claims processing from the federal government to states, the report says. It recommends expanded pilot programs to test those ideas.

The nonpartisan National Center for Policy Analysis, which specializes in retirement and health care programs, is skeptical about VA’s stated goal of eliminating the claims backlog by the end of 2015.

VA “is barely able to process current claims,” the report says, “and has exhibited little to no progress toward their stated goal of 125 days and 98 percent accuracy for processed claims by 2015.”

The federal government, in general, does a poor job of administering disability benefits and services, the report says, “as evidenced by the state of Social Security Disability.”

“But the Veterans Benefits Administration appears to be far worse.”

When Nancy Pelosi famously opined -- vis a vis Obamacare -- that we had to pass it to find out what's in it, she was wrong.

We know what's in government-run health care: a nice, juicy crap sandwich for everyone involved.

Picture our entire medical system administered by the BMV, the Post Office and the SEIU, combined.

MAP: The 61 countries most vulnerable to an Internet shutdown

Last week Syria's government shut down access to the Internet, presumably to prevent new reports of its war crimes from leaking to the outside world.

Which begs the question: which countries are most susceptible to a government-mandate shutdown of the Internet?

For 52 hours last week, Syria joined the unfortunate club of countries whose governments have chosen, however briefly, to return their citizens to the digital dark ages. That club, which also includes Egypt and Myanmar, remains small for now. But if you live in any of these five dozen countries, it could happen to you, too.

In the wake of Syria’s digital blackout last week, the networking firm Renesys performed an analysis of which countries are most susceptible to an Internet shutdown, based simply on how many distinct entities control the connections between the country’s networks and those of the outside world. It found that for 61 countries and territories, just one or two Internet service providers maintain all external connections–a situation that could make possible a quick cutoff from the world with a well-placed government order or physical attack.

On Monday, Renesys published its full list of countries and territories at various levels of Internet shutdown risk. And here are the places it put in the “severe risk” category.

Andorra, Anguilla, Netherland Antilles, Aruba, Ã…land Islands, Barbados, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, Bhutan, Central African Republic, Cote D’Ivoire, Cook Islands, Cuba, Djibouti, Dominica, Ethiopia, Faroe Islands, Grenada, French Guiana, Greenland, Gambia, Guinea, Guadeloupe, Guyana, British Indian Ocean Territory, Jersey, Comoros, Saint Kitts And Nevis, North Korea, Lesotho, Libya, Monaco, Saint Martin (French and Dutch parts), Marshall Islands, Mali, Myanmar, Mauritania, Norfolk Island, Nauru, French Polynesia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Palau, Réunion, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Suriname, South Sudan, Sao Tome and Principe, Syria, Swaziland, Turks and Caicos, Chad, Tokelau, Timor-Leste, Turkmenistan, Tunisia, Tonga, Uzbekistan, Vatican City, Wallis and Futuna, and Yemen.

Just give President Obama a little time. With a little effort, he'll be able to get us on this list.

PHOTOS DEPICT RESULTS OF LEADING FROM BEHIND: Syrian Rebels Upload Aftermath of Chemical Weapons Attack on Civilians

Unless Syria's anti-Assad rebels have a full-blown, Hollywood-style makeup department, these snaps of a video uploaded yesterday appear authentic and consistent with a chem attack:

Syrian rebels on Saturday uploaded to YouTube a clip purportedly depicting victims of a chemical weapons attack perpetrated by the regime. The video shows Syrian civilians, some apparently dead and others injured, whose faces were disfigured in a manner that could be caused by a chemical agent.

The rebels claim that the video was filmed in a suburb of Aleppo, where the Syrian regime reportedly maintains its largest depot of chemical weapons.

Citing intelligence reports, British Foreign Secretary William Hague on Saturday warned that the Syrian government might use its sizable stockpile of chemical weapons against the rebels fighting to overturn Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime, AFP reported.

“We are extremely concerned about the stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and we are also concerned about evidence during the last couple of weeks that the regime could use them,” Hague said on the sidelines of a regional security conference in Manama, the capital of Bahrain.

The London-based Sunday Times reported that Israeli commandos were on the ground in Syria, monitoring the regime’s chemical weapons depots.

“For years we’ve known the exact location of Syria’s chemical and biological munitions,” an Israeli source said was quoted as saying. “But in the past week we’ve got signs that munitions have been moved to new locations.”

And where did these chemical weapons come from? Saddam Hussein, it turns out. But don't hold your breath waiting for the Leftists to apologize to George W. Bush vis a vis WMDs.

I'm so confused. Didn't Hillary Clinton call Syria's dictator "a reformer" little more than a year ago?

But, hey: it's time for another presidential vacation. Nothing of significance seems to be happening either here in the U.S. or abroad.

WE'RE HEADED FOR ANOTHER 9/11 ONLY WITH DEADLIER WEAPONS: Dick Cheney takes a flamethrower to Obama

The ramifications of President Obama's foreign policy and national security decisions are utterly predictable -- and provably catastrophic. Speaking at the Hudson Institute earlier this week, former Vice President Dick Cheney served notice to the Democrat Party and its sycophants.

It’s a very very dangerous part of the world.. and when I hear that our President got Bin Laden, problem solved... that Al Queda is toast, that they are significantly diminished and that we can pivot now because the United States no longer has to be concerned about developments in that part of the world and focus our efforts on Asia, I am on the one-hand appalled.

...We have got more territory now in that part of the world when you start to add up all the areas that have come or are coming under the influence of the Muslim brotherhood and the radical Islamists. There is a lot more land and territory there for safe harbors and sanctuaries for terrorists than we ever faced back in the time of 9/11. That entire part of the world appears to be or a good part of it certainly to be moving in the direction that is fundamentally hostile to the long term US interest and yet we are, seem to be unable to influence events in that part of the world partly because we are headed for the exits and everybody knows we are headed for the exits.

We pulled out of Iraq, we didn’t even bother to negotiate the final agreement that was traditional in those kind of relationships. We are well on our way out of Afghanistan and we have a president who's been to Cairo and one of the first things he did was to apologize for the U.S. reaction to 9/11, alleging that we quote “overreacted and fallen away from our basic traditional values”...

...Faced with a very real prospect that an area of the world that has spawned terrorists by the thousands some who’ve come to the United States and killed Americans, Al Qaeda is back in business. The United Stated, which once used to dominate that part of the world not long ago, who had valued allies and bases throughout the area, that had been looked to for leadership... for example at the time when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, we were able to muster some 36 or 37 nations to gather with us to liberate Kuwait and send Saddam back into Iraq. And we got the rest of the world to pay 50 out of the 55 billion dollar cost of the exercise. That day is gone...

I think certainly in my conversations with many of our allies, they no longer believe us, they no longer trust us, they no longer believe they can count of the United States of America to do what we did 20 years ago... the President can make bold statements and bold talk as he did in the past couple of days about developments in Syria, but I don’t think they care. Unless something fundamentally different happens, I have grave doubts that he is prepared to do anything with Syria, except hope that he can get away what he has up until now by saying, "well, I got Bin Laden, problem solved." It’s far from solved if anything the national security threat we face is as serious as is the economic one.

When you add to that the enormous damage that is and is about to be done to the United States military with a trillion dollar cut... when you add up what’s already on the budget as well as take out another 500 billion we are doing long term damage to our military capabilities...

So what we are doing today, by way of damaging the US military is going to be a fact of life that future presidents are going to have to deal with. Barack Obama isn’t just dealing with his budget problems; he in fact is restricting the future capabilities of the next president two or three times down the road in terms of our capacity to be able to deal with fundamental threats to the United States and they are out there and we can be absolutely certain that there are people out there tonight planning to do what happened on 9/11 only with deadlier weapons than 19 hijackers armed with airline tickets and box cutters.

This disarmament is precisely what Trevor Loudon has been warning us about for years. America -- starting with its "imperialism" (strong national defense) and "wealth inequality" (capitalism) -- must be fundamentally transformed.

President Obama Commemorates Pearl Harbor Anniversary With Poignant, Haunting Photograph of... Himself

Well, this is certainly out of character.

On the 71st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, President Obama commemorated the somber occasion by honoring … President Obama. The White House Twitter account sent out this photo today (taken in 2011):

It’s as if he is physically and mentally incapable of paying tribute to anyone other than himself...

Barack Obama: A president whose narcissism will live in infamy...

Heaven forbid that the president remember Pearl Harbor with a photograph like this:

Or this:

Misunderstanders of Islam Arrested Trying to Bring WMDs into U.S.

But let's give 'em a state!

Two Pakistan-born brothers living in Florida have been arrested on charges of providing support to terrorists and conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction within the United States, authorities said on Friday.

The men were charged in a grand jury indictment announced by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. Federal prosecutors allege the men, both U.S. citizens, provided money, housing, communications equipment and transportation as part of a conspiracy.

A statement from prosecutors said the brothers’ alleged goal was “to use a weapon of mass destruction (explosives) against persons and property within the United States“. It did not elaborate and U.S. officials declined to go into details but said the arrests were not the result of a sting operation.

... “Any potential threat posed by these two individuals has been disrupted,” U.S. Attorney Wifredo Ferrer said in a statement.

The accused were identified as Raees Alam Qazi, 20, and Sheheryar Alam Qazi, 30. They were arrested on Thursday in Fort Lauderdale and made an initial appearance in federal court on Friday.

This thought just popped into my head: the word irony can be defined as "The New York Times building being leveled by a WMD originally manufactured in Iraq under Saddam Hussein."

WELL DONE, SUSAN RICE: Which countries voted to recognize the latest collection of genocidal maniacs at the United Nations

Twitchy points us to the following map:

Heckuva job, Susan! UN’s Palestine vote yet another failure for Amb. Rice

...On Wednesday, President Obama said he “couldn’t be prouder” of the “extraordinary” UN Amb. Susan Rice. Really? Heckuva job, Susan...

...Yep, that sea of green and black was Rice’s followup to her role in misleading Americans on the nature of the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. Only eight nations joined the United States in voting “no” on granting Palestine nonmember observer status at the United Nations. Only eight. And instead of being fired, she may be up for a promotion to Secretary of State...

...And as [former State Department official Richard] Grenell notes, Rice “skipped the last open meeting before the planned UN vote to recognize Palestinian statehood.” That’s what Obama calls “extraordinary"...

Please recall that the Palestinian Authority, in addition to its terrorist roots and its non-stop curriculum of genocide for its children, was inspired by Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich.

And that what really happened in the Middle East is something you'll never see while watching antique media.

MEDIAITE'S CALIPHATE CHEERLEADER: The Tommy Christopher Chronicles [Updated]

My apologies for the following photo.

This disturbing visage belongs to one Tommy Christopher, the most extreme of Mediaite's eclectic collection of leftist kooks, losers and outcasts. You've never heard of him before, because: (a) he writes for Mediaite; and (b) he's such a radical leftist, even for Mediaite, that the editors have had to tamp down his enthusiastic support for the modern, Marxist-dominated Democrat Party.

In other words, he's an outcast among outcasts.

And his latest masterwork -- "Be Thankful Barack Obama Is President During Latest Gaza Violence" -- offers us an intriguing glimpse into the illogic, inanity, and moral depravity of the American progressive.

White House Reporter Tommy Christopher declares: “Elections have consequences, but rarely do they become as evident, as quickly, as they have with regard to the recent violence in and around Gaza.” The Israel-Hamas truce, he writes, has saved lives “and it would not have happened without the United States’ involvement.”

In contrast with President Obama’s performance, Christopher points to Mitt Romney’s statements about the Palestinians in the secretly-recorded video published by Mother Jones in September as evidence “Romney was never up to the job of replacing” Obama...

...How do you make peace with someone committed to your destruction? Hamas’ military wing this past week boasted to Israel that they “love death more than you love life.” Even Mahmoud Abbas’ Palestinian Authority which rules the West Bank hasn’t always shown its peace-embracing side. The Palestinian Authority gives generous monthly salaries to convicted terrorists serving time in Israel for killing Israelis – the more severe the crime, the higher the salary. Since the U.S. gives aid to the Palestinian Authority, that means the American taxpayer is funding handouts to terrorists. These being but a few of the countless examples of the Palestinians’ glorifying terrorism, was it really such a stretch for Romney to conclude the Palestinians don’t appear to want a peaceful resolution to the conflict?

Interestingly, Christopher ignores the obvious correlation between Obama's reelection and the timing of the Hamas terror attacks.

It is impossible not to notice the timing of this week’s incipient Middle East regional war. It comes approximately one week after Barack Obama was re-elected to the presidency. Last Tuesday, Obama won re-election; four days later, Hamas began firing rockets on Israel’s southern cities in a new wave. The day after that, Syria began shelling Israeli positions in the north. And two days after that, the Palestinian Authority told the press that they would be making another bid for statehood at the United Nations; the same day, riots began in Jordan over gas price increases... The region is descending into war because of weakness in the White House...

But the Hamas terror group's latest offensive represents only a tiny fraction of the foreign policy failures for which the Obama administration is directly responsible.

• Failed to support Iran's "Green Revolution", which could have deposed Iran's radical dictatorship without a shot being fired

• Threw an ally -- Egypt's Hosni Mubarak -- under the bus, which led to the Nazi-aligned Muslim Brotherhood seizing power

• Has failed to strenuously protest Egypt's "President" seizing dictatorial powers

• Allowed Libya's government to fall, yielding to the rise of Al Qaeda in the region and resulting in the deaths of four Americans in a terror attack

• Resisted hard-line sanctions against Iran until Mitt Romney's visit to Israel panicked the Obama administration and forced it into implementing sanctions with "teeth"

• Congratulated Tunisia's radical Islamist government for taking power

• Watched silently as Syria's Iranian-controlled fascist dictator has slaughtered tens of thousands of its own people

Tommy Christopher is a hack and a joke. The only way President Obama's foreign policies can be considered successful is if the goal is the creation of a new Caliphate.
