RUSH: Benghazi Just Blew Up in Bob Schieffer's Face

Not that you've ever watched the show, but an octogenarian named Bob Schieffer reportedly hosts CBS News' Deface the Nation. It was on that show, and several others, that Obama apparatchik Susan Rice was trotted out to market absolute falsehoods in the immediate aftermath of the Benghazi attack.

Earlier today, Rush Limbaugh used everything but brass knuckles and two-by-fours on Schieffer and the fascist media that used Benghazi as a platform to attack Mitt Romney and protect Barack Obama.

...[An important aspect of this] particular story ... is that Greg Hicks says that he knew Susan Rice was lying when she appeared on those five talk shows, and he was not happy about it.

He knew she was lying when she said that all this happened because of this video. And the fourth point that's made, according to Greg Hicks, is that Susan Rice directly contradicted the president of the Libya who said Benghazi was a terrorist attack right before she came on, and this led Libya to delay the FBI's access to Benghazi. Do you remember we were all wondering, "Where's the FBI? Why aren't they there?" Well, the reason is the president of Libya had been embarrassed on TV. He was on CBS and he said it was a terrorist attack...

...He finishes, and Susan Rice comes out and says, "No, no, no, it wasn't a terrorist attack. It was this video guy!" The president of Libya said, "You're gonna call me out like that?" So he kept the FBI at bay and delayed their access to Benghazi, which hurt their investigation tremendously...

...For weeks after the administration continued to try to blame the video, some video that nobody had seen. The filmmaker, by the way, of that video is still in jail somewhere in California. Hillary and Obama cut public service announcement type commercials that ran on Pakistan TV, apologizing for the United States and that video, claiming that all of this protest activity had nothing to do with anything other than that video.

None of that was true. Bob Schieffer, ABC, NBC, Washington Post, New York Times, MSNBC, CNN, you name it, all ran with the video story for weeks. And now the number two man is coming forth and saying none of that is true. That's what this is all about. Bob Schieffer's got an exclusive here 'cause Hicks' testimony was leaked to them first, his upcoming testimony. So all of this that is being reported yesterday and today in the Drive-By Media was known before the election, folks, all of it was. So Obama gets reelected under false pretenses under a timeline story that's made up.

...Who was the person most attacked in the days after the Benghazi attack? Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney was the person most attacked in the media after Benghazi because he dared issue a statement after the protests in Cairo. He dared act presidential during the campaign, and the media launched into him as creating problems for America. It's not his role to speak out. It's not his responsibility. He shouldn't be doing it. He should shut up. Mitt Romney was portrayed as an absolute irresponsible idiot for jumping to conclusions...

[The key question is:] "How can we trust them to deal with anything?" This is my point. I practically beg people to understand: When looking at what the Democrat Party does, and everything they control -- the State Department this case -- everything is political. Everything is tied to an agenda. It's their agenda and their party first, and you have to look at them that way. It's not a question of trusting the State Department. How do you trust them to deal with anything? You have to learn to interpret the Democrat Party as moving their political agenda forward with every instance that happens in life.

That's a great point. If given the choice between doing what's best for the American people and advancing the progressive agenda, the typical Democrat will pretend the first option doesn't even exist.

LEFT TO DIE: Obama and Clinton blocked special forces -- only an hour away -- from rescuing beleaguered Benghazi annex

They didn't have to die. Ex-Navy SEALs -- and the heroes of Benghazi -- Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods didn't have to die. That much is clear from the latest appalling revelation now confirmed by multiple whistleblowers.

The deputy of slain U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens has told congressional investigators that a team of Special Forces prepared to fly from Tripoli to Benghazi during the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks was forbidden from doing so by U.S. Special Operations Command Africa [Ed: a one hour trip].

The account from Gregory Hicks is in stark contrast to assertions from the Obama administration, which insisted that nobody was ever told to stand down and that all available resources were utilized. Hicks gave private testimony to congressional investigators last month...

...SOCAFRICA commander Lt. Col. Gibson and his team were on their way to board a C-130 from Tripoli for Benghazi prior to an attack on a second U.S. compound "when [Col. Gibson] got a phone call from SOCAFRICA which said, 'you can't go now, you don't have the authority to go now.' And so they missed the flight ... They were told not to board the flight, so they missed it."

No assistance arrived from the U.S. military outside of Libya during the hours that Americans were under attack or trapped inside compounds by hostile forces armed with rocket-propelled grenades, mortars and AK-47 rifles... Hicks told congressional investigators that if the U.S. had quickly sent a military aircraft over Benghazi, it might have saved American lives. The U.S. Souda Bay Naval Base is an hour's flight from Libya.

I believe that if -- I believe if we had been able to scramble a fighter or aircraft or two over Benghazi as quickly as possible after the attack commenced, I believe there would not have been a mortar attack on the annex in the morning because I believe the Libyans would have split. They would have been scared to death that we would have gotten a laser on them and killed them...

In other words: Obama, Hillary and Carney lied. And people died.

Why? Why would they engage in such despicable behavior, even lying to Congress?

Months ago, Sara Marie Brenner proffered an excellent summary of the political climate during the month of September, 2012 that could explain the willful inaction of the Obama administration:

In Sep. 2012, the DNC convention occurred a week prior to the Benghazi terrorist attack, and it’s theme was rooted in Barack Obama’s perceived foreign policy success.

We heard the phrase “Osama Bin Laden is dead, and al-Qaeda is on the run,” along with John Kerry’s famous one-liner, “ask Osama bin Laden if he’s better off now than four years ago.”

Make no mistake, this hawkish message was calculated by Obama’s reelection team, and used to distract from the administration’s unpopular domestic policies... During a hotly contested battle for reelection, the 24/7 news coverage of a terrorist attack on a U. S. Consulate by an al-Qaeda insurgency within a country Obama ‘liberated’ would be, in a word, devastating. Thus, the political calculation to attack, delay and mislead was launched with little regard for the truth nor the lives lost. Unfortunately, the Obama campaign succeeded by using tactics allowing scarcely enough time to secure The President’s re-election.

• Tactic one: The White House immediately attacks Mitt Romney for speaking out about the Benghazi attack and Obama’s foreign policy mistakes prior to the president’s official response.

• Tactic two: MSM falls in line, picking up the White House’s attack Romney narrative. Immediate post-Benghazi coverage is focused on the timing of Mitt Romney’s statement rather than on the attack itself. The MSM’s attack Mitt coverage allowed enough time for low information voters to be influenced by tactic three.

• Tactic three: Mislead the American people by, repeatedly blaming the attack’s source, not on al-Qaeda or terrorism, but instead on a non-existent, spontaneous demonstration to a supposedly disgusting, awful, anti-Muslim, video.

In a White House press briefing, Jay Carney illustrates the importance of the video narrative, saying: “…And I would note that, again, the protests we’re seeing around the region are in reaction to this movie. They are not directly in reaction to any policy of the United States or the government….”

So twisted and despicable is the Obama administration that it was willing to lie to the American people to retain its white-knuckled death grip on power.

So invested in the progressive agenda is the fascist media that it was willing to go to the mat to suppress the truth, a few brave souls like Sharyl Attkisson excepted.

Let me say for the record: Barack Obama must be impeached. Hillary Clinton needs to be charged with Perjury and Contempt of Congress. And Jay Carney? Well, Jay Carney may not have committed a crime, but he's a laughingstock and a contemptible human being.

DAMNING: The Complete Benghazi Timeline in Spreadsheet Format

Update: The latest version of the timeline is here.

The complete Benghazi timeline, now augmented with information culled by Stephen Hayes and the House Oversight Committee [PDF], leads me to four inescapable conclusions.

It is now clear to me that:

a) Hillary Clinton lied under oath to Congress.
b) Barack Obama went to sleep knowing that a U.S. Ambassador and other Americans were under terrorist attack.
c) Barack Obama awoke refreshed the next day to begin fundraising.
d) The entire Executive Branch lied repeatedly to the American people to save Obama's chances for reelection.

Could someone drag John Boehner out of whatever bar he's in, wake him up, and let him know: There is more than enough material for impeachment proceedings to begin and criminal charges levied against Hillary Clinton.

BREAKING: CNN confirms that Israeli jets struck Syrian chemical weapons installations

Guest post by The Tower

CNN reported tonight that Israel’s air force recently attacked a Syrian chemicals weapon cache, probably on Thursday or Friday and probably from within Lebanese airspace. The report cited Western intelligence sources, likely based on radar evidence. The CNN report comes days after Syrian opposition forces reported that IAF strikes had taken place on Syrian territory. The opposition reports also indicated that the Israeli attack targeted Syria’s chemical weapons program.

Israeli officials have been increasingly explicit in warning that Jerusalem would act to prevent the Syrian regime from crossing the double read line that Israeli officials had set at the onset of the Syrian conflict: no transfer of advanced Syrian weapons to terrorist allies of the embattled Bashar al-Assad and no seizure of those weapons by Al Qaeda-linked opponents fighting to overthrow the regime.

President Barack Obama has endorsed the Israeli position:

“That’s an issue that doesn’t just concern Syria. It concerns our close allies in the region, including Israel. It concerns us,” Obama said, also acknowledging the possibility that militant groups might acquire some of those weapons. “We cannot have a situation where chemical or biological weapons are falling into the hands of the wrong people.”

The president noted that he has not ordered any armed U.S. intervention yet, but said: “We have communicated in no uncertain terms with every player in the region, that that’s a red line for us, and that there would be enormous consequences if we start seeing movement on the chemical weapons front, or the use of chemical weapons. That would change my calculations significantly.”

The odds of transfer or seizure have dramatically increased in recent weeks.

Israeli officials publicly worried earlier this week that Assad’s forces had already transferred small amounts of chemical weapons to the Iran-backed terror group Hezbollah. For its part is thought to have poured literally thousands of fighters into Syria, and has become deeply embedded in the Syrian army’s battles against opposition forces. The regime has kept much of the Syrian army out of the fighting due to fears of defection. There are no such worries with Hezbollah’s fighters, and Hezbollah forces had already been deployed to guard Syrian WMD arsenals months ago. Iran and Hezbollah have also reportedly built an enormous force to seize control of Syria if necessary.

The risk of chemical weapons seizure has also spiked. Areas evacuated by Syrian forces, especially those around the border area with Israel, have been filled in by fighters from the Al Nusra Front. The beginning of April saw the largest redeployment of Syrian army forces in 40 years, and rebels are now within striking distance of Syria’s largest WMD caches. The Al Nusra Front is, according to the the State Department, merely an alias for Al Qaeda, and Al Nusra fighters have pledged allegiance to the global terrorist group. Islamist rebels in Syria have pledged to attack Israel and top Israeli military officials believe those attacks would include the use of chemical weapons.

Hanging over everything is an overarching uncertainty regarding the status of Syria’s chemical weapons. This week The Daily Beast revealed that the U.S. simply does not know the current status of all of Syria’s chemical weapons or who is in control of them:

As the White House mulls whether Syria has crossed President Obama’s red line and used chemical weapons, the U.S. military and intelligence community are quietly acknowledging that the United States does not know where many of those weapons are located… At the heart of the concern is that the Syrian military has transferred more and more of its stock of sarin and mustard gas from storage sites to trucks where they are being moved around the country. While U.S. intelligence agencies first saw reports that Syria was moving the weapons last year, the process has accelerated since December, according to these officials. Also worrisome, said two of the officials, is intelligence from late last year that says the Syrian Scientific Research Center—an entity responsible for Syria’s chemical-weapons stockpile—has begun to train irregular militias loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in how to use the chemical munitions.

Militant Quaker arrested for attempting to poison Starbucks customers

A San Jose woman was accused earlier today of attempting to poison Starbucks customers.

Perhaps it was because -- like Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev -- she's a disappointed boxer who had trouble making friends in America.

At a San Jose Starbucks a person tried to leave tainted orange juice for customers to buy.

Thankfully, someone saw something suspicious and reported it before anyone had a chance to drink that juice. Now there's concern this isn't the first time or the last that a woman has tried it.

A customer noticed a woman's odd behavior as she walked in, pulled out two bottles of orange juice and stacked them next to other refrigerated items. After the woman left, the customer told the store manager and the employees noticed a toxic smell coming from the containers so they called in the San Jose hazardous materials team.

One bottle was found to contain a mixture of orange juice and isopropyl alcohol, also known as rubbing alcohol. The other bottle had acetone in it, which is commonly used as nail polish remover.

Surveillance cameras captured the suspect's license plate and police traced it back to the suspect's home in South San Jose where they arrested 50-year-old Ramineh Behbehanian.

No one drank the tainted orange juice and investigators do not believe she did this at any other stores. Regardless, Starbucks says it is checking its bottled beverages at other nearby stores.

Police have not released a motive as to why this woman would want to poison customers, but they plan to hold a press conference on Tuesday morning.

I hear that the surname Behbehanian is Iranian.

But please don't jump to any conclusions and assume that this fragile young dove is an angry Muslim waging Jihad. I'm guessing she's a Tea Partier and a Fox News viewer. Or something.

MIND-BLOWING TRANSCRIPT OF BENGHAZI WHISTLE-BLOWER: US identified terrorist behind 9/11 attack but refuses to capture him

Part II of Fox News Special Report into the Benghazi cover-up premiered tonight and the news keeps getting worse.

BAIER: President Obama promised to get to the bottom of the Benghazi attack. Why are the perpetrators still free? Correspondent Adam Housley has part 2 of our exclusive investigation.

OBAMA: Make no mistake. Justice will be done.

HOUSLEY: Seven months and still no arrest or targeted killings after the brutal attack on two U.S. locations in Benghazi, Libya, killing four Americans -- despite promises that those responsible would be hunted down and held accountable.

However, multiple sources tell Fox News that the U.S. has identified the Benghazi attacker who is still running free.

SO: We basically don't want to upset anybody. And the problem is if Ambassador Stevens' family knew that we were sitting on information about the people who killed their son, their brother, and we could look them as a government in the face, then we are messing up.

We're messing up.

HOUSLEY: Fox News spoke exclusively with this Special Operator who watched the events unfold in real-time and debriefed those who were part of the response.

He remains anonymous for his safety and has decided to talk because he says he and others connected with the September 11th attacks of Benghazi are frustrated with the excuses, lies and lack of a military response since Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed.

SO: We have all the capability, all the training, all the capacity to kill and capture that only terrorist involved with the specific events of 9/11 and Ambassador Stevens' death with terrorists who are feeding other regions, including Europe that eventually could effect our national security in the short-term.

We're not talking midterm or long term. This is short-term.

HOUSLEY: The community is pretty frustrated?

SO: Absolutely. It's a daily frustration.

HOUSLEY: Another threat, a larger terrorist haven that continues to build in parts of Libya and North Africa. Those working the region in the United States security plainly the ball is being dropped by people at the White House, Pentagon and State Department.

SO: The second highest population of foreign fighters in the war in Iraq came from Benghazi. Second to Saudi Arabia.
So we are talking about historic location and region that has fed foreign fighters to kill Americans and kill other coalition forces the analysts, the intelligence experts that I work with all say the same thing: that if we just ignore the situation, as it presents itself, eventually another invasion will have to take place for us to eventually turn the tide.

HOUSLEY: He says the region also remains a weapons hub. After the overthrow of former leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011 which saw massive stockpiles of weapons in Libya move freely across the Mediterranean many cases in Syria.

There are thousands of shoulder-launched missiles called MANPADS, some Americans working the area say they are not allowed to take or even destroy the missiles because they have not been given the authority from their chain of command.

SO: I have come across SA-7's in the hands of friendly forces, meaning, you know, surrogate, military, or police forces that wanted to be handed over and I was unable it to do that because there was no program in place, no government organizations were interested, no special operations organizations were interested.

HOUSLEY: Is it frustrating knowing that these potential friendly forces or friendly people on the ground there were willing to pass along something that could fall into the hands of an adversary and there was no plan in place to do it?

SO: It was frustrating not only for myself but for the men and the guys that I work with. We always talk amongst each other and discuss that, you know, it's probably going to take a 747, a 757 to get shot down in Tripoli for somebody to pay attention though that, which is unfortunate.

HOUSLEY: Bret, looking for a response to the charge, that the possible mastermind has been identified and walking around in Libya.

We reached out to the State Department, the CIA, the Pentagon and the FBI. And we received no official response or comment.

Close your eyes and imagine a MANPAD taking out an American or a European passenger jet. Because that's precisely what will happen thanks to the fecklessness, cowardice and incompetence of the Obama administration.

Remember this when -- not if -- such a "man-caused disaster" occurs.

Also See Part I: BENGHAZI WHISTLEBLOWERS: Obama, Hillary Lied About Assets That Could Have Saved SEALs, Then Threatened Witnesses

Only one person in Washington hasn't heard of the Benghazi whistleblowers and his last name rhymes with Robama.

Shorter Obama: Benghazi whistle-blowers? What Benghazi whistle-blowers?

President Obama raised eyebrows today with his press conference statement that he was unaware of news stories about Benghazi whistleblowers being blocked and even threatened by the State Department.

I’m not familiar with this notion that anybody has been blocked from testifying,” said Obama to a question from Jessica Yellin of CNN. “So what I’ll do is I will find out what exactly you are referring to.”

The President must be the only person in Washington who has not heard about the Benghazi whistleblowers. Congress has been trying to gain access to the survivors of the terrorist attack for months. Indeed, during his congressional testimony on April 21, Secretary of State John Kerry promised them he would make it happen. Well, it turns out the opposite is the case.

As reported by Fox News yesterday, at least four career employees at the State Department and the CIA are ready to provide information to Congress that can give insights into what happened that fateful night at the U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi.

This news is of huge importance. We have to understand the systemic and individual failures that led to the deaths of four brave Americans in order fix the problems... However, considering that the survivors of Benghazi have been incommunicado for all these months, it is perhaps not surprising to learn that the potential whistleblowers are allegedly being threatened with career-ending consequences if they speak.

At every step of the way, the Obama Administration has been obfuscating the facts of the September 11 terrorist attack, misleading the public, dragging its feet, and—according to the report released by five House committees last week—trying to whitewash its own security and intelligence failures. Expect fireworks when the whistleblowers finally do get to tell their stories.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) says that the President's answers are, eh, hokum:

A lawyer for Benghazi whistleblowers has publicly stated that the State Department is blocking her client's ability to talk freely with counsel. Over the past two weeks, I have sent four letters requesting that this Administration make information available about how lawyers, who already have security clearances and are representing Benghazi whistleblowers, can be cleared to fully hear their clients' stories. I have yet to receive any response from the Obama Administration.

Even if the President really doesn't know anything about someone wanting to come forward, his position should be that whistleblowers deserve protection and that anyone who has different information about Benghazi is free to come forward to Congress. The President's unwillingness to commit himself to protecting whistleblowers only aids those in his Administration who are intimidating them.

Perhaps the President would agree to a polygraph examination so we can get to the bottom of this. Although the person administering the test had better wear a welding mask in case the box explodes into billions of pieces of shrapnel.

BRILLIANT: Now That Eric Holder's Mirandized Boston Bomber, a Mystery Female's DNA Found on Device

Question: it can't be called incompetence if Eric Holder's sabotaging the case against the alleged Boston Marathon bomber on purpose, right? I only ask because Holder has a serious conflict of interest: his old law firm is one of the biggest defenders of terrorists at Gitmo, but as A.G. he's supposed to be prosecuting those very same Jihadists.

What could possibly go wrong?

Investigators have found female DNA on at least one of the bombs used in the Boston Marathon attacks, though they haven't determined whose DNA it is or whether its presence means a woman helped the two brothers suspected in the bombings, according to U.S. officials briefed on the probe.

In another development, Russian officials revealed details about contacts between the older brother and suspected Islamist radicals in the Caucasus, including Internet exchanges that led to concerns by investigators that he was trying to join up with jihadist fighters...

...Two Russian government officials said Tamerlan Tsarnaev exchanged notes over the Internet with William Plotnikov, a boxer who moved with his parents from Russia to Canada before joining militants in the North Caucasus. And they said Mr. Tsarnaev met several times in early 2012 with Mansur Makhmud Nidal, an alleged militant from the Russian province of Dagestan and suspected jihadist recruiter. The meetings happened in a mosque in Dagestan's capital of Makhachkala known for its adherence to a puritanical strain of Islam, they said...

...Mr. Nidal died in a firefight in Makhachkala last May after a five-hour standoff that ended with him throwing a grenade at police officials, according to Russian authorities. Mr. Plotnikov died two months later, in mid-July, during a raid in the hinterland of Utamysh, a village southwest of Makhachkala.

Mr. Tsarnaev was in the region at the time of both raids but left Russia for the U.S. three days after the second one. He left before picking up a Russian passport that had been prepared for him at the local migration office in Dagestan's capital.

"He intended to join the fighters, but he lost his contacts," one of the Russian officials said. "In the end he picked an easier enemy in Boston."

Well, it's a good thing Holder Mirandized the (*cough*) "alleged" bomber before his connections could be fully explored. After all, he was talking to investigators until then.

BENGHAZI WHISTLEBLOWERS: Obama, Hillary Lied About Assets That Could Have Saved SEALs, Then Threatened Witnesses

My, my, my. Antique media now faces an interesting dilemma: let Fox News capture all of the Nielsen ratings as Benghazi-gate explodes or attempt to cover it and spin. Either way, they lose:

U.S. Had Assets That Could Have Saved U.S. SEALs

BAIER: The administration has insisted there was no help for the Americans under assault in Libya, none that could arrive in time to change the outcome in Benghazi. Tonight is the first of three exclusive reports charging that claim is just not true.

Because the Special Operator in this piece is fearful of reprisal, we have agreed to conceal his identity. Correspondent Adam Housley has the story.

HOUSLEY: Many Americans are asking indeed, I asked myself. How could this happen? In the seven months since the Benghazi attacks on 9/11, information from the administration has been incomplete at best.

Details and time lines provided by the State Department, the U.S. military and intelligence agencies had been contradictory and failed to answer many questions.

In December, a State Department review concluded: There simply was not enough time for U.S. military forces to have made a difference: Having said that, it is not reasonable nor feasible to forces at the ready to respond to protect every high risk post in the world.

But members of the military who are monitoring events in Benghazi disagree.

Only a few dozen people in the world know what happened that night and Fox News spoke exclusively with a Special Operator who watched the events unfold and has debriefed those who are part of the response.

SO: I know for a fact that C-110, the UCOM SIF was doing a training exercise not in the region of northern Africa but in Europe. They had the ability to react and respond.

HOUSLEY: The C-110 is a command in extremis force... a 40-man SPECOPS force capable of rapid response and deployment, specifically trained for incidents like the attack in Benghazi. That night, they were training in croatia just three and a half hours away.

SO: We had the ability to load out, get on birds, and fly there at a minimum stage. C-110 had the ability to be there, in my opinion, in four to six hours from their European theater to react.

HOUSLEY: They would have been there before the second attack.

SO: They would have been there before the second attack. They would have been there at a minimum to provide a quick reaction force that could facilitate their exfill out of the problem situation. Nobody knew how it was going to develop.

And you hear a whole bunch of people and a whole bunch of advisors say hey, we wouldn't have sent them there because the security was unknown situation.

HOUSLEY: No one knew that?

SO: If it's an unknown situation, at a minimum you send forces there to facilitate the exfill or medical injuries.

We could have sent a C-130 to Benghazi to provide medical evacuation for the injured.

HOUSLEY: Our source says many connected to Benghazi feel threatened and are afraid to talk. So far confidential sources have fed some information but nobody has come forward publicly on camera until now.

SO: The problem is, you have got guys, in my position you have got guys in Special Pperations community who are -- still active and still involved.

And they would be decapitated if they came forward with information that could effect high level commanders.

HOUSLEY: Despite the concern, our confidential source says the community feels there was a betrayal. All the way to the top. And that people on the ground in Benghazi were left to fend for themselves.

SO: I don't blame them for not coming forward, you know. It's something that is a risky, especially in a profession to say anything about anything in the realm of politics or that deals with policy.

HOUSLEY: Our source provides insight into how the U.S. government and military reacted from the moment the attack began through the immediate hours after ambassador Chris Stevens went missing. What they were told to do and what not to do as Stephens, Diplomatic Officer Sean Smith and former Special Operations members Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were killed.

SO: There is a lot of responsibility and onus that needs to be taken up and accounted for.

HOUSLEY: The attack began on September 11th, 2012 at a diplomatic compound in Benghazi and culminated roughly seven hours later at a second location, a CIA annex about one mile away.

While the official responses from Washington have been that the assets could not have made it from benghazi in time that killed Woods and Doherty, there were at least two military units that could have made it in time including the one training in Croatia.

SO: Besides those guys who went in on their own, we had two more assets that could have been there. Two more assets that could have been on the ground. It's frustrating, upsetting especially being in the community. The hardest thing to deal with in any kind of, you know, dangerous scenario or gun fight, is, you know, we always look to each other to help each other and that's how we get through situations. It's not about the assets overhead. It's about the guys on the ground.

HOUSLEY: He also says as the attack began there were at least 15 Special Forces and highly skilled State Department security staff available in the capital Tripoli who were not dispatched even though they were trained as a quick response force.

Meantime, a group of American reinforcements also in Tripoli, which included the CIA's global response agent Glen Doherty and seven others took matters into their own hands. This is a little known fact which contradicts the State Department'se report. The team commandeered a small jet and flew to Benghazi while still under fire. Doherty would eventually be killed on the roof along with his friend Tyrone Woods.

SO: These men deserve the highest medal of honor for their action. If it wasn't for that decision we would be looking at different situation. 20-plus hostages... captured by AQ or you would be looking at a lot of dead Americans dead in Benghazi.

HOUSLEY: We have heard some of these same details from a number of our other sources who have not yet come on camera.
Some of our British sources on the ground that night confirmed. Tomorrow, more of our exclusive interview including the hunt for those responsible or the lack of a hunt.

Further, at least four career intelligence officials say they have been directly threatened by the Obama administration to keep this scandal under wraps.

Obama administration officials threatened whistle-blowers on Benghazi-Lawyer

At least four career officials at the State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency have retained lawyers or are in the process of doing so, as they prepare to provide sensitive information about the Benghazi attacks to Congress, Fox News has learned.

Victoria Toensing, a former Justice Department official and Republican counsel to the Senate Intelligence Committee, is now representing one of the State Department employees. She told Fox News her client and some of the others, who consider themselves whistle-blowers, have been threatened by unnamed Obama administration officials.

“I'm not talking generally, I'm talking specifically about Benghazi – that people have been threatened,” Toensing said in an interview Monday. “And not just the State Department. People have been threatened at the CIA.”

Toensing declined to name her client... However, Toensing disclosed that her client has pertinent information on all three time periods investigators considered relevant to the attacks: the months that led up to the attack, when pleas by the ambassador and his staff for enhanced security in Benghazi were mostly rejected by senior officers at the State Department; the eight-hour time frame in which the attacks unfolded, and the eight-day period that followed the attacks, when Obama administration officials incorrectly described them as the result of a spontaneous protest over a video.

It's frightening, and they're doing some very despicable threats to people,” she said... Federal law provides explicit protections for federal government employees who are identified as “whistle-blowers.” The laws aim to ensure these individuals will not face repercussions from their superiors, or from other quarters, in retaliation for their provision of information about corruption or other forms of wrongdoing to Congress, or to an agency’s inspector-general.

Spread this story far and wide. It's time to break vintage media's embargo.

It's time to drag John Boehner out of the bar, wake him up, and name a Special Prosecutor.

This is impeachment material. Impeachment material.

WATCH THE LEFTIST NARRATIVE UNFOLD: Boston Marathon Bombers are the Victims, the Victims are the Perpetrators [Marcus]

Guest Post by Lloyd Marcus

Talk about Yogi Berra's famous line, “It's deja vu all over again”: have you noticed the similarity in the mainstream media's portrayal of suspected Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and that of Trayvon Martin? In both cases, the media blasted a much younger angelic photo of each young man, in essence, misrepresenting who they were at the times of their suspected crimes.

Dzhokhar received his Miranda warning and lawyered up with appointed federal public defenders. Liberals are all over the airways and the internet working to soften Dzhokhar's image, calling him a kid and a confused victim of his older brother and an unfriendly America. At the earliest, Dzhokhar's trial will be a year from now.

My concern is that by the time Dzhokhar goes on trial, the mainstream media and the left will have made his trial all about America's Islamophobia, racism and policies which have caused the world to hate us – forgetting about justice for those who lost life and limb because of the bombing.

Remember what happened in the O.J. Simpson trial? O.J.'s attorneys, praised by the left, masterfully changed the subject of his trial from being about a man almost beheading his wife and the mother of his children to being about America's history of racism against blacks. Remarkably, sympathy and justice for Nicole Brown Simpson somehow got lost in the shuffle of left-wing political narrative.

I foresee a strong possibility of a similar outrageous and tragic scenario unfolding for the victims of suspected terrorist Dzhokhar; murdered were eight-year old Martin Richards, Krystle Marie Campbell – 29, Lu Lingzi – 23, and 27 year old Officer Sean Collier who was shot in the head execution-style while sitting in his patrol car. Fourteen people lost all or part of a limb. Two hundred and fifty people were injured.

It would appear that the mainstream media are well on their way instilling the narrative that we must understand and sympathize with the 19-year-old suspected terrorist. We must not allow the victims of the Boston bombing to be relegated to background players, cast as mere collateral damage of the Left's golden opportunity to sell their narrative that America is always the “bad guy” at fault – the greatest source of evil in the world.

When the Next Attack Comes

When, not if, the next attack comes, I would like you to remember the following letter and the response to it by the Obama administration.

In total, nearly 50 Islamic and Islamist front groups signed the letter. The administration's response was horrifying and, given this president, utterly predictable.

Secret briefings by the FBI about its purge of counter-terror training documents and the identities of the outside experts who helped direct it have only heightened the concerns by some members of Congress that the agency is trading national security for political correctness...

...The FBI began reviewing all of its counter-terror training materials last September in response to media reports describing controversial statements in documents and lectures, allegedly including the assertion that devout Muslims are more likely to become terrorists.

Islamic and Arab-American groups protested and demanded removal of all references they deemed to be anti-Islamic. Within days, the bureau launched a review to ensure all FBI training materials are factual and do not rely on stereotypes.

To lead its review, the bureau created a five-member advisory panel that includes three outside Islamic experts, whose identities the agency will not disclose publicly.

After six months, almost 900 pages of documents were removed from the curriculum. Those are the materials members of Congress have been reviewing, but cannot discuss.

How much collateral damage is acceptable before Islamofascism is placed back on the required reading list for national security personnel?

We know that blowing up the Boston Marathon -- killing and wounding hundreds -- isn't likely to garner attention from Democrats, establishment RINOs and vintage media.

So, if you would, please hazard a guess:

How many dead Americans are acceptable to the Obama administration before it is forced at address the Jihadists who revel in the deaths of innocents?

A. 57 - one for each state.
B. 100 - round number could represent "grim milestone".
C. 3,000 - more than 9/11.
D. 10,000 - in other words, detonating a small nuclear device.
E. 1,000,000 - detonating a large nuclear device, or multiple devices and/or an EMP.
F. Other - some other noteworthy attack (e.g., taking out MSNBC)

Answer in the comments, if you would.

BENGHAZI-GATE EXPLODES: Congressional Investigators Say Hillary Clinton Lied Under Oath

Well, this would normally disqualify a politician from public office, but not a Democrat and certainly not Hillary Clinton.

A congressional report shows security cuts before the Benghazi attack were approved by the secretary of state and that White House talking points describing the events were edited to protect the State Department.

...Despite then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's denials that pleadings from Ambassador Chris Stevens, killed in the terrorist attack, never reached her desk, the interim Benghazi report concludes that:

Reductions of security levels prior to the attacks in Benghazi were approved at the highest levels of the State Department, up to and including Secretary Clinton. This fact contradicts her testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on January 23, 2013.

Indeed it does. On that date, Clinton testified: "I have made it very clear that the security cables did not come to my attention or above the assistant secretary level where the ARB (Accountability Review Board) placed responsibility."

The 46-page report by the five committees of jurisdiction cites an April 19, 2012, cable bearing Clinton's signature acknowledging a formal request dated March 28, 2012, from then-U.S. Ambassador to Libya Gene Cretz for additional security assets but ordering the withdrawal of security elements to proceed as planned.

After the attack, the talking points that became the administration's version of events were drafted. But contrary to administration rhetoric, changes to the talking points were not made to protect classified information. Concern for classified information is never mentioned in email traffic among senior administration officials.

...The report quotes one email saying there was concern that members of Congress would attack the State Department for "not paying attention to Agency warnings" regarding the mounting threat in Benghazi.

The report also says changes eliminating the truth about Benghazi were made at the behest of the White House and the State Department, and that the changes were made to make the administration look good.

The administration then sent Susan Rice, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, to appear on five Sunday morning talk shows with the newly edited talking points and the bald-faced lie that the attack on the Benghazi compound was spurred by a "spontaneous" demonstration against an anti-Muslim Internet video.

"What difference, at this point, does it make?" was Clinton's heated response when pressed why the White House long insisted the deaths of four Americans was the result of reaction to a YouTube video and not to an organized terrorist attack for which the administration was not prepared and tried to sweep under the Oval Office rug.

To the families of Christopher Stevens, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith and Ty Woods, the truth still matters and makes a world of difference.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. When the complete history of the Obama administration is written it will make Watergate look like a Lindsay Lohan shoplifting incident.

TOLERANCE: Shiite Woman in Saudi Arabia Sentenced to 8 Lashes for Sending a Text Message

I only report. I don't decide.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A Saudi Shiite woman has been sentenced to eight lashes by a court in Qatif for mistakenly sending a text message allegedly promoting the Shiite branch of Islam.

The 30-year-old woman, identified only as YH, has been pronounced guilty for sending an SMS to another Saudi woman, containing a list of internet addresses under the name 'Shiite Islamic religious services'.

One of the addresses apparently belong to Fatwas of Ayatollah Sistani, Iraq's most senior Shiite cleric who is renowned throughout the Gulf for his learned counsel on Islamic law.

The Saudi Arabian state is a staunch adherent to the Wahhabi, and publicly disparages the Shia sect. Shia Muslims are not allowed to practice their faith, or even profess their sectarian beliefs in private.

The act of calling people for Shiism, or openly advocating the Shia faith, has been pronounced as haram (forbidden and despicable in Arabic) by the Attorney General, who publicly demanded that YH be severely punished.

The sentence was eventually conferred by judge Davoud Mohammad al-Davoud, who, according to local sources, is an extremist sectarian with a history of harsh judgements.

The defendant, from the district of Awamiyya, vigorously contested the judgement.

"According to claims by the Attorney General, I have sent the SMS wrongly to an unknown number, and this might happen for anyone else, so, I do not accept the accusations," YH told the court, according to a report in Mehr News.

However, despite her vehement protestation YH has been unable to win a reprieve against her sentence.

Take this report from Iran with a grain of salt. The failed Persian state is in an undeclared state of war with the Sunni sect of Islam, represented primarily by Saudi Arabia.

So as for these genteel blokes acquiring nukes -- well, I for one don't foresee a problem.

UN "Human Rights" Official: Boston Got What It Deserved

Guest post by Anne Bayefsky

UN Human Rights Council “expert” Richard Falk has published a statement saying Bostonians got what they deserved in last week’s terror attack. He quotes W.H. Auden to make his point: "to whom evil is done/do evil in return.”

Richard Falk is the UN’s “Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967.” He has held the post since 2008, despite exposure as a 9/11 conspiracy theorist.

In his latest rant, published online on April 21, 2013 by foreignpolicyjournal.com. Falk repeats the libel that prior to 9/11 President George W. Bush was seeking a “pretext” for war, and that anything Israel is the opposite of “justice and peace.”

And then he attacks Bostonians head-on. The police action in Boston was a "hysterical dragnet." Boston’s dead were "canaries" that "have to die" because of America’s “fantasy of global domination."

Falk explains the attacks as justifiable “resistance.” In his words: “The American global domination project is bound to generate all kinds of resistance in the post-colonial world.”

He minimizes the crime and predicts worse if America doesn’t change its ways to better accommodate the demands of “the Islamic world.” As he puts it: “In some respects, the United States has been fortunate not to experience worse blowbacks, and these may yet happen…”.

Why the Boston Bombers Succeeded [Stewart]

Guest post By Scott Stewart, Stratfor Research

When seeking to place an attack like the April 15 Boston Marathon bombing into context, it is helpful to classify the actors responsible, if possible. Such a classification can help us understand how an attack fits into the analytical narrative of what is happening and what is likely to come. These classifications will consider factors such as ideology, state sponsorship and perhaps most important, the kind of operative involved.

In a case where we are dealing with an apparent jihadist operative, before we can classify him or her we must first have a clear taxonomy of the jihadist movement. At Stratfor, we generally consider the jihadist movement to be divided into three basic elements: the al Qaeda core organization, the regional jihadist franchises, such as al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, and grassroots operatives who are radicalized, inspired and perhaps equipped by the other two tiers but who are not members of either.

Within the three-tier jihadist movement there exist two distinct types of operatives. One of these is the professional terrorist operative, a person who is a member of the al Qaeda core or of one of the regional franchises. These individuals swear loyalty to the leader and then follow orders from the organization's hierarchy. Second, there are amateur operatives who never join a group and whose actions are not guided by the specific orders of a hierarchical group. They follow a bottom-up or grassroots organizational model rather than a hierarchical or top-down approach.

There is a great deal of variety among professional terrorists, especially if we break them down according to the functions they perform within an organization, roles including that of planners, finance and logistics specialists, couriers, surveillance operatives, bombmakers, et cetera. There is also a great deal of variety within the ranks of grassroots operatives, although it is broken down more by their interaction with formal groups rather than their function. At one end of the grassroots spectrum are the lone wolf operatives, or phantom cells. These are individuals or small groups that become radicalized by jihadist ideology but that do not have any contact with the organization. In theory, the lone wolf/phantom cell model is very secure from an operational security standpoint, but as we've discussed, it takes a very disciplined and driven individual to be a true lone wolf or phantom cell leader, and consequently, we see very few of them.

At the other end of the grassroots spectrum are individuals who have had close interaction with a jihadist group but who never actually joined the organization. Many of them have even attended militant training camps, but they didn't become part of the hierarchical group to the point of swearing an oath of allegiance to the group's leaders and taking orders from the organization. They are not funded and directed by the group.

BIDEN: Corn Syrup, Coal Power More Dangerous Than Terrorism

Mr. Peabody, set the Wayback Machine to 2007.

BILL MAHER: Senator Biden, forgetting about the upcoming Iowa Caucus for just a moment, which would you honestly say is more like to contribute to the death of your average American: a terrorist strike, high-fructose corn syrup, or air that has too much coal in it?

BIDEN: Air that has too much coal in it, corn syrup next, then a terrorist attack, but that is not to diminish in any way the fact that a terrorist attack is real. It is not an existential threat to bringing down the country, but it does have the capacity still to kill thousands of people. But hundreds of thousands of people die and their lives are shortened because of coal plants, coal-fired plants, and because of corn syrup.

One. Heartbeat. Away. From. The. Presidency.

Stand up, Chuck!

Media Quiz: Possible Motives for Boston Marathon Bombing

In spite of a plethora of evidence, the kooks in media and the Obama administration -- but I repeat myself -- appear thoroughly stumped in ascertaining the motives of the Boston bombers.

For that reason, I offer the following helpful quiz for the administration and its public relations officials in antique media.

Question: What was the motive for the terror attack at the Boston Marathon?

Please select only one answer from the following choices:

Nicki Minaj not returning tweets, which indicts all of American society

Tsarnaev brothers are Yankees fans; took the term "Bronx Bombers" a little too seriously

Sick of TBS, which keeps showing the same "Master of my domain" Seinfeld rerun

Revenge for food poisoning incident at Boylston Street's Mr. Sushi

Bitterly clinging to holy book and pressure cookers

Hope to inspire Matt Damon and Ben Affleck to make the movie of the Tsarnaev Brothers' lives

Six-month trip to Russia centered around study of Rasputin's love-making techniques

That idiot Elvis impersonator stole my Ricin idea

Even Cialis ain't working

TERRORISM AND THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION: Willful Ignorance or ... ?

A rough timeline for your consideration:

03/30/2011 Russa tells FBI: Tamerlan Tsarnaev is a radicalised Islamicist

06/09/2011 Napolitano: No "Logic" In Profiling Muslim Men Under The Age Of 35

02/15/2012 FBI Purges Training Material of “Anti-Islam” Documents

10/01/2012 Tsarnaev enters U.S. after six-month trip to area bordering terror hotbed Chechnya

10/31/2012 Russia asks FBI to investigate Tsarnaev -- the FBI never responded

03/20/2013 Special Travel Benefit for Saudis a "Slap in the Face"

03/21/2013 Imam From Radical Mosque Invited to Speak at Obama’s Boston Service

04/15/2013 Tsarnaev brothers detonate IEDs at Boston Marathon, killing 3 and wounding 200

04/21/2013 'Police may never question marathon bombing suspect', says the Mayor of Boston

The President asserts that officials don't know the bombers' motives and that he'll get to the bottom of it.

Here's a tip that should save him some time: Jihad.

As Andrew McCarthy adroitly notes, no matter how many times the Obama administration tries, "Jihad will not be wished away."

And, as an aside, we still have no earthly idea what Barack Obama did before, during and after the attacks in Benghazi that killed four Americans including an Ambassador.
