"UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME": The Latest Democrat Plan to Enslave the Poor

Shot:

Brokest-Ass City in the Brokest-Ass State Wants to Go Brokier

Okay, I just made that headline up. The real one is Chicago could soon test universal basic income program

Chicago may soon become the largest municipality in the U.S. to test a universal basic income program.

Chicago alderman Ameya Pawar recently proposed legislation that would provide 1,000 families with a $500 monthly stipend -- no questions asked. The bill already has the backing of the majority of city lawmakers, and Pawar hopes to soon work with Mayor Rahm Emanuel to implement the pilot program, The Intercept reported...

DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS: The 8 Most Twisted Policy Positions of Your Modern Democrat Party

By the Researcher

A reminder of just how far left your Dad's Democrat Party has drifted. For your review:
  1. On Guns: There’s a growing push to repeal the Second Amendment among many influential liberals and members of the coastal T.V. glitterati, including the Louisiana Democratic Chairwoman, John Paul Stevens, Michael Moore, and Larry King who has a show on RT, which broadcasts Kremlin messaging. According to a recent poll, 39 percent of Democrats support repealing the Second Amendment and 82 percent favor banning semi-automatic weapons.

THE BEST PART OF AMAZON’S RISE TO MONOPOLISTIC SUPREMACY? Taxpayers are Subsidizing It

While I believe completely in the concept of "creative destruction", Michael Walsh's latest column is well worth a careful review.

He points us to a fascinating article by the Wall Street Journal's Josh Sandbulte, who notes that taxpayers are subsiding Amazon with a $1.46 payment for each box it delivers.

MARK LEVIN KNOCKS IT OUT OF THE PARK: 12 Ways Progressives and Americans Differ on Public Policy

I paraphrased a few, knowing that some progressives' heads might explode without a proper warmup:

  • We believe in the Constitution, they believe in centralized government.
  • We believe in individualism, they believe in conformity.
  • We believe in private property, they believe in collective ownership of material goods.
  • We believe in prosperity, they believe in redistributing wealth with them determining who gets ripped off and who gets the drips remaining after they've taken their cut.
  • We believe in separation of powers, they believe in a monolithic, all-powerful, administrative state.
  • We believe in eternal truths, they believe in ideologically meandering social engineering.
  • We believe in cultural stability, they believe in never-ending transformation of our society.
  • We believe in real science, they believe in social science (e.g., "environmental justice").
  • We believe in the rights of man, they believe in the power of centralized government.
  • We believe in the moral order, they believe in situational ethics.
  • We believe in individual liberty, they believe in authoritarianism, with no limits ever defined.
  • We believe in education, they believe in indoctrination.
  • We believe in civil society, they believe in the federal leviathan.

You can find Mark's latest bestseller here: Rediscovering Americanism: And the Tyranny of Progressivism. Once you read it, there's no going back.

HELPFUL ILLUSTRATION: The Democrat Party Social Pyramid

Straight out of the CCCP (i.e., the invaluable People's Cube) comes this handy set of figures illustrating the official caste system of the Democrat Party.

The first chart depicts the historical hierarchy of ancient Egypt.

The second portrays an eerily similar caste system enforced by the post-Wilson Democrat Party, reinforced by FDR, LBJ and BHO.

Although I do think there was a minor omission on the Democrat Party's chart; can you guess what it is (answer at the end of the post)?

GENIUS: How About E-Verifying Tax Refund Recipients?

By David North

The Trump administration is said to be thinking about illegal aliens and Social Security.

Let's hope the focus of the new people is not on Social Security beneficiaries, as benefits are not supposed to be paid to those without legal status, anyway. This part of the system may not be enforced with zest, but the rules are in place. Clearly such systems could, and should, be tightened.

The focus on Social Security and illegal aliens, however, should be on seeing to it that the massive amount of information on the illegals held by the SSA — now rarely shared with other agencies — should be routinely dispatched to other federal outfits that can, and should, do something about it.

COEXIST: The U.S. Has More Immigrants Than Any Other Country

By NUSA

A new study by the Pew Research Center shows that the U.S. has more than 40 million immigrants, more than any other country in the world. It also takes in about one-fifth of the world’s total migrants.

The report looks at trends from 1960 to 2015. According to the report in 2015 the U.S. hit a record high of 43.2 million immigrants accounting for 13.4% of the population, the same number that is used by the Center of Immigration Studies. This is four times higher than in 1960 when only 9.7 million immigrants lived in the U.S., accounting for only 5.4% of the population.

TIME BOMB: Does Anyone In Washington Even Care That We Are 20 Trillion Dollars In Debt?

By Michael Snyder

There has been a tremendous amount of talk about the spending deal that was just reached in Congress. Most of the focus has been on who “won” and who “lost” politically, and if you have been keeping up with my articles you definitely know my opinion on the matter.

But what nobody is really talking about is that this deal actually increases spending at a time when our debt has been absolutely exploding. We added more than a trillion dollars a year to the U.S. national debt during Obama’s eight years in the White House, and our debt binge actually accelerated toward the end of his second term. In fact, the national debt increased by more than 1.4 trillion dollars during fiscal 2016

Trump's Tax Cuts For All Americans Portrayed by Media as, Get This, Tax Cuts for the Rich

By William Teach

Liberals are pretty much one-trick ponies. Like The New York Lyin' Times:

White House Proposes Slashing Tax Rates, Significantly Aiding Wealthy

President Trump on Wednesday proposed sharp reductions in individual and business income tax rates and a radical reordering of the tax code that would significantly benefit the wealthy, but he offered no explanation of how the plan would be financed as he rushed to show progress before the 100-day mark of his presidency.

Here’s the question: so what?

THEY REALLY DO HATE YOU: Democrats Demand Pro-Criminal Measures in Spending Bill

By William Teach

Despite losing well over a thousand federal and state seats during the time of Obama, then losing the White House, Democrats are super enthused!

House Democrats grow bullish after Trump’s stumbles

Their fear of languishing in the minority is turning into hope for a quick revival...

THE DEPARTMENT OF OBVIOUS: Bernie "Venezuela" Sanders Says "The Democratic Party is Failing"

The socialist from Vermont and former Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sandersappeared on today CBS News' Deface the Nation (hat tip: Mark Levin).

As anyone could have predicted, he was not asked about the tragic and violent meltdown of Venezuelan society, another victim of socialism's perfect track record.

He was asked about the current fractures in a party best known for cobbling together various groups of grievance-mongers, government dependents, illegal aliens, the mathematically challenged and the ultra-wealthy.

Stunningly, this political Tower of Babel hasn't led to widespread electoral success.

Let's let Sanders tell it:

MY 600 POUND LIFE, FEDERAL EDITION: OMB Director Warns Agencies of "Substantial" Budget Cuts

By Juliegrace Brufke

Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney is reportedly slated to send a letter to federal agencies later this week warning them to prep for substantial budget cuts.

The guidance letter falls in line with President Donald Trump’s March 13 executive order aimed at making the government leaner and more efficient, Axios first reported.

THE NATIONAL DEBT IN 2 CHARTS: The Coming Meltdown

By Romina Boccia

The fact that the national debt jumped by $1.4 trillion in one short year should spur Congress to put an end to this excess.

The debt hit a record-breaking high of $19.6 trillion at the close of the federal government’s 2016 fiscal year on Sept. 30. It had totaled $18.1 trillion at the end of the previous fiscal year.

The gross national debt includes intragovernmental debt, or debt the federal government owes to itself—for example, to the Social Security trust fund—in addition to debt held by the public.

THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED: Where Democrats Rule, Citizens Flee

By Timothy H. Lee

"People Moving from New York Outnumber Arrivals by Nearly Two-to-One, Report Says."

That was a recent Albany Times Union headline highlighting the ongoing mass exodus from deep-blue New York:

United Van Lines reported Tuesday that nearly two-thirds of the moves involving New York households were outbound, a higher proportion than any other state except New Jersey and Illinois.  The 2016 National Movers Study by Fenton, Missouri-based United also found that almost 59 percent of the moves within the eastern United States were outbound.  Where were people moving?  Mostly to western states and the Carolinas...  South Dakota had the highest share of inbound moves, at 68 percent.

That exodus pattern isn't limited to the listed states, either.  It's broadly endemic to states where liberals govern.

HEY, THEY'LL ALWAYS HAVE SOROS: Way Past Time You and I Stopped Funding Public Broadcasting

By Cliff Kincaid

The liberal media have always had an advantage over conservative media because of their billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies. But now, if the Trump administration has its way with the budget, the liberal media may be reduced significantly in size.

“Public Radio and Television Stations Face New Threat of Budget Cuts” is the headline over a Wall Street Journal article about proposed Trump administration budget cuts to the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and public broadcasting. These cuts “are being considered to offset the Trump administration’s proposed increase in defense spending,” the paper said.

Almost $13 billion has been spent by Congress on the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) since 1969.

Socialism 2.0

By MC

Socialism is the sponsor of Islam. It believes it can use Islam to once more break Judeo-Christianity, as it did many hundreds of years ago in North Africa. Socialism also believes that, by associating every violent act of the so-called ‘religion of peace’ with a fabricated Judeo-Christian potential for revenge (backlash) violence, they can tar all god-centric religions with the same brush, leaving the field clear for man’s worship of men. But allah is not Yahovah, and mohammed is not Yahushua (Jesus) , the koran is not the Bible and shariah is not Torah.

We now have a few more socialist/Islamist countries going legs in the air and requiring us to bail them out for the sake of humanity. Exactly when is socialism/Islam going to stop bleeding us dry? When is socialism going to stop its scarification of society, supposedly in the search for a cure to so-called ‘poverty’.

I was a poor kid. My father died of radiation-induced cancer when I was in my early teens. I did not go on the school cruise; I had to go to school and eke out the days whilst the richer kids visited the world.

QUITE TRAGIC: Defunding Sanctuary Cities Will Pay for the Wall

It's the little things that often make life worthwhile.

Finding a $20 bill on the sidewalk. That extra hour of sleep when Daylight Savings Time turns over. Oh, and watching Hillary Clinton lose an election in real-time.

And then there's all of that "build the wall" business.

Democrats -- using their traditional, Barney Frank-level of hypocritical lying -- have suddenly claimed they're worried about the debt. That's after eight years of spending that made Caligula look like Scrooge.

Their faux concern: paying a few billion dollars for a security wall. Never mind that building the wall would save Americans countless hundreds of billions on handouts to illegals. That's called a "return on investment", a concept as foreign to the Democrat Party as, say, learning from history.

Now for the ironical part:

TWO CHARTS TO BLOW YOUR MIND: Where Illegal Aliens Live and How Many are Collecting Welfare

Try and contain your surprise, but it turns out that 20 metro areas are home to 60 percent of all illegal aliens in the U.S.

Examine the map, below, and you'll find that five of the top 20 illegal alien havens are in California.

Shut down California's financial incentives to harbor illegals and you solve a great percentage of the problem in the entire country.

COMMON SENSE, 2017: Part II

By Jim Quinn

In Part One of this article I explored Thomas Paine’s critical role in the creation of our nation. His Common Sense pamphlets inspired the common people to uncommon acts of courage and heroic feats of valor; leading to the great experiment we call the United States of America. Paine, Franklin and the other Founding Fathers produced a republic, if we could keep it.

John Adams championed the new Constitution precisely because it would not create a democracy, as he knew a democracy “soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself.” Their herculean efforts, sacrifices, and bloodshed have been for naught as we allowed our republic to devolve into a democracy and ultimately into our current corporate fascist warfare/welfare surveillance state. Sadly, we were unable to keep the republic Franklin and his fellow revolutionaries gave us.
