We don't know nuttin!

Larwyn relays Phil's message:

To understand the next four years you have to understand the world according to Chicago. While it is a city of Illinois it is also a completely different country with a whole different set of morals and language.

There are only three rules there which anybody can understand. You don't even need an attorney to understand them and if you need an attorney, well... you know too much, so look out for Rule #3!

RULE #1 No matter what you see, hear, or do - you don't know anybody and you don't know nuttin!

RULE #2 If you capture something on tape or camera - it doesn't reveal nuttin!

RULE #3 If you know what anybody knows in Chicago , well... dat's da last ting you'll ever know and you'll wish youse never knew nuttin!

Now, pay close attention we don't want to have to say this more than once. It's very simple... we'll illustrate. If you have to, read slow-like!

These two? They don't know each other!

Remember the first picture? Be sure you only remember that they don't know and you certainly don't either! Da fellas in the background in this picture? Well... what fellas? We don't see nuttin!

Oops! How did that get in here? Da guy on the left? For all you know he's Santy Claus. And the guy on the right... well, he's da Easter Bunny! That's all you need to know and you're better off if you don't know that.

Go to your eye doctor, yourse eyes is lying to yas! Capish?

We don't want to know what they're saying. Remember Jimmy Hoffa! He knew too much and now... well... now no one knows where he is. Is the big picture clear?

Not these pictures gumwad, cuz youse already forgot dem!

Now, ain't that simple?

They don't know nuttin and neither do we! And don't forget it!

Rangel sets new modern-day record for "ethics issues"

Who says Congress is inefficient? The Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee -- Charlie Rangel (D-NY) -- just set a new record. He is now the subject of at least 32 simultaneous ethics issues or investigations. The Sunlight Foundation announced that it discovered 28 mysterious asset transfers by Rangel that come on top of a number of other ongoing investigations.

• The Sunlight Foundation found 28 instances since 1978 in which Rangel hid (or "failed to report") asset transfers of values between $239,026 and $831,000 as House rules required.

• Rangel failed to disclose $75,000 in income from a vacation rental property he owned in the Dominican Republic. After the tax "mistake" was discovered, he first blamed his wife, then his accountant and finally the fact that he didn't speak Spanish.

• In violation of New York City statutes, he secured four rent-controlled apartments, three to serve as luxury living quarters at bargain-basement prices.

• He abandoned his Mercedes in the House parking garage.

• He had his campaign committee "funnel $80,000 to his son for performing little or no work on a Web site."

• He killed a tax increase that would have hurt one of his major donors.

As of yesterday Rangel believed that his ethics troubles were drawing to a close.

He gloated, "I think that next Tuesday you will see a break in this and as soon as the Ethics Committee organizes they ought to be able to dismiss this."

Where is the FBI? Where is a real House investigation? What the hell is going on in this country?

How to get Democrats to demand that Gitmo stays open

Put a sign like this on the front of the place and the liberals will go nuts trying to keep the place open.

Can anyone explain to me why it is that Democrats are tougher on corporate executives than on the guys that murdered 3,000 innocent Americans?

Idea: Mark Levin.

How the stimulus plan will work: Anchoress

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House. One is from Chicago, another is from Tennessee, and the third is from Minnesota.

All three go with a White House official to examine the fence. The Minnesota contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Chicago contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$2,700."

The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?"

The Chicago contractor whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence."

"Done!" replies the government official.

And that, my friends, is how the new stimulus plan will work.

Studies confirm: Unions Hurt Employment and Wages

In 2005, the Montreal Economic Institute published a study that analyzed the macro-effects of unionization in the United States and Canada. Its conclusions were stunning.

The available data show that a strong union presence... is accompanied by lower levels of employment and investment. Any labour market rigidity can have negative effects on employment. In Europe, for example, other types of institutional rigidity besides those connected with union privileges have been identified as causes of an endemic European unemployment rate that is much higher than in North America.

In contrast, more flexible labour relations create an environment better suited to greater economic dynamism. This dynamism results in higher business demand for labour and thus increased value for work and better remuneration. Workers benefit by finding jobs more readily and also by receiving good wages based on their qualifications and productivity rather than on union membership.

It is not unionization as such – nor the right of association – that causes these effects, but rather union privileges and the resulting constraints. To the extent that unions have privileges and use them either to set wages higher than would be the case without them, or to impose constraints that threaten the profitability and viability of businesses, they diminish employment and general prosperity.

The Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) -- a Democratic paean to Union bosses who've spent millions electing them -- provides almost unlimited power to unions over businesses. It strips a uniquely American institution -- the secret ballot -- from the playing field and instead publicly lists employees who've voted for and against unionization. It is a transparent and primitive attempt to bully workers.

Study after study after study confirms the fact: high rates of unionization -- facilitated by pro-union labor relations laws -- constrains free enterprise and hampers small business growth.

"...private unions were found to have a detrimental impact on productivity and economic growth in the most recent period without having any beneficial effect on wages..."

Call your Senator and voice your opposition to the ill-named "Employee Free Choice Act." The job at stake may be your own.

This looks like a must-see.

Hopefully it's science fiction... and not a documentary.

Rep. Jim Cooper (D-TN) -- one of the lead Blue Dogs -- made a startling admission to lefty Liberadio on Sunday, suggesting the White House quietly encouraged him to buck House leadership on the stimulus... Cooper was one of 11 Dems to vote no -- joining every GOP House member.

"Well, I probably shouldn’t tell you this, but I actually got some quiet encouragement from the Obama folks for what I’m doing," said Cooper, one of about 55 House Democrats to sign a letter criticizing Speaker Nancy Pelosi for suspending normal debate and committee rules on the $819 billion package...

"They know its a messy bill and they wanted a clean bill. Now, I got in terrible trouble with our leadership because they don’t care what’s in the bill, they just want it pass and they want it to be unanimous. They don’t mind the partisan fighting cause that’s what they are used to. In fact, they’re really good at it. And they’re a little bit worried about what a post-partisan future might look like. Barack-trination

Robert Cox alerts us to a disturbing use of school property: a childrens' indoctrination class orchestrated by Leftist moonbats in New Rochelle, New York (Liberals in New York? I'll alert the media).

Students at [the] elementary school in New Rochelle, NY, a largely Democratic suburb of New York City with a City Council and School Board dominated by Democrats, were recently assigned an in-class assignment to color in drawings of Barack Obama to mark the occasion of the inauguration of the 44th President. The drawings depicted Obama in various heroic poses, flags waving in the background, but one drawing went beyond adulation into overt political activity disguised as a pedagogical exercise. The drawing is a campaign button, in the center of a circle Barack Obama is smiling surrounded by another circle with the words "Students for Obama 2008".

Do public school employees cross the line with this sort of thing? At least one student objected but her concerns were ignored.

"I was mad", the second grader told Talk of the Sound. "I wanted McCain to win".

New Rochelle Superintendent of Schools Richard Organisciak, an Obama supporter, did not respond to emails requesting comment.

Yes, my minions: it's time to help Robert out and contact Mr. Richard Organisciak, Superintendent of Obama Youth Schools in New Rochelle. You can email him at rorganisciak@newrochelle.k12.ny.us. Be polite but firm. Insist that schools are no venue for brainwashing our kids.

Mr. Or-gan-is-ee-ack, I am a citizen and a resident of New York. I was outraged to discover that your school system is operating a political action committee using students as unwilling pawns.

As a Republican and a taxpayer (but I repeat myself), I find it difficult to believe that your programs indoctrinate students with political tripe.

Tell you what, Mr. O, try teaching the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution to the kids. You'll produce more knowledgeable citizens who will be able to more easily discern propaganda.

Leave the Leftist brainwashing to the faculty at Journalism School.

Thank you, Newt MacArthur Reagan

Premature e-Daschle-ation

Larwyn just sent us a link to a Vanity Fair spread that insufficiently vetted its subjects. It seems the rocket scientists at the Fair forgot to check Tom Daschle's 1040DEM returns before snapping the erstwhile Health Czar.

If I may be so bold as to offer my Photoshopping skills to Graydon Carter (what ever does he do with his time now that Chimpy is out of office?), I hereby submit this freely available, modified version of the photo corrected for the Fair's understandable gaffe.

What?? You say Richardson had to withdraw too? For the love of... what kind of rinky-dink operation is the Chosen One running here?

Update: Two tax scofflaws withdrew their names from consideration today. Does that mean they'll continue to pay taxes now?

Global warming wrecked my car

With the wisdom of Al Gore guiding my mouse, I offhandedly watch the results of a massive snowstorm on traffic cams. Vehicles spin out of control, sliding into one another, wreaking havoc and further snarling traffic.

Guiding these robotic cameras, I feel like a lord of global warming climate change, watching as man's catastrophic effects on the atmosphere are felt through extreme heat record-setting cold.

Thankfully, no matter how hot or cold it gets, I know that any minute now -- as Al Gore predicted -- the ocean levels will rise and wipe out this virus-like race called "humans."

Navy releases Gitmo prisoner

Dave W. sent this one in with a hat tip to Ted Kennedy.

With plans to shutter Gitmo, the U.S. Navy has announced its new "catch-and-release" program for terrorists captured on the battlefield.

Yesterday, Navy officials announced that -- consistent with President Obama's directives -- it has released a senior Al Qaeda Terrorist after questioning him extensively for 27 days while being held prisoner aboard a U.S. aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea.

As a humanitarian gesture, the terrorist was given $50 US and a White 1962 Ford Fairlane automobile upon being released from Custody.

The attached photo shows the terrorist on his way home moments after being released by the Navy.

Bobby Rush: bringing Chicago's crime-fighting success to your 'hood

This is Congressman Bobby Rush (D-IL). He represents the First Congressional District of Illinois.

The First District is located in and around the city of Chicago.

It is one of 19 Congressional districts in the state.

Chicago is one of the most crime-ridden and violent cities in the United States.

While other large cities like New York City and Los Angeles have seen violent crimes decrease, Chicago has experienced the opposite. In 2008, 510 murders were recorded, a rise of nearly 15% from the previous year.

Nearly all of the murders were gun crimes. But how could that be? The state of Illinois has arguably the most restrictive gun laws in the Union. Don't criminals abide by the law?

And Chicago's gun laws are even more restrictive. Chicago requires "that all firearms be registered with the local police department [and] does not allow the registration of handguns, which has the effect of outlawing their possession."

Despite the longstanding bans (in place since 1982), Chicago's gun crimes continue to run wild.

So what does Rep. Bobby Rush do? You guessed it: he intends to replicate Chicago's success in the rest of the United States by setting the stage for a federal gun ban.

H.R. 45, which Rush recently introduced, is the Democrats' first step at a total gun ban, a blatant and direct violation of the Second Amendment.

It requires the Attorney General to register every gun owner and every gun transfer using an onerous and complex application process. It bans transfers among private parties. It requires fingerprints, safety tests, fees, mental health records and much, much more.

If a gun owner does satisfy the licensing process, regulations describe the penalties for failing to report a loss or theft, a change of address, and other "crimes".

Put simply, Congressman Rush -- an uber-liberal with a horrific record of idiotic decisions -- plans on bringing Chicago's crime-fighting success to your neighborhood.

Plan accordingly.
