CNN anchor gets pwnt by truck dealer offering free AK-47s

Mark Muller of Butler, Missouri's Max Motors knows a good sales promotion when he sees one. That's why he created the "Buy a truck and get a free AK-47" program.

CNN interviewed Muller on-air. The anchor attempted to parry with Muller and had her hat handed to her.

A pickup truck and a free AK? Anyone know how to get to Butler?

"We are witnessing something terribly ugly in America this summer. Obama is leading a campaign to shift our peaceful democratic process away from civil discussions of programs and candidates to using the power of the state to bully those who oppose the majority party's policy proposals. The threat may be as subtle as the fear of being reported by a neighborhood informant to the White House, or as overt as stick-wielding union toughs who might not approve of the way you ask your congressman a question.

During his campaign last year, the president famously told his supporters to "get in the faces" of those who disagreed with his vision for America. One of his Chicago mentors recalled in a 2007 New Republic profile that Obama, as a community organizer, was "the best student he ever had, a natural, the undisputed master of agitation" to gain political power. Sadly, now that he has it, he is turning it against those who oppose him." -- Mark Tapscott

American Caesar

Dan from New York writes:

They said after Bush left office we'd discover that the USA was becoming a fascist state. And they were right!

Amid reports of ACORN and union enforcers roughing up ObamaCare critics at town hall meetings, Instapundit highlights this observation at National Review Online:

American Caesar

Kathryn Jean Lopez, August 07, 2009

Yesterday, at a rally for R. Creigh Deeds in Virginia, President Obama said: "I don't want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don't mind cleaning up after them, but don't do a lot of talking."

For Barack Obama, democracy appears to be a distraction. He really does seem to view himself as a Caesar.

Shortly after taking office, Obama held a meeting with governors. At the time, one person in the room relayed Obama's request that critics and skeptics of the stimulus plan keep their concerns to themselves. Just let me do it, was his attitude. He got pushback and he wasn't happy. He wanted democratically elected state governors to shut up so he could do as he pleased. He knows better and we should respect that, seems to be the attitude.

And if you disagree, you'll have Rahm to deal with.

###

Wonder what color shirt the White House will pick for their thugs' uniforms. Brown is already taken.

Update: "Obama wants the majority that opposes or questions his policies to stay silent."

Ouch! Even hard-core libs confirm Democrats are lying about Town Hall protesters!

Even the most whacked-out liberals are admitting that the Town Hall protesters are neither "Nazis", "Insurance Lobbyists" or "Paid Corporate Suits".

I just want to make a quick comment here where it will be seen. I know it's popular these last few days to talk about astroturfing and corporate sponsorship of protesters. However, I don't think much of that was going on tonight. These people are angry and afraid. They may be getting their talking points via the insurance industry but they were there because they wanted to fight what they are afraid of. They believe that this country is being turned into a socialist/fascist/communist/Nazi state (yes, many of them actually believe all of these things simultaneously) and that makes the angry, afraid and dangerous. Be wary of blaming this all on the insurance companies and their propaganda. Of course it plays a role. But these people were there tonight because they wanted to be. If you want to address this issue you need to get to the root of it: Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and all the other hate-radio/television profiteers.

Of course, once the new FCC 'Chief Diversity Officer' -- the author of several anti-talk-radio strategy documents -- gets his way, the First Amendment will be flushed down the drain along with the rest of the Constitution.

As for turning into a socialist state, I'm no political scientist, but consider. If the government owns the means of production (banks, auto companies, insurance companies -- with designs on health insurance companies, oil refineries, energy companies, etc.), that probably qualifies as socialism. Oops! Did those facts -- disturb you?

The Marxist blogger goes on to list some questions posed to John Dingell (D-MI):

"Will I lose my health insurance though my employer if this bill passes?"

No. Of course you will. Everyone knows it -- and Barney Frank even admitted it, bonehead.

"Will illegal aliens get health care under this bill?"

No. Of course they will. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) has already said as much (""the useless barriers of citizenship would not be in this bill").

"Will abortions be covered under this bill?"

No. Of course they will. US News & World Report admits that Democrats are fighting over this now.

"Will elderly people be euthanized under this bill?"

No.

Of course they will. Perhaps this rocket scientist could take a moment and read the writings of Obama's "Health Care Czar", Ezekiel Emanuel. Zeke is on record saying that the disabled, the elderly and other "non-productive" members of society no longer merit care. It's a waste of rationed care, dontcha know? May I quote Dr. Mengele Emanuel?

...services provided to individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens are not basic and should not be guaranteed. An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia. A less obvious example Is is guaranteeing neuropsychological services to ensure children with learning disabilities can read and learn to reason.

Smells like Nazi Germany!

Of course, the Marxist blogger hasn't bothered to read Emanuel and his ilk. The concerned electorate still befuddles him.

I don't understand these people but I can tell you this: nothing you or I or anyone else can say will change their minds...

...A woman holding a sign reading "Abortion is not health care" was told TWICE by Rep. Dingell that abortion would never be paid for with public funds under this bill and yet she still persisted in claiming it would. When he told the audience that illegal aliens will not be covered by this program, their response wasn't, "Oh, excellent", it was "LIAR!!!"

They can not be reasoned with; you will not change their minds...

...The thing to remember is that they are, in reality, a tiny minority. Vocal? Yes. Obnoxious? Yes. In the media? Yes. But do they represent mainstream America? I feel confident in saying, unequivocally: NO.

Of course not. Like all of the Obama administration's fabrications, this is yet another fairy tale that everyone should ignore.

Come to think of it, that behavior smells of Goebbels, too.

Multiple choice test for 'progressives': which one is acceptable?

Barack H. Obama, 2009: "There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

George W. Bush, 2003: "There's lots o' crazy talk 'bout Saddam Hussein... not havin' nucular weapons and such. Them rumors are plumb crazy and sometimes get a little 'out of control' ***heh***, if you know what I mean. If you see or hear any of these misunderestimated lies, I'd urge y'all to do the patriotic thing and report 'em to wmd@whitehouse.gov. I promise I'll have Rummy on it, lickety-split!"

William J. Clinton, 1999: "Ms. Lewinsky, or as I look to call her -- "that crazy b***h" -- claimed I had sexshull relations with her nine separate times! Why, that's just in-sane! That's more times I've done it with Hillary in my life! Seriously! Oops. Did I say that out loud? Well, if y'all hear any of these lies and mistruths, I'm asking you, my beloved Americans, to notify either the authorities or Jim Carville, which ever strikes your fancy."

Ronald W. Reagan, 1987: "My fellow Americans, recent articles in the press have disclosed a highly classified program that would provide intelligence on Iran that might have allowed us to undermine the Ayatollah's government. Unfortunately, members of the press leaked this information in order to advance their radical agenda. Kinda sounds like 2004, eh? If you have information that would lead us to the leakers, please send a facsimile copy to the White House and we'll have Mark Levin deal with it."

Richard M. Nixon, 1972: "Ladies and gentlemen: I am not a crook! We've all heard many disturbing and untrue rumors regarding a break-in at the Watergate Hotel complex. I would urge you to telephone Chuck Colson or Howard Dean to report any untoward messages. We'll have some plumbers deal with the mess."

* * * * * * * * *

So, "progressives", tell us: which of these presidential behaviors is acceptable? Based upon the policy, that is, and not the ideology.

Oh -- and I'd be glad to spell it out phonetically if you can't understand the question.

"Guys, I hit a coyote!"

Bernie sent this one in.

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Brad Coleman was testing a Gibbs NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car at Arizona Proving Grounds earlier this week and came onto the radio and told his crew something rather unusual.

"Guys, I hit a coyote," Coleman said.

Coleman was running close to 200 mph around the 10-mile test track when he saw the animal wander under the outside guardrail.

"I'm in the middle of the corner, and I'm doing 190," Coleman said Friday at Nashville Superspeedway before practicing his Nationwide Series car. "I'm just cruising. You run the high line there, because that's where the most banking is. It's the high-speed lane. There's just a guardrail there like on the freeway.

"I see this thing, it must've been 100 feet in front of me, just jump out. Right when I saw it come out from under the guardrail, I thought, 'That's a coyote.'"

"The engine started smoking like crazy," Coleman said. "And it smelled terrible. I didn't see anything in the mirror, so I thought, 'I wonder where the coyote went?' I said, 'Guys, I hit a coyote. I'm going to come in because I think it screwed up the radiator. I think it clogged up the grille a little bit.'"

CBS News Uses Obscene Terminology to Tar Taxpayers

CBS News shows its true colors by painting law-abiding citizens in the most obscene of terms.

It really has come down to this: the Democrats, the unions and the mainstream media (let's call all three of those interchangeable parts the tax-takers) have aligned themselves against the taxpayers.

Cooper, you ignorant buffoon, why don't you read the Constitution for the first time in your life so you can understand why 65-year old women are shouting "tyranny" just before they are beaten down by union thugs?

Cash for Codgers: a Practical, Final Solution to the Health Care Crisis

A new government website called codgers.gov was introduced earlier today. The "Cash for Codgers" proposal aims to repair the Democrats' image problems related to health care while simultaneously expanding upon the "Cash for Clunkers" program.

The site explains the basic appeal of the program.

In order to address public concern with the federal government's proposals for health care reform and building upon the success of the popular "Cash for Clunkers" program, the Obama administration is proud to announce "Cash for
Codgers".

Each senior in your household (aged 65 or above) may be turned for a $4,500 instant cash reward at a conveniently located Senior Turn-In Center near you.

Each Senior will be disposed of humanely, using an intravenous drip consisting of a saline, morphine, short-acting barbiturate and a chemical paralytic solution. This saves the Social Security Administration and Medicare from spending between $40,000 to $80,000 for an average end-of-life treatment.

President Obama praised the proposal, calling it an "elegant and humane way to solve the health care crisis, Medicare spending deficits and the 'overwhelming number of right-wing zealots' who are seniors -- all at the same time!"

That David Axelrod is a genius!

"I want my dues back"

A "Town Hall" meeting turned angry yesterday when the AARP's spokes-idiots spouted fabrications that parroted the Statist campaign for socialized medicine. And, when their lies were challenged, they stormed off like petulant children, only less mature.

These members are doing the right thing by resigning their memberships in the AARP and joining groups that actually support seniors like 60plus.

Pat Dollard has the video. And ask yourself, "which side is acting rationally... and which is suppressing debate?"

Barack Obama versus Matt Drudge versus Google

Yesterday, Matt Drudge linked a video from 2003, featuring Barack Obama. The link was headlined, "Obama in '03 (Uncut): I’d Like to See a ‘Single Payer Health Care Plan'".

The video is labeled, "SEIU Health Care Forum 3/24/07," and shows Obama saying, "I don’t think we’re going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There’s going to be, potentially, some transition process: I can envision a decade out, or 15 years out, or 20 years out."

The Obama administration's response was swift. Linda Douglass, one of more than a dozen mainstream media journalists hired by the Obama administration, claims that Drudge was "taking sentences and phrases out of context, and they're cobbling them together to leave a very false impression."

In an email to the Wall Street Journal, Douglass wrote, "There is a lot of misinformation about health insurance reform circulating on the internet and elsewhere. Some of it is intentionally misleading... We want to be sure people have the facts about health insurance reform that will lower costs, protect consumers from insurance regulations that deny them coverage and assure quality and affordable health care for all Americans. We are not compiling lists or sources of information. We may post fact checks from time to time to be sure Americans know the truth about health insurance reform.”

Really?

Consider the following items, found in a matter of minutes using the amazing new "Google" search tool:

• In June 2008, the U.S. Conference of Mayors passed a resolution in support of single-payer health care; in addition, thirty-five state AFL-CIO organizations support single-payer health care. Does anyone really believe that if the AFL-CIO supports single-payer, Barack Obama would be opposed?

• In December 2006, The New York Times reported that in "two speeches and a news conference, Mr. Obama called for universal health care — the issue with which Mrs. Clinton, the New York Democrat, was once closely identified."

• Obama said, "I think that there is no reason why in a country that is spending as much on health care as we are that we can't provide basic coverage to everybody, and I don't think we should shy away from that. I think we should present an agenda for universal health care."

• "Universal health care" is synonymous with a single-payer system or any other form of mandatory, government-controlled health insurance. For example, The Case for Universal Health Care in the United States reports that "28 industrialized nations have single payer universal health care".

• Obama's been attacking insurers and pushing for single-payer for years. In 2007, The Boston Globe reported on Obama's lobbying connections while serving as a state senator:

When Barack Obama and fellow state lawmakers in Illinois tried to expand healthcare coverage in 2003 with the "Health Care Justice Act," they drew fierce opposition from the insurance industry, which saw it as a back-handed attempt to impose a government-run system... During debate over the [act], Obama also attacked the insurers, accusing the industry of "fear-mongering" by claiming, even after he made changes they wanted, that the bill would lead to a government takeover...

• In December of 2007, Politico ("Liberal views could haunt Obama") observed that, "Obama said he would support a single-payer health plan for Illinois... although such a program will probably have to be instituted at a federal level; the long-term objective would be a universal care system that does not differentiate between the unemployed, the disabled, and so on. The campaign says Obama has consistently supported single payer health care in principle."

• During a presidential debate aired by CNN on January 21, 2008, Obama said, "What I said was that if I were starting from scratch, if we didn't have a system in which employers had typically provided health care, I would probably go with a single-payer system."

• Finally, in a June 2009 speech to the AMA, Obama expressed admiration for single-payer systems, stating, "let me also address a illegitimate concern that's being put forward by those who are claiming a public option is somehow a Trojan horse for a single-payer system. I'll be honest, there are countries where a single-payer system works pretty well."

For Linda Douglass to market the proposition that Obama and the Democrats haven't pressed for single-payer -- whether through Barney Frank's frank admission or Obama's entire history as an ACORN and SEIU agitator -- is disingenuous at best and outrageous otherwise.

But it's not out of character for an administration that long ago tossed transparency, hope and change under the bus.

Smoking Gun: Health Insurance Lobby Really Did Pay Off Town Hall Protesters!

It's with deep regret that I produce irrefutable, rock solid evidence that the so-called "grass-roots opposition" to socialized medicine is a hoax. A fraud. A con. A flim-flam. A grift. A...

All of the disruptive protests were orchestrated by the health insurance industry, as you can see from this exclusive "smoking gun" memo.

All of these phony astroturfers should hang their heads in shame.

You've all been exposed as the paid mob of anti-government health care hypocrites that the Obama administration portrayed you as.

Disturbing Chart of the Day

Deutsche Bank predicts that the percentage of underwater mortgages in the U.S. will reach 48% by the first quarter of 2011.

Now combine this forecast with the fact that a negative loan-to-value (LTV -- or "underwater") mortgage is "the single most important factor" in a foreclosure, based upon a study of millions of individual loans.

Now add in the fact that some expert observers believe that an enormous block of homes -- whose mortgages have already defaulted -- are being hidden by banks to avoid the impact of write-downs on their balance sheets.

[This] "Shadow inventory has the potential to give us another leg down on home prices during the second half of the year," said Steven Wood, chief economist at Insight Economics in Danville, California... "It appears that there is a significant amount of shadow inventory in the form of bank owned properties, which will continue to grow with the rising in delinquencies," he said...

Doctor Housing Bubble concludes, "...with those toxic Alt-A mortgages, how many homeowners are going to opt for the ridiculous modifications that basically make them lifelong renters with zero mobility? ...Summer selling season is nearing the end and we are now going into the slow selling season with shadow inventory coming into the light."

Buckle your seat belts: it would appear that a major deflationary spiral has yet to unwind.

Each foreclosure harms the prices of neighboring homes; this leads to more underwater mortgages; which, in turn, results in more foreclosures... rinse and repeat until done. And banks will have to continue hiding as much shadow inventory as possible, especially in California, to prevent a real financial crisis.

Now consider that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were at the epicenter of the housing meltdown, purchasing and repackaging all sorts of toxic mortgages. And Congressional Democrats are blocking an investigation into those entities.

Given this outstanding track record, it's no wonder voters are so excited about the Democrats' effort to take over another one-sixth of the economy: the health care system. And it's a good thing we have such an experienced hand, with a phenomenal track record of economic achievement, serving in the White House.

Bernie's favorite de-motivational posters

Bernie has, uhm, a slightly different take on life.

If you see something, say something

Informants wanted, no experience necessary.

From the White House website:

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

I would encourage citizens to report any and all suspicious activities to the White House immediately. Especially if your parents, siblings or children are involved. It's your patriotic duty to fight those who oppose socialized medicine and the inexorable march to totalitarianism.
