Brown Strikes Gold: AmDig
Drop a few bucks on Senate candidate Scott Brown in Massachusetts if for no other reason than to tick Harry off.White House Inflates Stimulus Job Creation With Accounting Gimmicks
The Obama administration is changing the way it counts jobs created or saved by stimulus spending in a way that will make the programs look far more successful.Under the old rules, only jobs that were actually newly created or not lost because of stimulus money were counted. Now the administration plans to count all jobs for projects funded by stimulus money—even if that job already existed and the person was never in danger of losing the job.
The changes were made in a little noticed memo sent to federal agencies by OMB director Peter Orszag, according to a new report from ProPublica...
...California, for instance, claimed that stimulus spending had saved 18,000 corrections department jobs—when only 5,000 were scheduled to be cut. Under the new system, all of those jobs could be counted as products of the stimulus.
Not only did Massachusetts Senate candidate Scott Brown raise three-quarters of a million dollars in about fourteen minutes, but progressives got another slap in the face from the electorate today.

The Inconvenient Truth About the Democratic Machine: Obi's SisterI could tell you on another point... in my employment, and I have to confess that I do work for the federal government....We have hard about something called 'The Blue Card', which is some attempt to take illegals and grant them a legalized status, for a path towards citizenship. This is something that has been rumbling around, kinda heard on the sly and off the cuff, no [official] weight behind it, but we heard it.
And it's basically to give them intended lawful until they can either pay their fine or whatever [path] is intended to make them legal. It's so they can claim a path toward citizenship.
And this is all an attempt to try to overwhelm 'us' -- the system -- by trying to push all [of] these agendas through at once so we don't know what fight is next... first it was cap-and-trade, then it was health care, and now this is coming through the backdoor.
...the directive establishes more attractive conditions for third-country workers to take up highly qualified employment in the member states of the Union, by creating a fast-track procedure for issuing a special residence and work permit called the “EU Blue Card”.
The Blue Card will facilitate access to the labour market to their holders and will entitle them to a series of socio-economic rights and favourable conditions for family reunification and movement across the EU...
Under the rules set by the directive, EU Blue Card holders will enjoy equal treatment with nationals of the member state issuing the Blue Card, as regards... social security and pensions... access to goods and services, including procedures for obtaining housing, information and counselling services...
Over the last several election cycles, employees of the community organizing group ACORN were found to have forged thousands of voter registrations in dozens of states. According to former ACORN officials, as many as half of all of the group's voter registrations were fraudulent. And the total number of bogus submissions by the group's employees during the last election cycle alone could be as high as 600,000.
ACORN's preferred method appears to combine a fraudulent voter registration with an equally bogus absentee ballot. For this reason, observers speculate, the last few election cycles have seen huge increases in the number of absentee ballots cast.
• STLtoday, 2008: "Absentee ballots double in St. Louis, increase statewide".
By far the most insidious tactic used by ACORN and related groups is the "found ballot". Whenever election outcomes are razor thin, you can expect that ACORN's thousands of voter registrations -- along with absentee ballots -- will be "discovered" to add new votes to the Democrat candidate's total.
In 2004 Dino Rossi, the Republican candidate, won the state of Washington's governorship by a narrow margin. But that victory proved short-lived. Election officials:

AP, January 09, 2010Reid Apologizes for Racist Remarks on Obama Two Years Ago
The top Democrat in the U.S. Senate apologized on Saturday for comments he made about Barack Obama's race during the 2008 presidential bid.Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described then-Sen. Barack Obama as "light skinned" and "with no Negro dialect." Obama is the nation's first African-American president.
"I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words. I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African-Americans for my improper comments," Reid said in a statement released after the excerpts were reported on the Web site of The Atlantic.
"I was a proud and enthusiastic supporter of Barack Obama during the campaign and have worked as hard as I can to advance President Obama's legislative agenda."

And for what better reason, Harry, than because Barack Obama is "light skinned" and "with no Negro dialect"?
Welcome to Thunderdome, Arnie.
Even more startling:
And the civilian labor force continues to shrink apace, hitting a five-year low of 64.6%:
Further, as you might expect of the Democrat braintrust of Obama, Pelosi and Reid -- and their plans to centrally plan one-sixth of the economy -- the news gets considerably worse:
• A "major reason that a depression hasn’t appeared and the public is not in open revolt" is that a record 20 million people received unemployment benefits in 2009.
