They were called liars every time they said this.

At any time, they could have exposed their critics as the anti-American, terrorist-coddling hyperpartisans they were, by revealing this crown jewel of American intelligence... But they didn't... They allowed their names to be slurred on a daily basis in order to preserve the secret. To allow Obama to capitalize on the information they procured.

Bin Laden Death Photo: Well, At Least This One Doesn't Look Fake

O.G. relays this photo of what is presumed to be UBL's carcass before it was dispatched to the deep.

I can't verify its authenticity but, then again, I can't not verify its authenticity either. The most recent Drudge flash casts doubt, stating: "The images, being described as 'graphic', are bound to stir emotions in the east and the west, and will likely become the most viewed photographs in modern history... One image shows a bullet wound to his head above his left eye. "

Update: O.G. observes that this photo matches the description "if it's flipped, dumbass."

Ooooooh.

Dems' worst nightmare: Terror Wiretaps plus Invasion of Iraq plus Rendition plus Waterboarding Led to Bin Laden

Go ahead and say it: Dick Cheney rocks.

1. 2003: Enhanced Interrogation of Khalid Sheikh Mohammad Results in the Nom De Guerre of bin Ladin's Courier...

2. 2004: Enhanced Interrogation of al-Qahtani Confirms the Nom De Geure of bin Ladin's Courier...

3. 2006 (?): Enhanced Interrogation of an Al Qaeda Captured in Iraq, Ghul, Produces the Real Name of the Courier...

4. 2006-2009: NSA Begins Furiously Intercepting Any And All Communications Made By Anyone "al-Kuwaiti" Has Ever Known...

5. Late 2010 (?): al-Kuwaiti Places a Very Ill-Advised Phone Call... "[conversing] with someone who was being monitored by U.S. intelligence... the courier [then] unknowingly led authorities to a [bizarre] compound in the northeast Pakistani town of Abbottabad..."

6. 2011: Surveying Abbottabad, We Grow Confident We've Found Bin Ladin's Hideout...

7. April 29-May 1 2011: Obama's Team Tells Him They Have High Confidence Bin Ladin (or at Least His Most Trusted Courier) is In the Compound, and Obama Agrees, and Orders the Raid; On May 1 It's Executed By SEAL Team 6...

8. May 2011: Begin a Disinformation Campaign To Convince the Public That 2003-2008 Never Happened...

Which leads to commenter Dan disclosing the new, MSM/DNC-approved timeline (not that they're trying to politicize this, mind you).

1. 1/21/09 OB gathers his inner circle and tells them that there is this real bad guy that Bush totally forgot about and didn't care that he secretly murdered 3,000 people early in Bush's administration and OB wanted him found ASAP.

2. 2/14.09 OB kicks out Bush incompetent an replaces him with super sleuth Leon Panetta because of his vast experience in espionage and fabulous motivational skills.

3. 2/15/09 OB tells Panetta that I'm 95% confident OBL is in Pakistan, probably somewhere just North of Islamabad in a house with high walls and maybe three stories and two security gates.

4. 2/21/09 OB tells Panetta that he intercepted a call from a guy who is really close to OBL and to drop everything else and totally focus only on him.

You know, a bigger man would humbly thank President Bush, Vice President Cheney, SecDef Rumsfeld, and all of our brave military and intelligence personnel for capping Bin Laden.

But then a bigger man wouldn't be a Narcissistic, Marxist ideologue with a penchant for parties, endless campaigning and golf.

He said two themes struck him: First was the ability of Bin Laden to live in comfort some 60 miles from Pakistan's capital.

The other theme that struck this career soldier, who participated in the hunt for Bin Laden, could perhaps be expected in political Washington the year before a presidential election... But it was that such an inherently complex military team operation was being framed by Obama aides to steer way too much credit to the spectators in the White House and away from the unidentified operatives and their vast military support network." --Andrew Malcolm

NPR: Obamacare Will Swamp Emergency Rooms With "Insured" Patients

If you want to see the preview trailer of Obamacare, just visit Massachusetts.

In its stab at universal coverage, now four years old, Massachusetts has seen these consequences: overcrowded ERs, longer waiting times to see doctors, more than 50% of primary care doctors closing practices to new patients, and the highest health care premiums in the nation.

So much for lowering health costs and expanding access. And all of this in state with more primary care physicians per capita than any other state, in a state with fewer uninsured than any other state, and in a state with an individual mandate and a health plan said to be a model for Obamacare.

[NPR reports] “Hospital emergency rooms (ERs), the theory goes, get overcrowded because people without health insurance have no place else to go. But that's not the view of the doctors who staff those emergency departments, says NPR.

The real problem, according to a new survey from the American College of Emergency Physicians, isn't caused by people who don't have insurance -- it's caused by people who do, but still can't find a doctor to treat them.

• A full 97 percent of ER doctors who responded to the survey said they treated patients "daily" who have Medicaid (the federal-state health plan for the low-income), but who can't find a doctors who will accept their insurance.

• At the same time, 97 percent of ER doctors also said they treat patients daily who have private insurance and primary care doctors, but whose primary care doctors sent them to the emergency room for care... because the patient's need for care arose during a time when that private doctor's office was closed.

• Since these insured patients are more -- not less -- likely to use the emergency department, 89 percent of physicians in the survey said they believe the number of visits to emergency rooms will increase as the new health law is implemented.

The money quote, one often repeated by -- uhm -- rational observers, is this:

"Having health insurance doesn’t guarantee access to care. Period."

Man, But These Mass Murderers Are Hard to Please

Dan from New York:

Let this be a lesson to our current President. A Muslim man kills thousands of your countrymen, then you treat his remains with undue respect, and in the Muslim world what does it gets you?

Islamic leader condemns bin Laden sea burial

CAIRO (Reuters) – The head of Egypt's prestigious seat of Sunni Muslim learning, al-Azhar, condemned U.S. troops' disposal of the body of Osama bin Laden at sea Monday as an affront to religious and human values.

Muslims set great store by interment in permanent graves on land and accept burial at sea only in cases where the body cannot be preserved intact aboard ship until it reaches shore.

"The Grand Imam, Dr Ahmed El-Tayeb, the sheikh of Al-Azhar condemned the reports, if true, of the throwing of the body of Osama bin Laden into the sea," according to a statement released by al-Azhar, which is respected around the world by many Sunni Muslims as a seat of religious learning.

The procedure "contradicts all the religious values and human norms," it said: "The Grand Imam asserted that it is forbidden in Islam to deform the dead, regardless of their beliefs. One honors the dead by burying them."

U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said bin Laden's body was dropped into the sea from the deck of an aircraft carrier after troops killed the al Qaeda leader in Pakistan. One said this was done to prevent his grave becoming a shrine. Another said Islamic customs had been respected.

A prominent Egyptian Islamist lawyer also condemned the U.S. move and said bin Laden should have been buried in his native Saudi Arabia, a U.S. ally and home to Islam's holiest sites.

"Isn't it enough that they killed him and displayed their joy to the world?" Montasser al-Zayat told Al Jazeera television. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a moral obligation to demand that it bury Osama on its land."

Yes, I'm sure they'll get right on that.

Photos: Bin Laden's 'Shocking' Hideout Was Discovered Thanks to Emperor Chimpy McBushitlerburton

ABC has the complete, "exclusive" slide-show that highlights the decidedly non-cavern-like opulence of UBL's last abode.

CNS News reports that senior intelligence officials were "shocked" by what they saw of the compound.

The first step on the trail was information about a courier, who had been a protégé of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of 9/11 attacks... "Detainees [in Gitmo] also identified this man as one of the few al Qaeda couriers trusted by bin Laden,” the senior administration official said. “They indicated he might be living with and protecting bin Laden.”

After first positively identifying this courier and then ultimately discovering the unusual compound where he and his brother lived in Abbottabad, Pakistan, U.S. intelligence officials believed they may well have discovered the hiding place of Osama bin Laden.

When we saw the compound where the brothers lived, we were shocked by what we saw--an extraordinarily unique compound... we had high confidence that the compound harbored a high-value terrorist target...[we] assessed that there was a strong probability that the terrorist that was hiding there was Osama bin Laden.

...One courier in particular had our constant attention. Detainees [in Gitmo] gave us his nom de guerre or his nickname and identified him as both a protégé of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of September 11th, and a trusted assistant of Abu Faraj al-Libbi, the former number three of al Qaeda who was captured in 2005... Detainees also identified this man as one of the few al Qaeda couriers trusted by bin Laden. They indicated he might be living with and protecting bin Laden. But for years, we were unable to identify his true name or his location.

Four years ago, we uncovered his identity, and for operational reasons, I can’t go into details about his name or how we identified him, but about two years ago, after months of persistent effort, we identified areas in Pakistan where the courier and his brother operated. Still we were unable to pinpoint exactly where they lived, due to extensive operational security on their part. The fact that they were being so careful reinforced our belief that we were on the right track.

Then in August 2010, we found their residence, a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, a town about 35 miles north of Islamabad. The area is relatively affluent, with lots of retired military. It’s also isolated from the natural disasters and terrorist attacks that have afflicted other parts of Pakistan. When we saw the compound where the brothers lived, we were shocked by what we saw -- an extraordinarily unique compound. The compound sits on a large plot of land in an area that was relatively secluded when it was built. It is roughly eight times larger than the other homes in the area.

When the compound was built in 2005, it was on the outskirts of the town center, at the end of a narrow dirt road. In the last six years, some residential homes have been built nearby. The physical security measures of the compound are extraordinary. It has 12- to 18-foot walls topped with barbed wire. Internal wall sections -- internal walls sectioned off different portions of the compound to provide extra privacy. Access to the compound is restricted by two security gates, and the residents of the compound burn their trash, unlike their neighbors, who put the trash out for collection.

The main structure, a three-story building, has few windows facing the outside of the compound. A terrace on the third floor has a seven-foot wall privacy--has a seven-foot privacy wall... It’s also noteworthy that the property is valued at approximately $1 million but has no telephone or Internet service connected to it. The brothers had no explainable source of wealth.

Intelligence analysts concluded that this compound was custom built to hide someone of significance. We soon learned that more people were living at the compound than the two brothers and their families. A third family lived there--one whose size and whose makeup matched the bin Laden family members that we believed most likely to be with Osama bin Laden. Our best assessment, based on a large body of reporting from multiple sources, was that bin Laden was living there with several family members, including his youngest wife.

Everything we saw--the extremely elaborate operational security, the brothers’ background and their behavior, and the location and the design of the compound itself was perfectly consistent with what our experts expected bin Laden’s hideout to look like. Keep in mind that two of bin Laden’s gatekeepers, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Abu Faraj al-Libbi, were arrested in the settled areas of Pakistan...

Consider the key aspects of this story:

• Gitmo detainees provided the critical intelligence regarding the courier.

• Interrogations of these detainees revealed the salient details.

• This data was uncovered during the Bush administration (in 2007, actually).

President Obama, of course, specifically omitted thanks of President Bush, Vice President Cheney, military brass, intelligence officials and others whose post-9/11 policies were viciously opposed by the Left and which led directly to this opportunity. Mark Levin notes:

For now, let me say not only how proud I am of our brave heroes in the military and intel services, but how troubling I found the president's comments last night. Not one word about General David Petraeus, not one word about CIA Director Leon Panetta. And even now, the White House is leaking information to the media aimed at building up Obama while diminishing the contribution of others. Well, he mentioned Panetta, but what I meant is, he did not praise or thank him, same with Petreaus... [and] Obama's single mention of Bush during his speech last night had nothing to do with all of Bush's efforts.

As Michelle Malkin points out, the President and his minions are now taking credit for the very policies they opposed.

Last night, I noted that much of the intelligence gathered that led to discovering bin Laden was developed by the detainees detained under the Bush administration at facilities like the one Obama wanted to shut down... Those facilities, US officials are now reporting, included the CIA secret prisons reviled by the Left, outed by the Washington Post, and condemned by... wait for it... President Obama.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Progressivism. But we already knew that.

I congratulate all the brave men and women who made this operation possible. We salute you.

Photos: Terry Jones visits Dearborn, Michigan; Muslim Protesters Get Their Tolerance On (Police in Riot Gear Forced to Respond)

Yesterday, controversial Pastor Terry Jones visited Dearborn, MI City Hall to give a speech about Islam, the Koran, Sharia law, the Constitution and free speech.

An overhead view depicts protesters on the far side and Jones and his supporters nearest to City Hall (nearest to us in this view).

Hundreds of protesters "broke through the [police] barricades and ran across the street" to confront the Jones contingent. They began throwing things at Jones, who had walked down the steps of City Hall towards them.

Terry Jones' supporters were on the other side of the barricade, some holding American flags.

Police unsuccessfully attempted to coerce the protesters to retreat.

At this point, police in riot gear were deployed.

An overhead view shows the line of armored-up police officers.

Police had Jones return to the podium at which point he resumed his speech.

The show of force finally persuaded protesters to retreat to the other side of Michigan Ave.

Several protesters were arrested, presumably for throwing bottles or rocks.

As Aaron Worthing points out, legacy media did its best to cover for the anti-free speech barbarians.

The New York Times called the crowd "boisterous". The Detroit News reported that Jones had "egged protesters on". The Detroit Free Press simply stated that "tempers flare[d]".

Which is why legacy media is called legacy media.

Survey: Nation's Unemployed Cheered by President Obama's Comedic Stylings at the White House Correspondents' Dinner

When the going gets tough, the tough 'lead from behind'. In this case, the President invested his time wisely in preparing music videos and a lengthy monologue at the White House Correspondents' dinner.

...And where is the National Public Radio table? (Cheering.) You guys are still here? (Laughter.) That's good. I couldn't remember where we landed on that. (Laughter.) Now, I know you were a little tense when the GOP tried to cut your funding, but personally I was looking forward to new programming like "No Things Considered" -- (laughter) -- or "Wait, Wait...Don't Fund Me." (Laughter.)

Of course, the deficit is a serious issue. That's why Paul Ryan couldn't be here tonight. His budget has no room for laughter. (Laughter.)

...Donald Trump is here tonight! (Laughter and applause.) Now, I know that he's taken some flak lately, but no one is happier, no one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than the Donald. (Laughter.) And that's because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter -- like, did we fake the moon landing? (Laughter.) What really happened in Roswell? (Laughter.) And where are Biggie and Tupac? (Laughter and applause.)

...You know, in the last months, we've seen journalists threatened, arrested, beaten, attacked, and in some cases even killed simply for doing their best to bring us the story, to give people a voice, and to hold leaders accountable. And through it all, we've seen daring men and women risk their lives for the simple idea that no one should be silenced, and everyone deserves to know the truth.

For a minute there, I thought he was talking about the brave souls at The San Francisco Chronicle.

Pass the Popcorn, Nahanni: Left Wing San Francisco Chronicle In All-Out P.R. War With Most Transparent Administration Ever

For an administration that likes to talk about "transparency", the Obama White House has earned the worst reputation for ostracizing media in modern American history.

Remember, in October of 2009, Obama's minions unsuccessfully attempted to ban cable news leader Fox News from the White House press pool.

Now, the most thin-skinned president ever (he's 'historic') is engaging in an all-out P.R. war with the ultra-left wing rag The San Francisco Chronicle.

Let's recap:

First, the Chronicle reported that the 'Administration exercise[d] its control freak streak' by threatening the paper after it reported unfavorable news:

It seems that Team Obama was none too pleased that veteran Chronicle political reporter Carla Marinucci posted a 40-second video of a group of supporters-turned-protesters serenading the president a cappella - "We paid our dues ... where's our change" - at a recent fundraising breakfast at San Francisco's St. Regis Hotel. The protesters' objection: the treatment of Wikileaks source Pfc. Bradley Manning.

The White House threatened that Marinucci would no longer be allowed to serve as a pool reporter during future Obama swings west. Marinucci's apparent offense was shooting video during an event that was closed to broadcast journalism...

...An administration truly dedicated to transparency would not require journalists to be "in the tank" as a condition of being in the pool.

Second, using its online public relations arm (the so-called "Politico", aka last refuge of downsized WaPo hacks), the White House denied it threatened the left-wing San Francisco newspaper.

The White House is denying that it threatened to exclude the San Francisco Chronicle from presidential events in its coverage area after one of its reporters recorded a video of singing protesters at a fundraiser last week that was restricted to print reporters...

...White House spokesman Josh Earnest told POLTICO on Friday that the Chronicle’s claims are “not true,” and that no such threat was ever made, but he wouldn’t provide further details...

Finally, the Chronicle today called the White House liars.

In a pants-on-fire moment, the White House press office today denied anyone there had issued threats to remove Carla Marinucci and possibly other Hearst reporters from the press pool covering the President in the Bay Area.

Chronicle editor Ward Bushee called the press office on its fib:

Sadly, we expected the White House to respond in this manner based on our experiences yesterday. It is not a truthful response. It follows a day of off-the-record exchanges with key people in the White House communications office who told us they would remove our reporter, then threatened retaliation to Chronicle and Hearst reporters if we reported on the ban, and then recanted to say our reporter might not be removed after all.

The Chronicle's report is accurate.

If the White House has indeed decided not to ban our reporter, we would like an on-the-record notice that she will remain the San Francisco print pool reporter.

I was on some of those calls and can confirm Ward's statement... Messy ball now firmly in White House court.

Mr. Producer, please cue the Joe Wilson "You lied!" soundtrack.

Oh and, hey, Nahanni -- where's the buttered popcorn, dear?

No We Can't -- Michele Bachmann asks 'Do you want to live in a country that is "leading from behind?"'

I didn't hear a rimshot after a White House adviser described President Obama's foreign policy doctrine this way, so I assume it was serious.

Obama may be moving toward something resembling a doctrine. One of his advisers described the president’s actions in Libya as "leading from behind."

— Ryan Lizza, the New Yorker, May 2 issue

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann asks the candid question every American -- except you whack-job progressive drones -- should be asking.

Do you want to live in a country that is "leading from behind?"

...an Obama advisor describes the President's approach to foreign policy as "leading from behind," a "doctrine" that "comes from two unspoken beliefs: that the relative power of the U.S. is declining, as rivals like China rise, and that the U.S. is reviled in many parts of the world."

As a member of Congress and as an American, the notion that America is an exceptional place has given me a sense of optimism about our future that has guided me throughout my career and my life... To have a President who expresses the opposite, a pessimism about America's place in the world paired with an acceptance to let the world abuse us and pass us by, is unprecedented in the history of our nation...

...While the President tries to mask this with verbal gymnastics, the American people know that "leading from behind" is not leading at all--it is following and it is weak.

The America that we love is the giant that defeated the Soviet Union and liberated Europe, the inventor of the Internet and motorized transportation, and a great and giving people whose Navy accurately proclaims herself as "the global force for good." Whether we continue this legacy of greatness is not up to China, nor does it rely on the opinion of the international community. Our capacity to be great is far more personal, determined by the capacity for boldness possessed by each of us and by those who we trust to lead us--this is the core principle of the American spirit. Presidents from Roosevelt to Kennedy to Reagan did not just believe this notion, they shouted it from the mountaintops yet, contrastingly, for a President who made "Yes We Can" a household saying, this new "Obama doctrine" is better summarized by "No, We Can't." Americans know that we can do better.

Indeed we can.

Michele Bachmann is a patriot for speaking the plain truth about this disastrous administration. You can visit her Facebook page here and donate to her PAC.

I hope she decides to run, because I can unequivocally support Michele Bachmann for President.

A Trifecta of Central Planning Headlines: GM Edition

And the hits just keep on coming for GM. Please consider the following evidence that central planning works (if you're a Marxist ideologue):

Forbes Gives You 2011 List Of Worst Cars on the Road

Forbes released the 2011 Worst Cars on the Road list and, shockingly, GM and Chrysler dominate the list.

Chevy Volt not for sale, but available for test drive at local dealers

Interesting strategy: build super-expensive "green cars", but not enough to actually sell any.

Why Are General Motors Shares Stuck in Reverse?

Gee, let me guess: they're funded by the central planners in Washington (with our money), their quality ranks among the worst of all automakers, and they're building cars they can't sell.

Great News: Mass Graves Discovered in Failed Narco-Terror State on Our Unprotected Southern Border

Curious: I didn't read this in legacy media.

The body count from two areas of mass graves in Mexico had grown to 279, the government announced. In Tamaulipas, forensics had pulled 183 bodies from the mass graves. In Durango state to the west, the government had found 96 bodies to date. Both states are disputed territories but little is known of the motives for the killings...

...In Tamaulipas, the Zetas are battling the Gulf Cartel for control of this lucrative corridor. Numerous victims were pulled from buses as they traveled north and bludgeoned with sledge hammers, authorities reported. In Durango, as InSight has pointed out, the battle may be internal between members of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Good thing that President Obama's Justice Department is suing Arizona so we can import more of this Hamas-style violence.

Gas Pump Sticky-Note Campaign: Pre-Printed Notes You Can Use!

The 'Gas Pump Sticky Note Campaign' is spreading.

Rather than hand-written notes, I've decided to create a set that you can print.

Here are the first two of the set.

Feel free to post suggestions for different versions. The idea is to use real news stories and data to highlight the radical, destructive and extra-Constitutional policies of the Obama administration.
