Just another government story [JP]

JP writes:

Not a really big story, but I went to get my 87-year old mother's RX filled today. She's had gout for at least 20 years.

She's been on the same medicine the entire time, a generic, and it cost her about $20.00 a month.

Today the prescription was $120.00. She can no longer afford to get it filled. It would seem that the generic has been ordered off the market by the FDA. It's the most common medication prescribed for gout, a very common condition that is, like most degenerative conditions, on the rise.

I'd like to help her out but I'm entering my second year of funemployment and my husband lost his job a month ago. Your depression photos featuring "The Golfer" resonate especially well with me.

Keep up the good work. Without people like you I would sink into complete despair.

God bless you and your family, JP.

We're thinking of you in these tough times. And let's all turn these Statists out in 2012, once and for all.

Say, about that DNC plan to make the auto bailout a central theme of the 2012 election...

Jim Geraghty tracks the inevitable expiration date that must accompany all of Barack Obama's promises.

Politico, May 14:

President Barack Obama and his allies in two big industrial unions appear poised to make the auto bailout — begun under President George W. Bush in 2008 — a central issue of the 2012 campaign. With General Motors back on its feet — it announced $2 billion in new investments at 18 GM plants Tuesday — and losses from the government’s intervention shaping up to be minimal, Democrats hope to punish Republican presidential candidates for their early opposition.

The news, today: “WASHINGTON – The Obama administration said Wednesday that the government will lose about $14 billion in taxpayer funds from the bailout of the U.S. auto industry.”

Taxpayers spent only $14 billion to get GM to make $2 billion in new investments! Yay!

Also note this comment from the president, which he has probably forgotten, or that he hopes everyone else will forget:

President Obama, July 29, 2010: “We are going to get all the money back that we invested in those car companies.”

As I may have mentioned a time or two, all statements from Barack Obama come with an expiration date. All of them.

Gee, I was never too keen at math, but $14 billion spent... minus $2 billion in realized investments equals... carry the one... $12 billion. That's how much Obama stuck the taxpayers -- actually the taxpayers' kids and grandkids -- with. And yes, I ended a sentence with a preposition. That's how exasperated I am with this disastrous president.

And where did that $12 billion go?

The United Auto Workers (UAW) union, one would assume.

And where will most of it end up? You've got it, Sparky,

Right back at the DNC for the 2012 election cycle.

As a wry commenter observes, "It's the Circle of Democrat Life, Simba."

Weiner's little problem: why does the housekeeper's son look like a miniature 'Conan the Barbarian'?

Today's best Weiner comments emanate from the erudite (that's a first: two seven-letter words that start and end with the letter e -- in the same sentence?) New York Magazine:

Weiner's little problem (hah, a jest) is that if he DOES call in law enforcement and he's full of crap, well he can go to jail for telling fibs to the FBI. Which oh just might es'plain why he's seemingly shy about pursuing prosecution for a breach of online security of a person with a high security clearance (yeah, nobody would bother with such a prosecution, would dey?).

Most likely scenario: they suddenly discover a "staffer" that "had access to the accounts" and did this terrible thing as a "bad joke." Weiner declines to prosecute and said staffer disappears into the wilderness with a bag of money or a cushy job in some government department somewhere (the media will have zero interest in what happens to the staffer, so we'll never hear the story).

--Commener peterike

Awfully suspicious. And not in a why-won't-he-release-the-birth-certificate way or a the-maid-was-a-plant-by-his-political-opponents way, but in a that-housekeeper's-kid-looks-a-lot-like-conan-the-barbarian way.

--RealityCzech

Ann Coulter insists that this entire matter be settled in Small Claims Court.

But, Melvin, he's so historic: 'we’re on the verge of a great, great depression'

LC writes:

Today, CNBC, a media outlet that was an unofficial arm of the 2008 Obama campaign, rang the fire alarm on the US economy. Below, CNBC refers to "near panic," a "sputtering" economy, "low yields," on the verge of a "Great, Great Depression." No, this isn't FOX News, Glenn Beck, or even Rush Limbaugh. It's... brace yourselves, folks... it's from N... B... C.

Oh, my.

Wall Street Baffled by Slowing Economy, Low Yields: Trader

01 Jun 2011 | 11:06 AM ET

Wall Street is having a hard time figuring out what to do now that the U.S. economy appears to be sputtering and yields are so low, Peter Yastrow, market strategist for Yastrow Origer, told CNBC.

"What we’ve got right now is almost near panic going on with money managers and people who are responsible for money," he said. "They can not find a yield and you just don’t want to be putting your money into commodities or things that are punts that might work out or they might not depending on what happens with the economy... Stocks extended losses after the manufacturing fell below expectations in May and the private sector added only 38,000 jobs during the month.

"Interest rates are amazingly low and that, thanks to Ben Bernanke, is driving everything," Yastrow said. "We’re on the verge of a great, great depression. The [Federal Reserve] knows it.

"We have many, many homeowners that are totally underwater here and cannot get out from under. The technology frontier is limited right now. We definitely have an innovation slowdown and the economy’s gonna suffer."

If this Republic is to survive, we need to elect a president in 2012 who will operate using a playbook unknown to the Left:

The Constitution.

The document upon which politicians swear to the Creator to protect and uphold. And then, in the case of Barack Obama, promptly ignores.

The Constitution. Faith, family, individual liberty, private property rights.

Not big government, unchecked entitlements, mandated light bulbs and shower heads; not Europe-lite.

The Constitution. Thousands of years of human experience codified into a single document that created the greatest system of government ever seen on the face of the Earth. Not perfect, because no system is perfect, but the most perfect ever created.

We need to elect a president in 2012 that will protect all Americans, not the racial separatist groups, not the race-baiters, not the imploding welfare state addicts, not the politicians addicted to unlimited power. A president who will protect all Americans and, by logical extension, the American system of government itself.

It's 2012 or never.

Rep. Dan Landry (R-LA) rips invitation to Obama White House into tiny pieces, lights the pieces on fire, then urinates all over them

Well, metaphorically speaking, that is.

A freshman GOP lawmaker rejected an invitation to the White House on Wednesday, saying he didn't want to be “lectured” by President Obama... Rep. Jeff Landry (La.) said ... “I don’t intend to spend my morning being lectured to by a president whose failed policies have put our children and grandchildren in a huge burden of debt.”

Landry said he would not sit down with Obama to negotiate on a deficit reduction compromise until Obama produces his own budget plan... “Until the president produces a responsible deficit reduction plan, I’m not going to the White House to negotiate with myself. Our conference has put out for months where we would start the process..."

...Landry also criticized Obama for neglecting to meet with the Louisiana delegation about a drilling moratorium off the Gulf of Mexico... “The President has done nothing, just like he has for the people of the Gulf Coast... For months, the Louisiana delegation has sent the president numerous requests to meet with him or his chief of staff concerning the de facto moratorium issued in the Gulf of Mexico, a de facto moratorium that has driven gas prices up and now threatens to derail economic recovery; the president hasn’t even had the courtesy to write us a note back... [this meeting is just] political grandstanding” on Obama’s part.

“I refuse to partake in his political grandstanding that will ultimately do nothing for debt reduction and job creation,” Landry said.

As Darren 'Wall Street' Bettencourt said of 'The Transporter', "Hmmm, I like him."

This is one GOP freshman with stones and, for that, we salute you, Congressman. That is what you call speaking truth to power.

The Obamaconomy in Two Mind-Blowing Pictures

"Winning the Future™, Obama-style."

In April, I reported on the Obama FoodStampCorps’s mission to enroll countless more food-stamp beneficiaries... Looks like they’re accomplishing their mission of dependency in spectacular fashion...

Food stamp usage by the American people reached a new high last month as more than 44 million people relied upon the government benefit to purchase necessary groceries for their families.

A new chart issued by the Supplimental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) on May 31st showed that just under 14.5% of the American public received food stamp benefits that averaged $133.24 per person.

As you've probably noticed, the federal government isn't feeling your pain.

Number of government-owned limos has soared under Obama

Limousines, the very symbol of wealth and excess, are usually the domain of corporate executives and the rich. But the number of limos owned by Uncle Sam increased by 73 percent during the first two years of the Obama administration, according to an analysis of records by iWatch News.

Oh, and then there's this: CNBC is reporting that the 'double dip' in housing prices is far worse than expected.

I wonder when legacy media will publish the entire list of failed Obama programs: from "Cash for Clunkers" to HAMP, TARP, Stimulus, QE2, ... etc.?

That's a rhetorical question, Sparky.

Kudos to CNN's Dana Bash: Absolutely Shreds Anthony's Weiner Over His Refusal to State Whether He Tweeted the Weiner (Transcript)

CNN's Dana Bash has a brand new fan and that fan's name is me.

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) tells CNN he will no longer discuss a controversy surrounding a lewd photo sent from his Twitter account...

DANA BASH, CNN SENIOR CONGRESSIONAL CORRESPONDENT: Congressman, could you just ask - answer point blank, you say that you were hacked, which is potentially a crime. So why haven't you asked the Capitol Police for any law enforcement to investigate?

REP. ANTHONY WEINER (D), NEW YORK: Look, this was a prank that I've now been talking about for a couple of days. I am not going to allow it to decide what I talk about for the next week or the next two weeks. And so I'm not going to be giving you anything more about that today. I think I've been pretty responsive to you in the past.

BASH: But - but with respect, you're here, which we - which we appreciate, but you're not answering the questions. Can you just say why you haven't asked law enforcement to investigate what you are alleging is a crime?

WEINER: You - you know, Dana, if I was giving a speech to 45,000 people and someone in the back of the room threw a pie or yelled out an insult, would I spent the next two hours responding to that? No.

To her credit, Bash was having none of it. Her tweet didn't include a tawdry photo. It simply read:

Here's a news flash for Weiner: this story ain't going away.

In fact, the high school girl, porn star and other young ladies that Weiner followed (only around 90 people worldwide at the time he the hacker tweeted the undie shot) might have some interesting stories about other Weiner messages they could sell to The National Enquirer.

For big bucks.

10 Absolutely Bizarre Photos From the Democrat Utopia of North Korea

Behance has an entire gallery of spooky, posed photographs from the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) aka North Korea.

How do you photograph one of the most secretive countries in the world?
For Charlie Crane the answer was simple, photograph what they want you to see. If there is no possibility of getting underneath the surface then the answer was to photograph the surface itself. This series is taken from a larger body of work in Pyongyang, the capital city of North Korea... Although not commonly thought of as a holiday destination all these photographs have been taken at tourist sites throughout the city.

Remember: this is the inevitable endgame for the Democrat Party's incessant, eight-decade drive for ever more centralized, authoritarian government. Their various mandates -- governing energy, health care, retirement, automobile design, shower heads, you name it -- must be enforced through compulsion. That is: they must use force over the individual to compel adherence to their unconstitutional dictates.

That is what the Democrat Party's failed policies must inevitably devolve into: tyranny.

You can see the whole album here.

Proof that Weiner's account wasn't hacked; and: will the Daily Show's Jon Stewart speak truth to power? [JTT]

JTT:

1) Imagine you are a hacker and want to send one blast twitpic from Weiner's account, what do you send? Hmmm...

Answer: something much more hackworthy than the Weiner in grey undies.

2) Since Jon Stewart (and Huma Weiner) both know what this weasel's skinny legs look like, you think Jon will go there tonight? You know, speak some truth to power?

"Its a semi-known and entirely weird fact that, after college, New York Congressman Anthony Weiner and Daily Show host Jon Stewart shared an apartment in Soho. Well, technically, Stewart and Weiner's girlfriend shared an apartment, and Weiner was the guy who was there all the time, walking around in his boxers and drinking the last of the milk. "I was living there more or less because I was bumming off of my girlfriend," Weiner tells City Scoops today. "Technically speaking, I was living in my mom’s house." But they still talk, and Weiner dutifully TiVos The Daily Show every day. But he's not sure if he likes it. "I think it has a bit of a corrosive effect on my business," he says."

I wonder if Weiner the hacker ever sent raunchy photos to the female high-school student and the other young cuties he followed?

And, say, I wonder if legacy media is working on that angle? That's a rhetorical question, Sparky. Of course they're not. He's a Democrat. Hell, he could smash his car into a pond, drown a woman, not report it for half-a-day and then still be a lionized hero to the Left.

Monday, May 30, 2011

Transcript: Weiner stiffens defenses against #Weinergate "distraction", lawyers up, and insists that we all "move on"

Robert Stacy McCain has been pursuing the Weinergate story since it broke and earlier today he relayed word that Weiner has hardened his stance on the lewd photo allegations.

New York Rep. Anthony Weiner has retained an attorney to advise him “what civil or criminal actions should be taken” after a lewd picture was sent from his Twitter account... Weiner, who has represented part of New York City since 1998, says online hacking led to a close-up shot of a man’s underwear being sent from his official Twitter account Saturday night...

...Weiner’s office did not answer specific questions about the photograph, whether he has contacted authorities or the Seattle woman who received the photograph... He has said that his Facebook was hacked and if his Twitter had the same password, that too could be vulnerable...

...The key point about Weiner’s retaining counsel and making noises about “civil or criminal actions” is that it permits the congressman to employ the old “ongoing legal proceedings” excuse not to talk about the case. Anyone who remembers the Clinton administration will be familiar with this tactic: “Oh, well, we’re exploring our legal options and aren’t at liberty to discuss an ongoing investigation.”

Interviewed briefly by CNN, Weiner was curiously incurious about the pursuit of the person(s) who compromised his Twitter account.

I was hacked, it happens to people. You move on.

This is a prank, uhh, not a terribly creative one, and it's a distraction...

Look... you've got Republicans playing games with the debt limit, a Supreme Court Justice who is refusing to recuse himself despite conflicts of interest, you have a health care act that's under siege, this... this is a distraction.

Oh. Right. It's a distraction.

We should move on. C'mon, people. Nothing to see here. Move along.

QOTD: "...hacks [like that which Wiener is alleging] these days are crimes, and are especially serious when directed at Members of Congress. If his Twitter account has been compromised, what else would the attackers have access to? Instead of reporting the attack to the FBI though, Weiner has made jokes, and in fact keeps joking about it. This is unreasonable behavior in the face of an actual attack, however if it weren’t hack, then to report one would probably be a crime in itself.

So, Congressman Weiner, it’s up to you: Admit the truth, or file a formal criminal report with the attached penalties for filing a false report. Your own party has been making a big deal about “Cybersecurity” lately as a pretext for an Internet Kill Switch and other power grabs. Set an example, or admit the old Reichstag routine. Your call." --Neil Stevens

Sunday, May 29, 2011

Now that @GennetteNicole has broken her #Weinergate silence, I have just a couple of questions for her and @RepWeiner

Now that Weinergate has begun seeping leaking into traditional media (e.g., CBS, WaPo and National Review), the intended recipient of the Weiner-shot, Twitter user @GennetteNicole, has posted her side of the story.

In short:

• Her online relationship with Weiner had been mocked by a person who had "harassed" her "after the Congressman followed me on Twitter a month or so ago"

• She lays the blame for the Weiner photo on this person, never explaining how Weiner's account was hacked or compromised

• She says that she was not Weiner's girlfriend, had never met him, nor had "any inappropriate exchanges between Anthony Weiner and myself" occurred

Her statement avoids all of the incriminating details, prompting several questions:

1. Had you and Weiner exchanged direct messages before on Twitter? If so, can you reveal the nature of those messages since there weren't "any inappropriate exchanges"?

2. Why did Weiner add the #Thats545InSeattleIThink hash-tag to the tweet just before he the hacker sent the crotch shot? And why did you re-tweet that particular message?

3. Were you aware that porn star Ginger Lee boasted that she has received direct messages from Weiner in the past?

4. Would you agree that there are, as Robert Stacy McCain lays it out describes it, only two alternatives to this story?

  1. Weiner, a member of Congress with a high security clearance, was the victim of a federal crime involving a breach of his online communications accounts; or
  2. Weiner sent a picture of his penis to a college girl.

Since you obviously believe the first alternative, would you join us in requesting that the FBI investigate this egregious hacking incident immediately?

5. Come to Now that I think of it, have you contacted Rep. Weiner to find out why he hasn't contacted federal authorities regarding this breach of his verified account?

Gennette, I thank you for your public statement. Now it's time to tell the rest of the story. We only want to get the facts straight, right? And ensure this doesn't happen to other young innocents who receive lewd photos from Weiner malicious hackers?

Update: Weinergate: Two more coincidences.

Update II: The New York Post reports:

it appeared that Cordova and Weiner — a prolific user of social-networking sites who has run for mayor and indicated he will do so again — had some interaction on Twitter before.

Cordova began following Weiner on Twitter during the time his own tweets previously placed him in Seattle, and according to her statement, he began “following” her on the site, too.

Oopsie!

Update III: Gennette Was Not Alone… Weiner’s Twitter Friends Include Pages of (Very) Young, Cute Female Fans

President Obama came to Joplin to chew bubble-gum and do some prayin'; and he's fresh out of prayin'

Hopefully, he didn't snap his gum during the service.

Classy as always... Obama sits in front row and chews gum during the sermon at the Joplin Memorial Service. Maybe he learned this at his Trinity Church?

C'mon, Jim -- it's not fair to lay this at the feet of Wright.

Maybe he's just forgotten how to behave in church.

The Complete #Weinergate Timeline: Crack investigative journalists at Politico ignore overwhelming evidence it really was Weiner's wiener

When it comes to investigating Democrats -- especially nascent Democrat superstars -- the hacks at Politico must turn a blind eye to facts, logic and reason. Which also explains why they are Democrats. Consider what "media" must ignore to believe Rep. Anthony Weiner's story that the photo tweeted from his account, depicting a skinny white dude with bulging underwear, was not him. He asserts, on his Twitter account and through spokesmen, that his social accounts were all hacked and then immediately recovered somehow.

Consider this timeline:

03/13/2011 00:00 @GingerLee (porn star) boasts that she received a direct message from Weiner
04/09/2011 00:00 @GennetteNicole tweets "I wonder what my boyfriend @RepWeiner is up to right now"
04/10/2011 20:15 @Solzilla observes that "@GennetteNicole's @RepWeiner crush is cute."
04/12/2011 00:00 @maggiehenning, a school girl, tweets "talking to Rep Weiner ... right now! is my life real?"
04/13/2011 00:00 @patriotusa76 jeers "@repweiner talking to high-school girls now. Freak."
04/19/2011 00:00 @patriotusa76 notes that "@RepWeiner ... unfollowed 1 school girl. Now has 1 left ... initials: GN..."
04/19/2011 00:00 @GennetteNicole replies: "Are you insinuating that I'm a child? Don't mention in anymore tweets..."
05/13/2011 00:00 @maggiehenning, a school girl, tweets "@RepWeiner you used to follow me :( don't forget me!!!"
05/27/2011 16:00 @RepWeiner tweets that he is "Heading to 30 Rock to chat with Rachel at 9. #Thats545InSeattleIThink"
05/27/2011 19:30 @GennetteNicole re-tweets @RepWeiner's "30 Rock" message along with "#Thats545InSeattleIThink"
05/27/2011 20:00 @RepWeiner tweets "@GennetteNicole http://yfrog.com/h25m3luj"; the skinny white male erection photo
05/27/2011 20:04 @RepWeiner tweets "Killng me!! RT @kknapp1: @RepWeiner that is a tragedy! #EpicGame"
05/27/2011 20:05 @RepWeiner tweets "my tivo ate the hockey game! #WhoCanISue?"
05/27/2011 20:08 @RepWeiner tweets "@kknapp1 just kill me now."
05/27/2011 21:00 @RepWeiner tweets "Tivo eats the hockey game and Versus taunts me with endless postgame."
05/27/2011 21:10 @RepWeiner tweets "Followers of my lame hockey tweets recall i picked tb and nashville. #NotSoBrilliant"
05/27/2011 21:24 @RepWeiner tweets "Tivo shot. FB hacked. Is my blender gonna attack me next?"
05/28/2011 14:00 Gennette Nicole Cordova's social accounts are deleted (Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
05/28/2011 14:00 Congressman Weiner's yfrog photo albums are completely deleted along with suspicious tweets
05/28/2011 18:00 Gennette Nicole Cordova's web references, including her byline on school news stories, are deleted

Rather than preserve the "evidence" of the "hack", Weiner, Cordova and perhaps others involved have done precisely the opposite. They have laid waste to online evidence linking them. They have seemingly reviewed every web cache and social network attempting to delete stories, photos, names and any other possible references to their relationship.

And, somehow, the "hacker" -- in the midst of a series of tweets by Weiner -- was able to compromise both his Twitter and YFrog accounts, post a photo of someone who resembles Weiner, and then have control of the accounts wrestled back by the Congressman in a matter of a couple of minutes.

Yeah, that's believable. Politico, please change your name to Pwntico. Oh, and as for The New York Post -- how about The New York Pwnt?

A "computer hack" like this is a criminal matter. Why hasn't Weiner reported it to the authorities?

Photos: Anthony Weiner's Self-Proclaimed Girlfriend is a 21-Year Old Coed, only 25 Years Younger Than the Married Congressman

Earlier today, Congressman Anthony Weiner appears to have made an underwhelming debut on Twitter. Which is to say, Weiner seems to have fat-fingered a direct message to a young lady, instead publicly replying to her. His tweet included a link to a photo of a skinny white male wearing briefs while in an aroused state.

Robert Stacy McCain offers some details on the mystery lady, who earlier had publicly tweeted that Weiner is her boyfriend:

Gennette Nicole Cordova is a student at Whatcom Community College, Bellingham, Wash., where she is a reporter for the student newspaper, Horizon... It must be emphasized that at this point we have no idea whether Ms. Cordova actually knows Rep. Weiner, whether her Twitter claim of him being her “boyfriend” was just a joke, or whether Rep. Weiner actually communicated with Ms. Cordova.

Let’s hope Rep. Weiner will clarify this confusion, before the media scrum descends on Ms. Cordova... The congressman’s office can either answer those questions — and answer them PDQ — or else wait until every political reporter on the West Coast is camped out in front of Ms. Cordova’s house.

If Ms. Cordova's assertion -- that she is dating Anthony Weiner (D-NY) -- is accurate, a couple of things are clear:

• Weiner's a freaking degenerate - forget just cheating on his wife, how about cheating on his wife with someone young enough to be his daughter?

• Weiner's a technological dunce - using Twitter to send randy photos (DM instead of @, oops!)

Ironic Surrealism has done much of the heavy lifting on the story, revealing several heretofore unknown digital assets.

If this story pans out -- and odds are increasing by the second that it is accurate -- then Weiner's career is over.

Oh, yeah, you're right. I forgot about Ted Kennedy. In that case, Weiner's career may just be getting started. In fact, someday he'll probably be a "lion of the Senate", too.

Update: Lee Stranahan:

As I write this, the tweet is still up at TweetCongress.org.

So, around the same time he was tweeting about hockey, he sends the underwear photos to that woman at @GennetteNicole. Don’t bother looking there, though. Rep. Weiner’s photos are all erased. And Gennette seems to have deleted her entire Twitter account. And, it seems, her Facebook account.

Look what RepWeiner tweeted earlier in the evening. I don’t know what it means, but look..why is he talking about Seattle?

Well, Gennette seems to live in Seattle. Could be a weird coincidence. Or about 5 of them.

Oops.

Update II: Commenter yarrrr observes that @GennetteNicole retweeted Weiner's Seattle/Maddow message:

Oops, part deux.

Update III: Ace, acting as a caustic agent:

I continue assuming, as Weiner says, that his Twitter account and his separate-company yfrog picture account were simultaneously hacked, and then someone sent this stuff to a college student in Seattle, and also, for reasons I don't get, he previously posted a helpful "that's about 5:45 in Seattle" tweet when discussing an upcoming appearance on Maddow.

I also assume that, after immediately wrestling control of these accounts from the mischievous malefactors, he deleted the offensive material, rather than preserving the evidence for the police...

...So for right now, I'm just assuming that Anthony Weiner is every bit as honest in his personal life as he is in his professional life, every bit as straight and true in his personal dealings as in his political posturings.

Every. Single. Bit.

Let me give the Magic 8-Ball of Plausibility a shake:

REALLY?! REALLY!? ARE YOU SERIOUS??!!

Update IV: The Complete #Weinergate Timeline.

Exhibit A: Food-Stamp Fraud

Via the always-entertaining Curmudgeonly & Skeptical comes more evidence that every one of the Democrats' budget-busting social-engineering programs are failures, through and through.

Consider: at least ten cents of every dollar government spends on Medicare and Medicaid is fraudulent, according to experts that put the total amount of criminal waste at over $100 billion.

Since Barack Obama took office, roughly 12 million additional people have begun using food-stamps. And since Democrats took control of Congress in January 2007, almost 20 million people have joined the rolls of food-stamp recipients.

15 out of every 100 people living in the U.S. are now receiving food-stamps.

And a huge percentage of these people are using them for fraudulent purposes. Worse yet, the unfettered giveaway of these chits leads to all sorts of unintended consequences: more single-parent families and more violent crime in inner cities, to name just two.

It's time to end the Democrats' failed "War on Poverty" once and for all.
