QOTD: "Senior White House advisor David Plouffe predicted Sunday that Republicans will come to realize they made a big mistake by constantly calling the president’s sweeping healthcare reform law “ObamaCare.”

“I am convinced that at the end of this decade, Republicans are going to regret turning this into ‘ObamaCare,’” he said on Fox News Sunday.

The remarks come two days after Obama’s reelection campaign similarly embraced the term that conservatives have used to bash the healthcare statute that Democrats passed in 2010." --The Hill

No wonder Obamacare forces insurers to cover "children" up to age 26: unemployment for 18-24 year olds is 46%

If we get a couple more years of Obamanomics, I see Kathleen Sebelius requiring health insurers to cover "children" up to age 45.

A month ago, Zero Hedge readers were stunned to learn that unemployment among Europe's young adults has exploded as a result of the European financial crisis, and peaking anywhere between 46% in the case of Greece all they way to 51% for Spain...

Which makes us wonder what the reaction will be to the discovery that when it comes to young adults 18-24) in the US, the employment rate is just barely above half, or 54%, which just happens to be the lowest in 64 years, and 7% worse than when Obama took office promising a whole lot of change 3 years ago.

Oh, and I forgot the main point of the Zero Hedge article, which wasn't unemployment.

Fitch discloses something rather troubling, namely that of the $1 trillion + in student debt outstanding, "as many as 27% of all student loan borrowers are more than 30 days past due." In other words at least $270 billion in student loans are no longer current. That this is happening with interest rates at record lows is quite stunning and a loud wake up call that it is not rates that determine affordability and sustainability: it is general economic conditions, deplorable as they may be, which have made the popping of the student loan bubble inevitable. It also means that if the rise in interest rate continues, then the student loan bubble will pop that much faster, and bring another $1 trillion in unintended consequences on the shoulders of the US taxpayer who once again will be left footing the bill.

Oh, and kids: you know better than anyone that student loans can't be discharged. Bankruptcy won't do it. Maybe death will.

And, of all age groups, "this is the one that has actually seen its wages drop the most under the Obama administration."

Trayvon, Zimmerman and the President: Someone behaved stupidly

When it comes to cynical politicians, we appear to have one of the all-time best in our current president.

President Obama, during a brief Rose Garden press conference meant to announce his nominee for World Bank president, ventured into the high-intensity controversy over the unarmed black teenager fatally shot in Florida -- calling the case a "tragedy" and saying if he had a son, "he'd look like Trayvon." ... The death of Trayvon Martin, 17, is now under investigation by the Justice Department and FBI... Obama, asked about the case Friday, noted that he doesn't want to interfere with the probe being led by his attorney general, Eric Holder. But he made clear that he empathizes deeply with the parents in the case...

What this article won't tell you is that Obama never takes extraneous questions from the press after making a statement. But in this case, he paused momentarily at the end of the briefing, leaving time for a pre-planned question to be asked.

Leave it to the peerless iOwnTheWorld to pwn this crass setup of a question and answer.

The press also failed to mention that the initial television reports interviewed a witness who stated that Trayvon was on top of Zimmerman pummeling him.

The witness also said that as Zimmerman was being attacked by Trayvon Martin, he was screaming for help.

The neighborhood where Zimmerman was helping to patrol as part of a local watch program had suffered eleven (11) break-ins in recent weeks.

Like the 2009 incident in Cambridge -- in which the president humiliated himself by claiming that police "acted stupidly" before he had learned anything about the case -- we have another example of stupid behavior.

We have someone in a position of great power, who is willing to foment civil unrest without the benefit of any of the facts related to the incident.

But November is coming.

QOTD: "A teacher asks Jon McNaughton, "Why are you just painting propaganda?

McNaughton answers: Artists have always used their skills to communicate to the world what they believe. To think that we live in a country without significant peril is to not see the forest for the trees. What is happening in America is bigger than any party. As a teacher you are in a precarious position. You must open the eyes of your students, but conservatism is often frowned on in the public schools. "Propaganda" is a word used to describe media used by Fascist and Communistic regimes to influence the people. I am a single individual who is using his First Amendment rights to speak out against a president and an administration which is harming our country. I see real propaganda every day from the mainstream media as we are told what to think about government and society." --Artist Jon McNaughton, American Digest

Open Letter to Obama Shlockumentary Maker Davis Guggenheim

Davis 'Leni Riefenstahl' Guggenheim is the director of the Barack Obama campaign film 'The Road We've Traveled'. Interviewed a couple of weeks ago by Piers Morgan, Leni could not find a single fault with President Obama.

Davis Guggenheim: "Well, I mean the negative for me was, there were too many accomplishments. I had 17 minutes to put them all in there."
Piers Morgan: "Oh, come off it! You can't say that with a straight face. Come on."

Davis Guggenheim: "I'm looking at you right now with a straight face."

Piers Morgan: "The only negativity about Barack Obama is there are too many positives?"

Davis Guggenheim: "That was the negative -- excuse me, that was the negative for me."

As a public service, I have created the following movie-related poster -- an adaptation of Pee Wee's Tiny Adventure (also directed by Guggenheim, I hear) that outlines just a couple of Obama's flaws.

Perhaps Leni will consider including a few of President Obama's Historic Firsts in his next hagiography of Dear Leader.

If you've been waiting for Obama Nail Polish™, I have only two words for you. You're welcome.

They're real. And they're spectacular.

No, really.

[T]he Obama campaign is again trying to inspire the youth vote in a way that goes beyond the same old buttons, lapel pins, and posters. In fact, we recently heard that the POTUS has teamed up with cosmetics company Le Métier De Beauté to create a set of three mini nail polishes — in patriotic red, white, and blue, of course — plus a simple black carrying case, all emblazoned with the horizon symbol from 2008.

I get the impression that the Axelrod Obama campaign would sell tiny urn necklaces with Stanley Ann Dunham's ashes in them if they thought they could raise six figures.

Top 15 Signs at the #RallyForReligiousFreedom You'll Never See in Legacy Media

Crowds across the United States -- from San Diego to Washington, D.C. -- participated in the Rally For Religious Freedom.

In San Diego, one of the more impressive displays included...

...an "Impeach Obama -- Lawless Prez" sign dragged behind an airplane over San Diego.

The crowd roared.

Shhh... no one tell Sandra Fluke (pronounced "Fluck").

Uh oh, this must be a religious extremist. Someone tell Homeland Security.

Oh no: college students who oppose Obamacare. Say it ain't so!

Yes, all ages, races, creeds and colors participated in these rallies. Because religious freedom doesn't discriminate. But Obamacare does.

Even the White House saw protesters.

Curious how we didn't hear about any of these rallies in legacy media.

Nor see any of these signs.

Maybe they're hoping we'll go away. Along with the Constitution.

Fat chance.

Even kids know better.

It's time to Stand Up For Religious Freedom.

Global Warming Comics -- The Fraudulent And The Immoral

One of the great warriors against the United Nations' Global Warming Scam is Christopher Lord Monckton. Lord Monckton is touring the United States giving presentations to a variety of interested parties.

On Wednesday, he presented to the California State Assembly to describe the extent of the climate fraud and its sheer immorality, representing nothing less than a war against the world's poorest people.

The following text is Monckton's, which I've left outside of the normal "block quote" in order to format the presentation.

Two-thirds of the warming predicted by the IPCC’s (non-peer-reviewed) models is supposed to arise from temperature feedbacks. None of these feedbacks can be measured. There is no consensus about how big they are. There are powerful scientific reasons to suspect the IPCC has very greatly overstated them...

The principal conclusions of each of the four IPCC Assessment Reports are questionable:

2007: The IPCC twice concludes that the rate of warming is speeding up and we are to blame. But it uses a false statistical technique to reach its conclusion.
2001: The IPCC concludes that today’s temperatures are warmer than in 1300 years. How it reached this conclusion is under criminal investigation.
1995: The scientists had concluded that no discernible human effect on climate could be found. Just one man rewrote the report to say the opposite.
1990: The IPCC predicted rapid warming. A generation has passed and the predicted warming has not happened...

...This and many other [of the IPCC's] predictions are overblown:

• Global temperature is rising more slowly than IPCC’s least estimate;
• Sea level has been rising for eight years at just 1.3 inches/century;
• Ocean heat content has barely risen in 6 years;
• Hurricanes and tropical cyclones are quieter than for 30 years;
• Global sea-ice extent has changed little in 30 years;
• Methane concentration is up just 20 parts per billion since 2000;
• The tropical hot-spot the IPCC predicts as our footprint is absent;
• Outgoing radiation is escaping to space much as usual.

California’s carbon tax, with other statewide measures to curb CO2 emissions, will cost $450 billion by 2020. Even if 25% of California’s emissions are abated by 2020, just 0.4% of global emissions will have been abated; CO2 concentration by 2020, instead of the business-as-usual 413 parts per million by volume the IPCC predicts, will be 412.9 ppmv; just one-thousandth of a Fahrenheit degree of warming will be abated; the cost of abating the 0.3 F° warming the IPCC predicts to 2020 by measures as cost-(in)effective as California’s policies would be $180 trillion, or $25,500 per head of global population, or a third of global GDP over the period; and the cost of preventing the 6 F° warming the IPCC predicts by 2100 would be $2700 trillion, or more than 10 times the maximum 3%-of-GDP cost of climate-related damage arising from not mitigating this predicted 21st-century warming at all.

Environmental over-regulation, cap-and-tax, “renewable”-energy mandates, and a 40-year ban on most offshore drilling are crippling California. The Monterey Shale holds 15 billion barrels of oil, yet over-regulation has cut production by more than a third to just 200 million barrels a year. Now 11% are jobless in California, second only to Nevada in the US (50% are jobless in construction); the 2012/13 State deficit is $6 billion; unfunded pension liabilities are $250 billion; 50,000 rich Californians (one-third of them) fled in 2007-2009, taking their businesses and jobs with them: twice as many firms fled the once-Golden State in 2011 as in 2010; Intel says it will never build another plant here; Globalstar, Trizetto, and eEye fled in just one month; Boeing, Toyota, Apple, Facebook, and DirecTV have all fled. The wagons are heading East.

The bottom line: No policy to abate global warming by taxing, trading, regulating, reducing, or replacing greenhouse-gas emissions will prove cost-effective solely on grounds of the welfare benefit from climate mitigation. CO2 mitigation strategies that are inexpensive enough to be affordable will be ineffective; strategies costly enough to be effective will be unaffordable. Focused adaptation to any adverse consequences of any warming that may occur is many times more cost-effective. Since the premium greatly exceeds the cost of the risk, don’t insure. Every red cent spent now on trying to stop global warming is a red cent wasted. Don’t mitigate: sit back, enjoy the sunshine, and adapt only if and when and to the extent necessary. That, however unfashionable, is the economically prudent and scientifically sensible course.

QOTD: "...so Media Matters — that tree house of trolls who continue to disappoint their parents — are spending $100,000 on ads to unseat Rush Limbaugh. Remember, Rush doesn’t hold an office — he hosts a radio show. So it’s a campaign against someone simply because he hurts their feelings. Now, to parrot my acting coach, what’s the motivation? Is it really about decency? No, this is simply manufactured outrage masquerading as concern. Remember, Rush already apologized, but that didn’t matter because Media Matters really wants annihilation. After all, Rush excels at exposing tools like them. So they want his scalp.

If they want a war, why won’t the right give them one? Why so timid all the time? If advertisers are bowing down to senior fellows toiling away in soiled underpants, shouldn’t Rush’s listeners fight back? I’d also say let’s make Media Matters’ life miserable but they’re already there. It’s got to be rough when your mom asks, ‘David, why don’t you get a job?’ And David says, ‘I work at Media Matters.’ And then mom quietly weeps.” --Greg Gutfeld

Remember, it's NOT a death panel: it's just a 15-member board of central planners required to cut $500 billion from Medicare

I mean, it can't be a "death panel", right? It's just a small group of really, really, super-smart people that has to find $500 billion in savings from Medicare, while the Baby Boomers start retiring.

Created in the 2010 health care law, this powerful, 15-member government board is charged with implementing $500 billion in Medicare cuts over the coming decade. The resultant savings will be used to help pay for President Obama’s new health care entitlement, which the Congressional Budget Office recently said will cost significantly more than originally projected.

...[It] may not be a “death panel,” but it is a legal and moral monstrosity. Here, in my opinion, are its “seven deadliest sins.”

1. It will hurt patients. IPAB’s job is to find savings, but it’s barred from implementing or even proposing reforms that would change how the massive Medicare program works. Instead, it’s been given a single tool, a chainsaw. It can only cut reimbursements for doctors and hospitals. If cuts of this sort are allowed to take effect, it will inevitably lead to rationing and care-denials, because Medicare reimbursement rates are already low and cutting them further will force many providers to stop accepting Medicare patients. This could be especially bad for rural and disabled patients.

2. It will hurt doctors and hospitals. The cuts will, in effect, force health care providers to choose between seeing fewer Medicare patients and going bankrupt. Some providers will do both. Right after ObamaCare passed, the top numbers-cruncher at Medicare estimated that IPAB’s 10-year cuts will put 15 percent of America’s hospitals out of business

3. It’s undemocratic. The panel’s decisions carry the force of law, unless two-thirds of each house of Congress votes to stop them—a high bar—and are not permitted to be reviewed by any court.

4. It’s unaccountable. IPAB is exempt from the “sunshine” laws that apply to virtually every other board and commission. It doesn’t have to hold public meetings, consider public input on its proposals, or even make transcripts of its deliberations publicly available. Meanwhile, it “may accept, use, and dispose of gifts or donations of services or property,” providing a not-so-subtle invitation to health-industry lobbyists to lavish board members with favors and goodies in hopes of influencing their decisions.

5. It’s corruption-prone. [It encourages] lobbyists to lavish board members with favors and goodies in hopes of influencing their decisions.

6. Its budget is shielded from congressional scrutiny. IPAB’s annual operating budget is exempt from annual congressional budgetary review like other agencies. Instead, its funding is on auto-pilot, drawn directly out of the Medicare trust funds. Incidentally, a job at IPAB is nice work, if you can get it. Salaries start at $165,300 for the board members, $179,700 for the chairman, and up to $145,700 per employee—plus travel and expenses.

7. It’s unconstitutional. IPAB is an “unconstitutional trifecta”: an executive agency wielding legislative power that's immune to judicial oversight. In effect, it is the sole judge of the laws that it creates and executes. Such an accumulation of powers would have horrified our Founding Fathers, who believed, as Madison put it in "Federalist 47," that “The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands ... may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.”

The IPAB is tyranny writ large.

If you think it's not a death panel, I urge you to consider what $500 billion in cuts will mean to the Baby Boomer generation.

The Definition of Stupid

Via The Morning Spew:

How stupid are liberals? Apparently, this stupid. From BarackObama.com:

In other words, no matter how many broken promises these temporary politicians like Obama make...

• The Stimulus will keep unemployment under 8 percent
• If you like your health care plan you can keep your health care plan
• We'll create millions of shovel-ready jobs
• We'll create millions of green jobs
• Opening up drilling on federal lands won't increase the supply of oil
• The EPA isn't going too far in fining people $37,000 a day for landscaping their own property
• The average family's health care bill will go down $2,500 a year
• Social Security and Medicare don't need to be fixed
• Mercury-filled light-bulbs are better for the environment than incandescents
• Etc.

...You're expected to believe that this time, with just a bit more of your money, a bit more deficit spending, that millions of overpaid, pencil-pushing bureaucrats in Washington will be able to create more efficient services than the free market.

Only a liberal -- and a really, really dim liberal at that -- could believe this crap.

Update: The Bad offers this enhanced and corrected version:

Tweet o' the Day: Hockeystick

Twitchy is tracking President Obama's new hashtag -- #ILikeObamacare -- which, curiously, was hijacked by conservatives.

One of the best responses:

This is what we mean when we say that "liberalism is the philosophy of the stupid."

Democrats under President Lyndon Baines Johnson implemented Medicare in 1964. Its costs have skyrocketed far beyond any of the highest estimates. It is headed for collapse.

And what do Democrats do? Not only do they demagogue and demonize men like Paul Ryan, who are earnestly trying to save these entitlement programs, but they also create new, even bigger entitlement programs that are guaranteed to bankrupt the country.

It can't be ignorance. It must be intentional.

It appears the media forgot to mention that Barack Obama and terrorist Bill Ayers shared an office for... three years #VetThePrez

Yesterday I highlighted a little-remembered NPR report from 2000 in which Barack Obama, then running for Congress, bragged about his experience running the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC). The CAC, a multi-million dollar left-wing foundation was controlled by domestic terrorist and accused cop-killer Bill Ayers.

Ayers hired Barack Obama as Chairman of the Board of the CAC, even though he had no experience whatsoever. Ayers, who supposedly didn't have any relationship with Obama, put the younger man in charge of roughly $110 million and thereby jump-started his career.

And no one in legacy media ever asked why.

Obama, asked about his relationship with Ayers during a 2008 debate, pooh-poohed any ties, stating that he was "just a guy from the neighborhood."

That same year, however, Verum Serum uncovered some fascinating information regarding the relationship between the two men. They had shared an office for three years.

This Chicago Annenberg Challenge website from 2002 shows the total amount of funds given to Bill Ayers’ Small Schools Workshop from 1995 to 2001. The amount is not the $175K I had reported earlier. According to this page, the total given under Barack Obama’s direct supervision was $1,056,162. Adding that amount to the money given by the Joyce Foundation and Woods Fund during Obama’s tenure brings the grand total to $1,968,718. Just shy of two million dollars! That’s a lot of scratch, to put it bluntly. And don’t forget, this doesn’t count the 3/4 million that went to John Ayers during the same time period...

Ayers’ Small Schools Workshop, the one Obama directed all that money too is located at 115 S. Sangamon Street, Chicago, Illinois 60607...

...In 1998, the address for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, where Obama presumably worked, was 115 S. Sangamon Street, Chicago, Illinios 60607. Here’s a copy of their 1998 tax return with that address:..

And according to this memo dated 1996, Small Schools Workshop was also on the 3rd floor...

So while the media gave Joe the Plumber a colonoscopy and The New York Times published the fictional sexual escapades of John McCain, Barack Obama apparently maintained a close working relationship with the leader of a band of cop-killers.

Just a guy in the neighborhood? We already knew Barack Obama lied about that, but has anyone ever mentioned that the two men were basically living together? Furthermore, they were co-located with Mike Klonsky, a radical communist who (like Ayers) seeks the destruction of the United States government.

In the words of Andrew Breitbart, this time we're going to vet him.

Spread the word.

QOTD: "...the decision employers face under ObamaCare is straightforward: Do they pay $20,000 per year for family coverage, or do they pay the $2,000 penalty to the government?

It is not as if dropping health coverage will expose their employees to financial risk. They will thereby make employees eligible for huge subsidies in the health-care exchanges—$10,000 if their household income is $64,000 per year. In a competitive environment, ObamaCare provides the incentive for employers to drop coverage.

According to the CBO, 154 million Americans are covered under employer-sponsored plans. What would be the cost to taxpayers if 50% of those individuals lost their coverage and became eligible for subsidies?" --Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI)

Keystone Commanda-In-Chief: President Obama's Hilarious Pipeline Sham

Anyone who buys into President Obama's latest, spastic response to high gas prices is exceedingly dim. Or Ezra Klein.

The president stages a photo-op in Oklahoma to take credit for the portion of the Keystone XL pipeline that doesn't need his approval and for oil production on private and state lands beyond his jurisdiction...

...Obama is scheduled to appear in Cushing, Okla., known as the pipeline capital of the world, to take credit for the southern half of the Keystone XL pipeline, a project announced weeks ago by TransCanada, the Keystone builder.

It's the section that doesn't need presidential or State Department approval since it does not cross an international boundary...

...The part that does require State Department approval and a presidential blessing, and which holds as much as 24 billion barrels of oil, runs from the rich oil sands of Alberta, past the booming oil fields of the Bakken shale formation in North Dakota and down to Cushing. It is the portion Obama killed in January.

In short, Obama is into optics while he continues to destroy America's energy infrastructure.

And he could free up gulf oil production in, oh, about three minutes if he chose to do so.

But he won't. He wants to "fundamentally transform" America by turning it into a third world country. Don't believe me. Believe his own statements, from the very inception of his career.

Not suitable for concealed carry. Unless you're Fat Bastard or Michael Moore. But I repeat myself.

Daddy like:

With the Arsenal Firearms Double Barrel Pistol ($TBA), you can fire two bullets with a single hand...

Built in part to commemorate the Colt 1911-A1, this new pistol — given the model number AF2011-A1 — shoots two .45 caliber rounds at a time, accurately, and spaced incredibly close — at 15 yards, both rounds will fit into an orange — yet still manages to use a number of interchangeable internal parts, which can be swapped with standard 1911 replacement parts. Available in silver or black finishes.

Consider this the handgun equivalent of the Ultimate Zombie Apocalypse Survival Shotgun.

Obama in 2008: Bill Ayers? Never Heard of Him. Obama in 2000: Dude Launched My Career! #VetThePrez

In 2008, in one of the only interviews Barack Obama ever granted to an independent -- as opposed to obsequious -- member of the media, Bill O'Reilly queried the candidate regarding his affiliation with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.

BARACK OBAMA: ...on this Ayers thing, which you've been hyping, Bill.

O'REILLY: Not that much.

BARACK OBAMA: This guy did something despicable forty years ago.

O'REILLY: Despicable last week. He said he didn't do enough bombing. That's last week.

BARACK OBAMA: Here's a guy that does something despicable when I'm eight years old. Alright? I come to Chicago. He's working with Mayor Richard Daley, not known to be a radical. So, he and I know each other as a consequence of work he's doing on education. That is not an endorsement of his views ... This guy is not part of my campaign, he's not some adviser of mine.

But on local television in 2000, Obama told a very different story.

Interviewer: One of the criticisms that arises in connection with your candidacy is you simply haven't been in the Senate very long, the State Senate. You have a limited track record in terms of time, what is your argument based on the one term that you've served so far? What makes you prepared for the Congress?

Obama: Well, I'm in my second term, but it's true that certainly both Senator Trotter and Congressman Rush have been in elected office longer than I have. I can't deny that. I would argue, though, that my experience previous to elected office equips me for the job. I have a background as an attorney, I've represented affordable housing organizations to build affordable housing, something that's a major issue in the district.

I've chaired major philanthropic efforts in the city like the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, that gave fifty million dollars to prompt school reform efforts throughout the city.

Yet this important qualification in Barack Obama's career has been utterly and completely omitted from the 'official biography' on his website.

In 1995 Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn -- who advocate the overthrow of the U.S government to this very day -- launched Barack Obama's career by hosting a "Meet the Candidate" event in their home.

Ayers, who controlled the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), then hired Barack Obama as Chairman of the Board of the CAC, even though he had no experience other than as a "community organizer."

Ayers gave a completely unqualified Obama a job in which he administered $50 million (and another $60 or more million in matching funds). This single act helped jump-start Obama's political career, as evidenced by the interview. The question no one is asking: why?

Ayers and Obama also served together on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago. Among those who received funds from the pair were the Arab-American Action Network, founded by a member of the PLO, and ACORN, a group infamous for vote fraud and subsequently exposed as a criminal operation by Andrew Breitbart and James O'Keefe.

Reverend Meeks, Father Pfleger, Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Trinity United Church all received funds from Ayers and Obama.

In return, the mega-churches are alleged to have delivered thousands of votes to Obama.

Summary

While the New York Times crack investigative staff busily pursued Sarah Palin's emails, they completely missed the biggest story of the 2008 election cycle.

Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn are unrepentent terrorists who even today advocate communism and the overthrow of the United States government. They launched and orchesterated Barack Obama's career, providing him with the qualifications necessary to run for major political office.

Repeat: communists and terrorists launched Obama's career. And the fossils at the Times, who are rapidly sinking into financial quicksand, couldn't bother to report the story.

Update: An important note concerning the Chicago television interview from 2000. NPR had this transcript on its site at one point (via Google), but it has since been expunged! Since NPR doesn't permit caching, the search engines (and the Wayback Archive) don't appear to have copies. I've reproduced the transcript myself, so any errors are my own.

* In April 2008, Ayers wrote:

Capitalism played its role historically and is exhausted as a force for progress: built on exploitation, theft, conquest, war, and racism, capitalism and imperialism must be defeated and a world revolution... must win.

In 2006, Ayers described his life underground while he operated as a terrorist. It doesn't sound too different from his current patter.

In some ways life underground was [in some] ways... extraordinary because we felt that our lives had a serious purpose that we were conscious of and earnest about every day: to end a war and overthrow a system—imperialism—that made war after war inevitable, and to upend centuries of racial oppression and white supremacy creating a society based on equality, justice, and love.

He forgot the "by killing cops" part.

Democrats Give Americans the Gift That Keeps On Taking: U.S. Bankruptcy Likely In 30 Years (or Less)

The laws of mathematics are certain and irrefutable: a few more years of President Obama's trillion-dollar deficits will result in a fiscal apocalypse as surely as night follows day.

This new fiscal study—from Richard W. Evans and Kerk Phillips of Brigham Young University and Laurence Kotlikoff of Boston University—is worrisome, to say the least:

Most developed countries appear to be running unsustainable social policies. In the U.S., federal liabilities (off icial debt plus the present value of projected non-interest expenditures) exceed federal assets (the present value of projected taxes) by $211 trillion or 14 times GDP. Closing this fiscal gap requires an immediate and permanent 64 percent hike in all federal taxes. … Our simulations, calibrated to the U.S. economy, produce an average duration to game over of about one century, with a 35 percent chance of reaching the fi scal limit in about 30 years. … When our economy reaches game over, the government is forced to default on its promised payment to the contemporaneous elderly.

Is $211 trillion a legit number?

AEI’s Andrew Biggs thinks it is:

Generational accounting is a well-established methodology to measure the burden of government on specific generations. A generational account for any given generation measures the generation’s remaining lifetime net tax bill as a present value—what the generation will pay net of what it will receive, all valued as of today. This amount has to cover the government’s official debt plus the present value of all future government purchases of goods and services (discretionary spending). If it doesn’t, the difference that’s not covered is called the fiscal gap.

You don’t like Paul Ryan’s Path to Prosperity (and solvency), fine. Come up with something better. But plan beats no plan.

George W. Bush was a big spender, to be sure, but no one in world history has spent as much borrowed money as Barack Obama -- along with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid -- to push America perilously close to collapse.

That's quite a gift that Democrats and RINOs are bequeathing to the next generation.

It's the gift that keeps on taking. Taking from generation after generation, leaving America as close to a third-world country as one could imagine.
