You may have seen the following Romney "secrets" published by the Obama campaign's ill-named "Truth Team":
Never mind that the economy languishes as the President seemingly spends all of his time on on campaigning, demagoguery, and dividing Americans by race, income, religion and industry.
Of more material concern for independents and thoughtful Democrats are the following Truth Team secrets:
Yoohoo, TruthTeam: perhaps you could research these real secrets and let the American people know the real story of President Buck McPasser.

Oh, my: the most cynical Obama 2012 appeal for cash yet [Updated!]
We thought we'd seen the most cynical and desperate plea for cash by the Obama campaign when they asked engaged couples to forego wedding gifts in lieu of donations to... President Blamey McSandtrap.

It turns out that just when you thought the Obama campaign had hit bottom, they start digging a new sub-basement. Check out the most egregious appeal for money yet:
Update: Oh, my:

Defend Allen West against George Soros
Unbelievable:
George F-ing Soros? Are you f-ing kidding me?
I just sent in $50 to the West campaign. If you have a few spare bucks, please consider helping true Constitutional conservatives like Allen West and Ted Cruz.
We need these men in Congress.
We need patriots to defend our Constitution and our country. The time, my friends, grows short to save this magnificent land from bankruptcy and ruin.
So do what you can.
CREDO SuperPAC, a radical group bankrolled by progressive billionaire George Soros, has just launched a massive campaign targeting Rep. Allen West and raising unlimited sums of money to take him out this election. Reports indicate Soros has personally pledged $5 million to beat Rep. West.

Forward: Americans working six months to pay for the cost of government... only six more months to go, comrades!
Funny, you don't look Argentinian:
Only five-and-a-half months until we get to Democrat Utopia! And we'll know precisely when we've achieved it: it's the moment when you and I are working side-by-side in the rice paddies, receiving exactly the same health care benefits... and there's zero income inequality.

This year, Americans have to work until July 15 to pay for the burden of government, more than six months..."Cost of Government Day is the date of the calendar year on which the average American worker has earned enough gross income to pay off his or her share of the spending and regulatory burden imposed by government at the federal, state and local levels," reads the report [PDF].
The report, Cost of Government Day, shows that Americans will work 88 days to pay for federal spending; 40 days for state and local spending; and 69 days for total regulatory costs.
"From a different perspective, the cost of government makes up 54.0 percent of annual gross domestic product (GDP)," reads the report. "What's more, the largest tax hike in the nation's history is scheduled to take place at the end of 2012 unless Congress acts to protect taxpayers. If this tax increase is allowed to hit, COGD [Cost of Government Day] could permanently be pushed back into August and beyond."

The "Demographic Time Bomb" Charts
That's what Mike Shedlock calls these beauts:
And if anyone reading this thinks these paths are sustainable, you must be mentally impaired (for which I'm truly sorry). Or a misguided Democrat.
Perhaps the latter is treatable through regular exposure to Mark Levin podcasts. Perhaps.
Here is a chart from reader Tim Wallace showing social security and disability stats for June of 2012 compared to June in prior years.
Chart shows those receiving benefits. Those not in the labor force claiming a disability is much higher.
...Here is one final chart to ponder... Social Security Benefits in Dollars
As of May 2012, the outlays are $756.9 billion annualized. Fewer worker relatively speaking, support more and more recipients with exponentially growing payments. This is supposed to work?

Headline o' the Month
Navin alerts us to this hilarious headline:
And he adds:
Don't worry, Navin: vintage media is today operating under the same business model that door-to-door encyclopedia salesmen employed in 1995.
Update: Ricochet:
And he adds:
So let me see if I understand the liberal logic.
If you are a white candidate for president and don't show up at the NAACP meeting, it is because you are a racist.
If you show up at the NAACP meeting and get booed for some reason, you are a racist.
So, the only way for a white candidate for president not to be a racist is to show up at an NAACP meeting, refuse to speak, and hand out $100 bills, otherwise risk being booed and therefore a de facto finding that you are a racist.
Why doesn't the liberal media just stipulate that all white Republicans are racist? Or would that be racist?
Don't worry, Navin: vintage media is today operating under the same business model that door-to-door encyclopedia salesmen employed in 1995.
Update: Ricochet:
So, to recap: Mitt Romney wanted to get booed by the NAACP so that he could prove himself to a bunch of racists, so he flew in his own black people to show their support by heckling him, which both proved that he was both loved and unloved by African Americans and yet, somehow, this was designed to prove that he hates minorities.

QOTD: "[T]he government is not adept at micromanaging how health care should be delivered to patients. When the government is given this much authority and discretion, it does not result in higher-quality care for patients. Rather, it leads to price controls and one-size-fits-all regulations that misallocate resources and lead to access problems. It will only be a matter of time before the federal government uses its new powers to impose even more top-down cost controls on the health system, to the detriment of the quality of American health care." --James Capretta

A must-read: What happens when the dollar dies?
In Investment News, the brilliant Peter Schiff describes the real fiscal cliff facing Americans.
And what happens when our colossal debts truly become unmanageable? Chris Martenson provides the sobering lessons from one such episode that occurred less than a century ago in "Our Money Is Dying."
What can you do to protect yourself? I'm no expert, but according to the real financial gurus like Mike Shedlock, investing a portion of your assets in gold could help protect your portfolio. Shedlock recommends GoldMoney to do so.
I would just recommend preparing. Because annual trillion-dollar deficits are certain to end in disaster, unless we return this country to Constitutional conservatism.
The current national debt is about $16 trillion (this is just the funded portion...the unfunded liabilities of the Treasury are much, much larger). The only reason the United States is able to service this staggering level of debt is that the currently low interest rate on government debt (now below 2 per cent) keeps debt service payments to a relatively manageable $300 billion per year.
On the current trajectory the national debt will likely hit $20 trillion in a few years. If, by that time interest rates were to return to some semblance of historic normalcy, say 5 per cent, interest payments on the debt would then run $1 trillion per year. This sum could represent almost 40 per cent of total federal revenues in 2012!
In addition to making the debt service unmanageable, higher rates would depress economic activity, thereby slowing tax collection and requiring increased government spending. This would increase the budget deficits further, putting even more upward pressure on interest rates. Higher mortgage rates and increased unemployment will put renewed downward pressure on home prices, perhaps leading to another large wave of foreclosures. My guess is that losses on government insured mortgages alone could add several hundred billion more to annual budget deficits. When all of these factors are taken into account, I believe that annual budget deficits could quickly approach, and exceed $3 trillion. All this could be in the cards if interest rates were to approach a modest five per cent.
If the sheer enormity of the red ink were to finally worry our creditors, five per cent interest rates could quickly rise to ten. At those rates, the annual cost to pay the interest on the national debt could equal all federal tax revenues combined. If that occurs we will have to either slash federal spending across the board (including cuts to politically sensitive entitlements), raise taxes significantly on the poor and middle class (as well as the rich), default on the debt, or hit everyone with the sustained impact of high inflation. Now that's a real fiscal cliff!
By foolishly borrowing so heavily when interest rates are low our government is driving us toward this cliff with its eyes firmly glued to the rear view mirror. For years I have warned that a financial crisis would be triggered by the popping of the real estate bubble. My warnings were routinely ignored based on the near universal assumption that real estate prices would never fall. My warnings about the real fiscal cliff are also being ignored because of a similarly false premise that interest rates can never rise. However, if history can be a guide, we should view the current period of ultra low rates as the exception rather than the rule.
And what happens when our colossal debts truly become unmanageable? Chris Martenson provides the sobering lessons from one such episode that occurred less than a century ago in "Our Money Is Dying."
In the book When Money Dies by Adam Fergusson, which details Weimar Germany's inflation over the period from 1918 to 1923, the most riveting parts for me were the first-hand accounts from the people caught in the storm.
So many people left their wealth in the system only to watch it get eroded and utterly destroyed over time. The reasons were many: patriotism, inertia, disbelief, and denial cruelly fed by hope every time prices moderated or even retreated momentarily.
The simple observation is that many people had a blind belief in the money system. They lost their wealth because they were unable or unwilling to allow reality to challenge their beliefs. It's not that there weren't numerous warning signs to heed -- in fact, they could be seen everywhere -- but most willfully ignored them.
Most mysterious is the fact that in Austria and Germany, where the inflation struck most severely, there were numerous borders and currencies into which people could have dodged to protect their wealth. That is, protecting one's wealth was a relatively straightforward and simple manner. And yet…it did not happen.
Perfect: Obama adviser outsourced hundreds of jobs to India last year
Curious: didn't see any stories on this outrage on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, MSNBC or read about it in The New York Times-Democrat or The Washington Post-Democrat:
AsJim Geraghty observes, Mitt Romney has outsourced a grand total of zero jobs, while our beloved President Zippy McStatist has spent about $29 billion of your money outsourcing. At least.
Oh, and vintage media hacks: don't bother picking up this story and running with it. We've got it handled, thanks.
About a year ago, Xerox told some 600 employees, many of them engineers, that their jobs were being transferred to an India-based IT services firm.
How has that worked out? Neither company is disclosing detail about what's been going on, but information is leaking out about some layoffs.
The move by Xerox goes to the heart of the outsourcing debate between President Barack Obama and the presumptive Republican nominee, Mitt Romney.
It involves outsourcing product engineering employees, a skill set often linked to the nation's innovation capacity, to an offshore company. Will Xerox's moves result in a net gain or net loss of jobs? The answers may still be in the future, but one of the people involved has the president's ear.
Xerox's CEO, Ursula Burns, is playing a prominent advisory role in the Obama administration as the vice chair of the President's Export Council as well serving on the President's Jobs Council.

"Dude, how do you find all of these stories?"
That's the question I get asked from time to time.
Fact is, I use BadBlue.com. It mines Twitter, 24 by 7, to see which headlines are getting the most buzz.
There are now three BadBlue news feeds: one for politics (BadBlue.com/News), one for technology (BadBlue.com/Tech), and one for finance (BadBlue.com/Money).
Check 'em out if you get a chance. They seem to be one of the fastest ways to keep up with breaking news.

Great news: Chevy Volt almost gets its owner -- and I quote -- "seriously injured (or killed)"
Maybe the "green jobs" the president was planning on are related to Volt repairs. Or mortuary services.
It's so weird that central planning doesn't seem to be working out for GM's Volt product line. After all, it was so successful for the Soviet-era automotive classic known as the Volga.
Thanks anyhow, eco-tards, but I'll stick with my gas-guzzling internal combustion engine.
...This past Sunday marked 10 weeks that we've had the 2012 Chevy Volt. In that amount of time, it's been back to the dealership four times due to problems. One of the issues we were told was definitely fixed (a problem with the tire pressure monitor system) came right back two days after it was repaired. Another time the car simply would no longer charge, or rather, would start and stop charging very quickly, as if it was being plugged in and unplugged and plugged back in every few seconds... None of the trips were quick fixes either, requiring at least a few days before we'd have the car back.
These were all annoyances and inconveniences, though. It sucked having a new vehicle that we saw as the future and having it in for service three times over the course of the first few weeks, but we weren't in any danger. That changed with the latest issue that cropped up with the Volt.
I took a quick trip to the store, about a mile or so from Gear Live HQ, with no problem. On the drive back, things seemed fine as well. I stopped in a turn lane to wait for traffic to pass before I made my left across 2 lanes of highway traffic. Once it was good, I hit the gas to complete my turn... and the car stopped going mid-turn. The cars that were coming towards me slammed on their brakes once they realized that I was no longer in motion (if I had been, their speed wouldn't have been an issue.) Two cars narrowly avoided hitting me at 45-50 MPH, which would have resulted in injuries to me, and the drivers of the other vehicles. Unexpected high speed collisions are just bad all around. Thankfully, there was no contact. One driver was able to stop just a few feet from me, while the other swerved to the side to avoid hitting me.
This all happened without warning from the Volt. No check engine light or chime alerted me that anything was wrong. I continued to step on the gas, and the car would only go a maximum of 3 MPH. It would stall out, and start back again going a couple of miles per hour, but never more than 3 MPH. Because of this, it took me about 30 seconds to cross the two lanes that typically takes 2 seconds to do.
After that turn, my final destination was 3 blocks away with no stop signs or traffic, and it took minutes to get there. There's a slight incline--two small hills--and the Volt continued to stall, slide backwards down the hill, then move forward again at a snail's pace. The car was going to need it's fourth trip to the dealership to be serviced in the two months that we'd had it…but this time, the problems with the car put us directly in danger.
It's so weird that central planning doesn't seem to be working out for GM's Volt product line. After all, it was so successful for the Soviet-era automotive classic known as the Volga.
Thanks anyhow, eco-tards, but I'll stick with my gas-guzzling internal combustion engine.
Gee, libs, if health care's a right, then who's going to be delivering that "right" if 83 percent of doctors quit?
I love how liberals pretend that government can grant infinite "rights" to you that involve compelling others to deliver those "rights".
Except when they won't.
Oh. And it gets better.
So "healthcare is a right"? Well, who's going to deliver that health care service if 83 percent of doctors quit?
For you drones: that's a rhetorical question, which means you can't answer it.
Because you're drones.
Except when they won't.
83% Of Doctors Have Considered Quitting Thanks To Obamacare
Eighty-three percent of American physicians have considered leaving their practices over President Barack Obama’s health care reform law, according to a survey released by the Doctor Patient Medical Association.
The DPMA, a non-partisan association of doctors and patients, surveyed a random selection of 699 doctors nationwide. The survey found that the majority have thought about bailing out of their careers over the legislation, which was upheld last month by the Supreme Court.
Even if doctors do not quit their jobs over the ruling, America will face a shortage of at least 90,000 doctors by 2020.
Oh. And it gets better.
The DPMA found that many doctors do not believe the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will lead to better access to medical care for the majority of Americans, co-founder of the DPMA Kathryn Serkes told TheDC.
“Doctors clearly understand what Washington does not — that a piece of paper that says you are ‘covered’ by insurance or ‘enrolled’ in Medicare or Medicaid does not translate to actual medical care when doctors can’t afford to see patients at the lowball payments, and patients have to jump through government and insurance company bureaucratic hoops,” she said.
So "healthcare is a right"? Well, who's going to deliver that health care service if 83 percent of doctors quit?
For you drones: that's a rhetorical question, which means you can't answer it.
Because you're drones.
Postscript - Article 42 of the Soviet Constitution of 1936:
Article 42. Citizens of the USSR have the right to health protection.
This right is ensured by free, qualified medical care provided by state health institutions; by extension of the network of therapeutic and health-building institutions; by the development and improvement of safety and hygiene in industry; by carrying out broad prophylactic measures; by measures to improve the environment; by special care for the health of the rising generation, including prohibition of child labour, excluding the work done by children as part of the school curriculum; and by developing research to prevent and reduce the incidence of disease and ensure citizens a long and active life.

The Dissociative Press: No Longer in the News Business; Now Professionally Lying for Democrats
I'm not sure when the Associated Press (also known as the Dissociative Press, which is the term they prefer, I hear) decided to get out of the news business and into republishing Democrat National Committee press releases. But it's clear from the last couple of election cycles, that the transition occurred sometime before 2008.
Consider the latest lies promoted by the contemptible Eric Holder regarding voter ID:
Of course, the nitwits at the Dissociative Press echo the official DNC talking points almost word-for-word:
Let's ignore, for the sake of argument, that you can't board a plane, buy alcohol, receive a welfare check, or even attend Holder's speech at the NAACP without a photo ID. No, just ignore that for the moment. Is vote fraud really so rare that the AP repeats this lie like the parakeets they are?
Debunking the DNC talking points requires a lot of difficult research -- using a spanking-new tool called Google -- apparently unfamiliar to the nincompoops at the AP.
• 600,000 fraudulent voters nationwide: In 2008, a study by PJM estimated that nearly half of the 1.3 million voters registered by Acorn, the Democrat-linked criminal front group, were bogus.
• Washington Governor's Race: In 2004, Dino Rossi, the Republican candidate, won the state of Washington's governorship by a narrow margin. But that victory proved short-lived. Election officials: (a) discovered uncounted ballots weeks and months after the election; (b) counted votes from people without valid registrations; and (c) permitted "felons without voting rights, as well as a few dead people, to cast ballots". After the recounts, Rossi lost by a mere 133 votes.
• Thousands of fraudulent voter registrations discovered in Nevada: "[In 2009,] Nevada officials charged Acorn, its regional director and its Las Vegas field director with submitting thousands of fraudulent voter registration forms last year. Larry Lomax, the registrar of voters in Las Vegas, says he believes 48% of Acorn's forms "are clearly fraudulent." On Thursday, prosecutors in Pittsburgh, Pa., also charged seven Acorn employees with filing hundreds of fraudulent voter registrations before last year's general election."
• The Al Franken Senate "Victory": in 2008, After initially leading failed radio host Al Franken by 725 votes, incumbent Senator Norm Coleman of Minnesota ended up losing the race after a series of bizarre recounts. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that "the state Canvassing Board approved the use of Election Day results for 133 Minneapolis ballots that can't be found and also recommended that counties sort and count absentee ballots that were mistakenly rejected." This decision gave Franken most of his winning margin. In Ramsey County, "the recount showed that there were 171 more ballots than recorded votes", yet the ballots were counted, and Franken picked up nearly 40 more votes.
• Up to 200,000 bogus voters in Ohio: In 2008, a Democrat Secretary of State apparently committed to rampant vote fraud "streamlined" the voter registration process. As a result, over 600,000 new Ohio voter registrations were obtained, but the Secretary of State refused to use verification databases to validate the registrations. She later confessed that 200,000 registrations failed to match driver's license, social security and other database checks. Later, a federal judge ruled she was breaking federal law by failing to perform the verification and blocking voter validation.
Oh, and AP hacks: this list is by no means complete. It's what I found in an exhaustive, 17-minute search.
As a result of your obvious incompetence, I'm offering free classes on how to use Google. Email me for a schedule and required study material, schmucks.
Consider the latest lies promoted by the contemptible Eric Holder regarding voter ID:
Speaking to the NAACP in Houston Tuesday, Attorney General Eric Holder decried the state’s controversial voter ID law as a modern equivalent to Jim Crow-era poll taxes...
The state is trying to become the tenth to require photo identification to vote.
To a wave of applause, Holder said, “After close review, the department found that this law would be harmful to minority voters and we rejected its implementation.”
Of course, the nitwits at the Dissociative Press echo the official DNC talking points almost word-for-word:
Keesha Gaskins, a senior counsel at the Brennan Center who has opposed voter ID laws, said she believes the numbers are significant and also underestimate the impact of voter ID laws. She said those numbers don't take into account people who were discouraged from showing up to vote in the first place or who may be turned away by poll workers. Even voters in states with less-strict ID laws may not get the proper explanation about how the process works without ID... "These are still people who attempted to vote and who were unable to do so," Gaskins said. "When you compare that to the actual evidence of fraud, the difference is exponential."

Oops: Obama spokes-hack David Plouffe busted instantly in his outright lies about campaign fundraising
Obama Deputy Propagandist David Plouffe (pronounced Fluff) can't be too pleased with the timing of his latest fabrications:
The timing was especially poor because within a few hours of Fluff's statement, The Wall Street Journal published a shocking report on the true state of campaign contributions.
The executive summary: political spending by labor unions blows away private contributions by the rich, the poor, and everyone in between:
In short, Fluff was once against exposed as the disgraceful propagandist he truly is. He'd be at home in the old Soviet Union, working for Tass.
“You’ve got a few very wealthy people lining up trying to purchase the White House for Mr. Romney,” said Plouffe on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “We’re going to have to have everybody out there who wants the president to continue to a second term to step up and help the campaign.”
The timing was especially poor because within a few hours of Fluff's statement, The Wall Street Journal published a shocking report on the true state of campaign contributions.
The executive summary: political spending by labor unions blows away private contributions by the rich, the poor, and everyone in between:
Organized labor spends about four times as much on politics and lobbying as generally thought...
...The new figures come from a little-known set of annual reports to the Labor Department in which local unions, their national parents and labor federations have been required to detail their spending on politics and lobbying since 2005...
...The result is that labor could be a stronger counterweight than commonly realized to "super PACs" that today raise millions from wealthy donors...
...The hours spent by union employees working on political matters were equivalent in 2010 to a shadow army much larger than President Barack Obama's current re-election staff, data analyzed by the Journal show...
In short, Fluff was once against exposed as the disgraceful propagandist he truly is. He'd be at home in the old Soviet Union, working for Tass.

QOTD: "...according to a recent Gallup survey, 81% of Americans are dissatisfied with the way the nation is being governed. Since Gallup started asking that question in the early 1970s, dissatisfaction has never been higher.
And Rasmussen polls find that consistently two-thirds to three-quarters of Americans say our country is on the "wrong track." They may not know exactly why, but most Americans believe their government is changing our nation for the worse.
What is the answer? We caught a glimpse of it in 2010, when a movement of ethical populism—the tea party—mobilized millions of Americans to read the United States Constitution and demand politics that reflect the majority's values. And while woefully misguided in its diagnoses and policy solutions, the Occupy Wall Street movement was at least right to protest the malignant cronyism in our economy. That energy must re-emerge in 2012 and become a permanent part of our political landscape." --Arthur Brooks

OUTRAGE: Eric Holder disarmed Brian Terry while arming his killers
Just when you thought Operation Fast and Furious -- and its cover-up -- couldn't get any worse, another layer of the onion gets unpeeled.
The mass murders facilitated by Eric Holder -- and the subsequent cover-up by the Obama administration and Holder -- make Watergate look like a parking violation.
Every Republican in Congress needs to demand Eric Holder's immediate resignation. Contact your Representative now and ask them whether they have done so. If not, why the hell not?
Hat tip: JTT.
US Border Agent Brian Terry was shooting beanbags at cartel members before they shot him dead with assault rifles. (Truth about Guns)This is the biggest political scandal in the last century. And vintage media, for the most part, refuses to report on it.
For the first time the Obama Administration today admitted that Brian Terry and fellow border agents were firing beanbags and not bullets during their shootout with armed cartel members... FOX News reported, via Free Republic:
For the first time, federal officials revealed Monday that murdered Border Patrol agent Brian Terry and an elite squad of federal agents first fired bean bags — not bullets — at a heavily armed drug cartel crew in the mountains south of Tucson in December 2011.
The announcement came as the Department of Justice unsealed an indictment charging five individuals allegedly involved in Terry’s death. A sixth suspect has also been charged in a related incident.
The U.S. is also offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the arrest of four outstanding suspects believed to hiding out in Mexico. The names of the four suspects were revealed, and their pictures released, to the public. Police in the US and in Mexico are cooperating and under intense pressure to find them.
[Commenter] Roark added: "Disarmed by the very bureaucrats that armed their killers."

Payback's a b***h: Debbie Wasserman Schultz Called On To Release All of Her Tax Returns, Just as She Demands of Mitt
Dee Wasserman Snider is infamous for her piercing, monotone, whiny, nasal, yenta voice. Which makes her a perfect spokesman-woman-person for the Democrat National Committee. Hillary Clinton sounds like Sade in comparison.
Of late, Dee's had to memorize and repeat her latest bullet points from the Axelrod White House: namely, that Mitt Romney has to release details of his tax returns from, like, 1948 or something.
Turns out Dee hasn't exactly been one to talk: she's never released even a single one of her tax returns.
Since we know that certain pathological behaviors are inherited -- and Debbie's parents have been involved in all sorts of legal skulduggery -- it's only fair for constituents to know what Wasserman Snider's been up to.
It's for the children, don't ya know?

Turns out Dee hasn't exactly been one to talk: she's never released even a single one of her tax returns.
Democratic National Committee chief Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been called on to release her personal income tax returns. The request was made by her congressional opponent, Republican Karen Harrington of Florida.
“This week millions of taxpaying Americans will fulfill their requirement of filing their tax returns by paying any and all taxes due to the federal government,” Harrington’s campaign writes. “Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been asking Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney to release his 2011 tax return even after Governor Romney released his 2010 tax return.”
...There are no records of Wasserman Schultz having ever released her personal income tax returns, though, as the Harrington campaign states, members of Congress are required to disclose assets, holdings, and various other financial information.
Since we know that certain pathological behaviors are inherited -- and Debbie's parents have been involved in all sorts of legal skulduggery -- it's only fair for constituents to know what Wasserman Snider's been up to.
