During blistering CNN interview, Wasserman Schultz reduced to "humina humina humina" responses in nasally Yenta voice

Writing at Townhall, Guy Benson offers Wolf Blitzer sincere praise for his verbal dissection of DNC Embarrassment Debbie Wasserman Schultz:

Let me say this right up front: Congratulations to Wolf Blitzer for being a relentless, responsible journalist. If you value the truth, this interview is a pleasure to watch. If you have even an ounce of human compassion for the in-over-her-head target of Blitzer's inquisition, it's positively brutal...

She stubbornly rejects the (correct) premise that the Romney/Ryan Medicare reform plan exempts everyone over the age of 54, and plays fast and loose with numbers -- conflating 55 and 65 on several occasions. When she is brow-beaten into finally acknowledging -- if not admitting -- the truth around the 3:45 mark, she quickly realizes her "mistake" and reverts back into denialism...

When Blitzer asks her to specify exactly how current or soon-to-be seniors would be impacted by the GOP plan, she cannot. Because they're not.

The Left is intellectually bankrupt on the very subject they claim will allow them to crush Mitt Romney in November. They despise the bipartisan solution Republicans have offered, but they have no alternative of their own.

Dear Democrats, Medicare is slated to go bankrupt in 2024. You say it's wrong for future seniors to be denied Medicare as it currently exists. Okay, what's your plan, guys?

We know that your actions have already cut Medicare by $700 Billion to pay for part of Obamacare. We also know that Obamacare establishes a government panel to ration care for the elderly. And yet the 2024 deadline is still coming. Again, what's your plan, Democrats? Mr. President? Anyone? I confronted Wasserman Schutlz on this very question last summer, and she gave an incoherent and inaccurate response.

...A debt crisis is on the near horizon. Entitlement programs are going under. Twenty-three million Americans are unemployed, underemployed or have given up home. GDP growth is slowing. The president and his allies have no plans, so they're forced to invent smears and argue against positions that their opponents don't hold.

That's why the Democrats' new mantra is "Forward", Guy. Looking back at their track record ain't exactly pretty.

Consumer Metrics Institute sees "a spectacular deterioration" of consumer behavior due to unicorn shortage and Obama policies, but mostly Obama policies

But, Melvin, he was so historic:

August 14, 2012 - Our Weighted Composite Index Continues to Plunge

The year-over-year data in our Weighted Composite Index has continued a spectacular deterioration over the past month:

...Just as our Weighted Composite Index soared last year as gasoline prices dropped, we are now seeing our year-over-year metrics dive as a result of weakening comparisons against much stronger year-ago consumer activities...

...last year's summer splurge by consumers is clearly visible, as is the general weakening (or re-normalization) during the first half of this year...

...furthermore, we believe that [rising gas prices] could impact short term consumer behavior in the coming months... For [this and other] reasons we don't expect any of our charts to reverse course prior to November 6th.

But, hey, we didn't need that Keystone XL pipeline, did we?

Harry Reid's inspiring journey from rags to riches, Chapter 17: Servicing Red China While Killing American Energy

Nothing's more inspirational than a Horatio Alger story, especially when it involves shady politicians mysteriously enriching themselves while serving on the public dole. Such is the case with one Harry "Land Deal" Reid, who is in the news once again. And, as you'd surely expect, his involvement stinks to high heaven.

You know, like those old land deals that magically transformed him into a multi-millionaire while he served "the people".

Reid, who last week hosted the fifth annual National Clean Energy Summit at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, has been “pulling strings behind the scenes” for months on behalf of ENN Mojave Energy, a Nevada subsidiary of the Chinese-owned ENN Group.

After more than two years of secret negotiations beginning in 2009, lawmakers in Clark County, Nevada, unanimously agreed to sell 9,000 acres of public land to ENN for the bargain price of just $4.5 million ($500 per acre) in December 2011.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal questioned the “steep discount” ENN received for the land, which had been previously appraised for between $30 million and $39 million. The arrangement also included a bundle of tax incentives for ENN.

...Reid, who reportedly helped secure a series of state and federal waivers as part of the deal, was actively involved in the negotiations with ENN. In April 2011, he led a delegation of senators to China, where the lawmakers met with senior Chinese officials and toured a number of green energy facilities, including the ENN headquarters in Langfang, China.

Upon his return, Reid called on the United States to pursue “new opportunities to collaborate on and advance clean-energy deployment here and abroad.”

...The project is threatened, however, because NV Energy—Nevada’s largest utility provider—has said it is not in the market for renewable energy at this time, citing the higher costs of solar power and the fact that it has already exceeded the state-mandated quota for renewable sources through 2014.

Reid's gone farther than badmouthing NV Energy for its failure to play nice with the Red Chinese. He's explicitly called for a complete plant shutdown.

Reid, who in his opening remarks at the summit called the power plant a "dirty relic," said the only solution is to "close the plant - not halfway. We want all the boilers shut off." ...Reid said NV Energy should focus on sustainable alternatives.

And Reid's altruistic efforts to help don't stop there.

He's also used his clout to get Chinese firms... wait for it... taxpayer-funded stimulus dollars.

In short, Harry Reid wants to destroy local American companies while funneling your money to his PRC Overlords.

But, hey, that's just my take!

Maybe that crack pro Nevadan journalist Jon Ralston -- or "The Ralston Flash", as he styles himself -- could investigate, if he's not too busy tweeting weather reports and covering for the local Democrat Party.

Yea, Obama! Middle-class taxpayers will pay a mere 50 percent of their income in taxes next year!

Turns out that total taxes -- even for the most modest of middle-class incomes -- will total around a shocking 50 percent next year:

A middle-class taxpayer’s income is subject to a 25 percent federal income tax. Then there is the federal Social Security and Medicare payroll tax of 13.3 percent in 2012—5.65 percent of that is removed from the employee’s paycheck, and the remaining 7.65 percent is paid by the employer. (In reality, the employee pays the entire 13.3 percent, because the employer’s portion of the tax does not affect the cost of labor: The employer would pay the employee 7.65 percent more if there were no employer’s portion of the payroll tax.)

So the 25 percent federal income tax plus 13.3 Social Security and Medicare payroll taxes equals 38.3 percent going to federal taxes in 2012.

And then there are state taxes. According to the Tax Foundation, the average state’s income tax rate for the middle-class taxpayer is 4.82 percent, which brings the total to 43.12 percent in federal and state taxes. And it’s going higher, thanks to the nearly $500 billion in tax increases for 2013 that some have called Taxmageddon. In January of next year, the federal income tax rate for middle-class taxpayers is scheduled to rise from 25 percent to 28 percent, and the payroll tax is scheduled to rise from 13.3 percent to 15.3 percent. This drives the marginal tax rate based on the aforementioned three taxes to 48.12 percent. Add in state and local property, corporate, excise, and other state and local taxes, and the percentage of each additional dollar that is taxed hovers around 50 percent.

...It is outrageous that any dollar earned by a middle-class taxpayer would go as much to taxes as to supporting the taxpayer’s family. The government didn’t earn the taxpayer’s paycheck and shouldn’t be entitled to it.

Oh, but this bloated, unconstitutional, bankrupt leviathan is a bargain at half the price!

Good News: More and More Seniors Face Reduced Social Security Payments Because They're Late on... Student Loans

Seniors are rightfully concerned about the horrific damage that Obamacare does to Medicare.

Well, the hits just keep on coming.

It turns out that the government's incessant meddling with the student loan business has not only spiked college tuition prices, but those loans are now slamming seniors in addition to kids.

According to government data, compiled by the Treasury Department at the request of SmartMoney.com, the federal government is withholding money from a rapidly growing number of Social Security recipients who have fallen behind on federal student loans. From January through August 6, the government reduced the size of roughly 115,000 retirees’ Social Security checks on those grounds. That’s nearly double the pace of the department’s enforcement in 2011; it’s up from around 60,000 cases in all of 2007 and just 6 cases in 2000.

Many of these retirees aren’t even in hock for their own educations. Consumer advocates say that in the majority of the cases they’ve seen, the borrowers went into debt later in life to help defray education costs for their children or other dependents.

...Roughly 2.2 million student-loan debtors were 60 and older during the first quarter of 2012, and nearly 10% of their loans were 90 days or more past due, up from 6% during the first quarter of 2005, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. “It’s really a unique problem we haven’t had to face before, and it’s only going to grow,” said Robert Applebaum, founder of Student Debt Crisis, a nonprofit advocacy group in Staten Island, N.Y.

The threat of Social Security cuts adds to the overall financial woes faced by the aging baby boomer generation. Almost 45% of people aged 48 to 64 won’t save enough money to cover basic needs and uninsured health care costs in retirement, according to the Employee Benefit Research Institute. Experts say reducing Social Security benefits could set them back even more.

...Compared to present-day retirees, younger generations are in deeper debt, which means stories of Social Security garnishment could become more commonplace when they enter retirement. Borrowers in their 20s and 30s owe roughly $600 billion, according to the New York Fed. They’re also leaving college with more debt than their predecessors: 66% graduated this spring with debt, and their student loans averaging $28,720, up from $9,320 in 1993, according to FinAid.org.

Th-th-th-th-th-th-at's Obamanomics, folks!

Transcript: Mark Levin obliterates Obama's rape of Medicare to "spread the wealth" to those who never paid into the system

Mark Levin visited the Neal Cavuto today and completely shredded the laughable notion that the Ryan Budget harms anyone on Medicare.

Cavuto: What do you think of this pretty much unanimous form of Democratic rebuke?

Levin: Is that your form of waterboarding, by the way? That I have to listen to those people?

Cavuto: It's amazing. You'd think the guy was Lucifer!

Levin: First of all, this election is about saving the country. And I'm going to tell you something: Medicare's Trustee, appointed by Obama, said -- six months ago -- that Medicare is broke in 12 years. So, in 11-and-a-half years, there's nothing left.

What does Obama do about it? Nothing.

So Obama's policy is: let Medicare go back in just 11-and-a-half years. And it's actually worse, Neal. That does not include -- because I went back and read the report -- the $700 billion he stole from Medicare to spread the wealth under Obamacare.

Seniors who paid into Medicare need to understand: Obama went into the Medicare Trust Fund, took out $700 billion in the biggest raid in American history, to spread the wealth and fund Obamacare. This is spreading the wealth to people who haven't paid into anything.

That's number one: 11-and-a-half years [Medicare collapses].

Number two: what does Ryan propose? He says, 'Look, I'm reading Obama's Trustee's report! We've got to save Medicare! Here's my proposal: everybody 55 and older, you're unaffected, so you don't need to listen to this debate any longer...

Now, what are we going to do about people in the 20s, 30s, 40s and early 50s? Ask Obama: he has no answer. That is, if you can get a question in. He hasn't answered a question in seven weeks.

What does Ryan say? ...It saves hundreds of billions over several generations [using vouchers like the popular Medicare Advantage. As for Democrats who criticize this approach] ... I say, taking $700 billion out of Medicare to pay for this Rube Goldberg contraption called Obamacare is a complete disaster that will compromise seniors' health care...

...The American people are living this nightmare. So, Obama can put hundreds of millions of dollars of ads, his union buddies can do the same thing. But they know what's going on with unemployment.

The fact of the matter is they can do all their little one-liners and all the rest. I think the American people are smart enough, at least I hope enough of them are, to say no to this.

David "Red Diaper Baby" Axelrod hardest hit.

Truly Terrifying Quote o' the Day

No additional setup is required:

Obama: "A New Vision Of An America In Which Prosperity Is Shared"

"Too many folks still don't have a sense that tomorrow will be better than today. And so, the question in this election is which way do we go?" President Obama asked at a fundraiser in Chicago on Sunday.

"Do we go forward towards a new vision of an America in which prosperity is shared?" Obama asked. "Or do we go backward to the same policies that got us in the mess in the first place?"

"I believe we have to go forward," Obama said. "I believe we have to keep working to create an America where no matter who you are, no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, no matter what your last name is, no matter who you love, you can make it here if you try. That's what's at stake in November. That's what is why I am running for a second term as president of the United States of America."

"Shared prosperity" is collectivism. Statism. Marxism. It means taking from those who produce goods and services to fund those who don't, which is certainly outside any legitimate function of government under the United States Constitution.

I wouldn't be all that concerned except... collectivism has failed every time it's ever been tried in all of human history, from Plato's Republic to the Soviet Union. It leads to despotism and tyranny, as surely as night follows day.

As Seniors Flock to Paul Ryan and Fiscal Sanity, Axelrod Campaign Dials Smear-Ray Setting to "100"

David Axelrod just ran to the bathroom to change his Depends: "Ryan’s Popularity Among Seniors Up 18% Since Saturday."

Despite the shameless demagoguery already on display it appears Paul Ryan is quite popular among seniors: As noted, seniors are of interest given Ryan’s proposal to revamp Medicare with a system in which the government would give older Americans a fixed sum with which to buy insurance. They moved in Ryan’s favor, from a 28-28 percent favorable-unfavorable view prospectively to 46-28 percent this weekend. Again a sizable number, 26 percent, are undecided; debate over Ryan’s position on Medicare may inform their views.

Oh, and then there's this report from Roll Call ("Retirees Shower Paul Ryan With Contributions"):

Democrats say presumptive GOP vice presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan is a senior citizen's worst nightmare, but retirees seem to have no problem writing him checks.

One of the most prolific fundraisers in Congress, Ryan has drawn nearly $400,000 from retirees this election cycle, dramatically outperforming most House lawmakers, according to data collected by the Center for Responsive Politics.

The seven-term Wisconsin Congressman and House Budget chairman has come under fire for the controversial budget proposal he released last year that called for dramatically reshaping Medicare and repealing President Barack Obama's health care law. The plan would transition Medicare into a voucher-like system by 2022 and strike the 2010 health care law

Let me guess the theme of Axelrod's next ad... wait, I've got it! Paul Ryan... killed a man in Reno... just to watch him die.

Scrubbed: Evidence Stanley Kurtz was right about Barack Obama's plot to destroy suburbia

Most. Transparent. Administration. Evah!

A photo of President Obama was suddenly pulled from the website of the group Building One America, whose goals were documented extensively in Stanley Kurtz’s book Spreading the Wealth: How Obama is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the Cities. The book, which was released ten days ago, reveals what Kurtz refers to as Obama’s plan to undercut the political and economic independence of America's suburbs. Kurtz connects current Obama administration policy with his personal history, and with groups like Building One America in particular.

This website shows a cached viewof how the BuildingOneAmerica.org site looked on July 19th, 2012 -- with a photo of President Obama talking to Building One America’s President Mike Kruglik, which was taken during a 2011 meeting held at the White House. Kruglik’s official biography on the Building One America sitedescribes him thusly:

He has been developing grass-roots citizens’ power organizations since 1973 with the Industrial Areas Foundation, the Gamaliel Foundation and Building One America.

And also says:

From 1984 to 1998, he was co-director of the Calumet Community Religious Conference, the community organization that recruited and hired Barack Obama as a community organizer. Mr. Kruglik’s role as Barack Obama’s mentor has been chronicled in a number of works of history and periodicals.

Who is Kruglik and what is his agenda? Reviewer James R. Holland provides the backdrop:

Kurtz details how Obama has long believed that the residents who fled the cities are racists and need to be dragged back into the cities to help solve the problems festering there. If Obama's plans for this forced redistribution became common knowledge, then it would be cause his re-election campaign to crash and burn...

...For those naïve suburban voters who have only been paying attention to mainstream media, if following the news at all, they don't realize that the so-called trillion-dollar stimulus plan was really just a poverty program that was intentionally mis-named to fool the voters. That's why it had almost no effect and certainly produced no improvements.

For more than two decades, Obama and his fellow radical community activists, agitators have been working toward punishing all those people who voted with their feet and fled the cities and left them filled with only poor and minority residents. "Suburbs are for sellouts...For Obama, the suburbs are a defect in the very structure of American life. That is why the president backs his old friends' movement to abolish them."

"'We are battling apartheid in America.' So said Obama's onetime organizing mentor Mike Kruglik in 2005, explaining the philosophy behind his crusade for regional equity. At the the time, Kruglik was directing the regionalist efforts of the Gamaliel Foundation, a national network of community organizations that Obama himself had helped launch in the mid-1980s. Today Kruglik leads the Gamailied offshoot Building One American, which fights for regionalism in partnerships with the Obama White House, although few Americans have any idea that this is the case."

To the radicals, those suburban racists deserve to have their wealth taken away from them and given to the less fortunate but Obama can't publicly proclaim the details of the regulations to abolish the suburbs because, "Much of Obama's base, to say nothing of independents, would be alienated by the regionalist agenda; this explains the president's reticence. Openness about his antisuburban goals would expose Obama as standing to the left of many of his supporters. Middle-class African Americans and modestly successful suburbanites now disposed to vote for the president might think twice if they knew what Obama had in store for them."

"Kruglik and Obama plan to overcome this liability by splitting the suburbs against themselves, creating an alliance between cities and the relatively less well-off inner-ring suburbs."

They hope to achieve this basic change in America by expanding cities into regions that will all come under the control of the nearest cities. Obama and his allies consider everything about the suburbs to be bad. That's where the money has fled. That's where the SUV's and autos pollute the environment. That's where valuable farmland and forests are absorbed to build more urban sprawl. The suburbanites need to be dragged back into the cities and their love affair with the car crushed.

Mass transit is intended to stop the building of highways in order to help eliminate the use of automobiles. The health care laws are really designed to help bring about the redistribution of wealth from the suburbs to the poor.

This is an important goal of Obama and the leftists and if Obama serves another term, he will be able to punish the middle and upper class residents living outside the problems of American cities.

Lest you think all of this sounds outlandish, I encourage you to tick off the items on the checklist.

Another Obama-funded electric car goes up in flames, endangers entire neighborhood with massive blaze

Fisker Automotive, which absconded with $530 million of your money to build $100,000 electric cars in Finland, has encountered a series of all-too-predictable disasters.

First came word that under certain random circumstances, such as letting the battery run down, the entire vehicle could become "bricked" -- or permanently ruined.

Next came the mysterious fires. After this particular blaze in May (above), the local fire department determined the origin was the owner's two week-old Fisker Karma electric vehicle.

Yesterday, another Fisker spontaneously combusted. The owner parked in a Woodside, CA parking lot, entered a grocery store to shop, and returned shortly thereafter to a burning vehicle.

Like the prior incident, the car was new, had never been damaged in a collision, was not plugged in and was not running.

It is worth noting that the car was parked in a heavily wooded area also suffering from a drought; the Fisker could therefore have touched off a significant wildfire. I wonder what the carbon footprint of a wildfire is?

The good news for Fisker? The problem could be in the battery, which is not made by Fisker, but is manufactured by a different company called A123 systems.

The bad news for taxpayers? A123 systems received a quarter of a billion dollars in Obama green grant money.

How many billions of dollars has this administration flushed down the toilet in pursuit of the enviro-Statist agenda? Hopefully the investigations will begin in January.

QOTD: "There is not a single Obama voter anywhere in the land who believes that another four years of him will make this country better. Not a single one from coast to coast. No, what they believe is that he will make the country a worse place for those people that they hate... What they believe is that Obama will grant their group more special privileges and the rest of the country can go to hell...

...This is an election contest between the United States and an emerging Post-American order. That entity will be an American EU run by unelected bureaucrats, governed by politically correct technocrats and upheld by corrupt financial pirates disguising the collective bankruptcy with numbers games so elaborate that they make every billion-dollar con game and pyramid scheme that has come before seem as simple as child's play." --Daniel Greenfield

Best Reactions to the Ryan Pick

• CNN's Candy Crowley -- if that is her real name -- claims some Republicans are saying picking Ryan is "some sort of ticket death wish."

To whom is she referring? Best I can figure, it's sometimes-Democrat, sometimes-Republican Donald "Attention Whore" Trump whose impact on the race will be exactly... nil. Trump is the P.T. Barnum of politics and for CNN to treat his comments with a scintilla of seriousness is representative of the horrific ratings disaster that is the CNN network.

• Oh, and some twit you've never heard of -- Ryan Lizza at The New Yorker -- says that Ryan is (wait for it...) light on experience? As opposed to President Training Wheels, the All-Cook-County Community Organizer? Or Vice President Hair-Plugs-For-Men, who likewise has spent his entire career on the public dole? HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA AHA AHHAHAHAHHAHAHA AHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA HA AH AHHA HAHAH AHA HAH AHHAAHHAH!!! OUCH. OWWWW. I think I just wrenched my clavicle.

• The Leftist scumbags on Twitter erupted with their usual death-wishes:

@RobbyReyn: The bad news is Paul Ryan might be vp. The good news is that Paul Ryan is mortal and can die
@NatiRabinowitz: According to his family medical history Paul Ryan will die of a heart attack in 11 years.
@JMFlorio: Paul Ryan is the biggest f***ing toolbag on the planet. He can suffocate and die like he wants everyone who can’t afford insurance
@CarolineVGray: Morbid math pattern suggest Paul Ryan will die of a heart attack at 53. All heart attacks. Great grandfather 59. Grandfather 57. Father 55.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. Suffice it to say that the "tolerant Left" is a misnomer of epic proportions.

• The Dissociative Press does its usual water-carrying for Democrats with its pathetic propaganda piece entitled "Romney stumbles in running mate announcement". It informs us in large typeface, that Mitt Romney accidentally introduced Paul Ryan as "the next president of the United States". And it conveniently fails to mention that candidate Obama made precisely the same mistake.

• As for those worried about Florida and seniors? They're a tad smarter than Democrats give them credit for: Ryan's favorability rating is 39-to-25, and an astounding 52-to-29 among... seniors.

I support Romney-Ryan 2012: America's Comeback Team.

What Democrats Believe

Democrats believe that you are legally permitted to break into an empty home if you need a place to stay.

Democrats believe that stealing furniture from someone's home -- if it's in the best interest of your family -- is a legally acceptable practice.

Democrats believe that you are within your rights to crash a rich man's party if you're hungry, because he's got plenty of extra food.

Democrats believe that any person, should they require access to clean facilities like showers, toilets, and towels, must be legally permitted to break into a health club.

And because Internet access is a human right, Democrats believe that those without it are legally allowed to break into office buildings to obtain web access.

I know all this to be true.

Because Democrat politicians believe that millions of foreigners have every right to enter our home -- our sovereign republic -- to use our schools, our health care system, our roads, and our infrastructure. Democrats believe that immigration laws aren't laws at all; for, in fact, they are suing states for enforcing the very immigration laws that Congress passed!

These temporary politicians -- these useless Democrats hacks -- no longer represent the people. They represent illegal aliens, who are trespassing in our country; who are entering our land without any background checks or vetting procedures; who are driving up unemployment among citizens; who often come for free health care services or schooling or more nefarious reasons; who do not understand the history or traditions of this country; and whose presence here will ultimately Balkanize this country in ways no one can possibly foresee.

For Democrats, clinging to political power trumps the Constitution; it trumps the laws it already passed; it trumps the concerns of the citizenry; it trumps every moral and ethical tenet of this country. But their appetite for raw power is so insatiable, and it is so naked and malevolent, that they are willing to sacrifice future generations to retain their white-knuckled death grip on power.

Therefore I urge you, America's citizens, to remember the permanent damage these temporary politicians are doing to this country. I urge you to remember this the first Tuesday in November... and to obliterate the Democrat Party politically -- at every level of government.

I really hate it when...

10 Photographs from the Democrat Utopia of North Korea

Behance has an entire gallery of spooky, posed photographs from the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) aka North Korea.

How do you photograph one of the most secretive countries in the world?
For Charlie Crane the answer was simple, photograph what they want you to see. If there is no possibility of getting underneath the surface then the answer was to photograph the surface itself. This series is taken from a larger body of work in Pyongyang, the capital city of North Korea... Although not commonly thought of as a holiday destination all these photographs have been taken at tourist sites throughout the city.

Remember: this is the inevitable endgame for the Democrat Party's incessant, eight-decade drive for ever more centralized, authoritarian government. Their various mandates -- governing energy, health care, retirement, automobile design, shower heads, you name it -- must be enforced through compulsion. That is: they must use force over the individual to compel adherence to their unconstitutional dictates.

That is what the Democrat Party's failed policies must inevitably devolve into: tyranny.
