Absolutely Brutal Ad

"We've heard it all before":

As Jammie observes, "The best offense against Obama is... Obama."

That Roar You Hear in the Distance May Be a Tidal Wave Building

I truly believe that the American people -- all races, all creeds, all colors, all religions, all income levels -- are marshaling together to try to save this Republic in November -- first and foremost, by rejecting the Cloward-Piven Democrat Party. Consider the following data points, all collected over the last 24 hours:

Obama doubles field offices in "leans Dem" New Mexico:

Real Clear Politics currently has New Mexico leaning toward Obama by ten points...

...Given Obama’s troubles raising cash and Mitt Romney’s distinct campaign dollar advantage, you do not suddenly open up twice as many field offices in a state in which you’re polling ten points ahead, unless you are seeing something troubling going on.

There’s also the added advantage of the stress it places on Obama’s campaign purse. He can’t re-distribute tax dollars to pay for extra field offices he didn’t anticipate needing in the first place.

Losing the Independents

Carville and Greenberg have just released a new poll, and it’s devastating for Obama. Among independents — the precious, eagerly sought, oh-God-everybody-loves-them independents — Romney leads Obama (this is a poll this week) by 15 points, 53 to 38 in independents. This is remarkable. This is a Stan Greenberg and James Carville poll. “Independents disapprove of Obama’s job performance 56 to 40%. And when looking at intensity, disapproval is greater than two to one, 47 to 20%.”

...Now, according to exit polling, Obama won a majority of independents in 2008. It was 52 to 44, an eight-point majority in the election of 2000, according to exit polls. “His cratering of support among swing voters reflected in this Carville poll,” and in many others, “is the equivalent of losing more than 5.3 million independent voters from his 2008 total.”

Number of Republicans in America Reaches Record High

During August, 37.6% of Americans considered themselves Republicans. That’s up from 34.9% in July and 35.4% in June. It’s also the largest number of Republicans ever recorded by Rasmussen Report since monthly tracking began in November 2002. The previous peak for the GOP was 37.3% in September 2004.

Boston Globe: Predictive Model Yields Romney Landslide

The Lexington economic forecasting firm takes two economic indicators plus three political variables, plugs them into a formula, and out pops the percentage of the popular vote the incumbent party is expected to win. The formula has correctly predicted the outcome in 14 of the last 16 presidential elections...

...The most recent update of the formula, using July economic data, shows President Obama losing decisively, with just over 45 percent of the popular vote.

Scaled-Back DNC Due To Fundraising Shortfalls

At first pass, a shorter convention might not seem like a big deal. While convention organizers say it helps to open the convention to the people, even if only for another day, others see the curtailment as a potential red flag of fundraising woes.

The original plan started with a typical Monday opening and included four days of convention business -- just as Democrats have done for years... But in January, organizers announced they were scaling it back.

Finally, I'm even seeing signs of conservatism emerging at The New York Times. No, not by the editors and reporters. But if the comments at the Times are any indication, Barack Jarrett Obama is in deep, deep trouble.

I refer, of course, to the New York Times' stunning expose of Barack Obama's puppeteer, a classic, inept Chicago political apparatchik named Valerie Jarrett. Some of the highlighted comments include:

Can we take this country back and return it to its Constitutional roots? I believe we can. Take nothing for granted, however, because the time to save this Republic grows short.

Urgent Labor Day Notice From the White House

The Looking Spoon relays the following urgent notice:

It's really not all that funny. Consider the labor-force participation rate:

Things keep getting worse. And now we're hitting Jimmy Carter malaise territory: a 30-year low in the labor force, achieved thanks to the same failed Democrat philosophies Carter tried. Spreading wealth really means spreading poverty and misery, with the government as middleman. Progressivism -- punishing successful people in the name of arbitrary guidelines of "fairness" -- can't work, won't work and has never worked in all of human history.

Maybe every 30 years or so the American people need to be reminded of the greatness of free enterprise and capitalism.

QOTD: "If you’re one of those leftists, unable to sort out how the world works nowadays and unable to win an honest debate with your political and intellectual opponents, it makes you very angry, and you lash out at them with a violence that often surprises observers who are less engaged in the political or intellectual wars. The left has died as an intellectual force worth taking seriously. Its mission belongs to another time. It is reduced to fighting for political power alone, and its weapons are what we recently called “the politics of personal destruction.” It’s the only way they can hope to win. None of us should be surprised when the leftists accuse the righties of pushing old women off of cliffs, or murdering cancer-afflicted employees, or waging war on women, and so forth. They have to destroy their opponents one by one. They no longer have a “movement” of any significance.

That’s what happens when you become an anachronism. For me, the greatest line of the week was Ryan’s, the one about the fading Obama poster on the wall of an unemployed young American.

Once upon a time, the left was able to lay claim to intellectual and moral superiority, and to look at the conservatives with imperious disdain. No more. Their heroes are fading to the point where a cultural icon, from Hollywood of all places, sees that the seat of authority is entirely empty, and that it’s time to just let its nominal occupant go. Away." --Michael Ledeen

Poster: Democrats really pulling out all the stops to get people to attend the convention

Democrats must be very worried about filling Charlotte's stadium. Its posters are getting more hysterical by the day.

After pushing around the cameraman on public property and trying to destroy his camera, the midget punk says "You're messing around with the wrong people."

He got that right. These people have no business serving in public office. They're the wrong people to be entrusted with anything as complex as government. We're messing around with would-be despots, who apparently lie their way into positions of responsibility and despise a true free press.

Do the people of Massachusetts really want to be led by lying weasel-sacks surrounded by goons with Napoleon complexes? I find it hard to believe they are.

A reader of Legal Insurrection described the same rally as "insanely packed".

David Axelrod's not gonna fall for a banana in the tailpipe again!

Methinks it will be quite a while before the President's Senior Red Diaper Baby appears with Chris Wallace again.

Want a preview of the presidential debates? Then spend two and a half minutes with this clip from today’s Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace and David Axelrod. Wallace asks Axelrod the quadrennial question: are voters better off now than four years ago?

...When the man running Team Obama tries to run away from the question by talking about the tough environment Barack Obama inherited, Wallace lays out the comparison on economic statistics between January 2009 and today, and asks Axelrod again: are voters better off now than four years ago? Answer: Er...

Here are the stats Wallace uses:

• Unemployment: 7.8% then, 8.3% now
• Median income: $54,983 then, $50,964 now
• Gas prices: $1.85 per gallon then, $3.78 now
• National debt: $10.6 trillion then, $15.9 trillion now

Expect Mitt Romney to memorize these statistics, and perhaps toss in the civilian participation rate, which was at 65.7% in January 2009 and in June 2009 at the start of the “recovery,” but fell to a 30-year low of 63.6% in April and is at 63.7% now.

Axelrod needs friendlier questions, you see, which means only ABC, CBS, NBC, MNSBC and CNN will do.

Ryan's Home-Run Line Turned Into a Bumper Sticker

Paul Ryan's exquisite "close the deal" line at the RNC was an instant classic:

Completely clueless MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry believes America is the worst country on Earth...

Her exact quote: What in the world is riskier than being a poor person in America?:

“What is riskier than living poor in America? Seriously! What in the world is riskier than being a poor person in America? I live in a neighborhood where people are shot on my street corner. I live in a neighborhood where people have to figure out how to get their kid into school because maybe it will be a good school and maybe it won’t. I am sick of the idea that being wealthy is risky. No! …Being poor is what is risky!

We have to create a safety net for poor people. And when we won’t, because they happen to look different from us, it is the pervasive ugliness.

Never mind that the country has spent tens of trillions of dollars on Melissa's "Great Society", Section-8 plantations. Never mind that the U.S. has to borrow 40 cents of every dollar it spends. And never mind that Democrats have refused to pass a budget ever since Barack Obama took office.

Never mind all that. Simply consider the lunacy of this MSNBC crackpot.

In Pakistan, women are murdered or disfigured for failing to wear the Niqab (full body covering).

Yesterday, the Pakistani unit of the Taliban announced not only that it demands “unislamic” businesses to close (CD shops, cable service providers and internet cafes) - they also warned women that they have 15 days to start wearing hijab - or have their faces maimed with acid... These guys claim to be out to destroy the “traitors of Allah” - while they go against every Qur’anic command to respect human rights.

...Now, an acid-maiming campaign is being launched - openly - against Pakistani women. Unlike when communities have been taken by surprise, the Pakistani Taliban has stated their gruesome, disgusting mission publicly. We cannot claim shock this time around.

• In India, acid is thrown on women's faces for failing to cover up:

UNICEF once reported a story about a baby girl whose father poured acid into her mouth because she was not the boy he wanted his wife to bring into the world. She grew up unable to speak or hear...

...Despite his years of training, [Doctor] Jawad admits that he was shocked, "I had not seen anything like it before. I had seen bigger burns and on a younger patient, but never facial burns of this nature. Unless acid is neutralised it just keeps going deeper and deeper into your skin. All of the patients I had treated had been the victims of accidents – this was attempted murder." In a pioneering operation, Jawad used Matriderm – a synthetic skin substitute – to re-form her face. It had such impressive results that Piper referred to the surgeon as her "hero".

Consider Harris-Perry reason #5,034 never, ever to watch MSLSD.

She knows nothing of logic, or reason, or of world history, or of the default condition of human-kind. She's never learned philosophy or economics. She has no idea how precious and fragile America is. She's never had to balance a budget. She's never visited the Sudan, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Cuba, or the old Soviet Union.

She is a lifelong Democrat and a simpleton. But I repeat myself.

Vote accordingly in November.

Not an omen: Storm washes away portion of giant Obama sand sculpture at site of Democrat convention

If you're a drone committed Democrat, please don't panic. All is well! All is well!

A torrential downpour that struck Charlotte Saturday afternoon damaged the Mount Rushmore-style sand sculpture bust of President Obama — an ominous beginning to what many fear is a plagued convention.

The sand sculpture was protected from above, and Mr. Obama's face didn't see too much damage. But the storm was so strong that its heavy winds blew the rain sideways, pelting the president's right side and leaving the sand pockmarked and completely erasing his right elbow.

Democrats' choice of Charlotte has drawn criticism from unions who don't like North Carolina's labor laws, and the state seems to be tilting away from Democrats politically.

Very sad.

Some of the enhancements I proposed to the Obama sculpture, I fear, will never come to pass.

I'm told that Putin, Castro and Chavez are all extremely envious. Can you say "Cult of Personality"?

Speaking of Mount Rushmore, “Team Sandtastic” is putting the finishing touches today on a huge sand sculpture of Obama to be on display at the EpiCentre in uptown Charlotte...

...15.5 tons of sand were shipped in from Myrtle Beach, SC for this. I don’t know who sponsored it (I don’t think it was paid for with DNC money) but massive sculptures of sitting political figures, especially Presidents, should disturb everyone a great deal (no matter the party), for reasons I don’t have to explain – no matter how well done they are.

A more apropos piece of artwork was recently unveiled by Jon McNaughton.

The artist describes it as "one painting that says it all."

Indeed.

Clownboy 2000: "Unhinged", "Hysterical" Chris Matthews Gets Into Ugly Confrontation With GOP Delegates

What's a lifelong Democrat operative to do?

MSNBC host Chris Matthews got into a heated exchange with Republican delegates at a Tampa restaurant early Friday morning following the conclusion of the GOP national convention.

Matthews was booed and sworn at as he was leaving the Tinatapas restaurant, which is near the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Matthews turned back and confronted the taunting GOP officials... He headed back into the restaurant to mix it up with them. “I wanted to confront them,” Matthews said, describing his exchange with the men as “towel-snapping” among guys.

Matthews said he told the rowdy group, “What’s this, a douchebag convention?”

The Republicans became angry and retorted back... “I told him that’s next week," said New York delegate Anthony Nunziato, referring to the Democratic convention in Charlotte, N.C., that will start on Tuesday.

...New York City Councilman Eric Ulrich, a GOP delegate, waved to him. But Matthews snubbed Ulrich, according to Bacarella... Ulrich then attempted to acknowledge Matthews as the "Hardball" host exited the restaurant, a gesture that Matthews answered with a "dirty look," prompting loud boos from other delegates at the restaurant, Bacarella said.

One convention-goer yelled out "hey, a--hole," to Matthews, at which point the combative host walked back toward the hostile bunch.

The delegates said that they asked Matthews whether he had gotten a [tingling] thrilling sensation from Mitt Romney’s speech on Thursday night, and Matthews responded that he had not.

Following a 2008 speech by then-presidential candidate Barack Obama, Matthews said, "I felt this thrill going up my leg."

The “Hardball” host made news earlier this week after he got into a heated argument on "Morning Joe" with Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus. Matthews accused the GOP and the Romney campaign of playing the race card.

Priebus said Matthews's comments were “garbage,” and Matthews responded, "It's your garbage."

The RNC head subsequently called Matthews "unhinged" and "hysterical."

Chris Matthews -- a professional Democrat hack throughout his career -- is a disgrace. And he's one of the major reasons that MSNBC gets lower ratings than airport radar and sonograms.

Joe Biden versus... Himself

At least they didn't catch him with a blow-up doll. Yet.

Joe Biden, Intellect of the Democratic Party, Just a Grin With a Body Behind It, Goes Off-Script Again Himself: Kisses Female Supporter Full On The Lips

He really thinks he's charming. And I guess he is... to stupid people.

I've made this comparison before, but both Joe Biden and Bill O'Reilly must have been told by Irish grandmothers a whole bunch of times that they had the Gift of the Blarney...

But Joe Biden is just.... I don't know what to say. Guy's giving full-mouth smackers to old ladies on the campaign trail.

One woman, who the pool later identified as Bev Kalmer, of Poland, Ohio, told the VP: "Welcome to Ohio." His response: "I've been waitin' all day to be here."

She said "You gotta keep the chair" to him -- a reference to Clint Eastwood's speech last night at the RNC -- and he gave her a kiss right on the lips. She swooned. Asked if she wants Biden to run for president in 2016, she told the pool: "I don't know. We've got to keep the chair." She paused. "You got that? The invisible chair."

Ouch. Here's some ice to put on that, Joe.

Such a charmer.

My guess is the reports are true: Hillary turned down the VP slot a few weeks ago.

We already know that she's skipping the Democrat National Convention. And she may be plotting a 2016 presidential run against President Romney.

I say President Romney, because no Democrat would bother mounting a serious run after four more years of Obama.

Update: The gift that keeps on giving:

Approaching a table of men he knew to be Greek, the VP said, “I’m Joe Bidenopoulos.”

“Ask George,” he said – unclear who George was, maybe someone at the table --“who’s the most Greek Irishman he’s ever known.” Sounded like Biden was suggesting he is.

He moved on to a table of three women, sitting down briefly, before moving on to one where two women were sitting.

“Let’s dance,” he said to one, named Jennifer, as she stood up right next to him. They posed for a photo before he turned to her tablemate, who was wearing scrubs, and asked, ‘Are you a nurse?” He then sat down and started speaking to her quietly, presumably about nurses.

Paul Ryan debating Joe Biden is roughly equivalent to Steven Hawking debating, uhm, Joe Biden.

Dude, where's my recovery?

Pass this on to a college-age student or newly minted grad:

The under-30 crowd has the most to lose from Obamanomics. No society can survive borrowing 40 cents of every dollar it spends.

Make sure the young people you know are cognizant of this fact. And that they vote to throw the failed Democrat Party out office in November -- at every level of government.
