WHO KNEW? Sharia Law is Compatible with the U.S. Constitution, According to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA)

By Sara Noble

Maxine Waters is under the impression that Shariah Law can be implemented while our U.S. Constitution is in effect. Anyone who disagrees is an Islamophobe and a hater according to her.

Last week, the Council of Pakistan Affairs and Islamic Society of Orange County welcomed Maxine Waters to a meeting along with other extremists in Congress like Congresswomen Chu and Sanchez, the California Comptroller et al where she made her comments. They would have been controversial ten years ago but in this PC age, the Constitution is controversial.

Congresswoman Waters accused Republicans of attacking the Islamic faith as a national security threat.

That’s patently untrue. It is not Islamic faith Republicans have a problem with, it is radical Islam but she conveniently left that out.

She said that fear tactics accusing Muslims of trying to spread tenets of Shariah into our government has spurred legislation to ban Shariah.

She attacked Rep. Peter King and other Republicans for his hearings on RADICAL Islam. His hearings concerned radical groups like al-Shabob but Maxine claimed it was Islam.

She said she is pushing legislation to ban any racial profiling.

If the people who are trying to kill you are radical Muslims, should you go into senior citizen complexes or Knights of Columbus halls looking for possible terrorists? Maxine’s view of racial profiling is extreme.

Maxine sees the American Constitution and Shariah as nonconflicting. However, having two sets of laws – Shariah and the U.S. justice system – is in itself a conflict.

Maxine minimized the threat of radical Islam and said the Muslim community is actively working with law enforcement.

The biggest problem with her speech is she thinks Shariah law is consistent with the U.S. Constitution. She equates any anti-Shariah law as hate.

BRILLIANT: Gov. Scott Walker's New Jobs Plan Includes Drug-Testing for Welfare Recipients

By M.D. Kittle

MADISON, Wis. — Three years ago, Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Co. Inc. was begging for workers and struggling to hire candidates who could simply pass a drug test.

Good jobs, paying $15 to $20 per hour, going unfilled because applicants couldn’t pee in a cup without testing positive for drugs.

“That’s one of the reasons we were hesitant about expanding … ‘Can we fill up and man the expansion property to meet our customers’ requirements?’” Jim Hatt, Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry president, told Wisconsin Reporter in November 2011.

Times have changed.

Hatt said things have slowed up enough so the market is attracting more qualified workers — employees who can pass drug screenings, to say the least.

While business of late has been like “running in mud” as the foundry’s clients take a wait-and-see approach, Hatt said the problem finding good employees remains a problem across the state.

“I think all kinds of businesses are struggling with people passing the drug test,” he said. “It’s not something that’s really driven by the employers, it’s driven by the insurance company.”

Gov. Scott Walker appears to be taking such concerns to heart.

The Republican governor on Sunday unveiled his jobs plan for his next term, should he survive what polls show is his dead-heat gubernatorial race against Madison Metropolitan School Board member Mary Burke, a Democrat and former commerce secretary under Walker’s predecessor, Gov. Jim Doyle.

The 62-page plan proposes more property and income tax cuts, increased tax relief for manufacturing and agriculture, and reduced barriers to business creation, according to Walker’s campaign.

But the most controversial points, at least the ones that have picked up the most attention, are the governor’s proposals to require drug testing for individuals filing for unemployment and for “able-bodied, working-age adults requesting food stamps” through the state’s FoodShare public assistance program.

OBAMATOPIA: Growth in Food Stamps Far Exceeds New Jobs in Illinois

By Investor's Business Daily

Economy In Crisis: A new study by the Illinois Policy Institute shows in the past four years, the number of new food-stamp recipients in the state has outpaced new jobs nearly 2-to-1.

Illinois Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn, locked in a tight re-election battle with self-made billionaire Republican Bruce Rauner, has been arguing that Illinois, arguably the bluest of blue states, has turned the fiscal corner and is on its way back.

The recovery may be slower than Quinn wants it to be — but, he says, it is real.

It is an odd recovery, though, that makes more people dependent on government through food stamps than on a paycheck.

A stunning analysis by Michael Lucci, director of jobs and growth at the Illinois Policy Institute, shows that from January 2010, when job losses in Illinois bottomed out, to July of this year, the state gained only 240,000 jobs. Over the same period, it added 420,000 food stamp recipients.

Obama pledges support for Iran's puppet regimes

By Clare M. Lopez

In a prime time address to the nation on the eve of 11 September 2014, President Obama pledged an expanded U.S. effort to destroy the Islamic State (IS), which he still calls “ISIL” (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant). American air power, stepped-up training for anti-Assad Syrian jihadis (which he calls “moderate rebels”), an additional $25 million in financial aid to Baghdad, and partnership with “a broad coalition” (that currently consists of 9 countries) comprise the key elements of the new military campaign.

Given that the only territory IS currently threatens are the regimes of two Iranian puppets – one in Baghdad, one in Damascus – Obama’s announcement in effect amounts to a renewed U.S. commitment to support Tehran’s grip on regional hegemony. The nuclear talks about how quickly the U.S. will accede to the Iranian bomb resume in another week.

Remarkably, the president opened his remarks with the rather preposterous claim that “ISIL is not Islamic.” Now, Obama himself has admitted in his autobiography “Dreams From My Father” that he “made faces during Quranic studies.” Still, it might be expected that he retained something of those madrassa lessons—or at least that White House advisors (not the Muslim Brotherhood ones, though) would have steered him away from such an egregious misstatement.

How Democrats Destroyed the Senate to Stack the Federal Courts with Radical Leftists

by Elizabeth Slattery

In President Barack Obama’s second term, the Senate has confirmed more than twice the number of judicial nominees than were confirmed in President George W. Bush’s second term. This is due mostly to the fact that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., succeeded in eliminating the filibuster for judicial nominees (excluding the Supreme Court, at least for now) in November 2013.

In this post-filibuster world, it’s a relatively easy task to push through almost any nominee—even those (such as now-First Circuit Judge David Barron) who were opposed by some Democrats. But Republicans could stop this trend if they take the Senate in the upcoming election.

GREAT NEWS: Andrew Cuomo and New York Democrats Have a Plan to Grant Voting Rights to Illegal Aliens

By Rusty Weiss

Democrats in New York are pushing for – and openly hoping for – a chance to grant citizen and voting rights to illegal immigrants, making the Empire State a sanctuary state.

A bill titled the New York Is Home Act, discussed here at the Mental Recession back in June, has received little attention from the media because it seems so far-fetched. In fact, we personally had a reporter from ABC News respond to an e-mail asking if illegals were being given a path to citizen and voting rights through the municipal ID program, scoffing at the suggestion.

Admittedly, even during our report we also scoffed at the idea, saying the New York Is Home Act has “no chance of passing.”

Unfortunately, that may not be true after all. And the New York Post has caught on:

Illegal aliens in New York could score billions in Medicaid and college tuition money — along with driver’s licenses, voting rights and even the ability to run for office — if Democrats win control of the state Senate in November, The Post has learned.

A little-known bill, dubbed “New York is Home,” would offer the most sweeping amnesty available anywhere in the country to nearly 3 million noncitizens living in the Empire State.

It would bar police from releasing any information about them to the feds, unless it involves a criminal warrant unrelated to their immigration status.

QOTD: "Even if Scotland stays in [the UK], the British political establishment has been tried and found wanting in this referendum; unfortunately it is not alone. The leaders of the European Union have conspicuously and repeatedly failed to master the vital and urgent issues that confront them. The euro has ruined and embittered a third of the European Union; populist movements of protest and resistance are bringing fascism back from the grave in more than one country. Outside, the enemies of every European ideal are gathering strength; inside, voters across Europe increasingly find the post-War social-democratic order bland, remote, and overbearing. Meanwhile, the European political class has been less concerned to fill key posts with the right people than with people of the right gender; as an obscure ancient sage once put it, they tithe mint and dill and cumin while neglecting the weightier matters of the law.

The fecklessness, alas, does not stop at the Atlantic. As the Washington political class gazes listlessly at the near-collapse of our foremost ally, and at the accelerating decline and decoherence of the region upon which we most rely (if most take for granted) in preserving world order, what has been our response? The State Department clings to legalistic pronouncements that Scottish independence in an internal United Kingdom matter. President Obama visited the UK for the NATO summit, but spent more time visiting Stonehenge than making the case to Scots and others that our work is not done in this world and that these are dangerous times in which the west needs to stick together.

If the President of the United States doesn’t make the case for the pillars of the international order—NATO, the EU, and, yes, even the integrity of the UK—it’s not clear who else can or will. What is clear is that if the case isn’t made and made well, even the most basic institutions on which we all rely will gradually and inexorably decline and, in due course, fall apart." --Walter Russell Mead

Some interesting advice for would-be law students

Erin Fuchs at Business Insider relays an interview with a 28-year old law school grad. He attended a top 20 law school but was unable to find attendant employment. Now he's saddled with $200,000 in debt, makes $45,000 a year, and lives with his parents.

What caught my attention is some advice for those considering law as a profession.

What kind of advice would you have for somebody who's applying to law school?

If you absolutely must go to law school even given the barrage of negative economic data about the legal industry and law school grads, there are only three reasons to go to law school: (1) the law school you were accepted to is named Harvard, Yale, or Stanford; (2) you got a full or very nearly-full scholarship; or (3) you have a family member or close friend who can 100% guarantee you a secure lawyer position.

* * *
Did you think you'd end up making more money since you went to a top 20 school?

COMMON CORE EXPOSED: Marxism, America Hatred, and Pornography Packaged Up for Your Kids

By Sara Noble

“Did you know that ‘our bodies, being products of eating, are immoral by essence’, and ‘consumption not only bites the world but lessens the leftovers for everyone else’? [...] “procreation has become an unintentional act of aggression against the fellow multitudes already cramming the planet.” ~ from The American Experience, a propagandized high school literature text

Leftist revisionist history is seen through a negative, bleak, self-flagellating prism and it is now permeating our schools thanks to Common Core.

Periodically, I post an article about one of the texts or supplementary materials being used under Common Core that promote propaganda, and anti-American ideas. America Now is one such book.

America Now by Robert Atwan is a book of essays from recent periodicals, which is being used in AP English classrooms in numerous high schools and in undergraduate college classes throughout the nation. It is Common Core aligned. It is typical of the type of indoctrination that is becoming part and parcel of the Core. It has less to do with English than it has to do with perpetuating the leftist vision of America – the new America, America Now!

America now is an America that abandons traditional America and takes up a new, improved Leftist America. Common core is the vehicle by which this new America can be rapidly and widely spread.

Parading around as English literature, it is simply leftist propaganda. The theme capitalism is evil runs throughout.

Big Government and government agencies are extolled. The rich are demonized, Southern people are demeaned, man is described as too costly, man is an agent of destruction on earth, and illegal immigration is promoted.

Happiness is something to be attained by adapting to the Marxist perspective.

A telling quote from the book: “One cure–for those who feel that their pursuit of happiness has been sent on a long detour through the labor camps of American and international capitalism–is the institution of a government department that has as its only priority the happiness of all Americans.”

Another article, on the sticky post on our front page, deals with yet another vile, unAmerican book called The American Experience.

QOTD: "In a stunning op-ed released Friday, the NY Times finally admitted that “assault weapons” are a made-up political term fabricated by anti-gun Democrats.

Op-ed writer Lois Beckett also admitted that once the term was manufactured and used to outlaw a class of weapons that dishonest anti-gun Democrats had used to con an entire nation, nothing happened...

...The op-ed concludes that violent homicides are primarily a poverty issue disproportionately concentrated among small groups of particularly violent young men, a stunning and rare admission that poverty and the drug trade are the primary problem driving murder, not access to firearms.

Don’t expect this sort of stunning admission of the facts to mark a change in cover from the Times, however. The brief bout of lucidity will quickly fade behind the veil of Alzheimer’s liberalism, and we’ll hear the rest of the deranged gaggle of op-ed writers to quickly fall back into the mantra of “Guns are bad, the NRA is evil, we need more taxes, government, citizen control, etc.”

Still… it’s nice to see that every once in a while a real and honest thought can escape from the morass of Manhattan, however fleeting that honest thought may be." --Bob Owens

CHARTER-GATE: Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) Billed Taxpayers for 136 Campaign Events

New Orleans' local birdcage liner -- The Times-Picayune -- covers the almost unbelievable skulduggery practiced as a matter of course by the Obama sychophant known as Mary "Landfill" Landrieu.

Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu on Friday released the findings of an internal investigation into her travel that found more than $33,700 in campaign flights were charged to her Senate account.

The report found 136 campaign functions were conducted during 43 trips paid for by the Senate office dating back to 2002...

The plane controversy has given Republican challengers Rep. Bill Cassidy and Rob Maness ammunition to hound Landrieu as the highly competitive race enters the final few weeks...

Cassidy's campaign questioned what might be found in the travel records between 1997 and 2002.

"Sen. Landrieu cites a rule change in 2002, but prior to that, it was also illegal to bill taxpayers for private flights. Given Sen. Landrieu's own admission of faulty oversight, how do taxpayers know that problems did not exist prior to 2002?" said Cassidy spokesman John Cummins.

Maness called both Cassidy and Landrieu "creatures of Washington" and said the plane controversy highlighted how out of touch Washington representatives are with the real world.

Landrieu's top five fun Charter-gate facts?

  • 1 out of every 10 travel dollars spent by Landrieu was improperly charged to taxpayers.
  • In total, 43 flights were found to have been improperly charged to taxpayers.
  • Landrieu’s campaign said the report would be available before Sept. 8 when the Senate came back into session, but instead released it 4 days late... in a Friday afternoon news dump.
  • Landrieu’s campaign said that all 17 years of her Senate travel records would be reviewed, but today’s report only goes back to 2002 – 5 years are still unaccounted for.
  • Landrieu told reporters when she qualified for the ballot that the taxpayer money spent on private flights wasn’t “going send anyone to college. It's not going to build any levees. It's not going to help people pay their flood insurance.”

And what does the Obama lackey Landrieu blame her "oversight on?

Of course: "sloppy book keeping."

You guys know that I am no fan of establishment Republicans, but this Democrat carbon footprint needs to go in November.

The Government and Corporate Media vs. Economic Reality

By Jim Quinn

I never believe government manufactured numbers. They will always be adjusted, massaged, and manipulated to achieve a happy ending for the propagandists attempting to control and fleece the sheep. Yesterday, the government produced retail sales numbers for August that were weak and the corporate MSM propaganda machine immediately threw up bold headlines declaring how strong these numbers were. Positive stories were published on the interwebs and Wall Street hack economists were rolled out on CNBC, where the bubble headed bimbos and prostitutes for the status quo like Jim Cramer and Steve Liesman declared the recovery gaining strength. Woo Hoo.

If everyone else is whipping out that credit card, why aren’t you? Credit card debt has reached a new post recession high. They tell me consumer confidence is soaring. Forget about the 92 million working age Americans supposedly not in the labor force. Forget about real household income hovering at 1999 levels. Forget about median household net worth still 30% lower than 2007. Forget about what you see with your own two eyes in malls, strip centers and office parks as you motor around our suburban sprawl empire of debt. Those Store Closing, Space Available, and For Lease signs mean nothing.

I didn’t get a chance to peruse the commerce department drivel until this morning. They put out unadjusted data and adjusted data. Shockingly, the adjusted data is always rosier than the unadjusted data. I wonder why? I can understand the rationale for adjusting month to month data due to holidays and calendar events. But I still don’t trust the adjustments. There should not be a major difference when comparing year over year data. The adjusted data should reflect the same relationship to the unadjusted data on a year over year basis. Well guess what? It appears our friendly government drones may be pumping the current data to give the appearance of recovery. Here are my observations after taking a look at the government propaganda report:

  • The unadjusted retail sales were only 3.2% higher than last August. Considering government reported inflation of 2%, that is a pretty shitty result. But have no fear. The “ADJUSTED” retail sales for August were 5.0% higher than last August. WTF? Guess which number gets reported to the sheep?

Mark Zuckerberg is "well aware that furthering and allowing terrorist death threats ... on Facebook increases readership"

By Larry Klayman

When thinking of Mark Zuckerberg, the words that come to one’s mind may include computer programmer, Internet entrepreneur, billionaire and, of course, co-founder and CEO of Facebook. When I think of Mark Zuckerberg, I think of greedy, disloyal, villain and terrorism-furthering prostitute. Let me explain.

As depicted in the movie “The Social Network,” Zuckerberg infamously stepped on the toes of the very people who helped him rise to the top for his own financial gain. For example, Zuckerberg settled with the “Winklevoss twins” after they sued Zuckerberg for ripping off their idea to program a social networking site they had founded called ConnectU, before Zuckerberg launched Facebook. In another example, Zuckerberg outlined in an email his plan to dilute co-founder Eduardo Savarin’s shares down from more than 30 percent without modifying the stakes that were held by other shareholders. (See “6 People Mark Zuckerberg burned on his way to the top” by Courtney Palis, Huffington Post, May 17, 2012.) This sort of “toe-stepping” is only the beginning and hardly a taste of Zuckerberg’s less-than-credible, money-hungry reputation. My next example is far more serious.

Due to the lack of liability attached to Internet entities, such as Facebook, for permitting and furthering terrorist conduct on their forums, terrorists groups are using the network to grow much stronger. As outlined in my lawsuit against Facebook and Zuckerberg, I came across the “Third Intifada Page” on Facebook. The page, which had over 300,000 followers, contained terrorist death threats and calls to carry out said death threats against all Jews. As a person of Jewish origin and pro-Israel activist with a highly public opposition to radical Islam, I feared an imminent attack to cause me severe bodily harm or even death. My fears were justified because I received death threats as a result of the page. Consequently, I, along with the public diplomacy minister of Israel, simply asked Facebook to take down the page. Facebook refused, and as a result, Jews actually DIED. The page remained on Facebook for a staggering two weeks!

QOTD:

"The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is currently considering how to best protect an open Internet, and the stakes are higher than ever.

Our values remain the same: The Internet should be competitive and open.

That’s how it works today and how it has always worked. It’s a level playing field, where new entrants and established players can reach users on an equal footing. If Internet access providers can block some services and cut special deals that prioritize some companies’ content over others, that would threaten the innovation that makes the Internet awesome.

The Internet was designed to empower people.

To get online, you need to use an Internet access provider. But once you’re online, you decide what to do and where to go. Anyone, anywhere can share their opinions freely – and any entrepreneur, big or small, can build, launch and innovate without having to get permission first.

We believe that consumers should continue to enjoy open on-ramps to the Internet.

That means no Internet access provider should block or degrade Internet traffic, nor should they sell ‘fast lanes’ that prioritize particular Internet services over others. These rules should apply regardless of whether you’re accessing the Internet using a cable connection, a wireless service, or any other technology.

Earlier this year, we joined with other Internet companies calling on the FCC to preserve the open Internet, and today people across the Internet are making their voices heard about this important issue."

OFFICIALS WITHOUT VIRTUE: Eric Holder's DOJ Conspires with House Oversight's Elijah Cummings in Massive IRS Cover-Up

By Investor's Business Daily

IRS: An aide to the attorney general accidentally calls the office of the House Oversight Committee chairman, asking for help in spinning the defense of the agency whose head just said they obey the law when they can.

We have commented many times of the all-too-cozy relationship between the IRS and Democratic members of the House and Senate, with members writing to the agency demanding that specific conservative groups and political action committees they find particularly irritating be subject to the "special scrutiny" that the Tea Party and other conservative and religious groups were subjected to in the ongoing scandal.

Of particular interest to us has been Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., ranking member on Rep. Darrell Issa's House Government Reform and Oversight Committee, who has made every effort to keep the committee from finding out the true extent of IRS corruption and abuse of power in its targeting of conservatives.

PERFECT: Obama's New Policies Enable ISIS Terrorists to Legally Immigrate to the U.S. -- and Collect Welfare

By Michael Snyder

Did you know that one of the Americans that was recently killed fighting for ISIS once cleaned planes at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport? His name was Abdirahmaan Muhumed, and he was a Somali refugee. Since 1975, more than 3 million refugees have been resettled in cities in the United States, and thanks to the Obama administration an increasing percentage of those refugees are Muslim. As you will read about below, Obama has even made it possible for refugees that have given only “limited material support” to terrorists to come to America. The Obama administration says that it is still trying to keep full-blown terrorists from entering the country, but it has become exceedingly clear that administration officials aren’t exactly into that whole “border security” thing. And once refugees arrive in the United States, they are fully eligible for food stamps, Medicaid, housing assistance and a whole host of other welfare programs. So if you are a jihadist and you want to move to the United States legally, all you have to do is claim to be a “refugee” and you might just find that the red carpet gets rolled out for you.

THE UNITED NATIONS: "The Leading Global Purveyor of Anti-Semitism"

By Adam Kredo

A leading human rights advocate accused the United Nations and its member nations of being “the leading global purveyor of anti-Semitism” and “inciting murderous intolerance towards” Jewish people during an unprecedented speech Monday at the international body’s headquarters in New York City.

Anne Bayefsky, director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust (IHRH), stood before the U.N. and lambasted it for fanning the flames of global anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel, according to a copy of her remarks.

Bayefsky delivered her rebuke during an informal briefing on the threat anti-Semitism poses to international peace and security that was organized on the sidelines of the U.N. by the permanent mission of Palau.

While the briefing took place within the U.N.’s walls—and was attended mainly by members of the public and outside organizations—it was not formally sponsored by the international organization, leading Bayefsky to launch a scathing criticism.

“The U.N. is not having a conference on the threat that global anti-Semitism poses to international peace and security,” she said. “This is lunch-time. The courageous organizer, assisted by the principled representatives of the small state of Palau, is independent of the U.N. The facilities are not free.”

“But why couldn’t the U.N., founded on the ashes of the Jewish people, and presently witnessing a widespread resurgence in anti-Semitism, sponsor a conference on combating global anti-Semitism?” Bayefsky asked. “The answer is clear: Because the United Nations itself is the leading global purveyor of anti-Semitism.”
