Urge Your State Representatives to Support an Article V Convention

By Mike Westrich

Do you believe Washington, D.C., is broken? Do you believe those in D.C. are willing or capable of curbing their own power? Are you looking for a solution to reduce the size, scope and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints and place term limits on federal officials?

A package of constitutional amendments — proposed by an Article V convention of the states and designed to curb the abuses of the federal government — would go a long way toward restoring the rightful power of state and local governments.

According to a recent Pew survey, only 23 percent of Americans trust the federal government to do the right thing “at least most of the time.” A higher percentage of Americans trust their state and local governments — 33 percent trust their state government and 41.5 percent trust their local government to do the right thing all or most of the time.

State and local governments are closer to the people they serve and, thus, more accountable. The individuals in a state or city can more easily contact or visit their representatives and officials to voice their concerns or grievances. Unfortunately, D.C. has gradually stripped these governments of their rightful power, turning them into nothing more than regional agencies.

Clinton Foundation Tried to Pass Off Islamic Payments to Bill as “Donations”

By Daniel Greenfield

Corporations and non-profits have been torn apart for a lot less than this. If we’re to believe the Clintons and their defenders, they were completely incapable of doing basic accounting for a major foundation.

Let’s say that’s true. Then just maybe they’re unqualified to run a country. It’s either that or they’re liars and thieves.

It acknowledged in response to POLITICO’s questions that it mischaracterized as foundation donations money from the China Overseas Real Estate Development and the U.S.-Islamic World Conference. That money was actually honoraria paid for Bill Clinton speeches by those entities, said foundation officials, who added this week those were the only mistakes “we are aware of.”

A small mistake. Confusing a sizable payment from enemies of the United States with a donation.

A POLITICO review discovered that at least two entities listed as large foundation donors in past years disappeared from the foundation’s donor website sometime prior to last week. China Overseas Real Estate Development and the U.S.-Islamic World Conference were both on the donor list posted at the library in 2004 and were recorded as having given between $250,000 and $500,000 by 2008.

Very small mistake. I would ask why the Clintons are taking money from enemies of this country, but if Hitler rose from the dead, he would be hit up for a Clinton fundraiser before you can say Achtung.

So which is it… are the Clintons corrupt or incompetent? They need to pick one and stick with it.

Obama cowers as Iran hijacks a U.S.-flagged ship

By Sara Noble

The U.S. should not allow Iran to seize any ships but President Obama’s Pentagon has found some lawyers who advised them they don't have to defend a seized ship sailing under the Marshall Islands flag, despite the fact that the Marshall Islands is a U.S. protectorate

What a message. If an ally’s ship is seized, the U.S. will look for a lawyer to say they don’t have to defend them.

President Obama has allowed Iran to hijack a ship presumed to be sailing under our protection. In fact, Iran lied at first, saying it was a U.S. ship.

Instead of surrounding them and firing a shot off their bow, we have cowered.

We are now escorting our own ships out of fear. We are on the defensive and have shown ourselves to be incapable of standing up to Iran.

CNN reported that U.S. Navy warships will “accompany” every U.S.-flagged commercial vessel that passes through the Strait of Hormuz between Iran and Oman because of concerns that ships from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps navy could try to seize a U.S. cargo ship.

IRGC ships harassed a U.S.-flagged vessel, the Maersk Kensington, and then also seized another cargo ship, the Maersk Tigris, flagged in the Marshall Islands.

GREAT NEWS: Obama State Dept. Shipping Thousands of Potential ISIS Members to Idaho and South Carolina

By Warner Todd Huston

Obama is sending hundreds of Muslims into the USA under the claim that they are refugees, a report finds.

Apparently Idaho and South Carolina are the areas the State Department has targeted for up to 2,000 Syrian refugees.

Idaho is set to become one of multiple receiving states for the relocation of Islamic and other refugees as part of the State Department’s U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).

Southern Idaho’s TImes-News reports that the College of Southern Idaho’s Refugee Center will be taking in up to 300 refugees from around the world starting in October. They anticipate most will be from Syria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Syrian Civil War has resulted in the deaths of 220,000 people and driven some 9 million of the prewar population of 23 million from their homes. Of those, more than 3.8 million have fled to neighboring countries like Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey.

“U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Anne Richard said during a recent visit to Lebanon that between 1,000 and 2,000 Syrian refugees will be brought to the U.S. by the end of September and several thousand more in 2016,” according to the Times-News.

How many members of ISIS that will slip through with this group remains to be seen.

QOTD: "How can people look at the same situation and come up with entirely different conclusions? In Creativity, Inc., Pixar founder Ed Catmull highlighted research showing that only 40 percent of what we see comes from our eyes. The rest is filled in with what our brains expect to see. On the issue of minorities and police departments, the expectations are wildly different, and we’ve stopped looking more closely at the reality.

That’s why we’re likely to see more cities burning in the coming years. The tensions exist, and sooner or later a police incident will ignite the fuse. The specifics of the incident won’t matter nearly as much as the underlying anger. People will see 40 percent of the story with their eyes, and they’ll fill in the rest with what they expect to see.

The only way to avoid such a dismal outcome is to change the other 60 percent of what we “see.” Wise city leaders will get people to “see” the reality that the vast majority of both the police and the minority communities want to make things work. Only after that is a shared recognition can people begin to establish the trust needed to make the cities safer and fairer." --Scott Rasmussen

YOU WILL BE MADE TO CARE: Ted Cruz and the Totalitarian LGBT Left Edition

"You will be made to care." --Erick Erickson

Senator and Presidential contender Ted Cruz recently attended a dinner party hosted by Ian Reisner and Mati Weiderpass, two gay businessmen who own the Out Hotel on West 42nd Street. The pair's interest in Cruz related to global security issues: they discussed ISIS, Israel, and the rise of radical Islam worldwide. That would be the same radical Islam that hangs, beheads and throws gays off rooftops.

Many in the intolerant, totalitarian LGBT community reacted with outrage. Heaven forbid anyone in the gay community worry about national security, free enterprise, and any topic other than gay rights.

Social media exploded with death threats and organized boycotts. Reisner and Weiderpass were forced to beg for forgiveness; the former issued an apology on Facebook, stating “I am shaken to my bones by the emails, texts, postings and phone calls of the past few days. I made a terrible mistake."

In describing the dinner and the subsequent interview with Reisner and Weiderpass, New York Magazine's Carl Swanson used biased language and outright literary fraud to assail the one man (Cruz) prepared to defend the rights of all Americans, irrespective of race, creed, color, ethnicity or background. That is, the one person running for president who is a Constitutional conservative.

Here's the language Swanson used:

BOOM: New Lawsuit Attacks Hillary's Use of iPhones and iPads While Conducting Official Business at State

By Judicial Watch

Revelations this week lead one to wonder not so much whether Hillary Clinton can win the Democratic nomination for president, but whether she can stay out of jail. Last week, we learned about apparent Clinton, Inc. tax fraud, bribery and money laundering to help Putin corner America’s uranium market, and abuse of office to reward funders of the Clinton Cash Machine – not to mention Judicial Watch’s bombshell of untoward Saudi influence and corruption in Hillary Clinton’s State Department. This week, we received more news about apparent money laundering out of India; lies by Clinton, Inc. about more Putin-connected contributions out of Canada; and more cover-up from another Hillary operation that focused on health care.

JW’s chief investigative reporter brought us up to date with more reporting about yet another Clinton front:

Then there is Teneo Holdings, a global consulting firm with deep Clinton connections. Teneo serves as a kind of private-enterprise satellite to Clinton Inc. Doug Band, Mr. Clinton’s right-hand man for many years, is a Teneo founder. Huma Abedin, Mrs. Clinton’s right-hand woman for many years, was a senior advisor to Teneo at the same time she held a top position as part of Mrs. Clinton’s inner circle at the State Department. Bill Clinton was both a paid adviser to Teneo and a client. Secretary of State Clinton’s former Economic Envoy to Northern Ireland, Declan Kelly, is a Teneo co-founder and CEO.

BALTIMORE: Who Is To Blame?

By Jim Quinn

I’ve seen the liberal, lying media pondering how we could allow the riots, looting, burning and lawlessness to happen, as if it is our collective fault. Obama stands before his teleprompter and pontificates about the need for us to end the poverty that supposedly led to Purge Night in Charm City. That term cracks me up. The city has so much charm, its football team once snuck out of town overnight and headed to Indianapolis. It has so much charm its baseball team was forced to play a game with no fans in the stands.

I think most people can agree that Freddie Gray, a petty drug dealer, was killed in police custody for the crime of looking suspicious. The policemen who killed him deserve to go to jail for murder. As usual, the powers that be circled the wagons and intended to exonerate the hero first responders. The people of Baltimore had a right to be pissed. They had a right to protest. They didn’t have a right to burn businesses and cars. They didn’t have the right to riot, loot, and injure others.

It is the police department created and controlled for decades by Democratic progressive politicians that has committed the atrocities against the people who have been electing these progressives year after year. Baltimore has a corrupt, reckless, out of control police department enabled by a crooked and incompetent Baltimore politicians. The rap sheet for Baltimore’s finest is long:

  • Police commissioner Ed Norris was sent to prison on corruption charges (2004)
  • Two detectives were sentenced to 454 years in prison for dealing drugs (2005)
  • An officer was dismissed after being videotaped verbally abusing a 14-year-old and then failing to file a report on his use of force against the same teenager (2011)
  • An officer was been fired for sexually abusing a minor (2014)
  • The city paid a quarter-million-dollar settlement to a man police illegally arrested for the non-crime of recording them at work with his mobile phone.

The cries of racism and white oppression ring hollow. It’s a tired storyline. Facts are always inconvenient to race baiters with an agenda to extract more money from whites with a guilty conscience and the inability or unwillingness to speak the truth. Let’s examine some facts about good old Charm City, USA.

HILLARITY: Top 10 Times Hillary Lied About the Clinton Foundation During Her Confirmation Hearings

With a tip o' the cap to James:

#1: Clinton: "...the Office of Government Ethics and the career ethics officials at the State Department have looked at the rules and concluded there is not an inherent conflict of interest in any of my husband’s work at all. However, the foundation and the president-elect decided to go beyond what the law and the ethics rules call for to address even the appearance of conflict and that is why they signed a memorandum of understanding, which outlines the voluntary steps that the foundation is taking to address potential concerns that might come up down the road.” (Committee On Foreign Relations, U.S. Senate, Hillary Clinton Confirmation Hearing, 1/13/09)

#2: Clinton: “The memorandum of understanding is, as you know, public and the president-elect and the foundation and I have all worked to be very transparent. My team has stayed in close touch with the committee and we’ve addressed the committee’s questions on these issues in a broad range of written answers which are part of the so-called QFRs, the questions for the record.” (Committee On Foreign Relations, U.S. Senate, Hillary Clinton Confirmation Hearing, 1/13/09)

#3: Clinton: "...when it was all submitted to the Office of Government Ethics, they said there was no inherent conflict. My husband doesn’t take a salary. He has no financial interests in any of this. I don’t take a salary. I have no financial interests. So out of that abundance of caution and a desire to avoid even the appearance, the president-elect’s transition team began working with the foundation to try to craft an agreement that would avoid the appearance of a conflict but would also ensure that the foundation can continue its work.” (Committee On Foreign Relations, U.S. Senate, Hillary Clinton Confirmation Hearing, 1/13/09)

#4: Clinton: “So the work of the foundation, the confidence that it has created with donors who know that it has an extremely low percentage that goes to any overhead. It has a very transparent way that it uses the money...” (Committee On Foreign Relations, U.S. Senate, Hillary Clinton Confirmation Hearing, 1/13/09)

Long Hot Summer Coming

Lee relays the following 'from a proven reliable source in a position to know this as true':

Introduction

CBS Baltimore: "Sheriff: ‘I Was Sick To My Stomach’ After Being Told To Stand Down"

But what shocked [Wicomico County Sheriff Michael Lewis] the most, he said, was when city police told him not to confront and accost the rioters...

“I was sick to my stomach like everybody else. … This was urban warfare, no question about it. They were coming in absolutely beaten down. The [city officers] got out of their vehicles, thanked us profusely for being there, apologized to us for having to be there. They said we could have handled this, we were very capable of handling this, but we were told to stand down, repeatedly told to stand down,” he said. “I had never heard that order come from anyone — we went right out to our posts as soon as we got there, so I never heard the mayor say that. But repeatedly these guys, and there were many high-ranking officials from the Baltimore City Police Department … and these guys told me they were essentially neutered from the start. They were spayed from the start. They were told to stand down, you will not take any action, let them destroy property. I couldn’t believe it, I’m a 31-year veteran of law enforcement. … I had never heard anything like this before in my life and these guys obviously aren’t gonna speak out and the more I thought about this, … I had to say a few things. I apologize if I’ve upset people, but I believe in saying it like it is.”

What we know so far:

- Valerie Jarrett is the coordinator of "demonstrations" in cities nationwide. She is "on the phone" with mayors, radicals and activists. NYC is the next big one and has already started.

- Every incident of a black person getting shot by police or roughed up resisting arrest is being examined by a Democrat team to see how useful it could be. Media allies will be told which to go after and what messaged to include.

- They will occur in Democrat-run cities and the police will be hamstrung (stand down, fall back, don't look aggressive, etc....) to maximize vivid scenes of violence and destruction and make authorities look powerless.

- This is an IW [information warfare] campaign that will go on all summer and escalate in cities around the country. The overarching memes will be economic injustice, judicial prejudice, income inequality, white racism and police brutality. They are throwing the police and firefighter unions under the bus on this.

- The goal? Set up another Dem messianic candidate and blame Republicans for the violence. Party before country for Democrats, always.

- Despite the Democrats owning this (cities dominated by Democrats for many decades... like Baltimore) they are convinced they can turn it around and their constituency is dumb enough to buy. They are probably right.

- Louisville and Baltimore were the test events. Baltimore went well. Sharpton is on his way to cement it in, then on to NYC.

- Thug is the new "N" word.

- Pointing all this our too loudly may get you a Breitbart event. Yes, it has gotten that bad.

Long hot summer coming.

I have referred to the above chart as “The most important economic chart in Western civilization.” How did that amazing growth trajectory happen? As Deirdre McCloskey suggests, the West became a business-admiring civilization and that changed everything. We started respecting and rewarding innovators — and the creative destruction they unleash. But as James Bessen explains in Harvard Business Review, it took awhile for workers to benefit:

CONFIRMED: Obama “Siding with Iran” in Yemen Conflict

By The Tower

The Obama administration is “siding with Iran” while operating “over the heads of the Saudis” in its deliberations over the future of Yemen, Tony Badran, a research fellow for the Foundation of Defense of Democracies, wrote Friday in an analysis published on the Lebanese website NOW News.

Badran noted that a number of administration officials, while publicly claiming to support the Saudis, have actually “tilted much more toward Iran.” Last week, for example, one administration official said that Saudi Arabia should stick to defending its border.

IRAN ANNOUNCES OBAMA WILL BE LIFTING NUKE SANCTIONS IN JULY: "Whether Sen. Cotton Likes It or Not"

By Sara Noble

Our president has emboldened the Iranians so much that they feel comfortable telling Americans sanctions will be lifted in July while at the same time informing U.S. Senator Tom Cotton he will basically have nothing to say about it.

President Obama is allowing Iran to become a superpower in the region. He has abandoned our allies and has embraced Iran for a terrible deal. While Mr. Obama won’t sit down or try to work with the Republican Congress, he will sit down with Iran and give them more power than he gives Congress.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif blasted Sen. Tom Cotton in a speech today. He said there will be a relief of sanctions in July, “whether Sen. Cotton likes it or not.

Zarif is the head of the negotiations and he obviously believes all sanctions will be lifted immediately in accordance with his agreement.

Anyone who thinks Mr. Obama isn’t trying to establish a one-party system, needs to look at how he treats Congress and consider his other policies such as open borders.

The congress is letting Americans down at every turn. Sen. Ron Johnson put in an amendment to the Corker bill which would require a final Iran deal to be submitted to the Senate as a treaty.

The Senate voted 57-39 to reject the measure. They have every intention of approving the Iran deal no matter how bad it is. It is obviously a treaty.

In case you didn’t see these tweets, we are literally in bed with the enemy.

THE CLINTONS: Suffering from the World's Worst Clinically Diagnosed Case of Financial Anorexia

Erick Erickson has a great turn of phrase to describe the Clintons. He says they have "financial anorexia", i.e., no matter how many hundreds of millions of dollars they accumulate, they look in the mirror and see the same middle class Americans they once were.

Which explains the crushing, ever-expanding hydraulic of scandals in which the Clinton Crime Family finds itself engulfed. The latest revelation: they concealed     failed to disclose     forgot to report more than 1,100 foreign donations.

Bloomberg (the news service, not the crackpot ex-mayor) - ...The reason this is a politically explosive revelation is because the Clinton Foundation promised to disclose its donors as a condition of Hillary Clinton becoming secretary of state. Shortly after Barack Obama was elected president in 2008, the Clinton Foundation signed a “memorandum of understanding” with the Obama White House agreeing to reveal its contributors every year. The agreement stipulates that the “Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative” (as the charity was then known) is part of the Clinton Foundation and must follow “the same protocols.”

It hasn’t…

...The reason this is a politically explosive revelation is because the Clinton Foundation promised to disclose its donors as a condition of Hillary Clinton becoming secretary of state.

Oh, and that's not all: at least 181 companies, individuals, and foreign governments that "donated" to the Clinton Foundation also lobbied the State Department while Hillary ran the joint.

Even the Clinton Scandal Manual (deflect, blame the accuser, ignore the charges, etc.) may not be enough this time.

NICE JOB, GOV. KASICH: Ohio Obamacare expansion costs $3 billion in first 15 months

By Jason Hart

Americans’ tax burden is already $3 billion heavier because of Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s expansion of Medicaid under Obamacare.

By putting more able-bodied, working-age childless adults on Medicaid than Kasich projected, Obamacare expansion is reducing incentives to work and threatening traditional Medicaid recipients’ access to care faster and at greater cost than anticipated.

After Kasich expanded Medicaid unilaterally, a state panel approved $2.56 billion in Obamacare spending for the expansion’s first 18 months. The money was meant to last until July, but it ran out in February.

Kasich’s Obamacare expansion cost $323 million in March — 84 percent greater than estimates revised just six months earlier.

Using monthly figures released by the Ohio Department of Medicaid, the Republican governor’s Obamacare expansion cost slightly more than $3 billion from January 2014 through March 2015.

Kasich’s Obamacare expansion is on track to cost more than $4 billion by the end of June.

With federal taxpayers on the hook for all benefit costs and Ohio facing a growing state share in 2017, Obamacare expansion may soon consume 10 percent of Ohio’s budget.

QOTD: "In order to accept the notion that Bill Clinton was unknowingly cashing seven-figure checks from the same firms that were asking his wife for a favor, one has to suspend disbelief and abandon common sense to an absurd degree. Surely, some committed ideologues will be able to do just that, but perhaps not enough to salvage Hillary Clinton’s presidential ambitions." --Noah Rothman

NO, NOT SUSPICIOUS: At least 180 Clinton Foundation donors also lobbied Hillary State Department for favors

Perhaps we can check Hillary's emails to determine whether there were criminal wrongdoings. Oh, wait.

Anyhoo:

The size and scope of the symbiotic relationship between the Clintons and their donors is striking. At least 181 companies, individuals, and foreign governments that have given to the Clinton Foundation also lobbied the State Department when Hillary Clinton ran the place, according to a Vox analysis of foundation records and federal lobbying disclosures...This list of donors to the Clinton foundation who lobbied State matters because it gives a sense of just how common it was for influence-seekers to give to the Clinton Foundation, and exactly which ones did.

Bear in mind that this analysis only includes the disclosed donors.  The recently-revealed Russia/uranium deal involved undisclosed donations (part of a pattern, it turns out), in violation of a transparency agreement Hillary signed upon joining the State Department.  Team Clinton's excuse for failing to disclose the information has unraveled under cursory scrutiny. Clinton's defenders insist that nobody has offered concrete proof that this multi-million-dollar "slush fund" favor bank ever resulted in direct action by the State Department; at some point, though, enough smoke convinces people there's a fire.  And the smoke is billowing:
