WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG? Obama DHS busted shipping busloads of Somali Muslims into California

By Warner Todd Huston

Caught on video, a driver for a DHS transport bus told some folks at a California gas station that he was transporting Somali and African immigrants to detention centers in Victorville, CA.

Here you’ll see the video of a large, touring-bus-sized vehicle with covered windows, and featuring the logo of the Department of Homeland Security. The video was taken by Anita Fuentes on the corner of Route 395 and Bear Valley Rd in Victorville, CA about 161 miles away from the Mexican Border.

OBAMA GOES FULL TOTALITARIAN: "We're going to have to change how the media reports"

John Nolte catches the president showing not just a little ankle, but revealing his entire leg.

For going on seven years we have learned three things about President Obama: 1) He loves the poor so much he continues to create more of them. 2) He loves the poor so much he does everything in his power to keep them poor. 3) He doesn’t see the opposition as loyal, but as bad players — his enemy. This is especially true of Fox News, which Obama ripped as anti-poor bigots during a Wednesday afternoon summit on poverty.

...What was most revealing about the president’s comments was his expressed desire to “change how the media reports.”

Speaking of Fox News, the poor, and the way GOP leaders think, Obama said, [W]e’re going to have to change how our body politic thinks, which means we’re going to have to change how the media reports on these issues.”

After seven failed years, to watch Obama sit there and discuss the poor as though he is part of the solution and not the problem, is laughable.

As Nolte reminds us, Obama is completely unfamiliar with poverty and struggle. From prep schools to the Ivy League, his upbringing was one of exclusivity, privilege and wealth:

ELIZABETH WARREN STRIKES BACK AT OBAMA: Declassify the Trade Agreement!

By William Teach

I strangely find myself in agreement with Senator Warren

(Reuters) U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren hit back at President Barack Obama in their tussle over “fast-track” authorization to negotiate a Pacific Rim trade treaty, a power she says could be used in the future to weaken Wall Street reforms.

The president, who wants expedited negotiating power to streamline the passage of trade deals through Congress, said last week that Warren’s claims were “absolutely wrong.”

Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat and prominent liberal voice, stuck to her argument in an interview published on Monday with a Washington Post blog, saying Obama should release details of the Pacific trade talks so legal experts can determine if a pact could be used to weaken U.S. bank rules.

“If the president is so confident it’s a good deal, he should declassify the text and let people see it before asking Congress to tie its hands on fixing it,” Warren said in the interview with the Plum Line blog.

One has to wonder exactly why the trade deal is classified. Why it cannot be released for public view. Why Congress critters can only view it in a secure room, cannot have any recording devices, be watched over as you read it, and cannot take any notes they make with them.

From the Plum Line interview

"Postal Workers to Rally Against Human Progress"

That's my headline for the following article spotted at DMnews; their headline is the less accurate "Postal Workers to March for Expanded Hours, Services."

Members of the American Postal Workers Union will hold rallies in more than 85 cities this Thursday in a “National Day of Action” to call for expanded hours and the offering of new services such as banking to preserve jobs.

“U.S. Postal Service executives and the agency's board of governors are using a manufactured financial crisis to justify their strategy of reducing service, delaying mail delivery, and dismantling a great national treasure,” said APWU President Mark Dimondstein in announcing the planned demonstrations. “Postal workers are fighting for a vibrant, public Postal Service that expands hours, offers new services, and gives quality service to people across the country.”

Pity no one told these budding rocket scientists that barring the invention of a time machine, followed by a sharp reversal of time -- say, back to the pre-Internet era of 1960 -- nothing is going to bring people back to the Post Office.

And that's ignoring the basic issue of its finances, which is no concern for Democrats, I know, but taxpayers are worried.

That's because the Post Office has lost more than $47 billion in the past decade. As Tyler Durden asks:

...why doesn't this bloated, anachronistic, money-losing zombie just go away and make way for the far more efficient and nimble private sector? After all, there are countless companies which could step in and do what the USPS does for a fraction of the cost?

Simple. The answer:

  • 489,727 career employees.
  • 137,037 non-career employees.

Or, as they are better known in D.C., voters.

Actually, I'm going to have to correct Tyler on one point. It's not the number of voters that D.C. fears; the elites piss off millions of voters all the time (e.g., open borders and illegal immigration). No, they fear the public sector unions that fund the Democrat Party.

QOTD: "The candidacy of Carly Fiorina is a fascinating one from a media perspective. She’s a former CEO and political candidate…with both of those pursuits ending with her being dismissed.

The easy line of questioning of Ms. Fiorina has become apparent early and often regardless of the many outlets she’s appeared on since announcing her candidacy last week, and it sounds something like this:

If you got fired as CEO of a company, what makes you think you could be president?

If and when Hillary Clinton—the likely Democratic nominee—actually sits down for a major interview in any capacity, it will be interesting if she’s faced with the same scrutiny regarding her performance in her last job as Fiorina has endured. To that end, feel free to answer these questions: What was Mrs. Clinton’s signature achievement as Secretary of State for five years? And if we’re going through the full LinkedIn page…what was her signature achievement as senator? Why was she fired by Democratic voters in 2008 in favor of another candidate who wanted to be CEO of the party…and of the country for that matter?" --Joe Concha

Illinois Supreme Court Rules That State Taxpayers are Now Slaves to Public Sector Unions

By Steve Bartin

Illinois taxpayers learned this week that they are essentially slaves if they live in the state of Illinois.

The Illinois Supreme Court just ruled that public pensions do not have to abide by the laws of mathematics. This means taxpayers are on the hook for actuarially impossible to pay pensions for public employees.

The Illinois Supreme Court's decision to strike down a landmark pension law also blew up Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner's budget plan and put pressure on him and the Democratic-led legislature to swiftly increase taxes to resolve state government's financial crisis.

IT’S DONE: Stick a Fork in the "Green Energy" Movement

By Stephen Moore

The green energy movement in America is dead. May it rest in peace. No, a majority of American energy over the next 20 years is not going to come from windmills and solar panels. One important lesson to be learned from the green energy fad’s rapid and expensive demise is that central planning doesn’t work.

What crushed green energy was the boom in shale oil and gas along with the steep decline in the price of fossil fuel that few saw coming just a few years ago.

A new International Energy Agency report concedes that green energy is in fast retreat and is getting crushed by “the recent drop in fossil fuel prices.” It finds that the huge price advantage for oil and natural gas means “fossil plants still dominate recent (electric power) capacity additions.”

This wasn’t supposed to happen.

Most of the government experts—and many private investors too—bought into the “peak oil” nonsense and the forecasts of fuel prices continuing to rise as we depleted the oil from the Earth’s crust. Oil was expected to stay way over $100 a barrel and potentially soon hit $200 a barrel. National Geographic infamously advertised on its cover in 2004 “The End of Cheap Oil.”

Barack Obama told voters that green energy was necessary because oil is a “finite resource” and we would eventually run out. Apparently, Obama never read “The Ultimate Resource” by Julian Simon which teaches us that human ingenuity in finding new resources outpaces resource depletion.

WELCOME TO THE PARTY, PAL: Like it or not, you are on the front lines of the Islamic War

By Alan Caruba

Does anyone remember what happened on September 11, 2001? Or is it just “ancient history” at this point? Some three thousand totally innocent Americans were murdered by a sneak attack on the Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Who did it? The same murderous Islamists who attacked an event in Garland, Texas to focus attention on the insanity that passes for one of the world’s great “religions.”

Islam is not a religion. It is a cult constructed around the so-called prophet Mohammad and his assertion that the Koran was the word of Allah. The name Islam means “submission” and the purpose of Islam is the tyrannical control over the entire world’s population. Within this allegedly holy faith, two sects, Shiites and Sunnis, have been at war almost from its inception, never failing to kill one another en masse.

The turmoil in the Middle East is the direct result of this murderous cult and those Muslims who oppose the killing that flows from Islam must keep their silence or become its victims. Jews and Christians can speak out and debate about aspects of their faiths, but Muslims risk death when they do so. For those Jews in Christians living in Middle Eastern nations, death is always a prospect for no other reason than not being Muslim.

Americans have not yet fully embraced the fact that they are all on the front lines -- along with other Western nations -- in a global war with Islam.

"UNEXPECTEDLY": Massachusetts ObamaCare exchange joins Oregon under investigation by FBI

By Uncover Obamacare

It’s no secret that ObamaCare’s father is RomneyCare in Massachusetts, and as we look to the problems that plague a government run health care system, The Bay State is a good place to start. Case in point: corruption in the system.

Josh Archambault, senior fellow at the Foundation for Government Accountability has dug into the state’s $1 billion ObamaCare exchange and found many discrepancies and issues that should concern everyone.

Culled from “publicly available third-party audits and hours of interviews with multiple whistleblowers with first-hand knowledge,” Josh found that Massachusetts officials:

  • Failed to execute a contract with CGI, the vendor hired to build the site, that would track the progress of the project and ensure on-time delivery of a product that included all required features;
  • Failed to commit sufficient resources to the project, resulting in workers sending documents to their home computers to open them, and to demand that CGI commit the additional resources necessary to complete the job on time, at an acceptable level of quality;
  • Repeatedly failed to hold CGI accountable for shoddy work, and for missing required deadlines, often pushing technical staff to approve faulty results, and firing at least one for refusing;

QOTD: "I said at the outset that I think a bad deal almost guarantees war and here’s why. Because the state of Israel, such an important allay to the United States, they are not thousands of miles away from Iran ... Put yourself in their position for a moment. The small country with a small population, nine miles wide at its narrowest point, with a neighbor to the north that openly and repeatedly says it wants to destroy you and on the verge of acquiring a nuclear capability. And Israel feels like their very existence is being threatened, and faced with that, Israel may very well take military action on their own to protect themselves.

I think a bad deal exponentially increases the likelihood of that happening. I also think you look at the other nations of the region, because Iran is a Shia country, a Shia-Persian country, but its Sunni-Arab neighbors aren’t big fans of the Shia branch of Islam.

… So for example, Saudi Arabia, an incredibly wealthy country, they have already said, ‘Whatever Iran gets, we’re going to get. If Iran gets the right to enrich and reprocess, we will enrich and reprocess. If Iran builds a weapon, we will build a weapon.’ And so it creates the very real specter that we’re going to have an arms race, a nuclear arms race, in the Middle East. You’re talking about a region of the world that has been unstable for 3,800 years.

You talk about a region of the world that could have a nuclear arms race, one of the most unstable regions on the planet. And so I hope we’re going to get a good deal. I’m not hopeful that we will, but I think we’re better off if we have this process in place. And so I hope this bill passes here today so at least we’ll have a chance to weigh in on an issue of critical importance." --Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)

REPORT: Obama "TPP" Trade Agreement Hides Unlimited Migration From Mexico as well as Gun and Ammo Bans

By Mac Slavo

The Obama administration is feverishly working with foreign lawmakers and officials on a new Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement. Yet what may seem like business as usual is anything but.

The President has made it a point to keep any details of the agreement completely secret, so much so that what amounts to a gag order has been placed on anyone who has anything to do with the bill. Even members of Congress are unable to discuss the contents of the bill with each other or in public, and anyone who is invited to discussions over the bill must leave cell phones and staff members behind. Since not even Republicans have yet to spill the beans about the details of the agreement, one can only assume that those attending the meetings are doing so under threat of criminal prosecution or worse if they talk.

This, of course, begs the question: What is so important to the Obama administration that it has to be kept secret from the American public until after the agreement has been passed?

What could possibly be so critical to national security that the purportedly “most transparent” Presidential administration in history says no one can talk about it?

Could it be that whatever is being negotiated is so significant that if the American people got wind of what was taking place there would be a collective outcry or widespread protests in the streets?

According to Gun Owners of America, this is exactly what’s happening, and it is nothing short of shocking:

The Real Jade Helm Conspiracy Nuts

By Karl Denninger

From the NY Times:

DALLAS — The questions being raised by right-wing bloggers and conservative commentators about a Pentagon training exercise called Jade Helm 15 traverse the outer edges of political paranoia.

It does?

The eight-week exercise starting in July and planned for locations in Texas, New Mexico, California and other Southwestern states, they say, is part of a secret plan to impose martial law, take away people’s guns, arrest political undesirables, launch an Obama-led hostile takeover of red-state Texas, or do some combination thereof.

Is it?  Or is it training for that highly unlikely but possible scenario?

Nobody doubts that the military needs to train in the sort of environment they may need to operate and for any reasonably-foreseeable eventuality.  That's expected and the usual practice, and there is a growing use of our military in urban, suburban and rural areas of the world (not in the United States) that would benefit from such an exercise.

So it seems that this is a rather ordinary thing, and thus the Texas (and some other people's) reaction is one of conspiracy nuts.

Right?

Let's say I take that at purely face value, which I am inclined to, particularly reading the NY Times article given the slant they put on it and the accusations made about Texans.

Now please explain, if this is a training exercise for overseas readiness, as the NY Times has claimed, why is it that the DEA and FBI are involved in any way with this exercise, including in providing interrogation services -- because they allegedly are.

A prediction I pray is wrong

By Dan Friedman

In the coming years, it will be harder and harder for Americans to remain indifferent to Islamic terrorism, because so much of it will be close to home disrupting our daily lives and dividing the nation along a deep ideological fault line.

We’ve already seen the split that followed in the aftermath of the Texas cartoon contest - as many condemned Pamela Geller as praised her.

That’s only a small taste of things to come.

As terrorist attacks in our nation become more frequent and more deadly, American thinking will become more sharply divided, pitting one side blaming the victims for being “provocative” against the other side blaming the Islamists for being terrorists.

Depending on which worldview prevails, an oppressive atmosphere could settle over the USA – and for all and intents and purposes that would mean the terrorists have won a decisive battle in their Jihad to destroy our society and way of life.

The wild card in all this is the outcome of the 2016 election. It is probably our best (and last) hope.

Americans are not quick studies and are easily distracted. 9/11 was a warning most of us have already forgotten. If we don’t elect a president who loves our Constitution, shares our values, and is willing to do the hard work to reverse Obama’s damage, we will suffer a slow death like the frog in the kettle.

What happens after that is anyone’s guess.

Black Families Matter

By Daniel John Sobieski

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake made all the right noises Monday night as she discussed her city’s response to the unrest enveloping it after the unexplained death while in police custody of Freddie Gray, but she lost more than a few critics willing to give her the benefit of the doubt when she said that “anyone who wants to add to the calls for peace in our city is welcome” – including Al Sharpton.

Rawlings Blake said “anyone who wants to add to the calls for peace in our city is welcome. I would – if Reverend Sharpton wants to come, parents want to encourage their children to, you know, act within the law, I met with young people this afternoon, young people who want peace, young people who want justice, they were giving their own suggestions on how young people themselves can add a voice , and try to add a sane message, a message that says ‘we don’t – not in our name that you are doing – that you are destroying our city.’ Anybody that wants to be a part of that message, I welcome it.”

If one wants to send a sane message about justice and peace, Al Sharpton is probably among the worst to call. He is an instigator, not a peacemaker, someone who rose out of obscurity by propagating the false Tawana Brawley rape case in which New York city cops were accused of raping a black teenager. Tawana Brawley paid for her part in that big lie. Al Sharpton never has.

Sharpton embraced the “hands up, don’t shoot” mantra meant to indict racist cops and police departments after the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri after he committed a strong-armed robbery on his way to assaulting Officer Darren Wilson. Blessed are the peacemakers, but Al Sharpton is not one of them.

The Sharptons of the world don’t want to solve the real problems of the black community, preferring to exploit back unrest with clueless race-baiting such as when Sharpton and his National Action Network organized the “Justice for All” March in Washington, D.C. last December:

BUMMER: The Arab World is Running Out of Water

Daniel Pipes casts a fascinating spotlight on an ongoing -- and little heralded -- water crisis in the Middle East.

A ranking Iranian political figure, Issa Kalantari, recently warned that past mistakes leave Iran with water supplies so insufficient that up to 70 percent, or 55 million out of 78 million Iranians, would be forced to abandon their native country for parts unknown.

Many facts buttress Kalantari's apocalyptic prediction: Once lauded in poetry, Lake Urmia, the Middle East's largest lake, has lost 95 percent of its water since 1996, going from 31 billion cubic meters to 1.5 billion. What the Seine is to Paris, the Zayanderud was to Isfahan – except the latter went bone-dry in 2010. Over two-thirds of Iran's cities and towns are "on the verge of a water crisis" that could result in drinking water shortages; already, thousands of villages depend on water tankers. Unprecedented dust storms disrupt economic activity and damage health.

Nor are Iranians alone in peril; many others in the arid Middle East may also be forced into unwanted, penurious, desperate exile. With a unique, magnificent exception, much of the Middle East is running out of water due to such maladies as population growth, short-sighted dictators, distorted economic incentives, and infrastructure-destroying warfare...

Pipes goes on to describe the challenges of supplying clean water to many Arab countries including Egypt, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, etc.

Oh. And what of Israel?

Israel provides the sole exception to this regional tale of woe. It too, as recently as the 1990s, suffered water shortages; but now, thanks to a combination of conservation, recycling, innovative agricultural techniques, and high-tech desalination, the country is awash in H2O (Israel's Water Authority: "We have all the water we need"). I find particularly striking that Israel can desalinate about 17 liters of water for one U.S. penny; and that it recycles about five times more water than does second-ranked Spain.

Talk amongst yourselves. Topic: barbarism versus civilization.

REPULSIVE: Democrats Now Cast Terrorists as Victims

By Caroline Glick

The notion that a rape victim deserved to be raped because she was wearing a tight outfit lights up all our red lights.

This is the case first and foremost because it absolves the rapist of responsibility for his crime.

We are also disgusted by attempts to blame the victim for her victimization because they are substantively false. If men are more likely to rape women in tight clothing then rape should be all but non-existent in traditional Islamic societies. Yet the opposite is the case. Rape and sexual abuse are endemic to such societies. According to the UN, a whopping 99.3 percent of Egyptian women report having suffered sexual abuse.

There is a third, more general reason that we recoil from the thought of blaming rape victims for their suffering. One of the foundations of liberal societies has always been that victims of aggression are not to blame for their attackers’ behavior.

Over the past few days, we have witnessed a dangerous erosion of this principle among American elites.

Last Sunday two Islamic terrorists armed with assault rifles tried to massacre participants at a Muhammed cartoon drawing contest in Garland, Texas.

The goal of the contest was self-evident. The organizers wished to defend the freedom of speech – and the right to life – of critics of Islamic totalitarianism.

Rather than standing with the contest’s organizers and participants, the US media from MSNBC to Fox News attacked Pamela Geller, the event’s main organizer and accused her of responsibility for the attack.

For its part, the White House has refused to condemn the attack.

Radical, Gun-Grabbing Extremists Seek Shut Down Of Local Illinois Gun Shops

By ISRA

A coalition of gun grabbers including Sarah Brady’s Handgun Control Inc., the Bloomberg Moms, and militant priest Michael Pfleger are intensifying their efforts to shut down lawful firearm retailers and abolish civilian firearm ownership across the United States.

The gun-grabbers plan to launch this latest campaign against your rights on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Chuck’s Gun Shop, 14310 S Indiana Ave, Riverdale, IL.

It is very important that we get a maximum turn out of gun owners to be on hand to support Chuck’s and the right to keep and bear arms.

So, please try to be at Chuck’s to show you care about your rights. Saturday would also be a good time to help the shop out by making some sort of purchase.

If you’ve never been to one of these events, you are in for a treat. You’ll get to see firsthand the tactics of the antigunners. You’ll witness just how low they are willing to stoop to undermine your constitutional rights. You’ll hear the lies, the fabricated statistics, and the hysterical claims about how private firearm ownership is dooming mankind.

If Pfleger takes the stage you’ll certainly be entertained by his special brand of frothy-lipped lunacy. Few will forget Pfleger’s rant in front of Chucks several years ago when he called for the ISIS-style murders of gun shop owners and elected officials who support gun rights. Attendance at this event is a must for anyone who loves freedom. You cannot appreciate liberty until you look those who would deny you liberty right in the eye.

QOTD: "Elton Simpson, the first gunman, attended the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix. The mosque was listed as being controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood’s North American Islamic Trust front group.

The Muslim Brotherhood holds such controversial and provocative views as “waging Jihad” against American infidels, “raising a Jihadi generation that pursues death” and “destroying the Western civilization from within”. Despite these extremely provocative and intolerant views, the Muslim Brotherhood is usually described by the media as a “moderate” group.

The Brotherhood’s American arm believes in launching a “Grand Jihad” to Islamize America. Its final phase calls for “Seizing power to establish their Islamic Nation” in the United State.

Some might say this is a slightly more controversial activity than drawing cartoons of a dead warlord." --Daniel Greenfield
