QOTD: "According to The Wall Street Journal, here’s what [Speaker Paul] Ryan and his establishment Republican “leadership” want you to bailout with your hard-earned tax dollars:

Puerto Rico’s $46 billion unfunded pension liability is its single largest debt. The government pension funds are projected to run out of cash by 2019. Pension payments from the general fund would then exceed annual debt service under the proposed restructuring.

Like Illinois and other liberal states, Puerto Rico has shortchanged its pensions while buying the votes of its Brahmin public-employee class. In 2003 and 2007, politicians created new public-worker retirement entitlements including Christmas, summer and medication “bonuses” (in addition to their subsidized health benefits).

The pension funds have also served as a credit union for public workers. According to a 2013 audit, employees and retirees could borrow up to $100,000 for home mortgages and $5,000 for travel “to foreign countries for rest, recreation or educational pursuits.” As of 2013 such personal loans represented about a quarter of the general employees’ retirement system’s investment portfolio.

In other words, one segment of the elite political class – Congress – is demanding that the taxpayers bailout another segment of the elite political class – Puerto Rican public employees. " --George Rasley

SHOCK REPORT: Obama Grants 700,000 Green Cards to Islamic "Migrants"

By Judicial Watch

With Islamic terrorism on the rise in the United States and Western Europe, it’s worth mentioning that the Obama administration issued around 680,000 green cards to foreigners from Muslim countries during a five-year period, according to data published by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The stats, the latest made available by DHS, also show that the U.S. government admits more than double the number of immigrants from Muslim nations than from the European Union.

THE RINGLEADER: Obama Organizes Mass Jailbreak from Gitmo

By Matthew Vadum

Despite warnings that Muslim terrorists remain a grave threat to the United States, President Obama gave two dangerous veteran jihadists at Guantanamo Bay get-out-of-jail-free cards earlier this month.

Emptying out Guantanamo is a longtime goal of Obama. Shuttering the terrorist detention facility located on U.S.-held territory in Cuba has been a goal of President Obama, going back at least to the campaign trail in 2008. He wants to close the prison camp and unleash the worst of the worst among Islamic terrorists, allowing them to wreak havoc and kill more Americans. Violent Muslim militants are merely misunderstood people from a foreign culture, in Obama's view.

QOTD: "...even under the older, more permissive view of the Espionage Act, Hillary Clinton is in big trouble. It is not possible to argue that she maintained a private system of communication for public business in a fit of absentmindedness. Pleading ignorance or nonchalance about whether the information that crossed her inbox over four years as secretary of State was irrelevant to the safety of Americans is untenable prima face.

Nor can she take refuge in the fact that much classified information is classified improperly. Surely, secretaries of State get documents that come from communication intercepts, unmistakably. Mishandling those is supposed to get you ten years in the slammer plus a $10,000 fine for each count. Then there are the Special Access Programs, the very subject matter of which justifies the Codeword classification.

In short, her case cannot be laid in front of a jury, grand or petit, without a nasty outcome. That is why the Democratic Party cannot allow it to get there. " --Angelo Codevilla

GOOD NEWS: Brokety-brokest State in the Union Wants to Tax Drivers by the Mile

By Hilary Gowins

Illinois already hoses drivers at the pump – now, one of the state’s most powerful politicians is eyeing a new way to collect road-usage taxes from all drivers – and to make sure electric-car drivers don’t slip through the cracks.

Illinois Senate President John Cullerton’s Senate Bill 3267 would require all drivers – not just those with electric cars – to pay a per-mile road-user fee starting July 2017. Drivers would still be required to pay gas taxes at the pump, but would receive a tax credit from the state to cover the number of miles they drive per month, according to the legislation.

If Cullerton’s plan becomes law, drivers would have to pick one of three tracking options: two plans that utilize tracking devices, or a third option through which drivers pay a flat $450 per year.

IRS CHIEF'S RESUME: Lying to Congress, encouraging illegal aliens to steal SSNs to use to file taxes

Remember how the bumbling, idiotic, corrupt, feckless, toad-like losers in Republican leadership followed through with their threats to impeach IRS chief John Koskinen for lying to Congress?

Me neither. Rewind to six months ago:
Koskinen took the post to lead the IRS in 2013 to clean up the mess left behind from scandal that saw the IRS apparently targeting conservative groups. However, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee say he was not honest with investigators and failed to comply with congressional subpoenas.

House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) and 18 other Republican members of the committee signed onto an impeachment resolution that was referred to the House Judiciary Committee just four days after the Obama Justice Department announced there would be no prosecutions against Lois Lerner or other figures in the Tea Party targeting scandal.
Yes, the disgusting, pathetic, nefarious, amoral miscreants who pretend to be our "leaders" in Congress have done absolutely nothing to deal with Koskinen's high crimes and misdemeanors, even though legal experts have stated that it would be "utterly irresponsible" not to impeach him.

QOTD: "David Brock, in a Monday night speech to some of the biggest liberal donors in the country, boasted that his researchers had assembled a trove of opposition research on Donald Trump that Democrats could use to “knock Trump Tower down to the sub-basement.”

Speaking at a reception on the sidelines of the annual spring meeting of the Democracy Alliance liberal donor club at Santa Monica’s tony Fairmont Hotel, Brock said that Trump “was not properly vetted by his rivals — or by the press” during the Republican presidential primary.

But Brock, who is a leading supporter of Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, said that his non-profit opposition research outfit American Bridge started researching Trump last July, and has unearthed some damning stuff.

“We sat on it all so as not to help the candidates who might have been stronger general election candidates,” Brock said, according to his prepared remarks, which American Bridge released to POLITICO." --Kenneth P. Vogel

SALON: Democrat-Run Education System Responsible for Our "Disgraceful State Of Politics"

By William Teach

Salon is one of the main websites to head to when you want to see what the nutter Democratic Party base really thinks. Er, feels. Every once in a while, they unintentionally land on a real truth. In this case, how bad the education system is. Obviously, they fail to assign blame, which lands almost entirely upon the Democratic Party. Poll after poll after poll, article after article, protest after protest, they all show that the vast majority of teachers vote Democrat. Sure, not all of them are the nutters creating songs about Obama and forcing students to do exercises that make them “understand radical Islam”, and aren’t freaking out about water pistols and finger pistols, but, they vote Democrat. Their unions are chock full of the more hardcore Progressives, which vote Democrat. And we end up with this, where the subhead is the actual meat of the article

RUSH: Cruz Isn't Cheating Trump, He's Outwitting and Outworking Trump

By Rush Limbaugh

There's something else about these delegate fights that have taken place over the weekend where Cruz has just skunked Trump. It isn't even a contest. It is fascinating to watch. And, of course, the Trump people think that games are being played and that tricks are being pulled. But that's not happening. This is just somebody who understands the system using it. You know, we could go into a little discussion if you want about insider versus outsider, and I've tried to tell people: "These insiders are not just gonna let this stuff go, folks. They're not just gonna sit idly by and let you take it away from 'em."

The Modern Progressive's Insatiable Thirst for Tyranny

By Dr. Richard Ebeling

What does freedom mean? What is the purpose of government? And what should be the government's relationship to each of us as individuals and as members of society as a whole? These issues recently came up during a dinner conversation with a new acquaintance with whom I'd not previously had such a discussion.

The views that I expressed in the calm and friendly and enjoyable exchange are those usually labeled as classical liberal or libertarian. My dinner companion reasoned from what is the "modern" liberal or "progressive" point-of-view. Like myself, he has been a professor in higher education, and he is widely read and very knowledgeable.

What became clear to both during the conversation and from reflecting on it afterwards are some of the following conclusions.

QOTD: "Through all the progressive's rhetoric about "democracy" and "equality" and "social justice" and "diversity," theirs is a political philosophy and public policy ideology of elitism, hubris, and authoritarianism dominated by the idea and ideal of remaking human beings, human relationships and the structure and order of society into redesigned patterns and shapes that reflect their notion of how people should live, work, associate and earn a living.

That is why the modern liberal or progressive represents the face of a contemporary political, economic and cultural "soft" tyranny – compared to the brutal and murdering totalitarian regimes of the twentieth century – against which the classical liberal and libertarian must continue their centuries-long fight for human liberty." --Dr. Richard Ebeling

BOSTON POND SCUM: Newspaper Publishes Fake Edition from the Future to Slam Donald Trump

Yeah, I remember them doing this with the radical leftist and Jeremiah Wright acolyte named Barack obama, don't you?
The editorial board of The Boston Globe is using a satirical front page to express its uneasiness with a potential Donald Trump presidency.

The newspaper has printed a satirical front page for its Sunday "Ideas" section. The page is dated April 9, 2017, and features a large photo of Trump below dominant headline that reads "Deportations to Begin." The accompanying story has Trump calling on Congress to fund a deportation program amid protests.

SENATOR: Obama's Lawless Executive Clemency Putting Violent Firearm Perps Back on the Street

But it gets worse. A lot worse.

QOTD: "Perhaps you yourself still believe in nationalism or socialism or proliferating regulation. And perhaps you are in the grip of pessimism about growth or consumerism or the environment or inequality.

Please, for the good of the wretched of the earth, reconsider.

Many humans, in short, are now stunningly better off than their ancestors were in 1800. … Hear again that last, crucial, astonishing fact, discovered by economic historians over the past few decades. It is: in the two centuries after 1800 the trade-tested goods and services available to the average person in Sweden or Taiwan rose by a factor of 30 or 100. Not 100 percent, understand—a mere doubling—but in its highest estimate a factor of 100, nearly 10,000 percent, and at least a factor of 30, or 2,900 percent. The Great Enrichment of the past two centuries has dwarfed any of the previous and temporary enrichments. Explaining it is the central scientific task of economics and economic history, and it matters for any other sort of social science or recent history." --Deirdre McCloskey

10 Questions That Will Destroy Hillary's Campaign

Writing at, of all places, Salon, H.A. Goodman poses 10 questions that the FBI should ask Hillary that will, if answered at all, "end her White House dreams". Here are all 10, interspersed with some additional color commentary and follow-ups from me, in case the feds happen to read my blog.

1. What was the political utility in owning a private server and never using a State.gov email address? There was no political utility, nor was it about "personal convenience". It was about hiding. Hiding the co-mingling of Clinton Foundation business with that of the State Department. It was about preventing the public -- and federal inspectors general -- from ever learning the real story of one of the most corrupt officials in the history of the Republic.

QOTD: "... in talking about sexism, it is grossly inaccurate to imply—as Streisand does and as countless other feminist leaders are sure to parrot—that being a woman is an anchor dragging Clinton down. In reality, the benefits Clinton receives from being a woman—potentially the first to reach the Oval Office—far outweigh the drawbacks associated with her sex. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Gloria Steinem go so far as to suggest women are obliged to vote for Clinton based on her sex alone, and somehow such calls for blind gender loyalty aren’t called out as sexism at its worst.

If Mrs. Clinton had a stellar record, if she weren’t notoriously ethically challenged, if she hadn’t evaded transparency laws and compromised classified materials on private servers, if her family hadn’t sopped up millions in questionable payments from Wall Street, if she were able to articulate a compelling vision for the country, she’d have locked up the nomination months ago. Sexism—the strong desire among many to get a woman into the presidency—is Hillary Clinton’s biggest asset." --Carrie L. Lukas

Democrat Senator unwittingly sums up why Obama SCOTUS nominee must never be confirmed

By M.D. Kittle

MADISON, Wis. – U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin this week may have crystallized for conservatives why Senate Republicans are digging in their heels on President Barack Obama’s Supreme Court nomination.

“One only has to look at the Court’s docket this year in particular to see the gravity of the issues that they are grappling with. We know that a Supreme Court justice who’s able to serve 10, 20, 30, 40 years is someone who’ll shape the interpretation of policy for a generation or more,” the Madison Democrat told Politico after leaving a protest on the steps of the Supreme Court on Tuesday morning.

The Coming Drama in Cleveland

By Richard Larsen

This could be the first year in a long time that a major political party convention actually serves the function of producing a nominee, rather than simply being a coronation of a nominee. For many who are emotionally invested in a certain outcome from the conventions this year, the angst and outright anger is nearly palpable. But it’s unwarranted, as borne out by history, and an understanding of the function of conventions.

Until 1972, major party presidential candidates were all chosen by the respective party conventions. The chaotic 1968 Democrat convention in Chicago provided the incentive to move more to a presidential primary system to generate delegates to party conventions. Hubert H. Humphrey became the Democrat nominee even though he had not run in a single presidential primary.
