BUMMER: NFL Popularity Drops in Half After Anti-American Protest
When you’re following the lead of a guy who wore socks depicting police officers as pigs, wore shirts featuring a brutal dictator named Fidel Castro, and donated $25,000 to a group that worships cop killer Assata Shakur, things will not go well
(Breitbart) In news that will shock only those who have spent the last week living in caves, the NFL’s favorability has taken a massive nosedive this week.
The POLITICO/Morning Consult poll released this week shows that the league’s favorability has fallen from 30 percent on September 21 to a low of 17 percent only a week later.
The poll takers said that this month’s numbers are the lowest favorability ratings the poll has ever measured since it first began polling on the question.

Trump Fires Back After San Juan Mayor Reverses Course, Suddenly Politicizes Hurricane Response
President Donald Trump struck back at the San Juan Mayor Carmen YulÃn Cruz Saturday morning after her criticism of the U.S. federal government’s disaster relief response to Puerto Rico.
Trump insinuated that Democratic Party operatives told Cruz to criticize the president for not taking the appropriate tone when speaking about the recovery effort.

TRUMP’S WARNING SHOT: Employer Hit with $100 Million Penalty for Hiring Illegal Aliens
Asplundh, the tree-trimming company, has been hit by a $96 million penalty for hiring (and rehiring) illegal alien workers. According to the federal prosecutors it is the largest payment ever levied in an immigration case.
The company pled guilty to criminal charges in a federal court in Pennsylvania, where its headquarters is located, apparently moving swiftly to minimize the damage to the corporation's image. As a result of the guilty plea, there will not be a public trial.

QOTD: "...what would happen if during player introductions, a player ran out carrying a Confederate flag?
Do you think that they’d say, “Hey, freedom of speech! That guy’s got every right to say whatever he wants!” He would be thrown out of the league if he got out of the stadium alive. They’d probably have to put him on injured reserve before the game even started for what would happen to the guy. You think there’d be any tolerance for that? Hell, no! It’s not about that. It isn’t about freedom of speech. Remember Kaepernick. This all started… As far as the players are concerned, what they think, is it’s all about police brutality. Kaepernick laid it out...
...The players’ grievance is police brutality and inequality and all that. That’s what’s got ’em all revved up... But you see, that’s just the face of it. That’s not the objective. What that is doing is exactly what it’s supposed to do. It’s disgusting people, and it’s causing them to tune out the NFL, because the objective is to harm the NFL as a business, and it’s succeeding. For every fan that boycotts, for every fan that cancels a TV subscription, for every fan that doesn’t buy memorabilia or tickets — for every fan that doesn’t watch the games on Sunday or Monday night — it’s working.
And the league, I think, is a clueless entity in the middle of this, as are the players." --Rush Limbaugh

I came up with more nicknames for Jonah on VEEP...
As a refresher, I recently met a Congressional staffer and we were discussing which TV series about Washington were most realistic.
He stated, without hesitation, HBO's Veep.During the course of the series, Jonah Ryan -- tall, geeky, socially awkward, and (weirdly) also possessing delusions of grandeur -- makes the transition from low-level White House staffer to... Congressman.
The staffer I was schmoozing with said that Ryan's unlikely ascendancy, through a bizarre series of events, was entirely plausible. He said most Congressmen he knew were complete dunces and made Ryan look like Einstein.
The series is very funny and one of the best parts are the nicknames other members of Veep's staff call Ryan.
INFOGRAPHIC: Which NFL Teams Protested America
Consider it a helpful reminder to tune out, turn off, and disregard this sport comprised of unappreciative losers.
I include, of course, the team owners and the NFL commissioner -- who is a disgraceful hack -- that are all complicit in this anti-American crapfest.
It's almost funny, but not really, to note that the 17 Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars players who took a knee in a foreign country are together under contract for nearly half a billion dollars.
That's half a billion dollars of oppression.
Now, consider the chart, below. I'll let you know what I observed after the break.

Say, for all those who complain about people not having enough money for healthcare, what would $116 billion do?
The swelling population of illegal immigrants and their kids is costing American taxpayers $135 billion a year, the highest ever, driven by free medical care, education and a huge law enforcement bill, according to the the most authoritative report on the issue yet.

YOU’RE FIRED: President Trump Needs to Ditch the United Nations Now
Donald Trump campaigned and was elected as an agent of radical change. He promised to roll back the policies on big government at home and transnational cooperation abroad that both parties have endorsed for years. His campaign rhetoric about the “useless UN” and the “unfair” Paris Climate Accords suggested he understood that such organizations and treaties fleece Americans while handing over national sovereignty to other countries eager to gain leverage over us.
But Trump’s recent comments about renegotiating the Paris agreement and reforming the UN imply an acceptance of the assumptions on which both are built: that multilateral cooperation is better able to serve the interests and security of the United States. If this is so, then Trump is buying into the flaws of those assumptions that need to be utterly discredited in order to enact meaningful change.

James Mattis's Reason For Not Caring About The NFL Is Too Damn Awesome
Secretary of Defense James Mattis steered clear of passing any type of judgement on NFL players kneeling during the national anthem during a press gaggle on a flight to India Monday.
“I’m the secretary of defense. We defend the country,” is all Mattis would give on the subject. Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Rob Manning went a bit further in a briefing with reporters Monday with respect to service academy players, expressing his “hope” that they would stand.

HALF A BILLION DOLLARS: How Much the 17 NFL Players Who Took a Knee in London Make
The 17 Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars players who took a knee during the presentation of the national anthem in London on Sunday have combined total contracts of nearly $450 million.
Combing the total value of each players contracts adds up to a whopping $448,373,425, a figure greater than the gross domestic product of over a handful of the world’s nations.
ESPN reported that 10 Ravens players and roughly the same number of Jaguars players took a knee during the national anthem Sunday at Wembley Stadium in London.
NFL players who #TakeTheKnee should talk to the wounded warriors who no longer can
Whenever I hear about NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem, I am reminded of the double amputees that have returned from America’s wars. And the fact that while, because of our Armed Services' sacrifice over centuries, we are entitled to speak freely, but none of us are entitled to do so in a particular forum.
NFL players are employees of a larger organization, just like Curt Schilling was when ESPN fired him for what he thought was protected speech. The speech is protected. Your access to a particular forum is not. They are teammates in a sport that pays these allegedly oppressed spoiled brats millions. Their teammates may share a different view, so does the locker room become a game prep area or a debating society? Does the field remain a porting arena or a campaign rally? Those who take a knee were indeed given that right by many who no longer have knees and are privileged to take a knee in a sport paid for by millions of fans who may disagree with them and who paid to see a game, not a protest. Players who take a knee think they are being patriotic, when they are merely being elf-indulgent and selfish. Go rent out a stadium and invite people to pay just to see you take a knee and see if anybody shows up. The response by the MFL Players Association is disingenuous, at best:
