Epic Fail: Deconstructing the Obama Earth Day Speech

Does someone really proofread these speeches? On Earth Day in April of 2009, President Obama extolled the green jobs that were sprouting thanks to the Stimulus package.

We're already seeing reports from across the country of how this [Stimulus package] is beginning to create jobs, because local governments and businesses rush to hire folks to do the work of building and installing these energy-efficient products...

And these steps will spur job creation and innovation as more Americans make purchases that place a premium on reducing energy consumption. Business across the country will join the competition, developing new products, seeking new consumers...

He's like Kreskin!

The choice we face is between prosperity and decline. We can remain the world's leading importer of oil, or we can become the world's leading exporter of clean energy... Today, America produces less than 3 percent of our electricity through renewable sources like wind and solar -- less than 3 percent...

So we're going to export clean energy.

Like wind and solar.

Should be interesting to see the shipping containers for wind and solar power.

Who writes this crap? Gibbs?

  1. There are many and substantial similarities between Obama and (Australia's left wing Prime Minister) Rudd. Rudd came to office first, with a similar campaign that was not properly vetted by media. He promised a lot but gave no detail, so it has become impossible for him to justify any of his failures. Both govern by spin. Neither are the kind of people who you might think are decent, both being very ambitious, yet relying on their spouses to achieve what they have achieved.
Rudd is less charming and more clearly a failure as a human being, but then Rudd hasn't achieved a desired pinacle of heading the UN, while Obama will never exceed having been President.
