L’IL HILLARY: Sen. Claire McCaskill’s Husband Scored $131 Million in Taxpayer-Funded Subsidies Since 2007

By Mike

Sen. Claire McCaskill’s husband, Joe Shepard, has benefited from a staggering $131 million in taxpayer-funded subsidies since the Missouri Democrat came to the Senate in 2007.

Say It Ain’t So, Joe! Since her husband started becoming a political headache (see: AP report on his $40M in subsidies, “sell the damn plane”, etc.), McCaskill has gone to great lengths to separate herself from his financial interests.

But here’s what she had to say about Joe before those controversies: “We are married, and we share everything. … Some have implied that the assets of my family don’t belong to me. That notion is pretty archaic.”

And since it is Claire’s birthday today, I hope Joe can use some of those taxpayer dollars to buy her something nice. (I hear she loves planes! 😄)

Given that the McCaskill family has only benefited about nine figures, they fall far short of the ten figures that the never-properly-audited Clinton Foundation has pulled in. Maybe we can call Claire "L'il Hill".

Oh, but Democrats are the party of the little people, don't ya know?
