I have never heard someone say, "This doctrine must be true because the pastor of our church says so". Maybe there are people who say such things, but I've been attending Fundamentalist Christian churches for 60 years and I don't recall ever hearing someone say such a thing. Rather, we ask what the evidence for some belief is.

Now I've heard many people who give very weak and unconvincing evidence for a religious position. But I've never heard someone claim we should believe something with no evidence at all just because some authority figure said so or because the latest Gallup poll says a majority believe it.jayhttp://www.johansens.usnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6034478.post-57454519464786603602019-07-24T08:37:36.198-04:002019-07-24T08:37:36.198-04:00Historical climate regimes - ice ages, very warm c...Historical climate regimes - ice ages, very warm climate when dinosaurs roamed the planet , etc. - have been far more extreme than anything we are experiencing today.
These periods of extreme climate ALL occurred either before humans even existed or certainly well before humans could have affected the climate in any way.
Further, the Medieval Warm Period and the subsequent Little Ice Age occurred well before the industrial revolution and also well before humans could have affected the climate.

Climate history is very clear; drastic changes in climate - historically - have had ZERO to do with human activity.

So to even surmise that humans today are affecting the climate is totally without basis.
Why?
Because there is not one shred of evidence AND because no one can explain the historical climate.

Just because most scientists think that humans affect climate (spicy foods cause ulcers) does not make it so.
Science is based on evidence and TESTABLE HYPOTHESES, not on consensus.

A "REAL" scientist, Nobel Prize winner Richard Feynman described in his lectures at Cornell U, how REAL science (used to) operate. He was very clear; it makes no difference WHO or HOW MANY scientists make a claim; if there is no evidence, the claims, at best, are total guesses.

When scientists can explain the historical climate (forget for the moment trying to replicate it with computer models), then, and only then can scientists claim with any degree of certainty, that humans affect the climate.

I realize that it "seems obvious" that humans can affect the climate; but that belief does not make it so.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6034478.post-10170193110186938542019-07-24T07:00:24.453-04:002019-07-24T07:00:24.453-04:00Greenhouse deception:
