These 20 Scientists Want to Make it A Crime to Disagree with Them

By Coyote Blog

I think it is important to publicize these names far and wide:

  • Jagadish Shukla, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA
  • Edward Maibach, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA
  • Paul Dirmeyer, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA
  • Barry Klinger, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA
  • Paul Schopf, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA
  • David Straus, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA
  • Edward Sarachik, University of Washington, Seattle, WA
  • Michael Wallace, University of Washington, Seattle, WA
  • Alan Robock, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ
  • Eugenia Kalnay, University of Maryland, College Park, MD
  • William Lau, University of Maryland, College Park, MD
  • Kevin Trenberth, National Center for Atmospheric Research, Boulder, CO
  • T.N. Krishnamurti, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL
  • Vasu Misra, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL
  • Ben Kirtman, University of Miami, Miami, FL
  • Robert Dickinson, University of Texas, Austin, TX
  • Michela Biasutti, Earth Institute, Columbia University, New York, NY
  • Mark Cane, Columbia University, New York, NY
  • Lisa Goddard, Earth Institute, Columbia University, New York, NY
  • Alan Betts, Atmospheric Research, Pittsford, VT

These 20 people, who nominally call themselves "scientists", have written a letter to President Obama urging him to use the RICO statute to prosecute people who disagree with them on climate science, essentially putting scientific agreement in the same status as organized crime. If they can't win the scientific debate with persurasion, they will win it with guns. From the letter:

One additional tool – recently proposed by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse – is a RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) investigation of corporations and other organizations that have knowingly deceived the American people about the risks of climate change, as a means to forestall America’s response to climate change.

Of course "deceive the American people" is defined by these folks in practice as "disagreeing with us".

With apparently nothing better to do, Obama administration slams Hillsdale College as "not a real college"

By Blake Neff

An Obama administration representative took a shot at a well-known conservative college Thursday, saying the school wasn’t included on its much-heralded new “College Scorecard” because it isn’t a real two-to-four year college.

Hillsdale College, a 1,500-student liberal arts college in Michigan, is ranked by U.S. News and World Reports as the 67th-best national liberal arts college in the country. The college is well-known for the conservative identity of its student body and its focus on a core curriculum that emphasizes Judeo-Christian tradition and the U.S. Constitution. It’s also known for its refusal to accept any federal funding (including federal student loans), in order to remain free of most federal regulatory control.

Despite its name, the Obama administration’s new College Scorecard doesn’t grade schools (though it was originally planned to) and instead just offers a bevy of data, such as schools’ graduation rate and the average salary of graduates. But notably, Hillsdale can’t be found on the scorecard, as though it doesn’t exist.

Ted Cruz: Barack Obama Employing the "Exact Same Argument" ISIS Uses To Justify Killing Christians

By Real Clear Politics

Sen. Ted Cruz says President Obama is an "apologist" who is unwilling to name Islamic terrorism as the biggest problem in the world: "He said, yes they are committing acts of terror, but Christians and Jews have committed acts of terror as well, and he invoked the Crusades and the Inquisition."

"That argument is the exact same argument that is made by the terrorists," Cruz said. "ISIS when they are beheading and crucifying Christians, they invoke the Crusades and the Inquisition."

"I don't think it is asking too much to ask this president to stay in the current millenium."

THE AGENDA TO ERASE AMERICA: The Democrats’ Criminal Refugee "Resettlement" Gambit

By James Simpson

President Obama and his rancid leftist allies have subjected America to a blizzard of lies. Nothing that leaves his mouth even remotely parrots the truth, but typically stands truth on its head. The propaganda infrastructure spanning media, Hollywood, non-profit institutions and the halls of academia then erects a virtually impenetrable wall of disinformation to advance the lie.

They have just foisted on us a “deal” with Iran that threatens to create a holocaust, the likes of which America, and perhaps the world, has never seen. As Iran chanted “death to America” and “death to Israel,” this “deal” somehow skirted the advice and consent role reserved to the U.S. Senate. While we are afflicted with many feckless, incompetent and corrupt Republican Senators — never mind the Democrats — the “deal” could have never obtained the requisite approval of 2/3ds of senators. The lies about the “deal” are too numerous to catalog, and before the ink has even dried, Iran has suddenly “discovered” massive stockpiles of uranium it never knew it had!

Now the administration wants to use the refugee resettlement program to import a flood of Syrian immigrants into the U.S. It will virtually guarantee an opening for ISIS and other terrorists to establish bases in the U.S. legally with taxpayer dollars. Obama created his own 9-11 in Benghazi. Apparently that wasn’t enough. Now he wants one here.

GREAT NEWS: Iran Cranks Up Global Funding of Terror Groups in Anticipation of Democrat Sanctions Relief

By The Tower

Iran is using the expected financial windfall it will receive from the nuclear deal to increase its funding of the terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas, Avi Issacharoff reported in The Times of Israel today.

Since the deal was signed, Iran has significantly increased its financial support for two of the largest terror groups in the region that have become political players, Hamas and Hezbollah. In the years before the deal was signed, the crippling sanctions limited this support, which had significantly diminished along with Iran’s economy. But Tehran’s belief that tens, or hundreds, of billions of dollars will flow into the country in the coming years as a result of sanctions relief has led to a decision to boost the cash flow to these terror organizations.

This support, for example, has enabled Hezbollah to obtain highly developed new armaments, including advanced technologies that many militaries around the world would envy.

PROF. JEFFREY SONNENFELD: Yes, Trump Was Right, Carly Fiorina Was One of the Worst CEOs of All-Time

A Dean at Yale Business School, Jeffrey Sonnenfeld was surprised to hear his name come up not once, but twice, at CNN's GOP debate. Donald Trump noted Fiorina's abysmal track record as a CEO at Lucent and HP, citing Sonnenfeld's authorship, which was not rooted in any political affiliation.

Fiorina's response was to deflect and deny, but Sonnenfeld penned a blistering response today in Politico:

As Fiorina admits, I have been critical of her for over a decade—long before she announced her political aspirations. I have studied her business record, challenged her leadership abilities and have come to agree with the assessment that she was one of the worst technology CEOs in history...

Trump on the Second Amendment

By Karl Denninger

The cuckservative world is agape, and the liberals are running screaming -- and scared -- today.

Donald J. Trump on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms

The Second Amendment to our Constitution is clear. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed upon. Period.

Let me begin: While Mr. Trump's position is miles ahead of many others in the political sphere, he could have stopped right here when it comes to the law -- after all, The Second Amendment is clear.

The Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that belongs to all law-abiding Americans. The Constitution doesn’t create that right – it ensures that the government can’t take it away. Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendment’s purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families. This is about self-defense, plain and simple.

Correct.

These Units are New. They Look Human.

As Doug Powers relates it, Hillary's performance on Face the Nation was bug-ridden, though she has assured us she is, in fact, a human.

This appearance was sufficiently disturbing that I suspect it will boost Sanders in the polls and nudge Joe Biden just a bit closer to throwing his toupee in the ring.

ANSWERING THE MEDIA’S QUESTION: Is Obama a Muslim?

By Lawrence Sellin

I do not believe Barack Obama is a Muslim, nor do I think he is a Christian, nor do I think it matters, because he is not motivated by any religious belief, but by a secular ideology.

All of his convictions and actions can be explained by a single supposition.

Obama is dedicated to the subversion of Western, in particular White European, Judeo-Christian-based democracy.

In the world today, the two strongest forces opposing Western, Judeo-Christian democracy are radical Islam and Marxism in its current manifestations.

The proponents of radical Islam and Marxism have a shared hatred of the United States as the embodiment of evil and the main impediment to the subjugation of the individual by either Sharia or the state.

In that respect, Obama's modus operandi can be considered Islamo-Marxist by embracing their methods that, he thinks, can effectively undermine American culture and weaken the ability to transmit to future generations the principles upon which the United States was founded, in order to pave the way for a new political order, his so-called fundamental transformation.

Top 20 Photos of Helpless Muslim Refugees in Europe You’ll Never See in Legacy Media

Why won't U.S. media show you how Muslim "refugees" are making themselves at home in Europe?

After all, the Democrat party is demanding that Obama bring 200,000 more of these "refugees" into American cities and towns -- at taxpayer expense. The least they could do is show you what you’ll be getting for your money.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: 20 Quotes by Barack Obama on Islam

The media exploded yesterday in "outrage" at Donald Trump's failure to correct a town hall questioner who accused Barack Obama of being a Muslim.

It's worth highlighting the hypocrisy of the media. After all, it was Hillary Clinton -- during the 2008 Democrat primary campaign -- who first raised suspicions that Obama was likely a crypto-Muslim.

Oh, and it wasn't Donald Trump who uttered the following public statements regarding Islam. It was Barack Obama:

1 “The future must not belong to those who slander the Prophet of Islam”

2 “The sweetest sound I know is the Muslim call to prayer”

3 “We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world — including in my own country.”

4 “As a student of history, I also know civilization’s debt to Islam.”

5 “Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance.”

I HOPE YOU’RE SITTING DOWN: Obama rolls out the White House red carpet for racist, pro-cop-killing movement

By Matthew Vadum

The Obama White House rolled out the red carpet this week for leaders of the racist revolutionary Black Lives Matter movement, providing yet more confirmation that the Obama administration supports its members' increasingly violent activism.

News of the meeting comes after a Southern police chief was given the boot for posting a note critical of Black Lives Matter and of President Obama's incessant race-baiting.

Black Lives Matter is animated not only by anti-white racism but by a hatred of normal American values, including law and order. Its members denounce the U.S. for imagined institutional racism and discrimination against African-Americans. Members idolize convicted, unrepentant cop-killers Assata Shakur and Mumia Abu Jamal, both of whom are black, and have declared "war" on law enforcement. Its members openly call for police officers to be assassinated.

Black Lives Matter activist Joseph Thomas Johnson-Shanks, a 25-year-old black man, murdered 31-year-old white Kentucky State Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder last Sunday night. Johnson-Shanks apparently committed suicide-by-cop when troopers caught up with him the next morning. The convicted felon pointed a gun at police and they shot him in self-defense.

The White House love fest Wednesday came after several high-profile attacks on law enforcement across America.

Hillary Answers Zero Questions During Wide-Ranging CNN Interview

By Sara Noble

Wolf Blitzer interviewed Hillary Clinton for 14 minutes and managed to let her duck every question. He also didn’t ask a single follow up question. Why even bother interviewing her?

The questions she didn’t answer:

• Carly Fiorina said you lack accomplishments. What’s your biggest accomplishment as Secretary of State?

• Carly Fiorina dared you to watch the Planned Parenthood videos, have you seen them?

• Might Planned Parenthood have broken any federal laws?

• On your server, why did it take you so long to apologize?

• Why is Bernie Sanders beating you in Iowa and New Hampshire?

• Are you more qualified than Vice President Biden?

• Are you ready to accept more DNC debates?

• Will you call on the DNC to authorize more debates?

• Would you be a better president than your husband?

It would be pretty funny if she wasn’t running for president. It would be nice to find out what she thinks her biggest accomplishments as Secretary of State are.

You can see the entire video at Independent Sentinel.

OH, MY: Politico Notes "Ted Cruz, Sitting Pretty"

Rich Lowry, writing at -- of all places -- Politico has an interesting analysis of the current GOP state of play ("Ted Cruz, Sitting Pretty"):

Ted Cruz isn’t topping the polls or dominating the conversation, but he’s one of the winners of the past few months.

His odds of winning the nomination have increased more than anyone else’s besides Donald Trump, and if you believe (reasonably enough) that Trump isn’t built to last, more than anyone else’s, period.

Let’s review. There was always the danger of Cruz, who made his national reputation on the strength of a misbegotten government shutdown, seeming like too much of a bomb-thrower. That was before it began to look like the Republican Party is open to a candidate only slightly less disruptive than Auguste Vaillant, the 19th-century French anarchist who struck a blow against politics as usual by literally throwing a bomb into the French Chamber of Deputies in 1893 (the establishment wasn’t amused — it executed him).

Such is the disgust with the Republican leadership, that there is no longer such a thing as going too far.

OUTRAGE: Muslim Kid Brings Steel Case with Timer and Wires Hanging Out to School, Teachers Suspect the Worst

So a kid in Dallas named Mohamed has made headlines around the world for bringing an electronic clock to school; teachers suspected foul play, the police were called and the kid taken into custody for a brief period of time.

Social media blew up: targeting a poor, innocent kid for building a clock? Curiously, I noticed most media outlets never showed this clever device that terrified teachers. So it turns out the clock was constructed inside a steel box with an LED timer/clock mounted on it and wires hanging out. Here's a picture of the device once it was opened up:

In other words, the media and the White House are using these very sensible precautions to pillory the school system and Texas in general.

Just don't mention that the Tsarnaev brothers had backpacks.

And the overall level of hypocrisy, if you think about recent events in schools, is pretty stunning:

SHOCKA: Obama’s Iranian Lobby Tied Directly to Islamist Terror Regime

By The Tower

A prominent Iranian dissident has exposed the extensive commercial and political links between National Iranian American Council (NIAC) and a number of key figures in the Iranian regime, including current President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Javad Zarif.

Writing in the Daily Beast under the pseudonym “Alex Shirazi,” the dissident – who concealed his identity out of fear of reprisals against his family in Iran – chronicled NIAC’s evolution within the broader ambitions of the Namazis, a little-known but influential Iranian family that first rose to prominence under the Shah and returned to Iranian public life following the death of Ayatollah Khomeini in 1989. Under the 1989-97 Presidency of Hashemi Rasfanjani, who combined doctrinal orthodoxy with an eye for a smart deal, the Namazis were again in their element. Writes Shirazi:

IMPORTING "MIGRANTS" FROM SYRIA: What Could Go Wrong?

Europe is now discovering all of the benefits of unchecked immigration.

Which makes you wonder: why are dozens of Democrats lobbying to import 150,000 Syrians (and untold number of ISIS terrorists) into the United States?

Any Democrat advocating this insanity should be required to accept these "migrants" into their Congressional districts and their neighborhoods. We'll see how that plays with their constituents.

How to Create a Banana Republic

By Daniel Greenfield

You get a banana republic by starting with a dictator.

Obama's position has been straightforward, at least privately. He will do whatever he wants and no one will stop him. He has repeatedly defied Congress and the courts to do so.

While he plays the game of giving speech in which he demands that Congress do X or Y, it's in practice shut out of the process. Here's how it worked on the Iran Deal.

Obama made it clear to Democrats in Congress that he would implement the deal no matter what. The Republican leadership by now has gotten the message. The message is that Congressional voters are irrelevant. They don't affect policy unless the dictator-in-chief allows them to.

That reduces all such votes to positioning. Gestures. Some are more meaningful than others, but barring impeachment proceedings, they don't really matter.

Obama illegally allocates money, goes to war, makes treaties and makes appointments while bypassing the Senate. In such an environment, you either defy or you appear to defy. Compromise is irrelevant because Obama doesn't compromise. Not even with fellow Democrats.

PRIORITIES: Democrats Attack FanDuel and DraftKings, Yet Ignore a Nuclear Iran and a bankrupt Social Security

It's pretty cool how a Congressional Representative from Atlantic City has nothing better to focus on than fantasy sports.

If you were watching NFL games this weekend, there was something that everyone saw that was hard to miss. Commercials for daily fantasy sports (dubbed “DFS”) websites like DraftKings and FanDuel played regularly, and their ads were plastered everywhere at stadiums...

As opposed to normal fantasy leagues, where players (or ‘managers’ as they are called) draft a team for an entire season, DFS is, just like the name implies, daily. Managers draft players for a single day based on player values using a website imposed salary cap. With DFS, the player values combined with the salary cap creates ‘odds’ in gambling parlance for the probability of a certain outcome; basically the higher the player value, or cost, the more likely the player will have a better game compared to similar players.

...With rising popularity, exposure and money coming to sites like DraftKings and FanDuel, comes new scrutiny. Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ), ranking member the Energy and Commerce Committee, has requested an inquiry into the relationship between gambling and playing DFS. Said Rep. Pallone in a statement on DFS sites: “These sites are enormously popular, arguably central to the fans’ experience, and professional leagues are seeing the enormous profits as a result. Despite how mainstream these sites have become, though, the legal landscape governing these activities remains murky and should be reviewed.”
