Casino News: Harrah's Entertainment and MGM Resorts Will Be Closed for Renovations Nationwide Until November 2016

Las Vegas (RNN) - Citing concerns with a series of threatened national boycotts, Harrah’s vice president of public policy and communications Marybel Batjer announced that all casino facilities would be shuttered immediately for "major renovations" to be completed by November 2016.

"We recognize that we basically stole the election for Harry Reid, but we also didn't anticipate that the proof of our collusion with his campaign would circulate all over the Internet in about six seconds flat," she said in a prepared statement, "And we did not predict the sort of national backlash we are now facing."

"In order to avoid an economically catastrophic boycott by players across the land, we have instead decided to close all of our facilities until November 2016 for 'renovations'."

Joining Harrah's in the self-enforced six-year renovation effort is MGM Entertainment, which also reportedly violated state and federal election laws by compelling employees to vote for Reid and a straight Democrat ticket.

"We understand what we did wrong -- namely accompanying each employee into the voting booth and pressing the buttons for them -- and will do everything in our power to rectify the situation next time around," said Harvey Frizzle, director of vote fraud, "If, in fact, we do violate election laws in the future, we will be certain not to communicate our plans in such a way that we get caught."

Former New York attorney general Eliot Spitzer, in town for a 'convention', said he had not witnessed any untoward activities at the polls from his honeymoon suite at the Venetian.

ABC Notifies Breitbart They're Canceling His Town-hall Gig Due to Scheduling Conflict and Crazed Nutroots, But Mostly Crazed Nutroots

Cub Reporter Biff Spackle, whose annual review is on December 1st, said he snatched the following letter from ABC's fax machine just after it was sent to Andrew Breitbart. You may recall that, after inviting Breitbart to participate in a town hall telecast, ABC was hit with a firestorm of controversy by liberal progressive bloggers who oppose free speech.

Dear Mr. Breitbart,

We are writing to confirm the decor of your dressing room... oh. Excuse me. Hold on. I have to take this call.

Yes, Mr. Boehlert. Uh, okay. Yes sir. I pinky-promise.

Uhm, Mr. Breitbart, I regret to inform you that the Soros leftists who control the Democrat Party several scheduling conflicts prevent us from airing your valued opinions during the election broadcast.

It has come to our attention that an employee in our bookings department sent you an unauthorized offer letter to appear on election night. We were forced to fire him, at which point he blamed you. While he is a steroid-engorged bodybuilder who owns more than two dozen hunting rifles, please don't be alarmed.

Would you consider taking another analyst position for less pay than we originally discussed, even though we would never offer you such a position?

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Andrew Morse

Last Call for Liberty

"You would think they’d be saying thank you" -- Barack Obama, 4/15/2010

When they spent a trillion dollars of your money to repay union bosses for their support, they were laughing at you.

When they put 25,000 small businesses at risk by banning non-unionized shops from bidding on government construction projects, they were laughing at you.

When they nationalized the auto companies and flouted bankruptcy law to pay off the UAW bosses, they were laughing at you.

When they shoved the wickedly unpopular ObamaCare bill down your throats using bribes, cajolery and strong-arm tactics -- without even bothering to read their own disastrous bill, they were laughing at you.

When they passed a financial reform bill, spearheaded by the same men who had helped create the crisis in the first place and had shielded corrupt, Democrat-controlled institutions like Fannie Mae from oversight, they were laughing at you.

When they publicly demonized the nation's biggest banks while privately taking millions in contributions from them, they were laughing at you.

When they opened up the borders to murder, rape and mayhem -- disregarding the safety of citizens across the country -- to increase the odds of their reelection, they were laughing at you.

When they tried to tell you that "We Are All Socialists Now", they were laughing at you.

When they paid illegal aliens to openly canvas for Democrat votes, they were laughing at you.

When they called you racists, though you supported Allen West and 37 other wonderful black conservatives running for national office, they were laughing at you.

When they relentlessly tried to corrupt the voting process with amnesty for illegals, permitting felons to vote, and ACORN's skulduggery, they were laughing at you.

When they used your tax dollars to tar you as "tea-baggers", when your philosophy is that of America's founders, they were laughing at you.

When they tweeted birthday wishes to this era's Hitler while he builds nuclear weapons and plots America's destruction, they were laughing at you.

When they hand-delivered ballots to prisoners in jail but couldn't find a way to get military ballots to our armed forces in time for this election, they were laughing at you.

I will walk on f***ing broken glass to get to the polls tomorrow.

Are you fired up to save this country? Are you?? Well then I want to see you at the polls at zero-six-thirty-sharp. Hooah!

While few will say so on the record for fear of alienating party officials or depressing turnout, every one of nearly a dozen Democratic House consultants and political strategists surveyed expect a GOP majority to be elected Tuesday — the consensus was that Democrats would lose somewhere between 50 and 60 seats... On the high end, one Democratic consultant said losses could number around 70 seats." -- Some dweeb at Politico

Every Vote Counts: Latest Intrade Data Has GOP Picking Up 8 Senate Seats, With 12 Still In Reach

The prediction market InTrade has an impressive -- but not perfect -- record at forecasting elections.

The latest numbers for the Senate show eight pickups for the GOP with three or four more possible.

California's 18 is misleading: the number has swung wildly throughout the campaign season and promises to do so leading up til Tuesday given the breaking reports that Boxer used her position to airdrop $8 million to her son.

The numbers represent, essentially, the percentage of probability and range from 0 to 100, with the latter number indicating a virtual lock.

52 -- Democrats to control the Senate after 2010 Congressional Elections
41 -- AK Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Miller) to win
98 -- AR Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Boozman) to win +1
18 -- CA Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Fiorina) to win
65 -- CO Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Buck) to win +1
98 -- CT Senate -- Democrat Party candidate (Blumenthal) to win
91 -- DE Senate -- Democrat Party candidate (Coons) to win
90 -- FL Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Rubio) to win
67 -- IL Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Kirk) to win +1
95 -- IN Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Coats) to win +1
95 -- KY Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Paul) to win
94 -- MO Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Blunt) to win
74 -- NV Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Angle) to win +1
97 -- ND Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Kirk) to win +1
91 -- PA Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Toomey) to win +1
69 -- WA Senate -- Democrat Party candidate (Murray) to win
73 -- WV Senate -- Democrat Party candidate (Manchin) to win
90 -- WI Senate -- Republican Party candidate (Johnson) to win +1

All this means is that every... vote... counts. The stakes for this country could not be higher. Don't take anything for granted.

We must send wave after wave after wave of patriots to the polls early Tuesday morning.

You don't have to storm a beach or drop into the Stan.

You just have to vote. Wake up at 4:00am if you have to. Be the first in line and cast your vote for liberty.

Vegas Media Hack-Slash-Laughingstock Jon Ralston Runs a Last-Ditch Endorsement for Harry Reid

Jon Ralston is nothing if not consistent. Amid shrill claims of non-partisanship, the Las Vegas Sun columnist has run a homogeneous series of commercials for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, all of which were thinly disguised as op-eds.

Now his final Hail Mary pass for the Reid campaign consists of an election forecast as predictable as a Joe Biden gaffe. Cue the headline: "Atmospherics are terrible for Reid, but he will hold on."

It just feels as if Reid is going to lose.

Forget the enthusiasm gap — that word is too mild. There is a passion gap in this race that is palpable. You don’t find many people shivering with excitement to vote for Reid. But the feverish animation of voters hot to oust Reid is unlike anything I have experienced in nearly 25 years of covering politics. And it seems to have been building since January, evidenced by Reid’s inability to move his highly elevated disapproval rating.

It just feels as if he is going to lose.

But I don’t think he will... The result: Reid, 47 percent; Angle, 45 percent; rest, 4 percent; none of the above, 4 percent.

No mention of the Democrats' core constituencies: illegal aliens, felons and the dead. But it won't matter on Tuesday.

Ralston should read the weather report in Nevada. Meteorologists are looking for a category 6 hurricane named "Constitution".

Oh my: Of his campaign promises, Jerry Brown caught on tape admitting: "It's all a lie"

You can say what you want about California's GOP gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, but she's definitely not an admitted failure and liar.

Jerry Brown, already twice elected Governor of the state, admitted in September that he'd made plenty of horrific mistakes during his tenure.

He said that he realized which mistakes he'd made in the past and "vow[ed] not to repeat them if elected again".

Now, an old interview with Brown has surfaced in which he admits that all of his old campaign promises were out and out lies.

Interviewer: You said something a moment ago that I have to follow up on and I have to draw you out on. You said you don’t have to lie anymore now that you’re not a politician. What did you lie about when you were governor?

Jerry Brown: It’s all a lie. You’re pretending there’s a plan…

Interviewer: What did you lie about?

Jerry Brown: You run for office and the assumption is “Oh, I know what to do”. You don’t. I didn’t have a plan for California. Clinton doesn’t have a plan. Bush doesn’t have a plan.

Interviewer: You said you had a plan for California and you lied because you didn’t have a plan?

Jerry Brown: You say you’re going to lower taxes, you’re going to put people to work, you’re gonna improve the schools, you’re going to stop crime… crime is up, schools are worse, taxes are higher. I mean be real!

For a liar, that was an awfully honest statement. I guess.

Folks in California: vote for Meg Whitman. Do you really want your state to commit suicide? Because that's what a vote for Jerry Brown represents.

How to use your power as a senator to send $8 million in cold cash to your son, by Barbara Boxer (D-CA). Also: The Hill scrubs story from website

Can we call this burgeoning scandal Boxer-gate yet? After all, when a Democrat finds a way to secretively transfer $8 million in cold cash to her son using unabashed power in the Senate -- which is what The Hill alleges that Barbara Boxer did -- then it seems an apt title indeed.

Step 1: Find a defunct American Indian tribe that officially ceased to exist decades ago.

Step 2: Jam legislation through that reinstates the tribe and discretely tack on an amendment that gives the tribe the right to open a casino near San Francisco.

Step 3: Have the tribe turn over all real estate and policy details for the construction of the casino to two advisory firms, both of which were co-owned by the Senator's son.

Step 4: Profit! Boxer's son reportedly cleared a cool $8 million for his, uhm, help.

To avoid immediate citizen concern about a casino popping up in their posh neighborhood, Doug Boxer’s Kenwood Investments 2 kindly fronted for the casino interests in purchasing a tract of land in Rohnert Park, as well as helpfully taking options on adjoining parcels of land for themselves to sweeten the pot... Then Platinum Advisers sprang into action to try to gain community support for the casino...

What makes the story timely is that the federal government just a couple of weeks ago was compelled to declare the land that Boxer’s son had purchased on behalf of the Indian casino a reservation, effectively killing the local zoning and lawsuits that had tied the project up in knots for most of the past decade.

As an aside, The Hill's Rick Manning -- who first reported this in the national press -- must be in very deep doo-doo indeed.

This is the story as it appeared yesterday morning.

And this is the story as it appears now.

Scrubbed as clean as a whistle, perhaps because The Hill was threatened with every form of reprisal possible. And as a Beltway news periodical, the opportunities for malfeasance by political hacks are almost limitless.

Spread the word. Support Carly Fiorina for U.S. Senate. And stop this malevolent crackpot from harming this country further.

Cognitive Dissonance Comment o' the Day [Rally to Restore Sharia]

Reacting to the post entitled "15 Most Bizarre Photos From Jon Stewart's Rally You'll Never See in Legacy Media"...

...the ubiquitous and courageous commenter named "Anonymous" contributed this gem to the thread:

Looks like some one skipped the day that sarcasm was taught in school.

[***Forehead slap***] I'm so glad the liberals progressives cleared this up.

Death threats and Hitler regalia are signs of sarcasm, not hatred. So this sort of thing is A-okay.

It's sarcasm, rubes.

Update: Dan from New York calls yesterday's hate sarcasm fest the Rally to Restore Sharia:

Did you notice who Stewart and Colbert chose for their show's grand finale? Yusuf Islam, the Artist Previously Known as Cat Stevens. Quite a few good commentators noticed too, starting with Ed Driscoll who has video and links to the others.  In case you forgot, the American convert to Islam endorsed the Ayatollah's fatwah against Salman Rushdie and has been barred from Israel for "transferring donations and funds to Islamic elements which are hostile to Israel," according to Israeli authorities.  All in good fun though - unless you're one of those dumb rightwing racists who can't take a joke.

Update II: The brave, still anonymous commenter offers another clarification.

Since it was my comment that spawned your latest screed ... I'll play a little longer... I posted my comment as "Anonymous" because a few years back, I wrote an OP-ED regarding the Bush administration's unnecessary war in Iraq.

It received lots of angry right wing comment. But, it also led to a right wing nut calling my home and threatening me and my family.

I can tell you are too dense to get it, but many of the people at the rally the other day were MOCKING you ... mocking folks who think that Communism, Fascism, and Socialism are all the same thing.

They were mocking people who babble incoherently that Mao, Stalin, and Hitler were the same as Obama... They were mocking people who bring guns to political rallies to suggest that if they don;t get the political outcomes they want, they may react with "2nd amendment remedies"... They were mocking those who would think that a large man stomping on the head of a small women was justified [Ed: you can see stop-action photos of what really occurred here]

In the end, they were mocking YOU, and you aren't bright enough to recognize it.

I'll say it slowly; do try to follow along. Hitler himself wrote that Nazism was an effort to improve Marxism. Put simply, the philosophies of Marxism, Socialism, Communism and Fascism share many qualities, most importantly their assignation of unlimited power of the state over the individual, ending finally in totalitarianism.

Modern conservatism aligns itself with limiting power granted to the state, which is the framework established by the Constitution. It is the only known antidote to the decline of corrupted governments into tyrannies.

But don't believe me--Hitler himself wrote of Nazism:

"I have learned a great deal from Marxism, as I do not hesitate to admit. The difference between them and myself is that I have really put into practice what these peddlers and penpushers have timidly begun...I had only to develop logically what Social Democracy repeatedly failed in because of its attempt to realize its evolution within the framework of democracy. National Socialism is what Marxism might have been if it could have broken its absurd and artificial ties with the democratic order." -- Hitler to Rauschning, The Voice of Destruction, pg. 186
.
The Nazi Party, is of course, The National Socialist German Workers' Party (German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei abbreviated NSDAP). Now, your course of reading for today is Whom Despots Fear, helpfully illustrated for imbecilic tools who require remedial, comic-book-level education on history, philosophy, law and economics.

Confirming What We Already Knew: Legacy Media Openly Collaborating With Democrat Statists to Sabotage Republican Candidates

Dan Riehl has the goods on yet another media-Democrat conspiracy. The only real surprise is that they were caught red-handed this time.

Last night news broke that Anchorage's CBS affiliate KTVA News 11 reporters were caught on tape discussing ways in which they could potentially embarass the Senate campaign of Republican Joe Miller... ("Anchorage CBS Affiliate Caught on Voicemail Conspiring Against Alaska’s GOP Senate Candidate")

...Now, note the irony captured below in KTVA's local coverage of yesterday's so called Restoring Sanity rally. Above they are exposed for conspiring to generate yet another negative headline grabbing story in an effort to damage Miller's Senate campaign. Now, in their rally coverage, they quote an activist criticizing both Sarah Palin and Joe Miller for allegedly generating so much of that very kind of news...

...In essence, CBS' KTVA is exposed above for generating negative coverage, and now we see them doubling back to highlight an activist's negative reaction to such news - in this case, presumably to also damage Miller's campaign. At this point, CBS affiliate KTVA appears to be engaged in political activism, not journalism...

Hot Air has a copy of the damning transcript.

As signs of a possible conservative tsunami appear on the horizon, liberals progressives are panicking, screeching in rage at even the hint of diverse opinions sullying their previously pristine echo chambers. Which leads to preemptive apologies on the part of folks like ABC News for the high crime of including Andrew Breitbart on an election panel.

Andrew Morse, executive producer at ABC News Digital, issued the following statement after the leftist outcry.

Since conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart announced on his website that he was going to be a participant in ABC’s Town Hall meeting at Arizona State University, there has been considerable consternation and misinformation regarding my decision to ask him to participate in an election night Town Hall event for ABC News Digital. I want to explain what Mr. Breitbart's role has always been as one of our guests at our digital town hall event:

Mr. Breitbart is not an ABC News analyst.

He is not an ABC News consultant.

He is not, in any way, affiliated with ABC News.

He is not being paid by ABC News.

He has not been asked to analyze the results of the election for ABC News.

Mr. Breitbart will not be a part of the ABC News broadcast coverage, anchored by Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos. For the broadcast coverage, David Muir and Facebook's Randi Zuckerberg will contribute reaction and response gathered from the students and faculty of Arizona State University at an ABC News/Facebook town hall.

He has been invited as one of several guests, from a variety of different political persuasions, to engage with a live, studio audience that will be closely following the election results and participating in an online-only discussion and debate to be moderated by David Muir and Facebook’s Randi Zuckerberg on ABCNews.com and Facebook. We will have other guests, as well as a live studio audience and a large audience on ABCNews.com and Facebook, who can question the guests and the audience’s opinions.

In the bazaar of ideas, the modern Democrat is the suicide bomber. For, rather than entertain lively debate and diversity of opinion, he would rather destroy the world.

Democrat 'Bacon-Strips in the Boxers' Watch: Stunning Internal Polls in DE and CT Senate Races Prompt Last-Minute Obama Visits

The trend is not the Democrats' friend.

A couple of days ago, a credible source reported that Chris Coons' internal polling showed a narrow lead for Christine O'Donnell in the hotly contested Delaware Senate race.

Today word broke that President Obama will head back to Delaware in yet another attempt to shore up support for "The Bearded Marxist". The visit Monday will mark the tenth trip for either Obama or Veep Joe "Plugs" Biden in recent months.

What's prompting the last-minute panic?

Gawker's hit piece apparently had the opposite effect of what its instigators had hoped. It generated sympathy for the GOP candidate as the most outrageous of a long series of ridiculous attacks.

And it simply catalyzed the long-simmering rage from the train of abuses heaped upon the people by the Obama-Pelosi-Reid Democrats.

The DNC is picking up the trend that people registered as Democrats are indeed early voting — NATIONALLY — but they are not voting Democrat. They are voting Republican, the way that I did here in Chicago today... if I had to guess they are using focus groups and then extrapolating those nationally to see a trend that horrifies them. They see people in Democrat strongholds like Chicago saying “F-U” to the party and voting Republican. Maybe they are doing exit polling at early vote centers and finding they are being screamed at by lifelong Democrats.

...My friend the fundraiser says they’ve worked out some kind of plug-and-chug mathematical box with what they are seeing in early voting states…when the current Delaware polling and focus group work is considered IN LIGHT OF THIS DOCUMENTED TREND, the DNC is horrified to see that Delaware is trending like the rest of the country…where registered Democrats who are going to vote intend to vote AGAINST the party…straight ticket, top to bottom, AGAINST Democrats.

Delaware might not be early voting... but from whatever the Democrats are seeing internally, if Delaware WAS early voting then Delaware’s numbers would be lining up with every other state.

That means Democrats aren’t safe ANYWHERE and there is nothing anyone can do to change that.

As if to reinforce that message, internal polling apparently shows Linda McMahon surging in the race for Connecticut's Senate seat.

The most curious of [Obama's last] stops is in Connecticut, where the Democratic Senate candidate, Richard Blumenthal, has a comfortable lead over Republican Linda McMahon. Even though the seat appears to be in hand, White House officials view keeping Connecticut as critical to holding on to the Senate.

If you've got a couple of bucks to spare, drop 'em on Christine O'Donnell or Linda McMahon.

Obama's last-minute visits to DE and CT means things are trending very badly for the Democrats. Let's help turn these races into shocking routs.

Updates:

Tolerance.

MSNBC used this delightful photo in its story. It features Beck, Palin, Limbaugh, Boehner and Cantor as Hitler. Media outcry in 3... 2... never.

The full spectrum of leftists were out in force this afternoon. [Update: the use of NAMBLA as a comedic vehicle on The Daily Show was pointed out by a commenter. Hilarious.]

Ever get the feeling that the left will still be blaming Bush for the Great Dilythium Crystal Shortage of 2050?

I have no idea what the sign on the left means, but I'm sure socialists understand it.

Wild guess: this person votes Democrat.

Mmm hmm. That is a problem I often hear expressed: the media is too damn conservative.

I asked whether any of these patriots voluntarily paid taxes at the pre-Bush tax cut level and they told me to shut up.

Nothing says "Rally for Sanity" like the umbrella parachute helmet.

Perfect timing while PETN bombs are shipped to American synagogues and the Iranian clerics gleefully ready their nukes to hasten the return of the Twelfth Imam.

Condom-hater!

Actually, it was going okay until Nancy Pelosi took the reins of the budget and spent us into oblivion.

Oh, yes he does.

"I can see Crazy from my house."

Indeed I can.

I truly fear what a handwriting analysis of this sign would tell us.

A perfect way to close: this flag is made up of destroyed American flags.

But don't you dare question their patriotism.
