Those Wascally Wacists

During the height of the Don Imus controversy in 2007, Barack Obama advocated firing the controversial radio host for his racist remarks.

In an interview with ABC News Wednesday afternoon, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., called for the firing of talk radio host Don Imus. Obama said he would never again appear on Imus' show, which is broadcast on CBS Radio and MSNBC television.

"I understand MSNBC has suspended Mr. Imus," Obama told ABC News, "but I would also say that there's nobody on my staff who would still be working for me if they made a comment like that about anybody of any ethnic group. And I would hope that NBC ends up having that same attitude."

Hold that thought.

Jay at STACLU asks:

While Barack Obama has responded to an admitted “firestorm” over his pastor’s racist and anti-American statements by cla[i]ming he didn’t hear them in person, Rev. Jeremiah Wright has defended himself in the past by referring to his foundational philosophy, the “black liberation theology” of scholars such as James Cone, who regard Jesus Christ as a “black messiah” and blacks as “the chosen people” who will only accept a God who assists their aim of destroying the “white enemy.”

If God is not for us and against white people,” writes Cone, “then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill gods who do not belong to the black community.”

...Will you explain [these values] to America?

I'd be satisfied with Obama explaining his hypocrisy.
