As of September 28, 2009, the Department of Housing and Urban Development still lists
ACORN as one its "HUD Approved Housing Counseling Agencies."
Today, one of ACORN's biggest corporate partners -- Bank of America --
announced that it has "suspended current commitments" to Acorn Housing and "will not enter into any further agreements with Acorn or any of its affiliates" pending a review.
It's bad enough that ACORN has received the fourth-most taxpayer money -- roughly $25 million -- since late 2007 for distressed mortgage borrowers.
It's an absolute disgrace they're still permitted to receive any funds from taxpayers -- through HUD or anyone else.
