Escape from Sacramento

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a fiscal emergency yesterday, slashing the state budget by $8 billion and requesting $7 billion from the federal government.

Cali faces a deficit of $41.6 billion or about half of all projected revenues.

Now, facing a 50% shortfall, guess how much did the Jerkinator and his Democrat toadies cut spending?

Less than 4%.

I'm not real good at 'rithmetic and all, but I'm interested to see how that's gonna work out.

Probably something like this.

Welcome to Thunderdome, Arnie.

  1. He's "requesting $7 billion from the federal government," which translates into the taxpayers of the other forty-nine states having to pick up California's tab.

    Wunderbar.
