SC Dems urge mystery candidate to withdraw from Senate race citing pending felony charges and pro-life stance, but mostly pro-life stance

The winner of the Democrat Senate primary in South Carolina is an unknown, unemployed individual currently facing a felony obscenity charge. The man never even campaigned for the seat. The Democrat Party apparatus is now urging Alvin Greene to withdraw from the race in which he would face Jim DeMint (R-SC).

The criminal and/or suspect behavior can't possibly be the problem -- considering that Democrats Barney Frank, Charlie Rangel, Dianne Feinstein, Maxine Waters, Chris Dodd, Alan Mollohan, and a host of other folks are so crooked they could easily substitute as corkscrews.

No, the criminality can't be the issue. I'm guessing Greene is pro-life.

  2. Hello,
i actually disappointed with the post because Court records show 32-year-old Alvin Greene was arrested in November and charged with showing obscene Internet photos to a University of South Carolina student. The felony charge carries up to five years in prison.

It's called a "sense of humor". Look it up.

  4. Candidate Greene just needs to take a long walk on the Appalacian Trail to reflect on his actions and...no, wait!

    Note to all SC politicritters:

    Stop talking. Please!

  5. On FNC today - Greene is not stepping down. Some notable quotes from the unemployed vet who has never help public office:

"I want to put South Carolina back to work, I know about being unemployed." Well, experience is important.

    "TARP? What's that?" he asked.
After a moment he added, "I'll have to look into that and get back to you." No desire to be confused by excess information. That's nice.

"I think there should be one Korea under a democracy, done peacefully," he said. Greene said that could best be accomplished by "diplomatic efforts." Why didn't anyone else think of this? Kim Jung Il just needs someone to point out the errors of his thinking.

Where did Greene get the money to register his candidacy?

"In March, Greene paid a $10,400 filing fee to get on the ballot. But just four months before that, when he was charged with showing obscene images to a woman, Greene qualified for representation by a public defender— which in South Carolina requires an "affidavit of indigency" to prove that you can't afford your own attorney."

    And this:

"After graduating from Manning High School in 1995, Greene received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of South Carolina in 2000.[5][6] He served as an intelligence specialist and a unit supply specialist in the U.S. Army[7] and has been unemployed since being forced out of the Army in 2009."
