USA vs. Iran basketball: American cheerleaders forced to wear long pants in a 'nod to Muslim law'

It would appear that the terrorists won.

USA defeated Iran in basketball today, which comes as a surprise to no one. What may raise a few eyebrows: team dancers were forced to wear long pants in a “nod to Muslim law"...

One interesting tidbit that arose from the game: the cheerleaders were forced to cover up.

[In} a nod to the Iranian supporters in Istanbul — which included minister of sports Ali Saeedlou earlier in the tournament — dancers were ordered to cover up for their performances during the game. Islam prohibits women from exposing their skin in public, and Iranian officials had turned their backs when the dancers performed in earlier games.

The dancers wore long pants Wednesday.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg was seen in the front row gleefully clapping for the cheerleaders, who wore niqabs that covered all body parts except for the eyes.

Okay. I made that part up.

    This entire thing is silly.

    Yes, the terrorists have won.

First of all, IRAN should never be allowed to play ANY international sporting competition. FIFA should have banned North Korea from the last World Cup - especially after knowing about how the brutal Dictatorship sank a South Korean ship.

"Smart Power" should get some guts...

But also, I am just finding it a little strange, to know we have professional cheerleaders for Olympic events?

I mean, I LIKE cheerleaders. (Yes, I admit, outside of College Basketball, I don't watch a lot of basketball anymore - after the KNICKs went under).

But, isn't this odd to begin with?

To have sexy outfits of some young Babes paid to cheer for an Olympic team?

On another note, what happens when the Women compete in a sports event with Iran around - or competing with the USA?

Do American Women playing Iran in some sport, have to cover up as well?

Lastly, why on Earth are Iranians playing a sport created by fine Infidels?

Wouldn't this be a bit of a conflict with the entire USA is the source of all evil - as hated as they despise Israel?

Why shoot the rock, of you are from Iran? What are the Mullahs thinking?
