A Post Begging for an Illustration: National Organization of Ugly Women Sues Hooters for Serving Kids Food and Soft Drinks

First they came for your Happy Meal.

The National Organization for Women filed complaints against local Hooters restaurants Thursday, but not for exploiting its scantily clad waitresses by subjecting them to leering and groping customers.

The subject this time was Hooters' catering to children.

The restaurants in San Francisco, San Bruno, Sacramento and Orange County are classified as "adult entertainment" establishments but also serve minors, NOW's California chapter said in papers filed with police and prosecutors.

What's more, the organization said, Hooters provides child menus, high chairs and booster seats, and sells T-shirts in children's sizes that identify the wearer as a "Future Hooters Girl."

I once ordered wine in a Hooters. It came in a tiny bottle with a screw-top cap.

It was a very good month. Very.

  1. What amazes me is that, for one thing, if a child goes into a Hooters, it's usually (if not always) with an adult. Who do you think pays the bill? So if you don't like the idea that children go in there, too bad. It isn't your decision what a parent allows their child to do.

Secondly, and more upsetting, is that these clowns at NOW are so concerned with Hooters, but could not give a rat's ass about the systematic abuse and murder of women throughout the Arab world.

I used to say that NOW stood for the "National Organization of Liberal Women." Instead, I think it really stands for the "National Organization of clueless and hypocritical Women."

    Or is that redundant?

  3. I'm confused. What is the offense here? It's now immoral to serve food to kids? It's now immoral to provide kids high chairs in which to sit? It's now immoral to sell souvenirs? It's now immoral for parents to make decisions on behalf of their own kids? It's now immoral for kids to see scantily dressed women, such as they see at Hooters, the beach, on ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, MTV, at a Brittney Spears concert, et cetera? Which of these is it with which the National Organization of (political) Whores has a problem?

  4. Actually, Alaska, Doug had it right all along. It's wrong because these women in NOW can not compete. They are mostly unattractive, overweight and probably never had a date for prom. How else can they seek their revenge, if not for decrying against those who were blessed with physical appeal?

    Here's my caption:

"Wowza! I am a red-blooded American boy. I like boobies. That means I am straight. That means ugly women in comfortable shoes and their politics mean nothing to me. That means I will grow up to vote Republican."

In which case, the parent has already named the little darling "Tiffani" or "Kimba" or "Bambi" and she's doomed from the start.

  8. A child could get corrupted more quickly by viewing the salacious crap that major networks serve up as "entertainment" daily and nightly. To say nothing of the hip-hop and cRap videos that our youth seem so enamored of these days. Hooters chicks strap their sweater pups down and wear pantyhose...it's not "sexy" at all...to me, at least.
