Using
Alexa's traffic rankings, the following represents a tabular view of the top 150 conservatively focused news and blog sites. Each column can be sorted by clicking the column header. And click on the site-name to open a new window and visit the website if it's new to you.
Update: I've missed at least two sites that deserve to be on the list:
Fausta's Blog and
Uncoverage.net.
Linked by: Don Surber. Thanks!
The first three listed are not Conservative.
ReplyDeleteWSJ and RealClear are more center and HotAir is right of center but not conservative despite Morrissey
@Buddahfan - I've included sites that feature conservative news and punditry on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteClearly whoever made up the list is clueless about the difference between Center, Right of Center, Conservative and Libertarian.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately there are still a lot of politically ignorant folks out there that think think that Libertarian is Conservative or Right Wing.
A number of sights listed are Libertarian and should not be a list of Conservative websites.
Worse yet you published the list as is without editing out the Libertarian websites.
The Daily Kos, Huffington Post etc feature Conservative news all the time.
ReplyDeleteYour argument is weak.
@Buddahfan - Don't let the blog's door hit you on the ass on your way out.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your ranking !!
ReplyDeleteBuddafan,
ReplyDeleteYour tinfoil plated drool cup awaits your chin.
I made the list, woohoo!
ReplyDeleteGreat list, thanks! Many are already on my daily blogrun, but there are quite a few I'm interested to check out. I was a little surprised not to find Lucianne.com on the list. And I would nominate Michelle Obama's Mirror's Blog (michellesmirror.com).
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this, Doug! Congrats to you and Deb!
ReplyDelete135.
ReplyDeletenot bad for a blogger who uses ALL CAPS a lot and gets linkage from only a few other special bloggers!
I too question the definition of "conservative" here but the list does include a lot of my daily must read list.
ReplyDeleteBut there are some that I don't read if I catch the link reference early enough.
And of course there are the AssOfSqazzHQ sites that have banned me for complaining about her blind-linking to leftist sites.
Does Alexa have blog categories? I only ask because you left mine off the list. Sure, it's not in the top 50, but it'd slip right in thee in the mid 120s, under Moe Lane. :)
ReplyDeleteWha. . . ? I made a list? Any list?
ReplyDeletew00t!
Thanks for noticing.
:o)
Jimmie, what's the URL (Sundries Shack?)... I definitely could have missed some, I tried to collect as many as I could.
ReplyDeleteI'll include it next time.
Thx
Frodus gives u Deep-bow/grats my Brother.Impressive!
ReplyDeleteHere's Jimmie's URL:

What, no Rottweiler?
ReplyDeletewww.nicedoggie.com
Sinful!!!
Congrats on the strong showing! I have a few more to add to my daily reading list. I agree that some of these are simply right of center - but that was the point anyway.
ReplyDeleteBrad
Hmmmm...thought my Alexa Rank was higher...though it still would have put me in at #150 on your list.
ReplyDeleteUrbanGrounds.com
Congrats man, your site is fabulous-you can leave that picture up of Sarah leaving AF1 as long as you like.
ReplyDeleteMM
maybe PS Col West right behind her
Hey, where's the Blaze? I would think it would rank high, too.
ReplyDelete...and if you get banned by Google, like The New Media Journal and Borderfire Report, your Alexa rankings drop like a rock...so, this list needs as asterisks.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Alexa, America's Right should be in there at No. 144.
ReplyDeleteGiven that I've been sorely lacking in terms of putting out new material recently, I'm VERY surprised.
Nevertheless, I'm sad that AR didn't make the list. If AR isn't a conservative-focused site, I don't know what it is!
To whom do I direct my grievance?
@directorblue -- By the way, I'm kidding about the grievance.
ReplyDeleteSeriously.
Please consider AR for future lists, though, but only if I've been putting forth the effort (ever since taking a hiatus for Bar Exam prep, I've been averaging less than one new piece daily ... clearly not enough!).
Jeff, what's the URL? I'm trying to catch all of the ones I missed for next time. Thx
ReplyDeletehttp://www.americasright.com
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo! There's a next time! There was once a time when I'd have been higher on that list ... now that I know there's a next time, I'd better get my arse in gear.
Thanks for keeping AR in consideration, sir.
Jeff
Where is FreeRepublic.com on this list?
ReplyDeleteWhere is The Blaze on this list?
Why are WSJ, RealClearPolitics, and TheHill on this list, as all three split focus on both sides of the aisle?
That's for the list Doug. I linked to you here:
ReplyDeletehttp://politicsandfinance.blogspot.com/2011/04/list-of-top-150-conservative-blogs-and.html
Movin' on up... much better than being on a 'bottom 150 sites' list :D
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Doug!
Can't believe no one here has ever heard of Ricochet. Mark Steyn, Peter Robinson, Rob Long, Victor Davis Hanson, James Lileks, Andrew Klavan, Claire Berlinksi, and Andrew Klavan are all contributors there. The podcasts they produce are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI belong to Ricochet. I don't post there that much but maybe I should.
ReplyDeleteConservative Blogs Central
ReplyDeletehttp://conservativeblogscentral.blogspot.com
Alexa Traffic Rank: 588,604
United States Flag Traffic Rank in US: 166,847
www.personalliberty.com. According to Alexa (Rank # 36,480), it falls right about the mid-30s.
ReplyDeletegosh, this sure was a lotta work. I hope you have a research assistant??
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised Gates of Vienna made the list. After all, we're that racist, crypto-Nazi Eurotrash-focused blog (ask Charles Johnson) that some people think really does originate in Austria instead of where we really live: the piedmont of the Blue Ridge Mtns in VA...just like I once thought Don Surber was in the U.K. Daily Mail -- U.K., West Virginia, whatever. Back then, I was amazed that he 'got' America so well.
BTW, someone told me we're the #3 blog in Denmark. That only happened because we return their admiration. After talking to our donors and commenters and guest posters from all over, here's an observation: for some reason Danes, Aussies, and Texans are all quite similar in their world view. Guess that's why they all often top out in so-called "Happiness Index" ratings.
A small quibble: The Atlantic is so leftish it looks more like a lemming all the time. I mean, James Fallows?? Sheesh. That aside, thanks for such a useful list. It was fun perusing it.
PS @ Buddhafan: your point is well-taken in some respects. However, the 'Right' side of the cultural divide is coming more and more to seem an alignment of "The Rest Against the Left". Thus, despite where one might place himself on the political or cultural spectrum, surely the sites listed here are read regularly by the endlessly fissioning Right?
As for the putative "Center" I agree with Yeats (and not just because I'm Irish ;-))
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity .
IOW, we're a doughnut; there ain't no center.
Was not aware of this list, #112 ... SM. Although we post on many topics when it comes to politics we are certainly conservative.
ReplyDeleteI would have thought that Gateway Pundit much higher.
R
Thanks for putting me on the list. I'm honored. One below BigHollywood... watch out Brietbart, I'm movin' up and you're in the way! I'm gonna link back to this, because I consider it bragworthy.
ReplyDeleteGreat list but along the lines of the lines of the battle becoming clearer you might want to consider Survival Blog next time.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.survivalblog.com/
World Wide Ranking of 28,376
US Ranking of 5,214
Sites linking in 551
I also think that the battle lines are drawn between the left and everyone else. There is enough common ground between the Libertarians, social conservatives, conservatives and neo cons to do business with.
COOL. THANKS FOR THE EFFORT!
ReplyDeleteTea Party Brief would rank around #96!
